What if Floyd calls us shrimp bc of the shrimp things Ursula eats in the movie?

I think this might have been the intended reference in EN; when introducing himself to Yuu, Floyd says, “Awww, look at you, scurrying backwards like a shrimp afraid of being someone’s lunch! And on that note… You’re so teeny, I’ma call you ‘Little Shrimpy’ from now on!”

He provides the reasoning for picking that nickname for Yuu in-universe, but the fact that he specifies they are “like a shrimp afraid of being someone’s lunch” sounds a like a potential callback to the following part in The Little Mermaid. (It’s even more suspect than I originally intended because if you watch the scene in full, the shrimp shrink back from Ursula’s hand as she reaches for one, similar to how Yuu backs away from Floyd.)

I should note that, in the original JP text, there is nothing indicating that Yuu is afraid of being lunch. The localization sometimes adds additional flourishes that don’t exist in JP (such as giving Cater and Idia even more slang, adding more sass and sarcasm to Yuu’s dialogue options, etc.), so this is important to note!

This show is PHENOMENAL. Starts as a fairy tale show, slowly starts to discuss fate vs free will and the archetypes that fairy tale characters have to play and what would happen if they could fight the narrative. Also has one of the most perfect endings to Duck's arc that any protagonist could ever have.
