If you're so against JKR why do you still interact with Harry Potter content?
I don’t know how many times I have to say this. You should not support JK Rowling by buying her books or other media from which she receives any kind of benefit. But if people—especially queer people who are processing their frustration with the canon content/creator—want to engage in transformative works, more power to them. There’s a reason that “fixit” fic is so popular. As Jenkins said, “...Fan fiction is a way of the culture repairing the damage done in a system where contemporary myths are owned by corporations instead of owned by the folk.” Feel free to substitute “corporation” with “transphobic, racist, notable coward.”
It’s funny you say I interact with HP content because I largely don’t anymore. My last HP fic is and will likely remain unfinished. And even years ago when I wrote WDWG (which I’m assuming this ask is about), I was operating within the “author is not only dead but we’ve killed her and we’re rifling through her house to take the bits from cannon worth keeping” side of the fandom. As I explicitly state in the fic’s description.
Now, Rowling has poisoned the previous joy I had in HP fandom spaces. But I sure as hell don’t begrudge other folks who still write and create art and find happiness there.

A Mother Knows
Harry Potter x Wolfstar!Daughter!Reader
Summary: Over the course of the summer before sixth year, Lily notices certain interactions between you and Harry that seem more than friendly. Her suspicions are confirmed when she witnesses a special moment between the two of you.
Warnings: fluff, mentions of kissing, (I'm not sure what else :) )
Authors Note: Wow, it's been a minute! I've entered the most dreaded time... final exams... I have my first (of 6) exam's tomorrow. Which, to be fair, is absolutely terrifying. To be honest, I don't think I could handle any more studying, so, I've decided to try and write more oneshots, to... y'know clear the mind. I hope you do enjoy this oneshot!... even if it's being posted like, almost 2 weeks after the last one. Thank you! Enjoy!!

The platform is bustling with noise and movement – students waving goodbye to friends, trunks being hauled off the train, owls hooting from their cages. Steam rises from the scarlet red engine, swirling in the air like mist, while parents eagerly scan the crowd for their children.
“Are we still going to the Cannons’ match in July?” James asks, a grin spreading across his face. “I got us box seats, you know.”
Sirius snorts. “The Cannons? You’re making us watch them? Merlin, James, I thought we had better taste.”
Remus chuckles, shaking his head. “I think James just wants a front-row seat to the chaos. And maybe to see if they can manage to win one match this season.”
James laughs, nudging Sirius in the ribs. “What’s wrong, Padfoot? Scared they’ll finally surprise us?”
“I’d be more surprised if they made it through the match without knocking themselves out,” Sirius shoots back with a grin. “But sure, I’ll come. Someone’s got to keep you both entertained.”
Remus raises an eyebrow. “I think we’re going to need more than just your snide comments to make that game exciting.”
Lily, half-listening to their banter, scans the platform, her eyes darting through the crowd in search of her son. Finally, she spots him – Harry, stepping off the train with you by his side. There’s something different about them this time, though.
You both are standing impossibly close to one another, not leaving much room between the two of you. She can’t help but notice Harry’s gaze on you as you mouth words towards him. It’s soft, tender in a way she hadn’t seen before.
Remus raised an eyebrow and said, "I think we’re going to need more than just your snide comments to make that game exciting."
Sirius, feigning offense, replied, "Oi, my snide comments are the excitement. Admit it, you’d miss them."
James grinned and added, "Yeah, sure, Padfoot. Though I’m more excited about Harry showing off some new moves this summer. The kid’s going to be unstoppable."
When she turns her gaze back towards you and Harry, she sees him reaching for your luggage, his fingers brushing against yours in the process. You smile at him – that smile, the kind of smile that carries a meaning Lily can’t quite place, but it tugs at her heart, nonetheless.
Lily watches as Harry goes to pick up your shoulder bag, his hand brushing against yours, lingering just a second longer than necessary. You say something to him, and her laughs, the sound warm and genuine.
The way he looks at you – like you’re the only person on the platform – makes Lily’s chest tighten. There’s a gentleness in his movements, a protective instinct as he adjusts the strap on your bag and slings in over his own shoulder.
You don’t protest; instead, you smile at him in that familiar way, as if this has become routine, comfortable. Lily’s heart stirs with a mix of pride and something bittersweet as she realises just how much her son has grown – and how much he seems to care for you.
Sirius proudly declared, "I’m sure my daughter could give him a run for his money."
James chuckled and responded, "She already does, mate. But where are they? It shouldn’t take this long to get off the train."
Remus looked around, scanning the crowd, and said, "They’re probably taking their sweet time saying goodbye to everyone. You know how kids are – social butterflies."
Sirius frowned and asked, "It’s been ages, though. Lily, do you see them?"
Lily, absentmindedly still watching the crowd, replied, "They’re… just over there. By the luggage cart."
James raised an eyebrow and remarked, "Luggage cart? Still? What are they doing, planning an entire heist?"
Remus teased, "Maybe they’ve formed a secret alliance to avoid carrying their own bags."
Sirius then spotted them and grinned widely, exclaiming, "Ah, there they are! Oi, Harry! Kiddo! Get over here!"
James laughed and joined in, saying, "Yeah, before Sirius has a heart attack from waiting!"
Lily notices your startled expression at the sudden yelling, your eyes widening for just a moment before you regain your composure. Harry, on the other hand, takes it in stride, flashing that familiar, sheepish grin.
“Alright, alright! We’re coming!” Harry yells back, a hint of laughter in his voice as he glances at you. You roll your eyes playfully, nudging him with your elbow before both of you make your way over to the group.
Lily watches closely, her eyes catching the small, almost imperceptible details – the way Harry’s gaze lingers on you for just a second too long, the subtle closeness between your shoulders as you walk side by side. It’s as if you’re unconsciously drawn to each other, and though the others remain blissfully unaware, Lily sees it all.
Sirius grinned and exclaimed, "Finally! What took you two so long? Were you writing love letters on the platform?"
Remus chuckled and added, "or planning your escape from carrying all that luggage?"
James, with his arms crossed and a smirk on his face, remarked, "must’ve been deep in conversation about strategy for our Quidditch games."
Harry just laughed, shaking his head, while you offered a nonchalant shrug, trying to play along.
Harry grinned and replied, "yeah, something like that."
Lily teased, "well, next time, try not to keep us waiting too long. I’m sure Sirius was about to launch a full search party."
Sirius feigned indignation as he said, "I was not! I just-" He trailed off, catching himself and then admitted, "Okay, maybe a little."
Lily smiles softly, the warmth of the moment sinking in. The banter continues around her, light and full of laughter, but her thoughts are elsewhere – on her son and the quiet shift in his life.
The smell of roast chicken and fresh bread fills the Potter dining room as the family gathers around the large oak table. James is animated, waving his fork as he talks, recounting a tale of his latest mission at the Auror Office. Sirius is laughing along, his usual mischievous grin plastered on his face, while Remus sips his wine, smiling at his friends' antics.
You sit across from Harry, quietly listening, but your eyes occasionally flick to his. It’s subtle, barely noticeable, but Lily, from her seat at the head of the table, catches every lingering glance.
She watches as Harry, in between biting into his bread, keeps looking at you with a soft, almost tender expression that she hasn't quite seen before. There’s something unspoken between you, something that speaks louder than words.
"-so, we were staking out Knockturn Alley," James says, his fork poised midair, "and you wouldn’t believe it, this bloke just waltzes right past us, like he didn’t even notice we were there!"
"Probably didn’t," Sirius snickers. "You’ve got no subtlety, mate."
James scoffs, his glasses slipping slightly down his nose. "Oi, I’m subtle when I need to be!"
Everyone laughs, but Lily is distracted. She notices the way Harry’s eyes find you again, his gaze soft, lingering just a second longer than it should.
You meet his eyes, and there’s that flash of recognition, a smile tugging at your lips before you quickly look away, focusing on your plate. You seem flustered, like you're trying to keep something hidden.
"Y/N," Sirius calls over the table, oblivious to the exchange, "You’ll back me up here, won’t you? James is always messing up the simple stuff, right? You wouldn’t want him as your Auror partner."
You laugh, but there’s a slight hesitation to it. "I don’t know if I should get involved in this one," you reply, your voice light, though your eyes dart quickly to Harry again. He smiles at your answer, his grin softening just for you.
Lily feels something tighten in her chest, the realization slowly settling in. She glances at Remus and James, who are completely engrossed in their conversation with Sirius about the latest dark wizard they’re tracking, none of them noticing the subtle shifts. It’s as if the rest of the room fades away, and it’s just Harry and you in your own little world.
Harry reaches for the bowl of potatoes, offering them to you before anyone else. "Want some?" he asks, his voice gentle, almost careful.
You nod, your fingers brushing his as you take the bowl from him. There’s a moment – a flicker of something deeper – before you both snap out of it, returning to the larger conversation as if nothing happened. But Lily saw it, the way your cheeks flushed, and the way Harry’s hand lingered just a second too long.
"How’s the investigation going, anyway?" Remus asks, his voice pulling Lily back into the moment.
"Not too bad," James responds eagerly. "We’re closing in, just need to catch the bastard in the act. Shouldn’t be long now."
"And we’d catch him a lot faster if James could keep his head down for five minutes," Sirius teases, grinning. "Always getting caught out by something shiny, aren’t you?"
"That’s rich, coming from you!" James shoots back, laughing.
Everyone joins in, the laughter loud and bright, but Lily’s gaze is still on you and Harry. You steal another quick glance at him, and he, seemingly unaware that his mother is watching, grins back at you in that same gentle, knowing way.
Lily’s heart stirs. The signs are all there, so small that no one else notices, but to her, they are unmistakable. You and Harry – there’s something more, something deeper than friendship, and now that she’s seeing it, she can’t unsee it.
The summer sun shines brightly over the Potters’ backyard, the smell of fresh-cut grass mixing with the inviting scent of grilled food. The pool sparkles under the sunlight, its water cool and inviting as laughter echoes from the edge. Towels are scattered across the lawn, and the atmosphere is relaxed and carefree, the perfect family day.
Lily watches from her lounge chair, a glass of iced tea in hand, as Harry and you sit together at the edge of the pool, your feet dangling in the water. You’re both soaked, dripping from your recent swim, and Harry's hair is messier than usual, plastered to his forehead. You’re laughing at something he just said, your face lit up with amusement. There’s a playfulness between the two of you that seems different today, something more intimate.
Without warning, Harry flicks a handful of water at you, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. You yelp, splashing him right back, and soon both of you are engaged in a playful battle, water flying as you try to outdo each other. Lily can’t help but smile at the scene, but as she watches more closely, she begins to notice things she hadn’t seen before.
You and Harry are sitting closer than usual – almost too close for what would be considered casual. Your hands brush as you move, and while you both quickly pull away, the small, lingering touches are hard to ignore.
Every now and then, Harry’s gaze lingers on you just a second too long, his smile softer, warmer. When he laughs, it's like the sound is meant just for you.
