Alright, so.

In the wake of the new Halloween PV posted on the TWST JP social media accounts, there’s been an explosion of hype. However, something else you may have seen circulating is people saying, "I already knew about this weeks ago!" and/or claims of having knowledge of leaked characters and costumes. Some have even directly linked to videos or images of these leaks (including fully animated character sprites) in threads discussing the next Halloween event. I myself have been sent these videos and images multiple times, unprompted, over the last few days.

To make a long story short:

You should NOT be speaking about or sharing these leaks in a public setting.

By doing so, you are running the risk of spoiling people who may not want to know these things in advance. They never gave their consent to see that, and this consent shouldn’t be assumed. I’m extremely disappointed that my own experience has been this way. I wanted the chance to react live as the information was being released. Others may feel the same as me. Additionally, openly talking about leaks is may make things more difficult for us fans in the long run.

The only reason these leaks were let out so early is because TWST started uploading assets into the game much sooner than they would actually be implemented. This has allowed dataminers in the fandom to go in and look around to see what goodies might be in store for the future. However, if fans are going to just run around blurting out what all the secrets are, it may discourage the devs from continuing to do this in the future. It will make it that much more difficult for fans to extract high quality card images ASAP. It means assets may be kept under tighter lock and key to prevent this from happening again.

Don't believe me? Something similar happened with the Japanese TWST website. The team used to upload news about the next month's schedule early, but locked behind a random string of numbers. Fans brute-forced those numbers and always managed to find the schedule sooner than it was intended to be out. The number of posts made on the website has now dropped drastically and schedules are no longer released on there. While there's no proof that these events are related, there is a real concern among some dataminers that the very same could happen regarding in-game assets.

I realize that leaks are common nowadays, but please let us at least respect other fans' rights to experience the game in their own way while also minimizing the risk of consequences for the fandom. If you must discuss these leaks at all, do it in PRIVATE. You are allowed to be excited about what's coming, but please keep it to yourselves or to your own circles where it may be a more appropriate topic.

Do not ask or talk about the leaks in my inbox, DMs, or comments. Do not link me to or share any leaks. Wait until the information has been released on official TWST social media handles, THEN I would be more than happy to talk about the news with everyone. Guys look! A birdie!

Jokes aside, I decided it was time to revamp my older avian designs as some needed a few improvements imo.

So, as such, here's a PV redesign!

In the original post I chose to dive more into the general gist of how avians work n all, so with this one it felt much more fitting to dive into PV himself!!

Pure Vanilla is a "dove-like avian", due to his appearance being most faithful to one. His markings are based off of bleeding heart/mourning doves, but his behavioural habits are those of the latter;

He's pretty protective of his people and those close to him, especially after the dark flour war;

Because of such, he's developed a tendency to heal others before himself regarthless of his injuries. This often leads to him lacking the magic necessary to fully heal himself and resorting to "traditional" patching up (With the use of tools such as bandages). Any wound he can't take care of is often hidden;

His feathers reflect light as a result of the souljam (eyes and more vibrant colors aside). How "shiny" they are is directly proportional to how much magic he has left in his system;

When said feathers fall off, they gradually loose their shine/blues and yellows, returning bit by bit to their original appearence before the souljam;

The scarring on his back is another consequence of the souljam, and it signals that he's it's current holder. This "mark" is permanent;

Vanilla has a bit of a biast towards children specifically, and will treat any as his own, often trying to care for them as best as he can;

Overall, he's a gentle peepaw doing his best out there

Red and Green; Up and Down

Red and Green are very prominent colors in the Yingdu Chapter. They are the two main colors in the OP:

red and green album behind the camera; red and green basketball court

They’re even more obvious in the ED with the traffic lights:

Red phone booth, green light; red and green lights (+yellow if you count XF lol)

But Miya, they are primary/secondary colors. Of course, they’re everywhere!

Okay, but look again at this frame in the OP:

Red on the outside, and green on the inside.

Now, look at the same basketball court, but as shown before the OP in YE1:

The colors are reversed. It’s now green on the outside, and red on the inside.

There is probably more to this discrepancy if we analyze the relevant dialogue in this scene for the pre-OP and in the lyrics for the OP, but I don’t have time for that right now. Let’s just take this as a signal from the animators to focus on those two colors.

Okay, so Green and Red are relevant, but what do they have to do with Up and Down?

In YE1, there was this scene where CXS passes the ball to LG, but it then unusually focuses on the camera and not on the ball:

Our eyes can’t help but be drawn to the camera…which is pointing to the down arrows on LG’s tie. And what are those arrows pointing to?

