Some quick Mother's Day thoughts involving my next gen ocs...

Lolopechka with Maris, Neave, and Petrus

Maris spends the most time with Lolopechka as she's the future queen of Heart. Lots of their time is spent with lessons on magic and ruling.

On Mother's Day, Maris and Lolo simply sit down and picnic together. No talk of queenly duties or magic.

Neave gushes about her friends abroad and Lolopechka remarks on them with her memories of befriending Noelle, Mimosa, and Nero.

Petrus and Lolopechka actually have a garden together since Earth and Water Magic work well for growing plants.

Mother's Day is when they pick a bunch of flowers and put together bouquets for the citizens. Petrus always keeps some extra to make fill a vase for Lolopechka.

Dorothy with Winifred

Winifred is Dorothy's adopted daughter. Dorothy never really cared to figure out where Winifred came from and just loves her kid.

On Mother's Day, Dorothy and Winifred play a fun game of tag while using their magic.

Dorothy is the undefeated Magic Tag champion.

Winifred puts on a one-woman play using her Illusion Magic, retelling stories she's heard from Dorothy, but with the worst accuracy possible.

Dorothy has a magic tool to record the performances and she's shared some with her friends.

Dorothy's favorite performance is Winifred's retelling of Nozel and Helia's wedding. It's so inaccurate (in the sense that Winifred depicts it going much more smoothly) that Nozel is frankly offended.

Mereoleona with Leoray

Mereo and Ray go on a hunting trip together!

Ray still can't kill as many beasts as Mereo can but she doesn't get discouraged because Mereo's encouragement is always in her ear.

"You've got more fire than that!" "Knock another one down! You have it in you!" "You've got this! You've got it right!"

Mereo's favorite hunting trip was the year Ray tried to eat raw meat the way Mereo did. And Mereo had to perform the Heimlich since Mereo could use her magic to cook the meat as she swallowed but Ray had no such ability.

Mother's Day is the only day Leoray gets a chance to brush her mom's hair. Mereo is usually fine as it is, but she admits that the hair brushing is a nice way to bond. Even if it doesn't take that long with Mereo's short cut.

Holly (oc) with Eirlys and Ferro

Eirlys and Holly read a book of poems dedicated to motherhood together.

Eirlys's favorite poem from the book describes motherhood like an embrace, warm and inviting and so comfortable. But something that will have to let go eventually.

Holly's favorite poem is a mother's perspective seeing her daughter become different from the mother herself.

Ferro gives Holly ice figurines each year. They become more refined and detailed with each year. Holly keeps all the figures in a magic cabinet so they don't melt.

After many years, Ferro recreates the cake topper used at Holly and Solid's wedding and it becomes Holly's favorite. Solid would see it and wonder where Ferro learned of the cake topper.

Holly thinks Ferro would make for a lovely sculptor if he wasn't so dead set on becoming a Magic Knight like Solid.

Nebra with Skylar and Elana

Once they're old enough, Skylar and Elana research and scout cities throughout the kingdom to take their mom out for a day out on Mother's Day.

They book an appointment with a masseuse. Reserve a spot for lunch or dinner. Find a local play or music performance.

The twins will dote on their momma as thanks for her efforts to raise them as a singe mother (with resources she got as a royal... regardless).

Skylar also presents Nebra with a series of fake suitor profiles. He remembered Nebra trying to date back in the day before deciding to focus on herself and her twins. The fake suitors give Nebra a laugh.

Elana tells Nebra about the crazy Magic Knight missions she hears from working in the Magic Investigation Bureau. Nebra forever claims that Elana still hasn't found a story more interesting than what she's experienced.

Kathline (oc) with Daniel and Jill

Simply put, Daniel and Jill help Kathline chop down trees and cut wood in preparation for Kathline to turn it all into furniture.

Their attributes are well suited to that job after all.

Daniel shows some of his creative flair by using his Steel Magic to make wood carvings (which aren't as good as his metal sculptures).

Jill shows off how many trees she can cut through at once.

"Still not as impressive as your dad carving a new canyon into the landmass," Kathline teases.

Jill goes to bite her mom's head off but is put in her place very quickly.

