QSMPblr, I have a favor to ask.

As you might or might have not known, Mike has been participating in a hispanic event called 'Hormigeo' for the past week as the only Brazilian. Since Tuesday, he has been receiving racist comments by some streamers.

Yesterday, Mike saw that a streamer called Farfadox was building a house and he decided to compliment it and give him a rose. Farfadox took the flower and replied it 'thank you, monkey'. (Clip)

Today, a streamer known as Hasvik was killing Mike in the game and before killing him, Hasvik said 'Im sorry, but I dont like cold monkey soup'. (Clip)

This is completely unneceptable behavior, and I ask if you guys are able to go into these two streamers twitch pages (Farfadox , Hasvik ) and report them for hateful conduct, under slurs and symbols. It would be appreciated.

Mike does not deserve this. He was so excited to play in this hispanic event, asking other streamers to only speak to him in Spanish so he could learn and connect with them. And what does he get in return, racist and xenophobic remarks? Unneceptable.

For those that don’t know, tonight (October 25th) there has been a series of mass shootings with multiple suspects involved in Lewiston, Maine, USA.

There are 18 confirmed deaths so far and 60+ injured with 2 locations involved. The shooter(s) have not been caught, multiple counties are on active lockdown with shelter-in-place orders.

The primary suspect is a white man from a military background in firearms, Lewiston has one of the largest concentration of refugees in the state, and anytime the Lewiston/Auburn area gets any news coverage, there is an increase in hate violence against all of the people of color in the area.

People and news outlets are absolutely going to try to spin this to place blame on the immigrant and refugee communities in the area. It is so vital that people combat this racist misinformation.

Maine is a small, rural state without the resources or infrastructure for anything like this. Hospitals are overwhelmed, even with backups being called in from New Hampshire and Massachusetts. I'll post updates and fundraisers for the community as they come up. I'm so worried for my community.

Tumblr user cute-catts, an account supposedly dedicated to showing cute cat images/videos has been recently posting videos of essentially cats dying brutally to then post cute content again as if nothing happened and now the nail at the coffin was of them justifying the xenophobia and antisemitism of Israelis by posting a video of presumably Israelis throwing a cat off a high building as a way to call Israelis in general monsters. No warnings were given, nothing, just straight up the video for shock value.

I really gotta warn you because it appeared on my TL so suddenly, and the account treated it as ONLY ISRAELIS are able to do that even tho that sadly, no matter the nationality, everyone is able to do be sick enough to do that.

Please be wary of looking at it, I couldn't report it myself cuz it appeared to me so suddenly and out of instinct I blocked the account, but did not report, I 100% recommend you reporting it.

I do not care if it's a "part of activism", using life of an innocent being such as cats, human children, etc... For likes and reblogs is absolutely disgusting and these past few years this type of behaviour has become extremely common, and this classifies as disregard for life.

Some of these comments include dehumanization of Israelis and jews in general so be careful.

I've been ia for a while because of how lowkey hostile this community has become lately, and I will probably continue to be so until there's a proper resolution, whatever it may be. However, I've seen some stuff that has been said by some of the ex qsmp admins in the midst of them recounting their experiences that I cannot help but be greatly bothered by, and, as a non english speaker, is important for me to say.

The way that they have been bashing quackity for making statements in spanish, his native language, and for streaming in the time zone he lives in, is not okay. I've said in another post about how disgusting I think these kind of comments are, and being an affected party in the admin situation does not make you an exception in my opinion.

The admins have every right to talk about what they went through, their feelings are valid and they absolutely deserve compensation for their work, because they were treated horribly, there's no doubt about that, but they are not immune to criticism, especially if it's about casual xenophobia. This does not stop at lèa's interview, as lumi also didn't have a spanish translation for her document, something that prior to the interview, I didn't think about too much, but now, I can't stop thinking about. Mind you, when it comes to xenophobia, there is absolutely no denying what the french and brazillian communties went through, but you do not fight xenophobia with xenophobia.

I completely understand that it's not easy to be the one to speak about any type of abuse they suffered, I said before that because of how shitty this situation is, that all sides would make mistakes and choices that people would not like, and for me this is one of them. As stressful as it must be for them, the ex admins have a lot of eyes on them right now, and saying these kind of things have consequences; I have seen way too much xenophobia towards the hispanic community and it's actively horrible to see because, unlike other times, the other communities are seemingly ignoring it. A twitter post saying that you do not condone harrasment does not erase what you publicly said previously.

