Okay so I wanna talk about the ecosystem of a fandom space like Fable/Bound SMP and those that extend off of it.
(long post below)
So one of the things that kinda stands out to me is that many of the popular ships are just canon. Like⌠off the top of my head the only two popular ships that arenât necessarily canon in Fable are Kaleidoscope (Midas x Malitae) and Prison Duo (Centross x Icarus). But even one of those has been hinted at being canon by Sherbert in a few streams so like???
Looking at this from the outside itâs almost worrying. But the thing is, I think it has to do with three different things that are all unique to the Fable/Mer/Bound (and adjacent) fandom(s) and might actually be the sign of a really warm and welcoming community (as the Fable & adjacent fandoms have always been imo).
Firstly, the medium. If these were not lore-heavy, highly improvisational, live-streamed stories the fandom wouldnât be able to provide feedback and the creators wouldnât be able to react to said feedback in time to adjust. Think about Hermitcraft, itâs highly improvisational, yes. But lore-wise itâs not super heavy and thus all ships kinda teeter on the edge of being canon or not canon. Likewise smth like Whitepine where itâs recorded beforehand (and I think scripted??) doesnât give the creators the flexibility to adjust the content in the same way the fandom is moving as quickly as the fandom moves.
Secondly, the fact that the creators interact with the fandom. Hi, hello, Iâm living proof of this cause if I hadnât gotten picked up by Heyhay and Art I never wouldâve gotten to become one of said content creators. But this goes far beyond that. This has to do with the fact that they listen and interact and bounce ideas off of their fan base. Even if it doesnât always feel like it, the opinions and ideas you guys share out here do influence the story, even if itâs just confirmation that you guys are picking up what the creators are laying down. It still serves as a sounding board to see how well things are coming across, and speaking as a creator myself (albeit a newer one) I find it incredibly helpful.
Thirdly, the size. Obviously if this venn-diagram of fandoms was as large as say Hermitcraft or QSMP the content creators simply wouldnât be able to keep up with the fandom and many ideas would get lost in the jumble. Even just with how large Fable got at itâs peak, there came a point where it was nearly impossible to keep up with the amount of fan art and theories that were being made. So I think this point kinda feeds back into the second, that having a smaller size helps the content creators keep up with the feedback they receive from their art and lead to the fandom having more influence on the story than anyone really realizes.
These three things work together to create a space where people get to feel heard and seen. One of the most enticing things about being a community member for me was having that ability to influence the story, to talk to the characters themselves, to poke them about things I wanted to know the answer to. And when they responded?? It was so cool! I remember I used to keep a tally of little things in the world that I had affected because of messages that had been sent during live chat. It wasnât ever anything big, but sometimes itâs the little things that count. Thatâs why, as a creator now I try really hard to interact with community members. I know Iâm obviously not one of the big creators in this space, but I still want to help you guys feel seen and heard, because thatâs where so much of the magic of being a part of this fandom space comes from imo. And if I can help recreate what helped me fall in love with this fandom space even a little bit, Iâll do what I can.
Anyway, Iâm just super grateful to this community and the fellow creators within it. I have been so lucky to be able to get to experience this fandom from both the community member and creator side and honestly it has just been one of the most overwhelmingly positive experiences of my life, from both sides of the spectrum. I know things like that are fickle. I know fandoms and people are always growing and changing and maybe that wonât always be the case. But I just wanted to say I really appreciate the community that has been built here and all the work that goes into keeping it a positive and safe space. So, thank you guys đ

Doctor Who - how Mary Shelly became a companion of the 8th Doctor but then later didn't recognize the 13th Doctor
This is in a series of Doctor Who expanded universe reconciliations. If you see a contradiction in the Doctor Who expanded universe, you can drop me an ask and I will come up with an explanation for it.
Ask by @silvermaple6
If you are not familar, in the Big Finish audios, Mary Shelly (yes the Frankenstein author) was briefly a companion of the Eighth Doctor, but later met the Thirteenth Doctor on tv in a way that made it clear that Shelly had never met the Doctor before and clearly assumed the Doctor had not met Shelly before either.
So shall we explain how that worked?
A quick list of stories I will be refrencing:
Tv:
The Haunting of Vilia Diodati: The tv episode where the Thirteenth Doctor meets Mary Shelly
The Unquiet Dead: The Ninth Doctor tv episode that first established the effects of the Last Great Time War
Human Nature / The Family of Blood: A Tenth Doctor two-part story that was an adaption of a Seventh Doctor novel
Not Tv:
Mary's Story: The first story where Mary Shelly becomes a companion of the Eighth Doctor. While it is not the only audio story to feature Shelly as a companion, it is the only one that is actually relevant to this discussion
Terror Firma: an Eighth Doctor story set after he travelled with Shelly
Lies in Ruins: An audio story featuring the Eighth Doctor towards the very end of his life during the Last Great Time War.
Human Nature: A Seventh Doctor novel that was adapted into a Tenth Doctor tv episode
Shadow of a Doubt: A two-minute video published during the Doctor Who Lockdown events, starring Bernice Summerfield. You can watch it on youtube right here, and I recommend you do so - it's pretty good and also the crux of my argument.
The Book of the War: the first book of the Faction Paradox series and one of my favorite things to cite in an argument like this.
Okay I don't know if this would be fun for anyone else, but if this were me, I would totally look over the stories and try to guess what the arguments would be. Now is your chance to do that if you want. Also I should disclaimer in here that I continue to assume the Last Great Time War and Faction Paradox's War in Heaven are the same conflict, although that's not really that important to my overall argument. A full justification for that assumption is still in the works.
Okay actual essay time.
So The Unquiet Dead established that the Last Great Time War rewrote a lot of history. And if you're thinking "well hang on is this just rewritten by the Time War" then yes that is my reason, but I also have a lot more evidence to back this up.
Time to talk about Human Nature.
So Human Nature was a book that was loosely adapted into a Tenth Doctor story. The two stories share only a central concept (the Doctor turns into human and the villains are family who want to steal his being-a-time-lord), a setting (England right before WWI), and a couple of crucial characters (Joan Redfern, Tim, and Hutchinson). Besides that, the two versions of the story are quite different.
One notable difference is the villains. In the book, we have the Aubertides - a family of six shapeshifting aliens with distinct personalities and motivations, but strong loyalty to each other. Over the course of the book most of them die, but some escape. The very first one to die is Aphasia - who at the time was disguised as little girl with a murderous balloon.
In the tv show, we have the Family of Blood - a family of four gaseous aliens who are much more united. At the end of the story, the Doctor captures all of them and imprisons them in various places. The youngest of the Family, the daughter, was imprisoned in a mirror along with the corpse she was possessing - a little girl with a balloon.
When the tv adaptation was first made, the Daughter having the same appearance of Aphasia was a simple nod to the fact that the Family of Blood was this version's version of the Aubertides. But Shadow of a Doubt made this whole situation much more interesting.
Shadow of a Doubt was written by Paul Cornell, author of both the original Human Nature and its adaptation, as well as the creator of Benny Summerfield, who was the companion of Human Nature. In it, Benny meets the Daughter trapped in the mirror and recognizes her as Aphasia. The Daughter denies being Aphasia, claiming that was a different her
This confirms three points:
both versions of Human Nature happened in the Whoniverse
both versions of Human Nature are telling the same story - there weren't just two extremely similar situations.
Aphasia and the Daughter are variations on each other
It's not clear exactly why two versions of the same events happened, but my best guess is the giant history-altering war that happened between the Seventh and Tenth Doctors, since it is the only event shown to do large amounts of rewriting of history.
The situation with Human Nature sets a precedent for analyzing this sort of situation, so I feel like that makes a decent case for Shelly's life to have been rewritten by the War.
But come on. I haven't even gotten to talk about any stories with Shelly in them yet.
So Mary's story is the first story with Shelly as a companion. It is also notable for featuring two different versions of the Eighth Doctor. We have Young Eight - this is the Doctor who Shelly begins travelling with - and Old Eight, who has fallen out of a great battle and is deeply injured. It is implied, but not confirmed, that Old Eight is from the era of the Time War. There is some further evidence for this - Old Eight namechecks companions by the name of Gemma, Charley, Ssard, Compassion, Trix, Destrii, Lucie, Alex, Todd, and Rita. All but the last two were established Eighth Doctor companions at the time of Mary's Story's release, but Todd and Rita were unknowns.
Roughly a decade later, Lies in Ruins comes out. It features the Eighth Doctor embroiled in the Time War, and introduces a companion named Ria. Ria is close enough to "Rita" that I believe Old Eight is referring to Ria in Mary's Story, which means for Old Eight, Mary's Story takes place after Lies in Ruins and so definitely in the Time War.
All of this is to prove that Shelly was at least tangentially involved in the Last Great Time War. Furthermore, she only one step removed from a minor wartime power - the Book of the War shows that Lord Byron would later become a recruit of Faction Paradox, a cult that (somewhat successfully) desired to set itself up as a third faction in the War.
So yeah, the changes of history in the War could totally have rewritten Mary Shelly's life specifically without specifically effecting much around her. So when she does not recognize the Doctor or any sci-fi concepts in The Haunting of Vilia Diodati, it is because he history in which Shelly travelled with the Doctor no longer existed.
As for why the Doctor did not recognize her, we have two options.
Firstly, it is possible that the Doctor's memories of this were lost when his memories were altered by Davros. Terror Firma reveals that Davros captured the Doctor and altered his memories of a specific point in his life - specifically Davros removed all memories of the Doctor's companions Samson and Gemma. Mary's Story, and the Doctor's travels with Mary Shelly, are explicitly set during a time in which the Doctor is on break from Samson and Gemma, so it is very possible that when Davros removed the Doctor's memories of Samson and Gemma, his memories of travelling with Shelly were also lost.
The other option is that the Doctor lost his memories of Shelly during the Time War. The Starship of Theseus (among many other stories) shows that while the Doctor can sometimes remember altered timelines, this is in no way a constant, with him remembering the new reality instead of the old one as the War creates it. So it is possible that the Doctor lost their memories of travelling with Shelly because the history those memories were created in was removed.
In any case, when Shelly and the Thirteenth Doctor come face to face, neither knows that in another life they were friends.

Fixing Larry Butzâs character development
âźď¸spoilers for Phoenix Wright trilogy aheadâźď¸
Iâm aware that what Iâm about to say probably isnât anything new in the ace attorney fandom but I wanted to give my thoughts on all this anyway. I know both myself and a lot of the people in the fandom fucking hate how Larry was characterised in the 3rd game. I got told by a friend before hand that they completely ruined his character but admittedly I still held out a bit of hope, only to be majorly disappointed. As much as I adore the 3rd game, it does honestly feel like they forgot about everything that made Larry likeable in the first game. So this is basically gonna be me talking about how I personally would have developed his character.
