Stolas is grateful for everything Blitz is doing for him but because that’s not blatantly expressed people are whining that Stolas is being ungrateful and mean

Maybe yall just haven’t experienced hard things like for example when my parents died I didn’t exactly thank my husband outwardly for all he was doing for me I was a lot like Stolas, numb and upset and just in autopilot. It doesn’t mean I wasn’t grateful for him being there and helping me.

Blitz isn’t doing it to be thanked, he’s doing it because he loves Stolas and wants to take care of him. Stolas doesn’t need to gush in gratitude, it’s understood.

It’s implied.

Blitzø's Realization & Feelings

I like how Blitz is initially confused the moment Stolas arrives on scene and breaks into song...

He understands that Stolas just saved him from getting his head chopped off, but he still doesn't understand what he's doing at the trial.

After all, in Blitzø’s mind Stolas is over him, and moved on the moment he saw Stolas having the time of his life dancing with BTB.

In Blitzø’s memory reel Stolas has his top eyes open, and I think to Blitzø he reads it as Stolas seeing and relishing in that kiss, in that moment. Blitzø doesn't even consider the fact that it was a drunken kiss.

But the moment Stolas takes all the blame for himself, things take a turn...

It clicks for Blitzø, and he's just in pure and utter shock as he sees just how much Stolas genuinely and truly loves him.

It's at this moment where he says the words, "I don't want to live a life without you by my side."

Blitzø takes this time to finally let his emotions pour out like a fucking waterfall.

Whereas compared to Ghostfuckers he just subtly acknowledges it.

His expression drops from realization to pure panic at Stolas' actions. Blitzø doesn't want to die, but at the same time, he definitely doesn't want someone he cares about to take the fall for him.

"What are you doing!? I don't deserve this!"

"I realized too late!" Blitzø acknowledges that he realized both Stolas’ feelings and his own feelings too late in the game.

Blitzø in Apology Tour didn't understand his own feelings, let alone Stolas’ feelings. He tries to, but he can't.

"Don't give your life to clean my slate."

What I love about this line is that it reads as: Don't sacrifice yourself to absolve me of my crimes. Blitzø makes it clear he doesn't want this.

"You’re my heart."

Blitzø breaks down and says these words because to Blitzø this is what Stolas is, the key to his heart that he's kept locked up for years, and someone he wants to give his whole heart too.

Because Blitzø closed off his heart after the fire. His love is something that he believed could hurt someone, but with Stolas, he's worth that risk.

The moment Stolas is wrapped in chains, Blitzø moves on instinct, almost as if he's trying to get out of his own chains so he can run to Stolas.

Felt like it would be a disservice not to show the clip that destroyed me. 😀

Blitzø, the moment he's freed of his chains Blitzø says the words, "No- no!" in disbelief, shock, and desperation.

Blitzø is so desperate to stop Stolas from what he's doing, begging him to do anything to stop this from happening. And if that meant getting himself killed, he'd do it.

Because he doesn't want a repeat of this happening. It's one thing for people to leave Blitzø, he’s used to that, but it's another to have them die, especially in front of him.

He breaks down when he fears his worse fears have come true: that Stolas is dead and he can't do anything to stop it.

It's why Blitzø is so shocked and surprised the moment he sees Stolas alive, because his worse fears didn't happen.

The moment Blitzø gets the reassurance that he's is loved by Stolas he falls into that caretaking role almost instantly, since he knows Stolas is hurting right now.

He's taking steps being extra gentle, extra reassuring, extra soft, even going as far as to fluff the pillow on his couch.

It vaguely reminds me of how Blitzø is able to sorta gage what people's needs are. In this moment, Blitzø was about to shoot Creepzo, but instead he opts to beat Creepzo with the end of his gun once he realizes Fizz is on the verge of a panic attack.

What I love about this shot is that this is the most at peace Blitzø has ever looked in the entire show.

He's just so grateful that he's alive and that Stolas is alive.

Anyway, wanted to include this bit because I love how Sam Haft pointed out that Blitzø leaves Mastermind more self-actualized.

Whereas for Stolas, he leaves Mastermind more humbled as he gets a taste of how truly privileged he is.

Stolas just standing there and letting blitz hug him in the end is all good, right? He is just sad because of octavia and accepting that blitz is there with him right?? It's not that he regrets chosing him, right??? (I just need affirmation)

You know what? I've found myself needing reassurance about this too. So let's take a moment to look at the facts together, shall we?

(This reply turned out way longer than I expected it to 😅 sorry!)

Fact #1 - Stolas is still coming to terms with the consequences of his actions. He spends the whole episode finding out just how much his life has changed. Learning how to navigate groceries, and laundry, and meals, and having a job, and worrying about money.

Mid-episode, he has a breakdown where he truly questions if everything he gave up was worth it just for a fantasy. At this point in the episode, he still hasn't realised how much he means to Blitz. As far as he's concerned, he did all of this for someone who doesn't reciprocate his feelings. By the end of the episode, though, his feelings have settled enough for him to express what he has known to be true all along: that saving Blitz was the right thing to do.

What Stolas regrets isn't saving Blitz's life, or even loving Blitz in the first place.

What he regrets are the choices he made that led them to this. He feels guilty for selfishly (or, rather, naively) playing out his fantasies. He's the one who established the deal, who let Blitz illegally use the book for many months, who wasn't always sensible about how he expressed his love for Blitz publicly and despite being married, and who allowed himself to ignore the reality of his situation so he could live in his own, personal romcom—all of which ultimately led to the events of Mastermind and the loss of Via.

