#Last night got a bit out of hand to be honest#Roach (not the horse) and the Scoa'tael guy disappeared as soon as they got there but I saw them later sitting on the roof of the barn#not talking or anything#just sitting real close#So the hot Temerian Lesbian and the other elf just circled each other all night#but they looked real cozy when I saw them passed out on the parlour floor this morning#N(ot my)uncle Regis and his 'high class cannabis' kept me company#while Nuncle Geralt and Dandelion tried to get the spymaster to leave the Princess alone#Yenn ignored me because I'm not her fake daughter but then when I pretended to pass out she helped Regis find me a bed to sleep in#and they both stayed awhile and kept touching my hair while they talk#though obviously neither of them felt anything approaching parental#Dandelion staggered out of Nuncles Geralt and Regis' room this morning#got some orange juice and staggered back#and that was all just the pre-party#tonights going to be fucking wild

Danse: (Is as white as a ghost at his spot by the campfire)
X6: (Says nothing while shuffling on his own two feet, hands in his pockets)
MacCready: “Can’t you just… Tone it down a notch or two?”
Jasmine: (Throws up her hands) “It’s Halloween!!! It’s suppose to freak you out!!! That’s the point!!!”
Piper: “After all the spooky scares we pulled on each other during the prank war- we all are a bit tender!!! So give us a break! Now we have to worry about some vengeance filled Mexican lady coming after us!”
Jasmine: (Rolls her eyes) “¡Cobardes! Y’all are a bunch of sissies! I’ve been hearing this story since I was born and so had most of the kids my age in my neighborhood.”
MacCready: “And I’m pretty sure you kids were living off a gallon of coffee and three hours of sleep all the time!”
Deacon: (Comes out from behind a bush dressed in a white nightgown and a long dark wig) “OoOoOoOoOoOo!!!” (Slowly moves towards the campfire, the smoke machine he set up earlier adding extra dramatic flare)
Jasmine: (Points and gasps) “¡La Llorona!”
MacCready, Danse, and Piper: (Scream bloody murder in sync)
X6: (Stands there stock still as his soul silently leaves his body)
Nick: (Comes running over) “WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?!?”
Everyone: (Dives behind RoboDad for protection)
Jasmine: (Runs up and puts her arms around his waist, staring up at him innocently) “Papi- La Llorona wants to take me away and drown me! So you hafta protect me!”
Nick: (Heavy sigh as he picks the teen girl up) “Not the vengeance ghost lady again- haven’t you told enough of those scary stories?”
Jasmine: (Huffs) “No- I haven’t told everyone about El Cucuy yet.”
Nick: (Glances behind him at the trembling adults) “Maybe hold off the scary stories until after Christmas…”
Deacon: (Waves his hands around some more) “OoOoOoOoOo!”
#So the version of La Llorona I heard growing up was that she wouldn’t take adults. Just children.#Specifically children that weren’t listening to their parents and being wild at night.#Especially by the riverside or the lakeside. So as long as we hid behind an adult- we would be safe.#One of my older cousins would tell us this story at night while we were sitting around the fireplace at a river or lake.#And he would hide his speaker in the woods to play her cries to scare us.#But jokes on him because us kids just got ready to go to war with La Llorona. We were ready to square up to the ghost lady.#At night we would look out the windows of whoever house we were at and try to spot her in the distance.#So our Google searches were consisted of “How to summon La Llorona”.#If her cries sounded like they were close- La Llorona was far away. If her cries sounded far away- La Llorona was actually very close.#Anyways- Jasmine likes to tell these stories around campfires. #thinking a lawttt about how pyrite was described to be the same color as a peach a lot#the freckles as described in the id are supposed to make her look like the inside of a peach#she has scars all over her body bc she was enchanted to be really clumsy so i would imagine she would be constantly getting hurt by acciden#her feet [and other skywing feet] have a fifth toe on the back kinda like raptor claws that they use for balance and grabbing things#in winter turning the original pyrite[?] was described to have black eyes so i gave her really big pupils -#- that would probably make her eyes look black head-on#she has lil bear ears btw !! i think skywings and icewings have bear ears bc theyre smaller and wont get cold as easily . also theyre cute#i just thought the crest of spines would look cute but then i realized the resemblance to icewing spikes so i added them to the tail too#the antler horns looking like icewing reindeer horns also wasnt intentional i just wanted them to look unique -#- instead of the generic straight horns or curved i usually give skywings#i think she has quite a bit of icewing remnants left over despite the spell actually#like i would imagine her fire is weaker than the other skywings and would be a lot less hotter#she also instinctively isnt used to skywing proportions hence why shes sitting the way she is with her legs all weird and wings not closed#other than that shes rather boring and isnt very flamboyant bc i think scarlet would think she doesnt deserve it#i dont really have any other design notes everything was added last second or by complete accident gafksndkxk#I JUST REALIZED THE THUMB ON HER WING IS BACKWARDS . you ever think about how similar Ron and Glenn are... like you ever think about how their arcs almost mirror each other, but in opposite directions? Like, ron gets better but Glenn gets worse. you ever wonder what would have happened if they swapped arcs and ron was put on trial and the dads had to go into glenn’s memories instead? how would that have changed things? (would it even change anything?)
because i have not stopped thinking about this idea... like, would glenn’s struggles be seen as more sympathetic if he was not literally being judged? would ron have been found guilty of being a bad dad/bad person?
because why were they treated differently? (not a rhetorical question) why was one punished and the other understood? is there a possibility that it could have worked out differently? it is so so interesting to me to prod at ron and glenn’s differences, and i think examining their characters in relation to each other via swapping their arcs (either just the anchors or both anchors and finding sons) is like. really cool i guess.