First things first, they shouldâve kept his personality and bonds with the other characters the same. While heâs similar and Iâm more than happy with Phoenix getting annoyed with Larry, in the 3rd game Larryâs likeable traits are all completely abandoned and whatâs left is just a womanising idiot and it feels like Phoenix straight up hates him. Larry can be a bit of an idiot who pursues relationships with women that donât work out, Iâve got no problem with that as long as he isnât creepy about it. But letâs not forget this dude interrupted an entire murder trial just to defend his friend he hadnât talked to in literal years! Larry is loyal as fuck and in the first game Phoenix notes that while he always seems to get into trouble, itâs hardly ever his fault and he just has bad luck. If he was gonna be shown in the third game that shouldâve been shown more. I guess it kind of is in some instances but never properly and itâs really disappointing.
Secondly, have him either make an appearance or at least be mentioned in the second game. This pissed me off so much Larry wasnât so much as mentioned in this game. We obviously talk about Phoenixâs mourning period after âProsecutor Miles Edgeworth chooses deathâ but what about Larry? He was childhood friends with Miles too who lost touch and just got him back only to lose him again! Miles, who in school, despite them having their differences, never told anyone about how he suspected Larry of actually stealing his money. That might not sound like a big thing but Larry even notes that if Phoenix hadnât been the one being accused, he wouldâve been. Chances are Larry was accused of stuff all the time as a kid. Considering that, Miles was probably the first person in a long time who didnât want to get him in trouble. Continuing with this, Phoenix would be the only person Larry knows how knew Miles like he did and would truly know what heâs going through since they both lost that same childhood friend after just getting him back. Phoenix, the only person whoâd understand, who spends that entire time refusing to speak about it, to the point he tells Maya to not even say his name. Literally all I want is either a few scenes of Larry trying to talk to Phoenix about it, only for Phoenix to shut him down instantly and then later Larry either also getting mad at Miles on Phoenixâs behalf or trying to calm Phoenix down about his return, and then also getting to see Miles again after heâs back from the dead and them having their reunion. Or, if there truly wasnât time for any added scenes, just have it be mentioned in passing when Maya tries to talk about it and Phoenix just tells her âIâve already told Larry and the others to not even say his nameâ. Just something small like that to show that Larry is also mourning the loss of his childhood friend adds just another layer to his character that I think he deserves and makes the whole thing more interesting in my opinion.
Finally, actually address his issues and insecurities instead of just making it a jokeđ I feel like they tried to do this somewhat in the third game but honestly it just fell really flat for me. This isnât me saying that Larry suddenly has to be this really tragic character because I definitely donât want that. In a series filled with dead loved ones, murder and trauma, I really like that Larry can offer a form of comic relief. But if theyâre going to repeatedly acknowledge the fact that heâs super insecure in the third game, at least go into why rather than just saying itđ¤Ś. Since first school Larry has been blamed for things to the point that his school had a fucking saying for it. Itâs no wonder he feels inadequate in comparison to the other characters and it wouldnât surprise me if him persuing these relationships with women is a way for him to achieve a form of validation that he was deprived of as a kid. Now obviously the game doesnât have to go that deep into it and can leave things open to interpretation but I think Larry would have benefited from having a moment of seriousness during one of the cases after he messed up, genuinely asking Phoenix âhow can I help? I know I keep messing things up. I have all my life and I want to make it right.â Just a moment of genuine friendship and reassurance between the two of them so it doesnât seem like Phoenix hates Larryâs very being (seriously theyâre supposed to be childhood best friends and theyâve stayed friends all this time but the third game has me asking why thatâs the case)
Those are just my thoughts tho and Iâm down to hear otherâs opinions!
#I adore ace attorney I promiseđ

hi guys, may i introduce you to the concept of ailette/hestio
If hesphael is ephael giving in to hestio with some jibes that have little to no heat behind them, then ailette/hestio is ailette returning hestio's energy even more and hestio not being able to take it. Ephael teases hestio with a âşď¸ or đ face while ailette is like >:)) and she does not pull punches. she would embarrass him happily and watch him combust. They compete on a bunch of inconsequential things and hestio loses 80% of the time because ailette is just too cool like that.
#hestio ligenel#mimin voice i think everyone in this series should kiss hestio actually#i made that one post recently from twt abt how you end up making everyone in the franchise in love w ur fave#and i was like. me w tesilid#wrong actually its me w hestio. everyone should plant a big fat kiss on hestio's cheek it would delight me greatly#me yelling into the void in irinbi's vague direction:#hello could you please give hestio a love interest???? please???? for me???#like please PLEASE hestio has so much potential HE COULD BE SO FUNNY....#i am NOT immune to his irresistible tsundere charms#the fun thing abt shipping hestio w like literally every character is that he's slightly different w each of them but hes still very funny#i just want to see him imploding on himself a little. okay#like this scene is so funny to me. hes so cute#and he says the gnarliest things sometimes too like when he called ailette a cabbage bc her layers have layers#why are you calling a girl a cabbage.... he has no tact i want to pinch his cheek#i need someone to bully him a little#teshes flavour of teasing hestio would be done w a straight face and tesilid would let hestio off the hook very easily#hesphael flavour is ephael making good natured jabs abt things he knows hestio wont rly get super riled up abt#and then ailette just goes straight for his throat#actually while we're here lets think abt other hestio ships too. clears throat. please consider prinzhestio#it would be very cute bc prinz is very considerate and accomodating#he has the same vibes as pre regression tesilid except he doesnt give hestio blood pressure issues bc he can take care of himself#prinz isnt a doormat. he would probably be like. a hestio restrainer. stops hestio from losing his head at things and calms him down#hestio almost loses his temper and he takes a deep breath turns to prinz stares at him for a couple of seconds and then#turns back completely calm and serene again#AND ALSO prinz is a knight he can protect hestio#like listen its just in prinz's blood to be knightly and protect ppl arnd him okay that fits well w hestio's need to be protected#literally its so funny how hestio is like super vulnerable but hasnt awakened his aura. he just relies on ephael#what a princess. i love him.#(ephael voice) yeah okay ill protect you or youll prob die...#(tesilid voice) my obligations.... (prinz voice) OH NO ARE YOU OKAG

I am so utterly fascinated by âSakiâ, the 18-year-running mahjong manga in which you, the reader, become gradually, frog-boilingly aware (over the course of nearly two decadesâ worth of mahjong tournaments) that none of these girls are wearing underwear and most of their boobs are slowly expanding.
I need you to understand that I have, like, an anthropological level fascination with this comic. From the perspective of someone who is also a comic artist and writer, two things delight me about it:
the fact that I understand completely how an artist gets from âthe fans can have a little hint of skirted asscheekâ to âthe pussy is completely out on center pageâ over the course of 18 years; and
the way in which the pussy being out is treated by the characters and diegesis as being utterly unremarkable.
Okay. Point 1. The frog-boiling.
Let me put this in perspective for you. There was already a meme about how the characters in âSakiâ donât wear underwear when I was in middle school. I am thirty now. Okay? And itâs still going.
In the time since, this has stopped being a joke. It is now indisputable canon. This is not because anyone outright says it at any point. Itâs because the underwear ran out of places to hide. Iâm obsessed with this thought: somewhere in the over 20 volumes of âSakiâ, there is a panel in which underwear was objectively deconfirmed. And it would be so hard to figure out where that panel actually is. Maybe the artist didnât even realize it when she drew it! The frog? Boiling!!
And of course there is also the breast expansion. I donât know how to put a spin on this. They are just expanding. Like, this happens a lot with artists: you define a character as being, in your mind, âthe one with the big boobsâ, and over the years you emphasize that trait further and further so that the signal doesnât get lost in the noise. Itâs just that normallyâin like a wildly popular manga series about mahjong published by literally Square Enix, for exampleânormally there would be a point at which the boobs stopped getting bigger. Like, an editor would step in or something. Or you would get to the point where you cannot draw the character in the same panel as her mahjong tiles without her breasts spilling over the tiles, and youâd go, âWell, this is now untenable.â
That did not happen. There is no ceiling. The frog is soup.
Point 2. The complete and utter mundanity of all of this.
Itâs like this, okay: thereâs no shortage of trashy ecchi manga out there. Thereâs a million other comics doing wildly bawdier things with wildly more improbable bishoujos.
The vibe with âSakiâ is different.
Itâs hard to explain this, but it feels like the world of the comic is fundamentally uninterested in the fanservice happening on the page. I cannot describe it as âleeringâ, because I cannot conceive of a person in the story from whose point of view one would leer. I think the artist is probably into itâI canât imagine anyone is making her do thisâbut âSakiâ the comic has no opinion on the matter.
There are essentially no male characters in âSakiâ. Like, there was one guy? Kind of? At the very beginning? But he is gone now. They put him back in the toybox. He does not exist. It appears to be some level of canonical that in the world of âSakiâ, almost all humans are women. Those women are sometimes romantically into each other. According to comments the artist has made on Twitter (which I cannot source), they have lesbian baby technology, so itâs no problem. Itâs so much not a problem that the story is about mahjong, instead of any of that.
So, like, the fiction here appears to be this: this is the, like, meta-narrative of the fanservice of âSakiâ, right: itâs just normal that they donât wear underwear and their boobs are arbitrarily big. Itâs been normal. It was normal before the story of the manga began. Itâs just how things are. Nobody bats an eye about it, and if they do, itâs in sort of a lesbian kind of way so like whatâs the problem, we love lesbians here. This is literally normal for girls.
The fanservice simply diffuses into this all-encompassing aura of disembodied, ambient sluttiness. The framing of the panels demands you acknowledge it, and the story demands you already be over it, because itâs mahjong time now, and weâre playing mahjong.
Do you get??? why Iâm so fascinated??? Are you not a little enraptured???
Anyway, I have no idea how to end this weird post. I guess the conclusion is that women stay winning????

Sunbathing
Pairing: Joel Miller x f!reader
Summary: youâve decided to sunbathe topless, or as your husband Joel would put it, youâve decided to torture him.
Warnings: needy Joel, kind of sub!joel, unprotected p in v, premature ejaculation, creampie, oral sex (f receiving), come play.
a/n: i sunbathed topless for the first time and well this wrote itself
"You've seen my boobs before babe" A soft laugh bubbled up your throat as you turned your head left.
He wasn't even pretending not to be staring.
"Not like this"
You smiled, "what does that even mean?"
"not out... here"
You lowered your sunglasses to see him better, tilting your head to ask for further explanation
Yes you were outside, by the pool of the beautiful summer house you'd rented, but you didn't get how that made any difference, they were the same boobs he'd seen hours prior in your bed.
"I'm not used to not doing anything about them"
"ah" you hummed "is it that hard?"
