Alejandro de Tomaso, a former Formula 1 driver, started his own car company in 1959. De TOMASO PANTERA was a sports car that combined Italian styling with American muscle. The Pantera was designed to be sold in the American market.

The Pantera GT4, Gr3, and GTS are all models of the De Tomaso Pantera, a classic sports car. The Gr3 and GTS models were also used in competition racing.

Pantera GT4 : The Pantera GT4 is a model of the De Tomaso Pantera.

Pantera Gr3: The Pantera Gr3 was a competition car based on the Pantera GTS. The FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) intended for Group 3 cars to be mostly stock, unmodified production sports cars. De Tomaso built 30 Pantera Gr3 cars for private customer teams between 1972 and 1984.

Pantera GTS: The Pantera GTS is a model of the De Tomaso Pantera. The Pantera GTS was the basis for the Pantera Gr3 and Group 4 competition cars.

Pantera Group 4: The Pantera Group 4 was a dedicated race car with a unique chassis and suspension. British engineer and driver Mike Parkes developed the Group 4 Pantera.

Pantera Group 5: The Pantera Group 5 was a race car converted from Group 3 and Group 4 cars. Private racing teams competed in Group 5 class racing from 1976 to 1981.
