knell of a requiem bell | a smutty spooky Jonerys fic | 👻
Happy Halloween! Enjoy this no plot smutty one shot.
Dany remained in a crumpled heap, her black and red gown thrown about her body, covering her in layers of lace and velvet. It was freezing, she realized, her body shivering. The adrenaline fading, she suspected, and she kept her eyes closed, forehead pressed to the cool stone floor, breath coming in sucking gasps. Oh gods, she wanted to sleep for days, she was drained.
But did it work?
She lifted her head gingerly, peering through wispy strands of her hair, focusing on the dim moonlight now filling the throne room without the candles to provide light. A light click echoed around her. Footsteps She blinked, seeing black boots in front of her. They were relatively shiny, expensive looking. They didn't seem like anything Rhaegar would be wearing, but...she didn't know what to expect from a returned soul to the earth. She didn't know how much time she had, and she lifted her head further, rolling her eyes upwards.
And stared straight into a set of piercing gray ones she had never seen before in her life.
Those gray eyes belonged to a man who stood about a foot from her, dressed in all black. Black boots, black skinny jeans, and a black-- really tight-- t-shirt. None of which had a speck of dust, which only made her slightly envious because she could never maintain that level of pristine fabric with three cats wandering around her house. The clothes weren't the only surprising feature, but also that he was, well...wow, she thought, taking in the sight of the skinny jeans painted on a pair of strong thighs, riding low on a trim waist, and the shirt pulling at the seams over a broad chest. A set of powerful arms crossed over his chest, biceps flexing. She kept looking up, she took in his pale, angular face, jaw swathed in a dark beard and loose dark curls that fell just to his shoulders, half of them tugged in a knot. He had a straight nose, which was currently wrinkled in the corners, and his lips– sinfully plump–were curled over sharp white teeth in a sneer of disgust.
The super hot stranger glared at her and opened his mouth, exclaiming:
"What the fuck am I doing here?"

Daenerys Targaryen is the first of her family to go to King's Landing Academy instead of being tutored at Dragonstone. As such, many noble boys are drawn to her like flies to honey. Except Jon Snow. Ned Stark's bastard, not caring about his social standing, tends to do whatever he wants. Drawn to him and desperate to get the boys off her back, she fabricates an affair with Jon, forcing the two to fake date to avoid backlash from their families. Their "dates" include riveting chess matches and coffee. And, of course, they start to catch real feelings.
A Jonerys Dark Academia/Modern Royals AU fic idea!

What's the deal with these BNFs like JoLa and such lmao? Sorry I wasn't chronically online during GOT so I had no idea this was a thing until recently LOL.
Oh man, nonny, you are really taking me back. BNFs or “Big Name Fans” are one of the worst aspects of ASOIAF/GOT fandom in my humble opinion. I think the fact that there has been such large gaps in between books, a lot of fans are really desperate for content and thus BNFs are created to fill that need for new ASOIAF content, their word only being surpassed by George. Most BNFs have one or two good takes/theories that got them big and then are uniformally idiots in everything else they say, but the fandom takes them as gospel because they’ve been around so long or were right about one really important thing. A lot of the biggest of the BNFs originated on the westeros.org forums and actually interacted occasionally with George back when he still did stuff like that, and now are considered authorities on the series. The most successful BNFs are probably Elio and Linda who now actually work with George and co-wrote AWOIAF with him (and they’ve had their own very stupid drama that I cannot be bothered to remember. @starkmaiden probably remembers it though. She’s my go to fandom drama lorist)
A lot of the worst but most widely accepted theories can be traced back to a BNF, and since the books have been so slow in coming, these theories ended up just becoming part of the fabric of the fandom. It also doesn’t help that most BNFs are absolute divas that hate it when they end up being wrong or having pushback. I remember rolling my eyes at BryndenBFish who had particularly influential (but often very dumb) theories who I believe left the fandom in a huff and deleted all his stuff. The worst BNF fans in my opinions are the ones who made super long videos or podcasts about the most inane details (I’m taking specifically about Lucifermeanslightbringer here since I ended up listing to like ten hours of the Bloodstone Compendium trying desperately to understand why he was so popular)
On tumblr during GoT, most of the BNFs here were part of the asoiafuniversity account, (including the lovely JoLa) which branded itself as neutral but was decidedly not lol, and had particular drama with people who asserted the Dark Dany theory, which ended up being true, lol. I think they even straight up banned contributions that supported “Mad Dany” at one point. Most BNFs tend to be pro-jonerys, pro-Tyrion, pro-Dany, intensely into Targaryen history (and weirdly a lot of them were really into Stannis before he bit it. The Stannis the Mannis faction was crazy but also kinda fun lol) I’ve always been pro-Bran, pro-Catelyn, and pro-Sansa, so I never really got too into the BNFs, but I did accept that Tyrion, Jon, and Dany were the three heads of the dragons before I read ADWD because everyone else seemed to think that was the case.
And that to me is the biggest problem with BNFs, that a lot of them still espose theories and takes that they came up with before AFFC/ADWD were published and they refuse to budge even though there’s clearly been a shift. (This was before the show ended, which changed a lot of the fandom landscape)
(I also think that a lot of them couldn’t analyze their way out of a paper bag, but that seems to just be me lol. The POV trap is very real for most of these people.)
I’ve also noticed that a lot of BNFs are also Wheel of Time fans, and sometimes use that series to theorize about the end of ASOIAF, which is uh, a strategy I guess. (I know George likes it and all but I think the series have very different vibes, and George has listed series he was drawing on and I don’t think WoT was on that list. Somebody somewhere compiled it, and I think LoTR and The Dragonbone Chair were on it.)
The greatest hits of the BNFs in my opinion are that Tyrion, Jon and Dany are the three heads of the dragon and are going to save the world, which was widely accepted as the ending to the series, by pretty much everyone who was anyone. Season 8 killed that stone dead though, big lol from me. Some people still believe it though for some reason. Some three heads of the dragon propenents also believed it in conjunction with the “Tyrion is secretly a Targaryen” theory which has like one piece of actual evidence, that Aerys had a thing for Joanna, and the weight of Tyrion is Tywin’s son thematic narrative against it.
My favorite offshoot of the three heads of the dragon theory is the curtain of light one, which is simply *chef’s kiss* Basically the curtain of light that Bran sees at the edge of the world is entirely literally and in no way a metaphor, and Bran will have nothing to do with it. Instead, Jon and Dany are going to fuck in the curtain of light to save the world while Tyrion awkwardly watches, and the baby they conceive will be the messiah. AMAZING stuff right there. And because this brilliant take was thought up by a BNF, it actually gained a fair amount of traction.
