what gave you the idea for borrowed time? did you have any other plans for it? (aka yap about it all you want)
so actually! i had been thinking about it conceptually for like two weeks before i wrote any of it (i was complaining to my sib about it cuz i was embarrassed to write since i hadn’t since i was a preteen/young teen lol) and it just drove me absolutely nuts cuz i couldn’t stop thinking about it at work.
just gonna establish now since it gets confusing: greg ≠ gregory. i treat them as two different characters in the same body. so i will not use them interchangeably on this ask, just like i don’t in my fic
cut because i am going to YAP
i wrote chapter one as an attempt to stop myself from thinking about it further (i was originally going to kill tony off and have it be a oneshot, either post-pizzaplex escape much like security breach’s bad ending c̶u̶z̶ ̶s̶o̶u̶l̶m̶a̶t̶i̶s̶m̶ or have him end up getting chased to the fire escape and yk, you can fill in the blank on that one. blah blah blah insert something here about tony’s very interesting, incredibly weird intro in the book. i’m still trying to figure that one out cuz other themes in the book [the celtic stuff specifically. this is a huge thing for me and i can go off about how it’s used in the book, but that’s for another post if yall want that] make that interesting if we didn’t know how ggy kills from the therapist tapes. actually, even though you can’t see it, this is how he dies in my cotard’s solution animatic. the knife in it wasn’t for killing him lol, his ass went off the roof [hence “i wanna make my murder look like a suicide”], but now i’m getting sidetracked). but one thing led to another and i wrote chapter 6 and the epilogue.
Chapter 4 was my last written chapter (hence why i don’t bother uploading individual chapters and just drop whole stories at once) if you don’t count editing several parts of chapter 1 (small tweaks for clarity purposes, not huge minus what i mentioned above. debated making this one two chapters but ended up keeping them together as a big one cuz it didn’t make as much sense when split up) and chapter 5 (i originally wrote the car ride to the pizzaplex cuz i thought it would be funny to make tony flip a tit and go hellaciously slow with the fear that he’d get pulled over cuz yk. twelve. but i figured it was too boring and discarded it).
the original title was actually a different song name. (super embarrassing but it was a hollywood undead song -another way out. i might use this later for a different, more fitting fic- cuz it helped me come up with a lot of the smaller details within chapter 1)
i did name it after the song from the death note musical cuz it can be interpreted about being about both tony and gregory. i meant it about gregory personally cuz at the end he quite literally is living on borrowed time (since tony’s death is the reason he’s able to get away from vanny. very remisa.), but tony is too throughout the entire fic, since obviously it’s an extension of his original implied lifespan (you’re welcome, you little shit.) and also cuz he’s putting up with (and being worn down by) greg’s shit the entire time in order to save gregory, even at the risk of his own safety, and i think that lines up really well too.
the chapters also all had individual names but too many were deathnote so i got embarrassed (og title of chapter 4 was the game begins lol, which is why the last sentence of chapter 3 was what it was)
color was SOOOO important. like the names i used were incredibly specific. i really wanted to emphasize how dead greg’s eyes are vs gregory, also how tony was losing steam cuz yk. traumatizing.
i based tony’s mom on mine lol. and she and my sib picked up on that immediately after they both read it (i didn’t have a beta cuz i didn’t take criticism or editing, but i did let them read it immediately) i know she doesn’t check on tony in the book when he sneaks out, but i figured that’s her giving him space, and i loveeeee projecting so that was reflected in the mom parts. mother’s instinct and all that. she totally knew greg was weird after the first night, he wasn’t just bullshitting on that part, but again, space (and yet another projection from a specific experience of my own).
greg. let’s fucking talk about greg. FIRST, he was gonna kill tony’s ass the whole time, despite chapter 4’s events. that was him being manipulative because i just don’t think greg *wouldn’t* notice tony’s behavior. as i wrote, he’s NOT subtle, even in actual canon. he meant what he said when he called him useful, and he certainly didn’t like feeling rejected, but don’t let him fool you, he doesn’t actually like tony. tony actually mentions this in chapter 2 as a possibility and much like his instincts in the actual book, he was right. it was just about dragging it out to make it worse on tony and getting something out of him as a bonus. i like to think of him as building on gregory’s original personality cuz virus, so he’s not that different, but he’s like,, worse if that makes sense. like the worst parts of gregory, amplified. with some killing, yk.
speaking of tony guessing, he was absolutely BULLSHITTING with the greg vs gregory shit. denial is not just a river, he just happened to be right. cuz seriously, he was two seconds from cracking anyway, i mean little dude is SO traumatized, especially at this point.
so gregory. he was able to communicate when half asleep cuz i think that greg/the actual virus would want him to experience the nightmares and such (agony continuing to feed the virus. yk. fnaf shit) to keep him in line. so this is the small window of opportunity he would have to even be a person, much less attempt to save himself. he’s miserable in this state though cuz tired and unable to be fully awake lol. also he can see everything greg does, hence knowing tony and trusting him, but he can’t really do anything about it. he’s always present though.
ellis wasn’t in this besides mentions because of multiple reasons. 1, i wanted to make it clear how much greg was isolating him. like that’s on purpose. 2, it would’ve gotten too convoluted to have tony protecting both of them in this specific case. and 3, i knew i wanted it to loop to security breach, so ellis would’ve interfered with that unless i killed him off. regardless of the fact that i personally see him dying in addition to tony as the canon post-ggy events [cuz let’s be real, regardless of if he believed it, he read tony’s paper. that’s a loose end and a disaster for greg waiting to happen. i don’t think he would risk it, especially since tony’s immediate disappearance would be sus as fuck.], i didn’t feel like killing him off needlessly.
so i actually sobbed after re-reading the end. giggled and kicked my feet about how awful it would be while writing it, but rest assured, it kicked my ass after. like to the point that i considered scrapping it and letting them get out safe (which is where the AU with Sunlight on Your Skin came in), but i knew this was the proper ending for both of them. greg ended up getting his way in the most fucked up way (tony was useful.) but also failing in the same breath, tony got to save gregory (giving him a far more satisfying character arc than his original, meaningless death. also fulfilling the void left by the guilt from not being able to help his dad’s fate), and gregory got saved, even if it was a hollow, tragic “victory” for him.
also i originally was going to have greg fatally wound tony as he won the game, but i wanted to bring in vanny (cuz of the “friends” comment from the beginning and it being brought up again by greg in one of the middle chapters) cuz A) i love my wife and B) it felt /too/ sad and angsty to the point of overkill (no pun intended)
oh. and gregory does actually like tony back, he wasn’t just saying it cuz wanting to escape and then him dying. just so we’re all aware. maybe not at that point as much as tony does (and not as much as he does in sunlight on your skin’s au continuation, cuz actually actively getting to be himself would help.), but it would’ve worked out if tony didn’t yk, kick the bucket. sorry if that makes his death worse.

