Hear Me Out: Among Us AU
Tumblr media
Kids in order, top to bottom, left to right: Dick, Jason, Barbara, Cass, Stephanie, Tim, Duke, Damian, Mia Mizoguchi, Terry Mcginnis, Mat Mcginnis, Athanasia Al Ghul, Helena Kyle, Rory Raegan, Colin Wilkes, Harper Row, Cullen Row, Alina Shelley, Jarro, Kiki Wayne
I think it'd be hilarious, if Jarro, who canonically is an alien, is the only human. Bruce just finds this tiny human child after someone Starro? gets tossed out the airlock and just... yoink.
Honestly I think it'd be funny if all the kids have black suits (or mimicry of suits) like their parent but wildly differently colored helmets.
I also think it'd be funny if Bruce is just kind of... vibing. He could kill someone, but he's more interested in the wires here and teaching his kids stuff. Who constantly shortcut through the vents and spook other crewmates.

(T)imposter Syndrome
He didn't need Jason (his hero) beating him to a bloody pulp and calling him "replacement". He was already painfully aware he was a placeholder.
Alfred kept him at arm's length and Bruce could barely speak a sentence to him that wasn't case related. Dick was a light in the darkness, but even he was trying to prove he could be a good brother because he failed with Jason. His parents only tolerated his existence on the best of days, and the Titans were not the family Dick promised they would be. (Maybe Kon would miss him)
He had photographed the costumed Wayne's from afar for years. It was pathetic and sad, but because of it he knew them. He knew he was being looked through. Even if they were looking through him though, they were looking to him. It was beyond pathetic, but he could handle the vacant stares if it meant their eyes were on him.
Laying in a pool of his own blood, Tim stared at the steadily darkening ceiling. He hadn't cried when Jason attacked him, when his hero back-from-the-dead jammed their symbol into his chest. He hadn't cried when Jason walked away, leaving him to die alone. As strange as it was, he decided he wouldn't cry about this. He should've known better, he didn't deserve to cry about his folly. (I'll give you something to cry about.)
His eyes closed of their own accord, and he used whatever strength he had left to yank the bloodied R from his chest. This was what he deserved for trying to be the one in front of the camera.

The batkids superpower is getting away with absolutely anything by calling Bruce 'dad' in the smallest voice imaginable.
He knows it's blatant manipulation. He doesn't care.

Death by comparison
Comparing oneself to others is a given in life.
Comparing oneself to one's heroes is also a given.
People say to never meet your heroes. Most say this because they believe their heroes will never measure up to who they thought they were. Others say this because they believe they will never measure up to the greatness that is their hero.
For Tim, he believed neither. He met his heroes. Met Batman and Robin Nightwing. And they were everything he expected them to be and more. He even became one of them. Became the new Robin after the loss of the last.
He was finally getting everything he'd dreamed of. Even things he never could have imagined. So why did he feel as though he didn't deserve it? As though he was unworthy of the Robin mantle.
Despite Dick's encouraging smiles and Bruce's constant efforts of being a better dad than his actual father, Tim couldn't rid himself of that feeling deep in his gut. A feeling of worthlessness, that he was just pretending to fit in.
His fears were only deepened with Jason's return from the dead. When another of his heroes hunted him down, took down his team, and nearly beat him to death, all while calling him a pretender. A replacement. Because that's what he was. He was a pretender. A replacement. An imposter.
Tim Drake was nothing more than a replacement for a dead son. A pretender in disguise. An imposter with a brilliantly crafted mask.
His life as Robin was nothing more than a facade of gilded lilies. Maybe that's why he walked away under the guise of taking time off to find himself. Maybe he walked away because he didn't want to keep up the charade anymore.
Or maybe he was running away. From the family he didn't feel a part of. From the role he had failed at. From the comparison that was slowly killing him.
Death by comparison, what a way to go.

At this point, I feel like Bruce's version of a mid-life crisis would be him taking a week long vacation.