Other highlights include screeching about the “Main Five” in which they only grudgingly include Bran in order to exclude Sansa from having any relevance to the big endgame, that Catelyn is an absolute bitch responsible for all evils in the world, that Tywin is the biggest mastermind in Westeros, that f!Aegon is definitely fake with no room to debate, Val will be plot relevant to Jon somehow (as his future Queen for those who aren’t super into Jon and Dany endgame), Stannis will take WF, Jaime is going to be redeemed, and Azhor Ahai is some eleborate metaphor for the nature of the universe.
Say what you will, but BNFs really did fill some of the content void while we all wait for TWOW but a lot of them were absolutely batshit and their insane takes were taken extremely seriously by most of the fandom. Some of them even did rounds at conventions I believe. There are some BNFs still around and kicking but a lot of them left permanently after the show ended, which fair enough. The meltdowns during s8 were spectacular and many. Almost makes up for how shitty the show’s writing was lol.
My pet BNF was JoLa, and I even had some civil interactions with her about non Jonsa metas, related to her one good contribution to the fandom, the Dead Ladies Club. She had some of the wildest takes about Dany despite her constantly claiming she wasn’t that invested in non-Lannister theories and ships.
The BNFs were a fascinating phenomenon that you really had to experience in real time to get the full breadth of insanity. The most crazy takes being taken as basically canon really made me feel like I was losing it, or straight up reading different books.

ok I love your blog bc I love your opinions on the show/ books. As someone who ONLY watched the show and knows a little lore from the books, why are jonsas so crazy???? as far as I’m concerned Jon didn’t really think about Sansa (apart from some worry of her and Arya being in kings landing) until she showed up to castle black and then his happiness at that was because he was like shit I have a little piece of family back. I did not infer that to be romantic at all???? Where are they finding all this supposed subtext of them loving each other? 🤮 she also betrayed him by telling his secret that literally could’ve gotten him killed. How is that “love”
Its even funnier because Sansa in the books has never left the Vale since arriving. She is nowhere NEAR Jons story. Also they basically NEVER think about each other.
Like, Jon only ever thinks of her in terms of "my sisters" when hes lumping both her and Arya in together.
Sansa at first only ever thought about him in a derogatory way, because she was very classist about having a bastard brother and hardly respected him at all. Like wishing Arya was a bastard too so she wouldn't be obligated to care about her as much.
In the books currently she is in disguse as Petyr Baelish's bastard daughter, and only when anothet character talks down to her for being a bastard in the exact way Jons faced his whole life only then did she briefly go "why is he being mean is it cua he thinks I'm a bastard i hate that" without the self awareness that she treated Jon worse then that.
Also, Arya is said to look extremely similar to Jon, and Sansa who looks very Tully, constantly insults Aryas appearance and calling her "so ugly only Hodor would marry her". So what does that tell you what Sansa likely thinks of what Jon looks? Well she thinks Aryas ugly and even comments Arya looks just like Jon ergo she clearly thinks Jon is ugly. (Which is funny considering how many Northerners all say Jon is pretty and handsome).
Basically their interactions in the books is almost non existent, because despite Jon loving all his siblings he was always looked down on by Sansa because he isna bastard. They have no connection what so ever.
I mean in the show before season 6, they're only even in the same FRAME in the shots where all the Starks are lined up to receive the Kings Company and never again.
Their dynamic in season 6 is entirely show fabricated is based on literally nothing. Not from the show or the books. They literally just put Sansa with Jon because they wanted Sansa to be more of a main character and so its easier to do that if shes in Jons story since he is basically the shows protagonist at that point.
But Jonsas are fucking nuts. They point to the most batshit of claims to proove its real and when you look at their so called "evidence" its just a drunk hampster drooling in the floor. There is nothing.
They literally one passed around A LINE FROM A FANFICTION and pretended it was a book quote to justify their ship. They literally have to lie and pretend fanfiction lines are canon to the books thats how much they have to stretch their delusional ship to even remotely make it make sense.
But it doesn't. Cus Jon isn't into incest. So there is no relationship. Also Sansa in the show is nice to him for like 1 episode and then she repeatedly is hostile, argues, shits on him and breaks his trust repeatedly.
I hate pretty much all Jon ships because none of them respect Jon as a character, they just use him as arm candy to make the female look better. But jonsas are a toxic ass breed of shippers.
They genuinely will argue that every single Jon scene ia secretly about Sansa. Meanwhile they never argue every Sansa scene is about Jon.
Because Jon isn't the character they care about in that ship its ONLY Sansa.
It....I could go on for fucking ever.
I hate Jonerys, Jonrya and Jongritte stans. But I hate none of them more then I hate Jonsas. They clog up so much of Jon discussion spaces with their fucking delusional incest fanfiction.

Thanks for the reply! If we go by the show as you have mentioned the makers romanticized the relationships. GW and Missandei is not likely gonna happen in books because she is a child and had no connection with GW. Arya is still a child in books. Plus Gendry was given Edric Storm plot. I also don't think Braime will be a ship as it will be disservice to Brienne. Jaime is a villain. Daario loyalty towards Dany is still questionable unlike show.
Show also teased the audience with Yara-Dany, Yara-Ellaira and Brienne-Tormund which again don't make sense in books. Asha unlike her book counterpart is still in North and it's her uncle Victarion who is going to meet Dany in Meereen.
Then there are pairs which are not romantic but are develop because makers are sadists. Sansa-Ramsey and Cersei-Euron. Again these are not possible because Sansa was given Jeyne's plot and Euron is after Dany's dragons.
Makers already portrayed Jonerys as doomed relationship. Jonerys could be fanservice like other couples in show. Or it could happen but not in the way fans are expecting.
(Continuation of this convo)
I know it was a total D&D fabrication but Yara and Dany made way more sense to me than Jon and Dany! They we’re both ambitious and felt used/slighted by others because they were female, neither found conquering/violence a turn-off, and the actors had better chemistry. If only they went in that direction instead of…whatever the heck the other thing was. 😂
I think Jon and Dany must have some interaction but in such a limited space, it would be very difficult to sell it as any of kind genuine romance even if Martin wanted to. Not that I think he does. I assumed that Jon wishing for dragons and being warned of their danger, and Dany believing she will meet additional dragon riders, men she can trust, was prep for them meeting and Dany trusting Jon although he’s entirely loyal to the North the whole time, but I’m not sure how that could happen with everything else that also needs to happen!
