Currently on my RoP s1 re-watch, and… there was definitely a parallel set up between Isildur and Kemen.
Both are out there to prove their worth to their great fathers. Both have mothers that have been for a long time out of the picture, barely spoken about.
They are both rash in their decisions, led by the flame of youth.
Yet there are differences. While Isildur wants to prove his worth to his father, he mostly wants to prove his own worth to himself. There is more to it than I want dad to see me. As of s2 we learn that part of his drive is his mother’s sacrifice of her own life to save his. She has done something so selfless and impactful to save him who was at fault of putting himself in danger, that he now has to do something as singular to earn back that gift she gave him. Life is precious, how can he ever repay that? Going to fight in Middle Earth seems like the perfect opportunity to earn honour and praise, for great deeds. But the horrors of battle and a marked world humble him. Through his connection with Estrid he realises that Life is a Gift you can not measure in value. Great deeds are born out of small acts of kindness and bravery.
Kemen meanwhile wants only to prove his worth to his father, in order to prove his worth to his father. He doesn’t have any ambitions of his own, except to earn approval of this mighty statesman. He is smitten by Earien because of her straight-forwardness, and introducing her to the family circle seems to be his only personal initiative that comes genuinely from himself. He attempts to sabotage the ships headed for Middle Earth, but that backfires and he is back to square one. Weeks later, as the political currents starts to change even faster, all he finds himself doing is walking three steps behind Earien´s rise to political power, slipping even further away from his father’s notice. Arrogance and jealousy start to guide his actions after his father takes the throne, after he sees Earien still being close with Vlandil (even though she considers Valandil as a brother). While Isildur becomes humbled even more as his beloved is slipping away out of his fingers, Kemen becomes petty and prideful. His actions at the shrine are violent actions of desperation to earn a shallow and unworthy price- for his father has made it plain that he holds no respect for his son. Kemen is send to Middle Earth for damage control, not having learned anything from his actions, setting himself up as a superior leader to the people of Pelagir.
The parallels and differences are incredibly interesting, and makes you curious what will come next.

tables & chairs | aemond targaryen
Tumblr media
request from dms! thank you for this one because PHEW
pairing: aemond targaryen x fem!reader (sister!reader)
summary: there’s a chair… and a table… and you get it
warnings: s2 spoilers!!, smut (MDNI 18+), slight voyeurism
────── ☾ ──────
While everyone assumed an angry Aemond should be isolated, lest he lash out at anyone, you knew better.
You had always looked up to him as a younger sister would an older brother, and as such, you knew him well enough to know when he needed space, and better yet, when he needed comfort. At least, you usually did.
Unfortunately, you found yourself confused when your brother stomped past you toward the council room. You figured that perhaps a council member committed some form of transgression, but it was much too late in the day for the usual meetings called by the Prince Regent, and you could spot at least two of the council members speaking with one another on the steps.
You followed behind Aemond, entering the council room slowly to find him seated alone, evidently frustrated and annoyed by something. He sat tall on the chair at the head of the table, only moving his head to turn toward you as you entered the room.
“Does something trouble you, brother?” you asked.
“It need not concern you,” Aemond responded, averting his gaze from you.
You sighed, “Talk to me, Aemond.”
“Truly, it is of no concern.”
You took a deep breath; sometimes it was difficult to get Aemond to break his walls down and allow your comfort in. You approached him, using your arms behind your back to hoist yourself up onto the table, shifting over slightly so that you were seated on the table directly in front of him. You made yourself unavoidable.
You reached out a hand and lifted his chin until his eye met your own. “Talk to me, Aemond.”
He took a deep breath. “The false queen has found more dragon riders.”
Your brows furrowed in confusion; that was the last thing you expected him to say. “That- that is impossible,” you replied.
“Evidently it is not,” Aemond said, “I thought the same, but I was behind Silverwing only moments ago. She had a rider, and her mate was awakened as well.”
“I-“ you were not sure what to say, or how to comfort him, “I do not understand how such a thing is possible.“
Aemond leaned forward and suddenly slammed a hand on the table directly next to your thigh. “She is raising an army. I must do the same,” he said, the volume of his voice slightly elevated, his frustration evident.
“Is there anything I can do to help?” you asked.
Aemond gave you a small smile, despite his current temperament. He began to toy with the hem of your dress. “I can think of a few things.”
“I meant something genuinely helpful, Aemond.”
Aemond looked up at you, his fingers never leaving the fabric of your dress, as he said, “I’m simply pleased to have you here, and so close to me, no less.”
“Aemond-“ your voice trailed off, losing itself as he began to slowly push your dress higher and higher up the tops of your thighs.
“Yes?”
“This is the small council room.”
“I am aware,” he responded.
Aemond tapped two fingers against the sides of your thighs, prompting you to lift your hips briefly so he could move the fabric of your dress from underneath you to behind you. The hard wood of the table was rough on your bare skin.
“So pretty,” Aemond whispered, kissing up one of your thighs, leaning forward more and more in his chair as his hands gripped your legs to keep them open.
“Aem-“
Before you could even get the full word out, Aemond moved your small clothes to the side and licked a strip from your hole all the way to your clit, causing a gasp to leave your lips at the sudden feeling.
He pulled away briefly. “Something to say, sweet sister?”
Your chest rapidly rose and fell in anticipation. “I came in here with intent to make you feel better, you know.”
“This makes me feel better than you could possibly know,” Aemond replied, diving back in as he sucked on your bud. You fell backwards, propping yourself up on your elbows as he grabbed your waist to pull you to the edge of the table and therefore even closer to him.
You whined, keeping quietness in mind, as Aemond gave small kitten licks to your pearl, causing your breathing to become erratic. The feeling of his mouth on you was heavenly, and the potential of getting caught only added to your arousal.
Aemond moved his tongue to your hole, gazing up at you as he began to taste within you, curling his tongue as much as he could as his grasp on your hips tightened to keep you in place, the pressure destined to leave marks.
His nose was buried in your clit, almost involuntarily at the mercy of his positioning, further stimulating you as it rubbed against your clit with every movement of his head.
You threw your head back, one of your hands moving to hold onto the back of his hair. You pulled lightly, giving him direction on how to move his head. He groaned in response, the vibration sending a shiver up your spine. His eye never left your face as he watched exactly what he was doing to you.
Aemond hit a particularly sweet spot within you and your arms grew weak, your back falling onto the wooden table with a small thud. You whimpered at the pain, but it only egged Aemond on more as he intentionally nodded his head up and down as his tongue fucked you, causing his nose to give your bud even more stimulation.
Your back arched off of the table, your hand still on Aemond’s head, fingers tangled in his hair. Holding his hair acted as an anchor for you to begin grinding your hips upward against his face, and he loosened his grip on your hips to allow for your movements.
Right when he felt you begin to clench around his tongue, he pulled away. You caught your breathing for a moment before shifting to look at him, his face still between your legs.
“Why’d you stop?” you breathed.
“Just giving you a break,” he shrugged, nonchalant, “it’s no fun if you come already.”
You pouted as your arousal calmed down and Aemond returned his mouth to your clit, flicking it with his tongue.
He tapped two fingers against your hip to catch your attention, so you looked down at him. He pulled away from you for a moment and held out two fingers.
You pulled his wrist toward you and put his fingers into your mouth, making a show of sucking on the digits before pulling them out of your mouth with a pop.
He quietly growled at the sight, retracting his hand away from your mouth and inserting his now-wet pointer and middle fingers into your hole, causing a loud whine to leave your lips.
He pushed his fingers in and out of you as he sucked your clit, watching you the best he could as you writhed beneath him. He draped his unoccupied arm across your stomach, holding you down as he moved his fingers faster and faster.
“Aem- Aem- fuck-“ you breathed out.
He only pulled away from you long enough to speak the words: “Say my name and I’ll let you come.”
You whimpered under his touch as he moved his tongue and fingers at a ruthless pace, working overtime to pull your orgasm.
Your hands tangled in his hair, tugging to keep his head where you needed it most as you squealed, “Ae- Aemond!”
Your high crashed over you, Aemond not letting up until he could no longer feel your spongy walls squeezing his fingers.
He gave a few gentle kisses to your hips, leaning backward and relaxing into his chair as you caught your breath, covering yourself with your dress and sitting back upward.
No words were exchanged between you two as you hopped off the table, standing dangerously close to Aemond as you locked eyes with him, your bodies nearly touching as you sank to your knees, ducking your head so you were fully underneath the table.