The green lane Lu Guang is standing on. However, this lane is red in the OP. Is it really pointing at the green? Or is it pointing at the red? And why focus on the camera first instead of just focusing directly on the arrows to get the message across more clearly? Camera + Arrows. What could they mean? This is something to think about...

Then in Lu Guang’s nightmare in YE3, Vein is chasing him in a green hallway, and he escapes into a green exit with a green down arrow:

He then falls into a dark room full of red:

The Green arrow from above is pointing down to the Red room.

So, does that mean Green is Up and Red is Down? I can’t say...

In the Bloody Storm PV, we have people descending green stairs:

Only the steps are green, though. We can say that there’s green light shining from above to make it appear green. This green light can also be seen on the backs of the men.

It is also worth mentioning that @rainibao has pointed out that, in the flashes, the people are ascending the stairs:

Moreover, the green light is lost here, and we’re left with a gloomy frame full of neutral colors against a plain red background. This also happens in the part of the song where the tension builds up and Vein is about to go crazy. This is definitely relevant, seeing as in the YE3 nightmare, Lu Guang finds himself in a red room and Vein finally catches him.

Something something about Green and Order (men obediently going down the stairs; Vein forcing Lu Guang down a green hallway), and Red and Punishment (men going up the stairs as the tension builds up, Vein catching Lu Guang in a bloody room).

Anyways… Is Red up? And Green down? Or, going by the green being light from above, then is Green up and Red down? I still can’t say...

Why does it matter what direction they are?

Because in Mandarin Chinese, time is viewed in a vertical fashion. The past is above you, while the future is below you. Knowing whether red/green is up/down can help us ground ourselves in this time travel show.

There’s also this:

Red light on Lu Guang; Green light on Cheng Xiaoshi.

I’ve always found the color assignment here odd because in traffic light language, Green means go, while Red means stop. Shouldn’t CXS, who is already dead, be the one in Red since his time has stopped? They even made it a point to color him in cold neutral colors without the green light shining on him, as if to hammer in the point that he’s dead (in contrast to Lu Guang who is in warm colors when not under the red light). (It was too difficult to get a screenshot of this, but I remember seeing a draft of this animation sequence where CXS was clearly transitioning from grey to colored, while LG was more warm to colored. If anybody can find that again, please send me a link!)

Anyways, if Green Cheng Xiaoshi is Dead, then does that mean Green is Future/Down? Red Lu Guang would then be Past/Up, signifying him going back in time.

But this doesn’t align with the nightmare sequence, where Green is Up and Red is Down… But then again, it was a nightmare. Can we even trust it? Can we trust anything in this show???

Or maybe Red/Green is constantly cycling between Up/Down. Maybe one moment Red is Up and Green is down, while in the next it’s reverse. An indication of time being a closed loop in Link Click?

Naruto Live Spectacle (and Road of Naruto)

The first two parts of Naruto Live Spectacle run for two hours. The first one retells the first part of the manga, and the parts that do not directly relate to the main storyline (Naruto and Sasuke) are cut out. There are completely no Chunin exams arc and Tsunade search arc. But the Land of Waves arc is shown quite fully there, with all the necessary dialogues about the "most precious" and love and power. Clearly, the priority is on themes and content, rather than battles and events. Next comes the battle with Gaara (which also contains dialogues about love from Yashamaru) and VOTE1. This is probably the best option for adapting the first part in two hours.

The situation is similar with the second part, which adapts the first four arcs of Shippuden. There's nothing that doesn't include Sasuke. There is no Kazekage rescue arc and Team 8's battle against Akatsuki (but there is the creation of a Rasenshuriken). But all the quarrels between Naruto and Sai about Sasuke are included, lol. Priorities here...

This is a kind of Sasuke Shippuden tbh, his arc with Itachi is central here. It's obvious that the director is a Sasuke fan.

Some scenes legally look like a Romeo and Juliet production.

I immediately remembered the PV "Road of Naruto", which also briefly retells Naruto. Everything there consists of battles and there is almost nothing beyond them in general. And there is a very strange prioritization. Chunin exams take the most time (1:55 minutes out of 9:30) there. The Fourth Shinobi World War is mainly shown in a slide show. The battle against Madara at the end lasts 4 seconds, like???

But the funniest thing there is the Kage Summit arc. It SCREAMS that the director hates Sasuke because... Well, first there are intentionally several seconds about how Gokage kicks Sasuke's ass, and not the other way around, and then the emphasis is on all his "terrible crimes" in this arc. In particular, the attack on Sakura, who attacked him first, lol. This is the most disgusting summary you can think of.