Ichika with Kai'ichi, Shigehiro, and Moriko

Ichika doesn't expect the kids to do much on Mother's Day. It was a recent cultural trend borrowed from Clover Kingdom.

And usually, the kids don't treat it like anything special. Until the year when Shigehiro is fifteen. The kids come together and present Ichika with a box.

Inside in a beautiful kimono ensemble. Hair accessory, matching fan and parasol, the works.

Apparently, the kids found the photo that Ichika had hidden away which showed her wearing a similar ensemble alongside her husband. Her wedding photo.

The kids wanted her to have something that would make her feel as beautiful as she did when she got married. And remind her of the happiness she felt with her husband.

Ichika didn't shed tears. Not in front of the kids. She hugged them real tight before sending them on their way. And she cried over the kimono on her lonesome.

Finesse with Caelum and Raphael

Because Cal and Raph don't live with Finesse, Mother's Day is basically sacred time with their bio mom.

Caelum will bring his mom a gift basket of all sort of trinkets and goodies that she'd enjoy.

Leaves from far off lands that he's visited. Recipe cards to give to Finesse's kitchen staff. New bookmarks and books to use them with.

I'm gonna say Raphael plays an instrument. Perhaps a harp. And he plays Finesse whatever song he's learned recently.

The boys argue over who gets to brush their mom's hair before the three of them take a stroll through town.

Finesse would tell them that one can brush her hair while the other picks out the hair accessory she wears.

Vanessa with Cynthia

Vanessa wasn't comfortable with Mother's Day at first, given her own maternal relationship.

But she came around to it after all her friends reassured her that it was okay to celebrate her motherhood because she was a good parent.

Cynthia is an artist. She tries every kind of art and craft. So Vanessa has a collection of different crafted items from many Mother's Days (and other occasions).

Vanessa loves each and every gift she's been given. She knows it's not the point, but she feels like she's deservedly earned the things Cynth gives her.

One year, Cynthia held Vanessa's face between her hands, locked eyes with her, and said "you're the best mom I could've ever hoped for. I love the mom that you are for me."

It made Vanessa happy cry for well over an hour.

Charlotte with Saki, Ann, and Kenzou

Saki would of course gift Charlotte a bouquet made from the flowers she grows in her garden/at her flower shop.

She avoids including roses since Charlotte grows the most beautiful roses in the kingdom, according to Saki.

Ann isn't good with physical gifts. She collects memorabilia from her adventures (later missions when she's a MK) and then brings them to Char to tell the stories behind each trinket.

When Ann gets her grimoire, she asks to battle Char each Mother's day so she can improve her magic in hopes that her Briar Magic becomes just as strong as her mom's

Kenzou (once he's grown enough to do so) takes Charlotte on a little mother-son outing.

They go to a cafe and catch up on life events. They go social dancing and Charlotte has to lead Kenzou along since he has two left feet.

Grey with Silver and Clara

Silver and Clara become Grey's happy little helpers on Mother's Day.

Clara asks if there's any nooks and crannies that she can clean for Grey.

Silver carries the bags on a grocery/general shopping run.

He'll help push furniture if Grey wants to rearrange a room. He reaches high shelves for her (even when Grey points out she could transform into someone taller to reach).

When they were younger, they were pretty clumsy and something always broke!

As they grow older, they get better and learn to do more to help. Cleaning the bathroom. Washing dishes. Making breakfast and bringing it to Grey in bed.

Silver isn't as tall or strong as his dad but he'd also carry Grey if she's feeling particularly exhausted.

Noelle with Aimee, Naru, and Filomina

Beach day with Mama Noelle!

Naru is showing off how well he can swim! He's a born natural and the girls joke that Naru isn't just a Water Mage but water itself!

Naru and Noelle like to have swimming races. Naru says that he always lets Mama win because it's Mother's Day. But really, he just can't compete with Noelle's grown up speed.

Aimee and Filomina can swim too, but they like what they can do on the shore a little more.

Aimee builds (very lumpy) sandcastles and Noelle helps with the moat and getting water in there.

She also tries to draw Noelle's portrait in the sand and as ugly as Aimee draws every time, Noelle adores it and says she's never been drawn so beautifully.