I'm gonna be honest there's more that I did not like about that interview, the way that lèa talked about the admins that are still on the team, her response to the fact that she leaks stuff... I just... didn't like it, but I wanted to talk about the whole "quackity spoke spanish" thing because it's something that I feel really strongly about. It is NOT easy to make any statements in a language that you do not natevely speak, let alone very important ones, no matter how good you are at it, to write all of this it took me two hours and I probably still made mistakes or misspoke somewhere.

I do not how to end this post, I'm just frustrated that this fandom now goes at each other throats at littlest things without question or critical thinking and that xenophobia is now so normalized. I just... expected better I guess

im writing this while im shaking and crying so i don't know if something i say will be misspelled but i feel the need to tell everyone who went thru so much shit just for being asexual, i feel you. I feel you so much and it hurts as hell, i still do therapy to heal myself for so many things i went thru when i was so young and had no idea that "there was nothing wrong with me. I could have said no. But it's not my fault i didn't said no. It was not my fault for being manipulated to do stuff i didn't wanted and that just made me uncomfortable and disgusted. It was not my fault and there is nothing wrong with me." For everyone who's aspec, aro, ace, aroace you guys are amazing, you are valid, you exist and your existence is enough there is nothing wrong with you and you are not alone. I felt alone and i still feel alone for being aroace to this day, im still figuring things out but i know im not alone. I know that. Not only that but also there was a lot of xenophobia and racism happening towards us, brasilians. This is awful, makes me feel sick and heartbroken. But im also proud to be who i am, im proud to be brasileira im proud to be aroace. Your hateful comments makes you a sad existence, it's terrifying to know that people can say so much shit without a single feeling of empathy. To everyone who felt hurt, who had to deal with anxiety, everyone who also had a hard time seeing so much hate, to you who still in pain, im so so sorry, im so sorry this is happening but we are in this together, you are not alone. Don't be afraid to be yourself, be proud of your nationality be proud of your roots and don't be afraid to bloom be who you are, be proud of your sexuality be proud of your identity be proud of your existence. did you know thievuls are thought of quite fondly in spikemuth, and that many spikemuthians have a nickit or thievul as a companion?

its because of how similar we are. how many view spikemuthians as nuisances or criminals, quick to make judgment calls on the people there when the people have done nothing but try to survive.

and it goes back further than when spikemuth became spikemuth, back before the homeless built this city and made it home. many spikemuthians are descendants of the equirexians and kingsmen, two groups of people who were seen as nuisances to the galarians with only one group, the equirexians, surviving to the modern era with their culture and having to be the ones to help the kingsmens culture come back.

but this post is more centered around the kingsmen. did you know, towards the end of the kingsmens time, as the kingsmens lycanroc were being exterminated, they began to bring in thievuls to fill in the gaps? thievuls and the early boltund (a species they bred into existence from lycanroc and manectric i may add) were some of their main partner pkmn towards the end.

that was until the galarians took the boltund and began to breed them into what we now know them as, a pkmn that when used for hunting is primarily used to hunt fox pkmn.

thievuls, a pkmn that once stood proudly by the side of the early boltund, were now thought of as nothing more than nuisances that the boltund were to hunt. they werent desirable, thats why they werent taken in mass and bred to fill some sort of role. no. their role was simply to get out of the way or be hunted.

much like the kingsmen when there was nothing else to take from them. much like the equirexians when there was nothing else to take from them.

much like spikemuthians, and while spikemuthians arent hunted, they werent really helped much either. nuisances.

spikemuthians have much the same history as thievuls. the same kinship. the same connection.

does a thievul look at a boltund and remember? does the boltund remember? or are they just now the hunted and the hunter? no longer companions side by side?

A year ago I would've been so happy for Taylor, but nowadays whenever I think about her I can't help but think about Ana and how she didn't give a shit about her and was able to move on like nothing happened. She wouldn't do the same if Ana was American. She would say her name, wouldn't make her death about her, would pay a real homage to her like she did with Ronan. But Ana was a Latin American girl, a black girl, while Taylor is just another rich white woman who pretends to care about minorities only when it benefits her. At the end of the day money is going to be the most important thing to her.

My personal analysis of Drama Queen

Tw: talk of racism, implied (in subtext) xenophobia, unreliable narrators, and constructive criticism.

I don't wanna be *that* person, a contrarian for the sake of it. But I just read the first chapter of Drama Queen... i initially thought it was some tone deaf trash put out by a mangaka who didn't rethink their direction. Or someone who actually thought they were being "profound" in spreading actual racism via manga.

