what kind of fragrance do you think would best fit a musketeer? i’m thinking something with a dominant leather scent but i’m curious what you think!
ooo interesting!
when i think of musketeer, i would think of leather and gunpowder (...on account of their muskets lol). my brain also goes to sea-based notes too but i think that's going too far into pirate territory, and we're talking about a completely different thing - so i'm going to avoid ones with those!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
laudano nero by tizinia terenzi
strong, dark oud, tobacco, smoky, and woody. i wish this had leather because if it did i think it would be 100% perfect, but i think its vibe is not at all a bad choice for how i would envision a musketeer may smell like.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ombre leather by tom ford
this one is pretty dominantly leather, but in a very smooth refined manner. i don't think this as 'rugged' as one might like for a musketeer, but it is a really good leather fragrance with some woody undertones
Tumblr media Tumblr media
anubis by papillon artisan perfumes
now this one is a way more rugged, rough take on leather. there's a nice warm spiciness with smoky tobacco and a really good rough suede leather.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
african leather by memo paris
this is, to me, is a very powerful tannery leather vibe. very warm and complex. could match a powerful musketeer with a taste for spice
this one is sadly on preorder right now, but i think aequitas by etsy store darlingclandestine would be perfect as well!
unfortunately, a lot of leather fragrances are pretty expensive tbh :( but these all have fairly affordable samples to try!

Panel 1: Then she flinches away, raising her hands to shield herself from a bit of thrown rubble that hits the wall near her head.
Rebel: Another one o’ them dead ones!
Panel 2: She stumbles back, trying to explain herself to the hostile group of rebels but unable to.
Hollow One: I’m not dead!
Rebels: Back, monster! Kill it!
Panel 3-5: She flees. Catching sight of her reflection in the broken window of an apothecary, she startles back in fright.
Panel 6: She stares, taking in the ashen skin, the white-streaked hair, the blown pupils, the rope scar, the mutilated ears, the inky tear stains, the dark blood dried in streams down her neck from her ears and mouth. Searching her face for familiarity, she touches the freckle under her eye, and realizes that it is, indeed, herself.
Panel 7: She walks away from the city alone, into the snowy woods. As she walks away from town into the winter night she leaves a trail of bloodied footprints in the snow.

It was a gloomy night when Celebrimbor felt that he was betrayed by Annatar. [...] He sat on his chair, feeling disoriented, and before he could think, he was running through the streets Ost-in-Edhil, searching for the one he avoided for centuries.

Hermès Waikiki Besides telling the Hermès story, the store’s design embraces the legacy of the Hawaiian islands with a climbing garden wall, echoing the lushness of the surrounding environment. The façade allows for sunshine and light to burst through each level. Natural bamboo elements throughout the boutique bring the full range of Hermès collections to life in a warm, intimate setting. The flagship store features 3 levels of sales grossing over 10,000 sqft and a grand staircase with an adjacent 35′ tall nature wall. The store is the #3 volume store for Hermes in the US (after NY & Beverly Hills) and features an exclusive collection of Filipe Jardim accessories. Designed by Montes Laudano Architects and built by @DCCRevealed, this is the first store in Latin America that shows the new design concept of the Parisian house, which was carried out by the Cartier International team, in collaboration with the 4BI & Associés office in Paris under the command of the architect set designer and designer Bruno Moinard who also designed the interiors of the Cartier Foundation.

A very colorful still life watercolor painting by Virginia D. Laudano (of Sun City Center, Florida). The front side is signed on the lower right. Circa: most likely 20th century.
The backside of this painting is a little mystery. It’s unfinished, and I am not able to determine if it was done by the same artist.

So, in "Brazil are you ok?!" news, a young woman was allegedly hit with a stick by a bolsonarista in a bar.
Tumblr media
The incident happened in Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro, on September 23rd, 2022. The 19 year old, Estéfane Laudano, was with her 23 year old sister sister Esther discussing politics at a bar when a man approached them saying he was a Bolsonaro supporter. They answered: "Okay, it's your right, but we're talking to each other." They say he nonetheless kept saying a lot of nasty things and started cussing them and other people who were with them. He then left there and came with a piece of wood to attack Esther. Estéfane sister got in the front and ended up getting hit. Estéfane further says the man kept saying her sister took hormones and wanted to be a man, hence she should "get beaten like a man".
The accused, Robson Dekkers Alvino, 52 years old, says he was "joking" when he approached the sisters claiming to be a bolsonarista, that they made homophobic comments against him, and threw a bottle at him when he was leaving the bar, making him throw back a stick to defend himself.
Estéfane got seven stitches on her scalp.
Between the beginning of Brazil's election campaign, on August 16, and the end of the first round, on Sunday, October 2, there were at least 148 cases of electoral violence, according to an exclusive survey carried out by Agência Pública. That's an average of 3 attacks against voters, candidates, journalists and research institute workers per day.
Attention is drawn to the violence of the attacks and the strong presence of firearms. At least 6 people were murdered for political reasons during the campaign, which also had 9 other attacks or assassination attempts. The figure excludes the death of Workers' Party member Marcelo Arruda, in Paraná, as it took place before August 16, but includes Benedito Cardoso dos Santos, a supporter of former President Lula, who was murdered with more than 70 knife and ax blows by bolsonarista Rafael Silva de Oliveira in Confresa (MT), on September 7.
Of the 148 mapped cases, 25 involved firearms (17% of the total) and 4 attacks were carried out with knives or sharp objects, with 3 of the murdered people being stabbed. Almost half of the cases – 73 – involved physical violence. Cases of psychological or moral violence, that is, offenses and threats, totaled 99. In 29 cases there was property violence, such as attacks on cars or campaign committees, for example.
More than 50% of cases of violence were motivated by political disagreement between victim and aggressor. In 36% of the situations, the attack was committed by supporters of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL). In 8%, the aggressors were supporters of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). In 61% of cases, it was not possible to identify the aggressors.

Harry Potter Frafrance
Tom Ford Ombre Leather.
Sartorial Penhaligon's.
Grey Vetiver Tom Ford
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Straight to Heaven By Kilian.
Tumblr media
Death and Decay Lush
De Profundis Serge Lutens
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Laudano Nero Tiziana Terenzi
Patchouli 24 Le Labo
Tumblr media
Pulp Byredo
Mandarine L'Artisan Parfumeur
Premier Figuier L'Artisan Parfumeur

scorrono e presto muoiono,
e tu resterai solo, mio caro,