I also do think he intends for a romance for Sansa and Jon of some kind but there are several paths that he could take there, and it’s really hard for me to see how any of them answer all the questions he’s presented/don’t cause their own problems and allow for Jon to go South for Targ stuff. 🤔

I believe D&D fabricated Jonerys too! I think Jon kills Dany in the books and D&D knew that Jon killing her would result in accusations of sexism so they thought making him sad about it would appease her fans. Genuinely think they didn’t even register they were playing into a horrible trope and even more horrifying, a sexist reality of men killing girlfriends or wives. They really wanted fans to buy it as a mutual tragedy rather than Jon having to kill a psycho because sorry, at that point, Dany was. The concerns about the audience reaction is probably why Jon couldn’t be against Dany being queen, they pushed that off on Sansa so it was a girl vs girl issue rather than a guy denying Dany her throne. Show Sansa being against Dany made a lot of sense for the reasons you already mentioned but I think it will be Jon against Dany in the books because of the precedent of Targaryens against Targaryens. Great video as always, btw!
Thanks! And I think it's a figment of their imagination as well obviously, but my theory behind it is a tad different. I actually don't think that Jon is going to be the one to kill Dany in the books, and I think the series at least partially put him in that position because if Jon isn't stopping Dany, then the character that the built up to be a great hero of the piece actually doesn't do anything all that heroic in the climax of the story. I also think that they put Jon and Dany together because it was what the audience expected, and because their relationship also painted Dany as more heroic and further masked their "big twist," because they altered literally EVERY major character around her to make her look better up until the very end. Like, the fact that Tyrion is on her team in the books seems like a very obvious indication that she's a villain because he's a villain, but they essentially made him into a hero in the TV show. And ultimately I think a lot of it was hugely driven by narrative convention. Jon and Dany is the type of shit people expect to happen, and although GRRM loves subversions, I think D&D got scared to hit the end of the road and not adequately satisfy the expectations of the audience. And of course, I obviously expect things to be radically different in the books.

I hope this ask goes through!! I've sent 4 or 5. Not your fault, but that's alright! I'll keep sending asks until I see a response! Secret Santa here, btw. I hope you're having a great week. Any idea what you would want as a gift? I write fic and would be open to writing just about anything (if you hit a squick i'll let you know). Anyway, I hope you're having a wonderful day!
Tumblr media
SANTAAAA FINALLY
Wow I hate this hellsite 😭😭😭 did I miss that many asks brb I'm gonna cry forever.
See, I never know what to ask for Christmas, that's my problem. I guess I want modern AU. Do you have any ideas yet?
I love cheating fics (in which Jonerys cheat with each other on their significant other)... but I know this fandom is not the most forgiving when it comes to those.
I love mystery. I love angst, but as long as it's not just fabricated of the sake of the drama.
I love the enemies to lovers trope. The arranged marriage one. The villain and superhero trope. Just... all the tropes 😂 have I also mentioned arranged marriage? Also I'm a big fan of myths and legends and other fabulous stories.
I love a good Christmas story, the type that you'd tell people/read in front of the fire with a cup of mulled wine.
I love book Jon so so much. And book Dany. Must protecc them at all costs. In my fics I always try to emulate book Jonerys.
I also love crack fics. If you have a crack fic idea, go for it. I enjoy writing them, but I enjoy even more reading them.
I love it when fics have a good dose of realism. I mean realistic sex, realistic experiences and irl second hand embarrassment. I'm a bit shy and awkward and when the characters I read about get themselves into the type of situation I get myself into, it just makes me laugh even more.
I could go on and on and on. I talk a lot irl too, I promise.
All I want for Christmas is... anything you'd be comfortable writing. I guess it's not as catchy.
I hope at least something from this is helpful to you!
My week is already too busy, I cannot wait for it to be over. How are you, Santa?

The amazingly talented @boku-no-tokyo-ghoul made these gorgeous aesthetics for my Pirate Queen Daenerys. I have no words for how amazing these are. They capture my Daenerys’ essence exactly. This is the best gift ever. I tried to find a quote to add from the fic itself, but I couldn’t find one that could do these works of art justice. So I added an entire scene from the fic instead. Heads up, it’s a Jonerys fic.
A Storm In The North
Jon finds the Pirate Queen standing over the Painted Table, a ringed hand trailing along the Eastern shore. She’s put on another colorful skirt but still wears no coat, her upper body draped in nothing but golden jewelry. When Jon manages to tear his eyes away from the parts of her he really shouldn’t be looking at, he finds that Daenerys Targaryen lacks the exuberance she exhibited yesterday. Instead she's pensive, solemn even. Her eyes follow the path her hand trails along the coast.
Her hand halts on King’s Landing.
“How many people live in King’s Landing?”
Jon stills at the unexpected question. While he’d made no move to keep his approach hidden, he’d assumed the Pirate Queen to be too lost in thought to have noticed his arrival. She’d given no reaction to his presence after all.
Perhaps she believes him to be someone else?
“I’ve heard the city is home to over half a million souls,” he replies. Judging from Daenerys Targaryen’s continuing lack of reaction, he was wrong in assuming she thought him to be someone else.
“Shouldn’t a King know how many people are under his rule?” she asks with vague amusement, but her eyes remain locked onto King’s Landing.
“I know how many people the North holds.”
Not enough to defeat the dead.
The Pirate Queen acknowledges his words with a hum, her attention never straying from the Painted Table. Tyrion said she wasn’t interested in the Iron Throne, but seeing her focus on King’s Landing like this...
“Are you planning to claim the Iron Throne?” Try to claim, at least.
Daenerys Targaryen lifts her gaze, storm grey eyes meeting his own. Her expression is closed off in a way that makes him shift his footing to a more battle ready stance, prepared for the situation to turn hostile. It’s instinct more than anything else that makes him react like this. He doesn’t truly believe she’ll attack him.
He'd be a fool not to prepare for the possibility of it happening.
Daenerys Targaryen shifts her own footing in kind, taking on a battle ready stance as well. It’s clear her reaction is an unconscious one, though. She returns her gaze to King’s Landing.
“...No. Reclaiming the Seven Kingdoms was my brother’s dream.”
She holds a different one. The question is, what is her dream?
Or rather, does her dream pose a threat to the North?
Daenerys Targaryen lifts her hand from King’s Landing and strides towards him. Halting next to him, she leans against the table, close enough to force Jon to tilt his head down to meet her eyes. Despite his best efforts, he fails to keep his eyes from straying down further.
How is she not cold walking around like this?
When he manages to drag his gaze away from her bare skin and meet her eyes again, he finds the Pirate Queen’s lips quirked up in a faint smile, amusement brightening the storm of her eyes. She’s aware of the effect her state of undress has on people. She simply doesn’t care. Neither does she use her appearance as a weapon. There's nothing purposely seductive about her stance. The opposite, now that Jon has managed to shake off most of the distraction posed by her bare skin, he realizes she’s positioned herself so she can kick out his knee. Jon shifts his weight so he’ll be able to block without losing his balance.