You didn't even need to look at the smirk painting his face to regret your choice of words.
"yeah babydoll, it's real hard"
You only needed to lower your gaze a little to asses his statement.
"You're incorrigible"
"And you're torturin' me darlin'"
"How am I torturing you?" you laughed "I'm just taking advantage of the privacy we have to get a good tan"Â Â
"and besides, I seem to remember how hard it is for you to see me with the whole bikini on too"
He sat up, the sunbed squeaking as he faced you.
"It ain't my fault if my wife's so pretty it hurts"
"you get so dramatic when you're horny" you chuckled, rolling your eyes.
He smiled, letting his gaze wander all over your body for a good minute, before getting back at your face
"nothin's gonna happen is it?" his tone was full of hope nonetheless
"no baby" you shook your head
He sighed, dramatically letting his head fall to his chest
"I'll have a swim then"
"have fun honey"
__ __ __
"darlin'?"
Not even ten minutes had passed, and that scene from the Barbie movie with the "Ken! Go for a walk or something" line couldn't not pop into your head.
"yes?"
He was standing right next to your sunbed, dripping wet and blocking out the sun.
"don't ya need sunscreen?"
A soft smile pulled at your lips.
Ten minutes, that's how long it took for him to come up with that.
"I put it on already"
He wasn't gonna give up, not on the first try.
"how long ago?"
"an hour, I think"
"the sun's real strong now doll," he said, drying his hair with a towel before throwing it on his bed "I think it's best if you put some more on⌠I can do it for you if you don't feel like it"
You chuckled, looking up at him, but he stayed in character, continuing to look oh-so worried about your safety.
"Somehow I knew that offer was coming"
"'m just worried about my wife, 's all"
he'd crouched down, taking your hand in his
"mh-mh" you hummed, sarcasm tracing your tone
"can't have you get sunburt now, can we?"
"no, we can't" you played along, smiling at him
"'f course" he murmured, leaning down to leave a soft kiss on your lips as he grabbed the sunscreen.
"I'm so lucky to have such a caring husband"
"I'm the only lucky one babydoll"
He gave you one more kiss, before he leaned away and got to work.
He squeezed some cream into his hand, but to your surprise, his hands didn't land where you'd expected them to-
Only his eyes were betraying him. They were only on one, or actually two things even when it was your legs he was massaging.
The coldness of the cream and his hands felt good against your warm body, so much you couldn't help but hum appreciatively.
"feels good?"
"yeah baby" you breathed as his hands made their way to your thighs.
It always amazed you how hands so big, rough, and strong were able to be so gentle and soft on you.
You couldn't deny the shivers running up your body when his fingers reached your inner thighs, getting close to your core.
"what's that?" your husband was smirking like a cat, as he dedicated himself much too long on that spot.
"I didn't say anything"
If he thought this was gonna work, he was wrong. It was too hot, and you were too relaxed to do what he so obviously wanted to do... although you both knew how much you liked seeing him desperate...
He still didn't touch your boobs, no, next were your shoulders, then your arms, and then... when he felt on the brink of exploding, when he couldn't stop himself anymore, he squeezed a generous amount of sunscreen in his hands, and oh so gently started massaging your tits.
He couldn't stop a soft groan from fleeing his lips.
It felt amazing- of course it felt amazing, but you didn't wanna give him the satisfaction, and this was mostly for him, not for you, so your eyes remained closed as you pretended like it was nothing.
But that only lasted so long, because Joel could endure just about 30 seconds of that before he was bending down, and his mouth was sucking your nipple.
"Joel!" you gasped, your eyes snapping open just in time to see him climb onto you to straddle your waist, and then go right back to groping and licking and sucking your nipples like it was his life long duty.
"baby you're all wet" you tried complaining, but the smile on your lips was everlasting.
He looked so damingly cute like this, looking up at you with those big doe eyes as he worshipped your tits.
"so are you"
And yeah so what if you were- there's only so much a woman can do in front of this.
A soft laugh spilled from your lips as your hand went to find a place in his hair, your back arching to offer more of yourself to him.
"I don't even know how good it is for you to be licking sunscreen"
The look he gave you made it very clear he didn't give one single fuck.
And just when you were about to protest again, his teeth had gently bit your nipple, and a moan had spilled from your lips.
he took that as an incentive to go further, his hand slowly sliding down your belly, between your bodies, until it was seeping underneath your bikini bottoms.
"babe-" you stopped him, your voice breathless
His hand stopped on your mound as he groaned in frustration.
You could feel his rock-hard cock on you since the moment he straddled you- the man was desperate.
"please doll" he murmured against the soft skin of your chest in between kisses "Gimmie something-anythingâ he pleaded âHave mercy on your poor husband"
Your response was mixed between a laugh and a moan
"I can take care of you if you want"
He shook his head, his teeth grazing your nipple "Need to feel you darlinâ"
Again, a soft giggle rumbled from your chest
"âS too hot to have sex here baby"
His hand had gotten out of your bikini to reach the other on your waist.
"the pool- the ground? fuck- anywhere you want sugar, just tell me where"
His clothed hard-on was rubbing against your core now, and fuck but once again youâd succumbed to Joel and his goddamn irresistible neediness.
"bring me back into the house"
It was like heâd been waiting his whole life to hear those words.
In a haze of kisses and lust, heâd picked you up, letting you hold onto him by wrapping your arms and legs around his body as he hurriedly walked into the house.
He didnât make it far enough to encounter a single surface- and perhaps that was because heâd stopped looking and placed you against the wall the moment heâd passed the threshold.
His mouth was on your tits again, his cock was out, and his fingers had pulled your bikini to the side.
He said nothing as he slowly began entering you, the only sounds in the room being your moan as you threw your head back, and the groan he emitted, muffled by your skin.
âOh fuckâ you cried once he bottomed out.
Your husband was a very gifted man.
"'m not gonna last"
He sounded like the mere act of talking was taking all of his energy, and yet he was thrusting up into you like it was a matter of life or death.
"'s ok"
"I've been hard since you took your top off" he murmured, his breath fanning over your chest âyou-you-jesusâ
Your left hand passed through his hair, softly soothing him.
ââS alright baby, donât wait for meâ
âYouâre too fuckinâ-â he tried to speak, but he was interrupted by yet another groan
âWhat?â you taunted him, a smirk pulling at your lips âwhat is it baby?â
His eyes were wide with desperation as he looked up at you, as his mouth stole languid kisses from your tits.
âToo hot- too goddamn perfectâ
You bit down a grin at that, still stroking his hair
âI love you babyâ you breathed, his cock reaching the deepest, most fucking amazing spot inside you in the meantime.
The moment those words left your lips your husband was fucked- the only words he was able to mutter were a series of -fuckshitgoddamn- before he inevitably reached his peak, filling you up with rope after rope of come that never seemed to end.
He remained like that for a little while, buried inside you, eyes closed, mouth still connected with your boob, until you left a gentle kiss on the crown of his head, and he woke up from his heavenly trance.
He let out a soft groan as he slipped out of you, and took his time letting you down.
You were smiling at him with that soft smile that melted his insides right up, and he couldnât help but lean in and kiss it, kiss you like you were a soft delicate thing that he was scared of breaking.
âI love you moreâ he promised, kissing you again, even if you were smiling.
âFeel better now?â
You said it like he was a kid with a stomach bug, and he couldnât help but laugh a little.
âYeah darlinââ he murmured against your mouth âthank youâ
âYou donât have to thank meâ you laughed, but he was already shaking his head
âYes I doâ
And without further explanation, heâd dropped to his knees.
He slid your bikini to the side once again, looking up at you with only adoration in his eyes.
âBaby you donât have to you tried to reason with him, but his mouth was already latched to your clit, and your hand had already flown to his hair.
He remained on your bud long enough to make you desperate, and then he started focusing on your whole core, his tongue lapping between your folds with what could only be described as feral hunger.
His come was everywhere, and yet he didnât care, he was happy tasting the mix of your fluids, because thatâs how Joel was- a nasty nasty man- only for you.
So much so that you felt his tongue enter your hole, simulating what he was doing just minutes before with his cock.
âFuck-babe-â
Your moans were breathless, more like whines, like prayers.
You were looking at him as he was looking at you and Jesus... He looked fucking heavenly.
His hair all tussled from your fingers, his blown-out pupils, his never-stopping tongue-
âJoelâ you cried, but he didnât dare speak a word as he went back to your clit.
âShit-baby- god!â
You had to tighten your hold on his hair as your orgasm crept up your body- and it was as you heard him groan with pleasure, as he sucked your clit into his mouth like a man starved, that it all came crumbling down, and you felt your body light on fire as your climax took over.
You were moaning and crying into the air for a good minute before you were sane again.
Only Joel hadnât stopped eating you out for a single second, and even then, he looked like he had no intention of doing so
âBaby-babyâ you whimpered, having to literally pull him away from your core.
He was smiling like a kid, and you couldnât help but follow suit.
He put your bikini back in place, and then stood up, his hands lingering on your waist
âYouâre crazyâ
He couldnât help but kiss you before answering,
âYou make meâ

Stares at the sekai writers with my big wet brown eyes. Pls don't forget abt how Kanade hid the fact that she met with Mafuyu's mom from them and that Mafuyu knows abt that now
#rat rambles#sekai posting#I dont need them to get mad I just think itd be neat if we got to see how they feel abt that#it probably wont happen and tbh I dont mind that too much even if for kanade's sake itd be rly interesting to see#I mostly dont mind because I think it makes sense with their character for Mafuyu to not think abt it or actively try not to#plus with their current desperation I dont think theyre looking to blame one of their biggest sources of comfort#which is not to say kanade is to blame for how bad things have gotten with their mom just that its honestly like. rly scary how out of the#loop mafuyu was on How bad it was#and it makes sense that kanade wouldnt tell mafuyu abt all of this as it would likely have made mafuyu panic even more#but still its interesting to me to think abt how mafuyu just straight up knew nothing abt how much their mom and their friends knew#and how despite kanade's best efforts to prevent the worst it ultimately did very little to soften the inevitable pain#and in some ways she kind of like. actively endangered mafuyu or at least risked it#like to be clear shes a teenager theyre all teenagers ofc they didn't handle everything perfectly this isnt a condemnation of kanade#I just find it interesting how kanade's relationship with mafuyu has shifted kind of for the worse in some regards#and how now we are in the perfect set up for them to develope for the better#mainly I just want kanade to have some more big boy development without taking from the current group arc#+ I think this could make for some interesting insight on how mafuyu thinks abt the group in different contexts#I think kanade did the best she could and it didnt help and I want her to feel that way and be eaten by it a bit#because then we can do some fun mafuyu and kanade dad parallels and use it to showcase kanade's growth or give her growth#because look at me deep in my eyes. kanade has been falling into the same feeling of total responsibility much more actively#and now its becoming so much more real. so much more tangible. mafuyu isnt a person who needs her help. mafuyu is a person who needs help.#serious help#idk if any of this makes sense idk I guess I just want kanade to feel powerless and for mafuyu to grapple with their feelings on the others#a bit even if it doesnt escilate beyond just thoughts#anyways Im pretty sure ena is due next so I hope its her like helping Mafuyu buy new clothes or smth#I wanna have some fun mesh between light hearted shopping story and deeply deeply depressing runaway child shit#thats assuming theyll go that route with mafuyu but theyve been being vague enough abt it Im willing to entertain the idea that theyll do it#also I think itd be nice if we got to see more kaito but that might be asking for a big much#but yeah I think if no kaito than mizuki should be a 4 star or 3 star since no way in hell they wouldnt tag along for smth like that#and kanade can be the 2 star for here since quite frankly I kinda wanna let her stew in it all a bit more before we rly dive in deep

Family Expansion
Pairing: Carlos Sainz x reader
Warnings: none
Bea series continues
After Bea was born, you and Carlos both knew you didn't want to stop at just one child. You wanted to have at least three, although you didn't know that one little girl like Bea would be such a handful.