But then it dawned on me... It's a satire. It's some sort of horror satire! It just HAS to be!

We have two protagonists who have bad or traumatic experiences with a member of the other race - one whose sister was killed by a drunk or reckless driver, and the other who has a very crummy boss - and they internalize whatever struggles they are going through currently and take it out on the entire race because of it.

But we never actually see anything super extreme other than some run of the mill, "everyday hassle, life is kind of crummy" vibes. There are plenty of people who have wanted to kill their bosses because they had put hands on them or are too cheap to give them better working conditions.

There are plenty of people who have lost a loved one and feel a sense of resentment towards the world and possibly a god, maybe because they were close with this relative and they feel it was unfair that they were "taken" from them.

But in manga like this, there's always some sort of turning point some sort of dawning realization where you realize "Oh my gosh, these things, they really are evil." A betrayal of some sort, a witnessed crime, an evil plot whispered and overheard.

We see none of that. We only see what the main character had wanted to see. Because her disdain of them was already so set in place.

And we only see - nay, we hear - what the second protagonist wants to say what happened. We don't get the lead up to that. He just comes into her house and then suddenly dumps a body, saying what happened. Nonchalant as well.

There are plenty of people who would go to their fellow racist buddies' place to help them cover up a hate crime. And they are also the certain kinds of people who seem to only be happy whenever they are with someone who is just as miserable as they are.

I also paid close attention to the angles and expressions that were shown of these characters. They're always sinister looking, and they're always frowning. They're always resentful and hateful. You don't really see a moment of actual reflection or how they wish they could be part of this world and love their neighbor despite their traumas.

We are reading this from the perspective of the villains. And we can only hope they get a possible comeuppance in the end.

These people dont deserve a place here and as much as they claim to be part of this community they arent actually part of it. Because they dont understand or embrace what this community is all about.

This server and community is about celebrating our differences and finding our similarities. Its about learning new things and excepting and loving people for who they are. Its about sharing languages and cultures and connecting. And i hope that (despite everything) we will continue to do that one step at a time <3

I can't even imagine how fed up with everything cellbit is, especially after seven years of this shit. its a horrible situation to be in and he doesn't deserve it. please, if you are still siding with his ex-girlfriend get away from my blog and if you want to read the full document cellbit has released about this I'll reblog this post with the link. it explains everything in detail and there are some very very sensitive topics spoken about in it so be wary about that, but it clears his name and that's what is important.

if anybody uses this situation to further be aphobic towards him or anybody you can happily go fuck yourselves. you are pieces of shit for that. and if anybody uses this situation to be xenophobic towards the brazillians and their community, simply fuck off. you don't deserve to have a voice about this situation.

I really hope this doesn't effect cellbits platform (obviously anymore than it already has) and I hope he can take time to recover from this all. its a disgusting thing to have happened but it has, and now we can only work on making him feel appreciated and taking down everyone that has been xenophobic and aphobic as a result of this situation.

My guy it should stand as a bigger concern to you that Checo isn’t South American because it points out that Marko is a decaying shell who can’t even get his bigotry right. Both he and Horner have made multiple xenophobic comments about Checo they walked back or waved off as jokes, and Max has defended them for it.

With all respect to Franco, Red-bull don’t want him because they think he’s going to be a new champion, they want him because he’s shiny and new and they want to put a claim on him before anyone else can. Red-Bull specialises in giving poison apples to desperate hopefuls.

They did the exact same thing with Nyck De Vries, and if you want a more worrying indicator as to Franco’s future you need only look at what happened to Nyck. Or Pierre. Or Alex. Or Danill. Either you swim and they act as if it was their plan all along. Or you stumble and your career dies in half a season.

There’s a reason we call that seat cursed and it’s not really about superstition. It’s because Red-bull uses drivers like skipping stones. You fly or you sink and you’re not getting recovered unless you provide enough money to justify it. And that doesn’t even start on the state of their Junior program, they’ve always got three or four all waiting like starving mouths for a seat, Hadjar, Hauger, Iwasa, Marti, Goethe. You are always replaceable.

A true and genuine argument can be made that having a seat is always preferable to no seat at all because a foot in the door keeps you in the minds of others— it’s how Ollie got his seat if we’re honest, it’s how Mick remains in contention to return, it’s how Nyck got in. But the Red bull seat is a Monkeys Paw if I have ever seen one.