Lily sips her tea, her eyes narrowing slightly as she watches the way you laugh at Harry’s joke, an inside joke, judging by the way your eyes twinkle with shared understanding. The rest of the family, Sirius, James, and Remus are off by the grill, completely oblivious to the shift in dynamic.
But Lily sees it – sees the way Harry gently nudges you with his shoulder, the way your hand instinctively rests on his arm for just a moment before you remember yourself and pull away.
It’s all subtle, so easy to miss if you’re not paying attention. But Lily is paying attention now.
Harry suddenly stands up, offering you his hand to help you up from the pool’s edge. "C’mon, Y/N," he says, that soft smile still playing on his lips. "I won’t splash you again, promise."
You roll your eyes, but you take his hand, and the way your fingers curl into his doesn’t escape Lily’s notice. You stand beside him, your shoulder brushing his as you both make your way to the picnic table where everyone else is seated.
There’s a closeness there, a quiet comfort that has always been present between you and Harry, but today it feels… different. More deliberate. More tender. Lily watches as you both sit down, slightly apart, but still close enough that your arms almost touch.
You catch Harry’s eye again, and though the moment is fleeting, the smile you share speaks volumes.
Lily’s heart tightens. It’s not that she’s surprised – Harry has always been close to you, and you’ve known each other for years – but now, in this quiet, unspoken way, she’s starting to see the truth. The small moments, the hidden touches, the way you both light up around each other… they’re no longer just friends.
And for the first time, Lily wonders if maybe they haven’t been for quite a while.
Lily stands in the quiet kitchen, the hum of the refrigerator the only sound breaking the evening stillness. She fills a glass with cool water, her thoughts drifting as she waits for the glass to fill. The soft glow of the moonlight filters through the window, casting a gentle light on the countertops, and she glances outside, her gaze drawn to the garden.
It’s then she sees them.
Under the expansive blanket of stars, you and Harry sprawled on the grass, their figures outlined against the shimmering night. They lie close together, a warmth radiating between them that Lily can almost feel from where she stands.
Harry has his arm draped over you, fingers idly playing with your hair, while you lean into him, your head nestled against his shoulder. They seem oblivious to the world around them, lost in their own little universe.
Lily’s heart swells as she watches. Their body language speaks volumes – Harry’s hand cradles yours, their fingers intertwined, while the closeness of their faces suggests a bond that goes beyond mere friendship.
They share quiet laughter, the kind that seems to bubble up from a deep-seated happiness, and for a moment, Lily is entranced by the tender scene unfolding before her.
She sips her water, careful to keep quiet, not wanting to interrupt this precious moment. She knows they’ve snuck out – Harry has a tendency to bend the rules when it comes to you – but she doesn’t mind. Not tonight. The joy radiating from them is a welcome sight, a reminder of the innocence of youth and the sweetness of first love.
In the moonlight, Harry glances down at you, his expression softening as he catches your gaze. You smile up at him, a smile that lights up your face, and Lily can’t help but smile herself.
It’s clear they haven’t shared their feelings with anyone yet, keeping their blossoming relationship a secret, but Lily knows. She sees the way they look at each other, the way they are together, and it fills her with a sense of warmth and pride.
You laugh at something Harry says, your laughter ringing like music in the still night, Lily feels a bittersweet pang in her chest. She knows this time is fleeting, these moments of pure bliss will eventually shift into something more complicated as they grow up. But for now, she cherishes the sight of you and her son, wrapped up in their own little world, oblivious to everything else.
After a moment, she quietly retreats into the kitchen, letting them have their space, knowing that this is a memory she’ll carry with her. A moment of magic, hidden under the stars.
The evening has come to a gentle close, the once lively hum of conversation now reduced to soft murmurs as the last few guests filter out of the house. Plates, cups, and party decorations are scattered across the living room, remnants of the night’s gathering. Lily stands in the kitchen doorway, observing the scene with a satisfied sigh, already bracing herself for the inevitable clean-up.
Harry is lingering by the door, chatting with James and Sirius, but something catches his eye. You’re crouching by the coffee table, collecting stray cups and stacking them in a neat pile. A small smile tugs at the corner of his mouth as he watches you for a second, and Lily notices that soft look in his eyes – the same one she’s been catching more and more recently.
Without a word, Harry breaks away from the conversation, crossing the room to where you’re picking up a plate that teeters on the edge of falling.
“Hey,” he says, voice warm and casual. “Let me help with that.”
You look up, startled but smiling, brushing a lock of hair behind your ear. “Oh, thanks, but it’s fine. I’ve got it.”
“I know you do,” Harry replies with a grin, reaching down to pick up a few more plates. “But it’ll go faster if I help. Plus, I don’t mind.”
They exchange a glance, and Lily, leaning against the kitchen counter, can see the way their faces soften when they look at each other. There’s something gentle in the way they smile – like they’re sharing a secret, like the whole room fades away whenever they’re together.
You let out a quiet laugh, shaking her head. “Okay, fine. But don’t blame me if you end up with dish duty.”
Harry chuckles, stacking a few cups in his hand. “I’ve faced worse.” He winks at you, and your laugh echoes softly through the room.
As they work together, their movements fall into an easy rhythm. Harry is close – closer than necessary, really – but Y/N don’t seem to mind. He hands you plates without you asking, their hands brushing lightly with each exchange, and each time it happens, they both glance up at each other, eyes sparkling.
Lily notices how Harry stays by your side, making sure you don’t carry too much, subtly taking the heavier load without making a fuss. When you reach for a large stack of plates, Harry steps in front of you with a playful smile.
“Here, let me get that,” he says, lifting the stack before she can protest.
You cross your arms, giving him a mock stern look. “You’re making me look bad, Potter.”
Harry grins at you, his eyes crinkling in the corners. “Just being chivalrous. You can thank me later.”
Lily suppresses a smile, pretending to be absorbed in cleaning the counter but really watching the two of them from the corner of her eye. There’s something unspoken in their interactions, a bond so clear that it makes the simplest moments – like cleaning up after a party – feel intimate. She can see it in the way Harry’s always drawn to you, how he goes out of his way to be near you, as if it’s second nature now.
They finish clearing the table, but Harry stays close to you, picking up a stray cup even though the bulk of the mess is already gone. You don’t seem to mind his presence, and Lily can tell by the way they keep stealing glances, their eyes meeting and holding for a beat too long.
“Thanks for helping,” you say quietly, your voice sincere. “I didn’t think you’d want to stick around for the boring part.”
Harry shrugs, smiling at you. “Anytime. Besides…” He hesitates for a moment, his gaze lingering on your face. “I don’t mind as long as I’m with you.”
Your cheeks flush slightly, and you duck your head with a small smile, busying yourself with wiping down the table to avoid meeting his gaze.
Lily’s heart swells as she watches them. She’s always been aware of the bond between you and Harry, but moments like this make it undeniable. It’s not just friendship or affection. There’s something deeper, something glowing between them, like they bring out the best in each other just by being close.
The room is quiet now, the clatter of dishes and laughter replaced with a kind of peaceful contentment. You and Harry finish tidying, but they don’t move apart. Even in the simple act of cleaning up, they’re glowing in each other’s presence, the connection between them unspoken yet unmistakable.
Lily watches them from her place in the kitchen, her heart warm with understanding. They don’t have to say anything for her to know what’s growing between them. It’s already there, shining in every glance, every smile, every small gesture. And though they’re not ready to share it with the world, Lily knows. It’s only a matter of time.
Lily tiptoes through the quiet house, the soft creak of the floorboards barely audible in the stillness of the night. The clock on the wall reads just after midnight – closer to 2 a.m., she thinks – as she heads into the kitchen for a glass of water.
As she nears the living room, something catches her eye. At first, she thinks it’s a shadow, but then she hears a soft sniffle – a quiet, muffled sound. Lily freezes, peeking around the corner, her hand halfway raised to turn on the kitchen light.
There, on the couch, is Harry. His arm is wrapped around you, curled into him, your face buried against his chest as if the world might shatter if you let go. His hand moves in slow, soothing strokes up and down your back, his lips close to your ear, whispering sweet words Lily can’t quite make out. You cling to him like he’s your anchor, the only thing keeping you grounded.
Lily’s heart tugs at the sight. She knows exactly why you need comforting tonight – your father, Remus, is out under the full moon, fighting the battle that comes with his condition. And though you have known your whole life what this night means, it doesn’t make it any easier.
Lily doesn’t need to get closer to see the red puffiness around your eyes, the way your shoulders shake slightly, even though you’re quiet now. You’ve been crying. And Harry… her sweet boy… is there, holding you together.
For a moment, Lily can’t move. She watches the way Harry cradles you like you’re something precious, whispering things only meant for your ears. His voice is soft but firm. “I’ve got you,” he murmurs, pressing a gentle kiss to the top of your head. “It’s going to be okay, Starlight. I promise. I’m right here. I won’t let go.”
Lily feels something stir deep within her at the tenderness in Harry’s words, the nickname Starlight. She’s heard him call you that in passing, but here, in the dim glow of the room, it carries a deeper meaning – an intimacy she hadn’t quite registered before.
She watches Harry pull you closer, if that’s even possible. His arms wrap around you tighter, as if trying to shield you from every pain in the world. And you, for all your quiet strength, look so fragile in this moment. The way you curl into him, your breath still a little shaky, makes it clear you only just stopped crying.
Lily’s heart aches, but it also swells with pride. Her son… her sweet, kind Harry… is exactly the person she raised him to be. Gentle. Compassionate. He’s the one you turn to, the one who can make you feel whole when everything else is spinning out of control.
When did this happen? she wonders, her gaze softening as she takes in the scene. She knew you were close, of course. You had always been a part of their lives, but this… this is different. The way you hold each other, how Harry’s entire focus is on you, as if nothing else in the world matters. Lily realizes then that this isn’t just friendship. It’s something much deeper.
They love each other, Lily thinks, her heart both heavy and warm at the same time. She’s seen love before – felt it in her own bones with James – but seeing it blossom between her son and you are something else entirely. She didn’t expect to see it so soon, but it’s undeniable now. The way Harry whispers your name, the way you seem to find comfort in his touch alone.
Harry’s voice breaks through her thoughts again, soft and gentle as he reassures you. “Your dad’s going to be alright. Just breathe with me, okay? We’ll get through this together.”
You nod weakly, sniffling into his chest, your fingers clutching at the fabric of his shirt. “I know… I just hate waiting. I feel so helpless.”
“I know,” Harry soothes, his thumb brushing against your shoulder in slow circles. He wipes away your tears with the pads of his fingers, pressing gentle kisses to your forehead as if he could kiss away all your worries. “But you’re not alone, Y/N. You’ve got me. You’ve got all of us. I’m right here, and I’m not going anywhere.”
Lily can barely breathe. There’s something about Harry’s words that feels almost sacred in this moment. He’s so sure, so steady, offering you the kind of comfort that only comes from someone who truly understands the weight of your worry. It’s more than just words; it’s a promise.
She can feel the depth of your connection now, the unspoken bond between you that has quietly grown over the summer. Maybe longer, she muses, realizing how blind she’s been to this. But now that she sees it, she can’t unsee it.
