i made a post in these tags a while back, but i was semi-verbal at the time and wanted to remake it at a better time, and that time is now.

basically, i'm an alter in a system and i've been considering that one of the following are possible for me: -i have undiagnosed bpd minus the jealousy but especially with identity disturbances and it is mostly localized to me as an alter -i have very intense kinshifts that make me feel like i am becoming or have become a different person when i shift into that kintype, and that these kintypes include both an au version i made of my source character (i'm a fictive) and a self-insert also of my own creation. -i am a median and/or have a subsystem

i've talked to some system friends about it and gotten their input on what being a median or a subsystem in a system is like, and after comparing that to my experience, i think it's less likely that i have bpd (as all of my symptoms but the identity disturbance can be explained by other disorders i'm already diagnosed with) and more likely that this is either a kin thing or a subsystem thing.

if anyone reading this has ever been in the situation of needing to determine if they were experiencing bpd identity disturbances, intense kinshifts that caused your sense of self and goals to completely change, or a median and/or subsystem, what is some advice you would give to someone in that situation?

Question for nonhumans that get fictional crushes??

does anyone else have fictional crushes that just really appeal to their nonhumanity? Like yeah Wolverine is really hot but also my wolf brain is always like “he would be such a good protector and provider, look he’s feral like me, he wouldn’t think it was weird if I growled and bit him, look!”

Like I always feel like I’m more attracted to characters/people that are more in touch with that place and instincts that border on therianthropy.

Just me? Is this a unique experience??

When i use kin as a verb i use it in the same way i use introject as a verb and it's just weird and upsetting when ppl insist kin can never be both an action and an identity. I can say I introjected Valentino and nobody says shit but then I say I kin Valentino and suddenly it's a big problem of language misuse and implying that kin is not an identity?? Is my fictive identity somehow not real if it has an element of action to it? It happened in the back of my brain while I wasn't looking, but it was nevertheless an action, and we experience our kin identities in the same way. Why the hell do people accept system experiences so easily but then purity test the exact same experience if framed as kin

after 3 centuries i finally managed to properly redesign my dumbass sona, i was gonna initially just change their hair for a more androgynous look but then i. changed their lore a bit too

basically they volunteer for various jobs like delivering mail and milk, nursing and gardening (even though that's also their hobby)

no one knows their gender or their real name but they go by various plant/nature related names (like willow or sunflower)

This is hard to answer, because it's different for everyone, especially depending on if your identity is more spiritual or psychological. But a common experience is seeing a character and thinking "that's me!" Or similar things. For me, I used to get random headcanons about Elizabeth Afton and I was confused about where they came from. Now I know they aren't headcanons, they were memories. But it's good to ask yourself questions and write down the answers. I have an entire google doc of characters I'm kinsidering and why. Some good questions to ask are "Do I see myself as this character?" "Do I feel like I was or am this character?" For some people they might feel strangely connected to a character, but not in the way someone who is fictionhearted might feel, more like being connected to this character because you feel like you are them.

For the last couple of weeks I've been reflecting a bit on my childhood and past. Remember when I said that it was surprising that I wasn't a dog therian because I acted a lot like a dog before? I've been noticing uhhhhh behaviours and instincts I guess that I THOUGHT were catkin related, but now I'm realising that is more dog-like. Things like getting (a bit too much) excited when eating meat, those times when I was obsessed with chewing stuff and (clean) bones, barking for no reason because, fuck yeah, barking.

Also, my roommates (who know I'm nonhuman) said that I sometimes acted like a cat, no doubt, but I have "dog energy" in their eyes. Which I don't know what that means. I also sometimes do noises that are more dog-like than cat-like.

And I started considering that maybe, just maybe, I'm both a winged cat, a watcher, and a dog. Just maybe. I have to make more research on behaviours, breeds, and seeing if it's involuntarily behaviour (I'm guessing it is, but who knows), and... yeah kinsediring. Just a few thoughts.

If anyone wants to reply to this you can! Because I have a few questions for dogkins or dog therians. How did you know you were dogkin? How did you know which breed your theriotype is? How does it feel like to be a dog?