Listen I have a love/hate relationship with Cressida’s role the entire season. Love that she called out both Bridgerton siblings for their privilege, hate that these were conversations both sibs needed to have WITH Pen. Love how Cressida used LW to control her own fate and prove what people will do with that type of power, hate that bc it’s framed as something that would make no one “want” to take up that role, it’s again reiterated that this is something Pen has to apologize for and be ashamed of (like agreed the book version was definitely not working for a Shondaland drama… this woman has been terrorizing me since 2005…) but book!Pen at least got to tell the man she was in love with WHY her work was important to her. Her work, her cleverness, her savviness.
I was being completely unrealistic optimistic, hoping that the show would allow us (and Pen) even a moment of her happily owning her work, but you know I guess she and I will just have to settle watching her be absolutely adored by the only man she’s truly loved, inheriting her familial home, healing her family’s generational trauma, and earning the kind of money that was akin to most people’s inheritances.
it's a little crazy to me that people don't think the narrative doles out the proper "punishment" when it considers someone an actual antagonist.
cressida is an antagonist. if she had truly changed and been as good-hearted as penelope is, she wouldn't have been sent off in the end. they're very clear that penelope isn't the villain here. they said very loudly: "this is what happens when someone with bad intentions has the power penelope has."
had they given us more of penelope as LW as part of her character arc instead of using it all for drama, i think we might have had more layers to what it meant to her as a person instead of using it for relationship angst. tho that is more of an issue with earlier season's writing vs s3. s3 had to deal with what was already given to them and just how much eloise was brought into the LW plot overall. a big ask, probably.
i think the show's end where penelope is narrating and signs her name "penelope bridgerton" at the end is probably some version of that. LW is treated as power in the show itself, it has definitely gotten away from just being penelope's accomplishment by now.
oh no, we'll just have to bear the burden of knowing that she's beloved by her husband, her family, and got stacks of cash to her name. how will we make it through? we must be strong and persevere.😌
#asks#anon#polin#honestly i have seen the takes of people thinking pen should have given cressida the money to save her#and i'm like this woman bullied her for years and then blackmailed her#but okay sure cressida should never have any consequences only penelope#we see youuuuuu#cressida not having to marry an old man is her best outcome fr

I'm TRYING to re-think the order of some of the events in my RVB story-line, so it flows a little better as an actual plot (to be fair, the actual series would often leave the end of a season sort of up in the air, and come back with a non sequitur after a lot of time passes, so. shame on me for trying so hard, I guess). I have a lot more little details involved (I'll ramble about those below), but these are the BIG PICTURE aspects that everything else is framed around
The Interviews involve the Reds, Blues, former Freelancers, Doc, Locus, and a few friends from Chorus talking about what they've been through (with some flash-backs thrown in, showing what they aren't all telling). During the Vacations, Donut goes on a big spa-spree, the Grif sibs go back to Hawaii (without a big fuss, Kai may like the attention, but Grif doesn't want people bothering him about being the Famous Orange Soldier), Simmons tries to track down his family (he can't find them), Sarge goes back to sulk in Blood Gulch alone, Wash goes looking for the Triplets, Doc spends some time with Dr Grey and thinks about trying for a medical degree again, Lopez is allowed to just be by himself (and he's honestly kinda bored), Caboose goes back to the Moon, Tucker searches for Junior, Carolina attempts to dig up info about how deep Charon/Project Freelancer really got into all the crime BS, Locus tries to turn himself into the authorities on Chorus (being all "I deserve to die" about it) but Kimball gives him a "life sentence" of community service. Everybody misses each other, and are drawn back together like a bunch of planets caught in the same gravitational pull
-Sarge is contacted by a UNSC group that wants to give soldiers who were Sim Troopers and members of the Flag Zealots "new training", and he doesn't hesitate. He has fun with it for a while, and this is where he meets Poppy... she is how he finds out a lot of the people here were given the option "join this training program or face prison time", which really isn't much of an option at all. He thinks about how the Red VS Blue war was a lie, he thinks about Project Freelancer manipulating the agents, he thinks about Wash having a villain moment to avoid being locked-up, he thinks about Locus believing soldiers are supposed to kill without ever asking questions... and Papa Warcrimes decides he actually hates the military (it's a sign of the apocalypse!). Meanwhile, Carolina has finally gotten some leads about Charon, and she meets Junonia, who helps her find out more regarding the past and what Hargrove is still up to. Gene has also been around, trying to be a solo villain, but he's BARELY a one-man Team Rocket. Finally, the insidious purpose for all this new training is exposed, and Red Team (with their new member, Poppy) gets to have the spot-light when they fight the villain
-Everybody finally goes back to Earth together, and this time, a big celebration is held for their return. They spend most of their time out of armor on Earth, so the general public leaves them alone. Some fun shenanigans with everybody finding ways to amuse themselves (Sarge doesn't like going outside, the sky is too BLUE). Now that she knows where they are (thanks to the welcoming celebration), Tex finally catches up with everybody, revealing that when Epsilon Deconstructed, the information from his memories transferred back to the original Beta unit, reviving her. The Director had this whole plan for eventually bringing Allison back with a synthetic human body made from her DNA sample, but he could never make it "perfect" (Tex isn't an identical clone, more like a genetic "sibling" to Allison). She isn't the only one who found them; the parents Simmons went looking for finally show up (now that their son is a famous space hero). He's more than happy to get their attention, and they have him join their work at a bio-tech company (everybody else immediately recognizes the parents as a-holes, and the business as shady, but try telling Simmons that). Tex was initially hesitant to reveal the other AI Fragments were also revived, what with some left-over sore feelings regarding Sigma and Omega (Wash is ironically more willing to forgive them for everything; he wishes he had been able to do that BEFORE, instead of fighting against them as the Meta, and the whole spiral from there). Carolina talks through emotions with Sigma, and Omega compliments both Doc and O'malley for finding their back-bone. Everybody else is happy to get to know the Fragments better. Some Drama happens with the Reds, but Simmons finally sees his parents don't really care about him, and they all figure out that the bio-tech company has the original Alpha Unit hidden away. They rescue Church, who has the chance to be in his own synthetic body based on the Directors DNA (again, not identical, just similar)
-Everybody gets to CATCH THEIR BREATH, Caboose and Tucker have Church back, Church and Tex get to do people things, hooray! A distress call out there in space tricks Tucker into thinking Junior is in trouble, so he heads out to find his kid (most of the others join him, but a few stay behind because of recovering injures, etc). This turns out to be a trick, Hargrove and Temple are both being jerks. The rest of the gang arrives for a rescue, and Church has each of the Fragments assist his friends for the escape; for Hargrove, this was his attempt to test out a "new version" of scanning a mind to make his own AI (his tech is wonky, and will definitely kill people it scans). For Temple, he's under the impression that if he helps, he can have his own mind scanned, thus giving him a "recreation" of Biff from his memories. Hargrove REALLY wants people who have interacted with the AI Fragments as experiments, since he thinks there is important data to be found from minds like that. Temple just wants to kill the main group because he hates their guts, and it isn't FAIR, why do they get their dead friend back? Also, everybody finds the AI file for Sheila! When things settle down, Grif and Simmons talk, and at last they are on the same freaking page
-After the rescue, Hargove escapes again, and the group hears a distress call from Chorus. Some old problems are going on again, so they swing by to help out. Hargrove has one last-ditch effort to get what he wants in terms of AI experiments... Felix didn't just come back wrong, he came back WORSE. Well, everybody has the chance to work through some unresolved negative emotions aimed at him (Kimball, Locus, Tucker- everybody gets a stab in!). Felix wants to use his sword again, but it recognizes him as "dead". He tries to use a temple that "revives echoes" for key holders, but this just gives him a ghost of Doyle ("It was mine before it was yours"). The Echo also brings back other AI like Santa, who have been programmed to make certain events happen... while everybody tries to deal with Felix AND finally catch Hargrove for good, the Echo creates a whole third problem. At last, a group of aliens arrive, alerted by the Echo, and in the group is- Junior!