Filomina is a beach comber. She finds shells and sea glass and crabs and coins. She brings her spoils to her family and Noelle gets first pick of treasure.

Filomina once tried digging for buries treasure and stumbled upon a sea turtle nest instead. Noelle found it very cute but also helped Filomina hide the nest again to protect the unhatched eggs.

Helia (oc) with Aecor, Fleuriana, Chalivas, and Soleil

While Fleur and Soleil are the main performers of the family, all four kids participate in putting on a special Mother's Day show.

Soleil plans everything out, given he's always been fascinated by showmanship. Their older siblings follow his lead.

Fleur likes to improvise, to her siblings' frustration and Helia's delight.

Chalivas tends to steal the show, using his Mercury Magic to make mercury puppets to convey a story more easily.

The siblings' attributes synergize well and as much as they argue at times, they always put on a successful performance on Mother's Day.

Helia runs up to her babies and kisses them all over their faces. She's so proud and every year exclaims that the current year's show was the best.

Josele (oc) with Sterling, Dawn, Dusk, Sirius, Merel, and Vivian

Sterling does a divination session for Josele as a Mother's Day gift. Thanks to Josele's life becoming more stable later in life, Sterling's divinations mostly reaffirm the happy and peaceful life Josele has achieved.

Sterling has also used her Remnant Magic to help Josele recover some memories that she lost or became faded over time.

Dawn and Dusk put their musical skills together to perform a song for Josele.

One year, Dawn wanted to perform the love song that Nacht tends to sing to Josele only for Dusk to scold her and say that stays between their parents.

Sirius, once he has his grimoire and is better trained in his magic, brings Josele into his Dreamscape spell and lets her spend a bit of time with a Dream Magic recreation of Morgen.

Sirius disappears into the edges of his spell and lets his mother have a moment. He feels conflicted about it but still does it because Josele looks so renewed when it happens.

Merel and Josele tend to go on nature hikes, picking wild flowers and foraging for wild fruits and greens.

Vivian returns home from her far off journeys for Mother's Day and recounts her adventures to Josele. Vivian also shows Josele her new spells, the emotions and elements that have become connected to her.

The day concludes with Josele and the children all working together to make a grand feast.

Josele with Albert, Varg, Iris, Valerian, Friedrich, Sable, Blanche, and Isolde (AU)

Similar to Silver and Grey, the Morgsele kids are extra helpful on Mother's Day. Josele deserves to take it easy one day after spending the majority of her days raising eight children.

Albert leads the team and is the one to assign each sibling their tasks of the day.

Albert tends to give himself the task of bringing Josele breakfast in bed. He is the best cook of the siblings and he wants mom's day to start well. This means he also oversees lunch and dinner.

Once Varg tried to lock Josele in her room so she couldn't even try to be something other than relax. I say "try" because Josele kicked down the door to get out.

Varg is usually stuck with dusting down the house because his attitude makes it hard for his siblings to trust him with other tasks.

Iris has the best taste in gifts and so he is the one to procure a physical gift. His gifts have ranged from a personally compiled book of poems and short stories about mothers to a magnificent painted portrait depicting Josele in a heroic pose.

Valerian goes to get Josele's weapons tuned up at her preferred shop. And he's the one to do the grocery run for lunch and dinner.

Friedrich has an eye for aesthetics so he refreshes decorations around the house. New flowers are put in vases. Curtains and tablecloths and curtains are changed out. He even moves around any statuettes or paintings to keep the interior looking a little fresh.

Sable polishes every possible surface in the household. From the windows to stone surfaces to varnished wood. She brings everything to a shine.

Blanche is the team's time manager while also doing the more undesirable cleaning, like the bathroom, and trash collecting. Heaven forbid she actually touch anything though. She uses appendages made of magic to handle most of it.

Isolde, as the baby of the family, doesn't get to do much at first. At first, she has to tag along with someone else and help them. But when she picks up sewing, she takes up the task of mending clothes in addition to doing laundry.

Josele gets to sit down with each kid at some point throughout the day to chat with them about what's going on in their lives. She wants to hear all about what her kids are up to after all, and give any advice that they might need.

