I need Gen Z to stop abandoning fandoms the moment they stop getting canon content. It’s literally killing off any potential future the show has.

I know that sounds weird because “how are we missing anything if it’s over” but just because the original story line ended doesn’t mean people still can’t build more on it.

The "more" doesn't necessarily mean a sequel because there’s still things like remakes, art books, comics, spinoffs, livestreams from the creators, etc that have a chance at being made. There’s so much potential that the original story has to keep growing but if the hype dies for it the nanosecond the story ends, you’ll never see it.

Biggest example of a living fandom consistently bringing in new content is Star Wars. Star Wars is still around and getting new movies and shows because the fandom is alive, not in spite of it.

There’s plenty of Star Wars fans who don’t give a shit about anything other than the original trilogy and that came out almost 50 years ago. The fact that people are still dedicated to that has allowed Star Wars to continue on in this century and the same can be said about some of your favorite fandoms.

Remember, we live in a capitalistic society, meaning that a company needs to greenlight anything for the future but if they see that their potential consumers are willing to just throw the product to the wayside once they don't get anymore content, there's no way they'd ever make that.

Keep fandoms alive.

I hate that every social media platform has switched to a video centric format. I fucking hate it. Every app is so loud now. Instagram used to be quite. You could put on music and scroll to see what people are up too. Nope. Now everything has music on it or gets turned into a reel. This is why I fuck with tumblr. It's the quiet website. Just you and and the voices.