And all the guilt and regret he's grappling with (however justified it might be) is exacerbated by fact #2, which is:

Fact #2 - Stolas is off his medication. He's been off it for a month now. Symptoms of depression (especially untreated depression) include mood swings, irritability, self-hatred and low self-esteem, passive/active suicidal ideation, pessimism and hopelessness about the future, catastrophising, black-and-white thinking, and anhedonia (inability to feel pleasure and to find joy in things—and people—who used to bring you it). All symptoms Stolas exhibits throughout this episode.

So, even if he shows a lack of emotion toward Blitz at times, or irritation to seemingly minor things like low doors or "secretating" or Karen's behaviour, even if he acts regretful and angry and desolate... a lot of these emotions and behaviours are a result of his depression, and not of actually hating the life he chose.

Fact #3 - Stolas loves Blitz. He always has, and always will. I could point at a thousand different moments in the show when Stolas' love for Blitz has transpired, but I'm going to leave it at his line from Mastermind: "I would rather be dead than live life without you by my side."

Even after everything they've gone through, even now that he's taken Blitz off his pedestal and can acknowledge that Blitz can be a fucking idiot... Stolas simply does not want to live a life without Blitz. It has always been Blitz. It will always be Blitz.

Stolas loves Blitz.

Fact #4 - Stolas kissed Blitz. Before he truly hits rock bottom as a result of Octavia cutting him out, Stolas is so ecstatic that Blitz cares, that Blitz was willing to go to such lengths to save his life, that he can't hold back the need to kiss Blitz mid-air. Suddenly, none of his earlier frustration matters. Nothing matters expect for how elated he is that Blitz loves him back. So he smiles and he pulls Blitz into a kiss because he can't bear not to kiss Blitz for a moment longer.

Look at this man. Look at how happy he is. Because it's always been Blitz, and maybe it was a fantasy for a long time, but it doesn't have to be anymore. Maybe this can be real now. He's so happy he (and I) could cry.

Fact #5 - Stolas didn't deny loving Blitz. When Via said "You don't love me, you love him," the script very purposefully did not have Stolas go "no, no, Via, that's not true—" or say anything else that might make Blitz doubt, even for a moment, that Stolas loves him. Because that much is true. He does love Blitz. He just also loves Via. Which brings me to:

Fact #6 - Blitz knows Stolas loves him. At no point throughout the episode does Blitz doubt, even for a second, that Stolas loves him. And we know this because Blitz's walls remain down at all times. If Blitz doubted he was loved, if he had even the slightest of reservations, those walls would come crawling back up whether he wanted them to or not. It's what he's been trained and conditioned to do—it's how he's kept his heart safe ever since the accident.

But now, he knows his heart is safe with Stolas. He believes it enough to not depend on his walls to feel at ease. He believes it enough to let himself take care of Stolas and be soft with Stolas without the slightest trace of hesitation.

Look at Blitz's face. This is the face of a man who knows that even if Stolas isn't okay right now, things will get better. And when they do, they'll both still be in love with each other. This is the face of a man who can't wait for something beautiful to flourish between them, but who is in no rush to get there. He knows the road ahead is hard and painful, but he has faith in Stolas. In both of them.

Fact #6 - Stolas was happy to share a private, romantic dance with Blitz. Despite everything going through his mind, he found comfort and happiness in dancing with Blitz; in getting to have this little moment with him.

He found relief in the fact that Blitz stayed with him this time, even after Stolas told him, once again, that he didn't have to stay.

His reaction to Blitz initiating a dance between them is genuine surprise, immediately followed by an enamoured little smile at the mere notion that he gets to have this, now.

And, as they dance, he keeps smiling and leaning into Blitz, going as far as to manage a deep, heartfelt laugh at Blitz's words. This, for an unmedicated, depressed person going through one of the worst days of his life, is huge in itself. It shows that, even in the worst of times, he finds undeniable comfort and happiness in Blitz.

And, after their dance, Stolas looks at Blitz with a sobriety and soft sort of realisation that shows he's finally coming to terms with the fact that this is real. After everything he's lost, after all the fantasies he hoped for for so long and believed he'd never have, he finally gets to have this.

Despite the pain he's going through, Stolas looks at Blitz and sees the man he loves.

Notice how Blitz's eyes trail down to Stolas' mouth. And Stolas realises. And doesn't move away. Waiting, expectantly, for Blitz's next move, fully expecting it to be a kiss.

But then Blitz hugs him instead, and Stolas doesn't hug back.

And it's not because he doesn't want to be hugged by Blitz. It's not because his feelings for Blitz have changed, or dimmed, or disappeared. It's not because he regrets loving Blitz, or saving him. It's not because he doesn't want to have a close, healthy, loving romantic relationship with Blitz.

It's because of facts #1 (he's grappling with so much guilt and coming to terms with the consequences of his actions) and #2 (he's experiencing symptoms of unmedicated depression). And, above all, it's because of fact #7, which is...

Fact #7 - Stolas doesn't know how to be loved. Stolas has never had support. He has never had a shoulder to cry on, or someone to hold him when he needed it. When he's feeling vulnerable and broken, he defaults to hugging himself as a way to self-soothe, because that's the only comfort he's ever known.

And because he's never known comfort from others—because it was never allowed or safe for him to need or ask for comfort from others—all Stolas knows to do with his vulnerability is hide it. So much so that, the two times we see him begin to break down in front of Blitz before this episode, he either portals Blitz away or masks his tears and pain immediately. Even as he drunkenly rambles about wanting to be held, he still makes sure not to appear like he actually needs a hug.

So when he finds himself being held by Blitz in a warm, comforting hug, Stolas doesn't know how to respond. Because he's never had this. He's never had an opportunity to learn how to exist in someone's comforting embrace, how to interact with this kind of physical contact. He still has to learn how to feel safe between arms that aren't his own.