I just like the comparison of these two summary. They have a different format, but that's not even the main difference. They focus on different things and it is obvious from them how their creators see "Naruto" as a whole.

Okay! So I rewatched the episode 11 PV again and I have a theory.

Based on the order of the scenes and how the other PVs are ordered, it pretty much goes through each scene chronologically. In other words, the final moment in the PV with Rei and Kazuki will happen after he gets shot. So, here’s what I think happens.

Rei is ordered to kill Kazuki. He’s forced to bring Ogino with him, like in his last mission.

When they reach Kazuki’s location, Ogino takes the shot but ends up missing and/or does so on purpose to ask for Kazuki’s final words, but when he’s about to take the killing shot, Rei puts his gun against Ogino’s head, which is why he looks so shocked in this frame.

This explains why Kazuki is so nonchalant in this frame because Rei has his back. Just like always because he’s his partner.

Which leads to the final scene. Ogino is going to die this episode but that officially makes them traitors of the organization. Kazuki probably doesn’t understand what happened or that Rei was given special orders to kill him.

It’s only when Rei spells it out that his boss directly demands he die that Kazuki fully understands what just happened and that Rei risked everything and went against everything to protect him. It will also jumpstart their mission to end the organization because there’s no going back now. Rei chose Kazuki- his family- over his family legacy.

Which leads me to the significance of the episode title, “Everyone Will Be Hypocrites.” Rei goes against his training because he has changed. Rei was taught to be emotionless from birth. He was treated and raised to be a killing machine, a tool, not a person. But now, because of Kazuki and because of Miri, he has found love and learned to love; he’s now going to fight for it. Thus, making him the biggest hypocrite of them all.

Pv and MC are in a normal relationship (like, pv isnt a yandere yet) but MC starts to feel that pv is always busy and cares about his fight with dark enchantress more than he cares for them. This goes on for a while and after some miscommunication because of MC not telling ov how they feel, MC decides that they want a divore.

Pv is heartbroken but accepts when the desicion is first made, MC thinks it is a mutual agreement. But as the divorce progresses, pv starts to overthink the situation and starts to hate the idea of divorcing MC. He thinks that it is his fault and convinces himself that if he only pays attention to mc, if he spoils them maybe they could live him again

Before the divorce could finalize, he ends up locking mc in his castle going full yandere mode (possibly trying to kill the poor lawyer)

"I just think you prioritize the upcoming war more than our marriage, and I think it's best that we part." MC mumbled, keeping themselves at a slight distance from him. Their expression showed no emotion, other than the slight awkwardness of the statement itself.

For a moment, he was silent; thinking of the possible split. He decides it may be the best after all, no matter how much of a shadow it brings upon his life. It is true that the war has taken up his mind. "Alright. I accept your proposal." His eyes close once more, and instead his staff's eye opens: directly staring at them with its single eye.

"Great. We can start arranging the documents and legal process soon." They then left his study, leaving him to wander within his own thoughts. He sat there on his chair, blankly. staring at the cup of tea on his desk. Until the tears started to flow. He couldn't help himself as he started to cry quietly.

Over the next few weeks, the two had multiple meetings with a lawyer, to divide anything if they had to, and what the future in the becoming would be like. MC happily went through the process, wanting their divorce to go through smoothly. After all, Pure Vanilla had agreed to it without any complaints or breakdowns.

Or so they thought.

Meanwhile, Pure Vanilla was miserable. Every night he lay awake in his bed, staring up at the ceiling. In his deep thoughts, he's come to the conclusion that if he were to give them all of his attention and his affection, they would be happy again. Their marriage could be saved, and they wouldn't have to go through this idiotic process of a divorce.

Yes, he would stop the split. He won't let them leave. He needs them more than he needs the return of White Lily. Night or day, it doesn't matter; he'll keep his eyes trained on them for every second. But with the divorce already in process, what can he do? They're already planning to leave him...

Unless if he forcibly keeps them. Yes that'll do. They might have a fight or two, but it's alright, his love will fix them right up. Then they can have a lovely marriage again!

The night before the lawyer came to let them sign their divorce papers, Pure Vanilla carefully carries MC to their ex-martial bed, a wicked smile plastered on his face the entire time. He gives them a little peck on their forehead, before going to the robot cellar not too far from the castle.

The following day, MC woke up, and found themselves in Pure Vanilla's their room, wondering how did they end up there. They go for the door, but when they try to open it, it was still tightly shut. What was going on?

They look out the nearby window, and notice a hoard of wafflebots guarding the castle, one even not far from the balcony just outside. Speaking of window, why was it barred? It's not enough to restrain the view of the landscape a far, but the gaps are too small to get a cookie through.