Aemond only watched, maintaining his relaxed position as you untied his breeches and pulled them, along with his small clothes, down just enough to free his cock.
You gazed up at him as you licked a stripe from the base of his cock to the tip, giving special attention to the very top before sinking your head down on the length. He was too big for you to keep him entirely in your mouth, but you were able to control the reflexes in your throat for a moment so that you could take all of him briefly, the head of his cock poking the back of your throat as your nose hit his pelvis.
You pulled back to just the tip, sinking back down to a comfortable length and setting a pace you could manage. Every so often, you stilled your head and swirled your tongue around the head of Aemond’s cock, and you could hear his breathing become heavier as you did so.
You bobbed your head at a steady pace and Aemond continued to watch you, groans leaving his lips each time you looked up at him, tears forming in your eyes from his size.
You heard the door to the council room swing open, and you instinctively tried to pull back, but Aemond grabbed the back of your head and kept you on him, forcefully inching the chair closer to the table so that you were fully covered by the wooden furniture above you. You shifted backwards on your knees to accommodate his actions. Aemond bunched up your hair, quickly moving you up and down once to prompt you to continue before removing his hand and placing both of his elbows on the table in front of him.
“I’ve been looking everywhere for you,” Alicent spoke, standing on the other end of the table with one hand resting on the back of the chair opposite Aemond.
Aemond cleared his throat. “What for, mother? I’m rather busy.”
“You do not look much busy to me,” Alicent patronized.
At that moment, you moved your hand to his cock, lightly grasping the base and helping yourself as you continued to move your head up and down, allowing for stimulation over his entire cock. He shifted in his seat at the feeling, fighting with all his might to maintain his composure.
“What do you want?” he asked, trying so hard to sound normal that he sounded even more strained.
“Whispers say you chased another dragon toward Dragonstone this morn,” Alicent said.
You ran your tongue along the slit at the top of his cock, causing his entire body to jolt. To cover up the reaction, Aemond slammed his hands on the table. “Silverwing has a rider.”
“Whispers also say you burned down an ent-“
“Mother,” he cut her off, and you took his slight pause as an opportunity to move your hand up and down even faster, and you could feel his cock twitch in your mouth, “I wish to be alone.”
Alicent sighed and stepped closer to him, and you could feel his body tense up beneath you.
“I truly hope you will one day allow yourself to forget this grudge you hold,” she spoke.
Aemond simply gave her a small nod, his self control slipping further and further away from him.
Alicent took a deep breath. “Have you seen your sister anywhere?”
You disconnected your mouth from his cock and instead ever so gently began to suck on his balls, your hand stroking his cock at a torturously slow pace.
Aemond’s breathing was becoming erratic as he cleared his throat to cover up a groan, “No, I have not.”
“Shame,” Alicent responded, “if you see her, inform her I need to speak with her, will you?”
Aemond was fighting with every cell of his being to remain stagnant as you began to suck his cock again, bobbing your head and moving your hand significantly faster. “I will,” was all he could get out.
Alicent gave him a nod, still gazing at him with confusion for his strange attitude, but she left the room regardless.
When the doors slammed shut, Aemond leaned back again and looked down at you. You met his gaze, the sight of you causing his cock to twitch and flex in your mouth, signaling he was near his climax.
“Fuck you,” Aemond quipped lightheartedly.
He gently pushed at the bottom of your jaw, prompting you to cease your actions. He held underneath your arms and began to pull you upward, his hands trailing further and further down your body as you stood, finally landing on your hips. He pulled you close to him, sitting tall as you moved to straddle him on the much-too-large chair.
“Hi,” you said.
Aemond smiled. “Hi.”
He stretched his neck up toward you and kissed you, starting off gentle before intensifying the kiss by tightening his grip on your hips, moving them back and forth to grind against his cock.
You moaned into the kiss, reaching down to move your dress out of the way and ensure there were no obstructions as Aemond slowly rocked his hips to allow for even more friction.
You wrapped your arms around his neck, anchoring yourself to his body.
His lips moved down your jawline to your throat, sucking a sweet spot just below your ear and eliciting a whine from your lips.
“Need you,” you sighed.
“Thought you came in here for my benefit?” Aemond teased, reaching down to move your small clothes to the side again and line his cock up with your entrance.
“At least when you’re under the table, there’s an equal chance we may not get caught,” he started, slowly gesturing your hips down onto his length, “but if anyone saw us now, I doubt they would question such a sight.”
“Aemond-“
You lost yourself in your pleasure, setting a steady pace, riding him as he watched you in awe, your hands bracing yourself on the chair behind his head.
“I think you like the idea of getting caught,” he teased.
You stuttered out, “and I think you q-uite like being r-regent, Your Grace.”
You put special emphasis and attention on the final two words, knowing it would send Aemond into a frenzy, and you were correct.
Aemond was holding your hips so tightly you were certain they would bruise as he began to fuck into you ruthlessly, watching your face contort in a mixture of pain and pleasure as his cock nearly split you open.
You were still moving up and down on top of him, but your rhythm was becoming less and less stable as Aemond moved faster and faster. His arms wrapped around you to hold you down and in place.
“Aemond, fuck,” you moaned, your spongy walls squeezing him in anticipation.
“Try again,” he demanded, referencing your words.
“Y-Your Grace,” you whimpered, the pressure becoming too much.
“Good girl,” he cooed, and his words sent you over the edge, your climax washing over you as you squeezed his cock in intense pleasure.
His thrusts didn’t stop or lessen in intensity at all. He was still chasing his own high, the feeling of yours only bringing him closer.
You were overstimulated from now two orgasms, nearly crying at Aemond’s final few sharp thrusts that allowed him to spill his seed inside of you, no urgency to pull out whatsoever.
Aemond left his arms wrapped around you as he caught his breath, and you did the same.
“I forgot what was plaguing my mind when you first came in here,” Aemond stated.
“Good,” you giggled, “that was the point.”

i think it’s very interesting that we got basically no insight into will’s life in lenora. sidelining him from the supernatural plot is one thing but they deliberately gave us nothing about his life after he moved. we see a girl hit on him in s4ep1 but it’s unclear if he’s liked by his classmates or not.
we see that el is being bullied but we don’t see the bullying carry over to will who is always hanging out with her. we see that el has difficulties with certain subjects but she’s working on it. we get some insight into jonathan’s time in lenora with the show introducing us to argyle and establishing jonathan as a stoner. we see that he’s having trouble with college applications because of his selfless nature.
but we get next to nothing about will in episode 1 (march 21st) and then the next episode is set on his birthday which they conveniently claimed that they forgot. he has a pretty strong emotional arc in regards to his love for mike in s4 but that’s it. all we know about will is that in his time away from hawkins, he’s accepted that he’s in love with mike.
80% of the scenes he’s in seem to be from his POV and yet we barely know anything. he doesn’t talk about it either. except for when he says “these past few months i’ve been so lost without you.” but that’s too vague to come to any conclusions.
even in season 3, the only insight we get is “will is sad that the party is falling apart.” we don’t see him suffer the aftermath of the possession the way we did in s2 (his ptsd), we don’t find out why joyce is suddenly so lenient regarding curfews and will biking back home. it feels like we see will but it’s just enough of him to acknowledge that he’s there but not enough of him to matter.
i can only describe his presence since season 3 as “almost invisible” like he slips under the radar and people kind of forget that he exists. the audience sometimes forget that he exists too. i wonder what that means considering that they’re making him the center of s5.

the fact that Alicent cares about viserys' disgusting ass more than her own children is really a crazy change, especially after THIS night.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i mean, the new canon tells us that the reason Alicent wanted to seize the throne was not out of fear for the lives of her children, but because VISERYS supposedly wanted it that way. and when it turned out that this was not the case, she easily turned her back on them all and almost was ready to bring Aegon's head to Rhaenyra on a platter.
((look, Otto didn't love his grandchildren, but he would NEVER do that to them, not even to Aegon, whom he can barely stand.))
viserys absolutely dgaf about THEIR - his and Alicent's - family. he didn't care about her feelings, her dignity, her desires. he called her by a wrong name, took away her girlhood, in order to have sons whom he did not love. he never gave her anything in return, only took away. but she shows more respect and LOVE for his ghost than for her own living sons, who are ready to give their all for the sake of a grain of such an attitude towards themselves.
now it looks as if she used her children while they were convenient for her: Aegon, being burned, can no longer guarantee her power - puts him under the enemy's sword, Aemond, who has been her support for years, began to cause problems - does not even remember him. only Helaena is left, and I'm inclined to believe that if she "shows her teeth" too, all of Alicent's tenderness towards her will fade. (daeron, RUUUN-). she hardly perceives them as persons, but this is a separate conversation.
