> Watch the whole of Nuwho, starting with the ninth doctor

> Obsess over it for a couple of years, and rewatch the same ten episodes until people start becoming concerned about you

> Watch some spinoffs, e.g. Torchwood

> Spend enough time on the internet to convince yourself you must watch Classic Who

> Think about it for a long time

> Finally start watching Classic Who

> Give up

> Pick it up somewhere in the middle again for a specific reason (probably an edit or post that you saw)

> Get distracted

> Repeat the previous two steps a few times

> Spend even more time on the internet and fall into an incredibly niche rabbit hole about one particular character/era/part of Doctor Who

> Start listening to a random collection of Big Finish audios and Doctor Who books related to said part

jack harkness is the best character ever invented. he shows up, immediately bisexual as all hell, to be the second of roses boytoys recruited to team tardis, instantly turns it into a throuple, kisses both rose and the doctor on the lips, dies, gets brought back to life, and immediately gets forgotten by the doctor. and they were like Yup give that guy a spinoff (which the premise of by the way was literally "5 bisexuals do detective shit on aliens and get covered in blood a lot". IN 2006). and then he comes back to dr who 4 more times and its like 1) spawns back into the show in the middle of a divorce and implies he will eventually become a giant head in a jar directly before fucking back off to his polycule 2) he shows up for about 5 seconds in some space bar during the doctors pre-death farewell tour bc the doctors like alright jack we're getting you some dick tonight 3) shows up for ANOTHER 5 seconds to kiss a companion on the lips and create 1 million questions aaaand 4) breaks the doctor out of space jail, gives a pep talk to the lesbian in the team tardis who has been pining for the doctor for 8 millions years, and blows up a bunch of daleks. And then fucks off again. like truly how do you beat this

i know this is very nitpicky but whatever its my blog and i AM tumblr user twelverriver so its whatever. can the dw writers PLEASE stop forgetting tht the doctor DID settle down and they DID experience years in order one day after another. with river. you know their wife. on darillium. so i would like for them to stop putting lines in the show like "i always wondered what it'd be like living day to day". like u KNOW. steven moffat i thought u were my friend in the river fandom !!!