The more time they spend observing things, the more they feel like they're in a jail cell.

Just then, someone enters: Pure Vanilla himself. He was holding a tray of tea and biscuits/crackers. "Ah bluebell, you're awake! I hope your sleep was lovely, dear." He sets down the platter, approaching them.

They step back, a bit fearful of everything. "Pure Vanilla, how did I get here?" Their voice is a bit shaky, their eyes glancing around the room rapidly.

"Oh that doesn't matter, my dearest. Now come, let me hold you." He hugs them tight before they could step away, pressing an affectionate kiss to their cheek. "I miss being able to hold you like this."

MC, a little uncomfortable at the sudden barrage of the affection, tries to gently push him away. "Pure Vanilla, what's gotten into you all of the sudden?" He hadn't given them much attention for months now, why was he all lovey-dovey right at this moment?

He pulls them right back to his chest, holding them even firmer than before. He whispers, "You wanted more attention right? So I'm giving it to you." He nuzzles their cheek, unbelievably close. "We're not going to have a divorce. I'm going to be your husband forever and ever."

Ok, so here's the thing: For a while now I've already had a suspicion that Hong Lu's deal is like, way more important than he lets on.

This might sound like a conspiracy Game Theory Matpat rant, but here me out.

First of all, Hong Lu has this weird tendency to break patterns in much less obvious ways than the other suspicious Sinners, to the point it's been driving me insane?

Like.

Okay.

First.

Remember those promo PVs of each Sinner? And how each of them ended on a glimpse of their trauma and All of them either directly referenced a potentially traumatic event or had the Sinner sound distraught? Except for Hong Lu, who doesn't sound in any way distressed like the others did, and then after the game logo is revealed he asks if something he said was weird.

Like, sure, it does make sense for him to say that in context of what he says during that video, but isn't it so fucking weird that the one Sinner with a section in his promo that seems slightly off is also the one who asks if anything he said during that section was weird?

Second.

You know those intro segments during the prologue, that are also on the official limbuscompany.com website? The ones that offer managerial instructions for each Sinner?

Pay close attention to those. For every Sinner, these instructions specify how to deal with that specific Sinner's eccentricities.

Don't show Gregor your disgust. Wait for Rodya's bad mood to pass. Give Sinclair positive reinforcement. Wait patiently for Yi Sang to finish thinking. Look Ishmael's way for sound advice, but don't break her trust. Understand Heathcliff is simple-minded and contact HR if he causes problems. Play along with Don's Fixer act. Don't make Ryoshu breed personal resentment towards you. Give clear and concise commands to Meursault. Give Outis short replies of agreement but keep an eye on her. Simply nod and get it over with when conversing with Faust.

...But then there's Hong Lu's. Which says nothing how to deal with his eccentricities, but rather to not let Other Sinners get physical with him over them. It's not about keeping him in line, it's about keeping other people's reactions to him in line.

I want to note this especially because several other Sinners break patterns in their introductions as well. Meursault's is one sentence. Ryoshu and Outis have a warning. Don Quixote's particulars include a [REDACTED] on the website. Faust's directly asks the manager to fuck around and find out. However, the way Hong Lu's intro instructions break the pattern is the most subtle out of all of them, to the point I genuinely did not realize that was the case until I had read all of them over multiple times.

Third.

Hong Lu's Base E.G.O animation. If you watch all of the Base E.G.O animations in a row, you'll notice that for all of them, the Sinners start already in frame... Except for Hong Lu, who visibly jumps into the frame from off-screen.

Now, you could argue that, technically, Don runs into her animation from off-screen as well, however I think there is a bit of a difference here. Don's animation is too quick to see her actually run in. We see she's not there for maybe a frame, before she pops with an animation that implies she had just run in and needs to break her momentum. This is unlike Hong Lu's, whom we Actively See descend from Off-Screen.

Now, I know what some of you may be thinking.

That I am coping. That these are coincidences. That I'm looking too deeply into things.

However. Here's a connection that I just recently realized, that has been Fucking Me Up.

Mild spoilers for Canto IV and like the first two chapters or so of Dream of the Red Chamber, if anyone cares.

You know how Limbus Company has this... fixation on stars? There's the whole thing with Dante following a star, stars granting wishes, people turning into weird beings from wishing to be stars, and there's this general connection to the sky and space because of Demian also doubling as a reference to The Little Prince.

And then something weird hit me.

