There are many variations of this one depending on which parameters you use, but this is an example of a Lissajous curve

Lissajous in a Box
My first ever attempt to use traditional descriptive geometry techniques to create an image of the 3D Lissajous figure described by x=sin(t),y=sin(2t),z=sin(3t).
The "3D" axonometric image in the center is maybe slightly reminiscent of a human heart. It is created from the two 2D Lissajous figures, described by sin(t)/sin(2t) (the butterfly on the bottom) and sin(2t)/sin(3t) (top right, in blue - mouth of a monster worm ;-) ? ).
Actually, there are two curves of each type, one being the twice the size of the other. I am coloring the surface spanned between them, as if it were a ribbon. Also showing the cubes that contain each of the 3D figures. The 2D Lissajous figures are in turn created from the respective sine functions (also shown as black curves) ... which in turn are created from the y co-ordinate of points on a circle.

Lissajous Curves: Roller Coasters
Roller Coaster design This post continues from the previous post on Lissajous Curves.  Make sure to read that one first! We can design a rollercoaster track by using the following Lissajous Curve: This gives the following graph: Ground level is given by the line y = −50. Distances are in metres and t is measured in seconds. Customers ride an elevator to the starting point (0,50) where the ride…

Homemade vector driver circuitry for a cathode ray tube.
I want you to read that again.
Homemade vector driver circuitry for a CRT.
Jarrett made this himself from scratch, and controlled it from a raspberry pi attached to the serial terminal below it that he found in a ditch! The pi was watching live aircraft data from ADSB, so we could see real air traffic in the radar mode. He also had some interesting lissajous patterns, and a rendering of a witch.
It was one of my favorite exhibits from VCF Southwest 2023

Improvisation using no-input mixer, stylophone, loopers, and my drum synth (pure data on raspberry pi) + midi controller. I have updated my drum synth patch to add a (non-quantised) tap-a-pattern function for the kick drum hence the wonk.
The visualisation is a Lissajous figure, produced by software called PrettyScope.

Above, in the Divine plane… there is a golden circle and in the center there is a Point,
where the Divine, the origin of everything, is located. From the Point different vibratory
radiations move outwards toward the Cosmos and, surrounding it, in blue tones are,
among other symbols, the Signs of the Zodiac (The Wheel of Life).
When a plant, animal, or human dies, the Vital Life Force leaves it … and then the atoms break down into electrons, protons, and neutrons. In the final phase of disintegration, every atomic sub-particle rejoins the Cosmic Keyboard according to its vibratory nature. Thus, no element participating in the constitution of a living being is actually destroyed in the course of physical decomposition. Its atomic sub-particles merely undergo a transformation and purification that allows them to return to their initial state. Only
appearances lead us to liken death to some kind of destruction, for actuality is entirely different.
El Teclado Cósmico (The Cosmic. Keyboard) (1961) Nicomedes Gómez the Golden circle refers to the 'golden' phi ratio shaped torus , which in plan view looks like a circle - the centre point is the center of the torus , where the golden ratio spiral compresses to its point of origin, from there the in-phi-nite expansion of this spiral creates reality - theres an app called iThrve - this app when used by everyone that tries it, reveals that when they meditate (stop thinking) the app shows our heart generates a cascade of golden ratio harmonics on the flat screen of our mobile, the waveforms of peaks and dips is really in 3D a golden ratio spiral.

Whoa, I think I may have just rediscovered one of my earliest formative influences. The intriguing geometry of the cycloids and lissajous patterns. The jarring contrast with the bizarrely shapeless and unformed face, intensified by how completely unsynchronized it is with the ominous, faintly-menacing audio.
If Very Small Me had been familiar with the concept of eldritch Lovecraftian horror, this is what I would have thought it was like. It's only slightly less nightmarish now that I'm old.

The album "E-Stim Audio - Knobs and Wires" is now publicly available to everyone! Hooray!
We invite you to have and come take a listen! We are very proud to present this album to the public after a month of it being subscriber only!
Please read the description and we hope you enjoy this album as much as we loved creating it!
Have fun! and happy stimming :-)! -------------------------------------------------------------------------
One of our most pristine albums ever produced. Created using generative ambient techniques with the help of hardware synthesizers for the first time we've created an album. We tried to create our most diverse album to this date. It contains all sorts of E-Stim Audio soundscapes. From ambient to melodic, from deep to high tones, each with their own texture and timing. It's something you have to try and listen to for yourself to see what tracks are most suitable for your particular purpose.
This is a gift to all our subscribers as a thank you token for all your support.
We hope you enjoy this album as much as we loved creating it, which took a long time.
It was one of the hardest album to create and we hope this reflects in the quality of the E-Stim Audio audio tracks.
The album was created in 96Khz 24 Bit using the latest recording and mastering techniques, and we have to say sonically it's one of the best E-Stim Audio albums we've ever created.
This album is completely Tri-Phase ready, as the stereo imaging is top of the line. That's why we can definitely encourage you to use an oscilloscope to analyse the lissajous patterns of the tracks we've created.
Please consider subscribing for more content like this!

Finally making time for working on my backlog of digital art not yet uploaded to any galleries!
Three Four Five is now available on INPRNT (who still / again(?) seem to have a sale).
A three-dimensional Lissajous figure described by sin(3t)/sin(4t)/sin(5t) - highlighting its 2D projections.
It was fun to create something digitally, that I first did traditionally using ruler and compass!
Code art:
Tumblr media
Initial traditional drawing:
Drawing (pencils, watercolor pencils, markers, gel pens) - using techniques of descriptive geometry.
Lower frequencies though, less intersection points - 234 instead of 345.
Showing two kinds of projections: The ones living in 3D, on the co-ordinate planes (just as in the digital artwork, blueish / greenish) and the ones in their "true size" (yellowish) that I actually used for the construction - creating the axonometric projection (purple) from the yellowish ones.
