Not to talk about the watcher thing again as I’ve already kind of said my piece, but one of the most batshit insane parts of this whole unbelievable situation is that for some reason they decided that for some fucking reason the BEST time to announce this highly controversial decision was literally DAYS before they would be going on an international tour and having to face irate fans IN PERSON. Guys. What the hell. At least have the sensibility to announce a move that you HAD to have known would make people upset AFTER one of the few times you actually interact in person with your fanbase.

I hope you’re ready to investigate the Tower of London for ghosts, because I have a feeling the Londoners will be more than happy to acquaint you with the building later this week.

I find it weird that people are treating the Watcher situation like a scandal when it was just bad business decision

Don’t get me wrong an INSANELY bad business decision but why would you compare it to the Try Guys situation? Like some people were acting like Shane Madej and Ryan Bergara themselves evicted them and took their dog

The problem with a lot of traffic life interpretations in my opinion is they don't understand character foils or don't employ them in their writing. Grian-Martyn and Scar-Ren are genuinely pretty good character foils for a series that is not really scripted or planned out like a book is. I could go on and on about how they parallel each other and the similarities between them. Even the smaller details between the four usually match up

Listen, you don’t understand how big this is!

That Grian has decided to give us the Watcher symbol on the main build, (the stories’ symbol) of this Life Series game is major! (In the game about Secret Tasks no less!) Like you can not imagine how incredibly considerate that is. It’s so clear that the Life Series players have seen our little headcanons, our love of the game, and decided that they feel comfortable enough to incorporate a small part of them into the series. I’m literally blown away.

And not only that, but we, the viewers, are now able to even submit a task into the game! Do you understand?!? We! Get! To! Interact!! The audience gets to participate this time! (Does that remind you of anything? ;) B/c if you ever watched EVO it probably will XD).

I am just so unbelievably happy that Grian has let this be a part of the serise. Thank you so much Grian! And thank you Martyn for preserving our little headcanons and carrying a part of it into the series! It’s brought so much joy and inspiration throughout the community!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go cry from happiness.

i really don’t understand how some fantasy high enjoyers don’t see the very obvious metaphor for aromantic denial within baron from the baronies in sophomore year. baron is a nightmare creature that came into existence because riz lied about having a partner so his friends wouldn’t bother him about it? he made up baron when his friends were all talking about the people they wanted to kiss? how is that not aromantic to some people. maybe it’s more obvious to me because i HAVE been in denial about being aro and made up crushes for myself and tried to pretend i had them. just because i felt it was a thing i needed to do, that it was a thing that EVERYONE had to have a crush and that it was normal. how do you see the confrontation between baron and riz as anything other than accepting aromanticism. this thing, his nightmares personified, says to him “the years will go by, and everyone will find someone that matters more to them than you.” as an aro person yeah that’s gotta be up there with the top ten nightmares.

how do you look at this interaction and NOT see an aromantic boy.

(for further elaboration, yes i am aware that aromantic people CAN want to kiss others and hell yeah power to you, i’m just saying that it’s a common thing to not care about kissing/not want to do it)

and another thing with with the fhigh fandom is that like, some people will go through every loophole they can to try and pair up riz anyways. aromantic people CAN be in relationship, of course, but why would people take this specific boy, who has repeatedly expressed distaste in being in a relationship, and ship him with other people. especially since fabian and riz is a common ship. is it because they’re best friends? is it because people value romance over friendship? oh they’re such close friends they must have a thing! it’s so stupid. why is it, that when a character is asexual (riz, being confirmed asexual), people respect that. they don’t often go “oh yeah i know they’re asexual but asexual people can have sex! or want to have sex! it’s a spectrum!”. (that is true, btw, ace people can have sex and all that. but it’s different when allosexual people do it to try and just make up excuses to not treat asexual characters like they’re asexual.) why do i mostly see it done with aromantic people? one of this boy’s biggest fear is people pairing up and leaving him behind. how do you see that as a boy who WANTS to be in a relationship? do you think he WANTS to pair up as well?

just because it’s not been outwardly confirmed and directly said “riz gukgak is aromantic” doesn’t mean that it’s not true, y’know? there’s subtext, there’s symbolism, there’s metaphors, there’s DIRECT REFERENCES TO RIZ NOT LIKING ROMANCE! i don’t really know how people can see him as alloromantic

i have a lot of complicated feelings about the whole Watcher scenario, but more than anything, I'm angry at the fanbase who lashed out at them so fast and so hard. No remorse, no stopping to consider why they're doing this, no faith in the people they said have saved their lives the last few years... It's like I feel betrayed by the fanbase I thought I was a part of, because I never would have thought the majority of Watcher fans were actually internet bullies, when push comes to shove. And now, no matter what the Boys do, I'm always gonna have this bad taste in my mouth when I'm interacting with their content/fanbase. And I don't blame them for that, as artists who were trying something and then found out it wasn't gonna work for their fanbase, I blame all the people who turned vicious at the drop of a hat. You are the ones who ruined what we had here.
