JOKE-OGRAPHY: In this Bible story, Jesus sends His disciples out to preach, heal, and cast out unclean spirits in His Name. This cartoon imagines a fictional encounter between Peter and one of these unclean spirits. The word "unclean" can have two meanings: (1) dirty and unwashed, or (2) evil and goodless. While demons are unclean according to definition #2, this one seems to think he can get around the "unclean" title by bathing and becoming clean according to definition #1. Despite his efforts, when Peter blesses the water he's bathing in, it turns into holy water and repels the demon anyway.

i think it’s a bit unfortunate that so many people went into mouthwashing knowing what jimmy did because it heavily impacts the way the fandom characterizes him.

i recently watched another playthrough of mouthwashing after weeks of looking at fandom stuff, and it really stood out to me how.. normal seeming jimmy is for the majority of the game. he’s phenomenally good at masquerading as a regular, albeit rude, guy.

and imo, its very important to jimmys character that he’s not special. he’s just a man, his crimes are not unique, and he’s not inherently evil. he’s simply a product of a capitalistic and misogynistic society which has allowed all of his worst traits to fester and turn into something horrible and destructive. but if you walked past him on the street, if you talked with him in a gas station, you would likely think nothing of him.

and yet, in some analysis i see, the fandom ignores this aspect of his character in favor of painting him as this uniquely terrible (and cartoonish) force of evil, which defeats some of the messaging in the game.

just to be extra clear, i despise jimmy and think he’s a horrible person, so please do not get my words twisted.