Simply put, Stolas still doesn't know how to hold Blitz back.

That doesn't mean Stolas doesn't want or need physical comfort. He needs it desperately—everyone does. But wanting something and knowing how to actually have it are two very different things, and Blitz knows that better than anyone, because he's wanted Stolas for a very long time, but didn't, until very recently, know how to feel safe accepting Stolas' love.

And that's why Blitz is completely understanding of the fact that all Stolas can do, all Stolas has the ability to do, is stand there and let himself be held, and let his emotions go through him. In, and out, with every breath, with every second. And get slowly acquainted with what being comforted by the person he loves feels like.

Thirty-something years of trauma can't be undone in a single hug, or a single conversation, and it's going to take time for Stolas to learn how to be present while in Blitz's arms, and how to return that emotional closeness.

But Blitz has faith in him. Blitz is willing to be patient and soft with him while he gets better. Blitz is ready to meet Stolas where he's at, because he knows, beyond a trace of doubt, that they love one another, and they're going to be okay. Even if Stolas doesn't know it yet—even if we, the audience don't know it yet—Blitz knows.

And that's just going to have to be enough for now.

And because this post got completely away from me, I shall conclude by quoting their song, because it summarises their story better than I ever could:

I will forever stand by the fact that Blitzen and Hearthstone are some of the most interesting characters that Rick Riordan has ever written.

Hearthstone is the first mortal in centuries to practice rune magic, a skill that only Odin possessed before Hearth came along. He faced what I fully believe to be the worst trauma in the riordanverse (people often forget that in addition to being shunned for his deafness, being blamed for his younger brothers death, and having to live with the Wergild, he also had to skin the monster which killed Andiron all by himself at eight years old and he wasn't allowed back inside the house until had finished skinning the entire thing) and despite that, he still managed to return to Alfheim not once but twice to face his father. (and it's implied that it also happened another time prior to the story because Alderman knows who Blitzen is in THoT)

Blitzen is a misfit among dwarves, being the only one of his kind who isn't a builder by nature, but that doesn't mean he doesn't create by nature. He cares so much for fashion that he makes it his own craft despite not being given the recognition for it. He makes his own degree, he turns fashion into something that even the other dwarves can appreciate, and he succeeds in opening his own shop. He shows that he is willing to do anything for his friends on multiple occasions, and he has so much love to give even after losing his father, the only person who ever understood him. Because of this, he is able to recognize being a demigod for what it is, something that many other demigods don't like admitting all the time.

Neither Blitzen nor Hearthstone fit in among their own kind, but together, they form a bond unlike anything else Rick has ever written. Most of the MCGA fandom can't look past them being "not canon," but that's wrong. They aren't "not canon." They're nuanced and complicated with a relationship that might surpass platonic, but maybe it doesn't. (For my good omens fans, I would say they're thoroughly ineffable) That doesn't matter because they love each other, which they state in the text multiple times. Just because it never explicitly says "Blitz and Hearth are in a relationship" doesn't mean that they aren't in love. Just look at the things they do for each other.

Hearthstone, who doesn't show much emotion and is usually very restrained, but whenever he's been separated from Blitz, immediately rushes to hug him. Blitz, who once yelled at Hearth's abusive father with so much unbridled fury that Magnus thought it was Odin himself.

Blitzen can't survive in light, and Heartstone needs light to survive, so Blitz brought sunlight to a world of eternal darkness for Hearth. They call each other "my dwarf" and "my elf." Blitz learned an entire language for Hearth, and he expresses jealousy whenever Inge is around. Hearth faces abuse to save Blitzen even after Blitz begs him not to.

You can't have one without the other. They need each other more than anything else in the nine worlds. They weren't written just for you to go, "Oh boring, they aren't canon because they never kissed"

I want to take apart the use of the word, "dramatic" in the fandom a little and try to understand why it gets applied to Stolas so often and not to Blitz. Because, honestly, they both sort of are . . .

If dramatic means "oozes emotions and makes the audience feel something for them." Both have really intense emotional moments in the show.

The truth is, they also both hold back quite a lot though. (So maybe neither is dramatic?) There are tons of examples, but to save space, here's one of each. We see Stolas forcing his face serene in the middle of a drunken crying session in Apology Tour, and we see Blitz leave rather than let Stolas see him cry in Ozzie's.

And they BOTH don't let the people in their lives see that they're hurting. Stolas wears a mask for Octavia, and Blitz wears a mask for . . . everyone in his life, really . . . Until recently, both wore masks for each other pretty much constantly too. But when they're each alone, we see the truth.

Okay, so obviously it comes down to presentation, right? Specifically gender presentation . . .

Stolas gets judged as dramatic (and even whiny or self-absorbed in anti circles) because he laments in deep, lofty ballads, with make-up dripping down his face, which is honestly such a win for all the grown-up emo kids watching. He relates to soap opera protagonists and wants to be chased after while he's boarding a train. He reads romance novels.

In short, when he expresses emotions, when he consumes media about romance . . . he's being traditionally "feminine." (A note: this is also why he's often portrayed by fans as "the woman" in the relationship- and that can have its own problems, since, yes, this is a gay relationship between two men, and regardless of gender presentation, neither needs to be "the woman.")

Blitz on the other hand . . . well. He's not masculine in every way either, is he? He loves to crossdress for fun work. When he's enjoying his down time, he's watching two cutesy horses kissing.

But he expresses emotions in ways that are socially accepted as masculine. Namely, anger. It's not dramatic to do any of this, is it?

He calls listening to love ballads "gay . . ." oh, and he uses the same insult for Stolas . . . you know . . . trying to talk about emotions with him. So, for better or worse (worse- this is a bad thing), he's pretty deeply entrenched in society's expectations of masculinity. Or anyway, he performs it more convincingly than Stolas does. Well enough, it seems, to convince some viewers that he's 1) just an asshole with no depth and/or 2) just a chill and badass regular dude man.