-Some happy family reunion time for Tucker and his boy. Junior explains what he's been doing for so long; he wasn't trying to avoid his father, but there are dangerous groups out there trying to kill him, and he's been hiding while also trying to save others. The strange "prophecy" about him, as well as things involving a "Great Destroyer" is indeed true (Gary admits he kind of just made up what it was about, but it really WAS real!) have become more urgent. Somebody who wants to take over and wipe-out anybody who opposes them has been targeting Junior. There are also many other half human/aliens like him, an attempt to create as many potential "prophecy children" as possible, but all were rejected by their human parents and only seen as tools by the other aliens (except for Junior, who is actually loved by his dad... even though they haven't been able to spend much time together). Another temple out in space supposedly has the power to give "continuous life", and the villain intends to use that to win. Tucker and the others try to protect Junior, but the temple doesn't work the way they all think...
-Back on Earth again, life seems to give them all a break... but unusual things begin happening. It eventually becomes clear that there are "new AI gods" toying with them (some are just playful, a few are genuinely malicious). This involves somewhat amusing, if a little annoying, shenanigans (like Wash getting turned into a cat, and a tiny 7-year-old Sarge showing up), but also very dangerous situations. Alternate time-lines and realities collide, some arguably "worst-case scenarios"
-It finally becomes necessary to confront the cause of all this. The group gets pulled into a pocket dimension where a lot of realities intersect. One AI god demands people fight for their amusement, and the winner will get to return to the "reality they want". The group really just wants weird paradox stuff to STOP. Church, Tex, and the Fragments figure out a way to keep everybody from dying, even the enemies they have to fight, until they have the chance to take on the one trying to control everything. Just when it seems like that issue is solved... Donut throws up. Weird, cosmic throw-up, like if the big-bang was a liquid. Being the one who has been traveling through time and reality the most, he's kind of absorbed a LOT of cosmic energy, and he can't control it. A big monster-transformation happens, but everybody figures out how to fix it so they can save Donut. Are we done? Are we DONE now???
-Yes. Everybody has the chance to live their lives, whatever that means for each of them. They get to be happy. Sometimes, bad things still happen, it can be difficult and unpleasant to live- but they still LIVE. Eventually, they pass on too (and that also means different things for some of them). When all is said and done, they're mostly glad they all got to be here~

16 and 18 {and 10 if you'd like} for Erik and Christine maybe?? <3
16) If they've partnered up with another regressor or flip, are they the big or little sib?
Erik and Christine both regress to the same age! They take turns taking care of each other when they're both small: Erik is good at calming Christine down and Christine is good at getting snacks, so they manage to toddle around together when one or both of them is feeling okay.
18) How different are they compared to when they regress vs. when they act as cg?
Very different! Both Erik and Christine as caregivers are extremely gentle and thoughtful: their energy is just so intentional and clam when they're interacting with a regressor. But when they themselves are regressed, both of them are volatile little creatures, prone to lashing out or falling apart at slight inconveniences.
10) Favorite endearments to use as a caregiver?
Christine calls Erik 'darling,' and 'sweet little one,' and 'little maestro.'
Erik calls Christine 'precious star' and 'beautiful girl.'

survey #201
Do you like meatball subs? I really don't, they just make the bread soggy, which I cannot tolerate texturally.
What is your favorite smell on earth? Fresh baked goods. Cinnamon rolls are the best.
If you have a sib, do you call him/her “brother” or “sister” sometimes? I call Ashley "big sis" quite a bit, and sometimes "little sis" for Nicole.
Did you ever collect stickers? I did in my childhood for a very long time! My original dresser ended up completely covered in stickers because that's where I kept my collection of them.
Have you been baptized in any religious tradition? I was as a baby.
Do you love the smell of sunblock? I don't.
What was the last upsetting thing that happened to you? An asthma flare-up. Since my actual attack at the very end of January, I've now had FOUR more instances where my oxygen levels were on the very, very brink of "I need to go to the ER." One time I literally would've gone again if Mom hadn't told me not yet (she didn't want me waiting for hours because my oxygen wasn't low enough to be attended to immediately). I'm very stressed out about it; I'm not supposed to see a pulmonologist until June, but Mom and I are praying that there's a cancellation I can slide into.
What was the last thing you ordered from Starbucks? I've never gone there because I hate coffee. Oh wait, I have gotten a treat from there, but I can't recall what it was, this was years ago.
Do you trust your doctor? I trust my primary doctor and therapist. My current psychiatrist is an absolute fucking joke and after my last appointment, I refuse to go again. We're gonna try and set me up with a psychiatrist where my therapist is.
Do you ever question if your mother loves you? God no, I know me and my siblings are her world.
What is missing in your life? Fun. Adventure.
What is your favorite type of Lunchables? Nachos, zeeeeero competition.
What is the worst medication side effect you’ve ever had? As far as the most truly unenjoyable, vomiting. Scariest, bodily spasms and the constant state of feeling like I was on the very precipice of a seizure. What I'm assuming was probably the most dangerous, hypomania.
What is your favorite thing to order at Taco Bell? Fiesta potatoes.
What church do you go to? I don't go to church.
Do you take risks often? I really don't. I need to be more willing to. Not stupid ones of course, but sometimes risks are necessary for growth and success.
The last time you ate leftovers, what was it that you were eating? My mom made these sorta cheesecake bars to bring to Girt's the other day, because he was obsessed with them when Mom made them last, so his family got to try it and were also hooked, haha. I can't remember everything in it, but I know it included a sugar cookie base, chocolate chips (I think?), toffee bits, pecans (which you really couldn't taste, it was mostly a texture thing), and caramel.
What was the last flavor of ice cream you ate? Vanilla.
What is your favorite song at the moment? Probably "V.A.N." by Bad Omens and Poppy, at least for right now. It's not my favorite song ever, but it's newer so more enjoyable to listen to lately.