"she wanted to torture one of my sons after her bastards took away his eye with impunity and will want to cut off the head of another my son for the throne, but she will be a good queen with whom I will want to escape into the forest" boys, that was THE moment when you should have run away from here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
she condemns them for the fear and hatred that she has nurtured in them for years. she's really terrible at this show.
tbh, I don't see any redemption for her. but also I don't hope that in this show she will face real consequences, and not senseless humiliation bc... just watch s2.

Starscream is given a bath, Part 1:
First 832 words out of a total 1773 and counting! I never expected this would turn out so long, but I’m not complaining. Aircraft sizes and possibly physics have been ignored to make this fic possible. Thank you for reading. This is my first time writing Transformers fanfics, so I’m kind of nervous. Laying out my heart to you guys here.
Note: “partner” in this context means they are working together as a pair, not a romantic partnership. I’m writing as if Starscream has entered an uneasy alliance with the Autobots in S2 but refuses to join them officially.
Part 2: here
——————————————————————————
“Okay, you can get in the water now.”
It was incredibly early in the morning, and the human had gotten up to drink some water only to see a somewhat dirtied up Starscream looking up at her through the window. The two were technically partners now, but they were still getting to know each other. It was a learning curve with Starscream, but he always seemed to respond well to positive feedback.
“Careful what you wish for, human.” Starscream had a suspiciously devious grin on his faceplate, and it only took a moment for his transformation sequence to finish and then the human was left with a full-size F-16 in her bathtub.
The vehicle mode somehow actually fit, with the landing gear deployed to hold it up just barely above the waterline. This meant she was going to have to do all the work herself, without any help from him.
“Seriously?”
Even without his face visible, she could practically feel that smartass smug look burning into her.
“Something wrong?”
“You know, if you’re gonna behave like a plane, I could always get the pressure washer.” She joked, the words accompanied by a smirk.
The rudder and ailerons moved suddenly in a slight panic, and the human could’ve sworn she even saw his wings themselves twitch, despite being in his altmode.
“THAT infernal device?? Do you take me for some kind of mindless, unfeeling Earth-plane you can just manhandle as you please?!”
His voice was filled with surprise, which over the course of his words gradually grew into offense.
She was trying to take him seriously. Really, she was. But there was an airplane. There was an airplane in the bathtub. And it was yelling at her. With a cracking voice. And it was five in the morning. The quiet must’ve felt uncomfortable to Starscream, because he chuckled nervously and spoke up again, this time sounding more concerned. He was using his kicked puppy voice, which he favored whenever he wanted to get out of something.
“You wouldn’t be so cruel… would you?”
“No…” she sighed. “No, of course not, I was only kidding.” The human smiled and rolled up her pant sleeves before doing anything else. She gave him a slight pat on the undercarriage, which elicited a “Hmph.” from the seeker.
“Alright, now how are we supposed to…” She tried, and failed, to bite back a yawn.
“I guess I could begin with the lower half of the fuselage… gear… engine intake…”
“I don’t care how you begin, just be quick about it! I can’t be sitting around here all day.”
She ignored the somewhat patronizing instruction, putting one leg over the side of the bathtub, and then the other. The human then reached behind him and grabbed a sponge, wetting it in the lukewarm water of the bath before pouring some soap on it. She moved a little closer, placing a hand on his nosewheel.
“Gonna clean the landing gear now. I’ll have to get all up in your wheel well.”
The reply came back uncharacteristically quiet.
“Alright.”
She stood up on the nosewheel, shower head in one hand while the other held onto the gear assembly. The human took her time, pouring warm water over the joints, the shock absorber, the steering system. The wheel wells, an area of the aircraft that were a mix between internal and external, made the differences between Starscream and a regular F-16 easy to spot. He was far more streamlined than his Earth-made counterpart, having little to no exposed cabling and appearing somewhat sleeker overall. He had several joints on the gear to allow better maneuverability on the ground, and it looked like he could even lower his fuselage closer to the ground if he wanted to. She repeated the process with his main wheels. The nosewheel’s well was relatively shallow, whereas she found the main wheels had enough room to almost be considered a crawl space. The human thought about these traits, trailing a hand over a thin line of blue light illuminating the area where the wheels would be stowed.
She didn’t know he had that until now, but it made seeing her way under the fuselage easier. Starscream occasionally shifted above her. He didn’t speak much, only commenting now and then on how long she was lingering, or that she was touching too much. She took notice that his tone of voice was not genuine. It did not convey the irritation Starscream usually made very clear that he was feeling. It was as if he was complaining out of obligation, as if he didn’t know how to feel about what he was experiencing. The feeling of being cleaned like this was…awkward, slightly uncomfortable, but not bad. Even after receiving a human partner of his own, he had never quite gotten used to something eerily squishy rooting around in his exposed parts.
The struts compressed without much resistance when the human pressed down on them, dipping the jet into the water.

„It‘s always too late“ (ft. Crowley‘s watch)
I‘m currently on vacation in Greece and, naturally, re-reading Good Omens (the book) for the nth time. And you know what keeps bugging me and has been nagging at my brain ever since S2 dropped?
Crowley‘s line, right after he threatens Jim at the bookshop („If anything happens to Aziraphale because of this–“) which he follows up by saying: „It doesn’t matter. It‘s always too late.“
I cannot tell you just how much this silly line has been festering at some back end corner of my brain. Because what do you mean, „it‘s always too late?“ Too late for what? Has it ever been to late before? To change an outcome? Seemingly not, since they stopped the literal end of the World barely a few years ago. That‘s the most „too late“ definition there is, and they still turned it around so that it wasn‘t. Too late, that is.
So why say this? With such defeat, as well?
I don‘t remember if it‘s series canon, however, in the book, we get this little foot note about Crowley‘s watch:
Tumblr media
„This watch gave the time in twenty world capitals and in a capital city in Another Place, where it was always one time, and that was Too Late.“
Knowing Neil, this specific wording resurfacing in S2 cannot be a coincidence. „It was custom made for Crowley“ – by who? I‘d wager that human watch makers certainly couldn’t make a watch that shows a time such as „Too Late“ in „Another Place“.
We know and see Crowley‘s watch in S1.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think the prop department left out the „Too Late“ bit of it, which is understandable. But it‘s book canon anyway and what matters more to me here, is that Crowley definitely wears a different watch in S2.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It‘s very nicely and accurately framed in many shots as well, including the promotion pictures. Yet another thing I‘d wager to not be a coincidence. But that‘s merely speculation, of course. A lot of props and a lot of Crowley‘s appearance changed since S1 and changes even throughout S2.
Whether or not this has any deeper meaning or is simply a red herring, is for Neil and the prop department only to know.
All I‘m saying is: The mysterious custom-made, possibly non-human-made watch that said it was always „Too Late“ is gone or at least changed with some focus shifted onto it, and yet: It‘s still always too late, according to Crowley.
Is it a metaphore? For Crowley‘s Fall and it always having been „Too Late“ for him in „Another Place“ (e.g. Heaven)?
Or is it a hint? To the Second Coming? To Armageddon not having been the only end of the World? To the unofficial picture where the whole world seems to have been destroyed and the last thing standing is the bookshop? To that version of world, where it seems to be too late after all?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Or is it just a watch? And just a line? And I should just put my book down and go for another swim in the ocean in case this is just a sun-induced conspiracy theory?
Let me know your thoughts, I‘m sure this has been wondered about before!

ot7 vampire enhypen — human blood bank s2
part two
read s1 here
₍ᐢ. .ᐢ₎ ₊˚⊹♡
the next morning, ni-ki woke up with a raging headache as if he had gotten drunk the night before. he barely remembered the night other than the tasteful feeling of feeding on another human.
he swallowed down regret, throwing the covers off of his body. he couldn’t tell the oldest or you about this.
but he knew sunoo would notice a difference. he had to play it cool.
a knock came to the front door downstairs, and sunoo went to open it with a smile, seeing eunchae holding a jacket.
“oh, hi eunchae!”
“hi sunoo!” she greeted cheerfully, “i brought back rikis jacket he let me use last night. forgot to give it back before we parted ways.”
ni-ki came down the steps, and noticed eunchae was back to her usual self.
what the heck happened to her last night?
he noticed the slight difference in her tone, her smile, her eyes.
ni-ki cleared his throat, “oh hey.” he said from behind sunoo.
