I think is so funny how one piece made me SO interested in war.

Usually I’m just not emotionally invested enough with war in fictions? I'm not a huge fan of fighting and the whole concept and politics of it, but OH GOD.

Oda made the whole summit war saga so ridiculously personal like that’s fucking gramps and ace in the center of it??? like i never felt this emotionally connected to a conflict before like this???

I swear I didn't blink during my entire Marineford binge, I was holding my breath every second, I've never felt so much despair and hope and despair like a damn whiplash of emotions back to back and there wasn't a single moment where I wasn't completely involved in this battle.

Ace's concern for his family and having to watch them DIE in front of him while being forcibly restrained, I bet he's never felt so damn usless in his entire life, like FUCK ME Honestly. The fact that in the end, Luffy did EVERYTHING he could, fought HARD and had no regrets and he actually did it!!!! He succeeded!!! He saved his brother!!

For it to just not be enough in the end???

And then, fuck, getting to post-war afterwards was like a punch in the gut and the warmest hug I've ever received in my entire life.

Understanding ace’s fear of turning his back to his enemies and learning the whole depth of his self depreciating issues and how he was put into this situation of receiving SO MUCH much love and acceptance for who he is regardless of his bloodline, and in the middle of this clusterfuck mess of violence he FINALLY acknowledges that YES!!! he wants to live!! he wants to fight and be with his family.

Him having the realization that he DESERVES to live.

And then the “Thank you for loving me” in luffy’s arms like FUCK ME TEN TIMES OVER AND OVER AGAIN LIKE WHAT THE FUCK.
