Detective Conan began its serialization in Shonen Sunday 29 years ago, and it's still going strong!

I think this is the first Cone I ever drew, in December 2012. At the time, I had no idea that several years in the future, this series would become so dear to me—and would introduce me to so many wonderful people!

*sits up in the middle of the night* in this next universe where vampires seem to have taken over the world, marceline probably either never met simon or he died soon after they met, which means that since her mom also died when she was really young (too young to remember a lot about her i bet), she most likely raised herself completely alone through the apocalypse and never really learned about Morals which is how after getting bitten she joined the vampires and, became evil i guess. we see that even with simons good influence in her formative years she went through a rough path after getting bitten so it would make sense that shed turn out nasty if it wasnt for him. she is part demon. we just saw an universe where simon lost marcy and was fucked up and now we're gonna see one where marcy lost simon and became fucked up

So like I had a horrific realization

Ep 5 started bc Cyn started trying to delete N and V’s memories bc they were watching the Zombie Drones tape and were starting to get close to some kind of truth, so Cyn decided to put a stop to it by knocking them out and deleting those memories, then later getting fed up and deciding to just delete their OSes and straight up kill them

So that means that like.

A) Cyn was aware they were watching that tape, which means she likely knew what they were doing at all times

B) at any point if she didn’t like what they were doing she could just. Delete their memories, alter their personality, make one forget the other- hell, even kill them!

hell. Cyn could drag J back from the dead.

Twist her into a form that was barely recognizable. Take direct control. Kill and ressurect and kill and ressurect as much as she wanted

So- that means death was no escape

C) She could’ve done any of this at ANY TIME no matter what they did, them even trying to resist or escape would’ve been noticed so the only thing they (or at least the one who was allowed to remember the stakes) could do was hope to appease her, and

D) If it wasn’t for Uzi’s specific brand of weird mind-access/control tech she happened to have invented and kept around and/or Uzi’s Solver abilities, they just would’ve been boned no matter what they or anyone else did!

see the thing about boy is that while it's 'i'm an addict who gets angry and punches walls' 'i hope i die in my sleep, no one would care, but instead i'll live in this fantasy' 'i miss my family and don't know how to communicate my love for them that feels like it's not getting out of me while i'm on the other side of the world' 'i regret my entire life and all the time i've lost' 'i'm replaceable and feel this semblance of being alive sometimes, you're so steadfast and i'm just surviving in the habitat you create' 'this life is nothing but pain and lost love and i can't feel connection without pain or vice versa' 'i've been bought and sold and it fucked me up and i'm self destructive and don't trust myself'

but it's also 'embrace yourself and everything you've done without judgement' 'embrace that feeling of love you have it's magical, live in the moment and chase it where it wants to go' 'i can have so much love for people so far away and love it here too' 'i've got regrets but i'm living in the moment and yes it means feeling them too' 'hey i can feel alive being calm and find magic in the simplicity and just sit with all that even if i'm feeling existential and nature is pretty' 'this is a good life and when i can't see it i have people who love me and their memories to remind me' 'sometimes you meet people who bring you back to life take the chance with them it can get better'

and it's just so unapologetic in both ways and i think that's what i love the most. so much maturity mixed in with childlike innocence, truly nothing has been left out and there's just no shame only pure acceptance and it's really hard to find that in any kind of art let alone something so beautiful and well done

If you haven't got the good omens script book yet, I SO FULLY MAJORLY RECCOMEND IT!! I had it ordered into my local bookshop (the employees likely know me as the Good Omens obsessed person) about a week ago and then DEVOURED it.

It's so fun to read and it's super interesting to see the directions, notes and cut scenes. I absolutely love Neil Gaiman's little jokes and comments, as well.

It's especially good right after reading the actual good omens book. It really highlights the differences between the book and the show!

I am OBSESSED with this, officially. I love that we are seeing her painful disconnect with herself, the way the things she is having to do have weighed on her, destroyed her concept of herself. All she can smell is the smell of monstrosity and death, and it threatens to become her.

This actually pinpoints what it's like to fight in a fucking war, in a way that most magical girl shows refuse to engage with. How to be a soldier you have to disengage from what it means to be yourself, and how horrifying that is for a teenage girl who is just beginning to COME into that sense of self, who is CONSCRIPTED into this war and never chose this. She is being destroyed while she is being built, and we LOVE that in this house.

ok so i hate writing intelligent posts abt malevolent bc im scared of posting theories that are stupid and wrong but like. im feeling that the eponymous fallen star of the order of the fallen star. is john. like this is a cult not about the king in yellow like that in season 1, but instead about the “fallen star” that fragmented off the king. Augh