Jesse Voltia-Swing and Cynthia Enoteca

So not too long ago, I was very excited to have received this commission from @crazycookiemaniac. It features Magna, Luck, and their daughter Jesse.

Now with this post I shall talk more in detail about Jesse as well as someone very dear to her, Cynthia.

Jesse Voltia-Swing

Her name means "gift." Jesse is called "lil’ ember" by her fathers (despite her magic not being fire).

Age: 10

Birthday: November 30

Magic Attribute: Plasma.

Appearance: Mostly blond hair like Luck with streaks of black (got that two colored hair from Magna). As a child, it was a short bob cut and was often terribly cut because Luck or Magna did it. When she cuts it much shorter, Vanessa takes over so she looks much better. She's got blue eyes like both parents that are big and soft.

Personality: Very energetic, maybe too energetic for her own good. She always needs to be doing something as she gets bored easily. A determined girl too. She’s bubbly like Luck but underneath is a temper similar to Magna’s. It’s not often you’ll find her being quiet as she’s either shouting for joy or anger. Thankfully she can be quelled easily.

Jesse is in fact biologically related to both Magna and Luck! More on that later.

Jesse’s got surprisingly poor magic control compared to her parents. Thankfully she’s eager to learn!

Jesse’s closest friends are Naru, Alfred, Aimee, and Cynthia. She's training buddies with Naru and Alfred. Aimee helps her dispel her magic when it gets out of control. And Cynthia is the closest thing she has to a sister though she actually refers to Cynthia as "cousin." Jesse is friendly with Merel and Leoray as they all struggle with magic control and they all hype each other up. She loves Vanessa, even calling her “auntie,” and is close to people like Asta and Noelle too.

To distinguish her fathers, she calls Luck “Daddy/Dad” and Magna “Papa/Pops.”

Originally, she wanted to grow out her hair because of Vanessa and Cynthia but gave up on it because she hated all the brushing long hair involved.

When she turns 15, her magic control has greatly improved and she confidently joins the Crimson Lion Kings.

The scar on her cheek was a result of fighting Ferro Silva.

Cynthia Enoteca

The exact meaning of her name is Greek for "woman from Cynthus." However, Cynthia is also a former subgenus of the Vanessa genus of butterfly (it's no longer a valid taxon but I'm not here to give a lecture on taxonomy). Her mom and friends call her “Cynth.”

Age: 15

Birthday: March 3

Magic Attribute: Fabric. It’s an evolved form of Vanessa’s Thread Magic. She mostly uses her magic to alter her clothes. Eventually, she develops a spell called Fabric of Reality which lets her move between different universes.

Appearance: She mostly looks like her mom with her purple eyes and wavy hair. But the color of her hair isn’t simply pink. It’s a shiny rose gold hue, meaning her father’s golden blond hair had a bit of influence.

Personality: Charismatic and vivacious are the main words to describe Cynthia. She approaches life with great enthusiasm, knowing that’s what her parents want for her. Likely as a result of her magic attribute, Cynthia does her best to be creative. She’s curious too. As a result, she’s tried her hand at multiple arts/crafts such as sketching and wood carving but her favorite so far is leather working. She’s rarely seen not doing anything with her hands. Her playful spirit means it’s hardly ever dull with her. She teases her friends too but sometimes, she can get carried away which she does feel bad about when it’s pointed out.

Cynthia’s parents aren’t officially together. Vanessa and Selen both wanted kids but had no romantic partner. They’re friendly enough with each other that they agreed to have their child together (also doesn’t help that Vanessa finds Selen to be a hunk and Selen thinks well of Vanessa’s friendliness and thoughtful nature). They have joint custody of Cynthia.

Despite her odd family situation, Cynthia knows she’s loved and understands that her parents are happy with the way things are.

Cynthia's closest friends are Ann, Jesse, Fleuriana, and Elana. She's close with Saki through Ann. Soleil's inventiveness and Dawn's determination are inspirations to Cynthia. She's also close with her half-brother (from another reality) Ezio (@lyranova's oc).

She doesn't become a Magic Knight and instead plans to be art teacher. She does go on little adventures to keep the multi-verse stable though.