#my whole family was murdered except for my brother who managed to escape#i was dead. i was very much shot in the face and killed#i also nesrly escaped but one of the guys saw me and asked if i wanted it to be painless.#i said 'just do it from here please. please dont make me come to you.'#and then pov switched to following my brother.and i eventually realized it was me following him#i just remember thinking i have to watch over him. i have to make sure he stays alive. i have to make sure he doesnt kill himself.#then i remember my body being.. semi autopsied ? people after the murder were looking over my body. at my teeth and gums. my hands.#i was concious as this was happening. i was rhinking how i cant just 'wake up' right now#but i eventually did when they went to look at the rest of my family's bodies. and i guess i left to find my brother for Real#i met a kid at a seven eleven who was talking about raggedy ann dolls to me. i like. wasnt all bloody and Bullet Holed anymore#but i remember thinking'why isnt she scared of all the blood on me'#i kinda woke up after that#idk. its early 1 am now. that sucked. goodnight for real.#first one was just my dad being a dickhead and disrespecting 1 my time and 2 my physical boundaries Sitting too close to me and guilting me#over ‘making him feel bad’ over both those things#dream journal

I’m becoming who I’m meant to be, slowly.
I’m inhabiting my body as a home as I make it such that it is a home for me.

Also it’s a lovely studio! Masks required, hepa filters running, quiet area, but still near a bus route, was quiet once some of the people left (my artist was also super surprised that all of the tables were in use when they arrived at the shop too!!) and even though we didn’t chat (they put in their faq basically that they often forget to chat so bring headphones or whatever to do while they work) it wasn’t awkward or anything. It felt like such a safe space and I adore it so much :) (and it’s more local to get to than the other one that I’m definitely also going to go back to too at some point hopefully this year) (yay local queer owned covid cautious studios!!!!!)
#shatters’ tattoos#shatters’ fragments#ok time to eat something else#bc it’s been a while since my last meal even if I took breaks while tattoo#had a juice box for the first break before we drew the plant in there#and then before we did my leg while they were printing out the design I had a granola bar and water#and then afterwards I had a chocolate bar and another juice box and water#and then for the buses home I just had some water between buses but considered if I wanted a fourth juice box today but I didn’t really#but now I’m a bit hungry#today was fucking WEIRD at first#like popping in real quick to work?!?#class!! which I’m actually SUPER EXCITED for and about its great so far#and then walked around with a classmate who’s probably now my friend and popped into a bookstore#but it was super hot by then too#so I went off to get close to the studio#and had sushi in the shade of the parking lot before walking over#and trying to like. drink water and stay hydrated before going in#was definitely intimidated by how many people were in the shop at first#they said that it was highly unusual for all chairs/tables to be in use at once#(and they own the place!!)#but it’s such a lovely and welcoming space tbh#I’ve been to the studio once before for a market#but this is the first time I’ve been while it’s set up as a tattoo studio (it’s usual use)#and it’s just so good 💖#truly made my day really nice at the end#finally got to cool down quite a bit once I was sitting still and then laying down for the tattoos#(…actually I’m a little annoyed I paid $9 for coffee this morning actually but alas anyway)#and it was just. I know a lot of people liked the show but also a lot of people liked fallout 4 so idk if any of you mfs can be trusted