“oh hi! i brought you your jacket back!” eunchae smiled and held out his jacket.
ni-ki took it, then tilted his head. “can—can we talk outside for a moment?”
“oh, uh sure?” eunchae nodded with a confused look.
meanwhile, sunoo was watching the exchange carefully, until ni-ki met eunchae outside on the porch.
“what’s up?” eunchae asked crossing her arms, then in a teasing tone, “just because i borrowed your jacket doesn’t mean i have a thing for you nishimura.”
ni-ki laughed, “well tell that to my hyungs, because they sure enough will be talking about you bringing my jacket back early in the morning.”
“i was just cold, and you were a totally gentleman like you were raised to be.” she teased and pinched his cheek.
ni-ki pushed her hand away. “anyway, i wanted to ask you about last night.”
“about what, exactly?”
ni-ki thought for a second, “it’s just,” ni-ki shook his head, wondering how to phrase the words, “you weren’t you for one.”
“what do you mean? i was perfectly fine.” she laughed. “just a bunch of friends hanging around a fire pit silly!” she pushed his shoulder jokingly.
“but what about what went on during the whole thing?”
eunchae tilted her head, even more confused than before. “do you mean the drinking? i thought it was harder for vampires to get drunk? what, are you a lightweight or something?”
ni-ki stared at the girl with a dumbfounded expression. eunchae truly was confused about what happened that night.
“what do you remember, eunchae? how did you become friends with sunwoo and those other guys?”
eunchae scratched her head, “i don’t remember much,” she began, “i think i met him in one of my classes a few months ago.”
“why did you start hanging out with him?”
“why are you jealous?” she poked ni-ki teasingly.
“i’m serious eunchae.”
“oh.” eunchae tapped her chin. “i—i think somehow i bring the booze? all i remember is sunwoo telling me we would be great friends.”
ni-ki sighed. “are you and the girls still drinking that special tea of yours?”
eunchae scoffed. “of course.” out of the corner of her eye, she noticed the curtain moving. “by the way, tell everyone i said hi and i’m not your girlfriend.” she laughed. “bye riki.”
she waved and walked off.
inside, you, sunoo, and jungwon watched on between ni-ki and eunchaes interaction.
“what did they say!” you exclaimed.
“i couldn’t hear anything!” jungwon huffed.
“aren’t you all supposed to have supernatural powers or something?”
“we’re creatures, not superheroes.” sunoo stated.
you three noticed ni-ki turn around to walk back inside, so you three ran into the living room, pretending to be deep in conversation.
walking in, ni-ki stopped to look in the living room. “you all can stop pretending. eunchae said hi, and we are still only friends!”
you crawled over the back of the couch, running up to the youngest. “but you gave her your jacket! a boy only gives a girl their jacket when there’s something more! like feelings!”
“what happened to just being a gentleman?” ni-ki laughed tossing the jacket on his shoulder.
your shoulders slumped. “i was just trying to see the romantic side of things.” you rolled your eyes.
“no romance between eunchae and i, trust.”
“does she have some other boy in mind?” jungwon asked, now standing behind you.
ni-ki didn’t say anything for a few seconds, and sunoo clapped. “she does!” he giggled like a school girl. “oh my, are you jealous?”
“absolutely not!” ni-ki was tired of the endless shipping and this conversation. “i’m just worried.”
worried for her safety.
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
“jungwon, slow down!” you groaned into the pillow, as your face was pushed into it, as jungwon took you from behind.
“so—sorry.” he mumbled before slowing his thrusts. “feel, so good.”
his lips met your shoulder, playfully biting down. “i’m close jungwon.” this time you moaned.
you two finished together, jungwon latching onto your shoulder to feed.
laying beside him, catching your breath, you noticed the hand prints he left on your inner thighs, your hips turning red, and your breasts as well.
he was so handsy.
jungwon chuckled shyly, “i’m sorry. still trying to work on my strength and drive.”
you kissed his dimple cheek, running a hand through his hair. “i understand won.”
“don’t mean to hurt you.” he kissed your forehead.
“with pain, comes pleasure.” you snuggled into his side.
“good to know.” jungwon chuckled, cuddling more into you. you gasped slapping the boy.
“you’re hard again already!” you scolded.
“i’m sorry, i can’t help it.” he hid his blushing cheeks into your neck.
a knock came to his door, and heeseung peaked in. “you two decent?”
“no go away.” jungwon said throwing a pillow to the door.
“too bad, jay wants our girl to eat.”
you sat up, “mhm, food sounds good.” you moaned. you reached over the bed, grabbing jungwon’s discarded shirt, and got out of bed, walking to his dresser to steal a clean pair of boxers.
“see you down stairs wonie.” you smiled, and followed heeseung down the steps.
“i’m surprised your drive isn’t as high as jake and jungwon’s, hee. you’re still pretty new as well.”
you told heeseung as you sat down at the bar where jay had a plate waiting for you. heeseung sat beside you on your left as jake was sitting to your right, reading a physics book.
“oh please, his drive is high, if not higher than mine.” jake teased.
you looked to heeseung who had on his innocent facade. he shook his head.
“oh don’t lie, hee,” jungwon laughed coming into the room, “the only reason you’re not as frustrated is because you use your hand to jack off. surprised it hasn’t fallen off.”
you choked on the drink you were drinking, jake immediately patting your back.
“really dude?” heeseung shot at jungwon who had on a sly smile in revealing the older’s secret.
you used the napkin to wipe away any drink left over that didn’t make it in your mouth, “um heeseung, you, you know im here for you, right?” you looked at him nervously with a smile.
he smiled back with ease. “i know baby.” he cradled your cheek. “but you’re here to feed us, not be our sex doll.”
“hee, i don’t mind really, okay?” you tried to convince him. “give your hand a break for once.” you sighed, grabbing his hand in yours.
the last time you and heeseung were intimate was about 3 months ago.
“you barely have to ask, ok? don’t be afraid to let me know your needs.”
heeseung smiled. “okay.” heeseung kissed the back of your hand. “eat up baby.”
you continued to eat as the boys bickered. when you finished with your bowl empty, heeseung got up from his seat.
you had no time to react when heeseung threw you over his shoulder.
“heeseung! what the hell!” you squealed and he slapped your butt.
“my hand needs a break baby, and i am horny thanks to you.”
“she’s mine for the day!” jungwon whined.
“your time is up.” heeseung laughed.
“can you at least carry her a different way? hee, she just ate.” jay stated.
“oh right!” heeseung put you down carefully to only pick you once again, wrapping your legs around his waist, so you were face to face.
“turn off yall hearing boys.” heeseung smirked walking up the steps with you. you both passed sunoo and ni-ki who were coming down. both boys already sprouting a disgusted expression.
ni-ki and sunoo walked into the kitchen with the others, jay giving them a plate of food as well.
sunoo still felt off from ni-ki’s aura and what he felt radiating off the boy from last night. the way his expressions were when he spoke with eunchae this morning, further piped sunoo’s interest.
“how was hanging out with eunchae last night?” jay asked the youngest.
ni-ki immediately went to defensive mode. “why? did someone tell you something?”
jay looked at the boy, “why, something you’re keeping from me?”
ni-ki inhaled and shook his head, “sorry no.” then he said a lie straight through his teeth (but also, not a lie), “just tired of everyone questioning my relationship status with eunchae.”
“speaking of that, why did she drop off your jacket this morning? do we need to have a talk? or shall i say, that talk?”
ni-ki dropped his fork, “oh goodness please no!” both his hands ran through his hair. “i can swear it’s not like that! okay!” he groaned. “even if it was, which it isn’t, i am not having that talk with you all!”
ni-ki grabbed his plate of food, deciding to eat up in his room away from the prying eyes of his vampire family.
thankfully they couldn’t read his mind. ni-ki quickly learned how to control whatever powers came with being a vampire just months after being turned.
he figured he was different.
and sunwoo confirmed that the other night.

So I edited this post a few times since what I wanted to convey just couldn't come out, and then I stumbled across this explanation.
And all of this!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To continue with my own thoughts.
I'm not sure where the takes of Mel is more than Jayce's girlfriend or being reduced to just being at a man's side is coming from that is being spouted.... Meljay shippers know this?
People are annoyed and confused to see what was set up from S1 until S2 Act 1 and the sudden a disconnect of how we got to know the relationship was handled and their final conversation. Most of us would've been fine (I know I would) with the breakup if it wasn't so off and lackluster.