The Pirate Queen’s smile grows.
“Tell me about yourself, Jon Snow, King in the North,” she orders while hopping onto the table. The change in position means she’ll be able to kick his chest with both her feet. While his armor would catch the worst of the blow, she'd still send him crashing to the floor if she used both her feet.
“Not much to tell,” he says while taking a step back. Getting out of her reach. Her kick would still land, but she won’t have the leverage needed to throw him to the floor. He could take another step back and leave her range completely, but this way he can grab her legs and drag her off the table. That would end the fight before it can turn lethal.
“I highly doubt that,” she returns while lifting a leg and placing her foot on the edge of the table. Ready to lunge at him instead of kicking him.
Her raised leg puts her in a truly indecent position. The only thing protecting her modesty is the silk pooling between her thighs.
“I’m not here to fight you,” he says while changing his footing so he can throw her over his shoulder should she lunge for him.
Daenerys Targaryen raises a brow as amused as it is pointed, the glance she gives his feet an unnecessary addition to her silent message. She also shifts her center of gravity so she’ll be able to grab his cloak in her lunge. Preventing him from throwing her over his shoulder without her using the fabric against him.
With great reluctance, Jon forces himself to assume his previous position instead of rolling his shoulders to get his cloak out of the way. It leaves him uncomfortably open to attack, but someone has to make the first move to end the near battle they’ve somehow ended up in. He meant it when he said he isn’t here to fight her.
Doesn’t mean he won’t defend himself.
Daenerys Targaryen gains a grin that's both amused and contains a little too many teeth, before she lets her leg fall open. Lowering her guard and showing she holds no intention to attack him either. For now, at least.
Her new position is even more indecent than her previous one. She sits as a boy in breeches would, except she's a woman whose only articles of clothing consists of a skirt more suited as an undergarment.
She's a woman with remarkably firm thighs. The left of which holds a scar that disappears beneath the scrap of fabric covering her. Jon wonders just how far it goes.
“Why are you here, Jon Snow?”
“I could ask you the same thing,” he counters, shaking off his momentary distraction. Even now that she’s no longer wired to attack, he remains on guard. The Pirate Queen has a reputation for mayhem and murder after all. “You and your people are the ones who appeared out of nowhere.”
“I suppose I should have been more specific,” Daenerys Targaryen says with a too sharp smile. “Why have you come to see me, Jon Snow?”
Jon swallows down an instinctive denial. Not only is the urge to lie ridiculous but it would serve no purpose. There’s no reason for anyone to come to Dragonstone but to speak with her.
“I wish to ask something.” The problem is he’s still unsure whether doing so would be a wise choice. Even more unsure than before in fact. Their interaction until now hasn’t exactly inspired confidence in her sanity.
It has, however, revealed that Daenerys Targaryen is dangerous even without her Dragons. Or without her people for that matter.
“What is it you wish to ask?” Daenerys Targaryen returns, tilting her head and watching him with curiosity. The sight is oddly reminiscent of how her Dragons watched him.
Jon hesitates. He wants, needs really, her aid in the fight against the dead. But only if she isn't her father’s daughter.
If she's her father’s daughter, asking for her aid might destroy the North before the dead ever arrive.
“Why have you come to Westeros?” he settles on. It’s not what he came to ask, true, but the little time he’s spend within her presence has revealed that the question is vital if he is to even consider asking for aid.
Daenerys Targaryen gives him a look that shows she is well aware this wasn’t his original question, but she answers nonetheless. Or rather, she gives a reply.
“To find an answer.”
Frustration rises at the words that clarify nothing.
“An answer to what?” he demands, unable to keep the annoyance from his voice. He doesn’t have time for games.
“Answer my question and perhaps I'll answer yours,” Daenerys Targaryen counters with another too sharp smile, but even with the hint of danger, it's clear that she's enjoying herself.
It annoys Jon even further. This is no laughing matter. Jon doesn't say so, though. Instead he lets out a slow breath and reigns in his temper. It takes him a moment to figure out what question she wants him to answer, but when he realizes which one she's referring to, his annoyance grows.
Jon doesn’t enjoy talking about himself.
“I’m the bastard son of Ned Stark of Winterfell. I was a Brother of the Nightwatch, then I was made King in the North.”
There, that summarizes everything relevant about himself. Daenerys Targaryen can ask for no more.
He’ll not tell her more.
His answer seems to amuse the Pirate Queen greatly, her smile losing the edge of danger and her storm grey eyes dancing with mirth.
She’s beautiful.
He really needs to gain control over his attraction to this woman.
Daenerys Targaryen’s mirth fades. She turns her head to look at King’s Landing and shows a mixture of too many emotions to parse. Jon can name but one with certainty.
Daenerys Targaryen is afraid.
“I came here to find out whether or not I can avoid becoming a monster.”
The words catch him off guard completely. Whatever he was expecting her to be here for, it wasn’t this.
“...Why do you fear you're becoming one?” he asks, deciding that's is the most important thing to know. He's careful to keep his wariness hidden but it's definitely there. Her fearing she's becoming a monster doesn’t indicate a stable state of mind.
It indicates at least part of her is still sane. The monsters Jon has known never wondered whether or not they were evil, never mind feared it. Either they knew and didn’t care, or they were convinced they were in the right. Daenerys Targaryen seems neither.
She seems to not just understand but to care about the difference between good and evil. Most important of all, she seems to desire to be good. Jon feels some of his tension leave at this positive indicator of her being sane enough to ask for aid.
“I murdered thousands of people.”
This, on the other hand, makes it impossible to forget he’s speaking to the Mad King’s Daughter.
“I burned down their homes and made the streets run red. I didn’t care about the innocents, didn’t care my actions lead to their deaths. All I cared about was vengeance.”
When the Pirate Queen meets his gaze again, her fear is even greater than before.
“What if it happens again?”
Jon waits for her to say more, but she doesn’t. She truly expects him to answer that? Even ignoring that he's a stranger to her, he has no idea what she is talking about. The destruction of Slaver’s Bay, he assumes, but even if he's right, he doesn’t have enough information about what happened to form a definitive judgement.
“What caused it to happen in the first place?” he decides to return, figuring that to be the best place to start.
Daenerys Targaryen’s fear disappears. What takes its place causes him to reach for Longclaw on instinct, his body readying itself for battle.
The look the Mad King's Daughter gives him is harsh and brutal, not a trace of mercy to be found.