But here's the kicker. NEITHER of these characters are wrong for having emotions and expressing them. It's a good thing actually.

In the world of the show, expression heals. Singing helps Stolas process the changes in his life. His decision to tell Blitz how he feels WILL ultimately help them both with their character development. Blitz ends up happier than he's been in a long time and manages to repair a friendship after 15 years apart once he explains his emotional experience to Fizz and cries. Accepting some emotions other than anger in Apology Tour (even if he's far from finished processing them) enables Blitz to grow profoundly as a person.

Literally just imagined the poly Asmodeus X Imp!Reader X Fizzarolli where Reader joins Fizzarolli to the Greed Ring (Ozzie didn’t want either to go alone) and it resulted in both Reader and Fizzy getting kidnapped with Blitzø. That random message would have Sttiker having to deal with both Fizz and Reader struggling against him.

Reader would be totally trying to tell Ozzie not to give into the ransom demands.

- you told Ozzie you’d go with fizz to make him feel better fizz was happy due to how well they both knew you could handle yourself which was why Ozzie gave so easily and let you both you.

- after breakfast you and fizz headed off. I was supposed to be lowkey and quick. So you’d decided to only bring a knife. Fizz and the pups hop out of the car attracting attention, you weren’t surprised.

- the little cuties ended up dragging fizz off somewhere. You hurry behind them and fizz gets knocked into someone! You help pick him up before making eye contact with blitzo.

- fizz dusts himself off before the verbal conflict starts. You sit and watch now being sure who this imp was at first. That was until fizz said his name.

- they started arguing and you tried to calm fizz down and next thing you knew boom! You we’re all tied up and in someone dingy ass office- now you’re all being held for Ransom….

- the call is made to let Ozzie know and you told him calmly to keep a cool head and relax. To think things through before he came running down to greed and Willy nilly.

- your not sure if it helped cause it was a recording…. You hope it did. In the mean time you’d all been caged up in the air. You sat there quietly while you looked around and tried to figure out a safe way to get you and fizz out.

- you’re taken aback by fizz and blitzo arguing. And you ended up tuning in. But when fizz started crying a bit and said how he just wanted to go home. You’d used your knife to cut yourself and fizz free. Blitzo was surprised but used his Knives boot to free himself.

- he told you both to just watch and you did while he worked his magic. Next thing you all knew everyone was dead and you were all free. Huh… crazy right?

- you looked around for somewhere to go and then crimson and striker came back in. You grabbed fizz and you and blitz made a run for cover. Shots are fired and bad guys pop up and you fiend them off while the boys talk out their problems.

- when it comes for fizz to distract them you just watched until he got to his Italian bit and dragged you into it and spun you around while blitzo finished trying to open the exit.

- All 3 of you make it out. And your ready to go hopping in the back seat of the car before fizz gets ripped away from both of you! You and blitzo turn to see striker.

- fizz is freed the fire breaks out. Blitzo was close enough to save him and then you start making you way home. You’d frowned on the way there and apologized for all that had happened.

- fizz shakes his head and says he’s just glad that you’re both ok. And once Ozzie sees the both of you he squeals and pulls both of you into his arms and smoothers you both with hugs and kisses.

• You helped him focus on his breathing and made him sit on the couch that was in his dressing room. You put your arm around him and pulled him closer, his head resting on your shoulder.

• "Why are you doing this?" He whined.

"Because I care about you."

"You don't have to."

"But I want to. You always helped me out in the past, just let me do this one thing, okay?"

• He didn't say anything, just continued to lay his head on your shoulder.

• You knew that he was still nervous about the whole thing, and you definitely know that his love language is physical touch. So, you offered to big spoon. Sure it was awkward for the two of you, but Fizz decided that would be the best thing.

• You two laid on the couch, your arm around his waist breathing in his scent. “Does this make you feel better?” You mumbled into his neck.“Yeah, actually.”

• This sweet moment got interrupted by Blitz’s loud mouth. “Hey Fizz your fans are practically cumming in their pants just wanting to see- Oh look what we have here! You finally got a girlfriend.” Blitz teased.

• “Shut the fuck up Blitz, I swear to Satan I will punch you.” You glared at him.

• “Relax!” He put his hands out in defense, “Christ on a stick, woman.” He mumbled.

•Blitz ended up leaving you two alone and left the dressing you. You turned your attention back to Fizz, “You feeling any better?”

• “I am.” Fizz smiled, “Thank you, Y/n.”

• You wanted to kiss him, but you were saving that until after the tryouts.

From Truth Seekers to Mastermind: How we've reached the halfway point of Stoliz

While there are many things I would love to bring up about Helluva Boss S2 Ep11 Mastermind and the pay offs it gave throughout the season, I want to focus specifically on Stolas and Bltiz's relationship as that is the heart of the story.

As we know Stolas and Blitz had an arrangement which allows Blitz to journey to Earth provided every full moon him and Stolas got freaky in the sheets.

at first this was treated as nothing more than a condition that enabled Helluva Boss' story to be set in motion as Blitz and I.M.P's job requires them to go to earth to assassinate people for clients in hell.

and for the most part, Blitz treated it as just a condition of their agreement, nothing more, thinking Stolas was simply just a royal who liked getting freaky with the lower class and as he put it "loved getting raw dogged"

However come S1 Ep6 Truth Seekers we got a glimpse that there might be more to this as during BLitz's hallucination where his inner truth was being shown.

it was during this that we see Blitz's view of Stolas or rather his desire to want to love him as he sees Stolas in an almost "angelic" view point

but as we see, he is unsure

of himself? of their relationship? of Stolas?

we don't know, but this is a turning point where BLitz wants to believe "maybe we could be more?"

the episode climaxes (ha) with Stolas saving I.M.P, as prior to that Blitz and Moxxie were captured by humans and with Millie and Loona were trying to escape but were cornered.