You’re in love. And it’s the kind of love that warms her heart to witness. Harry isn’t just comforting you tonight because he’s a kind friend – he’s holding you because he needs to, because he can’t stand to see you in pain.
Lily stands there for a few more moments, not wanting to intrude. She feels a swell of pride, mixed with a bittersweet realization that her little boy isn’t so little anymore. He’s growing up, finding his own path, just like she and James once did.
With a soft sigh, Lily turns on her heel, quietly retreating back down the hall. She doesn’t need to say anything. Not tonight. You have your moment, and it’s yours to keep. As she heads back upstairs, she allows herself a small smile, knowing that Harry is exactly where he needs to be, with the person who makes him happy.
The living room buzzes with energy as James shuffles the cards with a dramatic flair, his brow furrowed in mock concentration. “Right, everyone, brace yourselves,” he declares. “Tonight’s the night I finally beat all of you – and you can’t blame your bad luck on the moon, Moony.”
Remus snorts, leaning back in his chair, his arms crossed. “Considering I’ve beaten you the last three game nights, I’d say luck has nothing to do with it.”
“Remus, I’ve been letting you win,” James retorts, grinning as he deals the cards, throwing them to each player with exaggerated force. “It’s all part of my long-term strategy to lull you into a false sense of security.”
“Is that what we’re calling your losing streak now?” Sirius quips from the other side of the table, his feet kicked up on an ottoman, his eyes lazily scanning his cards. “Because, mate, I was starting to think you’d peaked in your Quidditch days, and it’s been downhill ever since.”
“Excuse you,” James shoots back, faking offense. “I’m still in my prime. Potter magic never fades. Right, Lil?” He looks over his shoulder at Lily, who smirks from her spot on the couch.
“I don’t know, love,” she teases, shaking her head with a knowing smile. “You were just complaining about your back this morning.”
Sirius cackles, slapping the arm of his chair. “Potter, the Quidditch legend, brought down by back pain! You really are getting old, mate.”
“Oh, shove off, Pads,” James grumbles, though he’s laughing. “It’s all tactical. I’m pacing myself, saving my energy for the crucial moments.”
“Sure, sure,” Remus mutters, shaking his head as he gathers his cards. “Because complaining about your back is all part of a master plan.”
Lily chuckles quietly, her eyes drifting over the table to where you and Harry sit across from each other. Their banter continues to fill the room, but Lily notices how Harry’s eyes flick to you every time you adjust your cards. His expression softens in those brief moments, like he’s more interested in her than the game.
You, too, sneak glances at Harry, especially when he’s not paying attention. It’s subtle, but Lily catches every lingering look, every quiet smile, like they’re sharing something no one else in the room can see.
“Well, if we’re done with the lovebirds' reunion,” Sirius drawls, pulling Lily’s attention back to the game. “Shall we get this over with? Remus, I fully expect you to lose miserably this time. No excuses.”
Remus raises an eyebrow. “We’ll see, Pads. Though if I were you, I’d focus more on keeping up with the game and less on running your mouth.”
James laughs, flipping his first card onto the table. “Oh, you know he can’t help himself, Moony. It’s all part of his charm.”
Sirius opens his mouth to respond, but Lily notices that Harry has just made a clever move, earning a cheer from James. “Well played, Harry!” James calls out, though his grin is full of fatherly pride.
While the others are still reacting to Harry’s success, Lily notices how your face lights up. You shoot a proud, affectionate smile toward Harry, your eyes sparkling, though you quickly glance down at your cards again before anyone else can catch you.
Harry, seemingly aware of your admiration, glances your way and meets your eyes. His lips curl into a soft, almost secretive smile, one that’s just for you.
Sirius interrupts the moment, pointing at the cards on the table. “All right, no more distractions! Let’s see if Harry can keep this streak going, or if James’s legendary losing streak is contagious.”
“Oi!” James retorts, but it’s clear everyone’s having fun. Remus, always the voice of calm, rolls his eyes.
Lily, watching from the sidelines, can’t help but smile to herself. Even amid the playful banter and noise, Harry and yours quiet, unspoken connection stands out. They’re on the verge of something, even if no one else sees it just yet.
Sirius throws another playful insult across the table, and everyone laughs, but Lily’s focus remains on the two of them. No one else seems to notice the way Harry and you keep sneaking those glances at each other – except her. They’re playing their own game tonight, one that has nothing to do with cards.
The afternoon sun filters softly through the large windows of the Potter house, casting golden light across the garden. The last few minutes of lunch are winding down, the conversation at the table growing quieter as everyone settles into a relaxed, post-meal calm. Plates are scattered with crumbs, and empty glasses glisten in the sunlight. James and Sirius are still chatting, their voices loud and animated, while Remus listens quietly with a soft smile, nodding occasionally at their banter.
Lily sits back in her chair, her gaze drifting across the table to where Harry and you sit side by side. They’re not speaking much, but there’s a comfortable ease between them, a kind of unspoken understanding that Lily has become used to noticing.
Harry’s hand moves subtly under the table. It’s a small, almost imperceptible gesture, but Lily catches it. He slips something into your hand – something small, delicate. His expression remains neutral, but there’s a flicker of something playful in his eyes, something secretive.
Your fingers close around whatever it is, and your cheeks flush a soft pink. You glance quickly at Harry, a shy smile playing at the corners of your lips, and then down at your lap where your hand still holds the small gift.
Lily doesn’t need to see what Harry has given her to know it’s something meaningful. It’s the way they’re both trying to be discreet, as if they’re sharing a secret, just the two of them. Your blush deepens, and you bite your lip, trying to stifle your grin. You peek at the tiny object in your hand before tucking it away in your pocket.
Harry leans back casually, pretending to listen to James and Sirius’s conversation, but there’s a quiet satisfaction in his expression. His foot nudges yours under the table, a soft, playful touch that goes unnoticed by everyone except you – and Lily.
Your eyes flicker toward Harry, your smile growing. You lift your hand slightly under the table, as if to squeeze his fingers in thanks, but the moment is so brief, so subtle, it’s almost invisible. Almost.
But not to Lily.
She watches, her heart swelling with warmth. It’s such a small, tender thing – this exchange between them. A tiny note or perhaps a flower from the garden, passed between them like a secret promise. Whatever it is, it makes you glow, your usual calm demeanour softening into something more vulnerable and open. Harry, too, seems lighter, more at ease, like being close to her is enough.
Lily keeps her gaze on them for another beat, a knowing smile tugging at her lips. It’s clear they’re doing their best to keep this little gesture between themselves, but she can’t help but feel a sense of pride watching them. They’re careful, quiet about whatever is growing between them, but it’s undeniable.
James laughs loudly at something Sirius says, the sound breaking through the soft quiet of the moment. You shift in your seat, pulling your hand out of your pocket, your expression carefully neutral again, though your blush still lingers. Harry, ever so casual, stretches his arms over his head, flashing you another quick smile.
Lily turns back to the conversation around her, but the image of Harry and you, their subtle exchange, stays with her. It’s moments like this that make it all so clear – the way they move around each other, how even the smallest touches and quiet gestures hold so much meaning. They’re trying to keep their feelings hidden, but for Lily, it’s as obvious as the sunshine pouring through the windows.
She says nothing, though. There’s no need to rush them. Let them have their secrets. Let them enjoy these little moments for themselves, for now. Lily watches them out of the corner of her eye, and her smile lingers, knowing that, whatever it is they’re sharing, it’s something special.
Lily moves quietly through the hallway, a folded pile of laundry in her arms, when the soft murmur of voices catches her attention. It’s coming from the sitting room, and she recognises them instantly – Harry’s low, familiar tone and the softer voice of you.
She slows her pace, curious but careful, not wanting to interrupt. Their voices are hushed, intimate, and though she doesn’t mean to eavesdrop, something about the tension in the air makes her stop just outside the doorway.
“I just… I don’t know how much longer we can keep this secret,” Harry says, his voice carrying an undercurrent of vulnerability. "I mean, I hate that we have to hide it – us. You mean everything to me, Y/N."
There’s a pause, and Lily can practically hear the nervous energy between them. Your voice, softer now, almost hesitant, responds, “I know, Harry. I feel the same. But what if things change once everyone knows? What if-”
“They won’t,” he cuts her off gently but firmly. “Not for me. Not ever.”
Lily’s breath catches in her throat. She leans subtly against the wall, not daring to move, not wanting to miss a word. Harry sounds so sure, so ready to take that next step, and it’s clear to Lily what’s coming next. A confession. A leap.
There’s a moment of silence, and then Harry’s voice comes again, quieter now, almost as if he’s gathering his courage. “Y/N, I – there’s something I’ve been wanting to say. For a while now.” His words are filled with emotion, raw and unguarded. “I think I’m ready to-”
A sudden noise from the kitchen shatters the moment – Sirius, unmistakably, laughing loudly as he fumbles with something. The clattering of dishes follows, and you and Harry both fall silent, the intimate atmosphere broken in an instant.
Lily hears you let out a soft laugh, the tension between them easing, though she can tell they’re still lingering on the edge of something unspoken. “Of course,” you mutter, clearly trying to mask her disappointment with humour. "Always at the best part."
Harry chuckles too, but it’s strained, like he’s lost the momentum he had been building. "Yeah, typical timing."
Lily feels the weight of the moment slip away, but there’s no denying what she’s just witnessed. They’re both holding back, hovering on the brink of admitting how deep their feelings run, but something keeps stopping them. Maybe it’s the fear of what comes next – of sharing their love with the world – or maybe it’s simply the enormity of the words themselves.
As she listens to them exchange a few more quiet words, something stirs within Lily. She knows that this moment isn’t the last. Whatever Harry was about to say, whatever you were feeling, it’s only a matter of time before they find the courage to cross that line. It’s inevitable.
Smiling softly to herself, Lily moves away from the doorway, careful not to draw attention. She leaves them to their half-finished conversation, knowing that they’ll find their way back to it soon enough. And when they do, she’ll be ready for the day they finally share their secret with the world.
Lily stands at the dresser, brushing her hair, her eyes distant as she watches James change into his pyjamas. The room is warm, softly lit by the bedside lamp, casting a cozy glow over the space. James flops down onto the bed, stretching with a contented sigh, but he notices that Lily seems unusually quiet tonight.
He glances at her, a playful smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. “Alright, what is it? I can practically see the wheels turning in your head.”
Lily bites her lip, unsure of where to begin. She puts down her brush and turns to face him. “It’s about Harry,” she says softly, moving to sit on the edge of the bed.
James props himself up on his elbows, intrigued. “Harry? What’s he done now? He’s not sneaking out to play Quidditch at midnight again, is he?”
Lily chuckles, shaking her head. “No, no… it’s not that.” She takes a deep breath, searching for the right words. “It’s about him and her.”
James raises an eyebrow, clearly not following. “Her?”
Lily gives him a look, as if it should be obvious. “Y/N.”
James sits up a little straighter, his curiosity piqued. “Ohhh, I see. What about them?”
