I love Brutalia and I know you've reblogged some of my content before. So do you have any Brutalia headcanons?

ABSOLUTELY!!!

bruce didn't really keep up with popcuture during his time traveling so when he got settled back in gotham he got into the habit of making mixtapes on cassettes, he gave a lot of them to talia when he met her and even made her a few custom ones

talia talks a lot when she gets upset while bruce shuts down, if they're both upset at the same time you'll see talia talking his ear off while bruce lays down and just listens because it makes him feel better

whenever she's in the states she always takes bruce to try different immigrant run and owned restaurants

talia loves food tours and took bruce on one while they were on vacation abroad

talia loves giving massages, she has specific oils she uses while helping bruce with his back injuries because he gets breakouts all over his skin with most essential oils

they are both autistic and so is damian

bruce makes a killer french toast and the smell of it WILL wake talia up out of a sound sleep

talia loves any and every kind of fruit except raspberries so when a fruit salad or parfait or something comes with raspberries she gives them to bruce because she thinks he likes them. he can't stand raspberries but eats them anyway

talia gets chronic migraines with seemingly no triggers so bruce has a dark room for her in the manor, it has adjustable lights and a record player so she can listen to soft music without exposing herself to the blue light of a screen

they absolutely love amusement park dates, talia gets so excited over big roller coasters and bruce spins their cars ridiculously fast on teacup rides, both of which make talia's hair fly everywhere so bruce is always adjusting it for her throughout the day

bruce speaks just as many languages as talia but his accents when speaking chinese dialects are questionable at best

damian got his habit of vocal mimicry from talia and they'll sneak around to different rooms in the manor and mess with bruce by putting on the same voice, he knows it's them but also knows they get a kick out of the first 15 seconds of his initial confusion

they both have boxes of letters from one another from their times apart, some were sent back and forth and others weren't just depending on the state of their relationship at the time

they go dancing, talia loves jazz classes while bruce is partial to tango

they can communicate with their eyes, a whole, fully understood conversation from across a room with 0 words, just 👁👁👀👁👁👀

they both need glasses and love seeing each other wear them but they always wear contacts out of convenience

Roy fidgeted with his coffee, glancing at the barista, at the menu, outside the glass walls to the gloomy Gotham winter, at the cute, coffee-themed centerpieces on the table, and, in short, everything that wasn't Dick.

Dick smiled.

Roy flinched, even though he wasn't looking in Dick's direction, and Dick's smile grew teeth. He wrestled them away, because he wasn't actually trying to terrify his old friend. At least not yet.

Roy did not look appeased.

"So," he said finally, when he realized Dick wasn't going to break the silence. Dick was the one who'd run into him stumbling out of his little brother's apartment covered in hickeys, Dick was allowed to wait him out. "How--how have you been?"

"Fantastic," Dick answered, taking a sip of his latte. "What brings you to Gotham?"

Roy winced. For a moment, Dick wondered if he was going to stutter out an excuse and flee--but Arsenal was made of stronger stuff than that.

"I was working a case with Jason," Roy said evenly.

"'Working a case'," Dick repeated lightly. "Is that what the kids call it these days?"

Roy winced again. Subtle jab about the age difference, successful.

"Look, man, I know he's your little brother, but Jay can take care of himself! Also, this is totally discrimination, how come you're giving a shovel talk to me and not Kori?"

Dick did not raise his eyebrows though he very much wanted to. Roy and Kori? He didn't know whether to be offended or impressed. Even he hadn't had the balls to go for both of them at once.

"Who said this was a shovel talk?" Dick took another sip to hide his growing smile.

"You practically dragged me to this coffee shop for an interrogation--"

"I just wanted to catch up--"

"--and I don't care what you say, if Jason wants me to leave, he'll tell me, so I won't take any of your bullshit--"

"I literally didn't say anything--"

"--and I really like him, and Kori too, so I'm not giving them up for anyone or anything!" Roy ended on a defiant shout.

Dick studied him. His cheeks were red, but his eyes were determined. Dick knew just how stubborn Roy could be when he set his mind to something, and it seemed like the full force of his protection now rested on Jay.

Dick took another sip. "I'm happy for you," he said when he could open his mouth without laughing.

"I don't care--what?" Roy looked dumbfounded. "You what?"

"You're one of my oldest friends," Dick finally gave into the chuckle. "I'm thrilled that you're happy, and that Jason is too. And Kori." Roy narrowed his eyes. "I don't know why you thought this was a shovel talk."

Roy squinted suspiciously. "Because you Bats are the most overprotective fuckers on the planet."

Dick widened his eyes in his best approximation of an innocent look. Roy, after years on the Titans, was unfortunately immune.

"I know you're up to something," he growled.

"I'm just enjoying a coffee with an old friend, who I recently discovered is dating my little brother," Dick said serenely. "I have no ulterior motives here."

Roy hmphed.

Dick hid his smile again and leaned across the table, dropping his voice to a whisper. "Because when Batman finds out you've been working in his city and defiling his favorite, precious, innocent child..."

Roy went gray, face washing out underneath his freckles.

