As a trans man who has had to put painstaking work into body positivity, body neutrality, and my own sense of manhood, I can't help but feel so bad for men who have, seemingly, never felt permission to have any positive feelings about their body and their manhood.

Yes, body positivity and body neutrality are for you, men. You owe nobody washboard abs, or beautiful facial hair, or clear skin, or unblemished skin, or "masculine" features. Genuinely, you are under no obligation to perform any of it. The weight of those expectations is genuinely suffocating. Let yourself remove that yoke from your shoulders and actually live.

I really adore the casually prioritized importance of friendships in the new Twisters movie. Like obviously there were sparks of romance that i thoroughly enjoyed but the point is that that was never the point. The way that Javi and Kate took care of each other and looked out for each other even when they were fighting. The way the whole tornado wranglers crew acted like family and welcomed Kate right in. The way Tyler was genuinely interested in getting to know Kate and working together with her. There was no big fight between Javi and Tyler over Kate or anybody else. Kate spent the whole movie processing a lot of trauma and was able to be supported by the friends surrounding her instead of having all of her interactions stopped up with an intense budding romance. I just really love it when friendship and people are the most important things.

Thinking about Bruce when Tim became Robin.

He always had anger in him, but this one is different. This anger has grief in it. This anger, his heart made for Tim alone.

The Polaroids in Tim’s tiny hands don’t mean anything; Not to him. They’re like a physical challenge from Gotham herself.

A reminder he’s just Bruce Wayne, and that nothing to her. She killed his name before, and she can do it again.

But, most of all, Bruce wants to bury himself in Batman. He can’t lose that. Even if the symbol doesn’t mean justice anymore. It meant nothing the moment he put Jason in the ground.

“I’m not your father,” his words are knives and hisses and Tim forces himself not to flinch, “ I don’t like you, I don’t care about you, I won’t wait for you.”

Bruce leaned forward, his face reflecting in Tim’s big eyes, not full of the admiration he had for Batman all these years. But fear for the man behind him.

“I’m your Batman. I bite.”

Maybe he can’t stop Tim from beating him. But he can make him regret he won.

I always see the "sunshine" character reduced to someone who is simply happy and bubbly all the time and I was thinking about how I wanted a sunshine character who is sunshine but because they choose to be - because they wake up every day and choose kindness

sherlock and john are insane because. like. nobody else can ever really come close to their relationship. they cant replace each other with anyone. no matter how much john loved mary, she couldn’t stop his nightmares. and sherlock turned to drugs as soon as john faded out of his life. no matter if sherlock ever had any feelings for molly, she just isn’t the same as john’s presence on cases. they need each other. they’re soulmates. i would feel bad for anybody else trying to have a relationship with either one, because they are so completely obsessed with each other. john killed for him after knowing him for a single day. sherlock opened up for him and him alone. they match each others freak in a way noone else can. they don’t even have to be romantic or anything. their relationship transcends everything. can anyone hear me? i know this is a given and everyone knows this but i just. yeah.
