i asked this also once at least a year or more ago before arc 5 was out (or at least fully out), but now that the full game's been out for a while i was randomly curious to see what the results are and if they are very different, etc., so please excuse the self-indulgent poll lol

feel free to also say why if you want especially if you want to convince others to vote a certain way lol joking. i somehow feel like most people already know which one they like the best LOL though favorite could be for any reason, even if it's just as silly as it's the one you feel strongest about or have the most scenes you like, the one you replay the most, etc.

arc 3 is my absolutely favorite hands DOWN. I relate to orlam severely in his trauma, his extremely obvious hypersexuality, and especially the way he was treated by his “friends” until the end of arc 5 and the timeline reset.

(btw I want to clarify that this is NOT meant to be a trauma dump by any means. this chapter just affected me a lot and I wanted to give the reasons why without going into too much detail on my end but also giving it the praise it deserves by handling topics I very much relate to)

there were already signs already littered throughout arcs 1 and 2 that stung to me when it came to orlam that I could really relate to. and it was really goddamn hard for me watching orlam go through this constant abuse as somehow who was treated exactly like him growing up. It felt like I was watching myself all over again and chapter 3 solidified it

for once he was actually being treated NICELY by SOMEONE, even for an arc. dude like the whole orlam being thrown off and even deterred a tad by iggy SIMPLY CHECKING TO SEE IF HE IS OKAY bc orlam just isn’t USED to that and god that resonated with me hard. don’t even get me started on the bathroom scene. christ. it was so incredibly hard to get through but in the “I am being so severely called out rn” way, not the “this arc is garbage” way

the iggy’s room scene and the prom scenes are what genuinely kinda make me crack??????????? god. I had to pause when orlam said his terrified little “daddy?” bc I had to shut my laptop and just. SIT there and try not to cry. it shook me so hard and I’m genuinely glad it did bc of how seen I felt. the after prom scene made me weep genuine tears. abandonment trauma is so extremely personal to me and seeing orlam not even an adult yet break down bc everyone in his life keeps leaving him, and GOD how he’s just been treated like shit the ENTIRE TIME except by iggy in this ONE SPECIFIC CHAPTER

(dawg don’t even get me STARTED on the classroom prom photo and how I felt about that a couple arcs later dude I was SOBBING)

LIKE DAWG I WAS CHEERING WHEN IGGY STOOD UP FOR ORLAM ON THE BOAT EVEN IF IT WAS JUST FOR THAT CHAPTER I WAS JUST SO SICK OF ORLAM BEING DOGGED ON ALL THE TIME 😭😭😭

this arc is my favorite arc, but also the hardest arc for me to play due to how much orlam resonates with me as a character

he is probably the character I am the most happy got their good ending, and I’m not just saying that as an orlam fan, but as a victim of the same types of abuse he /constantly/ suffered. I’m glad he’s loved by his pals post-timeline reset and that him and genzou’s beef is WAY less terrible than it was post-reset.

the way you handled abandonment trauma and truly What It Does To A Mfer was extremely accurate and done extremely well to me. you handled what it’s like to be the punching bag friend EXTREMELY well and what constant abuse and harassment does to someone mentally AND socially. like orlam didn’t have anyone else to turn to, he had these 4 people who took all their shit out on him and that’s IT. of COURSE he was going to develop an attachment to genzou like that when they had their situationship, that was probably the most affection(?) he’s gotten……EVER??????????????????? and then to have that be INSTANTLY taken from him bc of genzou’s inability to accept his sexuality issssssss OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

the torture scene with orlam’s heart in arc 5 got me too that shit was done so well BUT THIS IS ABOUT ARC 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but yeah. best arc is definitely 5 but arc 3 will always be my favorite bc it focuses on a character I heavily relate to, the topics in it are handled extremely well, and it’s the arc that hit the hardest for me

I voted for ARC 1 🥰!! All of Our Wonderland is incredible, ARC 5 especially having so much love and time put into it that really emphasizes the payoff of the story....

But ARC 1 stays in a special place in my heart because the way it introduces characters and builds intrigue and excitement for the rest of the story is just so good! It got my ass hooked forsureee 💕

Kind of silly but I headcanon that Saydie is the one to tell the story of the tree at the beginning of arc 5 (at least her aged up soul). Is that an actual possibility in any way?