"...well, it was good to catch up while we could," Dick finishes his coffee and stands up. "Best of luck, Arsenal."

hello welcome back i adore the bullshit. i have to admit that i dislike JayKori and tbh i don't like or know Kori well enough to enjoy any ship with her she just. exists outside of my periphery and isn't the sort of character i'd enjoy. so those i fear i am unable to give thoughts there BUT THE OTHERS-

JayCassTalia is !!! so good? i really like Talia and i've been getting more and more into the al Ghuls so i find that fascinating. i think the respect Talia would have for Cass could almost border on a motherly jealousy, wishing *she* had honed her child into such a perfect weapon. i think CassTalia could be such a fun sort of mother/daughter incest ship of Talia promising to take better care of Cass. and then Jason in the mix is so fun bc Talia rlly shaped Jason for who he is today and i do think she loved him. maybe she loved what she saw of Bruce in him or maybe she loved how he existed outside of Bruce. both work so well. Talia being into both of them and them both falling for the attention of an older woman? yes i love it (also i will one up you with this- JayCassTaliaNyssa. fuck with Talia and Nyssa's complex over each other)

CassRoseChesire is so good from the thought of traumatized daddy issues and all of them being raised to be weapons, not ppl. the solidarity in that combined with feeling like being the only ppl who understand what that's like? it's so good. and it also has such fun conflicts in where they all fall on moral issues. very much a "you don't have to be human around me so stop pretending" sort of throuple and man, the potential in that complex in general. i feel like they'd get cannibalism as a metaphor for love shit.

dead dove JayDonna is VERY interesting, oh my god i never would've considered dead doving Donna. i haven't read a *ton* of comics with Donna but something about Jason expecting her to be a safe person on the Titans he can go to during his very brief period on the Titans and it turns out she's not and she takes complete advantage of him is *so* fun. i like if she's maybe projecting a want for Dick onto Jason too, but she sees Jason as a Robin that she can mold into a better partner than Dick is so this is the even better choice. she gets a blank slate she can make whatever she wants and it's so easy to make him obsessed with her if you lean into the "Jason is a Wonder Woman fan" sort of thing, with her telling all sorts of stories about Diana and promising she'll introduce them someday just to keep Jason coming back around to her.

Jaytemis and Rose truly is a ship that is just "Jason Todd deserves to be torn to shreds by strong woman" and ykw, i support that agenda. i do not think he'd be able to walk half the time but i think he'd enjoy it. i personally enjoy 90s Artemis the most and i think that version of Artemis before DC softened her for Jason could be SO fun oh my god. she would not put up with his shit and would drag him around like a leashed dog. and Rose is a great third for them bc she's also absolutely unhinged and fucked up enough to want Jason on a leash. tbh i see this almost very dark in a controlling with, but that's the fun of it for me. <3

i've not read enough of WFA to know what you're referencing BUT i think CassArtemis could be fun. (tho i hate that one Outlaws comic where Artemis oneshots Cass and calls her a child bc wdym Artemis can oneshot Cass but anyway-) typically i like Artemis and Helena as far as shipping her with a Batfam woman, but there's fun in letting a strong woman look down at Cass and just decide to chuck Cass over her shoulder like a sack of potatoes. i think she'd enjoy just how strong of a fighter Cass is. freak4freak but it's sapphic and they're arguing most of the time.

Jason/Jessica is SUPER interesting. i don't know if Jason and Jessica have a ton of interactions in canon? i've not read much of Rebirth BUT i will always love sticking Jason with a Lantern. JayKyle is my personal fave but i'd love to see Jason helping Jessica out of her shell and getting her to be more confident after her trauma. they cope with trauma in very different ways so i find the idea of putting them together sort of fun to see where they'd clash and align. would he scare her? yes but that's the fun of it. fear kink core.

I also headcanon that any money he doesn't use he just gives away. Jason is very generous, more so with other people's money 😂, but he wouldn't hesitate to recirculate all that money.

I don't think he has qualms about his partners being rich, tho. Or royalty. He strikes me as the kind of guy that will take the opportunity to live the life and do whatever if he doesn't have to worry about money anymore.

He is the malewife of the polycule. The trophy husband. And a happy one.

Upon rewatching Titans 3x12 I had this burning thought in my head that I must share with my favorite Dickkory stan. Dick’s relationships with Dawn and Barbara had one common thing: They wanted him to be like Batman, the Batman the one who’s cold, closed off, without love, pushing people away, keep on fighting with rage and anger, and grief. How Dick was as Robin before the Core 4, now when he was in Lazerous he was worried about turning into the Joker who Robin was but more psychotic, but when Dick got forgiveness from his Father it brought out the light. Dick’s pure light and love came in the form of his and Kory’s child, Kory the one who didn’t want Dick to be Batman, or Robin, even Nightwing. She just wanted Dick Grayson, and Dick’s heart was locked and his feelings were buried, but when he sees that child she was the key to unlocking his heart and showing him he can have love, a family, he doesn’t need to be Batman he can be Dick Grayson. Ma’ri showed him his feelings are always valid and showed him who his true love was all along: Koriand’r (Season 1 established that with him giving into darkness because of her). Why I love Dickkory’s relationship it gave Dick a breath of fresh air with real love and support instead of being driven into a corner by his previous relationships. Kory was the real starfire in his darkness

OMGGGG!!!! This was so beautiful my dear! YOU ARE RIGHT! One of my favorite episodes of s3 is Home and it's because it keeps pointing to Dick's home being Kory and the titans. That is where he is the most human and the least weapon. Where he is allowed to share his fears and his burdens and not shoulder everything on his own. Dawn wants him to be Batman to avenge Garth. FIX IT DICK. But they never wanted to take responsibility for what that meant. Barbara wants him to be Batman, because she wants him to save the city. SAVE US DICK because Batman is gone and you're our only hope. But they never realized that wasn't his job. He didn't have to do it alone. He has a family now that can help.

Kory never asked him to be Batman and that was for a reason. She told him he needs to choose. And as confusing as that line was in s3 it definitely meant to me that he needed to decide what kind of man he was going to be and quickly.

She understood him the most and is his one true love. The other girls were just practice. 🤭
