Is this how I'm starting my blog? Yes, so sorry not sorry!
I have no idea how those older kpop fans survived this, But I can't handle my Hybe boys going so fast by the time Seventeen is done its TXT then EN-. Like I know the other boys will be there but i need them all as emotional support.
Anyways there's my rant lol. Can't wait to see what Jun has cooking up in China. Going to attempt to make a Hybe Boy Group Playlist on Spotify.

SVSSS jokes about how SQH or SQQ make modern references and everyone looks at them in confusion are all well in good. Great even, Im a big fan. But I want to play with the "standards of modesty / purity are different in modern vs ancient times" thing and have them make a reference that out of context (or even with context sometimes tbh) is just absoloutley awful down bad filth
Like. SQH is hearing someone stirring porridge or smthn and absentmindedly going, "heh. That's what good pussy sounds lik— wait. Wait no. Wait guys no. WAIT GUYS NO GUYS IM SORRY—"
SQQ looks at him in disgust from behind his fan as if he didn't have the same reflex joke thought
SQH, seeing some random, oddly phallic shaped plant he wrote into the world: twitches like a man who wants to open a comment section that does not exist then reflexively mumbles, "damn I should call her"
MBJ: Who the fuck is her

Thinking about Lan Wangji communicating with nothing but “Mn” and the only two people who can decipher his different Mn’s are Wei Wuxian and Lan Xichen.
LXC: Wangji, how is Sizhui’s training coming along?
LWJ: Mn.
LXC: You’re saying Sizhui already had an entire conversation with a spirit using his guqin at 4-years-old? What talent!
WWX: Where’d that kid run off to?
LWJ: Mn!
WWX: What’s that, Lan Zhan?? Little Jingyi fell down the well?!?!

“Dead wood on Yalong Glacier”
The cliff above Yalong Glacier in Tibet is covered with ancient trees of various shapes. I used the branches of these trees to frame the distant glacier and snow-capped mountains.

Scum Villain AU, where the end of the novel goes somewhat different. Briefly put, things go off the rails in all the wrong ways and SQQ dies once more.
Only to wake up from the coma his original body's been stuck in for ages (hell, might actually be as many years as he's been living - man wakes from decade long coma headlines and all).
He re-adjusts. Goes to therapists who helpfully help him realize that oh, this was just a dream based on his obsession with this terrible webnovel. He re-adjusts. Leaves the care facility and gets a new apartment. Gets his things from storage and has a breakdown about putting the PIDW merch up in his new place, as you do.
Life goes on, even for a lazy second gen who managed to miss a decade. Our SY might even get a job, who knows.
Might even grow convinced that yeah, it really was just a particularly vivid dream.
And then one night there's a knock on the door, and outside stands a full-blood Heavenly Demon Emperor with Xin Mo dangling from his side, frowning at him. Listen, let's not blame SY for fainting, okay? There's only so many re-adjusted worldviews a guy can handle.
He slowly wakes up on his couch, slowly enough that he's got time to think "oh, this was all another dream" - and then he hears Tianlang-Jun's voice reading aloud from the lovely PIDW hardcover SY had put on his bookshelf, and naturally he's found one of the early, more well-written before it all got repetitive sex scenes...

Did you know that in ancient China they referred to snowflakes as having 6 “petals” and even named a goddess Teng Liu (Liu meaning 6)
I learned this when researching mythology around ice and snow in ancient China for Mobei Jun headcannons
What I’m trying to say is we should have more 6 imagery with Mobei Jun and I’ll be back with more info but researching obscure Chinese mythology is hard when you only know English so if anyone has info hit me up

I know Ubisoft put zero research into this and has no idea what they've done, but Shao Jun having short hair is kind of a Big Deal, actually.
Tumblr media
During Ye Olde China times, cutting your hair was often seen as a sign of disrespect or disgrace, because you were expected to keep it long and maintain it, as every part of your body was a gift from your parents.
This would have been an especially big deal during the Ming Dynasty, as the dynasty preceding it was ruled by Mongols, who braided their hair. Their customs were long viewed by Han Chinese as "barbaric," and so keeping their hair long and in Han styles would have been an act of cultural pride.
Ubisoft probably just felt like making a short-haired character! They couldn't even bother to give her a Chinese voice actress, so zero thought was put into her! But now I have all these in-universe headcanons about why she has short hair!!!!!!
Maybe she cut her hair when she joined the Brotherhood to signify that she didn't belong to anyone anymore, and besides, people couldn't see it from under the hood anyway.
My biggest headcanon is that she cut it when she went into exile, to signify that she had been severed from the motherland, and refused to let it grow back until she had come back and killed Zhang Yong!
I like to think that after she had come back and restored the Brotherhood, she grew her hair back out again, and that she grew into a wise old Mentor with hair longer and more well-kept than anyone's.