What is one thing you have too much of? fat lmao
What type of fruit do you eat the most? Apples.
Would you rather eat strawberries or watermelon? Strawberries. Watermelon is too watery to me, I don't enjoy it.
Do you prefer hamburgers or hot dogs? Burgers.
How far away do you live from the place where you were born? The hospital I was born at is barely five minutes away.
If you buried a time capsule, what would you put in it? Oh I have no idea.
Describe your clothing style in three words: Comfortable. Lazy. Dark.
What’s something you want to do more often? Be outside.
Who is your favorite YouTuber? Of all-time, Markiplier. I don't really have a favorite these days, just a few I enjoy a lot. Some of these are Game Grumps, Snake Discovery, NKFherping, John Wolfe, Shane Dawson, Woolie VS, and Gab Smolders.
Do you believe in soulmates? No.
What band or artist do you think is overrated? I just really don't care, let people enjoy the shit they like. Just because I don't enjoy an artist doesn't mean other people can't.
What’s something untrue that you believed for a long time? Uhhhh maybe that slit pupils on a snake always meant it was venomous. I've known that's incorrect for years, but I did think that was a universal rule when I was younger.
Did you skateboard when you were younger? No. I kinda passively wanted to, but was never too interested to actually learn.
Have you ever won a contest? A few, mostly related to writing ability.
What’s something weird you’ve eaten? An orange yogurt-flavored treat for guinea pigs lmao
Who is someone you would like to get to know better? An acquaintance from high school named Courtlyn. We're Facebook friends and interact sometimes, but I'd love to get to know her better.
When’s that last time you saw snow? It's been like two years. :/
Who are the 3 people you love the most? Mom, Girt, and then I'm not sure who would be #3. There's a collection of people that come to mind, not just a single one.
Last person you slept in the same bed with? Girt.
Have you recently been sick? No.
Would you marry someone if they were unable to have sex? Yeah.
Does heartbreak really feel as bad as it sounds? I think this would vary from person to person. For me, it was infinitely worse. I never would've anticipated the pain I went through.
Last reason you went to the ER? I had an asthma attack.
What facial cleanser do you use? I don't use one anymore.
Have you ever cheated on the significant other that you have now? I've never cheated on a significant other, period.
Do your parents like your boyfriend/girlfriend? They both love him and have loved him since we were teenagers.
What was the last fruit or vegetable you chopped/sliced up? An apple.
Does the last person whose house you were at like anyone? Me, I'm his girlfriend.
Do you tend to talk on the phone a lot? No, I literally hate talking on the phone. Primarily because over the phone, my auditory processing issues are worse, but also because I dislike not being able to see body language/expressions and it's just annoying to hold a phone and talk to someone and stop what I'm doing when you could just message me.
What turns you on the most? do not touch my boobies ok
Have you ever kissed someone of the same sex? Yes.
Have you ever suspected anyone of cheating on you? Not seriously. I can ponder the possibility of Jason having had something going on with the girl he dated after me with how quickly they got together (over Facebook, anyway), but I genuinely do doubt this. If anything, he was over it/open to someone else quick.
Ever get caught doing something naughty with your boyfriend/girlfriend? Yes and we never addressed it and I'm thrilled about that lmfao
Do you use q-tips to clean your ears? Only occasionally, and I'm very careful when I do because overuse/going too deep with them before caused wax to dry and adhere to both of my eardrums and I had to have it suctioned out by a specialty doctor. The doc was very serious about q-tips being an awful idea for internal cleaning, but I can't stand NEVER doing it.
Have you ever swam with dolphins? No, but I'd like to.
If you/your gf became pregnant accidentally, would you consider abortion? I would get an abortion. It'd be the better option for everyone involved; yes, including the potential baby.
What was the last candy you ate? Peach rings.
Do you like zombie movies? Indifferent.
What’s the grossest/worst thing you’ve ever seen in a public restroom? Blood completely covering the underside of the seat.
Have you ever volunteered in a hospital? If not, would you ever want to? No to both.
How do you feel about runny egg yolks? The concept of that going in my mouth makes me want to fucking hurl.
Have you ever hidden a relationship from your family? No.
Who was the worst friend you ever had? Colleen, when it boils down to it.
When was the last time you made plans with someone? What are you going to do with that person? A couple days ago, at least loosely. Girt and I are gonna hang out here this weekend. Dunno what day yet.
Are you close to your extended family? Do you wish you were closer? No; yes.
While on the road, do you play any road games? No.
Have you ever picked apples before? Not really, like at an orchard or something, but I have picked a wild apple out of a tree (it was on a friend's property; we all did it, with the owner) and it was the best apple I ever had.
Are you scared of semi-trucks? Especially when you’re driving next to one? I'm terrified of them. I get tense when I'm in a car where the driver is near one.
Do you have a fence? Along the back and one side of the house, we do.
If you have any pets, do you talk to them in a baby voice? uh, duh
Who was the last person to comfort you? My mom during one of those bad asthmatic episodes.
Do you think that in the end, everything will fall into place? Not necessarily, no. This sadly doesn't happen to everyone. Some people just live a shitty story with no pleasant resolution, no matter what they do.
What was the last thing you swallowed? Flavored water.
Do you like cats? I adore cats. I'm glad Girt's an obsessed cat dad now too because that means more cats in our future, haha.
On a scale of one to ten how much do looks matter to you? In a potential partner? Probably like... 2 or 3.
What are you listening to? "The Death of Peace of Mind" by Bad Omens.
What’s the closest pink object to you? There's pastel pink on the tumbler my sister gave me that I use for my flavored waters.
Are you afraid of thunderstorms? So, yes, but I can also enjoy them. I only get scared when there's a tornado risk.
Do you need a boyfriend/girlfriend to be happy? No. But I know historically, I've been happier when with a partner.
How much effort did you put into your last relationship? Before my current one? I put my all into it. I mean, at the time, I thought I was in love with this person. And when I feel like that, I go all in.
Do you have impulse control? Yes, at least to a degree. I can tell you I'm not the best at controlling my mouth when I'm hurt, but I'm definitely better than I was as a teen.
Would you do anything on a dare? Nope. I don't even go along with dares, I'll do what I want to and not do what I don't want to.

novalo's fic list
hi. hello. did you know that i sometimes write fic? i know. it surprises me too. as i would very much not like to make individual posts for all the fics i've written, i'm collecting them here.
Xenoblade Chronicles
maybe the real chain attack was the friends we made along the way (19.8k, colony 9 NPCs vs. the world, G): xenoblade chronicles 3 future redeemed oneshot in which the NPCs of colony 9 attempt to fill out the enemypedia and come to realize a whole bunch of unfortunate things about the world.
snowglobe's broke (42.6k, future connected squad vs. the world, T): time travel canon divergence ng+ speedrun fic in which shulk, melia, tyrea, and the ponspectors brute-force their way through the plot of xenoblade chronicles 1.
ephemera (8.4k, alvis & shulk, G): in which shulk and alvis contemplate mortality, creation, and loneliness while a dead god mourns on a beach.