Her eyes burn with a rage that would consume the world.
“The Masters wished for war. I gave them one.”
Jon is starting to understand why Tyrion warned him against angering the Mother of Dragons. Were it not for her Dragons, he'd abandon the idea of asking for her aid altogether. As it is, he’s not willing to give up just yet.
He’s not willing to ask for her aid yet either.
“Do you think me a monster, Jon Snow?” Daenerys Targaryen asks in a measured voice, but the fire raging in her eyes turns the question into a threat.
“I think,” he says slowly, choosing his answer with care, “that fearing you're becoming a monster is a right step to not becoming one.”
He truly does believe that. He also believes that merely fearing yourself to be turning into a monster isn't enough to keep yourself from becoming one. But it’s a good start.
Of course, fearing you're becoming a monster also means you’ve done enough terrible things to start thinking yourself a monster in the first place.
Daenerys Targaryen softens, the fire leaving her eyes and the threat of violence fading away. She looks back at King’s Landing.
“I hope so. But even if it is, it isn't enough.”
No, it’s not. The fact she recognizes that is another indicator of her not being mad as her father was.
Not yet at least.
Daenerys Targaryen hops off the table and strides towards the open balcony. Jon stares at her back, thoughts momentarily scattered by shock. Daenerys Targaryen’s hair covers much of her back but not all.
It doesn’t cover the patchwork of scars that could’ve come from only one thing.
Daenerys Targaryen has been whipped. Brutally so.
“Come find me when you’re ready to ask whatever it is you wish to ask of me, Jon Snow,” she says without halting her confident movements, the sound of her voice allowing him to regain his wits. He meets her gaze when she looks over her shoulder, her lips curved in a faint smile. “Or when you’re ready to tell me more about yourself.”
Daenerys Targaryen returns her gaze forward and reaches the edge of the open balcony.
She jumps off the cliff without a single hesitation, the procession of movement so natural Jon only realizes what she's doing after her feet have already left the ground. He’s already running after her when he hears the sound of something impossibly large moving through the air, but he doesn’t slow down until he’s reached the balcony and can see for himself that the Pirate Queen landed on one of her Dragons instead of falling to her death below.
Jon wills his racing heart to slow down as he watches the Black Dragon fly out to sea, Daenerys Targaryen’s bright hair easily visible against its dark scales.
Daenerys Targaryen is mad.
Jon lets out a harsh breath and brings up a hand to rub the back of his neck, as conflicted as he is exasperated. He came here to determine for himself whether or not the Pirate Queen could be asked for aid. He’s failed spectacularly at that. She’s mad, that much is more than clear, but whether her madness prevents her from being a potential ally? That Jon has no answer for. Her madness is different from that of her father, but he doesn't yet know if it's worth putting up with for the chance of gaining the aid of her Dragons.
He needs to speak with Tyrion.
Turning around, Jon leaves the chamber with the intention to do just that. He truly hopes Tyrion will be able to clarify once and for all whether or not he should abandon the idea of asking the Pirate Queen for aid.
One thing is for certain. Daenerys Targaryen certainly lives up to her reputation as the Mad King’s Daughter.

Excerpt:
The days grew short as the full fury of Winter struck King’s Landing in blanket upon blanket of snow. So much snow had fallen in a fortnight that it would be well above the heads of small children. Activity in the capital ground to a halt as the city tucked in for what promised to be one of the harshest Winters since the year Ned was born.
Alysanne had once loved the snow, but now soured at the sight of so much of it. Until the latest blizzard, men would shovel paths around the garden and lay down sand so that she might walk around, carefully holding onto one of Ned’s arms. Even the mighty Blackwater froze over. In their youth Ned and Alys had skated upon the ice, now it was only a distant memory and the young mother-to-be was growing increasingly restless.
It was easy to see her home as a prison when she was no longer permitted to walk about outside. Snow had fallen faster than the servants could keep it shoveled and, despite the sand laid down, Ned still worried that she would slip upon a patch of ice and fall. She felt fat, lazy, and impatient, even melancholic due to the lack of hours of sunlight that normally filtered through her windows. She even became cross with Ned when he would return from hunting with their father, all pink cheeked and smiling as he tried to press his cold red nose into the crook of her neck.
But she could never stay angry with him for long, not when he would so graciously rub the cramps and soreness from her feet, calves, and lower back. If she must spend the last month of her pregnancy officially retired from court life and in confinement, at least she had her husband and dear sister and nephew to pass her time with.
“Rickon, don’t pull Zokla’s fur like that,” she warned the child. He had turned three the previous sennight and he looked at her out of the corner of his eye as if he had just been caught sneaking a sweet. “He doesn’t like that.”
“I will pet him nice,” Rickon replied and patted the direwolf’s head.
“They grow so fast,” Rhaenys noted.
“Children or direwolves?” Alys asked, making her sister laugh.
“Both, but I was talking about the direwolf.”
“I know, but Father said Ghost grew quickly as well. How are you feeling?”
“Miserable.”
“At least we’re miserable together.”
“Would you be miserable if you weren’t cooped up indoors?”
“Indoors? I’m scarcely permitted to leave my chambers. Sometimes I say I’m going to the sept in front of the Maidenvault just as an excuse to move about.”
“The Seven won’t like that.”
“If the Mother is Mother to us all, then certainly she knows how I must feel.”
At night, Ned would join her after he had eaten supper with their parents and sister. He would bring her little gifts. Some days it was a new book, freshly sent from the Citadel. Other days it was an extra sweet from the kitchen. Once he brought her an ice cold pewter bowl and when she looked inside she found a melting, but perfectly formed snowball. He had taken his shirt off and stood at the foot of her bed, beckoning her to throw it at him. His wife’s aim was superb and she hit him squarely in the chest.
But of all of the nights, Alysanne’s favorites were the nights when Ned would bring his harp and sing for her. He was accomplished at any instrument with strings, but like his grandsire, he favored the harp. Although he knew his talent, he hated performing for gatherings of people, save for his sister. He lay with his head in her lap while he played a sad winter song about the kingdom being so cold it was as hard as iron and water was like a stone. It was a Northern song, but there was a grace to how he sang it that almost made her weep. When he finished he set his harp down on the bed and held his hand out to her. She placed her hand in his and squeezed it.
“Is there a Small Council meeting tomorrow?”
“There is,” he nodded.
“Then don’t you usually play cards with Aemon on this night?”
“He can lose his money to me another night. I told him I was otherwise occupied.”
“You didn’t have to do that,” Alys said quietly as she played with his hair. He turned his head towards her belly and kissed it through the fabric of her nightgown.
