actually can i say. if u keep consistently watching city planing traffic engineering vids on yt and yes specially that one guy. you mind find that they quickly become repetitive on the same subjects like. u will already have the tools to understand these concepts and get what the problems or successes are yourself

but im honessssssstly not sure thats what their for. like in the way u could watch endless... cooking videos or smth and hear a larger percent of new stuff. i think their fucking agit-prop. likeeee. i watch em and im yeah yeah its a stroad the roads to wide the speeds to high its not built at ppl scale. but it also REALLY MAKES ME WANNA RIDE MY BIKE! seeing like. gopro mount footage of commute cycling being commentated. and makes me notice the cyclers when im out walking <- im not brave enough yet. and go. SHIT I WANNA BE DOING THAT! And i think helpfully builds ur skills to like. look at a place u COULD cycle and figure out how dangerous it could be.

i hope they make the speed limit everywhere 30km per hour and we all get protected bikelanes. amen.

damn. my SUV gets over 20mpg in town when there's no traffic and I don't hit any red lights. for comparison my in-town MPG is usually around 12-14mpg. I really miss my old car that got 30mpg though :( I spend so much money on gas

#the only reason i have an SUV in the first place is bc my mom said she would pay the leftover $1300 for it if I got it and I needed the help #except it wasn't really ''help'' she was paying me back for a couple of years of claiming me and my kid on her taxes #which made me unable to claim him myself #since I live at her address & i'm disabled it's pretty easy to do that especially since I always procrastinate on my taxes like a mf #she's gotten over 10k from us at this point #so yeah it was either take the 1300 from my mom or i had to find something in worse condition for only 3k #her logic was that I would be safer in a bigger car so that's why she wanted me to have it. that is untrue unfortunately #it's not all bad. i've been able to help out so many people w my SUV. i've gotten paid for helping 4 different people move this year #.bdo

I love car dependent society I love giant highways I love every grass area in my city being turned into a giant parking lot I love having every place where kids and people with dogs always used to play being destroyed in order to have more space for cars I love crossing dangerous roads in order to get where I need I love giants slabs of concrete being prioritized instead of grass/bushes/trees

#the nice patch of grass under my home where we always played as kids and people always took their dogs for short walks #is currently being turned into a giant parking lot #making our apartment complex completely surrounded by parking lots from all sides #im having so many thoughts #we live in hell #i'm not even american #we actually have great public transport and most of the places you need to go to are at most 30 minutes walk #people here just love to get at least 3 giant cars per family even though our cities vere never build for it #i just fuckin hate how these people make it necessary to turn every goddamn patch of life into a slab of concrete for their giant cars #and even better is the fact that our roads aren't even made for them #the giant SUVs are literally destroying not only our cities but the literal roads as well because of how heavy they are #god i hate it here #anti car #car dependency #i hate cars

Petty rant this morning- I can understand that somtimes even the nicest noises can be a nuisance, even painful, and believe me I have become cranky about all sorts of innocuous noises at the wrong time.

That being said, I have heard a surprising number of people complain about bellringers practising, when they moved into a house next to a mediaeval English church

#Oh I'm sorry we'll just move this twelfth-century bell tower somewhere that doesn't irritate you #Can it sometimes be a rather awful cacophony? Yes but they only get better if they practise #And even the worst noise of bells (from the distance of neighbouring houses not the tower) is better than car engines and drunk arguments #And bellringing is such a magnificent piece of craft and tradition; it's worth preserving even above and beyond any religious role #Though to be fair all the bellringers I've met seem to hold bellringing as their chief religion and are indifferent at best to the church #So it's not even that much of a reminder of Christianity imo #Thouhg I suppose people could disagree #Anyway church bells were one of the best things about living in the south of England #Even when they were rattling away very untidily #I miss them so much being back in Scotland where we only have a handful of towers at best #and certainly don't have the longstanding tradition of ringing in small churches #I have to get my kicks from the Tolbooth clock and let me tell you it just isn't the same as hearing an English bell tower ringing up #Let alone actually ringing the changes #It's one of the few genuinely wholesome English traditions and you want to whine about the sound of BELLS #Not because it's a sensory issue or anything just because you don't like your lie-in being interrupted #But you'd expect your neighbours to put up with your noisy barbecues #Actually never even mind disruptive events like that- in my opinion the noise of your silly car idling in the driveway is worse than bells #You trying to fit your massive SUV down the tiny streets of a small English village #Is always worse than plain hunt
