#my stuff #my art #these posters went through 14 separate drafts. it was a harrowing and difficult experience #i am Fully Going through it which means 1) physical health is suffering 2) social life also but 3) the thing is going to be so fucking good #sarus is gonna be the best thing ive ever made when we finish it. i Know it #so i want you to see it because it's one of those ambitious stories where everything's bigger than life #and the world is old and young and scary and kind and people live fearlessly and with cowardice #BUT EVERYTHING WILL BE OK. IF YOU JUST KEEP WALKING. this is going to be one of those stories #so many dance blurbs and descriptions are like stupid technical like oh we explored the effect of weighing down our hands and feet #on our Center of Gravity and how it altered the rotational momentum of turns and jumps #or else they're stupid esoteric like oh the wind blew..... and the children wept and all over the world the oceans rose... Bnha makes me so mad because it could’ve been good. It had a lot of good aspects. But in the end none of them were satisfyingly resolved so it just feels bad.

I LIKE these characters and some of this story is very near and dear to my heart #I’m also not saying everything I didn’t like is a writing flaw #and in fact a lot of the things I didn’t like I think should stay there just get meaningfully addressed #but good godddddddddd it’s upsetting to see a story I cared abt sm & I leaned on during some shit end like this #whatever.#I haven’t even actually been keeping up besides looking at the spoilers for years now #it’s not like I’m gonna stop thinking abt the version that lives in my head. it’s just a shame about the official ending that’s all.#at the end of the day I’m not the author horikoshi is and that’s how he chose to end his story.

yeah so that scene where mike kicks down the fort in his basement in s1 is definitely supposed to be paralleled by will taking down castle byers in s3. just if anyone cares about when mike turned his back on being a kid.

#stranger things #80s #the duffer brothers #byler #miwi #will byers #mike wheeler #byler endgame #st5 #ive heard people say it symbolizes him losing trust in el #and thats a good interpretation #until you watch the next scene where he's talking to dustin and feeling bad for how he treated el #like it would work...#but NO #because he takes the fort down right after he #1: is told that his attempts to find will are actually doing the opposite and ensuring he's left to die in the upside down #2: is accused of caring more about being liked by a girl than saving his best friend #3: fights with lucas who gets hurt and leaves to look for will alone -- bc he thinks his chances of finding will are better without mike #4: loses el after the fight with lucas-- another friend that went missing under his nose #5: LOSES EL. his one link to will. his last hope.#in my opinion this was reality sinking in #this was him realizing that this isnt some campaign that they could win and be okay at the end of #he felt the most hopeless he ever had and tore down the only safe place in his home #him tearing down the fort wasnt him losing trust in el it was him losing hope and confidence in himself as a leader and friend #and yknow he jumps off the quarry right after that... mayhaps thinking it was all he had to offer anymore...???#AND THEN HE TRIES TO REBUILD IT AT THE END OF S1 BUT IT JUST SLOWLY DISAPPEARS PIECE BY PIECE IN S2 & 3 #in the following seasons -- even when his friends are goofing off and acting their age -- mike is decidedly not #he puts himself in the role of a leader and protector at age 12 and literally never comes back from it #and yeah the more he 'fails' at it the worse he feels about himself the more he tries to grow up #me waiting for s5 to confirm mike's complicated and incredibly intricate and well written character status

i cannot stand the aot fandom this is not a new take at all they are universally intolerable but oh my dayssss u are FORBIDDEN from making ANY take about the show it's actually insane to watch. 'aot is perfect' no show is perfect. 'tell me you didnt get the show 😂🫵' people have different opinions/interpretations about things. 'eren is a good guy they could never make me hate him' i think there's actually 4 seasons and two movies explicitely using him as a tool to show that no one is 'good' or 'evil' they are only trying to survive. hello. the fandom r all so far up aot's ass that they actually discredit its writing in the process and it would be laughable if it wasn't so frustrating

THAT IS SUCH AN ICE COLD CONCLUSION. EREN WAS NEVER SPECIAL - THAT'S THE POINT #and like countless times through history one selfish person with their hands on an insane amount of power and a conviction #that they are doing the right thing goes on to lead to a continuation of the cycle of war #like the end credits with the tree is genuinely HAUNTING. it never ended. eren KNEW the rumbling would be unnsuccessful #and would leave enough of their enemies alive that they'd eventually retaliate HE KNEW THAT and did it anyway #why? bc he just /wanted/ it. desperately and immaturely. and so the war turned over for another generation and another and #LIKE THAT IS SUCH A POIGNANT HAUNTING TAKE. I FR STARED AT THE BLACK SCREEN ONCE I FINISHED IT FOR 5 MINS IN HORRIFIED SILENCE #yes it's not his sole motivation but ultimately the crux of his character boils down to the fact he's just some kid #to the point even when he's explaining it to armin at the very end they SHOW HIM AS A KID. what strikes me about some anti-sylki takes is that someone comes up with a Problematic Interpretation that makes no fucking sense and then they go around the internet recruiting people who don't really agree with them but will go along with it because just not liking a pairing isn't good enough anymore (idk what that's about), and then within a few months you run into someone in another fandom saying "but i heard that pairing promotes the very common and not just made up from fuck-all idea that bisexuals only want to fuck themselves and also that it supports footbinding because the woman one has smaller feet than the man version of the character, how can you defend something like that?"

and i just can't get any further with a response to that than "what the fuck," because really what the fuck?

wait Furiosa was really good actually, why did it flop?

#furiosa #mad max fury road #i had full intentions of seeing it in theaters and then life got swamped in may and by the time i had a free night it was out of theaters #and i was really bummed because i was looking forward to seeing it on the big screen #but anyways i finally watched it and it was good?? why did it do so poorly?#it wasn’t fury road but it also wasn’t trying to be?#the chase scenes (which are a core asset of the franchise lbr) i felt were on par with fury road #it’s all the other stuff that’s different #but that’s a good thing! it should be different because it’s a different story!#Furiosa (char) and Max worked so well as parallels #but in order to make that parallel interesting instead of redundant you have to change your storytelling a bit #Furiosa (movie) takes place over the span of 15 years whereas Fury Road takes place in 3? days #so yes Fury Road is going to have a faster pace #but taking the time to slow down for some world building and character development in Furiosa is not a bad thing?#and people complained about the CGI and usually I am the first person to jump on that #and yes there were some scenes that I think the CGI was a bit off #however.#you can see how much work was put into practical effects and stunt coordination #so idk personally think they should get a pass #mad max

all i'll say about Noah's video is that i think it's weird people are calling it a "bad apology", because it's not even an apology video. the only thing he says is that his opinions have been misconstrued and that he doesn't want people to die, which, yeah, he already said before. there's no sorry, from the video alone you wouldn't even know if he's aware of what he did that made people turn on him so fast in the first place

i know the norm nowadays is to call any response to an issue/a situation an "apology" but sometimes it's just a statement, which is what this is. if he was genuinely "apologizing" he'd have to address the actual things he did, like keep misinformation up, even after it's been disproven and worst of all the "zionism is sexy" thing. what he's doing is just cautious backpeddling by saying everyone got him wrong. just a pretty obvious pr nothing-statement sadly