Lily hesitates, her voice dropping to a whisper. “I think… I think they’re more than just friends, James.”
James’ eyebrows shoot up in surprise. “Really? Harry? And Y/N?” He leans back, processing this information. “What makes you think that?”
Lily smiles softly, her thoughts drifting back to the moments she’s seen. “I’ve noticed little things, over the summer. They’re always together, which isn’t unusual, but… they’ve been holding hands when they think no one’s looking. And the way they glance at each other… it’s not just friendly. There’s something deeper there.”
James stares at her, a bit stunned. “Holding hands? Are you sure?”
Lily nods. “I’ve seen it more than once. And tonight, during dinner… I saw them giggling, soft little laughs that only they seemed to share. Harry even gave her something – a small gift, I think, but I couldn’t see what it was. She looked so happy, James. I’ve never seen him look at anyone like that before.”
James runs a hand through his hair, letting out a low whistle. “Blimey. I mean, I knew they were close, but… this is different. Our boy’s in deep, isn’t he?”
Lily lets out a small, wistful sigh, folding her hands in her lap. “I’ve been watching them, and it’s not just puppy love. I think they really care about each other.”
James watches her carefully, sensing there’s more to this. “You’re holding something back,” he says, his voice gentler now. “What else have you noticed?”
Lily hesitates, her cheeks warming slightly. “I… I saw them kiss,” she admits quietly, her eyes flickering up to meet his. “In the garden a few days ago. It wasn’t anything dramatic, just… sweet. Soft. But it felt like I was seeing something private, so I didn’t say anything.”
James blinks, clearly surprised but also slightly impressed. “Kissed? Harry?” He chuckles, shaking his head in disbelief. “Our little Harry, snogging my best friend’s daughter. Merlin, I never thought I’d see the day.”
Lily lets out a soft laugh, though there’s a touch of emotion in it. “He’s growing up, James. Faster than I expected. And I know he’ll come to us when he’s ready to tell us, but… it’s strange, seeing it happen before our eyes.”
James moves closer, taking her hand in his. “It’s bound to be strange, love. We’ve had him to ourselves all this time, and now… well, he’s finding his own way. But if he’s found someone who makes him happy, then that’s all we can ask for, isn’t it?”
Lily nods, her voice soft. “I just wasn’t ready to see it. I’ve watched him grow from that little boy who’d follow me around everywhere, to this young man who’s falling in love.” She smiles, though her eyes are misty. “It makes me proud… and a little sad, all at once.”
James wraps an arm around her, pulling her close. “I get it. It’s hard watching them grow up. But you know what? He’s a good kid. And if he’s with her, I’m sure he’s doing alright. Besides, she’s practically family. Can’t imagine a better match for him.”
Lily leans into his embrace, finding comfort in his words. “I know,” she whispers. “I just hope they both know what they’re doing.”
James kisses the top of her head, smiling down at her. “They’ll figure it out, just like we did. Let them have their moments, and when Harry’s ready, he’ll come to us.”
Lily nods, feeling the weight lift slightly from her chest. “You’re right. We’ll wait. But it does make me happy, seeing him like this. He’s… different with her. Softer, more open. And she cares for him, I can tell.”
James grins, a teasing glint in his eye. “Just like you and me, then?”
Lily laughs, swatting his arm. “Don’t get too smug.”
“Can’t help it. He’s got my charm, after all,” James quips, waggling his eyebrows at her.
Lily rolls her eyes, but there’s affection in her smile. “You’re impossible.”
“But you love me anyway,” James says, pulling her down beside him with a grin.
Lily rests her head on his chest, the soft sound of his heartbeat calming her. “Yeah,” she whispers. “I do. And I’m sure, one day, Harry will feel the same way about her.”
James presses a kiss to her forehead, holding her close as they settle into bed, knowing that their boy is growing up, and trusting that, just like them, he’ll find his way.

harry potter movies and how accurately they portrayed the character of ginevra molly weasley
philosopher’s stone: 8/10 book accuracy bc my girl is barely in this movie but she nailed that 2 seconds of screen time in her cute little pastel coloured outfit! but lost points bc we didn’t get to see her again at the end nor did we see the twins promising to send her a hogwarts toilet seat (comedy GOLD i tell you)
chamber of secrets: 7/10 because yes we got to see a few cute moments where ginny got to shine (like ‘leave him alone!’ ate that) but would’ve loved to see her trying to tell harry about the diary and the running joke about percy and his new girlfriend, and where was the singing valentine???? c’mon??? everyone sing it with me ‘his eyes are as green-’ ALSO when she’s sobbing at the end about how she’ll having to leave hogwarts and she’s just this tiny scared little girl and i just want to hug her like we deserved those scenes!!:!:! and harry not telling anyone the details of what happened to protect her (bc he worries she’ll be blamed entirely for the incident like he’s too pure i swear????)
prisoner of azkaban: 8/10 as ginny is not really featured much in this book at All but was still bummed we didn’t get that scene on the train when she accidentally sits on harry’s lap and we see that she is the only other person as badly affected by the dementors as harry
goblet of fire: 11/10 book ginny energy is STRONGGG in this film even tho she’s barely present in the book! her snarky comments and attitude was Perfect but still bummed we didn’t see the scene where ron almost gets her to go with harry to the yule ball and she refuses (like the angel she is) and sticks w neville
order of the phoenix: 1.5/10 honestly that might even be too high bc literally WHERE WAS SHE??? she gets a couple points for the reducto curse moment but that’s about it. no hint of personality, still openly crushing on harry (even tho she has a boyfriend and is able to be herself around harry now HELLO this was major character development) no ‘lucky you’ scene, no library scene, no ginny stepping in to play seeker for harry and WINNING, no bickering at the DoM, no impressions of umbridge, no joking around with her brothers and harry, like we were ROBBED
half-blood prince: -100/10 because what the FUCK? shoelaces? hidden random kiss in the RoR? zero interactions and suddenly harry is In Love? ginny saying about 5 words in the entire film? ginny is the LIFE of this book, harry spends page after page obsessing over her, where’s them playing quiddich at the burrow, joking around after practise, ginny crashing into the commentator’s booth, ginny defending harry about the potions book, harry KISSING her in front of the entire common room after SHE won the quidditch cup playing his position because his dumbass got detention like?,!:?! harry wanting to save his liquid luck to have a chance with ginny?? ginny and ron’s big argument? harry and ginny’s break up after dumbledore’s funeral?? instead we got ginny being a mute with zero personality, who feeds harry christmas pies, wouldn’t know a joke if it hit her in the face and initiates everything despite harry being the one making the moves in the book?!??!??! just abhorrent. ginny weasley i am so sorry for what they did for her.
deathly hallows part 1: -45/10 okay ginny was done so dirty, ginny kissing harry as a birthday present, like a GOODBYE kiss??? as a i-don’t-know-if-i’ll-ever-see-you-again-but-please-know-that-i-love-you kiss???? harry calling ginny the most real thing in the world? ron snapping at harry for leading ginny on? harry almost accidentally telling ginny his plans for hunting voldemort bc he always lets his guard down around her? harry getting jealous when krum shows interest in ginny at the wedding? harry staring at her dot on the marauders map and making sure she’s safe????? instead we got.. an awkward kitchen kiss with george present (um?), zero interaction at the wedding, neville standing up to deatheaters on the train but ginny sitting pretty next to him and saying nothing when SHE WAS LEADING THE DAMN RESISTANCE???????:?:?:?: give me a fuckin break
deathly hallows part 2: -75/100 so! much! wrong! with her portrayal in this film. not to mention she’s barely in it, but when harry comes back to hogwarts, they have that one moment where they stare at each other and that’s it???? that’s all we get?? the rushed kiss on the staircase was lowkey cute but without all the build up from previous films it was just like..? ok? in the book we get ginny pushing to stay and fight and no one can convince her to do it, except harry. he’s the only one she listens to. we get harry saying ginny has somehow gotten more beautiful since he’s last seen her? we get jealous ginny when cho offers to show harry the diadem? we get harry walking to his death and seeing ginny crouched over an injured child, trying to calm the girl down despite her own world having fallen apart and one of her brothers already being dead, we get harry nearly changing course and going for bellatrix instead of voldemort when he sees ginny in trouble? also the entire epilogue??? basically cut… like that scene was so wholesome and funny, and getting to see harry and ginny as this family unit was so nice?? a ROBBERY i’m telling you.

Writing Villains (Underrated Tips)
1. Variety
Not all villains have to be the next Darth Vader, Luke Castellan, John Wick, etc. Your villain’s arc doesn’t have to originate from the Big Traumatic Thing that happened when they were X Years Old. Here are some characterization ideas that still keep them interesting (no tragic backstory required):
misguided villain. They don’t think what they do is that evil/they think they are benefiting others (e.g. Thanos from the MCU)
IDGAF villain. They just don’t care about the disaster they leave behind them (e.g. Ozai from ATLA)
past bystander villain. Nothing bad happened to THEM particularly-- they just saw bad things happen to other people, and decided that they need to correct society (e.g. Light Yagami from Death Note)
I was bored villain. They were bored. And millions died for it. They’re probably also an ENTP. Oh, well (e.g. Ryuk from Death Note)
zealous villain. They do it for their cause--god, cult, organization, whatever--there’s a greater power that is their greater purpose (e.g. Cthulu cultists from Call of Cthulu)
staunch traditionalist (often allegorically racist) villain. They want to act according to, and preserve the statusquo (tends to be heritage, race, class, personality, etc.), and believe that any change is bad (e.g. Lucius Malfoy from Harry Potter)
These are just some examples of interesting villain characterizations that absolutely do NOT need a tragic backstory to function.
2. Spill the tea
Show how they treat the people closest to them.
Instead of just focusing on their actions, create moments where readers can see them interacting with their family, friends, etc. This is a powerful tool with the potential to humanize them in a softer way, or make them seem even more scary, merciless, corrupt, secretive, etc.
For example, the audience doesn’t just see Azula from ATLA fight people and conquer cities with a crazy amount of skill and power. The writers show how she interacts with her two best friends; the way she shamelessly belittles them to their faces, manipulates them as pawns, and has no problem putting them in incredible danger reveals a LOT more about her character in a way that only showing her actions cannot.
3. Polarize
Consistency isn’t always key. Sure, the cold and calculating overlord should generally make cold and calculating decisions, but to spice things up, find the thing that will make them snap. Change. Show weakness. Become their opposite, if only for a moment.
(SPOILER WARNING for Arcane)
Silco is a drug kingpin in an underbelly city that is full of gangs, criminals, murderers, thieves, and the sort (you get it).
He not only survives--he THRIVES in that kind of environment as one of the scariest authorial figures. He himself had to experience crazy backstabbing, and grew to be nothing but calculated, manipulative, and ruthless...until he unofficially adopted a daughter! He realized that she had “undone” him to the point where he refused to give her up for a dream he would have been willing to die for.
It DOES sound pretty inconsistent for the ruthless drug kingpin to sacrifice EVERYTHING he’d worked for to clean up after an insane daughter who runs around making murderous messes that attract flocks of authorities. And, it is. Like he says himself, he loses “nothing but problems.”
