okay i can't find that post any more
but i worry about the trans girls who have gaping holes where their personalities should be.
it takes a lot of effort for a person to sustain your continued spiritual and psychological existence. i've met these trans girls, and i've tried to help (or I think I've tried to help). but the deadliest part of this is that to build yourself up brick by brick requires you to fight against the currents that want you dead, that want you to be the empty husk of a human being.
that's why the whole please stay alive thing is such a resonating statement; you need to stay alive for your own sake.
in the home city that means trying to find your own shelter when rent can easily cost you a third of your wage and landlords fucking suck. that means looking for a job that won't fucking deadname or misgender you, that you can tolerate. that means surviving. that means leaving clingy and transphobic family behind and uprooting what the home city believes should be your entire support system. that means trying to live, to get to the point where you can get hormone therapy, hair removal, bottom surgery.
i can't promise that things will get better. but if you know someone like that. if you know a trans girl like that. please. keep them alive. and help them fight. help them be themselves, and grow and bloom again.
we don't have much in the home city, but there are resources. places. things that we are doing and building so that we don't lose people. allies that are fighting alongside us.
because we will win. and when we win, i hope we don't have to mourn.

A Toronto church that opened its doors to hundreds of refugees and asylum seekers who were unable to access the city's shelter system is calling for more help from all levels of government with the space that was used for newcomers now needed for other programs with school just around the corner.
At its peak intake levels earlier in the summer, Revivaltime Tabernacle Church in the Downsview neighbourhood provided beds to 230 people who were previously sleeping on downtown city sidewalks outside an intake shelter.
Now, pastor Judith James says the church can no longer offer the space, as it will be used for children with the new school year set to begin next week.

“Protection of life is from conception to natural death,” she told the newspaper. “And I wasn’t seeing that extended to the migrant, and there had to be a pro-life initiative for a migrant cause.”
Stellar Shelter can house up to 60 women and children. According to the Morning News, they hope to expand soon to include a medical clinic, health care classes and other services.
Breceda said she first began noticing the need for pro-life outreach to immigrants about 11 years ago while volunteering in a health clinic near the Texas-Mexico border. Then, about three years ago, she helped a local Catholic church expand its shelter program for immigrants and decided she wanted to do even more to help, the newspaper reports.

Heal, not kill...
“Peace comes from within.  Do not seek it without.”― Gautama Buddha Heal, not kill The world had turn blood red. Where are the voices of calm and peace? Brother killing brother in Iraq. Who do you support? Murder and slaughter doesn’t stop when a new Army appeared. Soldiers and guns don’t bring peace. They add to death and the murder. Internal conflicts must be repaired by the countries in…

CRIMINAL GANGS EXPLOITING U.S. MIGRANT SHELTERS: A GROWING THREAT TO PUBLIC SAFETY
The article brings attention to a serious concern within the United States regarding the infiltration of criminal organizations into government-run migrant facilities. Squatter Invasion
Aloha kākou. Squatters are violating American homeowner property rights. The government is increasingly allowing squatters to take over someone’s private property. Squatting, also known as adverse possession, refers to a legal concept that allows a person (or homeless) occupying someone else’s property without permission to potentially gain legal ownership of that property after a certain period…

🎥 Facing forced starvation and political abuse, I stand firm in my protest for justice and freedom, despite the UN’s neglect. My recent cries for vital aid to the UNHCR’s Inspector General have been ignored. Even direct requests to staff for immediate help are met with dismissal and threats, revealing a ‘city of serpents’ where my desperate hunger goes unaddressed. Watch: 👆

Chicago begins displacing migrants from shelters, amid resource shortages
On Sunday, more than thirty migrants were evicted from shelters in Chicago under a new 60-day limit on shelter stays, which, however, includes a number of exceptions.
A total of 34 migrants, mostly men, were evicted from three shelters. After the eviction, most of them found themselves on the street on a freezing and windy day.
In a press release issued Friday, Mayor Brandon Johnson said Chicago’s “limited resources cannot support the full scope” of the mission to welcome newcomers, adding that the city is “continually evaluating options that will result in better services for all Chicagoans.”
The eviction policy has faced sharp criticism from advocates and aldermen who believe it is unreasonable to expect newcomers to find housing without jobs.
