Petty rant this morning- I can understand that somtimes even the nicest noises can be a nuisance, even painful, and believe me I have become cranky about all sorts of innocuous noises at the wrong time.

That being said, I have heard a surprising number of people complain about bellringers practising, when they moved into a house next to a mediaeval English church

#Oh I'm sorry we'll just move this twelfth-century bell tower somewhere that doesn't irritate you #Can it sometimes be a rather awful cacophony? Yes but they only get better if they practise #And even the worst noise of bells (from the distance of neighbouring houses not the tower) is better than car engines and drunk arguments #And bellringing is such a magnificent piece of craft and tradition; it's worth preserving even above and beyond any religious role #Though to be fair all the bellringers I've met seem to hold bellringing as their chief religion and are indifferent at best to the church #So it's not even that much of a reminder of Christianity imo #Thouhg I suppose people could disagree #Anyway church bells were one of the best things about living in the south of England #Even when they were rattling away very untidily #I miss them so much being back in Scotland where we only have a handful of towers at best #and certainly don't have the longstanding tradition of ringing in small churches #I have to get my kicks from the Tolbooth clock and let me tell you it just isn't the same as hearing an English bell tower ringing up #Let alone actually ringing the changes #It's one of the few genuinely wholesome English traditions and you want to whine about the sound of BELLS #Not because it's a sensory issue or anything just because you don't like your lie-in being interrupted #But you'd expect your neighbours to put up with your noisy barbecues #Actually never even mind disruptive events like that- in my opinion the noise of your silly car idling in the driveway is worse than bells #You trying to fit your massive SUV down the tiny streets of a small English village #Is always worse than plain hunt

I‘m feeling strangely anxious, and not about maths. Rather my general anxiousness is increased by my lack of fear regarding the final maths exam. It feels so pointless and unreal. I just know already that I will not feel proud of my achievement if I pass. Then what‘s the point of succeeding, of doing anything really… I feel anxious because I am fickle and arrogant and my heart feels hollowed out. My imagination is so bright and fantastic that the world looks pale and bland, always. I want to be a reclusive wizard living in a wonky cramped castle with a magical garden and only mingle with people when they come knock at my door and ask me for help nicely (Then I would even offer my assistance for free). If that‘s not possible maybe I just kill myself

#I don‘t want to live as a human. I reject this shitty loud and polluted society. And I fucking hate the laws of nature.#Why do I need to have consciousness if I then can only watch the world like from a prison cell #So is conscience created organically? well the only way to find out is to die basically. but the likely answer is: yes #which I guess is fortunate. imagine being bodyless voiceless conscience. horror trip #being a ghost would be cool though. especially a poltergeist who can move stuff. I just got back from torturing myself with downtown Toronto traffic/drivers/cyclists to go to my favourite sex shop and pick up an order. Usually, I just wait for their super quick and efficient shipping to save me the anxiety, but it wouldn’t have arrived in time.

If he ever says I don’t care.. I WOULD NOT HAVE DONE THAT FOR MYSELF (my ass would have just waited but if I had waited, I wouldn’t have gotten it til next week, and I won’t be seeing him again for another 2 weeks after this weekend to be able to fulfill this fantasy for him).

My neighbour runs a scam company where he's basically a landlord for landlords (he works from home and takes all his calls in the garden so I get to hear his sale pitch on repeat and it's either a) nonsense or b) just lies) and they've been mildly annoying but like liveable as neighbours. (I mean they haven't fired bb pellets into our garden or thrown constant teen ragers so we can forgive the occasional 1am karaoke party.)

But now the prick has gotten himself a metallic purple lamborghini that he now every single fucking morning revs outside the fucking house at 10am bc he doesn't actually have a real job and then he drives it round the streets for like an hour or so and you can hear it coming back for like a full five minutes bc it's a VERY loud car and we live in a quiet suburb.

Every. Single. Morning.

If they didn't have cameras on their property like the arseholes they are I would very seriously consider pouring sugar in his petrol tank. 🙃🙃🙃
