One of my favorite gifts to get is some bottarga, and I’m now fiddling around with a recipe from the Palizzi Social Club’s cookbook that is all pasta with lemon and bottarga. I took a second set of photos with some extra virgin olive oil, and I don’t love them, so that’s clearly a sign I need to make this recipe again ASAP!.

Beef Stew with Gremolata
Many people find cooking at home to be intimidating. But that's precisely why I enjoy searching for and utilizing all of these shortcut ideas to make amazing renditions of traditional recipes. A beautiful dinner that will wow your special dinner guest, made much better if it comes together quickly.
The green garnish on top of this meal is called Gremolata. Garlic, lemon zest, and chopped parsley are the ingredients of gremolata. This dish was transformed into an incredible, incredibly delicious stew with a simple addition.

This year, the Feast of San Gennaro lasts from September 12 through 19. You can stroll down Mulberry Street and buy something to eat like the food this gentleman was cooking in 1947.

Canadian Italian Food Roundoff V2: Please do not vote if not from the Canadian Provinces (made it difficult to tell last time)
okay so I'm accounting for the fact that olive garden only has locations in Canada in the west coast, prairie provinces and Ontario this time, so that's where the poll locations will focus on
BUT
I'm including Quebec and the Atlantic provinces at the end simply because I know there might be some folks nuts enough to drive down to the Vermont and Maine olive gardens
there's NO "see results" option this time since it took up half of all votes last time, if you don't live in these areas of Canada, I'm not polling for your data atm, you'll need to wait til the day's up
edit: i have not included option of "im canadian i go to neither" because I'm fairly sure that'll also skew the results since I know americanized italian food isn't for everyone

Happy WIP Wednesday!
thanks for the tag @thelettersfromnoone! 🎅🏼
please share your last sentence; or, if you don’t have one, share a plot bunny or idea! (OR sketch for your artwork!)
last one before christmas! here’s a snippet of my everlark christmas drabble (that is of course much longer than i intended)🎄
“So remind me of our menu tonight?”
Peeta went on to describe the feast he had planned, which Katniss was already familiar with since she had helped gather much of the items. Roasted duck, brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes. Cheese buns and spinach pastries. Too many types of cookies and apple pie. Normally, Katniss’s mouth would be watering just from the conversation. Currently, the only thing that sounded appetizing was the cheese buns.
“Well if we’re gonna feed the town tonight, shouldn’t we get started?” Katniss asked.
“Soon, but not yet,” Peeta responded.

I’m making my way through the Palizzi Social Club cookbook, and their recipe for cannellini beans has so far been my absolute favorite, because the beans are so rich in flavor thanks to the copious amounts of herbs and aromatics used to cook with the beans.
Because we were making a trip to H Mart that day, I was able to get head-on shrimp, but I would make this with headless shrimp, especially some very large ones, but I definitely want to make this again, especially the beans.

Ever since I started cooking more, I keep seeing videos from a lady who cooks for her 3 kids and husband using veggies and fruit from her garden and some "cheap" products (I use quotation marks because nothing is cheap anymore). And istg EVERYONE is judging her for everything - the quantity of salt, spices oil, fried stuff, fillings, sauces, everything!
And now I saw the same type of video about a low income middle class mom cooking not for a family of 7, but 7. Most comments are very positive despite the food looking like shit to me (I am not American, so I don't get their taste and dishes unlike the other mom and her nostalgic recipes), but this one and the reply...

Some comedian once pointed out that Italian food is so good you forget they were a main axis power in WWII
Guys...is American food good enough to make the world forgive us for what our government is about to do?