Bea is a little girl with character, very attached to both of you and especially to Carlos. Since Bea was already three years old, you didn't want there to be a big age difference between her and the second child, so you decided to start trying for another baby.
About three weeks ago when Carlos came back from the race in Singapore you welcomed him in your home with a pregnancy test in your hands and his eyes started to water with how happy he was. Since that night he couldnât keep his hands off you and your stomach. He loved being a dad and he was the best at it. Bea was his whole world (and you of course), and the fact that he will have another little being with you sent him over the moon.
Anyway, tonight is the night you decided to break the news to Bea, explain to her in the simplest possible way that she is going to be a big sister. You were very nervous about it because you didn't know how she would react, and Carlos found it funny that you were afraid to tell a three-year-old that you were pregnant.
âDonât laugh, Carlos! Itâs not funny at all.â You sigh crossing your arms and looking away from him.
âMi amor, youâre overreacting. I don't know why you keep thinking that another baby in the family will upset her.â He says placing a hand over your stomach and gently rubbing it.
âWell, that is exactly why! She will no longer be an only child and you know what our daughter is like. Very possessive, especially about you, and she likes all the attention to be focused only on her.â
âBaby, we have to tell her sooner or later. We might as well tell her sooner so we can start talking to her about it more often and start getting her used to the change.â
You sigh running your hands over your face then through your hair.
âHey, look at meâ Carlos says taking your chin between his fingers making you look at him. âEverythingâs going to be okay. Donât overthink this so much, sheâs just a kid. Even if she doesnât understand some things now thatâs okay because sheâs not supposed to. Weâre in this together, always.â
âYouâre rightâ You say leaning your head against his chest and he places a kiss on top of your head. âIâm sorry Iâm making such a big deal out of this.â
âItâs okay, baby. Iâm gonna go get her from her room.â He says getting up and leaving you on the couch in the living room.
While you were waiting for Carlos to come back with Bea, you thought that maybe you were exaggerating a bit, that you were making a bigger deal out of it than it actually was. Maybe Bea will be overjoyed to have a best friend for life. Maybe she will enjoy sharing everything with the new baby.
But then again, you knew your daughter very well to know that Bea doesnât share things.
âMama!â She exclaimed happily reaching out to you from Carlos' arms.
âHey, babyâ You smiled taking her in your arms. She sat in your lap wrapping her tiny arms around you and leaning her head on your chest. âDid you play with the new kitchen that daddy got you?â
âI didâ
âWhat did you cook today, hm? What did chef Bea make for dinner?â You asked her.
âI..I made a soup. And a chicken. And potato.â She explained, counting on her fingers.
âGood job, baby.â You smiled kissing the tip of her nose.
âOkay, princesa, mommy and daddy have something to tell you, okay?â Carlos started and your heart rate increased. He took her from your lap and seated her between the two of you on the couch.
âOkayâ
âRemember how we used to talk about having a baby brother or a baby sister for you?â Carlos asked her moving her curly hair out of her face.
âNoâ She simply said.
You and Carlos quickly both looked at each other and clamped your mouths shut to keep from bursting out laughing right at the start.
âAy, nena no digas que no.â (Baby, donât say no) He says pinching her nose. âWell, mommy has a baby in her belly. Youâre going to be a big sister.â
He put his hand over your stomach and you put yours over his. Beaâs eyes just followed your movements without saying a word. Her expression was unreadable, but you could tell she wasn't thrilled with the news .
âHow does that sound, mi amor?â Carlos asked her trying to snap her out of her thoughts.
And just like that hr lower lip started to twitch and she started to cry. She opened her mouth and cried inconsolably. You looked at Carlos and mouthed âI told you soâ and threw your head back sighing.
He quickly took her in his arms and started rubbing her back as she hid her face in the crook of his neck.
âBea, donât cry, bebeâ He tried. âYouâre going to have so much fun with the baby brother or baby sister. Youâre always going to have someone to play with, maybe share a room together. Isnât that so much fun?â
âI-I donât-â She sobbed. âDonât need itâ
âIt's not a matter of whether you need it or not. Mommy and Daddy want you and another baby. You will still be our little girl, forever, only we will have one more baby.â He was choosing his words carefully making sure to include her in every sentence that left his mouth.
Once she calmed down a bit and stopped crying she said âBut-but I wanted an ice cream, not a baby brother or a baby sisterâ
Both you and Carlos laughed squeezing your eyes shut at her nonchalant statement.
âHow about you get an ice cream and a baby brother or a baby sister?â Carlos asked her.
She took some time to think and soon agreed to the proposal. âOkay..â
âEntonces tenemos un trato, si?â (Then we have a deal, yes?) He hugged her tightly kissing her cheek and she nodded her head yes. âGo get your shoes because Iâm taking my girls out for an ice cream right now.â
âCan we get a puppy too?â Bea asked.
âWell..â Carlos laughed looking at you.
âCarlos!â You warned him with your eyes knowing that he has trouble saying no to his favorite girl.
âWeâll see about that, letâs get some ice cream firstâ

Took a bit of time to myself to finally sketch out my vision for Frida based off Andy Surianoâs Farewell. More design thoughts under the cut.
I know some were wary of her appearing too feminine, but honestly I enjoyed the challenge of finding a way to feminize the base turtle model and stay true to Andyâs wonderful design. I donât want her to just look like her brothers in a show that embraces their differences.
The biggest thing I added to her design was an exposed heart. My own little twist inspired by a real life issue some turtles deal with as well as a fitting ode to the artist she is named after, Frida Kahlo, who often drew herself with her heart floating outside of her body. (And yes I made the creative decision to keep her heart at her center as with many turtles.)
This deformity occurred during her mutation where the sudden growth spurt tore open a hole at the seam of her plastron. She has survived as long as she has because of Big Mama who uses mystic wards to keep her heart physically safe and emotionally numb. If you look closely to her plastron in the show itâs not actually a natural body part but rather seems to be an attachment of her trench coat. Likely a false cover to hide her obvious weak spot (or at least that is my head canon!)
I love the idea of her and Donnie having something they can relate to and Iâm sure heâll be happy to design chest armor for her down the line once sheâs free of Big Mama. Maybe someday Iâll figure out her full Mad Dogs outfit, but for now this is just her base and bandana.
As each of the boys embodies a shape, I found it all too fitting to have Fridaâs be a heart. Itâs honestly a cool shape that uses both rounded forms and sharp points, which I think would encapsulate her character well. Prickly on the surface but a softy deep down. I tried to find less typical ways of feminizing her. Sharpening her beak and digits while retaining the style of feminine eyes present in most of the female cast but matching it more closely to the unsettling shape of the eyes on her assistantâs mask.
Her markings are a color flip of Mikeyâs, where as his are yellow spots with orange outlines hers are orange with yellow outlines. Coupled with her yellow eyes to match Donnie and Raph, it gives her this fiery vibe that I think still sets her far apart from Mikey.
The mask was honestly the hardest part. I love that it further accentuates her heart motif and made her more expressive, but just giving her the obvious bow and calling it a day did not sit well with me. I decided to try more of a high ponytail look, but I think it still needs some work. Iâm pretty sure I like her with yellow though, both as a nod to Jennika and the idea of April giving her something of her own to help form the bond between the two.
Would love to flesh her out further but back to my usual stuff first.

pairing: live action!roronoa zoro x fem!reader
word count: 4.2k
description: you have a hard time picking a dress for dinner whilst in kaya's mansion. zoro (sort of) helps!
tags: strawhat!reader, female reader, fluff, kissing, confessions, no use of "y/n", special straw hat appearances (nami & luffy), soft zoro
author's note: i'm a sucker for dress-up scenes so i KNEW i was gonna write smth like this once that ep3 scene started playing. reader chooses a dress at the end; dress is non-described so you can imagine your ideal dress!