“You know I’d rather spend time with you over Aem any day.”

A Most Inappropriate Regal Romp
Tumblr media
Written for “A Dream of Spring” - Jonerys Week Summer 2018
Day 4: Assassination Attempt || The Royal Portraits || Quickies in Inappropriate Places
Warning: Mature
Summary: Jon is looking high and low for his Queen and once he finds her, one things leads to another.
Read it on ao3: here
Excerpt:
She sighed, standing up and pulling him with her.  “A Queen’s work is never done,” she said, laughing softly in spite of herself.  “Let’s go back to the castle.  I’m sure the children are missing us.”
Jon followed her out of Silver’s stall but then gently pulled her into another one that was empty and full of freshly laid hay.  “I’m sure they won’t mind if we stay here a bit longer,” he murmured, drinking her in with his eyes as desire coursed through him.  He sat down on a pile of hay and pulled her towards him, palming her ass through the silk fabric of her dress.
Daenerys had a look of disbelief on her face.  “You can’t be serious, Jon.  Here?  In a stable?  This is entirely unfitting for the King and Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.”
“Let’s pretend we aren’t royals then,” Jon said, his voice thick with lust...

Book fAegon/Aegon VI as foreshadowing for Jonerys pt. 1
The Lost Lord, ch. 24, A Dance With Dragons
And then Prince Aegon spoke. “Then put your hopes on me,” he said. “Daenerys is Prince Rhaegar’s sister, but I am Rhaegar’s son. I am the only dragon that you need.”
Griff put a black-gloved hand upon Prince Aegon’s shoulder. “Spoken boldly,” he said, “but think what you are saying.”
“I have,” the lad insisted. “Why should I go running to my aunt as if I were a beggar? My claim is better than her own. Let her come to me … in Westeros.”
Franklyn Flowers laughed. “I like it. Sail west, not east. Leave the little queen to her olives and seat Prince Aegon upon the Iron Throne. The boy has stones, give him that.”
The captain-general looked as if someone had slapped his face. “Has the sun curdled your brains, Flowers? We need the girl. We need the marriage. If Daenerys accepts our princeling and takes him for her consort, the Seven Kingdoms will do the same. Without her, the lords will only mock his claim and brand him a fraud and a pretender.
Tumblr media
This has been said many times in many different ways but with Jon being a “secret” Targaryen, it would be unlikely the rest of the lords of Westeros will acknowledge him as Rhaegar and Lyanna’s trueborn son. There is no written record of his birth, only of Rhaegar and Lyanna’s marriage. The Southern lords could see Jon trying to press his claim (which it’s unlikely he’ll do anyway as he didn’t even want to be KITN), as some power-hungry bastard son of Ned Stark with some made up story to try to take the Iron Throne for himself.
(Also why J0nsa doesn’t need to happen and can’t happen because the lords of the South could see it as Jon trying to come up with some ridiculous far-fetched story just so he can bang his sister)
There are only three people in the world who know Jon is Rhaegar and Lyanna’s son - his brother Bran, Samwell Tarly, and Howland Reed. It’s uncertain whether we will see Howland Reed in the show but regardless, these three are not reliable sources. Bran, being Jon’s brother, could just be claiming this because he loves Jon and would do whatever he says. Sam is Jon’s best friend. And Howland is a northern lord. None of them could be trusted to be reliable for those who aren’t from the North and it could be argued this story is just fabricated as a way for the North to take more influence in the politics of the South.
Now, many people argue that Jon will be elected King of the Seven Kingdoms as he was elected King in the North because he will fight in the War for the Dawn and save everyone. But I believe this is unlikely as well. The Seven Kingdoms were in peril when Aerys II sat the throne. Many believed him unfit to rule, etc. But still, people were uncomfortable with Robert Baratheon taking the throne for himself and he still had to use his ties to the Targaryen line to back his claim to the throne.
Also, though it’s likely the War for the Dawn will reach the South - the Gods Eye many speculate, King’s Landing even, there are still several Kingdoms the War for the Dawn will likely not reach - Dorne, the Westerlands, the Reach, and the Stormlands (not counting the Vale because KotV are already in the North readying for the fight). That’s four Kingdoms of the Seven (really eight with the Crownlands but whatever), that will not really be part of this epic event. And with the Southern Lords being as prejudice and wary of outsiders as they are - Randyll Tarly case in point - they won’t want some Northerner known for being a bastard, letting wildlings through The Wall, and abandoning his post in the Night’s Watch, as their king.
The Seven Kingdoms are definitely going to see some wreckage with the War for the Dawn next season. There’s no doubt about that. Cersei will likely kick the bucket one way or another. But just because the Seven Kingdoms will be war-torn, doesn’t mean they will suddenly switch from feudal system to a democracy overnight. Daenerys will be the only one left with any real claim to the throne and because she is a known Targaryen, she will be more easily accepted than a secret one.
This is why, in order for Jon to be recognized as a Targaryen, he needs Daenerys. With Daenerys acknowledging him as her brother’s son, Rhaegar’s trueborn heir, the rest of the country will have to do the same (even if they still think it’s far-fetched, they couldn’t question their queen).
Now, will Jon change his name to Aegon? Unlikely. Will Jon and Dany even be alive at the end? Who knows. But one thing is for sure. In order for Jon to have any claim to the Iron Throne whatsoever that the common people will acknowledge, he’s got to marry Daenerys.

wicked words | chapter 2 | teaser
For @snowxstormworld Jonerys Summer Lovin 2k22 Day 4: Historical, I had planned to post chapter 2 of the fic but sadly life got in the way and it isn’t done yet. I also had a very bad day which ended in a scary moment where I thought I was going to die (no exaggeration here, this is the US, there’s crazy loose cannons everywhere) and almost forgot entirely but here’s a teaser. Sorry that was long winded but I’m still trying to distract my mind.
Dany went to a massive trunk against the foot of the bed, kneeling and unclasping the buckles. He shivered. They needed a fire. He shook off his sodden overcoat and draped it on a chair to dry, moving to kneel in front of the hearth. He tried not to think about Dany moving around behind him, about how they’d need to take off their wet clothes or they’d catch a cold.
He swallowed hard, his cold, numb fingers fumbling with the flint from his pocket. It was dry enough but took several tries until a spark caught on the kindling in the hearth. It went up in smoke and he swore. “This shit is too old.”
“I found some wood. Here.” He glanced over his shoulder. Dany was coming down from the loft, a couple logs in her arms. She sighed. “We should put it in the stove.”
“We need to get warm fast.”
“The stove will do that.”
“The hearth will.”