But, real humans are almost never 100% consistent, and this sort of polarity will humanize your villains without necessarily requiring a tragic backstory or a noble motivation.

Ok but like... Five in Harry Potter PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE i know it's very unlikely but like just imagine him and his siblings in Harry Potter, with reader please 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
You caught my favorite hyperfocuses, I wrote something simple, but I would like to go into more depth in the future.
FIVE HARGREEVES X READER
You were sitting in the shade of a large willow tree, making the most of the small moment of respite with the Hargreeves siblings. You weren’t sure when or how you had gotten pulled into their mess, but you were more than grateful for it. You smiled, watching Klaus and Ben at the edge of the lake playing with a frog, levitating it back and forth.
“This is disgusting, you idiots.” Allison threw the frog away as she pulled Viktor, who was resting his feet in the icy water, away from the mischievous siblings. “Will we have to put up with this until we grow up?”
“Don’t be so optimistic, we’ll have to live with them until the grave,” Viktor said, smiling, as he hugged his sister, who was whimpering in frustration.
Not far away, Diego and Luther were in the act of interacting with what you charitably called Luego’s fan club, a medium-sized group of girls and a few boys, who seemed enchanted by the Gryffindor bigwigs. They posed and flexed their muscles while their fans sighed in amazement "this is all natural babe, you can squeeze it" Luther said showing his biceps.
It was a funny fact, as much as the grumpy old Reginald Hargreeves was a perfect example of a Slytherin, almost all of his children went to different houses. Viktor and Ben went to Hufflepuff, they were kind souls, usually the first to offer help to their brothers and friends. Diego and Luther went to Gryffindor, the hat barely touched their heads, it was quite obvious to you that the two hotheads went to the house of the impulsive and courageous. Klaus was a stranger, after about ten minutes the hat left him in Ravenclaw, along with you to your great pleasure, there was never a dull moment with someone like Klaus around. Allison had gone to Slytherin, always standing out in the class, the girl was a perfect example of talent and discipline mixed with a rebellious and independent spirit. Finally… "There you are, I've been looking for you everywhere" Five says, pulling you out of your contemplative moment, shoving a chocolate cupcake into your hand and plopping down on the grass next to you "What are you doing here alone? Don't tell me you finally realized I'm the best of them and now you just want to hang out with me" he smirks as he looks at you.
You just laugh, shaking your head "If you were any bigger your ego would fill the common room, you know that, right?" Then you stop for a moment and take in the view. Five was still wearing his Quidditch uniform, just like you, his moss green t-shirt was worn and wet from intense training, his hair was a messy wave of strands slightly damp with sweat, giving him a wild look, which perfectly matched the playful and challenging eyes of its owner.
You sighed and shook your head, not wanting to be caught dissecting every part of Five, he already had a lot of self-confidence.
"Just watching?" Five smiles, leaning closer, his breathing still labored from the tiring workout, the light puffs of air hitting your cheeks.
You contemplate for a moment, pouting as you bite into the cupcake, Five's eyes darting between your eyes and lips, he wasn't good at disguising his intentions, maybe he wasn't even trying to "wanna taste?"
Five looks at you hopefully, his mind racing with the question - what were you trying to insinuate? "I will."
You move closer to him, your shoulders touching under the cool grass, the light wind carrying Five's scent from him and intoxicating you with the mix of moss, parchment, sweat and something that was only his. Then you place the cupcake on your parted lips and quickly stand up laughing and heading over to where Klaus and Ben were still playing with floating things "Forget this loser, come here and levitate worms on Allison" Ben waves with a cute smile at you.
"We're not done here yet, sweetie, I'll see you at the Quidditch game this Saturday," you hear Five shout in the distance, and you fight the blush that rises to your cheeks.

https://www.tumblr.com/my-castles-crumbling/745124722698747904/them-oh-you-read-marauders-fanfiction-how-do How can you claim to "screw jk" and still publicly enjoy and make content out of her work? You know that just because you don’t give her money, she’s still benefiting from the attention that the thousands of ao3 fanfics will give her, right? I understand it being hard to let go of a piece of media you held dear to your heart, but if you really care about what jk says, you should understand that still using her work for headcanons and as a base to make fanfics is still spreading the original source material. And she’s gaining influence from it. She’s getting more and more followers on social media, who will hear all the bs she has to say, and more people will stand on her side.
So making ocs unrelated to Harry Potter would probably be better than just ignoring the issue by saying "oh it’s okay, hatsune miku wrote Harry Potter"
*shrugs* I'm just having fun. I'm not gonna let her issues fuck with my good time. Does her voice affect people? Sure. It's horrible. She's a vile excuse for a human being. But my writing really doesn't affect anyone. The source material is out there and it's not going anywhere.
AND Honestly, I can do whatever the fuck I want, especially since it's literally ME and MY COMMUNITY she's targeting. Like I don't have to be a big strong advocate. I'm the goddamn 'victim' in the situation, so I can choose how to act. I'm not gonna feel guilty for enjoying myself. She's literally just a person, and I don't give a fuck what she thinks. I'm just gonna enjoy interacting with my fandom friends, and writing about my dead gay wizards.

It is not even that Mlvns are homophobic. I mean, many of the toxic ones are. We’ve all seen them and interacted with them and received hate anons from them. When Noah’s article officially confirming Will’s sexuality dropped during the summer, people were literally tweeting slurs and fantasizing about him being hate-crimed or dying from AIDS. (It’s probably unfair to group Mlvns in with these people, as lots of them weren’t even Mlvns, just bigoted GA members and trolls). But still. It was bleak. There’s a deep darkness within the ST fandom undeniably.
But I’m sure many Mlvns/Byler-antis are the types of people who genuinely have no problem with queer people in real life. When we call them out on their bigotry and homophobia, they get confused and say, “But I have gay friends! How am I homophobic for not liking Byler?” And they mean it 100%. They really do have gay friends. They probably consider themselves allies and yada yada.
The issue is that A) they are deeply heteronormative without realizing it, and B) they simply aren’t the target audience for the show, and as such, they don’t really understand or connect to the themes of the show. The thing is, lots of people, many Milkvans included, are simply normies. Now I love Steve as a character, so this is literally no hate to Steve, but lots of people are Steves. And people who are like Steve: popular, straight, attractive, used to dating the types of people they want, into ‘normal’ interests like sports (not that Steve is hyper into sports, but you know what I mean), likely to go down ‘normal’ paths and live fairly conventional lives like their parents, etc. are simply not the target audience for the show.
Obviously, the show centers on outcasts, nerds, queer characters, characters with disabilities, black characters, etc. Most people recognize this on some level, but they recognize it in more of a general sense like, “Of course the protagonists are nerds/outcasts, just like all the classic 80s teen protagonists. I just love how nostalgic ST is!” And they leave it at that. Because they are normies, they don’t really connect to the themes of the show other than a surface-level, power of friendship sense. They don’t see how Byler is more aligned with the show’s message than Milkvan at this point. They don’t see that the outcast status of most of the characters is more than just a throwaway personality trait… its deeply integral to the point of the show itself and closely connected to the supernatural storyline.
This is because nerd culture is somewhat mainstream now, and lots of “normies” like it too. Star Wars, Marvel, LOTR, Harry Potter, etc. These are all major parts of society and billion dollar franchises, even more so than they were in the 80s. Because of this, people don’t realize that in the context of the world of the show, they wouldn’t have been friends with the Party most likely. It is far more statistically likely that they would’ve rolled with Angela’s friend group or joined Jason’s human hunting squad. Or even if they weren’t outright bullies, it’s far more likely that they would’ve been one of the nameless background characters in Hawkins High, just kind of floating by in a conventionally comfortable existence, entirely oblivious to government lab conspiracies and alternate dimensions. The characters in ST are outcasts in a deeper, existential sense. Society is against them.
And so many people can’t relate, especially to the queer themes. They can’t even see the queer themes. Because the show is not for them. That’s why you see so many baffling takes on the show:
“Will is so whiny all the time, and I don’t like him!”
“Mike was right in the rain fight! S3 is about growing up, and Will was acting like a baby.”
“Tbh I don’t care that much about the Party dynamics. My favorite part of the show is Steve and Dustin being funny together. And my second favorite part is Hopper being a cool action hero.”
“B*lly is overhated! I mean, he’s so hot and misunderstood! He could’ve redeemed himself.”
“I don’t get Byler. It barely seems like Mike and Will are even friends.”
To be clear, it doesn’t mean they don’t enjoy the genre of the show. Being horror/sci-fi, its core fans are a smaller pool of people than, say, fans of The Office or Friends or other popular sitcoms. So the Mlvns who watched it since the beginning probably do have some avant-garde tastes in terms of genre-preferences, since lots of people wouldn’t touch horror with a ten-foot pole. But it does mean they don’t pick up on the themes of the show and the arc of the characters.
(Of course, many newer fans now are just watching it cause it’s popular, regardless of which genres they typically prefer. This opens the show up to lots of people who don’t connect to anything about the show, not just its themes but also its darker content. A lot of newer fans sound like this: “Like, I just love that Mike was in love with El from the day he found her in the woods, and it’s so cute that El is Mike’s superhero, and Eddie is so cool and badass; I wish he could’ve told Chrissy how he felt, and I’m anxiously awaiting S5 to see who Nancy chooses but I hope she chooses Steve… Stancy 4ever!” This is because Stancy is like every other conventionally attractive couple in media).
I’m rambling, but a lot of people are into Milkvan because of their expectations that “pretty boy and pretty girl go together,” and that’s all there is to it. Finn is attractive and Millie is attractive, and they play the protagonists, so of course Mike and El are endgame. Why wouldn’t they be? This is true for the girls who project themselves onto Millie and see Finn/Mike as a dream boyfriend, and it’s true for the guys who project themselves onto Finn and who would want nothing more than to have a cool, superpowered girlfriend.
This is the way of nature. In a normie worldview, there’s no deviation from this path. A lot of fans basically take The Kissing Booth/To All the Boys I Loved Before and slap a sci-fi/horror filter on it, and they think that’s what Stranger Things is. It’s a cool show where kids fight monsters, and there are normal, heterosexual romances like Mlvn to root for, and there’s a badass superhero main character at the center.
Oh, there’s a gay character too? Well, that’s weird. I mean, y’all already have Robin, but whatever. I’m not homophobic! I’m cool with Will being gay… as long as he stays over there. Oh, he’s in love with Mike? Well, that’s even weirder. Why would the writers do that? I suppose that’s fine, as long as it’s just a little crush, and as long as it doesn’t get in the way of “the main storyline” and my OTP. I’m not homophobic, I swear! I have gay friends!