You were on Nami and Zoroâs side when it came to whatever was going on in Syrup Village. Kayaâs mansion made you feel vaguely unsettled, and stepping into the building made your heart pound quicker than you would like to admit. But if there was one thing that piqued your interest, it was the order of changing clothes for dinner. Youâd been stuck in the same few outfits for weeks now, and the promise of something newâand formalâwas nearly exciting, although youâd never admit it in front of Nami and her disapproving gaze.Â
Kayaâs kindness combined with the private guest room and bath you were treated to helped soothe your nerves. Soon you found yourself being led to the giant closet the rest of the Straw Hats were already inâNami was trying on various different pieces, and Zoro seemed to have something in hand too.Â
âAh, there you are!â Luffy said, swiveling on his heel and giving you a big grin as you entered the room. You stared in disbelief at all of the racks around you. Hell, there were even clothes hanging from the ceiling.Â
âWell, we certainly have a lot of options,â you said, skimming a hand over a nearby rack. There were a variety of different fabrics, but they all felt expensive: silk and velvet, damasks and brocades. âI donât even know where to start.âÂ
âIâm just trying on anything,â Nami called from where she was, before stepping out from the room divider sheâd been changing behind. She wore an emerald dress with a plunging neckline, the patterned silk clinging to her curves, and did a little spin. âWhat do you think?âÂ
Luffy shrugged. Zoro wrinkled his nose, barely glancing up from the armchair he was lounging on. âI think it looks nice,â you offered, but Nami still seemed dissuaded.Â
âUgh, these two are impossible. What are you going to wear?âÂ
âUh, Iâm getting there,â you said with a little laugh. âItâs a bit overwhelming; Iâd rather help you guys pick first. Luffy, have you found something yet?â You turned towards the man in the center of the room, who nodded enthusiastically.Â
âYeah, I found this!â He raised up a black waistcoat. You frowned at it.Â
âUm, Luffy, waistcoats are supposed to be worn with a suit,â you said, then paused, seeing his blank look. â...Never mind.âÂ
âAnd Iâm wearing black,â Zoro added, despite the piece of clothing slung along his lap definitely not being black. You exchanged a glance with Nami, who just rolled her eyes. Theyâre stupid, she mouthed, then returned to the rack she was glancing through. She worked quickly, pulling out various numbers that she scrutinized before either setting on the couch beside her or putting back.Â
âOkay,â you said slowly. âNeed me to find you some pants with that, Cap?â Nami and Zoro let out identical groans as you spoke the pet name, both turning to give you exasperated looks. You suppressed your laugh.Â
âStop calling him that,â Zoro said with a tired sigh. âYouâre encouraging him.âÂ
âKind of the point, yeah,â you said cheerfully. While Zoro and Nami were both still largely unconvinced about the whole pirate crew thing, youâd joined the bandwagon rather quickly. Zoro rolled his eyes, and you turned towards the racks to find Luffy some slacks. âAssumedly you need something other than that shirt too?âÂ
âIâll look later,â Zoro said passively. You watched him out of your peripheral vision. He was outfitted in a patterned kimono, his three swords slung along his lap. He didnât seem too interested in his surroundings, though what he was doing, you werenât sure. You let him be, turning to page through the racks of clothes again. Finally you found a pair of slacks that seemed like theyâd fit Luffy.Â
âHere,â you said, passing them over to him. âAnd find some shoes while youâre at it.âÂ
âWhy does she even have clothes that donât fit her?â Zoro murmured, sounding as baffled as he could get. âWhat, she just casually has clothes in all four of our sizes hanging around?âÂ
âRich people own things just to own them,â Nami called. Sheâd changed again; this dress had a halter neckline and was blush pink. Zoro motioned with a hand at it, and Nami frowned, glancing down at the dress. âYou donât like it?âÂ
âEh,â Zoro said. Nami made a face.Â
âAt this point I think youâre hating just to hate.â She pulled up a few more options, narrowing her eyes as she surveyed them. Luffy was seemingly satisfied with what youâd given him, because he took the pieces off of their hangers and slung them over his shoulder.Â
âIâm off,â he announced. âGonna go change in my room and do some exploring before dinner. Have fun!â With that, he left, and Nami sighed, turning towards you. She held up her final two optionsâa red cheongsam with delicate gold embroidery and a pastel blue dress with an a-line skirt. You gnawed on your bottom lip as you studied the two.
âI think the blue one might wash you out a bit,â you said eventually; itâd clash with her hair no doubt, and make her skin look even paler. The shade wasnât a right match with her eyes, either. âI like the cheongsam; I think you should go with that one. It contrasts nicely with your hair.âÂ
Nami raised up the dress again, inspecting it. âYouâre right,â she said, ducking back behind the room divider to change. You started pursuing the racks again; Nami stepped out a few moments later, successfully outfitted in her new dress. âOkay, Iâm going to go do my hair in my guest room. Good luck.âÂ
âBye,â you called, watching as she left the room. You clicked your tongue, almost alone now and with absolutely zero options of clothing. As much as you liked the idea of new clothes, the abundance of options was starting to seem a little daunting. âOkay, now that Namiâs done, itâs my turn to play dress-up.âÂ
Zoro laughed from where he sat, and you startled, almost having forgotten he was there. He was watching you attentively, his attention having diverted from whatever it was heâd been thinking about earlier. âYou like this kind of thing?âÂ
âWell, I mean.â You shrugged, peering at a few of the pieces on the rack in front of you. You pulled out a deep green dress, eyeing the lace by the neckline before setting it back. âItâs kind of fun, isnât it?âÂ
âNot really what Iâm into.âÂ
âYou wear jewelry, so clearly you have some fashionable instinct,â you pointed out, bending over to glance at the clothes hiding by your knees. These were all skirts or unreasonably short dresses, with so little fabric you were uncertain they would cover anything at all. âUnless the earrings are for another reasonâŚ?â
âThree swords, three earrings.âÂ
âMakes sense. What are you wearing with your shirt?â You glanced back to see Zoroâs answer, but he merely shrugged. âDo you want me to find you some trousers? A suit?âÂ
âYou donât need to find clothes for me. I can do that myself.â Still, Zoro made absolutely no move to do so. You rolled your eyes, but turned your attention back on what youâd be wearing for the dinner. Vaguely you wondered how Zoro would look wearing a suit. You flushed almost as soon as the thought popped into your head, shoving it into the very back of your skull and banishing it from seeing the light of day.Â
âIf you say so,â you said instead, mostly to distract yourself from the beyond inappropriate thoughts starting to run through your head. Honestly, you barely knew your crew matesâthe four of you were close to tearing each otherâs throats out before you ran into Buggy, after all. And the fact that Zoro was, well, conventionally attractiveâand you tried to keep your thoughts on that and that alone, anything emotional was strictly out of the questionâshouldnât be something your mind lingered on.Â
You picked out the first dress that looked to be your size. It was dark purple, backless with a tight trumpet skirt. Ducking behind the room divider Nami had used, you stripped off your clothes, donning the dress. There was a mirror along the other side of the divider, and you turned, trying to appraise the dress on your figure. The color didnât look entirely right, and you were uneasy about the lack of mobility the skirt might haveâKayaâs staff were still extremely suspicious, after all, and youâd rather be safe than sorry.Â
âLet me see,â Zoro called from outside. You tugged at the dress, suddenly nervous, but stepped out after you couldnât find a good enough excuse not to. Zoroâs eyes ran up and down your figure, and you did a slow circle, showing off the dress. The bare skin of your back prickled.Â
âYouâre not going to be able to move in it,â he eventually said.Â
You huffed out a breath, the nervous energy that had accumulated in your chest leaving with the action. Something in your belly stirred; disappointment, maybe, that Zoro had only commented on the practicality of the dress, not how you looked in it. But you pushed those thoughts away with an angry shove. Not the time, and definitely not the person to be thinking those sorts of things about. âYeah, thatâs what I was worried about. Let me find something else.âÂ
Zoroâs gaze didnât flicker from your body as you started across the room, ducking between more racks to find something. âYou dead-set on a dress?âÂ
âI havenât worn a dress in a while,â you answered, picking out a red one before remembering Namiâs choice and setting it back. âMight as well take the opportunity.â The next one you pulled was blue, all shiny and soft. The material looked like some kind of tender silk. You set it aside to try on. âWhy?âÂ
âHavenât seen either you or Nami in a dress before.âÂ
âActually, you have. Iâm wearing one right now and Nami tried like five on earlier,â you said, glancing over your shoulder to shoot Zoro an unimpressed look. He scoffed, though there was a smile at the edges of his mouth as he turned his head away. Your next choice was soft pink, and made of tulle that vaguely resembled a puff pastry. You pulled it up. âThink I should try it?âÂ
âI mean, pick whatever,â Zoro said, though he seemed mildly disgusted by the amount of fabric the skirt had, all bunched up with layers like something a ballerina might wear. âWhat are you trying to achieve with the dress?âÂ
âWhat am IâIâm trying to look nice, Zoro,â you said, stifling your laughter. You set the pink dress back, replacing it with a sage green number instead. âNot everything has ulterior motives.âÂ
âYou always look nice.âÂ
You froze, a soft chill curling around the back of your neck. Carefully, you straightened up from whereâd you been bent over yet another rack of clothes, turning to look Zoro in the eye. His eyes hadnât moved. âOh,â you managed out, throat all dry and tongue like sandpaper in your mouth. âWell, thank you.âÂ
Zoro cleared his throat, a dull noise he made in the hollow of his throat without even parting his lips. His gaze flickered away. âYeah. Go try those on.âÂ
Wordlessly, you stepped back behind the room divider and slipped on the blue dress. It had a texture like waterâit was some kind of high-end silk, flexible enough that it was near liquid in movement. The dress itself fell to your ankles, and had a simple square neckline. You stepped outside, doing another slow twirl. âBetter,â Zoro said.Â
âBetter how?âÂ
âYou can probably run in it.âÂ
You twisted your lips, trying to suppress the urge to turn them down into a frown. âOkay. Itâs not doing it for me.â You ducked back behind the divider to change yet again; the sage green one was satin, with long sleeves and a neckline you hadnât anticipated would be that deep.Â
Still, upon exiting the divider and turning for Zoro again, he didnât have any worthwhile feedback. âItâs kind of plain,â he said eventually, not meeting your eyes.Â
You huffed, crossing your arms over your chest; you had to almost resist stomping over to the racks to find something more, and spent another few minutes gathering dresses and trying them on.Â
To your immense disappointment, each one garnered little to no reaction from Zoro. You even shoved on one of the tiny, too-little fabric dresses youâd disapproved of earlier, but all Zoro did was scan you from head to toe and say, rather flatly, âyouâd get stabbed pretty easily in that.âÂ
Frustration bled into your nerves as you hid behind the divider again. You glared at yourself in the mirrorâyour skin had started flushing with how annoyed you were getting, which mightâve been funny had you not been so ticked off. Men, you thought, irritated. Was it really so hard to tell you that you looked pretty?Â
Heâs a bounty hunter, you had to remind yourself. He doesnât care about this kind of thing. Besides, he was the last person you should be setting your sights on anyway. You tugged at the short dress, the hem just barely grazing the tops of your thighs.Â
You heard footsteps approaching from outside the divider, suddenly too close as you snapped yourself out of the reverie of thoughts youâd been lost in. Zoro turned the corner, arm propped up against the divider edge as he peered in, brows furrowed. âYou stopped coming out,â he said. He was still in his kimono, swords tossed over one shoulder. The shirt he had was, assumedly, left on the couch heâd finally stood up from.Â
âIâm frustrated,â you told him blandly. His frown deepened.Â
âBecause of⌠clothing?âÂ
You suppressed the sigh that threatened to escape your lungs. âNever mind. Iâm fresh out of ideas.â You pushed past Zoro, opting to stand in the center of the room as if analyzing it from a different view would magically give you more options. Zoro turned to stare, still looking perplexed. âWith so many options, itâs hard to make up my mind, thatâs all.âÂ
âUh huh.â Zoro was still studying you. âDid I do something?âÂ
âWhat? No,â you said hastily. Too hastily. The words had ripped out of your throat like a hiccup, and you seriously needed to learn how to lie a bit better because now Zoroâs expression was even more confused. âNo. Why would I be mad at you?âÂ
âI donât know. Thatâs why Iâm asking.âÂ
âItâs nothing,â you insisted, turning away from Zoro to stare at some of the clothes hanging on the wall above his head. These were too high up to properly look at, and as you stepped back, you glanced through the dresses hanging off the arch of the ceiling. You perused them without too much interest, eyes glancing over the various colors and fabrics untilâÂ
Zoro stepped next to you. âHey,â he said, and you jolted, head snapping down to look at him. You let out a noise of irritation, then turned your focus back on the ceiling.Â
Your gaze flickered through the racks until finally falling on one particular dress hanging by the mouth of the room. It was somewhat hidden, tucked in a little corner beside a few other pieces, but from your vantage point it seemed about your size.Â
You took a step closer to it, surveying it with your neck craned. The material looked soft and comfortable but it still retained shape, and the colorâeven in the dim lighting of the closetâwas one of your favorites. The undertone would suit your skin perfectly. And, well, you didnât want to put all your bets on one dress you hadnât even touched, but it was certainly promising.Â
Zoro stepped past you, barely exerting any effort to reach up and bring the dress down from where it hung up high. âThis one, right?â he asked, and you swallowed, some of the annoyances you had towards him dissolving as he extended the dress hanger towards you. You nodded wordlessly, taking it. You stood there for a second before Zoro gestured with his head towards the divider. âGo try it on.âÂ
You did so, retreating safely behind your wall and stepping out of the little dress. You surveyed the one Zoro had grabbed for you again, heart lodged in your throat. It really was beautiful, and exactly your style; now that you saw it up close, you could safely affirm it was your size too, but nervousness still pulsed through your veins at it.Â
Carefully, you slipped it on, adjusting the fabric around your hips and fixing up the neckline to rest evenly on your skin.