After Stolas saved them, for a brief moment Blitz believed that Stolas might have actually cared about him because why else save him?

and for a moment we assume the same as Stolas asks Blitz if he is alright

...until Stolas makes it clear, possibly unintentional as unfortunately our Bird Prince still has his aristocratic upbringing still part of his personality, "if YOU get in trouble, "I" get in trouble, WE don't want that" which made Blitz feel that all Stolas cared about was covering his ass which then has him retreat back into his shell, believing what he thought about Stolas was wrong, that there is nothing going on...

Nothing except their agreement, and despite him giving Stolas a kiss and being playful, it's Blitz giving Stolas a "Reward" for aiding them but with no real meaning, just Blitz living up to their end of the deal and in this case, trying to placate Stolas to calm him down.

What could have been a breakthrough instead was just a brief glimpse that neither side would notice.

and then came S1 Ep7 Ozzie's

We were clearly meant to see Blitz and Stolas as the focus this ep and it would be one that further showed how their relationship was not as ideal as either of them might have thought, in fact it is the total opposite of M&M's

Where Mox and Mill were affectionate, loving, and stood up for and with each other

When Stolas and Blitz were confronted and ridiculed by Ozzie and Fizz; Stolas was mocked for how even though he had a family, he was messing around with an imp for pleasure

and it was here that Stolas coward down and hid behind a menu out of shame

Blitz taking notice and thinking this as, once again, Stolas not being concerned for him or seeing him as someone he genuinely wanted to be with leading to Blitz feeling that once again that golden angelic view ha had of Stolas crumbles and it further pushed Blitz back to thinking there is nothing more to them, there can NEVER be anything more to them, and Stolas just cares about getting his fix from Blitz.

which is why at the end, even when Stolas was genuinely trying to salvage the night and wanted to reassure Blitz he did care; Blitz DID NOT want to hear it, Stolas had his chance, and he blew it.

and the sad thing is, Stolas knows this and both of them are left heart broken because Stolas genuinely wanted to have something with Blitz, but his cowardice hurt the person he cared about.

Meanwhile, Blitz was left alone that night to cry, feeling more unloved than ever before and after seeing pictures of his past relations, remembering the close ones he lost, he sees the one of his mom.

the last person up to this point Blitz knew truly loved him.

and in Blitz's mind, there is no one who would, could or should ever love him.

From there we have many more events that involved Blitz and Stolas's relationship growing, from Western Energy, to Oops, and eventually leading to Full Moon

these episodes have a storyline that show Stolas is coming to realize he can't keep things as they are between him and Blitz.

Seeing Stars was a brief moment where they worked together but with trying to find Via, they couldn't really handle the events at Ozzie's and the aftermath as they had to prioritize finding Via.

But it's during Western Energy where it left Stolas thinking Blitz no longer cared for him or was possibly, and likely, still upset over what happened at Ozzie's, which we see supported by the LONG PARAGRAPH of text Stolas sent to Blitz in an attempt to try and salvage that situation and make amends.

this all comes to a head when Stolas enacts a plan to free Blitz from their arrangement so they could truly try to see if they do love each other or if not, Blitz can have a means to keep his business going and not be tied to him.

To do this he went to Asmodeus to make a case to get Blitz an Asmodian Crystal which would legally allow Blitz to go to Earth as Imps are not allowed to have access to that kind of magic.

Sadly things wouldn't go good for either of them, again, as during the Full Moon, Stolas presented his gift to Blitz and after a series of unfortunate misunderstandings and flops from both sides, Stolas and Blitz would break up, and following the events of Apology Tour, Blitz would come to realize that Stolas truly was in love with him and what he felt back in Truth Seekers WAS true, but because of his pride, anger, and self-loathing, he pushed Stolas away and now he lost the chance to be with someone who truly loved him and it tore him up inside that he may never be able to get that back or even say he was sorry for hurting Stolas...and that he might have to let him go.

on the other side of this episode, Stolas now had his own "Truth Seeker" moment as his song All 2 U has him now looking at his time with Blitz and much like how Blitz had his inner truth and view of Stolas while also seeing it be shattered after his rescue.

Stolas's view of Blitz, or more likely his view of how they might have had something, also shattered, that maybe it was all a lie Stolas told himself, much like how Blitz tried lying to himself.

But then S2 Ep11 Mastermind happens

and we get the make-or-break moment between Stolas and Blitz

As I.M.P is being accused of stealing Stolas' grimoire to get to earth, Stolas steps in and saves Blitz from execution, not only that he takes ALL the blame for everything, as Satan, who is the judge of Blitz's trial, will not kill imps who follow the purpose he made them for which is "being obedient" and since Stolas is claiming Blitz did everything because Stolas ordered him to, all blame goes to Stolas and Blitz is let off the hook for following orders.

In a single moment Stolas proved to Blitz he still cares about him, it's left up in the air for now if he still has feelings for him after everything that's happened, but make no mistake, Stolas DOES CARE about Blitz and seeing this himself, Blitz's doubts are dispelled, more so now he feels maybe him and Stolas can try again or that there is hope for them, because now Stolas is left powerless.

