True. Also just realized Neptune and Triton both send their royal servants (Sebastian/Mr. Beeston) to go keep an eye on the main heroine (Ariel/Emily) XD.

How do you think the Emily Windsnap movies will depict King Neptune? He looks and acts a lot like Disney’s King Triton. On one hand I want the movies to be as faithful as possible. On the other hand I’m not sure how they’ll depict Neptune faithfully without risking a Disney lawsuit 😆.

I feel like they'll probably depict him similarly to the books. The name 'Triton' is a greek god, the son of posiden, and the 'old man of the sea', and I feel like a lot of myths and stories have ocean gods with a very similar vibe to Trition and Neptune.

I'm on the last Emily Windsnap book! It got me thinking back to how Mary and Millie each adjusted differently to Allpoints Island. Mary hated it while Millie loved it. Do you think it's because Millie's partner was more supportive? Or because Mary is more adventurous? (I also got the vibe Mary's a bit tomboyish, given her love of sailing and her complaints about the mermaid beauty lessons)

I do agree with all of these, and I also think that Millie was generally a dreamier, more fairytale-like character, while Mary had the clashing forces of her fears and her desire to explore!

Seeing how gatekeep-ish “Wicked” fans are, especially to fans whose only exposure is the movie…. I really hope the Emily Windsnap fans don’t gatekeep our fandom when the TV show premieres.

My fingers are so cold, it's a miracle I don't have more than a pirate typo lmao. Although, now I kinda wanna see what One Piece volumes are at the library now and if they're ones I've read before now or not. Or maybe pirate books in general, arrrgh 🏴‍☠️ (couldn't find a pirate emoji). Or no, wait the Emily Windsnap Series! I know there's more to that series I haven't seen yet, I'm gonna look. I am having many, many feelings about OCs recently but... let me put some canon ships here:

Ansur/Balduran bg3... yes, I thought about "dear ansur" again. What about it.

Jayce/Viktor from the Arcane series. I have just stopped crying about season 2. I am normal.

Solas & Mythal from Dragon Age. In whatever way you want to view that relationship, of course. I have so many feelings about it.

To be honest, I am less invested in ships right now than I am in specific characters? And their relationships with all characters they interact with outside of a romance. I have kind of... stepped away from the kind of shipping right now where I just NEED THEM TO BE TOGETHER OH MY GOD and more towards "heh imagine if those two had sex (but nothing else going on)".

Your HCs about Penelope and Telemachus being part Naiad, remind me of “The Tail of Emily Windsnap”. It’s about a girl discovering she’s part mermaid, raised by a single mom named Penelope, and goes searching for her missing dad at sea. It honestly has a lot in common with “The Odyssey” (sirens, sea gods, suitors, memory-wiping food, etc.)