I think as thanks to everyone for doing my silly poll I'll do a little write-up of my own thoughts about each arc when it's done, like my general thoughts and feelings about each one, how I approached it, interesting things and challenges, maybe even random lore I haven't shared before (though sometimes I forget what I have and haven't shared I'll be honest LOL)

Your reveal about Iggy being surprisingly good at FPS shooters now makes me think of an AU where Iggy keeps his social anxiety/reclusive tendencies, but now works as a freelance sniper-assassin with a surprisingly feared (if mysteriously masked!) reputation cause he's that guy nobody would ever suspect of being a pro killer. 😏

Cue in spy drama/thriller hijinks, where Iggy encounters the OW Cast who are also hired killers, all with their own styles! 👀 Genzou's style strikes me as creatively prankish but would make a dramatic statement. Orlam's killer approach would be more charming-manipulative but still stylish. Gidget's strikes me as being more calculated & technically proficient (eg. drones) whereas Buck's killer style would probably be...the most brutally hands-on, to say the least. 😂🪓🪚

Now I just imagine Sniper!Iggy running into Assassin!Genzou during an assignment, and the two end up competing on who can take their shared target down first. Fast forward to Genzou being left completely smitten by his unexpected rival's victory, and by still not knowing Iggy's true identity... 🙈 /end scene

I voted for arc 2 of Our Wonderland as my fav arc, because I’m a Genzou girlie till the day I die, but I felt it important to not understate how important arc 1 really was! Like the end still has a hold on my heart more than any other part gosh 😭

Arc 5 hits an extreme high ofc because of its ending that goes without saying.

Just wanted to let you know that it meant a lot to me and hits an emotional high that will stick with me forever.

some part of me always wants to wonder if anyone even like, cares about arc 1, or remembers much about it, or liked it that much. not only because it only acts as the very first look at the chars but also because of the art LOL though at least the latter will hopefully be made better once the remaster is done. but there are parts of arc 1 that are still very important to me when i think about it... like just the fact that it does set everything up, sets the ball in motion, and kinda gives the first horrific look at everything. the first glimpse of wonderland for instance when it's brand-new and you don't know what to expect yet

also admittedly the ending of arc 1 still makes me cry. it's another one of those parts i find very difficult to watch others play and that stupid stupid final wish music makes my stupid heart clench up soooOOOOO bad and i can just start to feel the tears well up because IGGY NO IGGY PLEASE...

so...

at any rate, hearing you say that does really mean a lot, to hear that there's still a connection to arc 1 and how it all started even if later arcs took things much further with bigger hits

it's been over a year and a half since i worked on arc 4, but when i think about the scene where iggy mercy-kills genzou my heart still stops functioning for a solid 10 seconds

i could see orlam and bucks being the best at dance dance revolution as they have the best sense of rhythm and general dance-related physical fitness lol

i'll say iggy for the FPS. i have a sudden funny vision of him looking all bright-eyed and innocent and then comes in and totally annihilates and everyone gets scared hahaha

i'll say genzou for the crane game as i have a funny mental image of him not even being able to see where the crane is going yet somehow every time manages to get something while all the others try super hard to aim it and never get anything. it's because he heard iggy say one of the animals was cute and his soul went into overdrive needing to get it for him kdfjadsfa

i think bucks would be the best at air hockey and would get incredibly intense and scary. and i have a really funny mental image of cecil being randomly good at basketball and just tossing them up completely bored and monotone but each one goes right into the basket

fighting games would probably be iggy and gidget, i think they'd both be really good at them and would stand for hours going back and forth each winning one after the other so the tournament never ends and they're both shouting and rapidly pressing buttons

vibes and food would be genzou and hunar. genzou because he wouldn't actually be able to play most of the games so he'd just vibe and drink lots of beer and enjoy the general raucous atmosphere. hunar because he's not very competitive and would rather just watch everyone else play games while he eats and drinks

this is all such a cute mental image though SOB i loved thinking about this...

i remember commenting on our wonderland on itch asking if i could make a fangame ans then you said it depends and i said it would be like cinderella instead of alice in wonderland and it would be a dating simulator and then our cinderella came out 😭

LOL?? i have to apologize as i don't specifically remember you. i've gotten many asks and questions about potential fan games over the years 🤣

the cinderella aspect of OC was admittedly one of the last things added. it began as me wanting to create another texting sim because i had so much fun with T2A2G so i wanted to do something longer with all the chars. and after releasing arc 5.2 i completely crashed mentally and needed something new and different to work on so i started writing silly texts between iggy and genzou and dinking around with renpy to see if i had the know-how to set up a day system. then i decided i wanted to join my friend's fairy tale game jam that was going on at the time so i thought about which fairy tale could be woven in the story and cinderella felt most apt because of the christmas party being like the ball

but i would say OC is not super cinderella-y in terms of like, the potential fantasy fairy tale world, like with how alice in wonderland is with the main game, so i think that a cinderella fan game, especially one that was even more fairy tale-y, would still be super cute!