Zoro spoke out from the rest of the room. âSo why are you mad at me?âÂ
âIâm notââ you sighed, dropping your arms before returning to fiddle with the dress. âIâm not mad at you.âÂ
âIs it because I wasnât being helpful with the clothes? Because I already said thatâs not exactly my area of expertiseââÂ
âItâs not because of the clothes, Zoro,â you said sharply, cutting him off. Zoro clicked his tongue, the sound reverberating around the room and thudding in time with your heartbeat. You turned your attention back onto your reflection. âItâs just me being silly. Donât worry about it.âÂ
âIâm worrying about it,â Zoro deadpanned. You sighed, adjusting the dress one final time before arranging your hair and staring at yourself in the mirror. It fit you perfectly, emphasizing all the right places and hiding all the parts of your body you were more insecure about. âChanged yet?âÂ
âYeah,â you said, voice limp.Â
âLet me see.âÂ
You bit your lip, suddenly nervous about how heâd react. Knowing him, itâd be something like itâs okay or the colorâs fine; perhaps can you even walk in that? or weird shape if he was feeling a little more critical. Still, you stepped out anyway, not meeting Zoroâs eyes as you spun for him, letting him look at the dress from all angles. When youâd finished posing you glanced up, eyes meeting him tentatively.Â
âItâsâŚâ Zoro cleared his throat, ripping his gaze away from the dress on your figure to flicker up to your face. His gaze dropped again nearly as fast, like he couldnât bear to keep eye contact. âUh.âÂ
âItâs what?â you prompted, turning to face the nearest mirror. Your lips twisted into a worried frown, turning to glance at the dress again. Was it really not as perfect as youâd thought originally? âDo you like it? Itâs my favorite so far, I think, but if you donât like itââÂ
âYou look pretty in that,â Zoro blurted, cutting your rambles off with the strident, too-loud sentence. You froze, eyes flickering to meet him in the mirror. Carefully, he glanced up at you, and you could see his Adamâs apple bob as he swallowed hard.Â
âOh.âÂ
Zoro coughed, averting his gaze as you slowly turned around to face him. You couldnât see properly with the less-than-ideal lighting of the room, but his face seemed to have taken on a ruddier complexion. âI like it,â he said, words softer than theyâd been before. âItâs the one.âÂ
There was a little rush of something through your veins, and you felt vaguely lightheaded. âOkay,â you barely managed to squeak out. âThanks.â You stumbled back behind the divider, sucking in a deep breath and trying to regulate your breathing. God, this was actually shameful at this point.Â
You composed yourself quickly, gathering all the dresses youâd tried on and abandoned to return to their proper places. Zoro was still watching you attentively, and you glanced over your shoulder at him. Sparks prickled along your skin as your eyes met. âWhat?â you asked.Â
âYouâre acting weird.âÂ
âAm not.âÂ
Zoro stood up, rolling back his shoulders and stretching his head from side to side. He glanced through the racks and, without even a minuteâs hesitation, plucked a suit jacket and matching pants out from beside him. âYeah, you are. Whatâs up?â
âYouâre just grabbing those without thinking about it?â you demanded, eager to change the subject. Zoro rolled his eyes.
âI picked them like fifteen minutes ago,â he said. âJust didnât grab them until you were done your whole⌠thing. Now spill it. Youâre all red again.âÂ
You swiveled towards the closest mirror, unable to suppress your gape as you saw that your skin had indeed turned a distinctive shade of scarlet, flushed undertones creeping their way up your skin. It was entirely recognizable even in the terrible lighting. Even your skin was treacherous, now. âNothing,â you muttered, unable to meet Zoroâs eyes as you spit it out. âI was annoyed because you werenât telling me what you thought of the dresses.âÂ
âI⌠did, though?â Zoro said, perplexed. You let out a grating sigh, cheeks flaring even hotter now that he was forcing you to confess the entire extent of your sins.Â
âYeah, like, practically,â you said, wrapping your arms defensively over your chest. âYouâll get stabbed in that so easily. You wonât be able to walk. I just wanted you to tell me thatââ you cut yourself off with another groan. âDonât make me say it.â
Zoro blinked. âI have no idea what youâre edging towards, so youâre going to have to say it.â
âI just wanted you to tell me I looked nice!â you finally burst out, turning so you wouldnât have to look at Zoroâs face. God, you were going to have to quit the Straw Hats after this. It was so entirely stupid.Â
âButââ There was a laugh in Zoroâs voice, and you glared down at the floor, all of your dignity having left you by this point. You had no shame left to feel anymore. âI said âyou always look niceâ. Doesnât that insinuateââÂ
âThatâs not the point,â you said hotly, tone almost argumentative now. âI wanted you to think I looked pretty in a dress, Zoro.âÂ
Zoro didnât respond for a moment, brows creasing and face taking on a baffled expression. âBut whyââ Zoro cut himself off, and you turned even redder, holding your breath as he finally connected the dots. A single word fell from his lips, like a soft breath of air as he spoke. âOh.âÂ
âOh,â you muttered under your breath, unable to stop the almost whining tone your voice took on. Zoro stepped closer to you, a hand wrapping around your wrist and forcing you to look up at him.Â
âI said you looked pretty in this one.âÂ
âI know,â you insisted, still all red, âwhich is why Iâm not totally mad at you, butââÂ
âYou looked pretty in all of them,â Zoro said. He didnât look bashful, per seâyou didnât think Zoro could get shyâbut his voice was low, all hoarse in a more tentative way rather than one of his grating remarks this time. âFor the record.âÂ
Your breath caught.Â
âThis oneâs my favorite, though,â Zoro muttered. And then he was leaning down to kiss you, the ghost of his lips just on the corner of your mouth. You gaped up at him in shock as he averted his gaze, staring at some spot about your head. âWas thatââ he started, before clearing his throat and trying again with a little more of his dignity this time. âWas that okay?âÂ
âYes,â you blurted fervently, and before you could fix up the moment with something more, well, suitable, your big mouth ruined it for you. âBut I think weâre holding up dinner. You should get changed, and I still need to find shoes.âÂ
You bit your tongue immediately after the words had been said, but it was too lateâZoro coughed, turning away from you. You panicked, and now it was your turn to grab his arm and tug you towards him. âWait!âÂ
Zoro glanced down at you, perplexed, and then you leaned up to kiss him square on the mouth. He stumbled back, surprised, but adjusted quickly, hand going to cradle the back of your neck and pressing you right to him before you finally broke apart.Â
âYou should steal it,â he started. You stared up at him in question. âThe dress, I mean. You should steal it.âÂ
âWhen am I ever going to need to wear this again?â you asked, perplexed. Zoro shrugged, fingers tugging at the edge of the dress's neckline.Â
âDunno. Just take it. She probably wonât even notice.âÂ
âYouâre adorable,â you teased; Zoro wrinkled his nose but didnât complain, opting instead to move away and pick up the clothes he still hadnât changed into. âGo change. See you at dinner.âÂ
âYeah,â Zoro said, his eyes not straying from your figure as you ducked out of the room. Before you could fully leave, though, Zoro grabbed your wrist, spinning you around towards him.
You didnât have enough time to ask what he was doing when he leaned around to kiss you one final time, his hands cradling your face as your lips moved against each other. It was only a moment later that he stepped away, looking rather sheepish but not very apologetic as he finally let you go.Â
âYou look more than pretty,â he murmured, eyes sinking into yours, and your throat dried, any words you mightâve formed dying away within seconds. âYou always look more than pretty. You look gorgeous.âÂ
âThank you,â you whispered, and then he ducked back inside the closet to change.Â

THE THINGS HE TAKES FOR GRANTED
in which he takes a moment to justify himself after never noticing your little crush for him
starring. akaashi keiji x fem!reader
genre(s): angst to fluff, (super, like-) long scenarioÂ
warning(s): none, i think so? except for clueless keiji and not proof-reading
authorâs note: akaashi is just a major green flag in this (every haikyu!! boy is đ) i feel too bad to write them red-flag-y.
choose your character: m. atsumu | k. akaashi
youâve known akaashi for quite some time, starting from your last year of fukurodani academy and then serendipity brought you both ended up being each otherâs classmate at a same college/university. bokuto kotaro was your best friend, the little owl introduced his favorite setter to you and the friendship of three gradually become established, and as if it can not be any more inevitably, you eventually developed a secret admiration for the pretty setter when you three have been closed enough. however, graduating separated ways, kotaro pursued his journey to become professional in volleyball while keiji, once said to you he wanted a place in the literature department.
truth be told, even if you promised each other you would still keep in touch and plan every weekend friend group meeting online or offline, youâve never expect you would share every class in higher education life with your crush, the akaashi keiji. the great thing is you both are paired up for an presentation assignment in the major you and him pursue, you do have plenty of time to stay close and grab his attention from making gestures that he usually failed to realizes.
here you are again, happily humming your favourite song while carrying a box wrapped with a small detailed towel, some big rolls of assignment paper stuck underneath your arm as you make your way back to where you both planned to finish the project - the library.Â
âkeiji, iâm back!â you set your things respectively on the table, and akaashi nods with a smile on his face in acknowledgement.
âoookay, so hereâs your todayâs snack, I hope youâll like itâ you grin, tapping on the box before pushing it to his side as he receives it and casually opens it while speaking.