And they do. And they might not actively be against LGBTQ+ people in real life. They may really be telling the truth. But because they are Steves, this is where heteronormativity comes into play and blinds them. Main couples in shows are always straight, so the cool sci-fi, monster show they love must also be. They’re fine with Kevin Kellers, but queer Mike doesn’t fit the box that they allot to gay characters. So Mike must be the straightest character of all time to fight back against “weird delusional Byler theories” that would “come out of nowhere.” It’s not that they’re actively anti-gay; it’s that they are profoundly closed-minded and have a very myopic view of sexuality/storytelling/their favorite characters/their favorite shows. This is very similar to the XO, Kitty situation and people who were upset that Kitty was ‘suddenly’ bi and had a crush on Yuri.
WHAT?! Where did this come from? I thought I was watching a normal rom-com! I was fine with the gay characters on it who were clearly televised from the beginning! But Kitty? No! Kitty’s my self-insert. How can she like girls too? It must be a phase and be “less real” than her male love interests. This isn’t Heartstopper. The same weird energy is present in the ST fandom.
Byler being semi-canon isn’t seen as confirmation of a love triangle; it’s seen as a disruption to the norm and the foregone conclusion that Mike and El will be together forever and get married and have telekinetic children because the show owes that to them for all they’ve been through. “But why is Will inserted into their scenes?” we ask them, begging them to see reason. “Idk, but he should know his place and stop being a homewrecker and go find a new boy to like. Just leave the soulmates alone. Mike has already made clear he’s straight and that Will is nothing more than a friend. He said it in the roller rink!” This is how heteronormativity works.
That’s why Byler endgame will be so important because it will shatter preconceived notions and open people’s eyes to the beautiful tapestry of humanity. And they will see that this powerful, queer, coming-of-age, love story was right there, under their noses, in their “fun sci-fi monster show” this whole time. *Mind Blown*

The Confession
The Case The Defendant The Witness
The Auror
Summary: When you talk to Draco again, things that were meant to stay hidden come to light as this case wears you thin.
A/n: Well here it is my loves, some more Draco interaction. Curious to know your thoughts about the nuances of if Draco can be condemned for killing Dumbledore because of his plans. And what do you guys think about Harry? Did he kill Voldemort? Even with the rebound spell what about destroying the horcruxes?
“Shit.” I took breath and drew my wand, aperating to the Manor. I flew up the front steps and knocked on the door.
Draco was there waiting for me.
“I’m so sorry I’m late,” I breathed out. “I got caught up in a meeting and—thank you for waiting.” I composed myself throwing on a fake smile.
“Are you… okay?” His grey eyes held concern. There was something so different about his gaze and Harry’s. I wondered if it would be enough to prove innocence.
“I’m fine.” I said, entering the grand house. “Did you get a chance to look over the case again?”
“I did.”
“Good good,” I muttered. “I have some questions for you if that’s alright.”
“Y/n, are you okay?” He asked again as I searched my bag for a spare quill. I left my other at Harry’s office.
“Yeah,” I said simply.
His face pinched in thought like he didn’t believe me. Which was ridiculous. I was fine. Even if I wasn’t it wasn’t for him to worry about. I had a job to do. I had a case to close, and I might just have to fight the infamous Harry Potter to close it. I was fine.
Everything was peachy.
He offered me a seat in a small sitting room the disappeared for a moment. When I had finally found my spare quill and gotten my file out he returned with a tray of tea and biscuits as well as the folder I had left him last week. He set the tray down and opened the folder.
“I have some notes and questions too,” Draco said, taking the other seat. “If that’s okay.”
I nodded and watched the tea magically pour itself.
“Cream and sugar?”
“Two of both,” I said. “Please,”
An amused smile played at his lips as he complied.
Don’t let him fool you. Harry’s words echoed in my mind. My mood soured again.
“What? Did I do it wrong?” Draco asked concerned.
“No, no the tea is fine.” I said, rubbing my face. “Thank you,”
“Y/n—“ he tried again but I wouldn’t let him. I could not. He didn’t need to care.
“So, I have a couple of questions.” I cut him off quickly.
“Of course,” he resigned. I let out a soft sigh.
“Tell me about the day here, at the Manor. When Potter and his friends escaped.”
“What do you want to know?” He asked kindly.
“Um,” I paused. “Harry disarmed you and took your wand then correct?”
“Yes,”
“Okay. And… When they brought Harry in, and asked you to identify him—you didn’t. You denied you knew who it was.”
“I did.”
“Did you know?” I asked out of my own curiosity. “That it was Harry?”
“When you spend six years being loathed by someone, you don’t soon forget the hatred in their eyes,” Draco said quite cryptically. I thought back to my conversation with Harry and those green eyes that still held the same hate. I nodded in agreement.
“So you knew it was him?” I set down my quill and looked at him.
“I did,”
“But you didn’t tell them?” I didn’t know why I was so caught up on this.
“No,”
“Why?”
“Does it matter?” He asked a little skeptical.
“Um… I don’t know,” My eyes met soft grey ones. Then I knew the difference: it might not have mattered to the case, but it mattered to me.
“Well, if it does, let me know,” Draco said as of it were the easiest topic in the world.
“Okay. Um. Can you tell me about that day in the tower. What happened?”
“I killed Dumbledore.”
For some reason his words made me furious.
“No you didn’t.” I shot back without thinking. Draco looked affronted. I composed myself taking a deep breath. “I’m sorry. Please continue,”
He nodded, and I could see his walls go back up. My temper had just ruined everything. Draco talked about our sixth year of Hogwarts and things I vaguely remembered. Katie Bell being cursed, Ron Weasley being poisoned. The raid on the castle.
“I let them in,” He said with his head hung. “I let them into Hogwarts. Into our home. I killed Dumbledore.”
I wanted to comfort him, but I knew that I shouldn’t. And Harry’s stupid words were still at the forefront of my mind. Was Draco really this manipulative? Was he fooling everyone? Was I fooling myself?
“Draco, your wand didn’t cast the killing curse. It never cast any Unforgivable.” I said simply, keeping my temper in check.
“I was tasked by the Dark Lord to kill Dumbledore,” Draco whispered. “I hurt so many people. I was so scared, Y/n.”
“That doesn’t mean that you killed him.”
“Doesn’t it?” He looked at me desperately. “Whether or not my wand cast the spell, I am responsible for his death.”
“That’s not the same thing.” I said weakly. It was all so nuanced I didn’t know how to explain the difference. Maybe there wasn’t one after all.
But, when he met my eyes, his stare held only sorrow and regret. Lofty and flowing in waves.
“I’m sorry—I…” Draco shook his head as if he wanted to rid himself of the words we had spoken.
Silence fell between us.
“You said you had questions for me?” I recalled, changing the subject before it suffocated us both.
“Yes, well, just one,” He said, reserved.
“Go ahead.” I gave him my attention.
“Why is this so important to you?” His eyes put me on trial. My eyes widened in shock.
“Does it matter?” I quickly got defensive. “We’re going to see this through.”
“Why?” He stressed. “The case has been open for years and no one’s batted an eyelash. Why do you care so much?”
“It doesn’t matter.” I bit, standing. He stood too.
“Y/n. Why.” He towered over me. We were two strong holds opposing each other.
“It doesn’t matter to you why.” I stressed each word.
“I’ll decide what matters to me.”
I stepped away from him. Reserved and cold my eyes focused on the files scattered on the mahogany table next to our tea and biscuits.
“If I don’t close this case—“ the words were like stones. “My future is gone.” My gaze met his. “Everything I’ve worked for in the past six years is gone. I fail. My board. My exams. Everything. Gone. I never get to be a pubic defender. I never get to help people.” His defense faltered but mine didn’t. “So tell me. Does that matter to you? Do I matter to you?”
He hung his head and I had my answer.
“We’re done here. I’ll be in contact later this week.” I didn’t even bother to gather the scattered papers.
“Y/n wait,” Draco called. Despite my best efforts, I paused. “Come back on Friday.” He said.
I nodded once then aperated home.

It's really disheartening that Rick Riordan stance on the war I understand that he wants to be neutral on this stance but in my opinion by becoming neutral he only worsening the issue as many Palestines are dying that are mostly children, how the majority of Israeli are supporting the Genocide of Palestine, and how the government is trying so hard (but miserably failing) to justified the genocide. I will hold him accountable for what he said on this issue as during this period the choice is basically "you are with us or against us."
Part of me wishes he will realize what he said was wrong and understand the bigger issue that plays at hand. I will criticism for his actions as how can a man who promotes LGBTQIA and representation of minorities and disabilities in his books turn a blind eyes to Genocide of people. However we can only wait and see on his next move.
One last thing about your previous you said you don't group Riordan with other authors where do you would group him with? Also this is more on an opinion base answer but many people are boycotting companies that support Israel there as been another post on Twitter on boycotting authors. Rick Riordan happens to be one of them. Do you believed that he should be boycotted with other authors or he should be properly educated and apologized for his previous statement? If you believed he should be boycotted what do tou have to say to those who might have the mentality of "separate the art from the artist"
thank you for this ask, and i completely agree with you! it is extremely hypocritical of him considering what he preaches for in his books. i think he’s convinced he has properly addressed the apartheid by using very vague language that can be applied to anything, and in doing so, he’s addressed nothing really.
your first question on who i would group him with— probably other authors who are doing the exact same as him in their virtue signalling. i always like to link my other blogs to each other, so i don’t think it’s a secret that i have a red queen account and i’m pretty passionate about that. unfortunately, victoria aveyard is another fantasy author who has literally wrote a whole four-book series on the uprising against oppression but is now playing neutral in her address of the apartheid. rebecca yarros is in the same boat, although i haven’t read ‘fourth wing,’ fans have said there are large themes of oppression within the book. so if i had to group riordan it would probably be in the ‘i-like-to-write-about-it-for-profit-and-praise-only’ group.
in terms of boycotting, i think that’s a great idea! i would also like to remind everyone that the percy jackson tv show is coming out in a little over a month, but disney is a huge industry financially supporting israel as well ($2 million in funding), which is obviously far more damning than a poorly written address by one person. there is a boycott happening for disney as well— and the pjo show will be released on disney + . i implore everyone to not watch it on that platform!! personally i will be pirating it online (idk if i’ll get into trouble saying that here but lol oh well), because im pretty sure the boycott is only for withdrawing financial support, not simply consuming media.
i feel like separating art from the artist only works if that artist is… like, dead, and you’re using that art and its values as a historical insight to how the world was during its time. you can still like a piece of work that has a problematic artist, you can engage with the work (to an extent). but separating art from the artist barely works because either:
to engage with the art is to support the artist in some way, so that artist is making money based on your interaction with that (particularly in the case for singers and streaming of songs)
that artists’ views and values are so rancid that it’s literally embedded within the text itself. to ignore it is harmful.
harry potter is my all-time favourite example to use, because jkr is the scum of the earth, and her views are entrenched in her work. a lesser known example is sarah j maas and her books (she’s also not as dogshit as jkr, but then again, its not hard to be a better person than her). i’m not going to bag on these people for liking things by problematic people (would be hypocritical of me), i just think it’s cowardly not to address it when you come across it, or at least admit to it. to simply write things off as ‘separate to the artist’ is like purposefully turning off your critical thinking skills.
on whether boycotting or an apology is enough— if riordan did apologise and used specific language and not the nonsense he had in that blog, expressed his remorse for his ignorance and then actually did or said something to support the people of palestine then, yeah. that’s fine and that’s how we learn ig. but he should educate himself, too many activists, people from the arab community and especially palestinians are expected to be all-knowing and to educate everyone else on an already draining and personal tragedy. it’s been exhausting for me, i can’t imagine what they’re going through. if riordan (or anyone) needs to be educated, he should do it himself, and (at least in my opinion) i don’t think the info is very hard to find now. it’s just about weeding out the misinformation.
i think boycotting is a good idea as of now. it can serve to be a catalyst for self reflection for many people. also, as much as i hate most online discourses, talking about it online needs to happen. i don’t want these authors to forget, for a moment, about the ignorance they posted online during a time of international crisis.