Were Cynthia to meet children from other universes, she would like some such as Josslyn (@crazyclownthanos' oc) and Hikari (@eme-eleff's oc). But she finds herself somewhat uncomfortable with the idea of her friends being "replaced" by other children.

So the story behind Jesse's birth is as follows...

Magna and Luck got married and after lots of talking, they realized that they both wanted a kid. Magna had fun playing with their friends' kids but also felt fulfilled when he can help them out with life problems. Luck wanted more liveliness in the household and was admittedly a little jealous of his friends having their own families.

However, orphanages weren't willing to adopt out to men of their reputation and both felt weird if their kid was only one of theirs biologically. it was a real blow since they had both changed and learned to control their worst habits at that point.

Luck then remembered Vanessa mentioning that all witches are the Witch Queen's daughters, which meant the WQ knew how to make children without a man. This led them to breaking into the forest and asked the Witch Queen if she could help them get a child. And the Witch Queen... surprisingly agreed! She had one condition though: they had to bring her granddaughter Cynthia (who was 4-5 at the time) in for a visit because Vanessa had neglected to do so yet.

Magna and Luck managed to bring Cynthia without getting killed by Vanessa or Selen. When Cynthia was finally in front of the Witch Queen, she quietly said, "Hi Grandma." Moments after, Vanessa and Selen entered the room and explained the situation. Turns out Vanessa was going to bring Cynthia herself but was trying to explain her history to Cynthia first. Cynthia was scared of the Witch Queen but wanted to meet her still.

In the end, the Witch Queen got to meet Cynthia. The Witch Queen knew she wouldn't really be a part of her granddaughter's life but still wanted to see her once. She told Cynthia to be good to her parents but, if they act foolishly, to get them to stop. Just as Vanessa had defeated the Witch Queen years before. It was a weird but touching moment as it showed Vanessa that the Witch Queen had accepted how wrong she was and was letting go of the past.

With the request completed, the Witch Queen used her magic to take a sample of Magna and Luck's blood/DNA to bring a child into the world. Magna was excited to have a son but the Witch Queen explicitly told him that she refused to create a male child with her magic and thus the boys would have a daughter. Luck was unaffected, excited that he'd have a kid at all. Magna was mildly disappointed until Jesse was actually born and he changed his mind in an instant.

Kai'ichi Yami

🎶 - How do they sound? Describe their voice.

Makoto Furukawa is the VA I imagine for Kai'ichi. Particularly, I'd imagine Kai sounding similar to his performance as Taiju Ōki (third voice in the video).

It's deeper and carries a more boisterous energy, befitting someone like Kai'ichi. He's got a strong voice for his strong body and personality! And that's all there is to it!

💌 - How would they react to a love letter?

Well first off Kai'ichi would have to ask his brother or one of his cousins to translate it for him. Kai learned how to speak the language of the Suit continent but the reading/writing aspect of it is.../lh+j

I kid!

A stereotypical romantic gesture like a love letter probably wouldn't get Kai'ichi's heart all a racing. As I'd said before, Kai'ichi loves through experiences. So he'd much rather hear a confession or a romantic speech in person, so he can hear the person's voice and see their expressions while they pour out their heart to him.

And don't expect him to hold onto love letters. Surely, whatever words were written once before can come back to mind if they were truly sincere.

It's just a difference of values for Kai'ichi.

🍸 - Favourite drink?

Kai'ichi's favorite drink is ginger beer. It's not alcoholic (sometimes, I think) but it's got the kick of ginger and a fun fizz to it that would have him excited.

Cynthia Enoteca

🎶 - How do they sound? Describe their voice.

My voice claim for Cynthia would be Saori Ōnishi. The performance of Ruki Irokawa is probably most suitable for her.

It's not too deep in pitch but there's a soft, sisterly maturity to it that I think would fit Cynthia. She's a little more energetic and flirty than the voice would imply but that's because she's usually very aware of her words and actions, not a total airhead. So a voice that can be light yet composed works best.

💌 - How would they react to a love letter?

