"We need to discuss something important" is a sentence that usually causes anxiety. For Regulus, however, it was only a confirmation. He had expected it to happen at any moment. He and James had fooled around for a few months, but the fun was about to end.

James and Regulus were destined to live their high school lives like a bad teen movie. James was on the clear path to the stereotype of the captain of the football team, with impeccable presence at every party, a girl on each arm. Regulus, on the other hand, was the top tier in academics, a withdrawn and silent boy who spent his free time in libraries or in some obscure place with his few friends. What had saved Regulus from the normal path of nerdiness had been both his gorgeous looks and his status as Sirius Black's younger brother.

Although he didn't like to believe in clichés, he knew that he and James were too different. What had attracted him in the first place was a frighteningly sincere smile. Then a twinkle of the eyes. Then a snap of the fingers. He started to follow his small gestures during the lunch break, when he pretended to read "War and Peace" or "Faust". Somehow, Regulus had gotten close enough to make James curious. A few months of hide-and-seek games followed, with fleeting kisses and slightly too bold touches.

Regulus knew, however, that it would not last. James was just curious, and Regulus was looking for some fun. When the moment would come, one of them would break it from the other. The younger boy was so convinced that their little adventure was already over, that he was paralyzed for a few minutes when James poured a "Will you be my boyfriend?" out of nowhere. They were at a cafe in the city, at a table in a secluded corner, each with a cup of green tea in front of them.

James was clearly nervous, and sweat was running down his back as if he had just returned from a walk in the desert. He waited for any kind of reaction from Regulus, who stood like a stone, rarely blinking. Neither of them moved a muscle. In the end, the silence was too much to endure for James and he cracked.

"I understand... Sorry if I caught you off guard" he began, gathering his things. "It's ok, I think I interpreted all of this wrong. I'm going to go now so I don't humiliate myself even more".

James threw his backpack on his arm, ready to run to the first gas station he could find, to lock himself in a toilet and hit his head against the walls. However, Regulus woke up from his trance and grabbed his shirt sleeve firmly before running away.

"No, wait!" Regulus had shouted, standing up suddenly. "You can't leave. Not until I tell you something important too..."

Josele Canty

The devaluing of life.

Josele has lost a lot in her life. Her parents. Her first love, her own magic for a time. And while her Emotion Magic was out of commission, she ended up relying on a magic that stole life from the world around her.

So Josele finds it hard to contain herself when she catches someone dismissing others and the lives they lead. Whether it be by taking lives, treating someone as lesser, or simply not enjoying the little things, Josele struggles to bite her tongue and not tell off a person for being so callous with something as precious as a life.

Sirius Faust

Straight up? The very thought of the primary school he originally attended.

He was shunned and bullied by his classmates there. Teachers refused to address the bullying claims, either thinking he was exaggerating or fearing retaliation from parents (without fearing what Sirius's own parents were capable of...). Sirius endured the treatment for a year before breaking down to Josele and Nacht about it. He (along with Merel and Vivian) was pulled from that school and tutored privately by Zora (as I imagine him becoming some kind of traveling/intermittent teacher in the future). That only lasted a few months before Nacht and Josele found another school for him (and his sisters).

Sirius hates his old school with a burning passion. He refuses to call the establishment by name and makes an effort to dig up all bad incidents about the school and make sure they becomes widely known.

Sterling Faust

Status Obsession.

Born a peasant and adopted into a disgraced noble family, Sterling grew up always being looked down upon. Thus, Sterling has grown to resent those who put a lot of stake in titles and societal positions. She's quick to grow cold to anyone who shows that they value status and is easily irritated by anyone who devalues her or her loved ones simply for not being "elite." It goes the other way too. She hates when people look down on themselves and give up just because they rank low in society. Sterling won't hang with people who practically worship the royal families just because they're royalty because it disrespects the hard work that people like Noelle and Mereoleona do regardless of titles.

Rank, status, titles; all of that doesn't mean much to Sterling in comparison to individual action. She wants to be around people who strive to live rather than people who go through the motions because they were born in a certain social ring.

i was talking to @dove-da-birb about traits we don't get to see in otome love interests since they all kinda have the same body type and face (no facial hair, no grey hairs, no acne scars, same skinny/muscular body type) so i'm going to share my headcanons on what i think each suitor would have!!