#sorry if this is so messy. its 3am where i am rn#i finished two exams today and my brain is deaddd#but ty for this ask!#i have sooo many opinions about the whole ‘separate the art from artist’ and when to boycott something#because usually im actually not a big fan of boycotting. i just dont think it works most of the time (at least recently)#boycotting as a way of ‘canceling’ someone is something i think is a bit silly for instance.#esp when people gonna forget about what that person did in like. two months at most#but i feel like this issue (especially for corporations funding millions of dollars into genocide) is big enough to warrant a call for-#-everyone to abstain financially from things#like it isnt someone saying some dumb shit online. theres a whole country being wiped out.#unfortunately so many corporations fund israel. an insidious amount. so just do ur best to navigate thru it#riordanverse#incorrect riordanverse#rick riordan#hoo#heroes of olympus#percy jackson#pjo#trials of apollo#toa#ask#anon#free palestine#percy jackson disney+#pjo tv show#rewriting

Speak Up
Jealous! Teez {a collab with the pirateeznet crew. See Flurry's @flurrys-creativity here and here. With more to come from @daemour and @mingsolo!}
ღPairing: Jung Wooyoung x Reader (f)
ღAu: idol au
ღTrope: established relationship
ღGenre: fluff
ღRating: PG-16, MDNI (regardless of the genre I do not allow minors to interact with my work)
ღWarnings: just a little jealousy nothing a few apologies can fix
ღWord Count: 929
ღSummary: Wooyoung isn't too keen on you going to a Stray Kids concert, and may or may not have something to do with liking Bang Chan's ass
“Wooyoung,” You deadpanned for the umpteeth time this night, “Why does it matter who I’m going to see?”
“If you had told me that it was Stray Kids, I would have reacted completely different!” Wooyoung insisted for his umpteenth time tonight too.
“It’s your best friends group, shouldn’t that be good?” You insisted from your vanity table.
“It would be if you weren’t so obsessed with Bang Chan’s ass,” Wooyoung muttered under his breath.
You slammed your lip gloss onto the table. “Wow,” stretched out the word, insulted. “You really are a piece of work, Jung Wooyoung.”
Wooyoung whined when you said his full name. “Babe!”
“Nope, don’t even.” You threw your hands up and skirted around his body.
“I shouldn’t have said that,” Wooyoung insisted behind you.
You pulled your leather jacket from your closet by the door. “Finally, something you’re right about tonight.”
Wooyoung looked like you had slapped him in the face. “How’s it going to look when my girlfriend is going to a concert of another boy group? Of the same generation as me? Without me???”
“I told you my friends bought those tickets as a present!” You shouted. Please don’t cry, please don’t cry, please don’t cry you chanted in your head.
Wooyoung side eyed you with a dirty look. “Still.”
“Still nothing,” You spat. You looked at your phone and saw the text message of your friend saying they were here. “I’m gone. I’ll sleep at my friend's house tonight. Bye,” You said flatly.
“Fine,” Wooyoung spat back.
You enjoyed the concert. You didn’t want to bring down the night by telling anyone that you had a fight with Wooyoung just before you left. So you cheered with your friends, sang along with the songs you loved and danced until your booted feet hurt. You loved your fit and you were sad Wooyoung didn’t comment on it. You had been looking forward to his praise.
You sighed heavily as your friend drove your group back to her place after the concert. “Post concert blues already?” she said from the driver’s seat.
“Yeah,” You pasted on a smile, “I miss Bang Chan’s ass.”
Another friend in the passenger’s seat giggled. “Don’t let Wooyoung hear you say that.”
“He can go suck a donkey’s hoof,” You muttered.
The friend beside you in the back nudged you with her elbow. “You know I love your sayings but that doesn’t sound like your normal teasing.”
“Wooyoung was angry I went to this Stray Kids concert,” You blurted out.
“I knew it! Wooyoung did hear you talk about Chan’s ass, didn’t he?”
“Yeah, but I love his ass? I was just fangirling!” You protested.
“When was the last time you said you liked Wooyoung’s ass though?”
Shit, when was the last time you had patted him on the butt and said he had a fine ass? But normally if Wooyoung was feeling like he needed something, he was clingy and borderline asked you to make him feel better. What was different this time?
“Hey… do you guys want to drop me off at home? Please?”
When you got home, the entire place was dark. You felt like you were sneaking through your own home. You found Wooyoung curled up on your bed with one of your sweaters from early today, watching his comfort movie. You could tell he was on one of the later Harry Potter’s by the deepness of Ron’s voice.
“Woo?” You called out softly.
Wooyoung jumped even with the soft call out. He shouted and threw some hands. You wanted to giggle but you were worried that it would hurt his pride more and you didn’t want that. “I came home instead. After the concert…”
Wooyoung pushed his lips to the side of his face, not looking impressed. “‘Kay,” he replied.
You cleared your throat. Whatever the issue, you didn’t want to be mad at Wooyoung and you didn’t want to fight. You’d swallow your pride and apologize, if only to see his smile again. “I’m sorry I said I liked Bang Chan’s ass. I hope you know I like yours better.”
Wooyoung looked taken off guard by the precise apology and then bursted into laughter. He was rolling around on your bed and you started to frown because he really wasn’t stopping.
“Hey! I mean it! Wooyoung!”
Wooyoung managed to get his laughter under control and sported a grin. That was much better. “How much do you like my butt?” He preened a bit.
“Well you don’t have to say it like that,” You can’t help but feel a little embarrassed. “I like it a lot. A lot a lot.”
Wooyoung opened his arms and you rushed to them. You crawled across the bed and threw yourself into his embrace. He hugged you tightly, humming. “I’m sorry too. I should have said something.”
You smacked Wooyoung’s chest. “Nothing usually stops you! What made it different this time?”
“I dunno,” Wooyoung deflected.
“Wooyoung,” You growled.
“Bang Chan would kill to have someone like you. You could have him if you wanted to. I just thought--BABE, OW?” Wooyoung screeched when you pinched him.
“I want you, Wooyoung,” You said quietly but firmly. “Next time you’re thinking bad thoughts like that, you tell me them immediately, so I can hit you.”
“Well I’m not going to tell you if you’re going to pinch me,” Wooyoung pouted, rubbing his chest.
“You better!” You shook your finger as menacingly as you could. “Otherwise, there will be repercussions!”
“Repercussions?” Wooyoung looked interested.
Once a brat, always a brat, you supposed.

Beastars(-ish) x Harry Potter AU !
Just some doodles of Sev, Lily and James’ early Hogwarts years, but make it Beastars. 🗣 Uhm, so I want preface that some of Severus’ nature is slightly different BUT the same in some regard. I like to think in this AU he’s a little more confrontational with James and his (less than romantic) advances with Lily. She confides in him, and he confronts him (hence the last set of doodles). Basically, I’m sort of converging some behaviors from Beastars to them, but I’m not trying to completely erase his (and others’) identity.
I’m still playing with the whole carnivore and herbivore dynamic, but really this AU is just all fun per usual. 🫶
—
If you have personal beef with me favoring Severus more than James when it comes to Lily and her relationship with both of these boys, I ain’t trynna fight you. 🤨 I literally love pretty much everyone and just want to mess around with dynamics and character designs. If certain James fans can’t handle me preferring Severus and his relationship with Lily, you’re free to not interact.
BUT I promise I don’t hate you Prongs fans… 🫶 I still value James and Lily very much I’m just Severus enjoyer.
—
Love y’all!

Are You Jealous
Paring: Draco Malfoy x Reader
Summary: You and Draco are classmates, you both know very little about each other, just a few nods and stares and some chats in class. Other than that, you two don’t really interact unless boredom or you guys get partnered up together. You have sorta developed a small crush on Draco overtime, but you think it is one-sided. Until Draco gets jealous that someone is flirting with you.
Warnings: Kinda angst, jealousy, some fluff and cuteness at the end.
Words: 1,586
A/N: This is my first time writing an actual short fic. I thought of this little OneShot and wanted to write about it. Sorry if it’s not the best. If you have any suggestions of what I could do better on let me know. I really hope you like it, please follow or/and submit a request. Have a good day/night and stay safe! :)
I was in potion’s class , bored out of my mind. Professor Snape was doing his usual lecturing about some boring ingredient for another one of our potion assignments. Somewhere in the middle of his talking, I started zoning out and staring at Draco. Draco had sat a little aways across from me, we were usually partners for most of the classes and talked a little here and there. I kept staring at him, watching as the faint white glow touched his skin and made his hair glow.
“I will be assigning everyone their group partners for this assignment.” Professor Snape spoke. My head perked up as I listened for my name to be called, and a part of me hoped I got partnered with Draco.
Nope. Instead I got paired with the famous Harry Potter, Draco’s rival. He sat down next to me and we started working on the project together. I didn’t know much about Harry, all I knew was that he survived you-know-who and played Quidditch. I had also noticed that he always looked at me and would never stop. I talked to him a few times before and he had always seemed so awkward around me.
Although our interactions were awkward he was quite kind and I returned the kindness, while trying to finish the assignment as soon as possible. I did not want to be stuck as the last person doing this assignment, Snape was tough on everyone and if you were the last person doing an assignment he would deduct points if you weren’t quick enough to finish before the timer.
Thankfully me and Harry finished the assignment before the timer, and it was a success. The only strange thing was how many times Harry brushed his hand against mine. He of course quickly pulled away, but still it was weird that it happened a lot during the assignment. We were waiting on two more groups to finish, Draco was talking to his potions partner who was also one of his friends, Blaise. So I decided to talk to Harry, discussing what class we had after this and the usual homework assignments. It really wasn’t anything special.
That is until out of nowhere Harry asked, “could we hang out over the weekends? If you're not busy then of course.”
I paused as I looked at the boy. “I’m not sure if I am busy or not, but I will let you know.” I gave a polite smile and he responded with a nod. We went back to our normal conversation before the groups had finished.
Class was dismissed and I walked out into the stampede of students trying to get to their next class. I kept walking and entered my next class, which was Charms. I sat down in my usual spot which was at the front on the right. As everyone started getting seated Draco approached me and took a seat next to me as he usually did.
“So what were you and Pottah talking about?” Draco asked, an annoyed tone in his voice.
I smirked. “Nothing much, just classes and homework. He also asked me if I was free to hang out this weekend.” I told him, talking out my parchment and quill.