Without a home, title, or anything, save for his daughter who is now in her mother's clutches, Blitz is all Stolas has.

and Mastermind ends with Blitz thanking Stolas for saving his life and Stolas weakly replying "always"

a very stark contrast to what happened back in Truth Seekers where it seemed Stolas only saved Blitz to save himself.

and where Truth seekers ended with Stolas and Blitz making out, we get a softer, more affectionate, more sincere gesture between them as Stolas, weary from having his powers taken and having had to process everything that has happened and what will happen, rests while Blitz gives him a gentle kiss on the cheek.

Season 2 really did a great job building up to this moment and it feels earned, Stolas and Blitz's relationship at first was built on an agreement born from the two wanting something from the other, but as they both questioned how things were and had a series of events that further showed how wrong their situation was and that for them to genuinely have something meaningful, they needed to change

now here comes mastermind paying off the long wait for what is essentially the halfway point of Blitz and Stolas's romance, they ended the arrangement, they broke up, and now are on the path of rediscovering who THEY are as people while along the way will discover how THEY can be as a couple, because Stolas is now living with Blitz and the two will soon see how the other acts, how the others personal life is when they aren't around each other, it will be challenging and we may see more bickering like an old married couple moments they will have.

But this is why I love the writing for Helluva Boss, because it does understand and know how to set things up and give those things a pay off as I hope I have shown in this long, VERY LONG, thread about the evolution of Stolas and Blitz's romance.

So like I know anon been doing a lil Chauffeur x Blitz but could you imagine how jelly the Vees would be at seeing Chauffeur with someone? Especially an IMP like Blitz?

Blitz is a triple whammy here, 1) He's an Imp, literally the lowest class in Hell next to Hellhounds while the Vees are overlords. 2) Blitz isn't exactly shy with the PDA, he's down for everything from just handholding while waiting in line for coffee to dragging you/getting dragged by you into a nearby alley to get frisky while the Vees haven't even been able to establish friendly contact let alone romantic or intimate contact. 3) They can't even get rid of him because he's a highly skilled assassin who is the leader of a bunch of other highly skilled assassins, it wouldn't end well for them.

Val probably both loves and hates the view, loves because damn can Chauffeur kiss but hates because he can't join. Vox hates it but secretly gets off on it, he's save the vid and is trying to make a VR dating/kissing Chauffeur experience. Vel is interrogating Chauffeur and stalking Blitz online to find out what Blitz has that they don't.

Oh definitely, they are so upset and jealous.

Vox would definitely try to make some kinda VR deal or some kinda dating sim thing with you. Don't let him fool you, he will play that VR/dating sim for hours.

Valentino is definitely using Vox to spy on you and he definitely sees some scenes he shouldn't be able to see. Like your make out sesh in your home that would make the most evil sinner blush. He definitely uses the same techniques/positions in his next porno and you have a weird feeling about it cause it seems familiar in some way.

Velvette is most definitely stalking Blitz's vox-stagram and asks you blunt questions:

"How long have you both been together?" "Why am Imp? Why not an Overlord?"

Shit like that. You answer honestly and just keep doing your job like normal. You definitely think something weird is going on but you can't really..put your finger on it.

Blitz? Is like being careful cause while he is an skilled assassin, you do work for three of the most dangerous Overlords. But he's smug especially when he has the pleasure of walking/driving you home after work. He's got your favorite take out and everything just to rub it in the Vee's face.

Blitzo is just bending over backwards for Stolas this whole time in Sinsmas. Not only does he have total Stockholm syndrome but he’s also acting lobotomized. The fact that he not once got mad at the owl after he said to Via “You have always been the ONLY good thing in my life” shows this. Blitzo pre-Ghostfuckers wouldn’t be ass kissing him.

Yep, Blitz was in his best behavior EVER (even if it's OOC) and despite that, that wasn't enough for Stolas, because nothing is enough for Stolas, the coddled rich rapist.

Also, a reminder that this whole ship could just happen thanks to the fact that Viv forced Blitz to stay OOC through the plot and all this shit is just some artificially produced ship slop, because canonically speaking, Blitz wouldn't have hesitated stabbing Stolas' head with a blessed knife, or at the very least apply a restraining order against Stolas so he gets as far away as possible from Stolas.

And no, Blitz saving Stolas doesn't matter in this situation because Stolas hasn't apologized or has shown the bare minimum amount of regret over abusing Blitz, if anything, this is just a blatant attempt that the show is doing to force the ship forward.

I'm not the only one who thought Blitzo was ooc in regard with making the whole Stoltiz ship work. right? And I don't mean this exclusively with just the ship but for his character in gerneal.

Blitzo isn't really the 'romantic' type. No, not in the 'I don't like romance' way, but more in style of love language. Putting aside vulnerability and self loathing, he's not a hopeless romantic like Stolas is nor should he be just to meet owlboys expertations. I'm not saying he wouldn't do romantic gestures once in a while like gift giving but being like "you have my heart" or that kiss after Stolas falls asleep?

I'm sorry but Blitzo would never act this way even with his past partners like Vero because again, that's just not his character. Maybe I can see him taking care of Stolas when at his lowest considering I see him being more 'actions speak louder than words' person. Maybe. But everything else? Nah.

Also: I have a hard time believing him falling head over heels with Stolas just for saving his life considering the last two episodes before that but maybe slowly warming up to him after feeling like he has to take care of Stolas after all of that due to guilt bitt even then idk

Honestly, putting Murder Family and Stolas never owning up to the Full Moon deal with Blitz to begin with (and overall just being horrible and fetishizing in general and making everything about himself) aside, the two have barely any chemistry if any. At all. There's nothing there that screams 'they should be together' or 'i can see them working.' The show is TELLING me they should be but it isn't SHOWING me why they should. If anything it's showing me then exact opposite.

