I actually wanted to talk a bit more about the Irish marauders headcanons

I hc Lily and Peter as both Irish (for some reason Peter gives off northern vibes lol)

Lily grew up beside her grandparents farm.

She she used to play there and often spent time taking of and playing with the animals

She went to a gaelscoil for primary school which is why she’s speaks Irish fluently

Peter is half Catholic (his mum) and half Protestant (his da)

He was born in the north and went to a Protestant all boys primary school

He goes to a Gaeltacht for 2 weeks every summer because he wants to connect with that part of his identity and learn the language

When they both started at hogwarts they both immediately connected and often make jokes about “hating the British” and saying things like “that’s very English of him isn’t it”

I don’t know how I feel about Peter having a northern Irish accent or not but if he does has a hint of it and lily’s the only one that understands him when he says certain things

Lily has a very big family with almost 20 cousins on both sides

Peter is a heavy weight, he out drinks each of the marauders ever night out

Lily learned how to Irish dance in primary school but she only remembers the basics

It takes them both a minimum of 45mins to leave after saying goodbye

Peter makes all the marauders watch the late late toy show with him every year

Lily wears the claddagh ring her mum gave her and she explains the meaning to James before she turns it when they start dating

Anyway there’s are loosely based off stuff from my own childhood and teen years so if something doesn’t make sense I don’t know how to explain it lol

Ok so been thinking about this to much and now I want to propose this.

It's an international school so everyone has different nationality:

Barty: italian 100% he is coming from some sort of fancy city like venice

Dorcas: she gives me arabic vibes like maybe egypt or something

Evan: canadian french no questions asked

James: either latino or hindi idk i love both

Lily: obiviously irish because of her red hair

Marlene: i thought i every saw asian marlene and i love it but hear me out, scandinavic marlene.

Mary: she is giving proud afro american

Pandora: canadian french like evan. I like to think they live in quebec

Peter: south germany. he is this country boy, hiking 15 kilometers just to have a nice view and south germany is perfect for that.

Regulus: french do i even have to explain

Remus: i know he is welsh but hear me out again, dutch remus. His height would make more sense then because dutchies are giants

Sirius: do i even have to say this

Marauders muggle au where Sirius and Regulus get send away an international school somewhere outside the uk because "maybe distance will fix their behaviour" but instead the meet marauders&co and have the best schooltime ever. After graduation they make a roadtrip through every country that someones roots lay and eventually settle all around the world

hc that peter knows a bunch of languages bc he already grew up knowing 3 languages (both of this parents know languages other than English) and he picks up languages really easily, so a bunch of his friends will all be speaking in theyre first languages and Peter will just casually respond in the same language and they'll js have to do a double take for a moment

The problem with cute Jily fics is that you know they don't end happily but you get your hopes up anyway.

"And people treat you like you don't belong here too," Lily said when Mary stayed quiet.

"I'm sick of it all! I want to belong, I want to feel safe! I just want to be treated for what I do and not how I was born," Mary slumped into Lily's side.

"I never thought about how lucky I was that back home no one treats me poorly, I wish you didn't have to go through that," Lily wraps her arms around Mary, hugging her.

"Remember that magic is ours as much as anyone elses, no one can take that away from us,"

"And I promise you'll always belong with me," Lily stayed next to Mary gently rubbing her back in soothing circles.

"Thanks Lily," Mary said letting out a smile "You belong with me too,"

A conversation I had in lecture today as marauders characters

Marlene: do you know how to play Gaelic football?

Lily: barley

Marlene: what do you mean?

Lily: I can’t solo for my life and you need to solo to move like how you need to dribble when you play basketball

Lily: why do you ask?

Marlene: I saw the Uni has a Gaelic football team :)

most of the parts of the fic ive written so far either dont include lily yet or raea (the name reg chooses later on in the fic, i can explain the meaning in a separate post if yall would like) doesnt use she/her yet bc she hasnt realized that shes trans at that point in the fic, so this is truly a crumb but here you go!

“I’m sorry.”

Lily lets out a little sigh. “For what, crying?”

“No, not that,” she says in a mumble, the weight of the words too heavy to be spoken louder. For a brief moment, the hand on her cheek ceases movement and her stomach drops. This is it, she thinks. This is when she’ll finally leave.

“Regulus.” Lily’s free hand comes up to cup her other cheek, cradling her face gently. “Look at me.”

Another silent tear is wiped away as quickly as it falls and she lets out a shuddering breath, squeezing her eyes shut even tighter.

“Mo réalta,” she whispers, and Regulus’ gut swoops. She opens her eyes.

The first thing she sees is Lily, staring at her. Regulus’ face is wet and blotchy, and her eyelashes are clumped thick with tears. She feels gross. She’s sure she looks gross, too. And yet, Lily just… looks at her, truly looks at her. Her gaze pierces right through Regulus’ soul, and the very Earth falls beneath their feet.

“You don’t need to apologise for being yourself,” Lily says softly.

what’s your thoughts on Jewish lily evans

I LOVE HER I LOVE HER I LOVE HER . my lily is patrilineal and struggles to find a space she truly fits into . she will never be wizard and she will never be muggle she will never be fully accepted as jewish but goyim will never accept her either . she’s desperate for a place she is validated and belongs too. constantly thinking if she’s the perfect wizard perfect daughter perfect jew she will finally earn respect just for it to never work . i think lily’s father passed away and she’s raised by her irish catholic family and while her mom supports her trying to connect to her judaism she doesn’t know how to help her . she wants to try but it isn’t the same. i think befriending remus is very cathartic for her bc she finally had a friend within judaism who 1. views her as jewish and 2. doesn’t judge her for her lack of knowledge and instead helps her grow into her faith. to me judaism is central to lily evans as a character

Heya, I'm looking for help finding a fic I read last year. It was a marauders fic on Ao3, very long and it more or less went through them going through hogwarts. Lily was of Irish origin in the story and at some point someone from her family dies and the gang go to Ireland for the funeral. There's also something to do with her apparating illegaly and she gets a massive fine and herself and Sirius have a bet for a lot of money which she wins but then James tells her Sirius has no money. I also think that in this fic, Regulus is autisitic? It was a great fic but I can't seem to find it so if it rings any bells I'd be very grateful!