It didn't feel like Mel and Jayce, granted they went through the trenches both physically and mentally, but that understanding is only being applied to Jayce in how he behaves. Mel is just a bystander and has to take it, and she was never like that. Or did her time trapped by the BR just make her numb to everything because she feels so much and hasawakenied as a Mage and empath? If so, the writers did shit to make it clear, and we have to fill in gaps and explanations with headcanons.
Most importantly, Mel only gave and gave to others (professionally, non proffesional, platonical, familial, etc) but got nothing of the sort in return.... not even a hug, a hand squeeze, a how are you nada. That apology she got was, again, so offstandish. I didn't expect Jayce to cry out or be a lovey dovey anything, but he was more heated to scold her a beat. Mel barely got a word out there, too, to explain her side. She doesn't even fully understand her powers...
Also, in regards to interactions, why didn't we see a moment between her and Caitlin? When her mother died, Mel told Jayce to go to her, and had she seen how Ambessa did what she did, Mel would've shut things down, too. But we couldn't see the two of them bond over having lost their mothers?
No one in Piltover was concerned with their influential councilor who went missing for weeks/months? It would've been nice had we seen her and Shoola as the last ones standing or talk about the future of Piltover and the convo moving to Mel returning to Noxus and leaving it in the people's/their hands, but not a lick.
We just see her board a ship because she now has the weight of the Medarda line (who she needs to build from the ground up while the Black Rose is still out there and likely has to deal with more politics in Noxus that is more on the violent side) on her shoulders to a country she's been exiled for who knows how long.
Mel is getting to terms with her powers, her legacy, but even with her mother, Kino, Elora and now going back to a country she was exiled from, AND having to lead a faceless army. WHERE IS HER COMFORT!?!?! Who does she have to share all of this with above one minute.
It also doesn't help that people (yes, shippers mostly cause one scroll on your page they barely talk about Mel outside of ship. Not even about the popular 'she has a larger storyline' takes. Just invalidate why Meljay doesn't and never would work or was always doomed takes in response to OG shippers sharing their grievances.
There is weird and fake trolling in the meljay/mel tag when the same people never had something to say about her/ any of her relationship up until the finale and the last few Meljay scenes.
But now everyone can supposedly yap as some fake intellectual and shade others' people being annoyed, sad, and disappointed in the WAY it was written to THEM for their ship.
Meljay shippers literally had to create a niche tag because the main ones are being spammed with bad take after take and where Mel/Meljay is undermined while claiming it is all in balance in the end. Is that not insane?
Please, miss me with that. It is irritating and condescending.
Shippers in fandom love love and just a relationship in general. This is nothing new so why all these bad fate takes? They are allowed to vent their frustration on how the story for their ship is handled. Most of the same shippers also have an analysis of the characters' they ship and larger storyline that was set. Act 3 plot lines were squeezed in such a way with so many minutes left. I am still of the opinion that we should've gotten either 3 or 6 more episodes to tie all the stuff together properly since the writers themselves decided to introduce all these storylines. There was just a disconnect and OOC behavior in Meljay that wasn't expanded upon in a better way imo.

that post about triangulation gave me the chills
because that's what the show has become basically since s2 started. any time a third party is brought in to judge they always come down in Stolas' favor
Loona talks to Via in Seeing Stars? she should cut her dad some slack for a repeat pattern of behavior
Blitzo has a heart to heart with Fizz in Oops about how Stolas looks down on him? Fizz immediately takes up for Stolas and even pulls the total BS 'if you judge royalty you're as bad as them' liberal line of thinking on Striker
Blitzo reads Stolas for filth? he gets an invite to Verosika's party where she nonstop empathizes with him despite Stolas talking trash about her and everyone there behind her back
and the thing is ever single time it happens the deck is blatantly stacked so Stolas can come out looking better. it's either stuff being left out or everyone involved being OOC.
Loona has no reason to think anything of Stolas outside of 'man my adoptive father is forced to sleep with so we can pay rent', yet she gives Via this speech full of platitudes about why Stolas is trying is enough (and then doesn't cut Blitzo any slack, so it's not like she's saying this because she's learnt anything about her own relationship with her father - it's just here to benefit Stolas)
When talking to Fizz Blitzo rightly notes it's a fetish to Stolas - but the writers also make him bring up a bunch of phone calls that happened totally offscreen to make Stolas look better. there's plenty of things he could tell Fizz but he's never allowed to just so the writers can make him look cynical for doubting Stolas
Verosika is the straightest example of triangulation. she's biased against Blitzo to the point she'll believe when anyone says anything about him, but the writers never allow her to find out Stolas was never 'dating' Blitzo but coercing him into sex instead. her projecting all her baggage onto Stolas is barely even mentioned in the episode as being a problem when she inserts herself into the scenario - the viewers are supposed to side with her 'it starts with saying good for him' line despite how little sense that makes. it contradicts the episode's whole thesis that it's OK for her to be mad at Blitzo for awhile - but Blitzo can't be mad Stolas went and made out with someone else right in front of him the night after he told Blitzo he supposedly cared very deeply for him
that's why this isn't just garbage but infruriating. the whole universe is distorted to favor Stolas and everyone's characterization suffers as a result because they all have to take a bunch of stupid pills in every scenario instead of talking plainly about all the shit Stolas has pulled. Loona and Fizz especially should show some care for Blitzo over Stolas, but they don't. and Blitzo is never allowed to tell anyone else just how badly Stolas screwed him over so they can keep gaslighting him that he's the problem
it's probably also why more of the audience is turning on Stolas. most people can't relate to having a hitman called on them or any of the cartoonish things Stella does
but most people sure can relate to having had an argument with an ex partner or friend and feeling like they want to scream because said partner/friend manipulates everyone around them into taking their side or pressuring them to 'own up' and 'apologize', likely in just the same ways that Stolas does
what the show is putting Blitzo through is just dehumanizing and depressing. his feelings don't matter, how he's been treated doesn't matter. because we're just supposed to accept that he's dirt not worth scraping of Stolas' bird claws, whereas Stolas is pure and good and has only made transgressions so minor they don't even warrant mentioning. and the only way the show will treat him as worthy of anything is if he gives Stolas unconditional love while getting nothing in return
You know what? I have nothing to add to this. You took every last word right out of my mouth.

I am as disappointed as everyone else is with the final season of The Umbrella Academy, but I also have some of my own Thoughts™️. Allow me to weigh in.
We can all agree that the finale was absolute dogshit, right? I've seen a lot of commentary about the character assassination of Number Five, and the cursed as fuck crack ship that should've stayed in the deep recesses of ao3, where no one could find it. But there was also absolutely no character development for any of them in the end? Not really?
Luther still has unresolved daddy issues (why else would he be squatting in the condemned building of the Academy?). And he just, what, gave up looking for his wife? Luther "loverboy" Hargreeves. The man who chased and pined for Allison almost his entire life gave up on HIS WIFE after/within six years? No way.
Diego's character basically went nowhere. Four seasons, and he still didn't come to any kind of realisation that, hey, maybe he is enough. No. If he isn't in Luther's shadow, he's insecure about his marriage, or his powers, and being "strong enough." Everything was a competition to him, even though he was the only one competing. He deserved a little bit of self-love, but apparently, "self-destruct" is all he gets.
Allison had her ups and downs, and they let her end on a fucking down? Her arch was the most disappointing. We literally see her trying to be a better, more honest person in s1, and then a human rights activist in s2. Her powers are morally grey, sure, but she had so much potential. Then she just straight up becomes a villain and has barely any redemption for it? Her character started on a high. It was natural progression for her to hit a low. But not that low. And she never really came back up from it. In six years, it seemed like she made no real effort to make up for what she did. A couple of good decisions do not make up for a multitude of bad ones.
Which brings me to Klaus. I wasn't sold on sober, germaphobe Klaus to begin with. I thought it was just a little bit too out of character. But I'll take that any day than what happened to him this season. And to his credit, his hypochondria after losing his powers at least made sense. But he'd made so much progress, not just on his sobriety but on embracing his powers rather than being afraid. (Also, he and Allison being codependent on each other like that was not healthy).