I'm really tired of this show making established characters ooc or dumbing them down to fit the narrative Viv wants to tell when she should have planned the whole story out to begin in and put more effort to make it all work. Stolitz could have been interesting as a toxic pairing that explored abuse and horror of your 'romantic' partner molding you into the 'prefect' version they want in their head supposed to loving you for who you are only to eventually break away and recovering from the abuse you were put though realizing that yes, you do deserve better despite your past mistakes and people you hurt. Supposed to beating yourself up and harping on the past, let yourself heal and move towards the future to do better. That would have been powerful.

Or you know, not have the Full Moon deal to begin with and show them slowly gaining feelings for each other as they get to know and learn about each other better. Ya know, like how real healthy relationships work?

But sadly that isn't what we're getting. We're getting an abusive relationship that's supposed to be viewed as wholesome with no chemistry whatsoever relying on outdated yaoi fanfiction tropes.

1. Stolas mopes and whines and tries to call Via, but Stella won't let Via pick up. All the while, Blitzo is the most loving, supportive boyfriend known to man, giving Stolas a job and cheerleading even as Stolas imposes on him and cries about how he isn't rich anymore. Eventually, Blitz gives his freeloading ass a job manning the phones.

2. Strawman homophobic bitch wife hires I.M.P. to kill her husband who left her for another guy but when they get there they don't go through with it because the gay guys are sweet and warmly lit and happy with their kids, and Blitz pictures himself and Stolas and Via and Loona because only women deserve to die for cheating.

3. Via sings a song about how Stolas abandoned her even though he's been trying to call all month I guess.

4. Stolas has a meltdown and trashes I.M.P's office, says he was an idiot to trade his life for all this, runs off to see Via.

5. Andre meets him at the palace, taunts him, Stolas beats the shit out of him and Andre retaliates and almost kills him until I.M.P. shows up.

6. "Get your hands off my bottom, bitch!"

7. Big anime fight sequence ensues, Andre makes the hydra from Hercules a dragon out of ice, Loona attacks using her feral wolf form that's never, ever been alluded to and I'm assuming only exists to curry favor with the fortune cookie crowd.

8. "The prince's knight needs his sword!" I'm tired, boss.

9. Millie's irritable and throwing up, gee, I wonder why.

10. Blitz saves Stolas, they kiss, never mind all the sexual coercion and abuse.

11. Via swoops in, shoos Saturday morning cartoon villain Andre away, then goes no contact with Stolas like we saw in the leaks.

12. Scene ends on Stolas crying his eyes out in the snow. Great emotional cliffhanger to end the season on, right?

13. NOPE! Christmas party at Blitz's apartment!

14. Millie's pregnant.

15. Stolas goes out to the balcony to smoke, Blitz creeps after him like the kicked dog he's become and shyly asks to bum a cigarette, Stolas is a bitch some more. "When have you ever asked?"

16. Stolas says that they're even stevens because Blitz saved him from the dragon, acknowledges that all of this was his choice at least, Blitz talks about Barbie Wire the Tool who was edited out from her mother's death scene and how much he misses her.

17. They have a romantic dance on the balcony, stop talking about the book deal or all the times Stolas made Blitz feel like shit, says Viv somewhere in the world as she stamps her foot.

18. Blitz hugs Stolas, Stolas looks apathetic about it. End of season.

You were a contortionist at the circus. It was you only home and with it your only friend. Fizz. You held his hand. You sat at the table with him. You stare at his eyes.

You held his hand as he ran to Blitzo’s side. You sat next to him while he sat next to Blitzo. You stare at his eyes while he stared into Blitzo’s. You hate it.

You clapped and cheered as Fizz went over his juggling routine. “Wooo go Fizz!” You cried from the stands. Blitz went after him and grunted in frustration when the balls went flying. You ran up to fizz and clapped. “That was great, you shou-“ you shut your mouth when fizz walked back you with nothing but a wave and a corner eye glance and helped Blitzo off the floor. You squeezed your fist into a ball and strutted away but not before punching the wall and the a crack slitting through it. You stormed away and crawled your way into your hammock and wrapped your tail around you.

Your tears stained your pillow and your claws stabbed your hammock over and over. “fuck…Fuck. Fuck! FUCK! FUCK HIM! FUCK YOU BLITZO!” You wailed.

A month later you were standing on a pole and balancing on one hand. You saw fizz distracting his dad while blitz stole his booze. You spat and climbed down. You bent backwards and crawled like a spider to for switching to walking on your hands over to them. “Happy birthday Fizz.” You said shyly smiled up at him. “Thank you y/n” you grinned and nodded. “Are you ready for your birthday party?”

“They’re throwing me a party?!” He asked then turned to Blitzo and clapped his hands. Blitzo rolled his eyes than glared and walked away.

Jealousy…? You giggled to yourself. Of course he was jealous, Fizzarolli was the best at everything he tried and Blitzo can’t even juggle.

“Anyway! Fizz your gonna love the the gift I made you.” You quickly said before he walked out of ear shot. You switched off of your hands and went back to walking normally. You hurried to your room and kept working on the jester hat you started a month ago. Your sewing was awful and the fabric you use was full of holes and bland. But it was made for the one you loved.

You were walking carrying the jester hat in with sliver Bella in your arms when you saw the green flames engulfing the tent. You screamed in pure shock and heart break. Fizz. Fizz! Where’s fizz?! You gently slid it over his once long horns and held him on your back as you ran away from the fire.

You stroked his head as he sat up in his hospital bed. “He left me…” he whispered. Blitzo left him you thought to yourself. You gasped when he grabbed your hand and brought it to his lips. “I’m so sorry. I never saw you how you saw me.” He whispered.