See, Dream of the Red Chamber starts with a bit of a backstory to the jade that would later be reincarnated into Bao-yu. You see, it was one of the many stones used by a godess to create the sky. However, this one specific jadestone ended up being the only one not used in that creation, which then led to it feeling horrible about itself, which then led to a monk and a taoist deciding to have that stone reincarnate as a human and live through a human life, kickstarting the rest of the novel.

I'm like, heavily simplifying this, but that's the gist of how that whole thing starts.

Which. Made me think. A jadestone that was part of the ones meant to build the sky, but ended up being left unused. The sky. Stars. Hong Lu being seemingly named after the jade rather than Bao-yu directly.

Holy shit there's no way they won't reference this in some way, right? Right?

So, now imagine me, at my fucking wit's end, having the biggest crackpot theory brewing in my mind.

And you send this ask comparing K Corp Hong Lu to Carmen.

My understanding of pv bridgette

Before Zag was ready to be released, I felt it was important to say what I thought of bridgette, which really risked creating a disconnect between my character and his starting point.

I analyzed bridgette frame by frame, and I did not like to use the official setting to investigate, but to see the performance and understanding by myself.

First I release headcanon leads to an understanding of the nature of the character.

The two pictures show that bridgette likes purple and red.

And like warm colors.

And from the hat on the back, you can see that there must be a costume design factor.

Her artistic interests are not limited to fashion design. She may also like listening to music. What's more, the tickets in bridgette's hand are more like concert tickets than movie tickets, which may be the same hobby of felix and bridgette.

(Tears, I understand, as two tickets are very expensive, leading to a little regret that she acted impulsively again)

She is not very good at social interaction, and even has some odd behaviors, so she is always observing in circles (and the first impression is more admiration, and if bridgette is an art student, she will indeed be interested in felix's features and body proportions).

It can also be seen that she sometimes acts too impulsively, so she is more strange than she is cheerful and lively.

So I don't see her as someone who is naturally in the normal human zone.

As depicted in the graph below (so marinette and bridgette are indeed different souls and different people under this analysis)

Things go wrong more because of bad luck than carelessness.

The Tuesday and Vertin scene damn. The fact that Tuesday actually gets a kick out of it also is terrifying, like the last horror patch we had Jessica, the jump between Jessica to Tuesday was crazy.

Also props to Scarlet Grace, Vertin's va here; I know Tuesday did think Vertin did not have any fear here but I don't think that was the case. As Ive said before Vertin's fear is being in a position that she is helpless to save others, a position where she promises salvation that she cannot truly grant: Issabella, the Ring and Schnieder specifically as the trigger in CH.2 that led us to see the Breakaway Incident in her dreams.

Imma pick through Vertin's line delivery here:

Initially she is frustrated by Tuesday: "stop trying to get in my way and tell me where Argus is". As along as she can focus on helping and saving others she can hide her own fears and anxieties. Realising she was using the voices of Ring and Issabella probably put her back to the Oranges scene, so she focuses on the situation at hand, Argus being in danger of sorts. Focus on the safety of others and yourself.

When Tuesday questions why Vertin is afraid of the Storm Vertin is more frustrated and almost angry (I emphasise almost): "pulverising people under the crushing wheel of time". You can hear Vertin's voice actually waver at "pulverise", she feels helpless that in the past countless others she has met before have been taken by the Storm. How many experiments? How many times has she pulled someone into the suitcase and only find their clothes where there were hands? "You should be thankful you've never seen it". Someone has mentioned before but Vertin is emotionally repressed, therefore seeing what we percieve as normal show of anger is noticeable, her agitation at Tuesday, even if Tuesday did not notice it, showed that Tuesday did pick out her fear directly, hitting a nerve almost.

"We have the umbrella now": I think partially this is Vertin overcoming her trauma slowly but not entirely. Saying this aloud almost sounds like an attempt to reaffirm herself, the umbrella WILL work, it HAS to work. Don't get me wrong, the umbrella can now protect people despite the many who didn't make it to this point... But wasn't she in a similar mindset after realising Regulus was saved by the suitcase?

(Maybe deep down she still fears the umbrella might not be enough, but regardless right now it is the best solution to the Storm)

2.1 showed that Vertin is still haunted by the fact that she could not save many, despite the great strides and the creation of the Umbrella. (Again this HAS to work, so many people had sacrificed themselves for this to work)

Now what about 2.2? I think as early as CH.1 Vertin as shown uncanny willingness throw her life away for others if it meant saving them (pushing Sonetto and Mariam away and getting captured by Manus). She is now in the best position she can find her mother now, spending so far the most of the 2.0 story looking for Urd.

