Analysing the relationship between macrophages – large, multifunctional cells of the immune system – and fibrosis of the liver resulting from repeated injury and repair in mice reveals the role of a molecule called Piezo1 via which macrophages sense mechanical signals of tissue 'stiffness', alerting them to clear dead cells limiting inflammation and fibrosis

Whats the major injury Talon went through? Would you consider one day making like a timeline sorta thing of Talons long life to the present day?

Talon is a baby in oc years, he's only like, 3, so his Lore has changed so much already, and therefore I don't wanna prematurely make a timeline knowing it may change like. Next week.

Anyway, Talon got the common vampire punishment of being Buried Alive but with the addition of sustaining a brain injury right before. This was done by the same group who Found Out and Scientific Method Proved that his body is very slow to heal wounds, if at all, so it was another dollop of cruelty hoping he'd just never recover and be in barely conscious maimed stasis until, well, idk, maybe we'll dig him up eventually if we remember where we left him. Mending Muscles

Your blood contains cell fragments – platelets – that can supercharge muscle repair. It's why platelet-rich plasma injections are used to treat muscle injuries. Researchers investigate why this works using fluorescence microscopy of uninjured and injured mouse muscles (pictured). Platelets accumulated after injury and antibody treatment to deplete injured muscles of platelets prevented immune cells called neutrophils from accumulating in these muscles. This also impaired repair. As platelets release chemical messengers called cytokines, researchers measured cytokine levels after injury in normal and platelet-depleted muscles. Platelet depletion reduced levels of the neutrophil-attracting cytokines CXCL5 and CXCL7. Comparing muscles from normal mice (before injury, left; 2 weeks later, middle) and those lacking CXCL7 (2 weeks after injury, right), revealed mice lacking CXCL7 recruited fewer neutrophils upon injury and 2 weeks later had smaller muscle fibres (zoom, bottom right). Platelet-derived CXCL7 therefore promotes muscle repair via neutrophils – this pathway could be exploited to boost repair.
