Aaa as someone with very little understanding this is probably a vague question, but how does Michigan and its Glorious Scary Lakes fair with climate change? I live in California and it’s just dry and so so so hot and on fire a lot, which is making picturing zora’s domain tricky!

Same as pretty much everywhere, Michigan is seeing effects of climate change, but it's not the same effects you're probably seeing out west! The Great Lakes do insulate us a bit, though.

Even within my own lifetime, we're seeing less cold winters with freezes happening later. Anecdotally, warm temperature spikes mean that snow thaws during the winter and doesn't really accumulate in the same way. Increased temps means we get heavier rains, which can in turn result in flooding--much of lower michigan is very flat so we don't really get mudslides so much but flooding is still very not good. Ice coverage on the Great Lakes has decreased in the winters, which means a longer traversable shipping season but also negative ecological impacts--and also thin ice on the Great Lakes means you can't do things like drive to islands over the naturally-forming ice bridges, which is not crucial but is fun.

We do get tornadoes, which have increased with severity and frequency. Overall, though, we're still not at risk from hurricanes; we're usually too wet for widespread wildfires. The thermal battery of the Great Lakes does insulate us a little from temperature swings and droughts. We get blizzards but we're prepared for blizzards, so while it can be dangerous, it's generally a hunker-down-at-home problem, not a evacuate-at-risk-of-your-life problem.

Picture a red horizon and bright blue skies. That’s how you’re greeted by Arches National Park in Utah! This unique landscape began forming 65 million years ago, when an ancient dry seabed occupied the spot where these incredible arches now stand. Over time, the forces of nature shaped the sandstone, forming mind-blowing structures. And there are quite a few! There are more than 2,000 natural stone arches, the largest concentration in the world. In today’s image, we can see two of them: Double Arch, framed by Cove Arch. The largest arch in Double Arch spans an impressive 43.9 metres and soars 34.1 metres into the air. In 1929, this natural treasure was protected as a national monument, and on this day in 1971 it officially became a national park.

K.... Kenny.... probably ............ BUT if I had to pick something not ass-breakingly obvious... Tweek? I just fucking love seeing him on screen and his freaking out sounds are so fucking funny and relatable to me lol.

18. Your favorite character and largest headcanon for them?

KENNY. And idk, outside of obvious appearance hcs I have, I think my biggest one is how much duality he can have? Like he can seem so chill and lighthearted and mischievous, but when things get serious or he's feeling deeply, he can turn around with the most sober expression and just deep eyes that it almost feels unreal. He knows more, and hides more, than he lets on.

20. Hopes for seasons going forward and specific episode tropes you'd like explored?

I think it goes without say but I'd just like some classic stuff with the boys where they're doing their thing. It'd be refreshing after so much depressing Randy-driven stuff lol. That's what I'd just like in general. If I were really hitting the pipe dream, I'd love some Kenny moments, and a "suddenly really sincere thing despite being in the midst of crazy shit" type of moment. "These adults are so oblivious and pigheaded that even us kids are fed up with this shit let's gtfo" moment.

Like, if Stan and Kyle had a moment where they were like "hey I know things have been really weird, but you're still, like, my best friend". Would love that. Prayer circle for a good ep akin to The List or something lol.

I sometimes forget Vatican City is a real place. I know the name and every time I hear it, I always immediately think of it as a place that's in some terribly animated Christian cartoon. Then when I remember it's real I can't help but to ask myself "are we really doing this?"

As a fellow Canadian who's been there, Rodney taking the team to WEM sounds absolutely hilarious

oh my GOD you have no idea how excited i am for this fic 😂😂 i grew up in edmonton (where west edmonton mall is located) and i have put WAY too much thought into this 😅 it's gonna be entirely self indulgent fluff (ft jeannie because i love her and how could i not) and i am already in love with it and it's not even half done

here's a few scenes i really like just cause:

“Mer, are you sure you’re not going to get us lost again?” Jeannie teased, laughing at the way her brother rolled his eyes and huffed in annoyance.

“I was 8 years old! Are you ever going to let that go?” Rodney rolled his eyes again as his sister and team laughed at him.

“C’mon buddy, relax. We’re back on Earth, in Canada, at some random mall in a random ass city. Let’s just enjoy ourselves.” John tried to appease, and laughed at the glare both siblings suddenly gave him.

“I’ll have you know, Sheppard, that this is not just some ‘random mall’, this is the largest mall in Canada and the third largest mall in the world. It also has a themed hotel, as well as over a dozen different attractions, including a water park and amusement park!” John just laughed again.

“Well then let’s get started, we only have a few days here before we have to go back so we might as well make the most of our time. What’s first on the list?”

“I’m only here for today, and I really want to see turtles, so today we are starting with the sea life caverns! Let’s go!” Jeannie linked her arms with Teyla and Ronon- an amusing sight- and started eagerly dragging them towards their destination, grinning widely when they both followed willingly. John and Rodney followed behind, happy to be able to hold hands here, far away from the watchful eyes of the US military. Jeannie was surprised the day her brother announced his relationship with the Colonel, but after spending more time around the two of them she understood it completely. No one else, not even Jeannie, had ever understood Meredith Rodney McKay completely like John Sheppard did.

The sea lion show was fascinating, and Teyla and Ronon marveled at the sheer magnificence of the creature. They watched in awe as the sea lion dove into the water, gliding effortlessly through the water and jumping up to perform various tricks. Ronon jumped out of his seat in excitement, almost knocking over Rodney (although John caught him, of course), when the mammal climbed the tower and leapt off, hitting the giant red hanging ball and diving perfectly into the water. Jeannie even surprised all of them with a special act in the show that had all 4 of them tossing fish to the sea lions and they even let Ronon pick one up, which had everyone in the audience cheering wildly. They left the show with pictures of their experience and aching bellies from laughing so hard. They were still giggling about it by the time they found their way to Bourbon Street, the wing of the mall full of restaurants.