If the love letter is from a boy, she's using it as kindling. Cynthia knew from a pretty young age that she was more into girls than boys so any attention from them leaves her bored or bothered.

If the love letter is from a girl, Cynthia would be rereading it a few times to get a feel for who the lady is through her writing. If she's especially charmed, she'd be twirling her hair for the next few minutes and giggling to herself.

🍸 - Favourite drink?

Introduced to Cynthia by Ann Yami, her favorite drink is mugicha, otherwise known as barely tea. It's a got a toasted flavor with a light bitterness that even youths can enjoy. (Personal opinion, I do think it does taste grainy. Not in a bad way but grainy flavor with a liquid kinda threw me off when I first had it.) Cynthia likes the roasted grain flavor and says it stimulates her mind when she's trying to get creative.

BC Next Gen Winter Thoughts

I've got some thoughts about how my next gen ocs would spend their winter days/celebrate Christmas. And now I'm gonna share them!

The Cresswells: Jill and Daniel go out winter camping with their parents. Mama Cresswell knows some good recipes made with wild greens. Jack and Jill hunt a nice juicy boar to roast over a fire. Daniel would use his magic to make new jewelry for his mom and sis and a new cloak clasp for his dad.

The elves: Patry’s family would visit the Vangeance household for one. The men’s shared birthday is actually the main reason with Christmas coming second. Andrea (Alfried's mom) would find her way to attend and give Patry something nice from afar. She definitely spoils all the kids, especially Alfred, with gifts. Alfred uses his Shield Magic to let everyone snowboard. Elfrieda likes making snow men and snow angels (and she will stay up late to catch Santa). Avery would get knickknacks for his squad mates (curiously not having enough money to buy Caelum a gift... how convenient).

The Vermillions: Leoray and Mereoleona go hunt some wild game to bring to the Vermillion Christmas Dinner! Ray would probably give Uncle Fue one of her old training journals because she knows he’d appreciate something that holds memories and logs a person’s path to improvement. Uncle Leo is the one who gave Ray her pet boa constrictor King for Christmas.

The Silvas: There's a BIG House Silva Christmas celebration. Noelle was very clear when she said she’d only come back home for Christmas if the family put in effort for a Christmas party. And by the time the kids are all around, they’ve gotten the hang of it. The original Silva sibs created a tradition of doing a magic show for a randomly selected orphanage, to give the kids entertainment for the holiday. The big finale is always Solid vs Noelle magic display where the kids vote who is the better mage (them sharing the same attribute makes it easy to compare). Noelle’s winning streak is currently at 12. Nebra jokes that Noelle having kids is what's made her so strong. Chalivas and Elana are very strict with Soleil and Skylar about no pranks during the holidays. No ifs, ands, or buts! The servants who work shifts during the holidays don’t need more stress! Elana does go along with Skylar to sneak into the kitchens and "help" the staff prepare the Christmas feast. But all they ever do is taste everything being made. Not that the servants mind. Elana is a little picky but Skylar loves everything! Because they're royals, the gifts exchanged are either classy or niche/weird. Asta and Noelle once got the elder Silvas wine glasses shaped like them. Everyone, literally everyone, was laughing for so long. Those gaudy glasses are on display and the servants love snickering at them. The kids coming along makes things calm down, a little. Eirlys always writes a poem to go with whatever gift she gives the others. Aecor has this eerie ability to get everyone exactly what they want without them ever saying. No one knows how he does it (even me). The first gift Filomina ever gave was a big, sloppy family picture that Noelle will fight to preserve. Nozel, Nebra, and Solid are so embarrassed by it because why did Filo draw them with bird heads? The Astelle family spends Christmas Eve at House Silva but Christmas Day in Hage. Father Orsi’s gift to the kids is a story from a Christmas past with Asta and Yuno. But also tatoe recipes or little trinkets to carry with them. The tears of that man and the parents when the kids put on their first little Christmas concert for the church. Filomina really did sing like an angel.