She dropped the wood at his feet with a loud clatter, throwing her arms in the air. “Fine! You do it then!” She began to jerk at her coat and the buttons on her blouse.
He froze. “What are you doing?”
“I’m taking off these wet garments. I’m freezing.”
“But…”
She stopped and smirked at him. “Relax Jon. The trunk there has blankets and some linens. Get the fire going.”
He felt stupid. He was on edge. He was acutely aware they were stuck in a tiny one room cottage with one bed, limited blankets, and were both soaking wet and in need of warmth. He swallowed hard, closing his eyes and willing his body to cooperate. He knelt at the fire again and fussed with dry straw, the wood, and the grate, until there was a crackling, roaring flame.
It warmed the small room quickly, but he was starting to shiver, his wet clothes kept on too long. He stood and tugged off his boots and pulled his shirt free of his trousers. He wasn’t thinking about decorum right now, he needed the sticking wet garment off. He draped it on the chair with his coat and hers, moving it towards the hearth to dry. It was still cold and he shivered again, figuring he’d wrap in a blanket. He’d have to figure what to do with his trousers once he had coverage.
Because the other option…well…he couldn’t think about it. He steeled himself and turned around. When he did, he caught Dany, who had an arm full of blankets from the trunk, watching him.
Well.
Well then indeed.
His lips twitched. He flashed a smile, gesturing to his bare chest. “See something you like?”
“No!”
Her cheeks might have been red from embarrassment, or the fire, or even the cold. Except her eyes were still focused on him and her pupils had dilated so wide he barely saw violet in them. He turned and walked towards her slowly, reaching to take a blanket from her. He intended to wrap it over his shoulders, wondering if she was thinking something else.
Neither one of them said anything; he heard her breath hitch, throat muscles cording in her slim neck. Her breasts rose and fell quickly against her bodice, the swells of them visible barely over top the loosened fabric. He dropped his gaze to her swollen red lips. She’d been biting them. She only did that when she was nervous.
“Dany,” he murmured. His fingers closed over the blankets.
She shook her head and dropped the blankets in her arms, unable to keep composed. His heart leaped up, strangling the breath from him. This was happening. “Shut up Jon,” she gasped, arms lunging up, grabbing the back of his head, fingers wrapping through damp tendrils of his hair, and pulled him against her.
For once, Jon abided her command, and shut up.

Along the Riverbank and Under the Stars
A Jonerys au
Daenerys Targaryen always wanted adventure but she never imagined her life forever being altered like this.
After her ship is wrecked Daenerys wakes up stranded and lost in the jungles of South Africa. Only equipped with what she could salvage from the wreak she finds herself alone and surrounded by danger all around her. Until she meets Jon Snow another human who has been living in the jungle all his life. Intrigued by the jungle man Daenerys befriends Jon in hopes he can help her find her way back home. Growing closer Daenerys teaches Jon of her world as Jon Jon shows her his. Opening her eyes to all the wonders of the safari life Daenerys will discover a whole new world with Jon. Daenerys soon finds herself falling for Jon more and more with each passing day. Now torn between wanting to return back to civilization or staying with Jon in their own world of paradise. Daenerys will have to make a choice on whether or not she can be really be free among the wildlife or again be caged by man.
She was impossibly thirsty. Her throat itchy and dry Daenerys stumbled about her feet aching more and more with each step. She dragged the trunk that she salvaged from the ship wreak it’s weight slowing her down. Daenerys knew she should have let it but it was the only thing she had of hers and she hadn’t clue if she would ever see other life ever again. She had to find fresh water she could feel her body start to shut down and she knew if she closed her eyes they would not reopen. Shuddering a breath Daenerys continued walking. It was late in the evening when she finally heard the most glorious sound.
Rushing water.
Dropping her trunk Daenerys ran over to the riverbank immediately scooping up a handful of water and began drinking it all. Forgetting to look around her Daenerys continued to slurp down to fresh water. After she became full Daenerys started to wash herself. Dipping her head in the water she quickly shot back up she water dripping down her back. Sighing contentedly for the first time since the wreak she sat back her heels watching the moving water. But she couldn’t stay long the sunlight around her was dimming rapidly and she had to find a safe place to rest. Standing up Daenerys didn’t even hear the low growl coming from behind her. Slowly turning her head Daenerys see the yellow of a 70 pound something leopard staring back at her. Gulping she only had two options. One to jump into the river and start to swim away but she remembered reading that leopards were fond of swimming so that idea was moot. Her second option was to grab one of the large branches that laid along the riverside and fight her way out.
That didn't seem like much of a better option. But she knew what she had to do.
As slowly as she could Daenerys bent down while also keeping her eyes on the large cat. Snatching a branch Daenerys held it up as the leopard bared its teeth at her as it moved towards her. Ready to swing away a load yell came from the other side of her. Shock overcame her as a man swung down from the trees and landed in front of her. Standing between her and the leopard the man was holding a makeshift spear with a sharped rocked as its point. The man stuck his arms out to signal her to stay back back didn’t have to be told twice as she watched him circle the carnivore his spear ready to strike.
She was then surprised to hear him hiss at the leopard and it growled back at him. Faster then she could have blinked the leopard sprang at them with its claws out but the man was ready. Using his spear to stop the leopards teeth from sinking into him the man used all his strength and tackled the leopard to the ground. Daenerys wanted to help but the man only yelled at her to stay put. She could only watch as the leopard and the man wrestled around fighting to the death. His spear broken now the man was using his brute strength to fight the animal off. It had gotten darker making it difficult to tell apart who was the animal and who was the man. Growls and grunts filled her ears until she heard a snap and a groan but she wasn’t sure who it came from.
For a moment she thought she saw the leopard start to stand back up to finish her off but she quickly let out the breath she was holding as she saw her savior push off the carnivore off of him.
She could dimly see him under the moonlight. His naked chest gleaming with sweat and blood. Dark hair in disarray and body tense Daenerys slowly held her hand up to show him she was friendly.
“You’re hurt” She pointed to the gash on his shoulder that her didn't seem to notice. His whole body still as she slowly approached him Daenerys stopped until she was standing right in front of him. From where she stood she could look into his eyes. Dark as the night sky but surprisingly gentle as he gazed down at her Daenerys couldn’t help but be amazed at the sight of him. He wasn’t a tall man but Daenerys was still smaller than him. Visibly well built his chest rippled with muscles and ridges that was tempting to touch. But that wasn’t important now Daenerys needed to clean his wound before it started to fester and get infected. She gently took his hand and didn’t protest as she lead him the river. Sitting on the edge Daenerys pulled him down so she could examine his gash further. Luckily it wasn’t to deep so all she had to do was clean it and prevent it from getting infected. Ripping the all ready torn piece of her dress she dipped the fabric in the water and began to dab the drying blood off of him. He was quiet as Daenerys worked on his wound only giving the occasional grunt of discomfort.