However it is already clear from the 2.2 PV she is in real danger now (everyone having a holiday whilst shes literally fighting for her life is ironic). And Anjo Nala's trailer has already shown the violence this new Manus is willing to go through to meet means and ends. Plus the fact that 2.1 hints with Stephen Vertin likely has a target painted on her back with Arcana's death. Arcana never needed to resort to physical violence with Vertin, largely emotional damage but this isn't Arcana now but new members of Manus with an actual vendetta against the person they see as the murderer of their saviour.

What am I getting at? We are almost in the same position as we were in CH.1:

Resolve at the fact that we have a way to save people from the storm: the suitcase and umbrella

Meet character/s that reluctantly side with the Manus: Schnieder/ Druvis and Anjo Nala

Faced with an enemy we cannot decipher their true intentions: Arcana and the new Manus, Order of Enlightenment and Apostles Brotherhood.

And a situation again where Vertin is somehow isolated from her allies: saving Mariam and being separated by the collapsing wall vs Vertin being somehow corned by a Zeno(?) officer and strangled almost to death by Anjo Nala

The true wildcard here is Bessmert/ Martha/ Urd here. Likely I have a feeling this is only part one, similar to In Our Time.

Crazy prediction: Green Oranges scene but worse either this patch or the next mainline patch.

(Summary: props again to Vertin's va, Vertin is being put through the works, Im either delulu or are we beginning to see parallels in the beginning of the 2.0 story to the beginning of the 1.0 story?)

(there's also Zeno's place in the story, I really only speculate they might be taken over by Manus or severely damaged in the 2.0 story as a way to rise stakes by crippling a major part of the Foundation's military capability, its looking clear with 2/3 new characters being in Zeno/ or affliated with Zeno that we are gonna get more on Zeno so thats nice)

Astruc’s bullshittery: Debunking his tweets

Astruc’s tweets and claims about Felix is something I would never understand. He contradicts himself, for what? To make people hate Felix?

Case 1:

Sure he isn’t referring directly to this “version”. But when the PV was made, the concept of polar opposites was established, even shown through the early storyboards with Chat Noir presenting Ladybug with candles. It may not be a curse here yet, but it shows that Chat Noir was always meant to genuinely love Ladybug.

So it proves that the concept of Felix pretending to love Ladybug is a very “one-off” idea. Heck, even in the PV, you can see Felix being quite eager to transform. Does he look cursed to you?

Lastly, the existence of the 2012 bible is evidence that it’s possible to make Felix/ Chat Noir have an ulterior motive behind being flirtatious yet at the same time not moving away from his love for Ladybug.

Case 2:

In what way is this mysterious and evil? Again, even though Felix has the “Adrien” name in the bible, it’s obvious that Astruc is separating Felix (suit wearing, dark personality boy) with Adrien (the canon one).

It is true that Felix may be a bit evil, with that one singular image of him dropping an apple on Marinette’s head. But it’s a super early concept that isn’t present in the bibles (further supported by the fact they are shown to be able to use powers without transformation, and Felix being a pure misfortune manipulator.), meaning the idea didn’t reach that far into pre production.

That version of Felix is also shown more in Quantic Kids concepts, and even then, he was shown being slightly affectionate towards Marinette (cue that image of him smiling at her).

Instead of mysterious and evil, Felix had been long moulded more into someone who is driven, confident and dark (sarcastic). There’s way more art and descriptions depicting him that way.

Astruc even contradicts himself here when he says he cannot imagine Marinette liking Felix because it’s so clearly stated here why she does.

Not only that, Felix is written to have a soft side which he doesn’t show others. He even has fondness towards Marinette. But he doesn’t allow himself to fall in love. This means he actually sees himself falling for her if he gets distracted.

Overall, Felix might have underwent a very rough patch with him being mysterious and evil like what Astruc says (though in the fandom this version is often referred to as Nathan), but the development of his character shows that there was a lot of focus on improving Felix.

The time where Felix officially “became” Adrien is a few months after the earliest bible we have, where you can see the most changes being applied to the “Adrien” name. He doesn’t have a picture attached to the description (showing how they were still coming up with his design), he’s Papillon’s son, and has the goal of wanting to fit in rather than healing his leg. This is “Adrien” and no longer “Felix”.

Based on what Astruc said, he came up with “Adrien” because blah blah blah, but the Felix we’re seeing in the earliest bible is the same Felix he was dealing with before he came up with “Adrien”. Which, in my opinion, had quite a bit of depth to him that could be written well.

So is Astruc just straight up lying/ exaggerating Felix’s development and character in order to justify his decision to replace him with Adrien?

Adrien is significantly easier to write about as he’s more one dimensional, whereas Felix has a lot more inner conflict happening.