âhmm? are those sketches of our poster? you can always edit them on the computer, why the effort?â he chuckled softly before completely unwrapping the bento box.
âIâm not good at designing and stuff. I may draw as I like and youâll be the one to edit it on the computer.â you puff your cheek out, hands resting on hips as you watch his reaction to your delicately decorated sweets in the box made for him.
âthis looks amazing.â he smiles upon seeing the pastries you made, decorated beautifully with different kinds of fruit as each pastry has different flavours, you probably did not stay up so late last night just to make all kinds of flavours for him to show how much you like him. yeah, probably not.
"oh, it's nothing, I just hope it doesn't taste bad" you chuckle nervously while scratching the back of your neck, letting his praise send you up to cloud nine.
your actions falter when you see akaashi put back the box's cap on, set it aside as he leans over to reach the posters you drew.
"now then, can we start working on the project?" he spreads out the piece of paper, glancing at you as you stand there awkwardly, prefer him taking a bite to look through all of your efforts than just shrugging it off and go straight to the main part of your study session.
"what...? oh- um..." you trail off, a bit embarrassed. "wouldn't you like to try one out? it won't hurt to just have a taste of it..."
"maybe later, y/n. we have other things need to be done right now." he merely states, eyes study the poster in front of him, unknowingly sinking your heart.
"yes, right." you shift slightly, taking the sit by the opposite of him, trying to catch up with him on the progress.
you let your mind wanders off how many times you've lost count already while akaashi quietly focused on scribbling something in his notebook, every thoughts you have are always about keiji, your feelings and the stare you give him thinking it's discreet. what's stopping him from trying my tarts out? and how does he feel being around me? or is that his way of rejecting something without making that person feel bad? flooded your mind.
"y/n?" you realize his faint voice ringing somewhere "y/n..." the voice becomes clearer. "earth to y/n, you're staring." awh, snap. right.
you blink, startled before clearing your throat, mumbling a small apology as you try to get yourself busy with the work underneath you once again.
but akaashi just chuckles, his voice calm and reassuring.
"hey, you seem off today. it's lunch break, please make yourself comfortable." you fumble at his words, it's noon already? as he collects his books and tidy it up at one corner of the table before speaking again.
"yuri satsuki is inviting me to have lunch with her. would you like to also join? i think she wouldn't mind." he kindly offers, probably not knowing the words struck you shocked.
you know satsuki-senpai, she's a year older than you and has been a social butterfly ever since you set foot in student life. she is a nice person, you conceived, but not until you found out that she has a huge crush on your akaashi keiji, her behaviour in your eyes became somewhat annoying. in return, she did realize she had a rival to win over him, you acknowledge that through the smug look she gave every time akaashi was around her instead of you, that is how the tension gradually builds up between you and your pain-in-the-ass rival.
and now she's even invited keiji for lunch? you feel an uncomfortable twist in your belly, screaming that if you do not take further actions, you lose akaashi to her. but his way of discarding your hard work, also known as an attempt to get his attention earlier discourages you hastily. this comes to a realization: ever since he start hanging out with satsuki-senpai, he has never touched one of your cooks once.
"no, i'm fine staying here. you go" you force a smile waving him goodbye. he hesitates upon seeing the downward trend of your mood as well as the strange attitude every time he brings up yuri.
"what are you waiting for?" you scoff, trying your best to make it sound not so bitterly. he nods quietly before ruffles your hair, thoughtfully remind you to get something to eat before start working again, and he'll be back with you soon.
you groan for the nth time in thirty minutes since his last leave, deciding not to eat anything at all after you laugh bitterly to yourself seeing the bento box laid cold by his stuffs which corrects your thoughts that he is not going to appreciate what you did for him.
the chair scraped the floor when you stand up, attempting to compose yourself when you feel your brain need a break from overthinking such situations.
on the way out of the library, your eyes meet yuri satsuki's, assuming that keiji is just somewhere around here as his lunch break partner is the person you least excited to bump into.
"well, well. isn't that the girl whose best friend choose to hang out with me instead of her?"
excuse me?
"don't get too ahead of yourself, satsuki-senpai. just a friendly reminder" your tone evidently irritated as you flash her an unamused smile, trying to avoid her as soon as possible.
but the radio scene of her voice replayed all over your head, your mind goes muddy despite the fresh air you're trying to take in, you let out a shaky breath, tears brimming out.
maybe, he doesn't quite noticed the things I did for him after all...
---
"you're back. where were you?" akaashi worried tone surprises you after a quite fine time of trying to find you because your study desk in the library was empty.
"i was... out for fresh air. why?" your voice is off and he noticed that. he always knew when something is bothering you, and right now he definitely know that something is wrong.
"after i finished my lunch i got yours, 'cause i know when i'm back you would still hadn't eaten anything." his brows slightly furrow seeing your avoiding attitude.
"thanks, keiji." you said briefly, take the package from his hand and sit down on your seat, never forget to notice the pastry box still intact.
your strange attitude didn't just stop there, it confuses akaashi for a more couple of days of your avoidance, he dislike the way you put a small distance between you both in study sessions, you flinch and tense around him more often, your answers and conversations are brief and sometimes awkward as you seem to be more preoccupied and attentive rather than to communicate with him.
"good morning, y/n." he smiles, your state has been bothering him for days as he is paying attention to your fade grin and a small "hey" as a greet back.
then he fumbles. something is missing...
oh. but then, realization sets in him quite quickly: you didn't bring any homemade sweets today.
"y/n..." he hesitates, meeting your eyes as you lift your head up from the notebook you're scribbling on. "does your home perhaps... out of ingredients or something?"
you are stunned for a moment, knowing exactly what he was trying to imply, scared to look at him directly in the eye as you shift your gaze elsewhere, pretending to have forgotten.
"oh... you mean the pastries... I forgot to do it. I was busy yesterday"
lies. he see through it, you know that, but you can't just blurt it all out that you're heartbreaking because of his indirect rejection that never says he doesn't like you, but makes you feel like it did.
"hey... i know something is wrong, can you tell me what it is?"
there it is - the worried look on such handsome face that never fails to make your heart flutter. but you know, that is just his nature of being an attentive and thoughtful person, not just for only you, but for everyone in his orbit.
so his question remained unanswered.
akaashi has been extremely distracted due to the sudden lack of your affection on him. it's just doesn't feel the same. even if he refuses it but deep down, he misses your midday snacks, your bubbly laugh around him and that flushed cheeks you wear every time he caught you staring. it has been a whole week since, and the fact that you didn't join the friend group video call with bokuto last sunday was his last straw.
he misses you, dearly. and if he doesn't do anything now before your project is finished, he might find it difficult to approach you even when you are his best friend.
and then, on an another lovely morning in the college's campus, an emotion he thinks he's aware of stirring in his stomach at the scene of you handing out a bento box wrapped with the same detailed towel, a small smile tugs at the corner of your lips as the other boy laughs lightly, scratches his neck, sending regards with a polite bow before making his way back in the classroom, akaashi doesn't like what his eyes have witnessed, so when he met yours, the bitterful look sends shivers down your spine.
you turn away, begin to walk, you do not want to deal with your bothered heart right now, not if it has anything to do with him, with that thought, you choose to neglect it because it is just your one-sided feelings for him.
but you hear footsteps behind, next is a small "wait" escaped from his lips when he managed to catch up and hold gently on your arm. that stopped you midtrack.
"please. can we talk?" he pleads.
---
you find yourself trapped by his presence in a corner of the school's library. there's no point in avoiding now.
"i'm sorry." he states. "i like you, i should've known."
your eyes widen. why- all of a sudden?
akaashi glances at you, softly sighs before bring your hand up to his face and kiss your knuckles gently.
"i understand now, i was clueless, you have the very right to be mad at me." each sentences he speaks crack your heart, but at the same time, they give you hope.
you neither know how to react, nor what to say, you just stand there, completely speechless, it encourages him to continue his speech of pursuing you.
"the last time i went to have lunch with satsuki, she confessed to me." he stopped, watching your expression. "but i turned her down, then, she got angry and started to brag about you. i did not like what she said, so i got quite defensive and... that was when i realised."
"i didn't know when it started. i just knew that i didn't feel very comfortable seeing you bringing your pastries that was meant for me to someone else, and more it's because i didn't appreciate it."
he squeezes your hand, afraid if not, you'll slip from his grip and become somebody else's apple. he certainly dislikes the thought.
"i want your pastries back, i love them as much as i love you. please let me correct such a terrible mistake."
---
"yes, hello. i've received the box, thank you, my love."
akaashi spins his office chair slightly, softly speaking to the phone stuck between his cheek and shoulder with a smile while unwrapping a huge warm box of freshly baked tarts.
"keiji, bad news, i'm out of powdered sugar after that batch." your voice echoed on output, he chuckles.
"are you free after work? we can visit the supermarket to purchase some. i'll drive, consider this a date with me, 'mkay?"

One thing I haven't seen a lot of talk about in the fandom so far is about the financials of this season.
It took us two whole months to get a confirmation of renewal from Max, and I talked at the time that I think there was probably a lot of heated negotiations going on at the time with contracts and that's why it took as long as it did.
I think we see a huge number of indications of the compromises that were made in order for S2 to be made. One obvious one that has been talked about is being making in in NZ instead of LA, to save $.
But there's also the eight episodes instead of ten. And then the cast aspect. One downside of moving overseas was having to fly out and house the cast, not just pay day wages.
We knew immediately about Guz Khan not coming back, losing Ivan as a character. At the time I was sad but I thought it had the air of a pretty harshly practical call. If you went through the main recurring cast and said okay which character will affect the fewest things, has the least character interactions of anyone? It would be Ivan. (With the only competition being The Swede IMO, but he's Stede's crew and therefore a little more central.)
And then this season started and we got first The Swede sidelined and taken out of major scenes. And then I noticed that different members of the crew were simply absent for long stretches, like Wee John isn't around for ep 5 at all. And then Buttons takes flight.
Lucius and Pete aren't at the party for most of it. Fang isn't in the torture scene. Roach and Fang aren't in the bar. Etc. SCHEDULING IS HAPPENING.
The new characters are almost entirely played by NZ local actors, which is great, but also...cheaper.
In other words there are big signs that they did everything possible to give us a giant cast of almost everyone we love from S1, and cool new characters, in the most economical way possible.
And I'm grateful for it. I'm grateful we got S2, and it looks great, and it's well written, I'm having a blast, and we get to spend more time with this awesome cast.
But I also kinda think it needs to be said that the cost-cutting shows. That it shouldn't have been only 8 episodes, the pacing is off. That we miss every time someone from the ensemble isn't on screen.
That despite what they've put on screen looking very good, there's far less costuming budget, there's less elaborate sets, and it's a little disappointing. And it's clear it's not a lack of will or talent or vision but blatantly lack of money.