“Sorry I’m not very good medic” She apologized lamely meeting his dark eyes once more but he just blinked not saying anything as she finished cleaning the wound.
“Alright I think that should do it” Daenerys said with a small smile trying to lighten the mood. The man gave her a nod of gratitude before standing up leaving her to watch him to pick his broken spear.
“Can you speak English?” She asked getting up and walking up to him.
“Do you have a name?” The just man ignored her. Getting annoyed now she stepped in front of him blocking his way.
“I’m very grateful that you saved my life but that doesn’t mean you can be rude and ignore me” The man’s lip perked up in an almost smile as Daenerys stood her ground. He then stepped closer shielding Daenerys with his body making her gulp as the heat of his body radiated of him sending a shiver down her spine. He placed his hands on both her cheeks caressing each one with the pad his thumbs. His eyes held curiosity and wonder as he stared at her. Daenerys figured she was probably the first human woman he had ever seen. She found herself not minding his close proximity but actually enjoying it. Daenerys had to admit to herself that he was very handsome. A bearded face that had it fair share of scars and curly black hair that would have made every girl back home jealous. But what seemed to draw her to him was his eyes. Soulful and intense they held her gaze as if he wasn’t just looking at her but into her as if looking into her very soul. No he wasn’t handsome.
He was beautiful.
Finally mustering her courage she spoke softly “Who are you?” He still held her face between his hands his eyes falling to her lips making her shudder in want or fear she wasn’t sure. Her eyes darted over his face trying to determine on what his intentions were but all he did was stare at her. Daenerys sighed and began to pull away but that’s when he finally answered.
“My...name..is...Jon”
Whoa! I did it! I had this in my drafts for months! Debating on if I should work on this or not. But I’m so glad I did. I don’t know what came over me but I just had to write this out and finish it. I hope you enjoyed.

She was always there Jon could not remember a time where she was not in his dream, or even his nightmares.
When his ghostly friend was more than a child's play, and more of a guardian angel; one that led him to the truth, to her.
It was not the first time Ghost’s eyes had been his own, wolf dreams, as Old Nan would say. He didn’t think of himself as a warg, for he could not warg himself into his direwolf whenever he wanted, it was more like a connection they had, called upon whenever needed. That night…It seemed needed.
She was in his chambers, looking upon him. A beautiful, but sad Lady. He knew her, he had seen her before. Her eyes were anything but strange, yet he could not remember where he knew it from. But her face? It felt like a distant memory, one he barely had.
Her presence, though, had been constant all his life. His shadow friend.
When was the last time he had seen her?
He felt her the night before the Battle, her smell was there, at his tend. He felt that same scent when they buried Rickon and Sansa was holding his hand so tightly, she could have broken it.
She turned her back and ran outside. He ran to her, she was fast, he felt his paws heavy and fast, but never fast enough. It was dark outside, and instead of the cold of the snow they fell, it felt warm. Instead of the horses outside or the sounds of the night, his wolf ears heard waves, and saw light.
Winterfell was far from White Harbor, far from Eastwatch by the Sea, no ocean for miles and miles at all directions, yet, the sounds danced in his ears.
The Lady ran as no human should, let alone a frail looking woman, but Ghost could not reach her. When they reached the Godswood, he was not Ghost anymore, and it was not the North, but the entrance to a cave. His friend was no more, but a shorter woman: long, braided blonde, almost white haired woman. She was dressed in a black dress, with black trousers beneath. He could see she wore a silver chain crossing her chest, and a long fabric in her shoulder. Her chain sparkled in the light of the sun that burned bright in that strange place, just like the stones he could see everywhere in the cave. Chunks of sparkle, if he did not know they were on the floor, he would say she was standing in the sky. She entered the cave, he looked behind him, and he could only see the beach and the stones surrounding him. He followed the woman, but before he could reach her, his friend was behind him, holding him back.
 Welcome home, Jon.

Note
Do you think after seeing the mess that was jonerys grrm decided that he would better do not make it happen and go full ally turned enemy without any incest factor? Imagine both Jon n Dany despised each other from their first meet, reluctantly agreed to be allied which botched by Dany temperament and Jon parentage reveal making them enemies. Also Jon will be like I hope this dragon queen leave me alone so I can have lemoncakes time with my half sister/ cousin.
I need to take a moment to enjoy the beauty of that closer. lmao!
We won’t know exactly what Martin’s plans for Jon/Dany are until we get the books, but I don’t think there is any way he would change them because of the show. He has dedicated a huge chunk of his life to this series, and I don’t think he will allow D&D’s failure to push him off course. He isn’t going to redirect to cater to the whims of fans either.
We don’t know what D&D were told, what they disregarded, what they reinterpreted until it had no meaning, or what they included that wasn’t part of Martin’s vision. Were s7-8 a really bad adaptation because they left out important characters/mischaracterized the rest, or did they take an entirely different route? Martin called GoT a faithful adaptation (x), but we know how much D&D deviated from the existing books, so that doesn’t mean jxnerys is a given. If it doesn’t happen, that wouldn’t be because Martin changed his mind, it would just prove that D&D fabricated it to hide Dark Dany.
If the story is about getting Dany North, I do think incest will factor in because I think it makes sense for Dany to fall in love and Jon use that to get the help he needs to save the world. I say that because she has her romantic tendencies that leave her vulnerable. She craves love. She wants to be the maiden who is rescued. (It always amuses me when people hate on Sansa for her interest in stories when we have Dany daydreaming about this scenario but anyway...). Jon isn’t like Daario, but, depending on what Dany hears/believes him to be, Martin could write a one-sided romance. I certainly don’t think Jon would be into it, but it could be he feels he doesn’t have the option of refusing her.
The problem is, Dany is gonna take a while to get to Westeros, so it’s really hard to imagine the timeline that would allow her to go North to fight the Others and then go South and burn KL. And, if she burns KL first, I don’t see how Jon could think going to her is an option. We also have Aegon to think about. They kinda were using Jon for something that Aegon will be used for in the books, so I don’t think the “rightful heir” issue is part of the J/D story. It feels like it’s about Jon choosing Stark v Targ, and therefore, their relationship should be about family rather than sex. We’ve already seen that Jon will betray a woman/lover for the greater good, but the idea that this time he has to betray (even kill) family for the greater good would be a new and painful test.
Here’s a great meta about the Jon/Dany foreshadowing being about Dance of Dragons 2.0. Let’s hope that’s what we get!