This season made Ben, as a character, pretty much pointless. From the beginning, it seemed like his death was supposed to bring the Academy together, narratively speaking. It was his "purpose" to die and become a sort of martyr to his siblings (I mean, it didn't work, so even then, Ben kinda died unnecessarily). But in reality, his death wasn't a teachable moment, it was just murder. And without Ben, the story still would have ended the same way. Any of the children born from the marigold could have brought about the cleanse, it didn't necessarily HAVE to be Ben. And with the number of timelines there were, it was probably inevitable that it would happen in at least one of them. They all died pointlessly, but Ben's deaths were especially pointless.
Viktor was about the only character that DID have some development. He finally stood up to his father and received at least some validation for his mistreatment as a kid. Not that it ended up mattering because his relationship with his siblings was practically non-existent at this point. All he'd ever wanted was to be a part of the team, and yet apparently made no effort in six years to see his siblings and actually be a part of the family. It makes no sense for his character.
I hate that Lila was a damsel in distress for most of this season. She's a grown woman who we know is fully capable of standing up for herself, but it felt like she was reduced to just her role in the family. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with being a mother or a wife, but that seemed to be ALL her character was this season, when we know she's more than that. The one thing she got to herself was taken away from her coz it hurt "poor Diego's feelings 🥺". Grow up 🙄. And I am not touching the other thing with a ten foot barge pole.
Now, obviously, there's Five. People have already talked about how his character was completely butchered this season. No, Five of the past would not have given up so easily. Despite the jabs and the squabbling, Five loved his family. He fought hard to get back to them when he was stranded. After a struggle like that, why the fuck WOULD he stop fighting to keep his family together?
I'm not saying all of these characters had to be good, outstanding citizens by the end of the show. But they should have at least had a journey from season one. Instead, they either went backwards or in circles. And in the end, none of it mattered anyway.
This season was so fucking stupid. It completely undermined the rest of the story. What was the point in literally anything that happened in the previous seasons if it was just leading up to all of it being erased? This is some, "and it was all a dream" bullshit, and I'm not here for it.

PORN STAR: We're [patient and his wife are] both busy with our own stuff. Think what you want, but we're proud of what we do. CAMERON: Divorcing sex from all emotional content? PORN STAR 2: Emotion is emotional. Sex is mechanical. There doesn't really need to be any overlap. CAMERON: Certainly not in your world. (teamwork)
CHASE: The first time you slept with me was because you were on crystal meth. CAMERON: I was on the drugs because I was emotional. It was the emotions that led to the sex, not the drugs. CHASE: Not true. After that, you refused to let it go further than just sex. CAMERON: Because I knew I was falling for you and I didn't want to. (lockdown)
these s6 retcons are so funny to me, because i actually think this was what the show intended all along, they're not meant to be retcons. they're funny because they absolutely are: s2/fwb arc camchase gave us almost no inkling that cameron had feelings, that she was already vaguely interested in chase in s2, that she had feelings for him in s3 until the last minute. and then s6 comes in with cameron confidentally stating with chase in the room that "all sex should be emotional, intimacy matters," followed by lockdown's "no, i had feelings from the start." it's so funny.
but i do think it's the intended read, because we actually do see/hear this in S3, we are told directly that cameron has feelings for chase… it's just we don't hear it from cameron.
CAMERON: I didn't realize you were going to get hurt. I'm sorry I misled you. CHASE: You didn't. You have feelings for me. You come back to me again and again. CAMERON: For sex. It's a simple, physical… CHASE: C'mon, you have feelings for puppies and patients that you barely know, but when it comes to a guy that you've worked with for three years? Had sex with, spent the night with, you're telling me you feel nothing? Absolutely nothing? (act your age)
the thing is: he is absolutely correct. cameron spends all of act your age acting dumped and heartbroken, chase pointing out it's not fair she gets to be the hurt one when he got dumped. even before that, there's plenty of signs cameron is pretty terrible at this whole emotionless sex thing: she spends all her time with chase in and out of work, pretty consistently refers to their arrangement as a relationship (chase even correcting her once), spends nights with him, goes into work with him, etc. they're eating most meals together. and that's on top of their pre-existing friendship: cameron and chase have always been work friends, he is the person she talks with about relationships and her crush on house (hilariously).
chase in act your age / with his whole tuesday routine isn't trying to woo her, he's calling her bluff, and he knows it. chase, himself, is not a huge risk taker: it's actually kind of wild he's putting himself out there and setting himself up for heartbreak, giving his MO and stated "never care about anything" philosophy (that he is himself bad at, but he tries). tbh, for chase to even feel confident enough to pursue her openly is pretty telling. he was pretty fucking convinced cameron was full of shit. he was right.
but the s6 retcon dialogue is so funny. they're on the verge of breaking up. she's off the show. and yet cameron still takes the time to clarify "actually, i don't believe in emotionless sex and had a crush on chase this whole time :)" . in fact i believe her. it is still objectively deeply hilarious.

Wenclair as a ship in itself I understand. It can be fun, and interpretation is up to the fan content creator. Wyler, Wenvier, Enjax, Wenclay and AroAce Wednesday I think are all equally valid interpretations. Just as any other combination.
Shipping non canon relationships is a choice made by personal preference.
I less understand the expectations of Wenclair being actually possible to become canon. I feel like it’s only possible in the sense that “anything is possible” because no one can ever truly predict the future.
However,
Tim Burton does not have a history of producing LGBTQ+ focused projects. There are barely any background characters that are prominently and explicitly queer in his long CV.
The Ottingers are outliers and background characters with a second of screentime. I have doubts we’ll ever see them again, and honestly, they are the farthest I think Burton is willing to go.
Millar also doesn’t have a history of writing main cast LGBTQ+. He and Gough only reference the relationship between Enid and Wednesday as “friendship” and “sisterhood” when confronted with the idea of Wenclair. (NME, 24 Dec 2023).
Netflix has a documented poor history of treatment of shows with prominent lesbian leads (First Kill, I Am Not OK With This, and Warrior Nun).
Given all of that, I’m also not in the writers’ room, so time will ultimately tell if my skepticism is warranted.
Nonetheless, there is overwhelming evidence that Wenclairs have detrimentally affected Jenna and Emma. I don’t see them wanting Wenclair to happen and they certainly aren’t entertaining the mere possibility of it any longer.
Jenna has not mentioned Wenclair in a positive light since that one interview in Teen Vogue, 9 Dec 2022. It’s been over a year since; a lot of stuff has happened. Plenty of reasons for Jenna to have changed her mind.
Emma made a non-committal comment about “how anything is possible” when it comes to S2 and Wenclair. (Variety, 30 Jan 2023)  But, again, that was over a year ago and a lot of toxic behaviour has happened since then.
Just as with Jenna, Emma has a lot of motivation now to not support Wenclair becoming canon.
Emma also pushed off the possibility of Wenclair beyond S2, she gave the excuse of Wednesday needing a “season of singleness.” Id. Wednesday WAS single in S1, she never claimed anyone as an SO. It sounds more like Emma was a hostage trying to appease her kidnappers by telling them what they wanted to hear. She pushed off the idea of Wenclair to a season that’s not guaranteed to materialize. That’s called passing the buck. If S3 never happens, then she’s not responsible for adhering to an implied promise of Wenclair being possible at all.
Now, Emma has made it a point to stress that shipping is fine as long as it doesn’t cross over into real people. (NME, 27 June 2024).
Wenclairs failed to do that in a spectacular fashion.
Emma admits that Wenclair was a joke they told amongst themselves when it first became apparent it was a popular ship. Id. Wenclair is “funny” to them because they never intended for it to be a ship, but fans choose to interpret it that way.
People ran with Jenna’s comments, but I believe she was supporting it in jest in the way Emma reported in June. Jenna even framed Wenclair only happening in “a perfect world.” (9 Dec 2022) She said it would only happen in an impossible circumstance. I don’t get how people took that to mean she was trying behind the scenes to make it happen, or that it was a secret interpretation fans were meant to figure out on their own.
I think if she knew how much her “fans” would sexually harass her and Emma with the idea of Wenclair, she would not have said it at all. I think with how careful Jenna is with what she posts now, she knows better to say things off the cuff or in jest.
Wenclairs have taught her harsh lessons on how to interact with social media and interviews.
I think it says a lot that Jenna has only been photographed with her stylist in the past several years. She has had plenty of opportunities to do pictures with the cast since filming started, specifically Emma and yet…
Wenclairs have been so rabid and hostile to anyone challenging their fantasy that she only feels safe being seen with Enrique Melendez, her employee, or her family. That’s not normal.
I think there’s a reason why Wenclairs hyperfocus on Jenna making the ship happen and not Emma.