Ace Combat
thirty birds (47.7k, cipher/pixy, T): a treatise on the perils of nihilism, the nature of belief, and the human condition with an ace combat zero spin. second person POV character study of pixy during and after the belkan war. i had approximately five separate existential crises writing this.
Persona 5
a glove, a bolt, and an atom bomb (14.7k, shuake, T): time loop goro akechi character study. likely to be part of a larger series. affectionately referred to by me as "monoliths".
an accidental interruption and a final day (19.1k, shuake, T): pt. 2 WIP of monoliths, in which goro akechi makes friends (?), tests deadly cosplay props, and navigates life, all while a cast of an unnamed play watches quietly.
Yugioh
small town, big flame (28.6k, yugi & OCs vs. the world, T): in which two ghost hunter content creators who have a worrying amount of experience with the supernatural meet yugi mutou in a haunted town. cue shenanigans. probably my favourite fic i've written. if you find the despite it all references you deserve a medal.
Fullmetal Alchemist
maestoso (33.1k, ed & al vs. the world, T): time travel orchestra AU fix-it AU in which ed and al have the chance to do the plot of FMAB all over and go about in the most convoluted way possible. involves the typical vigilantism and a bit more soloist bravado than strictly necessary. what do you get when you toss the central symphony orchestra into a coup against a fascist state? i dunno but let's hope it's better funding for the arts
Fire Emblem
goat milk and oats (25.9k, grima vs. the world, G): in which grima isn't as horrible as he could be, accidentally invents existentialism, and is reborn as a pet snake. this changes everything and nothing. the title is very literal.
as virtuous men pass mildly away (4.1k, byleth & ghosts, T): FE3H WIP in which byleth can see ghosts and recruits one glenn fraldarius (deceased). somehow this changes nothing.
MDZS
despite it all (292k, lwj/wwx but mostly gen focus, T): WIP in which wwx comes back a little more lucky and a little more godly and picks up young cultivator-apprentice a-qing, sword spirit xue yang, and fledgling array specialist mxy. features a subplot about dead gods who are a bit too good at haunting the living and themselves and a 70k+ chapter. heavily AU. i subtly but gleefully refer to this fic in most of my newer ones. i am both normal and sane.
to the venerable dragons of lotus pier (19k, wwx & yunmeng sibs, T): mdzs/the ocean at the end of the lane AU. in attempting to fix everything wwx rearranges the fabric of reality. cue memory alteration, convoluted fix-its, and immortal keepers of time. i'm not sure if i can adequately summarize how surreal this fic is and i wrote it.
a sky 1300 years wide (17.6k, wwx & wen sibs, T): mdzs/norgami WIP in which wwx is reborn and immediately becomes a local menace to a small town and a handyman.
places we saw and made and lost (2.3k, wwx/lwj but mostly gen, G): collection of short prose snippets, mostly character studies.
BNHA
brilliant lights will cease to burn (206k, izuku & everyone, T): bnha/ccs WIP where izuku becomes a cardcaptor and makes it everyone's problem, especially his own. so many shenanigans.
enbu (7k, midoriya izuku and his violent friends vs. the world, G): bnha/kny AU in which midoriya izuku is part of the kamado family line, lands a ghost tanjirou, and convinces his friends to terrorize the local demon population.
eater (10.6k, midoriya izuku & everyone, T): WIP in which izuku is an eldritch abomination who can eat literally everything, including abstract concepts and nothingness itself. he's chill, don't worry about it.
love's labour's only slightly singed (1.9k, hatsume & yaoyorozu, G): oneshot written for hatsume mei zine. hatsume and momo navigate the beginnings of a terrifying friendship.
yagyo (8.4k, izuku & anyone unfortunate enough to cross him, T): WIP in which izuku becomes a spirit-walker, treading in places that really aren't healthy for a sane human being.
The Legend of Zelda
the wind guides us (8.7k, link & introspection, G): character study of BOTW link, featuring loneliness, solitude, the nature of memory, heroism, and a warm campfire.
Voltron
even as its petals scatter (3.2k, lance & allura, T): character study of lance and the ache to lay down your arms and stop chasing ideals of heroism.

15, 16, and 18 for Pepperman
15) Do they lean more towards regressor or caregiver?
For my hc i like to think he leans more towards caregiver!
16) If they've partnered up with another regressor or flip, are they the big or little sib?
Big sib!
18) How different are they compared to when they regress vs. when they act as cg?
Not too different actually, he’s really calm with both, acts pretty similar, and does sorta similar things.

BC Next Gen Winter Thoughts
I've got some thoughts about how my next gen ocs would spend their winter days/celebrate Christmas. And now I'm gonna share them!
..........
The Cresswells: Jill and Daniel go out winter camping with their parents. Mama Cresswell knows some good recipes made with wild greens. Jack and Jill hunt a nice juicy boar to roast over a fire. Daniel would use his magic to make new jewelry for his mom and sis and a new cloak clasp for his dad.
The elves: Patry’s family would visit the Vangeance household for one. The men’s shared birthday is actually the main reason with Christmas coming second. Andrea (Alfried's mom) would find her way to attend and give Patry something nice from afar. She definitely spoils all the kids, especially Alfred, with gifts. Alfred uses his Shield Magic to let everyone snowboard. Elfrieda likes making snow men and snow angels (and she will stay up late to catch Santa). Avery would get knickknacks for his squad mates (curiously not having enough money to buy Caelum a gift... how convenient).
The Vermillions: Leoray and Mereoleona go hunt some wild game to bring to the Vermillion Christmas Dinner! Ray would probably give Uncle Fue one of her old training journals because she knows he’d appreciate something that holds memories and logs a person’s path to improvement. Uncle Leo is the one who gave Ray her pet boa constrictor King for Christmas.
The Silvas: There's a BIG House Silva Christmas celebration. Noelle was very clear when she said she’d only come back home for Christmas if the family put in effort for a Christmas party. And by the time the kids are all around, they’ve gotten the hang of it. The original Silva sibs created a tradition of doing a magic show for a randomly selected orphanage, to give the kids entertainment for the holiday. The big finale is always Solid vs Noelle magic display where the kids vote who is the better mage (them sharing the same attribute makes it easy to compare). Noelle’s winning streak is currently at 12. Nebra jokes that Noelle having kids is what's made her so strong. Chalivas and Elana are very strict with Soleil and Skylar about no pranks during the holidays. No ifs, ands, or buts! The servants who work shifts during the holidays don’t need more stress! Elana does go along with Skylar to sneak into the kitchens and "help" the staff prepare the Christmas feast. But all they ever do is taste everything being made. Not that the servants mind. Elana is a little picky but Skylar loves everything! Because they're royals, the gifts exchanged are either classy or niche/weird. Asta and Noelle once got the elder Silvas wine glasses shaped like them. Everyone, literally everyone, was laughing for so long. Those gaudy glasses are on display and the servants love snickering at them. The kids coming along makes things calm down, a little. Eirlys always writes a poem to go with whatever gift she gives the others. Aecor has this eerie ability to get everyone exactly what they want without them ever saying. No one knows how he does it (even me). The first gift Filomina ever gave was a big, sloppy family picture that Noelle will fight to preserve. Nozel, Nebra, and Solid are so embarrassed by it because why did Filo draw them with bird heads? The Astelle family spends Christmas Eve at House Silva but Christmas Day in Hage. Father Orsi’s gift to the kids is a story from a Christmas past with Asta and Yuno. But also tatoe recipes or little trinkets to carry with them. The tears of that man and the parents when the kids put on their first little Christmas concert for the church. Filomina really did sing like an angel.