The Voltia-Swings: In winter, Luck, Magna, and Jesse play in the snow so much! They all run hot so the cold barely gets the them! Sledding in a favorite for Jesse. Luck sometimes comments "And you'll be going even faster than that once you learn how to use your magic like me! Exciting, huh?" Christmas is a day devoted to fun for the Voltia-Swings. Joking around and singingly horribly while they make breakfast/lunch. Taking ridiculously long times to choose what present to open next. The fathers playing with Jesse's new toys. Of course Magna and Luck also take Jesse out to visit friends and they're just so soft for seeing their little girl happily sharing her toys and playing with friends. She doesn't have the most luxurious life but it's better than what either of them grew up with. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are also the two days out of the year where Jesse always shares a bed with her parents. Until she moves out, Christmas is the snuggling days for their little family.

The Enotecas (and Selen): For Christmas while Cynthia is still little, Selen takes her and Vanessa out for a fun joy ride. Maybe he's a giant wolf or a polar bear or caribou. Runs through the snow with the gals on his back. Giving them an experience humans can't really have. They go out to a spot in the woods/mountains without any human settlements to enjoy a view of the night sky that's so beautiful. Maybe Cynthia gets a chance to meet some wild critters. Vanessa thanks Selen every year for doing what he does with Cynthia. The two of them aren't in love but they do love their daughter. When Cynthia's older, she makes a tradition of bringing wool thread and other good insulators out into the woods and leaving it in places for birds and other nest building animals to find so they have something to make their homes even better. The animals see Cynthia as one of their own by the time she's got her grimoire.

The Yamis: The Yamis spend Christmas together, the four of them. Sukehiro cooks up some warm, Hino style stew to enjoy around a fireplace. Charlotte makes some cinnamon hot chocolate. Saki grows some poinsettias and mistletoe for decorations. Blue, red, black, and white roses decorate as well. Ann makes a tradition of reading olf Christmas folklore, the heartwarming and the heart-stopping. I imagine that the Yamis can ice skate. When the girls were small, Sukehiro guided them around like they were doing a little dance on the ice. When they’re older, they can skate on their own. Then one year, a gift is delivered to Saki. It’s a full set of matching jewelry with a black rose theme. Beautiful and expensive. Sukehiro was really confused but all the women seemed to know who it came from.

The Adlais: The Adlais, along with Auntie Marie, go out for a winter stroll. They’ve got baskets and thermoses of hot drinks with them. Grey and Marie attract the wild critters like a couple of Cinderellas. Clara spots and picks some wild winter berries. While Silver and Clara are really young, Gauche would carry them on his back when they got tired. The stroll ends at an empty field where they lay out thick blankets and have a picnic out there. Grey and Marie work together to make the best Christmas feast. Gauche and the kids are in charge of dessert. I also imagine Gauche gets into the habit of making his gifts for the family. Wood carved dolls or knitted scarves. He's a secret artist, only for his family though. He spent so much money on gifts for Marie in the past but in the future, he learns how to make presents really meaningful by hand crafting them.

The Roulacases (featuring @sailor-muno's oc Mallory): The Roulacase family wears the ugliest sweaters you will ever see! Mallory picked them all out herself (even got one for Finesse so she can pose with her space sons). Actually, Lukian helped pick them. Finral can hardly keep a straight face with his on (in a good way); he loves how enthusiastic Mallory looks when she can find matching sweaters. Caelum is beet red wearing his but Dawn thinks it’s cute and is a little jealous so he would eventually give his sweater to her. Raphael is happy to wear an ugly sweater if it means driving away people that would usually flirt with him. Amarielle is running around showing all her friends and the family friends her sweater because she thinks her is adorable (and it is! Ugly cute!). Theodore laments his is a little scratchy but thinks it’s fun and knows its how his mom shows her love.

