i'm reading the kids are alright: a turks side story and there's a bit where the turks have decided to look for jenova again, but there's a lot of interference from the people from edge, so when kyrie canaan gets attacked, tseng goes to check on her (and sort of kidnap her... dw about it), but she has a conversation with kadaj of all people and when i tell you tseng was freaking out.

"Opposite her was a teenage boy with silver hair and a well-structured face- and Tseng immediately felt his heart rate increase. He bore far too strong a resemblance to that infamous Shinra Company creation. Maybe it's just the silver hair, Tseng tried to tell himself, but the piercing eyes, too, called him to mind. A man once hailed as a hero who later tried to destroy the world.

"The memory of facing Sephiroth and all his fury came rushing back- being cut down, left for dead. It was all the Turk could do to stop his limbs from trembling as he looked the boy in the eye."

like DAMN. tseng is one of the most stoic, put together people in this universe- to get the information that from his point of view, sephiroth renders him terrified?? that's fucked.

I can't believe these two are technically IN-LAWS. That's right you heard me. Rufus Shinra is in-laws with Kyrie Canaan. She's his "technical" sister-in-law. Evan (Rufus' younger half brother) is in a relationship with her and it's so sweet that I don't doubt that they got married later on. Crazy how these two are even connected.

Yuffie and Cait Sith remind me of each other in that both use a cute facade to manipulate and steal from people.

They differ in that Yuffie's success is hit or miss, she reveals exactly what she's trying to do, and she's quite open about the good cause behind her antics.

Cait Sith hides his act perfectly, but his motivations turn out to be much darker - until, ironically, it turns out he (or rather, Reeve) was playing all sides for his own, surprisingly good cause.

...and then there's Kyrie.

Nearly drowned Kyrie in a lake

Stole the name of Kyrie's dead best friend for himself

Shook Tseng's hand and immediately knocked him the fuck out

said "Sephiroth? No no, he's not my mother"

Pretended to be Evan's dead friend, ripped apart a METAL arm cast, and healed Evan's injured shoulder

When Evan said he was dead, kadaj responded with "what no that never happened you're crazy. anyway"

Got shot

Burned down icicle inn

Jumped onto the front of a helicopter and stabbed his sword through the bullet-proof glass like it was paper

Or, on christmas day while slightly motionsick aboard a train travelling across the country, I spent a couple of hours making this little illustration of Kyrie in my fic FoTC. Is it the most accurate drawing of Kyrie you've ever seen? Nope! But it *does* visualize the flight leathers (and the beret!) that the Courier Division utilizes, which is the important part to me!

Me? Creating convoluted lore, including corresponding uniforms? *Ofcourse I will.*

Chapter 3 is around the corner, I'm currently around the halfway point, and will probably end up rewriting some sections a few more times before I even am happy enough to begin editing it. But man, there's a lot that needs to be said by Zack, and boy oh boy, he be yappin'!!