The Voltia-Swings: In winter, Luck, Magna, and Jesse play in the snow so much! They all run hot so the cold barely gets the them! Sledding in a favorite for Jesse. Luck sometimes comments "And you'll be going even faster than that once you learn how to use your magic like me! Exciting, huh?" Christmas is a day devoted to fun for the Voltia-Swings. Joking around and singingly horribly while they make breakfast/lunch. Taking ridiculously long times to choose what present to open next. The fathers playing with Jesse's new toys. Of course Magna and Luck also take Jesse out to visit friends and they're just so soft for seeing their little girl happily sharing her toys and playing with friends. She doesn't have the most luxurious life but it's better than what either of them grew up with. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are also the two days out of the year where Jesse always shares a bed with her parents. Until she moves out, Christmas is the snuggling days for their little family.
The Enotecas (and Selen): For Christmas while Cynthia is still little, Selen takes her and Vanessa out for a fun joy ride. Maybe he's a giant wolf or a polar bear or caribou. Runs through the snow with the gals on his back. Giving them an experience humans can't really have. They go out to a spot in the woods/mountains without any human settlements to enjoy a view of the night sky that's so beautiful. Maybe Cynthia gets a chance to meet some wild critters. Vanessa thanks Selen every year for doing what he does with Cynthia. The two of them aren't in love but they do love their daughter. When Cynthia's older, she makes a tradition of bringing wool thread and other good insulators out into the woods and leaving it in places for birds and other nest building animals to find so they have something to make their homes even better. The animals see Cynthia as one of their own by the time she's got her grimoire.
The Yamis: The Yamis spend Christmas together, the four of them. Sukehiro cooks up some warm, Hino style stew to enjoy around a fireplace. Charlotte makes some cinnamon hot chocolate. Saki grows some poinsettias and mistletoe for decorations. Blue, red, black, and white roses decorate as well. Ann makes a tradition of reading olf Christmas folklore, the heartwarming and the heart-stopping. I imagine that the Yamis can ice skate. When the girls were small, Sukehiro guided them around like they were doing a little dance on the ice. When they’re older, they can skate on their own. Then one year, a gift is delivered to Saki. It’s a full set of matching jewelry with a black rose theme. Beautiful and expensive. Sukehiro was really confused but all the women seemed to know who it came from.
The Adlais: The Adlais, along with Auntie Marie, go out for a winter stroll. They’ve got baskets and thermoses of hot drinks with them. Grey and Marie attract the wild critters like a couple of Cinderellas. Clara spots and picks some wild winter berries. While Silver and Clara are really young, Gauche would carry them on his back when they got tired. The stroll ends at an empty field where they lay out thick blankets and have a picnic out there. Grey and Marie work together to make the best Christmas feast. Gauche and the kids are in charge of dessert. I also imagine Gauche gets into the habit of making his gifts for the family. Wood carved dolls or knitted scarves. He's a secret artist, only for his family though. He spent so much money on gifts for Marie in the past but in the future, he learns how to make presents really meaningful by hand crafting them.
The Roulacases (featuring @sailor-muno's oc Mallory): The Roulacase family wears the ugliest sweaters you will ever see! Mallory picked them all out herself (even got one for Finesse so she can pose with her space sons). Actually, Lukian helped pick them. Finral can hardly keep a straight face with his on (in a good way); he loves how enthusiastic Mallory looks when she can find matching sweaters. Caelum is beet red wearing his but Dawn thinks it’s cute and is a little jealous so he would eventually give his sweater to her. Raphael is happy to wear an ugly sweater if it means driving away people that would usually flirt with him. Amarielle is running around showing all her friends and the family friends her sweater because she thinks her is adorable (and it is! Ugly cute!). Theodore laments his is a little scratchy but thinks it’s fun and knows its how his mom shows her love.
The Fausts: I imagine the Faust kids being a bit musical in their free time so special occasions in the Faust family is celebrated with music. The Faust family plays some songs together, just for themselves. If they go in public though, they would go dancing. Josele loved dancing with Morgen and loves to dance with Nacht so she wants to pass on that love to her kids. Nacht lets his daughters stand on his toes while dancing with them. Dusk and Sirius would also offer dances to their sisters. Josele and Nacht definitely have the last dance before the whole family goes home. Christmas dinners are feasts for the family. Josele takes the children out hunting and foraging for wild ingredients. Nacht and the devils then take over in leading the cooking effort. Josele sometimes joins in on the cooking but Nacht usually convinces her to rest so they split the job evenly. A creamy rabbit stew is the most common Christmas dinner with sides of roasted greens and berry jams and sweet rolls (the only thing store bought). When it comes to gifts, Sterling promises not to use her magic to know what she gets ahead of time. She also refrains from using her magic to determine what gifts are "correct." She goes with her gut and it's hit or miss. Sirius has the best record with gift giving, seeming to always get perfect gifts. Dawn has a gift of giving everyone the same thing (giving everyone books, but one suited to each person). Dusk obsessively keeps receipts in case someone doesn't like a gift and he insists on getting them a new one. Merel is the type to make gifts, she learns from Josele and Gauche how to craft. Vivian tends to get more daring, "I thought you could be interested in this" types of gifts.

Lucky 13
thirteen. Thirteen. THIRTEEN.
These years that keep on tickin by, truly give no fucks.