#fallout new vegas#i am SO pretentious about fallout and im happy to be#literally i hate how the ghoul looks so.much#MELT THAT MAN#I WANT THAT MAN GREEN AND YELLOW AND GRENREGINOUS#ghoul fuckers you people are barely even monster fuckers#thats not my ghoul!!#also the ghoul lore in the show dorectly contradicts the game lore#you dont start going feral you either are or your arent#its qlso literally a dorect reference to the VERY REAL horrors of atomic bombs#its why feral ghouls dint have clothes#they were so close their clothes got disinterested#also there arent more ghouls unless a bomb goes off#you only become a ghoul by being in proximity to a bomb#being a ghoul is also like were making light of it but#while not immortal thats just how some.people like#looked after the nukes in the real world dropped#we like to joke here but fallout is at the end of the day a very intense political satire#and to dull any of that down to basic zombie horror....#idk it doesnt sit right with me?

#sdmi#scooby doo: mystery incorporated#brad chiles#judy reeves#tl;dr they are Like That in large part because pericles fucked them up in a very particular way#that made them dependent on him to give them cues for what to do and validation for the results#and when they suddenly had that ripped away they dealt with it by just making a closed loop where they follow each other in circles#in order to make one semi-functioning adult with a semi-functioning ability to actually choose to set out and do things#nothing else really *matters* to them outside of that fragile closed loop (and christ it is fragile); they set up a steady source of income#and then just fuck off to go effectively be alone together for 20 years; amassing and perfecting a bunch of random skills#because they are both very intelligent in some ways and Need to Stay Occupied; but what else are we gonna do#just aimlessly follow each other in circles and there's no room to actually choose a direction from there#and if anything breaks the closed loop; or doesn't fit into a hesitantly expanded version of it they had in mind#they freak out and they lash out at it even when they're pretending to be cheerful and unaffected#and the only real reason they *did* have to act on caring about something outside that feedback loop before--fred#ended up *being 'sit on your hands and do nothing for 20 years'*; when they are border collies climbing the walls without things to pursue#then suddenly that's gone and they can go care about fred again! except Oops now there is a force influencing them whose entire thing is#'induce artificial craving for Thing.' they try to love fred but they also resent him for being why they spent 20 years with nothing to Do#especially when things are Different now and he's his own person who doesn't really mesh into a closed loop with them; instead of the baby#they could have imagined whatever they wanted about all that time. they are desperately exhausted with caring about fred#and deeply traumatized by having done it; & at this point when a ball is waved in front of them to go fetch that they aren't burned out on#they go 'fuck it sorry kid you come second this time.' and then he *very purposely* cuts ties w/them & therefore any possibility of a loop#and they stop caring completely and lash out instead; especially because the person who fucked them up like this in the first place#has waltzed back into their life and snapped his fingers for them to heel. now they're great tools for his agenda including abusing ricky#'he's a genius right brad' 'my loyal brad and judy' siding w/pericles despite ricky having been a more reliable choice who explicitly treat#them as equals and doesn't constantly insult them and talk to them like pets. and then when something as small as Looking Different breaks#that one last most supposedly dependable loop they had they break down and start lashing out at each other. they 'behave like children.'#there's so much here man. they suck so goddamn bad and they fuck me up. thinking about the oldgang for the rest of my life