Jenna clearly doesn’t mind doing roles that involve sapphic elements (Miller’s Girl and The Fallout). The same cannot be said about Emma. Wenclairs are so quick to jump on Jenna’s CV of “kissing women” and pointing to that as proof of her queerness. By THEIR same logic, what does it mean if Emma has not done any role where she kisses women?
Jenna’s a great actress and I think could have chemistry and a rapport with a tree if the script called for it. I think she didn’t mind the idea of Wenclair at the time (regardless of how farfetched the possibility was or that it was never originally or seriously considered), but I don’t think she ever intended for people to interpret her characterization of Wednesday that way.
I think both Jenna and Emma regret implying or joking about the possibility of Wenclair as the fans started to sexually harass them on IG with comments on how they are for sure lesbians (neither have stated so) under their posts that have nothing to do with the other as well as everywhere else. Neither can celebrate their own separate accomplishments without Wenclairs mentioning the ship or obnoxiously asking “Where’s Jenna/Emma?”
Wenclairs also post explicit art of Jenna and Emma’s likeness in public forums such as Twitter/IG (and tag them or send it to them directly), and harass male coworkers Jenna has romantic scenes with (Finest Kind). Emma’s male co-star in AGGGTM has also experienced harassment.
Jenna has outright said she quit Twitter because she was sent explicit AI art of herself right after Wednesday took off.
I 100% believe it was sent by a Wenclair account and it was sexual Wenclair art, given the timing and their appalling behaviour to date.
“I ended up deleting [Twitter] about two, three years ago because of the influx after [Wednesday] had come out, these absurd images and photos, and I already was in a confused state that I just deleted it…It was disgusting, and it made me feel bad. It made me feel uncomfortable” (Entertainment Weekly, 25 Aug 2024) (emphasis added).
I think Jenna coming out and specifically saying there would be no romance for Wednesday (Digital Spy, 8 June 2023) after the December 2022 article is another direct consequence of Wenclair harassment. She changed her tune very explicitly and Netflix has not contradicted her, nor have the showrunners, writers, or Burton ever shown committed support for Wenclair. At most it’s “we’re open to it,” and that was before the harassment got as bad as it is.
Jenna’s playfulness is completely absent in all these interviews since Wenclairs started to harass her. Whatever they were “open to,” the Wenclairs shut it violently.
I wasn’t aware until recently that the Wenclairs were so creepy, invasive, and lacking even the barest of social graces that they were also harassing Jenna’s family.
Here is Aliyah, Jenna’s sister, scoffing and clearly exasperated by the shipping. I highly doubt this frustration comes from being asked just once, she’s probably fielded this question way too many times. She no longer follows Emma on IG.
There are also reports of other IG Lives by Aliyah outright stating that the shipping was out of control and detrimental to their family. Of course Wenclairs are completely crickets about this.
It’s bad enough Wenclairs shove their personal fantasies in Jenna and Emma’s face, but they do it to their siblings? Likely when the siblings were minors or barely adults as Aliyah is only 20.
Emma in the Variety, 30 Jan 2023 article also says her sister would show her stuff, meaning her family was also getting exposed to it.
The latest Vanity Fair article states that Jenna won’t ever make any romantic relationship public. (6 August 2024). She states that her relationships are “hers” and that her fans can’t separate the real her and the celebrity they have built up in her head. Id.
She makes an effort to use gender neutral terms when it comes to a romantic partner. I respect that she doesn’t want to come out as either heterosexual, homosexual, or anywhere in between or outside of the binary. That is her choice, I think there’s a vast difference between keeping things private and being in the closet. Either way it’s also NONE OF ANYONE’S BUSINESS.
But I think it’s undeniable that even though she would get a lot of support if she were queer, Wenclairs have made it so unbearable that she won’t reveal a partner or come out at all.
Wenclairs have made it unsafe and hostile for her to acknowledge her own sexuality publicly, much less a partner.
I think it’s too late for Wenclairs to back off, it looks like they already ruined the friendship or at best drove it underground if the total lack of social media content of them together is indicative of anything.
If they are still friends, then they don’t trust Wenclairs with knowing about it and don’t want to share it with them. It looks like Jenna doesn’t want to share any friendship publicly anymore.
Unless it’s to promo movies or a brand deal, she rarely posts pictures on social media anymore. It’s very rare she posts personal pictures of herself doing non-work outings. She’s keeping her personal life extremely close to her chest.
How exactly do Wenclairs expect a friendship to survive constant, sexual harassment? How can they hang out together when everything they do together is sexualized? Why would anyone think the actresses would encourage a storyline that would invite more?
How do they expect Jenna to support Wenclair to become canon if it means her future male coworkers will be harassed? If it means any romantic partner who isn’t Emma in the future will be harassed? If it means that if she were indeed involved with Emma, that there would probably be a bigger explosion of porn that is shoved in their face?
How do they expect Jenna or Emma to support Wenclair if their families are being harassed about it?
Wenclair has been a curse upon them, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

Viktor observations (S2, Act 1)
Viktor’s not in this scene, but when Mel says her mother is making a play for hextech Jayce responds, while looking at the gauntlets and hammer, “I promised Viktor, never again”. Which. First, Jayce should stop making promises to Viktor, he’s clearly terrible at keeping them. Second, Jayce clearly did confess to what he’d done during the conversation where he and Viktor were planning peace with Silco. And Viktor has not yet confessed to Sky’s death (although Jayce’s actions were far more relevant to their political play.)
*
Jayce really left Mel trying to protect him from being asked for hextech weapons while he made them for Caitlyn behind her back. On the one hand this has no place in a Viktor analysis, on the other it does because why is Jayce so fucking bad at keeping people in the loop? He makes all his decisions on the spur of the moment and no one except the person right in front of him when he makes them gets a say.
Being Jayce’s partner for seven years sounds extremely frustrating. Viktor never really wanted to be involved in the non-technical aspects of hextech but in some ways that makes it worse. There’s a dynamic there that encourages Viktor to accept Jayce making decisions and promises without him because otherwise he’d have to interact with their sponsors.
*
The first time I saw the scene where Viktor wakes up, rather than thinking his ability to either feel or show emotions was being impacted by the Arcane, I thought he was in shock. I’m still not sure he isn’t, in addition to anything else. After receiving a terminal diagnosis, accidentally killing Sky, trying to kill himself, being killed by a missile, and being brought back to life in about a week it would be extremely understandable.
The first thing he does is pick up his crutch. That’s been habit for most of his life - although he does also seem to be having a little difficulty walking. Both his feet are turning in slightly, rather than his bad leg turning all the way in, but he’s still not walking easily.
Viktor is so hard to read as the Herald. His body language has always shut down more when he’s uncomfortable, but now it’s almost entirely obscured by how awkward he seems to find existing in this body. His voice has always been fairly level, too. But his face always gave him away before, and now he barely has an expression. His eyes haven’t just changed colour, they’ve lost their watchfulness. You could almost always see what Viktor was thinking about because his gaze followed things or people, puzzling them out, but now he just looks vague.
You know what? It’s interesting that Viktor’s new empathic abilities don’t kick in here and definitely comes across as the hexcore using him. If he’d immediately understood Jayce’s pain and Jayce’s reasons he would have fallen into them the way he does almost everyone else’s, but the hexcore wants him separate from Jayce. It wants to isolate him. (And even though Viktor’s first two brushes with the Arcane are, pragmatically, caused by spilling blood I think it’s relevant that the vision of how to build the hexcore comes the first time Jayce ignores him to focus on council business and the communion with the hexcore comes when he’s struggling with a problem alone while Jayce is at a concert.) It feels like the Arcane actively going after someone who is both socially isolated and bad at being alone.
I never thought Sky was the real thing, she’s too calm, even from the beginning, but I did think she was a hallucination rather than… well she is a hallucination, but according to World of God a hexcore induced one rather than just Viktor imagining her. The hexcore using her form makes it another form of manipulation, rather than Viktor’s guilt.
Viktor is very much set up to see his choices as her or Jayce, which serves the purpose of both pulling him away from Jayce (trying to pursue Sky’s dreams with Jayce is not an option he’s given) and making it easier for him to leave Jayce because it doesn’t look like he’ll be alone. He’ll have Sky. And also he feels like he owes Sky while, if anything, Jayce owes him for two very obviously broken promises (the weapon blueprints are right there).
“Our paths diverged long ago. It was… affection that held us together.”
