restoration is good (TO ME) because after 12 years we finally get to see carolina gather the clarity to understanding tex. just as carolina was beaten down, when we don't have sarge or wash to guide us, it happens.

tex saves us. the woman who failed defies fate and saves the day.

#tex's whole story was about not being her own person and she was forgotten as if that was true #but it's not true. i think caboose being the one to choose tex over church. to remember tex as her own person #to have cared enough about her. to remind us that tex was never just church's ex or just a freelancer or just a bamf #but that she was someone who was cared about. who was loved. she cared so much only to be abandoned #and yet. and yet. the reds and blues didn't see it that way. she was a part of them. despite it all they were her friends #and i'm so happy that we got to see the show itself be reminded of that. that tex was her own person.#she was valued and she was loved. i think carolina seeing tex return made her understand this.#carolina got to see the tex she never allowed herself to see: a tex who cared about her friends.#a tex whose strength was those around her. the allies she made. carolina sees herself in tex.#and it finally allows her to let tex go. carolina says goodbye for the first time and it's to tex.#the last remnant of her mother and she lets her go.#idkidkdikddidkddk carolina and tex make me wanna chew on glass or something i cannot believe burnie burns came in clutch at the last second #to give carolina and tex that closure. to give tex an ending on her own terms. that's why restoration is GOATed it's flawed but it's earnes #like....BURNIE BURNS??? of all people??? giving us closure on carolina AND tex at the same time??? I love kabru like he’s established as this manipulative and shady person with ulterior motives who could be a major threat to laios’s party, but he also is one of the most empathetic and kind characters in the series and does his best to try and help everyone bc he is one of the people who understands the situation the best. and I think ppl are too focused on the first part they forget the second part. (Anime onlies are ok bc you guys haven’t gotten his character development yet ^^)

Also his party getting wiped out constantly in the beginning was funny as fuck

was thinking about life threatening situations and how I feel mirabel would be one of if not the first person to react. mira’s a quick thinker and she’s fast to react in the movie, she’s also incredibly impulsive as we see many many times. mirabel is also resourceful using whatever is around her to her advantage! another strong trait is her selflessness, she would put the madrigals over herself in a heartbeat and that’s obvious. See mirabel throws herself into danger if it means saving those she cares about! so in conclusion if someone was trying to hurt the madrigals I think she would be the first to react even if it’s not the smartest choice I feel she would just try to be heroic even if she’s absolutely terrified.

#stranger things #kara (supergirl) is technically older than clark but got caught in a wormhole (or something) while escaping krypton #temporarily stopping her ageing because wormholes affect the speed at which time passes #meaning that by the time she gets to earth she's being rescued by her baby cousin who is now a grown man. superman to be exact #superman is... do i need to tell you who superman is?#truth justice hope the american way bla bla bla #but supergirl is a lot more morally complex because she was old enough to know their home before it was destroyed #she was the memory #which makes her methodology a lot more brutal and a lot less boy scout #all while being a teenage girl with the powers of a god #because apparently krypton was a bit more flawed and a lot less idealised than clark would like to think #but it's reversed in stranger things with the alien planet (or whatever) assumed to be rotten and evil #so it likely has hidden depths #especially because dustin keeps questioning its origin #anyway #refugees on a planet that is not their own + i am different i do not belong / gaining strength from the red sun + run to the light #due to comics books being timeless and not just an 80s thing i finally understand a nerdy aspect of the nerd show made for nerds

It’s hard to say how much of this is me projecting, but I do think that part of the point of dunmeshi is the group learning not to put Falin on pedestal and instead let her be her own person whom their lives do not revolve around even as they continue to love her. And in that context I think it’s kind of a bummer that the fandom kinda sorta puts Falin on a pedestal

#both in terms of glorifying aspects of her that the characters glorify #& in being v positive about the characters glorfying her. especially Marcille sorry I just think that she keeps Falin in a box sometimes #I dunno. I think the thing that annoys me the most about Juvia as a character is the fact she had the potential to be a really compelling character but was turned into a creepy, one dimensional joke

sometimes i think abt how sakura's become so widely-spread and misinformed in that mass-production that she's almost become this caricature of the third female member in a trio who is a 'girl-boss who is so cool and is so sexy or so confident etc' when, in fact, she's actually a character with believable flaws and unique characteristic pertaining specifically to the experiences she's endured, and she's beyond someone everyone mass-ships or mass-hates, and in this essay i will—

#thinking about how many people mary sue'd her #including myself unfortunately before i reread part 2 #and like.......... god.#the way she has compassion and genuine goals and has her unique insecurity and flaws #and she has her strengths and her own determination #and the way the fandom either..... simplifies her or reduces her just.#it grinds on my nerves!#the other day i read fanfics where s.akura supposedly is just endlessly irritated by i.no bc shes ''suffering'' so much #[to get the attention of a guy and i.no's being 'unreasonable']#and im like???????#WHAT DO U MEAN #im not even gonna go to that rabbit hole because i have like.