You shushed him and leaned down and kiss his cheek. “Rest. We’ll talk later.” You said before crawling into his bed and wrapped your tail around him

General Striker x Reader Headcanons

He hates too much PDA, only likes it when he’s either jealous or showing you off. Otherwise, refrain from kissing and hugging and all that lovey dovey crap, save it for when the both of you are in private. He’s got a bad boy reputation to hold up, and yes he likes to flaunt you but he doesn’t want to be too affectionate and have people realize you’re a weakness of his, especially with he people he works and deals with

He calls you stuff like darlin, pumpkin, sugar, doll face, sweetheart. You call him cowboy, stud, Casanova, babe, and you save daddy for when you want something cause you can NOT tell me Striker doesn’t refer to himself as daddy in the bedroom I’m sorry-

He really likes showing off for you, showcasing his strength, smooth singing voice, rugged good looks, everything. Will do some hard work for you like any repairs around the house, carrying heavy stuff for you, anything like that. Will cook for you as well, he’s really good at barbecue and def makes the best barbecue sauce you’ve ever tasted, and he’ll proudly smile when you dig into his food. Will sing for you if you ask him enough, yes he’s confident but with you he can be a little bashful since he actually wants you to like him. He’s secretly a big sap though and has probably written a song or two about/for you

Whenever you want to go out, he doesn’t have a ton of money to go crazy but he tries his best to find a less sleazy place where it’s less likely for creeps to hit on you and make you uncomfortable. Def the type to fight you on who pays the bill, and it’s often settled with you agreeing to pay for your own stuff, but then Striker will intercept the waiter and give him the cash to cover the both of you. You know he’s not exactly rich himself so you never expected any big fancy thing from him, but when you have date nights in he’ll make you a really nice candlelit dinner and blush a little when you call him a lover boy

But whenever the two of you do go to bars, he gets pretty protective cause he knows the kind of shit that washes up in these places. He knows you can handle yourself and have been for years before you met him, but he’s here now so he can help you out. So if the bartender gets a little too flirty or another customer gets a little too close to you, you hear the rattle and hiss from Striker as he glared at the person as a warning to back off. If the person doesn’t listen or dares to even lay a single finger on you, he WILL start a bar fight and get kicked out for you, he does NOT like anyone touching what’s his or making you feel uncomfortable and unsafe

You do go days, sometimes weeks without seeing him due to his work, but he’ll call you on his burner phone when he’s free to check in with you. You’re not allowed to call him and don’t ever have his numbers to his phone, just in case because he could get caught or something. Which is fine, cause he always calls you in the evening when he’s winding down for the day to say hi and make sure you’re okay. He’ll listen to you ramble about your day, and sometimes he’ll fall asleep on the phone with you, listening to your voice and you smile when you realize he’s asleep before saying goodnight and hanging up

When he comes home all roughed up, you scold him as you grab the first aid kit, which is often kept out now rather than tucked away under the bathroom sink. He rants about how a guy named Blitz and his other imps keeps beating him, but you could honestly care less as you tend to his wounds for him. He’s extra grumpy but you kiss him on the cheek and he softens up a bit, accepting your offer to head to bed early and cuddle a bit. He’s definitely a cuddler once he softens up with you, loves to have you in his arms and sometimes even lets you hold him instead if he’s in the mood for it. And after a beat down, he wants nothing more than to lay on your chest and let you play with his hair or rub his back as he groans from his sore body

CAMPING DATES. He’s already got all the stuff to spend nights out in the desert for his job, so it doesn’t cost him more money and it’s just the two of you. You’ll both ride Bombproof out into the middle of nowhere with nobody around for miles, setting up a fire and lying against his horse to look up at the sky. He’ll give you his jacket when you get cold, claiming he’s just fine but he’s trying not to shiver so you don’t feel bad. Or you can both cuddle up in a blanket, your head on his shoulder as the two of you chat while he roasts some food for the both of you over the fire, giving the leftover scraps to Bombproof

helluva boss mastermind episode vent/review

okay so I've just finished watching the new helluva boss episode on YouTube and holy shit was there a lot to unpack I mean that episode was fire.

First I would like to say that I was amazed to see all of the sins (except for Lucifer) in the episode. I mean the designs for satan, Belphagor and leviathan were amazing (Bel's was favourite).

Secondly, the way blitz was trying to put the blame on himself to protect loona, moxxie and Millie really shows how much he cares about them and the way he said take care of loona for me to M&M when he was about be beheaded almost made me cry.

Thirdly, I found it interesting that satan has a mediator named yogirt who probably helps with his anger issues or something either way it was funny.

And the song in that episode was honestly beautiful I mean swear that every song that is sung by stolas just becomes more beautiful than the last. I mean he was admitting to the court that he was to blame to protect blitz. And I honestly felt bad for him when he was striped of his power and title by satan.

Also I found it sweet that stolas went to save blitz from being executed, literally showing that he cares about blitz and was willing to sacrifice everything for him.

Oh and I loved that vassago was in the episode and I really like that he spoke Spanish as well especially when he cussed out andrealphus. That was pretty funny to me.

I also liked how bee and Ozzie were being supportive of blitz. I mean Bee and Ozzie are honestly besties and I was glad that they kept Kesha for bee's Va. Also I like how they were roasting mammon and that Bee was throwing d*CK shaped popsicles at him. Honestly it's sweet that she has Ozzies back on the beef with mammon.

Finally, the way blitz was getting support from lots of demons was very nice to see not to mention how he was getting messages from people asking to join the business as workers or reaching out to more clients. Though I also felt bad for stolas when everyone else was treating him badly after he lost his royal title by throwing things at him, tho it was sweet that blitz let him stay in his apartment with Loona. And when blitz kissed him on the cheek at the end of the episode was so adorable. I just want them to be together now.

Overall, the episode was amazing and I highly recommend watching it 10/10.