My first impulse here was to laugh at Viktor a bit for being dramatic, because it’s been barely more than a week since we could see them getting along fine and pursuing the same goals, putting together their showcase for Heimerdinger on Progress Day. I can believe it felt longer for him since it’s been a really dreadful week, but even so.
Then, I considered. In a lot of ways Viktor has got less out of hextech than Jayce has. For one thing the magic aspects were Jayce’s dream, but mostly the hexgates are something Jayce is proud of. They’re not the main thing he wanted to do, but they are something he’s happy to have done, he’s brought people together, made travel easier, brought in new ideas. For Viktor they’re not something he can be proud of at all, they’re a compromise he made to build capital for things he then found he’d die before completing. It’s not just that his contribution to them may well be forgotten, they’re not the legacy he wants at all. In a lot of ways, what Viktor got out of hextech was Jayce’s companionship. Affection has held him to this project, because in his mind his ability to help with hextech is the only reason Jayce would have for being friends with him. Which is likely the emotional reason for him leaving now. He’s no longer willing to work with hextech, which means he cannot continue to work with Jayce.
It’s hard to tell whether Viktor is angry or just sad… I think the main impression I get, during the hug, during the argument, everything, is that Viktor is already mentally gone as soon as he emerges. He doesn’t have any desire to talk things out with Jayce or do anything but extract himself with the minimum of pain for both of them. He’s a bit angry with Jayce, a bit sorry for him, he pities him enough to hug him back, but he’s not going to open up.
*
If Jayce hadn’t fallen into the wildrune (by POKING it) then I think him sleeping in the lab would have worked eventually. Viktor’s resolve to stay away seems to have worn off long before Jayce returned.
*
Jinx fixing Sevika’s prosthetic right before the first time Viktor heals someone feels relevant just in that it gives us a balance. The show is not thematically against prosthetics, or people using technology to augment their bodies.
*
Wandering through Zaun wearing nothing but a blanket is definitely the behaviour of someone in shock.
Also kind of parallel to Heimerdinger after he got removed from the council, wandering through Zaun in his little cloak, seeing all the suffering and not even knowing where to start with doing anything about it. No wonder Viktor accepts the Arcane’s guidance when it lays out a trail for him.
I’m not sure whether Viktor’s lack of fear in the face of Huck pointing a knife at him is because the hexcore is messing with his emotions, or because he doesn’t care whether he dies right now. Throwing empathic powers at him when he’s already this messed up feels cruel, he’s susceptible to other people’s suffering already, beaming it directly into his head is too much.
Huck’s bald spot getting healed feels relevant to how far things go later. The conflation of aesthetics with healing and also the inevitably blurred line between what is natural change in a body and what is damage. Is going bald something that needs healing? The body didn’t start out bald, but it didn’t start out adult either, where do you go back to?
Sky smiling at the end is…
Viktor told Jayce once, a long time ago, “Do you think it was my life’s ambition to be an assistant?” but in a way he has been because he can’t imagine what he could do but help others. Hextech was Jayce’s dream and even now Viktor looks to Sky for approval, lets her lead him. For all his confidence when arguing against things, protesting that something is unthinkable, the things he does do are always someone else’s idea.
I do applaud the way that Viktor seems so off from his usual personality with this weird mysticism, with, “you need not suffer any longer,” said as a proclamation, and yet none of it is something Viktor wouldn’t do. Even the mysticism - this is someone who had a vision of a device the Arcane could act through freely instead of being controlled to a specific purpose and immediately built it.
*
We end Act 1 with Viktor, Jayce and Mel all having been dragged into semi-unrelated magic bullshit which will consume them for several months.

Does anyone else think Stella and Fredrika got done dirty in season 3?
I know they're generally not that well loved in the fandom anyway and while they have their bitchy, gossipy moments they still weren't actually "mean girls" imo and had their sweet, nice moments too. They genuinely love and care about Felice and they also did more than just tolerate Sara while she was a part of the friend group. They both got more depth in s2 that emphasised Stella's and Fredrika's bond as best friends and we got a cute wlw subplot that made sense as progression from s1.
But in s3 it felt like they were just relegated to the rich, spoiled girls with no real character growth. They were sort of trying but were rather insensitive and not understanding overall towards Felice's feelings and situation regarding her friendship break up with Sara and her racism experiences she told them about. They kind of pressured Felice about the hillerska investigation and were mad the truth came out and yelled at her about it in the finale.
That being said, I'm not hating on them, I just thought it was sad that they were presented as being not good and true friends and apparently ones Felice should ditch and the only true friend at the end appears to be Sara (which also does Madison dirty but let's not get into that). I would've loved to see them growing and learning more throughout the season (maybe also reconcile with Sara) and actually taking these allegations more seriously and understanding the problems in the system including racism and classism and maybe taking their time into questioning and unlearning their own behavior or that it at least hints at that. But they seemed to have ended the show with no proper reflection and indication they have evolved and learned anything.
What was especially disheartening that their own wlw story also got shortened and barely had any progression throughout. The kiss in the finale came kinda out of nowhere, there was no build up to it, their feelings were never addressed, the last time was Stella to Sara at the valentine's ball in s2 but we knew nothing about Fredrika's (except for one little jealousy moment i guess) or even if Felice had any idea about this.
Those were things that could've been elaborated on in s3 and would've made sense to do, instead that kiss scene between them felt like it was put there last minute as if they've almost forgotten to include them and then gave us one small scene that barely lasts 10 seconds that's not even shown from their perspectives and decided that's enough, we let the girls kiss, it's a happy ending, perfect, done. It didn't feel earned and there was no communication or growth (similar to wilmon), it was just another quick wrap up to ensure they're endgame to satisfy the audience.
Now I am not demanding they should've gotten endless amount of screentime, nor was I expecting it. I know they're side characters and their screen time is limited but s2 was proof you could still create significant and meaningful subplots and give them some time to bloom without taking up too much from major arcs. I know some people might disagree but a show always benefits from developing their side characters more and allowing them to have a place and have depth and growth. And yr had done that beautifully before and they didn't feel like one dimensional characters but more complex. It is possible to give them a satisfying arc and conclusion without sacrificing a lot of time for it.
S3 made Stella and Fredrika feel like mere plot devices for Felice's arc to get to the point of her realising they're not genuine friends and dump them. They were not treated with the same grace to be allowed to have time to learn and grow within and outside of their romance story and it's upsetting because I like them and I want to like them and I wanna be able to talk about them without having to justify myself and see people hating on them or calling them "evil".
I think they are more than that and were generally presented as more than that. It's okay if they are also the 'bitchy, gossipy' ones but I wish they didn't just stay the 'rich, spoiled, mean' girls in the end and nothing else. S3 made it more difficult instead of less to be sympathetic towards them and that is not the development I wanted for them in the show and in terms of their role in the fandom.

u know that scene in ep 3, "the base violence neccessary for change", where silco is giving his speech to vander and sevika is standing there just smoking? i like to think someone invited her to the building and its genuinely the first time she heard silco's pitch.
all of silco's goons are doing something and im supposed to believe she's on her smoke break or something? its perfectly plausible that she's standing there because no told her to do anything. she just goes with it to see the night through. i like the idea of her smoking there and overhearing silco say "i just need to scare them. they won't dare set foot in the underground again." in regards to the fight against piltover and believing his words. she understands that topside WON'T touch a shimmer-infested undercity. even if the undercity lost the initial fight, they'll go from "treat as less than" to "stay away from at all costs" in the eyes of piltover.
plus it makes so much sense why she understands how important sending a message is to topside. she says in the s2 trailer "you have the chance to rally the undercity together. you're a symbol" i interpret this as sevika is loyal to the symbol of Zaun. At some point Vander was the symbol. Vander "built the underground" where solidary kept people alive. but now that tension has heated back up for war, shimmer becomes the symbol of zaun. the "base violence neccessary for change"
plus she just stands in back of the group here, just barely associating herself with him.
Tumblr media
silco's gang is ready and running to fight, but sevika isn't. the amount of time she spends just stand there borders on comedic because you're telling me this badass woman is the LEAST involved in all the fighting?? to reiterate, silco hasn't done anything with sevika, never gave her instructions. so she's doing what she can to show her alliance. might not even know her name at that point.
this also makes silco holding sevika back even funnier because she was ready to step in and show him what she can do for the cause. but silco isn't sending someone he doesn't know over to fight on his behalf.
and so finally sevika manages to do SOMETHING for the cause, after silco has used his every resource to take out vander. she pushes silco from the explosion as her show of loyalty.