The Fausts: I imagine the Faust kids being a bit musical in their free time so special occasions in the Faust family is celebrated with music. The Faust family plays some songs together, just for themselves. If they go in public though, they would go dancing. Josele loved dancing with Morgen and loves to dance with Nacht so she wants to pass on that love to her kids. Nacht lets his daughters stand on his toes while dancing with them. Dusk and Sirius would also offer dances to their sisters. Josele and Nacht definitely have the last dance before the whole family goes home. Christmas dinners are feasts for the family. Josele takes the children out hunting and foraging for wild ingredients. Nacht and the devils then take over in leading the cooking effort. Josele sometimes joins in on the cooking but Nacht usually convinces her to rest so they split the job evenly. A creamy rabbit stew is the most common Christmas dinner with sides of roasted greens and berry jams and sweet rolls (the only thing store bought). When it comes to gifts, Sterling promises not to use her magic to know what she gets ahead of time. She also refrains from using her magic to determine what gifts are "correct." She goes with her gut and it's hit or miss. Sirius has the best record with gift giving, seeming to always get perfect gifts. Dawn has a gift of giving everyone the same thing (giving everyone books, but one suited to each person). Dusk obsessively keeps receipts in case someone doesn't like a gift and he insists on getting them a new one. Merel is the type to make gifts, she learns from Josele and Gauche how to craft. Vivian tends to get more daring, "I thought you could be interested in this" types of gifts.

5) It's cold and wet outside, your OC has just come in the front door. What do they do to get warm?

First off, Selen is shaking himself down like a drenched dog (regardless of if he’s in an animal form or not). The man probably always forgets to carry a jacket or umbrella and thus is cursed to always get soaked on a rainy day.

Once he’s shaken himself down, he’s grabbing himself a towel (or two), stripping down, and drying up the remaining water. Once that’s done, Selen takes his wrapped up self to the nearest cushion and just blacking out. He’ll do enough work to get out of wet clothes but he’s just lazy enough not to put on new clothes or start a fire.

6) What's your OC's idea of a cozy night in?

A night in for Selen is kinda also a night out? He goes outside, to the roof of whatever house he lives in, to sleep under the stars. The cool night air and the faint light from above is comforting to Selen.

20) Do they hog the blankets?

Not really. Selen’s body runs warm so he’s usually kicking blankets off of him. He’s a pillow hogger though. He likes wrapping himself around other stuff for whatever reason. (Btw, I can imagine that when Cynthia was little and slept beside Selen, he'd end up squeezing her in his sleep because she's small and the perfect size hugging size. Just a little father-daughter bonding...)

22) How would they solve the one bed and two people scenario? Could they share a bed?

Selen is a little cheater. He’d transform into an animal and just curl up on the floor (yes, Selen can maintain a transformation while asleep). He’s perfectly content like that since the animal body is built for that. He’s only really ever shared a bed with his family, Magna, and Vanessa and gets awkward about it with anyone else.

5) It's cold and wet outside, your OC has just come in the front door. What do they do to get warm?

Hot shower is the first thing on her mind. She doesn't mind being wet, it's really the cold factor of being cold and wet that gets to her. So she'll rinse off with a hot shower. She'll then dress warm and finish drying off in front of a fire. It's a process for Cynthia.

6) What's your OC's idea of a cozy night in?

Cynthia would construct herself a blanket and pillow fort and get comfy in there. She'd have a mug of tea to drink and a notebook to write or doodle in. She could also bring along her arts and crafts kit if she really wants to get creative in her fort. For Cynthia, being cozy is being hidden away from the world, tucked in a warm space where she can let her thoughts wander and maybe create something.

20) Do they hog the blankets?

Unlike her dad, Cynthia runs cold. So she will in fact hog the blankets on the couch or bed when she's settling down, just to sit or to nap or sleep. Even when she's sound asleep, she'll find a way to drag blankets to her and securely wrap them around her body like she's a burrito.

Cynthia has joked that "it's not my fault that all the fabric gets drawn to me. That's my magic, y'know?" Very silly but that's what she's said in the past.

22) How would they solve the one bed and two people scenario? Could they share a bed?

Cynthia is fine with sharing a bed with another person. She's done it with her parents as a child and when she babysits Jesse, they cuddle up too. With someone she's friends with or at least knows well, she's perfectly fine sharing a bed. She'll just be careful not to sleep too close, depending on their person's boundaries. Cynthia would, understandably, be hesitant to do it with a complete stranger.

If needed, Cynthia would use a bit of her Fabric Magic to create a curtain barrier of some kind with some kind of ability that will keep her and the bed partner from getting too close. But that would only be possible once Cynthia is older and stronger and able to cast spells that remain in effect even while she's sleeping.