Maybe that’s why Astruc said: “Try writing Felix for 72 episodes”. He’s admitting to being a bad writer :/

In your opinion, who is the weakest ancient?

Hollyberry in terms of feats…I think?

Look, I’m not calling this in Game terms, in game terms the worst is Dark Cacao (Aka Devsis should REALLY improve Cacao as a charge cookie)

But in Lore terms, technically all the Ancients are equal in power to each other. Seeing the scene with Hollyberry and Dark Cacao fighting in ‘The Council of Heroes’ Pure Vanilla and DE’s fight during the opening cutscene and Golden Cheese’s sheer will of building a whole digital city using the souls of everyone in her city, I’d say that most of them are equal in terms of power…

So in terms of feats, Hollyberry or Pure Vanilla would be the weakest I believe.

In terms of all the characters’ origin stories,

Pure Vanilla received his Soul Jam some time during a Pilgrimage or before a Pilgrimage and lead cookies down the Sugar-Free Road/Path, and once the journey concluded, started building a kingdom using his Soul Jam alone. (I think, since that’s what Clotted Cream implied the Soul Jam could do)

However prior to Pure Vanilla even taking the Pilgrimage, he first had to graduate in Blueberry Yogurt Academy, which is implied to have been a school that was for people gifted in magic. (Like Parfaedia but has forbidden magic and shit) Pure Vanilla and White Lily Cookie were both gifted in their own ways, to the point where Pure Vanilla would purposefully get himself a lower score so that White Lily could be the top student. Overall, both Pure Vanilla and White Lily were skilled in Dark Moon Magic. Where Pure Vanilla was implied to have used Dark Moon Magic during the Final Battle with DE.

Along with learning Dark Moon Magic, he is also skilled in Light Magic/White Magic, which gives him properties like Restoration and Healing magic. In addition to that, it is likely that this magic also grants protection magic, amplifies physical skills and is useful against Black Magic. (As Pure Vanilla told Financier Cookie that he too was ‘blessed by the Light’)

The only flaw he has is that he only uses his magic to benefit other cookies and does not seek to use it for harm, only in rare occasions such as fighting Dark Enchantress Cookie, is when he steps in and uses his magic… (Makes sense since he’s basically based off JESUS-)

Next to White Lily Cookie who’s skills might even surpass Pure Vanilla Cookie. She was academically smart and could even learn Dragonsworn (How the hell do you spell this) She was always a curious soul, with us barely knowing a thing about her other than her power as Dark Enchantress Cookie.

Even then, DE is POWERFUL, being able to summon 3 monsters that would’ve turned the Creme Republic into ruins if the Ancient Heroes hadn’t arrived, note to mention she notably BEAT them the first time, forcing PV to destroy the Soul Jams in an effort to win the war. (Yes they WERE destroyed and little bits and pieces scattered across Earthbread, as confirmed by Clotted Cream and Hollyberry)

If my theory is correct, that if cookies that are directly made by Earthbread’s ‘godly beings’ (Witches and Wizards) They are much stronger than the cookies in Earthbread because the original inhabitants were just the crumbs of Earthbread. Which means that if DE was rebaked from the Witches, she must’ve had a MASSIVE power boost…so much so that it took GINGERBRAVE to stop her because as he was baked by a Witch directly, he was just as strong as DE.

Next would be Dark Cacao and WOAH BOY THIS MAN-

Dark Cacao defeated not one, but TWO dragons in his youth alone, so much so that the people described it as Dark Cacao ‘SHATTERING NIGHT AND DAY’ Which in most Asian countries that could allude to Dark Cacao being a god of some sort. (Or an over exaggerated version of lightning)

He was able to build a kingdom despite its poor conditions and funding (As Dark Cacao’s Kingdom is actually very poor, relying on Hollyberry and Pure Vanilla’s Kingdom’s to fund for supplies since even food was scarce in his Kingdom)

All the rules in his Kingdom seem to stem from survival alone, it’s hard combat styled military originally being from a state of survival.

Dark Cacao fought his son, three times and twice did he avoid death, Dark Choco sliced him off before getting banished and fell off the HIGHEST wall and fucking survived WITHOUT his Soul Jam. After that, when on to fight his son, AND the Licorice Sea like he didn’t fall off a fucking Wall moments prior, like I’d expect the guy to have AT LEAST memory loss, but no, this guy walked up to his sword and started fighting without question, my guy was even implied to have been POISONED by Affogato and he was still going on like a champ.