Ugh. Every year I fight with if I want to keep this thang goin (the blog. or whatever you wanna call this), and every year I say to myself “but this is the 13th year, (or whichever year we’re on)” sooo, why stop now. The reason I go back and forth with myself, is because it can be kind of painful opening this box, that I pretty much only “open” once a year. That old saying “time heals all wounds” bounces around in my head every now and again, it’s just something people have grown accustomed to say. Why do we do that?? It’s a bullshit phrase, and frankly IT AIN’T TRUE! Time makes it bearable, sure. But for me, if I allow myself to think about my last day with my dad and the fact that I had no clue that it was our last day together, all time does for me, is make it hurt more. It makes me realize that now it’s been THIRTEEN years, since I last had an actual conversation with him, since I last hugged him. In those earlier years, thinking about being with him and seeing him 2-3 years ago vs. now and it being over a decade later, was soo much easier because those memories were more fresh in my mind. Soo I say all that to say, fuck. It’s still hard, and I think it will always be hard to visit that part of my heart that I’ve locked away. Especially as we continue to get older, and we’re now raising our kids, and recognizing things that my parents did for me and my sibs, that I probably wouldn’t recognize if I weren’t a parent. I’m falling more and more in love with Matthew as I watch him be the most amazing father to our young men, so much to the point that it terrifies me. Yesterday, (as I was mentally trying to prepare myself to write this lovely excerpt) I was laying in Matt’s arms thinking about how damn much I love him and then realized, that it absolutely terrifies me to allow myself to fully love because I feel like the moment I do…I can’t even write my deepest fears because I refuse to let it exist in writing. But I just don’t want anything shitty to happen. Don’t worry, booking my next appt with my therapist in a few minutes 🙃 I realize that living that way isn’t conducive for anyone including ya girl 🙋🏾♀️ So I’ve decided to allow myself to fully love for the first time in 13 years. That’s not to say that I haven’t been head over hills in love with my man, my boo thang, my soul mate! However, there’s a difference between 90% and 100% know what I’m sayin? Damn, this is a long one. Sorry! Other than still figuring this shit out as the time races on by, I’ve made a shift in my career and I still can’t believe it. I quit my well paying fully remote job and took real estate classes and now I’m waiting to take my real estate exam! I pray it was the right move, but if not I’ll do what my dad was a pro at and make a way out of no way. Mom is still workin her ass off and spoiling her GamGam boys, I’m soo proud of the things she’s doing! I ain’t gonna put all her stuff on blast, but I see you MA! You’re AMAZING! Keep doing what you’re doing, because watching you is motivational! Brother is still adventurous getting the dopest most random jobs because he’s just like dad haha, he works for the Clippers (Yhup the basketball team) they’re currently just starting the off season, which is great because he decided to give his arm a little compound fracture 🤦🏾♀️ just like dad. Gordy is one year down at CPP and just got an electric bike, keeping true to the hippieish/vegetarian vibes. All of our young men are growing (way too fast) we’re gearing up for the twins 3rd bday and baby boy Nova is just trying to keep up with his big bros. Gosh damn it! I really wish dad were here for this phase of our lives. Until next year…

"A burnt child loves the fire" by Oscar Wild is one of the closest quote I have for Jango. And omg, I'm not supposed to be on Jango fever, but...
Scorched. Man was scorched from the day he was born. And I'm talking about that farm life. I'm not about that life to say growing up as a farm boy is shit, but part of it is, you know? You get up with little time to play because you need to work — help mam and pap in the field, watch the sibs, keep an eye out for pests, keep an eye out for thieves, die in the sun, die in the weather, die in the fact that you have to be on top of your game if you want to keep food on the table and bask in the simplicity of life while the world evolves around you.
I bet you 2 kidneys that boy dreamed more than just farm life. I bet you, that no matter how proud he is of being a Fett, part of that boy dreamed big. Part of him was natively adventurous because of how he efficiently lead the True Mandalorians and Jaster to safety when cornered. Part of that boy was aware of the chaotic galaxy but had never, not in his wildest dreams, ever prepared for the childhood trauma that was so short-endured (him witnessing the demise of his family) because he had to act. Act quick to survive, act quick to get a firm grasp on core memory being so shit.
We all now the story. I've also posted several Jango trashposts here, but let's focus on comparing him to the clones.
I'm impartial to the comparison that Jango had a few years of good shit before the trauma hits versus clones being made and bred for death and suffering. This is that fine line wherein society debates whether meat consumption is sin or not.
Breeding.
If you breed free-range chickens to lay eggs, is it morally acceptable to eat eggs?
If you breed eggs in harsher conditions, is it m orally acceptable to eat eggs?
Bear in mind consumption is not for leisure, but survival. This analogy equates to:
If you clone clones under a secured, safe, and tended environment, is it morally acceptable to use them for war in seek of peace?
If you clone clones under a harsher environment (decommissioning imperfect clones at the get go) is it morally acceptable to 'recycle' them and use them for war in seek of peace?
Honestly, I don't know. This is also like Anakin's call on Papa Palps using the Zillo Beast for enhancement. There morals remain a forever conundrum in every aspect of life.
So the question between the comparison is:
Is Jango better off having endured a little bit of his good in his life? Good enough to "pardon" how he will constantly doom himself to his own narrative whether he likes it or not?
Or would it have been better to just be made for that purpose with no basis of comparison? To just aimlessly want a better life without knowing what a better life is?
And then there's the fact of the farmer and the egg (idk why I'm using so much shit here but I gots no coffee yet so pardon me).
Does it hurt more being the farmer who is technically the hand of god here having to sell his prized eggs, chickens, produce as opposed to taking care of them free-range and shit?
Or does it hurt more being the egg, chicken, produce having to live a life knowing death is inevitable?
The farmer gets to do it. Over and over and over again. Jango has to relive the fact that he had sold himself to the cycle that will haunt him until he dies and he does. He dies. The pain, however never ends, because the fact exists that Jango lives through each clone made. Each clone with a different interpretation of their demise without fully experiencing what Jango went through. It's like no past trauma but hello present future trauma (clones) vs (jango) past trauma, present trauma, future trauma.
@notthestarwar
My brain is too scrambled recently to make this a proper post but is anyone else getting Jango VIBES from these???

Stuck in church for the next few hours too 😔✊
May I ask for any headcanons you have about our beloved vdw sibs? Eric & Serena while they were growing up and beyond?
Well I hope it was a spiritually filling experience for you <3 Anyway yes!!! Them!!!
- Eric and Serena are just absolute icons at playing together growing up. These kids can Pass Some Time
- They have these really elaborate games that not even Blair and Nate can understand the rules to and just leave everyone else kind of like ‘????’ but it also presents in stuff like Jenny finding out that Eric is a fucking champion at slide when they’re like 17 and he’s just like. Well yeah
- Serena and Eric learn to drive together! On his sixteenth birthday she’s just like ‘here is your real present and here is your prep for getting your learner’s permit. Mom can’t stop us both <3’ (which is something we kind of see in the early parts of s1, that Eric’s wants can get lost in the fights between Serena and his mom, but in this case he’s okay with it)
- I think Eric is always very aware that Serena is his protector, both in the very literal sense of her as his defender and in the way that she just naturally makes life easier for him and his more quiet and introverted self—she knows how to draw him in and make sure he’s included
- I also think it takes him a lot of time to realize that he anchors her, and his quiet, scheme-y self is good for her, and that he takes care of her and helps her manage herself too (and, also, exactly how much she needs that help). Like, she doesn’t just love him but that he has a value in their relationship. He also thinks about this way more actively than she does
- Serena is just like ‘Eric my baby brother who must be done right by in every way because he is pure and good’ and has that written into her fucking bones in the way that older siblings do (and also is aware that Eric is better at figuring out what’s going on in her head than she is sometimes)
- On the flip side of that is that Eric is… he’s always very self-contained, in how he manages himself, and everyone knows that if you really want him to talk about his feelings or what’s going on with him, you send Serena. (Unless, of course, your name is Humphrey and you didn’t grow up with him and therefore have less expectations.)
