genuinely would love for some of the "both parties are the same" people to name me a single election in the entirety of the twenty first century where the outcome for the country wouldn't have been better if a democrat had won

status 85% complete unpacking

Ok I've unpacked everything I can without a closet hanger rod, a whole ass wall shelf not yet installed, missing shelf pegs that are currently in my dad's wallet, and no tower PC to speak of (I am not unpacking a single gotdamn cable if I cant plug it into anything that's nuts)

New problem: how do I display an entire bouquet of decorative daggers

I am allowed to put small nails into the wall but only some of these have chains set up

any suggestions? @hellenhighwater I think this is in your wheelhouse??

lemme know in the replies n stuff folks, pls know that my new roommate HAS a 3D printer

#the quiver's gonna be hanging off of the shelf that needs to be installed #there's also two shortswords #but those have chains/straps that allow them to be held up by single pegs/nails

Woo got Linux working! On a related note I have gotten over any fear of breaking things through the command line and also can now roll back to an earlier system backup. Yes those are related. In my defense, breaking things in interesting ways is a great way to figure out what's actually going wrong.

i’m sure people who are spending £100 on a train journey that will inevitably be delayed or cancelled and £40 on a weekly food shop consisting of 3 items, who are stuck on an NHS waiting lists for years, who are living in tiny, mouldy hellholes that can’t be heated because energy bills are also extortionate, etc. etc. will be exceedingly grateful for this brave and bold move by the government. sooo glad they made this an immediate priority after being decimated in the elections on thursday. (x)

and this is right after the government decided that trans people should be treated in separate rooms in hospital because of course that’s affordable and practical for our totally-not-overstretched health service and it won’t be embarrassing and potentially dangerous for anyone involved