Other than that, Berserk Cacao is implied to have been the power of his Soul Jam, using the sheer might of his will to escape Pomegranate’s spell alone, Berserk Cacao is implied to be a defense mechanism or at least a strong defense desire to be released from the spell that gave his son SO MUCH TRAUMA.

As seen with Golden Cheese, the Soul Jam can give a cookie they’re deepest desires, if the cookie chooses to, that said since Dark Cacao DEEPLY desired to defend himself from the magic and the forces that dare seek to harm him, he turned into Berserk Cacao.

Then, we have Golden Cheese, and honestly? Even in game she’s so FRUSTRATING to fight, my girl got worshiped as a goddess to the point even her origins are god-like. She created a whole digital world with her Soul Jam alone, BY HERSELF, and hid it from everyone else.

Though she is greedy, she is still powerful, as much as the Digital Realm might have fulfilled any desire she wished, it makes me wonder if it could actually achieve such feats in the real world. I’m not finished with her chapter yet. (Mostly because 18-20 is KICKING MY ASS) It’s clear that SHE IS POWERFUL.

As for Hollyberry, her feats include fighting dragons…a lot of dragons…she was implied to have been a dragon hunter some time either before or after she became queen. Earning the alias ‘Pinkyberry Cookie’ even then ‘Pinkyberry Cookie’ was a famous dragon hunter next to Tarte Tatin Cookie. Hollyberry was also able to walk through Beast Yeast, implying that she met Tea Knight Cookie there or something (I don’t remember if she met him in Beast Yeast or outside Beast Yeast) but compared to the rest?

Hollyberry’s only known notable combat is using her shield and fighting dragons…compared to the feats others have done.

Both Pure Vanilla and Hollyberry could be the weakest in terms of feats.

But in terms of power? All of them are at least equal, since they all have the same amount of power in their Soul Jams. I think when it comes to how each individual character wields their Soul Jam, it could make them the weakest?

In the end, I’m not really sure…

Epel left a big one because he wanted go make sure he lay claim on ace, but I think the only one who's going to notice and be all jelly over it is riddle, but than again maybe riddle can whip his dumb little freshmen to give him all hickies and to show ace, that as the queen. He (riddle) is the only one that should be made to feel good.  But I doubt epel would be amused and it'll be a fight with the shorties (like I'm one to talk)

Oh my god, the newest addition to this circus – Riddle!! I can picture him noticing it instead of Deuce and getting mad over it. The battle of shorties… 😭 We need Lilia-the-king-of-cute-shorties (and vampires) to settle this for these two by leaving both of them with tons of embarrassingly noticeable hickeys. Or maybe we should just leave Riddle with his dumb little freshmen, and Epel with his dumb big magift team; it’s not even about Ace and Deuce anymore…

(In actuality though, while I do agree that Riddle would get mad and probably more jealous than Deuce, I think he’d punish Ace directly instead… unexpected consequences of his silly actions!!)

Good question, Anon! And I get what you’re asking but I can’t help but think that all of our AUs are goofy and just for fun to some degree lol Even if it’s kind of serious and horror-themed, the clownery still happens.

But once again, I get what you’re asking! I can’t think of any TWST AU of this kind (other than us randomly talking to each other about what kind of kitties/doggies would everyone be, god I love those AUs lol), we did have some goofy ones for other fandoms. For example we had a couple in which a character was a plushie… Or the SnK one where human-sized titans went to a special titan school, that one was pretty goofy lol

But… then again… even those AUs turn out to be very cursed and sexual somehow… 😳

"Who... who are you?" A confused voice, a familiar voice but it lacks the mirth and twisted amusement that it normally should have. Instead, the cookie looking directly at Pure Vanilla within the Darkside of the Moon looked more akin to a lost scholar. "What are you doing in this dreary place?" | The Scholar has located PV~ )

The Darkside of the Moon... How many times have he visited this place now? The healer knew it was too many times however there was nothing he could do to stop it; not when he didn't have control.

Regardless, he always dreaded the place for a few good reasons with one being what was waiting in the darkness and who owned the place.

Soon his body tensed up when a familiar voice spoke out however there was also a bit of confusion on the healer's face as the tone didn't match the usual tone that he was used to and the question the voice asked was odd.

What...?

He turned his attention properly to the voice and the confusion only grew when instead of the jester's appearance that he was expecting; he was greeted by the Scholar instead.

Why was Shadow Milk using his past self appearance? And asking those questions to him? Was there a reason and if so; what purpose did it serve? Just what exactly was Shadow Milk up to now...?

There was only one way to find out.

"... Why are you asking those questions?" Pure Vanilla mumbled quietly, shuffling on the spot, and a frown on his face as it was clear his guard was up.
