Imagine a scenarios where one of the characters gets to gain godly power and now can make the world a better place like he always wanted to

but for the first time he felt anything other than completely emptiness and indifference was when his brother died right before character got that power

and it never was HIS plan to make the world a better place. It was his brother wish. And he always followed that wish because his brother was the only one in fact who was making him feel at least something. Momentary joy. A hint of pride. Attachment.

but his loss made the character feel such strong emotions that he can't stop thinking about it, because even this bitterness, this sorrow and grief were better than eternal emptiness

and now he seeks same attachment, watching people imperceptibly, trying to find someone who can make them feel. So that he could watch them perish and feel something again.

also I think he's confused cuz' he's happy to see Syzoth but it's happening right in front of his ssubordinates and he's not sure if he wants to stop his tough guy aura in their eyes (Syzoth doesn't really care, he just wants to cuddle 🥰) I love how in fics they're making Syz a super clingy cuddly guy 🥺 absolutely lovely fella, absolutely adorable