- And on yet a third side, I’ve always really thought that Eric is the one who Serena tried to hide her problems from. Not her feelings—you know Eric got to hear and mediate every single fight with Blair—but the part of her that was an on fire tragedy masquerading as a party girl, because she was his big sister and some part of her knew something was Wrong in a way that he should be kept safe from, even if she didn’t know how to keep it away from herself
- Anyway, Lily is one of the champion storytellers of gg—I mean, she’s up there with Blair, and always was, even as a baby, hello ‘you’re falling in love with me, aren’t you?’ in Valley Girls—and I think growing up, one of the signs that things are Good in the vdw household is that Lily takes the time to read Eric and Serena a bedtime story
- Ofc by the time Eric is like six she’s scared about reading stories that are too far below Serena’s reading level vs ones that are good for him and I am just. A little obsessed with Serena van der Woodsen, founder and president of the Shakespeare Club, and I think she gets it from her mom <3
- Serena is also the one who reads stories when things are Bad, and either way that becomes a formative experience for Eric, and it’s something he definitely does/would do as a parent
- I’ve talked before about the idea of them both ending up in California as adults, and it’s a huge state but it’s small enough that they call it close enough to visit constantly, which is something that I like a lot
- But I think that it doesn’t really matter where they end up? They make sure to make time for each other (or, really, Eric makes sure to make time and Serena is intuitive enough to know that Saturday morning means it is time to talk with Eric on the phone, and thus the structure becomes settled)
- They communicate a lot via texts of ‘oh I saw this and thought you would be into it’ too—news articles, some fashion video that showed up because the youtube algorithm is weird, literally anything that has to do with the opera because Serena just. Has no idea what the fuck is going on over there but she knows he likes it
- Also I don’t believe in either of them living in the UES as adults but lbr Serena’s wedding is the only reason Eric sets foot back there in canon in a fucking decade and that is some king shit

I’m curious to how you think baby bell reacts to other members of the owl house crew (like Willow, Gus, Amity, etc) and vice versa? Are tensions high? Or is it the “I do not see it” mindset
So how would others react to babybel, many Gus, Willow and the Blights? (Yes all 3 sibs)
you know, we're starting to run into a bit of a timeline issue, bc with the Day of Unity in just a week post-Hollow Mind (even if it's a Boiling Isles week that might be ten days vs seven)...
i'm the one who is Choosing Not To See It.
anyway, so, like, if we're adhering strictly to canon then he's going to be doing everything he possibly can to get back to the castle before then and won't have a chance to meet them, probably. IF we just kind of throw the canon timeline out the window, though -
(if we assume he does in fact miss the day of unity, well, i think that's kind of a whole other set of problems that i don't want to get into right now, but it would Sure Have An Effect On Him I Think)
it would probably be a bit before any of them would meet him. i am sure Luz would tell her friends what was going on here, but while they're still figuring out what's even up with this weird little guy and what to do, she doesn't want them all involved (and Eda would prefer to keep the fact that the Emperor's child self is in her house as quiet as possible, too.)
when they do actually... i think overall, Babybel mostly sees any new people as 1) new potential opportunities to manipulate someone into helping him but also 2) more potential threats/people who could potentially fuck his plans up. the more people get involved with this the harder it's going to be for him!
(also, tbh, he does not strike me as a social butterfly. he's gotten quite adept at navigating social situations and being superficially charming and flattering and telling people what they want to hear, but i don't think he likes people, and i think as a kid his capacity is even lower. he needs a lot of quiet time and alone time.)
i think Willow and Gus are both likely to have reservations but be curious. Willow seems a bit more friendly and might be sympathetic, because, after all, he may be the Emperor but he’s also just a kid right now. she’s a kind person who tries to give people the benefit of the doubt!
of course, if he does try to hurt her friends, kid or not, then No Peace.
Gus is a bit more suspicious, due to his own history of being taken advantage of - and as a precocious little stinker himself, is also a lot more likely to not underestimate Babybel’s capacity for evil and destruction, i think.
i do not think Amity would trust him At All. she’s very protective of Luz and has more of a suspicious nature, and it just seems like too big of a risk to be taking. she definitely has a bit of a ruthless streak, i think, especially when it comes to protecting the people who she cares about.
i honestly have no opinion on how the Blight twins would react. try to fuck with him probably.

Hi! For the ask game: can I ask 15, 16, 18 and 21 for Hikaru and Kaoru? (My personal headcanon is Kaoru usually the one regressing, but if Hikaru has a really bad day and needs some kiddo time he’ll look after him.) Thank you!!! :)
《 Eee ty for requesting!! I love these two, and them being flips is such a good idea! Once again I decided to do all the questions òvó 》
15) Do they lean more towards regressor or caregiver?
I actually think Hikaru regresses more than Kaoru! He's just stubborn and refuses to admit it lol. He's the kind of kid who INSISTS he's still big when he's actually like 7, so Kaoru has to play undercover caregiver. Kaoru also seems to me like a bit of a people pleaser who puts other people's needs before his own so he's more often caring, but with the help of his friends he gets more baby time as he gets used to being taken care of!
16) If they've partnered up with another regressor or flip, are they the big or little sib?
Hikaru is the big sib no matter what! He's definately more likely to regress to a kid range while Kaoru is more of a toddler, and Kaoru also baby regresses sometimes while Hikaru never goes lower than 3 or so. Hikaru takes great pride in being a big brother!
17) Did they start out thinking they were strictly one or the other?
They always kinda knew they were both because they needed to care for one another! Usually one would regress and the other would stay big to look after them, so they're kinda flips by default.
18) How different are they compared to when they regress vs. when they act as cg?
Oooo I think about this a lot! For Hika, he is very different in the two headspaces. When he's acting as a cg he definately has Cool Older Brother energy! He's pretty chill but will gladly participate in mischief, he's also prone to play teasing. As a kiddo, he's very rambunctious but sensitive! He's kind of a tantrum pro, it is quite easy to get him all stompy. However, he's also very creative and loves to play! Kaoru on the other hand is surprisingly similar in both spaces. He's cozy, calm, and relaxed. He's very insightful and good at dealing with his kiddos big emotions when he's caring, less active than Hikaru but very responsible. When regressed he's still pretty calm! Just a sleepy lil guy.
19) Favorite thing about regressing?
They love the attention!
20) Favorite thing about caregiving?
... they love the attention lol
21) Random Headcanon!
It's not very often that they're both big while Haruhi is regressed, but on those rare occasions they're the perfect big brother tag team!