So sense it’s autism awareness month I decided to talk about why this one single section on this one page is so important to me
The fact that Damian could potentially be autistic makes me so happy one of my favorite characters who I actually relate to a lot being autistic like me would be amazing (if dc did their research and realize that being autistic can be genetic)
Like please dc can i just have this one thing? I’d literally cry in happiness if this happened

take a break
Tim Drake was seconds from spontaneous combustion. He had been awake for going on fifty hours, kicking ass as Red Robin, closing cold cases from the cave, and running Wayne Enterprises/Drake Industries.
It wasn't logically (or scientifically) true, but Tim was starting to believe his blood was turning into coffee. He was tired- he was burning out- and he knew it, but if one more person said, "Take a break."
He couldn't take a break, and it wasn't his fault.
Dick took Robin away from Tim, like hell Tim would ever validate that by being anything less than the best vigilante. Bruce and Jack both willed their respective business empires to him, and even though Bruce was back, Tim still had an obligation to uphold the legacies granted to him. Various Bat-themed heroes had passed off cold cases to him, and he couldn't let them down.
He had work to do, everything else could wait.
It wasn't his fault that he couldn't stop, he just couldn't.
So Dick telling him to take a nap, Stephanie scolding him to rest, Damian tsk-ing at his bedraggled appearance, Alfred switching his coffee for decaf, Bruce warning him he was taking on too much-
wasn't fucking helpful.

We should totally have more jl fics where someone is acting ooc and immediately everyone is trying to determine whether they're an imposter or brainwashed or possessed without making it obvious.
Like, a running joke on the tower. Batman makes a sarcastic joke and flash immediately asks him to blink twice if he's under mind control.
Someone starting a sentence with 'Not to be possessed but -'
People calling off sick by saying 'if I come in today that's not me and you should arrest them' and then dragging themselves in to pick up something they accidentally left and everyone takes the mick by saying stuff like 'this isn't you! I believe in you, you can fight this!' when they're grabbing a hoodie from a chair like har har.
Superhero community slang just in general slipping into their civilian lives. Clark says 'before I start I assure you I have not had my will superseded by mister mind' as an ice breaker at a presentation and gets weird and worried looks all night.
It actually ends up helping on several occasions because it's so very very hard to infiltrate an extremely high risk team and then respond in kind without missing a beat when people casually accuse you of being an imposter because you didn't hold your pen the way you normally do. It'd wreck any controlling consciousness' self esteem XD. They've made several shapeshifters cry.
Also the exasperated sighs when you make a suggestion you normally wouldn't and everyone starts squinting at you looking for anything out of the ordinary.

Jason never got to be 16. makes me sad.
Not to deny that Jason not being able to make it to 16 in his first life is sad, but I mean he did technically end up making it, and he made it to 17 and 18 and 21 and so on and so forth, it just happened "in round two" so to speak.
What I think is sadder though, is that depending on whether he was 15 or 14 years old when this happened:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are one of two ways he would've spent his sixteenth year.
Option 1 (if he was 15 at the time of his ressurection):
Tumblr media
(This is 1 year post initial hospitalization)
Or Option 2 (if he was 14 at the time of his ressurection):

(And this is 2 years post initial hospitalization, 1 year post escape from that facility)
Happy sweet 16th, Jason John Doe #265 :)

absolutely infuriating that my manager is going On And On about my “time management” when a) I’m doing the workload of two techs; b) as i have said to her ad nauseum, most delays are completely out of my control; c) if i try and go any faster i start making mistakes and compromising image quality and patient care which are, yknow, non-negotiable imo. Not that management cares since they just want As Much Money Many Patients Scanned As Possible and d) I’m literally Just A Grad and starting off in my career and frankly, doing a better job and putting more effort than a lot of the other more experienced techs around me who cbf to maintain even the bare minimum of professional standards a lot of the time