Look, streaming networks want brilliant shows that people love (that will get them to subscribe) but they very don't want to pay anyone to make them. That's like, the whole moment we're having right now.
Max puts out promos about how great it is to not have unions messing shit up in NZ. Well I have friends who are union costumers in LA and guess what union costumers did amazing last season. This season, well, I guess Stede got three whole shirts, so that's cool.
So I dunno. It's just stuff I think about. I'm not trying to be negative about the show in any way. I'm extremely happy with this season; I love it more than well, possibly any show I've ever been in fandom for.
But I see you, Max. You're cheap. You weren't that cheap when you were called HBO.

Could I get headcanons for Feitan, Illumi, Leorio, and Chrollo falling for gn!reader who by all means seems like a strong, nuturing, emotionally stable individual but every once in awhile casually says or does smthin that makes people go "Oh you're a little fuckin nuts, actually"
(e.x.: Most of their D.I.Y. furniture is made of different kinds of bone, morbidly interested in the more gorey parts of their jobs, probably works in a field that allows them to be around the dead often like a taxidermist or a mortitian, highkey just unabashashedly a morbid little freakâ˘ď¸ whenever it comes up naturally in conversation but otherwise comes across as just an attentive lil guy you could bring home the average parents would love.)
HXH Men with a Morbid!S/o
Characters: Leorio Paladaknight, Illumi Zoldyck, Chrollo Lucilfer, Feitan Portor Type: Headcanons, Gn!reader
this is so me
Warnings: dead things and body parts and stuff
Leorio Paladaknight
being an aspiring doctor, Leorio thought that your knowledge on both human and animal anatomy was pretty useful
at first he didn't think much about your job and just assumed you were some type of doctor or biologist or something
he often asks you questions as he studies and you're a pretty good tutor
the first time Leorio realized you were kinda weird is when one day you were walking down the street and saw some roadkill
and you were like "aww too bad, the skin and bones are too damaged to harvest"
and you kept walking like it was normal while he was like ?!!??!?
or you guys were having a normal conversation and you say something like
"if you died i'd taxidermy you and re-articulate your skeleton so you'd be with me forever <3"
1 taxidermizing humans is illegal and 2 WHAT
he is cold sweating wtf did he get himself into
when he comes to your house for the first time and sees a bunch of bones, animal skins and wet specimens he damn near passes the fuck out
how do you just casually have dead things and remains around your house!?
AND WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU MADE YOUR COFFEE TABLE OUT OF CAMEL BONES?
he is freaking the fuck out and you're just like "dw everything is ethically sourced :D"
yeah he thinks you're a freak and he is too fearful to break up with you ever (not like he was planning to anyways)
Illumi Zoldyck
whatever drew Illumi to you had to have been some type of power
aside from that power, to Illumi you were relatively normal and had a good grip on your emotions which made you a perfect candidate
that being said he could care less what your job was, you'd just end up working for or with him eventually
when he started bringing you around the estate, you often sought out their guard dog Mike and Illumi couldn't think of why
that is until you came back one day with a human femur and bright smile on your face
"... where did you even get that?" "From one of Mike's victims. If I collect enough I could make a whole set of bar stools!"
he blinked at you and chose to ignore your statement
i mean, to each their own am i right?
so you have ah hobby, big deal
Illumi just thinks you're pretty normal personality wise until you randomly but casually drop information about what you do in your free time or have in your home
so now whenever he has a job Illumi calls you in for cleanup
you get to do.... whatever it is you do and there's no evidence of a dead body left behind, it's a win win
Chrollo Lucilfer
he couldn't care less what your job is because it's probably not worse than his đ
he didn't really notice anything "morbid" about you until he asked about your jewlery
you wore things like resin caster bug pendants or bird skull earrings and stuff
he just assumed they were fake and you bought them because they looked badass
but then you told him you make it all YOURSELF
he is intrigued
he doesn't really question you past that because you were probably buying the bones and stuff somewhere (spoiler alert you're not)
what really caused him to think was when you casually just picked up a dead rat off the floor in some abandoned building you were exploring and suck it in your pocket
bro was so confused
"What do you need that for?" "To make a new necklace :3"
yeah now he knows that your odd taste in jewelry goes deeper than just that
he won't judge you though, if anything you're a better person than he is considering you don't kill things yourself
he is literally a murderer and a thief and has committed like 3467633788 crimes so he couldn't judge even if he wanted to
so now when he sees dead animals and what not he bags them up and brings them to you
he likes to sit in on your cleaning and making process
you seem like a perfectly normal and sweet person to everyone else but Chrollo knows about your freaky little hobby and it just makes him like you even more
Feitan Portor
I feel like for you and Feitan to even be acquainted you have to be part of the troupe
whatever you do outside of it is your business
buttttttt since you are his s/o and Feitan is probably homeless he crashes wherever you are
thus him finding out about your hobby and other job
out of everyone on this list he is the most interested
he too is a morbid little freak
he goes with you to find things and will help you with the cleaning/taxidermy or whatever process if you let him
what he doesn't understand though is why you don't just kill the things you want instead of hunting for already dead things
sometimes he will go catch like a squirrel or something and bring it back to you like a cat and tell you he found it like that
Fei baby. No the fuck you didn't
after doing what you're doing for so long you can tell what caused an animal to die but you wouldn't tell him that
he's just so cute and wants to be supportive of your hobby <3

Letâs talk about Warriors and Wild
This was another âweirdâ pairing that came out of the latest update.
Youâd think that the two with no dungeon experience should each be paired with someone more experienced, right? Well, Warriors isnât really thinking about that. He has a different motive for choosing Wild to team up with, and no, itâs not because heâs âmadâ at him. The reason actually reveals a lot about both of their characters, and displays a great deal of character growth on Warriors' part specifically.
Deep dive under the cut!
Okay first off, letâs get something out of the way. Just because Warriors and Wild have no traditional dungeon experience, that doesnât make them ill-equipped. Warriors has tons of combat experience and is demonstrably very intelligent. And Wild? Sure he didnât have traditional dungeons in BotW, but you know what he did have? Puzzles. A TON of puzzles. That guy can do puzzles in his sleep. I highly doubt that heâs gonna have trouble with dungeon puzzles once he figures out how to approach them (which wonât take long).
All right, now that we have that cleared up, moving on!
From the very beginning, Wars holds great respect for Wild:
Because at the start of the adventure, Warriors doesn't realize just how different he is from the others. He gets put with a bunch of guys who share his name and his spirit, so of course he thinks his experience isnât unique. Theyâre all just like him, right?
Okay, uh, maybe not? But they still canât be that different, Warriors thinks. Sky is also a knight, and he acts exactly the way Warriors expects a knight to act.
He catches onto plans immediately:
And follows through flawlessly:
Itâs not about authority and Skyâs ability to follow orders. Itâs about the fact that Sky is on the same page. He went to military school. He has extensive training. He knows what to do and when, with barely any prompting, because heâs been taught to think the same way Warriors thinks. Warriors and Sky work together perfectly because of this:
But with Wild? Warriors is expecting the exact same thing with Wild, a fellow knight, but what he gets from the Champion is far from what he gets with Sky. This is very unexpected for Warriors. He gives what he thinks is a clear directive:
âClear out the restâ to Warriors and Sky means âget rid of all the little guys so we can focus on the big guy.â Solid strategy. But Wild does not interpret this the same way, because he does not remember his military training and therefore any of the strategy he was taught. âClear out the restâ just means get rid of everyone to him. And he decides to eliminate the biggest threat first. Itâs important to note here that heâs not âdefying ordersâ because his emotions are getting the better of him, or even because he thinks he shouldn't have been given orders. The way he sees it, he is following orders. Warriors said âclear out the rest.â And thatâs what Wildâs helping to do. But then afterwards? Warriors is angry!
The plan? What plan? There was no plan! The goal was just to get rid of everyone! Why does it matter if Wild took out the big guy before the little guys?
Itâs at this point that Wild realizes heâs done something wrong, but he doesnât know what heâs done wrong. (Any other neurodivergent folks here? If so, yeah, you know how this feels. I know I do.)
Itâs clear through subsequent interactions that Wild genuinely does not understand what the problem is:
He thought he made the right move, but others donât seem to think so. Heâs already emotional, and this is just adding more fuel to the fire. He snaps, starts a fight with Four, and runs off still feeling confused.
Meanwhile, Warriors is also confused. Why didnât Wild act the way Warriors thought he would? Heâs a knight, right? Why did he do what he did, and how did he not understand that his choice of strategy was incorrect after?
And itâs not just Wild that Warriors failed to read correctly; the others are clashing with him too. Case in point, Twilightâs refusal to hang back after being injured:
In the aftermath of the battle, itâs at this point that Warriors makes a realization: heâs the one who made a mistake. He had preconceived expectations of people, and that ended up majorly backfiring on him.
Warriors knows that he can't be a good teammate - and a good leader - if he doesn't understand where his companions are coming from. Again, it's not about authority, it's about being on the same page. Ever since, he has been trying to seek better understanding. Maybe Wild doesn't feel comfortable taking orders from Warriors, and only listens to those he knows well?
But Twilight said, "No he doesn't." Huh. Okay. Well, maybe Warriors can try to get inside Wild's head? Let's try some bantering! These guys love to banter!
Oops. Fumble. That didn't go well. But hey, at least Wild seems to have figured out what he did wrong!
That's a step in the right direction! Okay, they're getting somewhere, Warriors thinks.
But Wild is really down on himself. He now realizes that he misinterpreted a directive that he should have understood. And thinks that Warriors thinks he's stupid, and hates him. (Again, where my neurodivergent peeps at? Yeah. That feeling.)
Meanwhile, things are becoming clearer to Warriors. Not only does he realize that he shouldn't have viewed his teammates through his own preconceived notions, but for the first time, he also realizes just how different his experience was from everyone else's:
He realizes he's got a LOT of learning to do. His discordance with Wild is proof of that. But Wild has never been in a dungeon either. Maybe this is their chance to connect? Warriors tries once again to get inside Wild's head. Maybe he can try to understand why Wild isn't approaching this dungeon the way Warriors would:
Aaaaand Wild froze up. Dang it. Warriors isn't getting anything. He really needs to figure out what's going wrong here so they can work together. It's for both of their benefit, and the group's benefit as a whole. They need to get on the same page so that they can not only fight together, but be good friends to each other. And when the opportunity arises to team up one-on-one, Warriors jumps at it! This is the perfect opportunity, he thinks!
But right now? Wild doesn't realize that. He thinks that Warriors is mad at him. Warriors is NOT mad at him. Warriors is trying to learn, to better himself, and to forge a connection.
And I believe that even though it's been a bumpy road, we're going to see some amazing growth between Warriors and Wild in the future.
