Welcome to the next bracket! Which Star Trek TOS ship will be crowned Tumblr’s darling? And no, I didn’t include Spirk, because obviously that will win. Now the question is: will the Spones shippers come out on top, will the McSpirk fans triumph, or will a secret third option come out of the woodwork to destroy them all? Time to find out :)

Seeds were determined by looking at how many works each ship has in the “Star Trek: The Original Series” tag on AO3! There are some esoteric ones in here, but each of them has more than 200 works total, so there’s at least some fans here!

To me the answer is Jim because the ship is his special lady and he treats her like his wife. Yes, Scotty adores her too. But I think Jim would be frothing at the mouth for her... Then again Jim has Spock and Scotty doesn't have an equivalent sooo I guess it’s Scotty!? Hmm

I was thinking about this since McCoy is technically at admiral level by TNG. I know he never captained a ship and was only promoted thanks to his medical service, but I am curious if you think he'd actually make a good Captain.

I finally finished my 2-chapter fic, drowsy with the harmony, that explores what friendship means to K/S post-TOS. I’ve always felt that despite K/S having a clear romantic love for each other, their platonic relationship holds a special place as the lens by which all other interactions occur. This K/S fic explores the romantic and platonic aspects of their complicated relationship.

There’s a huge time paradox with Arcane Act 3 that is really bugging me.

The mage that saved Jayce is Viktor after he succeeded in his glorious evolution and brought about the death of everyone. He succeeded in this because he was merged with the hex core, which was initially created by Jayce and Viktor as we saw in s1. After Viktor realized he fucked up, he decided to go back in time and give Jayce a rune in order to inspire all of this to happen, with Jayce being the only one who can bring Viktor from the brink. He does this infinite times until Jayce succeeds. Very romantic.

Except… how was Jayce even alive in the timeline that the mage is from? After all, in this timeline (I will call it the OG time), there was no mage to save him. In OG time, Jayce dies (or even if he lives, he is not inspired to merge magic & science), hence there was no Hextech, hence there was no Viktor Jesus, hence there was no Viktor fucking up the entire world, HENCE THERE WAS NO MAGE.

This is a massive massive plot hole since the Viktor in OG time who eventually becomes the mage (aka the Viktor that used Hextech to destroy the world & regretted it) literally could not have had hextech to begin with given that Jayce would be dead if not for the mage, but since this Viktor is the one who becomes the mage in the first place, there is no other mage to make Jayce into who he is. Essentially, the mage, as the Viktor-hextech person that we saw, cannot exist without Jayce being both alive & inspired to merge magic/science. By the same token, Jayce would’ve been neither of these things if not for the mage. It is a paradox. “What came first, the Jayce or the mage?” The answer is neither and both. It is impossible. It is, dare I say, illogical. 🖖🏻

Idk if I am making any sense. I can try to draw it out to help you visualize it but there is a plot hole here.

Im sorry but i have to talk about how the FIRST shot we see of kirk is him gently touching a flower

His softness is so important to his character that we are meant to instantly recognize that this is him. THIS is is his establishing shot in this short and i think thats so important