In the corner of my eye, I saw his eyes roll. “And? What did you say?” Draco asked, getting his parchment and quill.
“Told him that I would think about it and see if I was free.” I said, before adding. “Why jealous?” I asked in a playful tone.
He just chuckled. “No, why would I?” He asked, looking at me. I just shrugged and was about to explain, until Professor Flitwick came into the class and hushed us.
As class started I leaned slightly closer to Draco and whispered, “explain later.” He nodded and we spent all class hearing more lectures and new incantations.
After class, me and Draco walked out to lunch and I explained that it was just a little joke. However, a little part of me wished that he was kind of jealous. To know that he might have at least a small crush on me.
Draco then departed and went over to his friends. I decided to sit by Luna today. she was, although quite odd indeed, she was a wonderful friend and could bring a smile to literally anyone. As me and Luna conversed, Harry and his two other friends Hermione and Ron had come over to sit with us. I smiled at the trio and started including them into the conversation. After lunch, Harry asked to walk me to my next class since we had the same one. I agreed and we continued part of the conversation laughing at the way Ron had defended the subject.
We made it to class and continued talking and laughing. Draco had chosen to sit with one of his Slytherin friends and I saw him sneaking glances at the two of us. At the end of class, I told Harry that if I was free on the weekend that we could meet up at the Three Broomsticks. He nodded and I started walking to my common room. As I was half way there to my house common room, Draco had appeared almost out of nowhere and walked beside me slightly brushing against my shoulder. “Hey.” I greeted him.
“Hey.” He replied back, giving me a little nod. He looked a little pissed and I felt like I knew exactly what it was about.
“So-”, I was about to speak before Draco interrupted me. “What is going on between you and Pottah?” He asked, annoyed. I stopped and stared at him.
“What do you mean?” I asked. “We are just friends, I literally have only talked to him a few times I barely know him.” I said, defensively. “Are you seriously jealous?”
“I’m not jealous.” He rebutted.
I rolled my eyes and kept walking to my common house dorm, before getting interrupted by Harry. I gave him a confused look as he was waiting outside my common room dorm. He saw me and smiled and started walking towards me.
“Harry what are you…?” I asked, as he approached me.
“I was going to wait till the weekends, but I was wondering- I have a crush on you and-” He stuttered over his words as he admitted his true feelings.
I froze before him and he waited for my response. I cleared my throat and spoke. “Look, you seem like a good guy, but I barely know you and I am also not that interested. I’m quite flattered but my answer has to be no.”
He nodded and apologized. “I understand, sorry.” Before I could speak he rushed off. I sighed and continued into my common room before going into my dorm and flopping on my bed. What a day.
The next day, I started heading down to get breakfast before seeing Draco out in the hall. I froze and we stared at each other for a few seconds. It almost reached a minute of the both of us staring at each till I walked up to him and cleared my throat. “Good morning.” I greeted.
He nodded, “morning.” He was nervously fiddling with one of the silver rings on his finger and avoiding my gaze.
“Is there something wrong?” I asked, studying the nervous fidgeting. “Are you still jealous?” I teased.
“I am not jealous.” He gritted his teeth.
“If you’re not jealous, then why do you care so much that I am hanging out with Harry?.” I crossed my arms and gave him a stern look as I interrogated him. He was definitely jealous but why wouldn’t he admit it?
“I just don’t like him.” He said, still looking at the floor avoiding my gaze.
I kept my arms crossed and looked at him. “If you don’t tell me the actual truth, I am going to go ahead and get breakfast.” I said. A long silence filled the hall as he awkwardly avoided his gaze.”Fine. Guess I’ll go.”
I was about to turn around, but instead he grabbed my arm. He looked up at me and sighed. I saw his lips move but only heard a little mumble come out which was slightly audible. “What was that?” I asked, giving a small smirk.
He rolled his eyes at me before clearing his throat. “Fine, I’m jealous.” He confessed. “I’ve started to grow feelings for you, and I tried to ignore them, but I can’t.”
A light blush started growing on my cheeks as he finally admitted his feelings. I was about to open my mouth and confess my feelings as well, but he started walking away. “Hey!” I yelled after him, grabbing his arm now. “You can’t just admit you have feelings and leave.”
“I can if you don’t feel the same.” He replied. He was about to pull away and go back into his common room, before I spoke.
“But I do have feelings for you.” I admitted softly.
He turned to look at me with a soft gaze. “Really?” He asked. “You aren’t just saying that.”
I nodded. “I really do have feelings for you Draco, I thought they were only one sided.” I kept holding his arm, hoping that this wasn’t a dream.
He looked down at me. “Well you were wrong, because I like you too.” His hand went to my chin and lifted it softly as his soft lips met mine for a gentle yet passionate kiss.

Severus and James have a weird connection with each other.
Lily: Mulciber and Avery are bad people that terrorize the school with their bigotry.
Severus: yes, but Potter is Shit!
Lily ; Mulciber used dark magic on Mary
Severus: yes, but potter is shit
Lily: Potter helped you out on that night !
Severus: yes, BUT HE’S STILL SHIT !
Lily: potter is shit, but I don’t like your friends Severus. They worry me.
Severus : you think he’s shit too 🥺
———————-
James: *finally the love of my life likes me back*
James: where is Snivellus ?
James: *Lily doesn’t want me to be a bully to others anymore*
James : that does not include Snivellus
James: *becomes quidditch captain and headboy*
James: I still need to bully Snivellus
—————-
I think they’re water and oil. Severus receives high grades and works hard to excel academically. But his social standing stands in the way of being respected. He sees the marauders, a tight knit group of friends that are having the time of their lives at Hogwarts. Two out of four rich and considered attractive. Doing so much shit and they don’t get reprimanded. They’re still liked by their peers and professors.
For James, he’s spoilt and probably seldomly hears no (if so, he has his way of getting a yes ). then comes this guy, a slytherin, unattractive, not popular, not from a big family, that actually has the gal to fight back. He tells Lily that he bully’s Severus for “the fact that he exists”.
The interaction between Severus and the other Marauders is incredibly interesting. He fears Lupin, which Remus knows and acts indifferently (tho I highly suspects that he likes poking Severus). Peter, Severus doesn’t even give him the time of day. As for Sirius, they’re always one step away from a full blown battle.
I have a feeling that James and Severus searched each other up. Rotating in a weird sadistic game of hurting each other. Man I really want to see a scene with adult James and Severus. If watching Sirius and Severus interact feels like the fire sizzling under the firework, James and Severus are the firework. Oh the joy of reading that 😍.
Typing this out, I wonder if Severus was incredibly gullible and naive as a teen. Lily is worried about the war and Mulciber/ Avery, but Severus focuses on Potter. Other than his dislike for Muggle, you don’t see his stances on muggleborns. He enables Mulciber and Avery, but I wonder if that is because of his believes or that’s just his personality. He still thinks kindly of Lily, while many would have dropped their friend if they married their childhood bully. He never tells Lily to stop being friends with people that questions her friendship with him, again many would be weirded out by that. This might read as me thinking too kindly of Snape. I probably am, but I do think forming a friendship is key in understanding a character and for that there needs to be a certain softness.
Severus is considered the perfect henchman by both Dumbledore and Voldemort. Lucious Malfoy keeps a very close relationship with him, and his son (Draco) is close to him and admires/respects him. I think Severus needs/wants a very strong male figure in his life. A competent father he never had, or a protective brother.
In the story he is tight to two mothers, Lily and Narcissa. Both defy Voldemort for their sons. Sirius and Remus protect Harry for James, but Severus solely for Lily.
I don’t know how all of this ties together, but Severus is a character in an interesting place when it comes to his relationships with other men and woman in his live.
I also have no idea where James comes into all of this. But they do have a strange obsession with one another.
controversially, anon, i don't entirely back this.
i've never been a massive fan of jeverus/snames/whatever we're calling it because it never strikes me as having any particularly interesting spark.
whereas sirius and snape have an inherent push and pull by virtue of being narrative mirrors, the tension between snape and james depends to such an extent on them competing over lily that changing that dynamic by making the two of them attracted to each other often flops.
[snape's hatred of james' superior social position and the fact that he's never punished for his troublemaking is because of lily - because he thinks she's being misled into thinking james is lovely and this will allow james to lure her away from him - for example, rather than being directed at james himself. snape's hatred of sirius is entirely focused on sirius himself.]
the toxic triad - on the other hand - slaps.
on the other points, the thing which is really interesting about snape's teenage naivety is that it almost manages to be correct. i've said this before, but he's clearly the death eater who comes closest to understanding that voldemort has no interest in upholding the wizarding world's entrenched class system [whereas regulus black - for example - thinks that the dark lord intends to usher in pureblood oligarchy] and that what he primarily cares about - to paraphrase the man himself - is power and those strong enough to seek it.
[and a lot of his dynamic with narcissa is shaped by this - narcissa clearly cottons on, well before draco and lucius, to the fact that voldemort has no intention of elevating the malfoys to quasi-royal heights...]
snape evidently views voldemort not only as his long-awaited male role model, but as his ticket to breaking through the barriers which his name, blood status, and class background set up for him in a world so obsessed with lineage and networking - and he's not wrong to.
he's also - and this is where his naivety comes into play - clearly convinced that voldemort will offer lily the same opportunities. the implication of canon is very much that he's prepared to look the other way about the fact that voldemort's violence specifically targets muggleborns [and, above all, that voldemort doesn't regard lily as an exception to his usual rule about muggleborns] until he literally can't look the other way any longer...

My Trafalgar Law HC’s!! pt.8🤍🤍
ft. Reader-ya!! + Harry Potter HC’s
Law can roll his R’s. He will flirt with Reader-ya doing this.
For Halloween, Law will dress up as a wolf and Reader-ya will be Little Red Riding Hood. (Reader-ya convinced him to do it !!)
Law really likes buying things for Reader-ya. He’ll remember her saying something like “I really want that, but I’m so broke waaa (;-;” and without knowing, he’ll buy it for her.
Law likes reading with and watching movies with Reader-ya. He likes cuddling with her under the blanket and smooching her.
He’s okay with PDA, but he only reciprocates. So, if she kisses him, he’ll kiss back. The only thing he’ll initiate is squeezing her hand to communicate.
Law will always hug and kiss her compassionately. He’ll also kiss her wrapped injuries after he’s done treating her or after a mission. If something requires bandages, he’ll always make a small bow for her as a small way of saying “I love you”.
Harry Potter HC’s!!
I think Law would be Ravenclaw and Reader-ya would be Hufflepuff.
I think Reader-ya would get bullied or hurt by someone (most likely Doflamingo) at Hogwarts and go to the infirmary room for routine checkups where Law works as a student.
Law would scold Reader-ya and listen to her and Reader-ya would open up to him. They'd talk and spend a good hour or so everyday after the first two or three meetings.
After a while, Reader-ya would stop showing up bc she's gotten better and Law gets really sad. But it's funny bc if she does show up then he'll be mad bc she's hurt LOL. He’s a total tsundere.
They discover that they take a lot of plant classes together and that Reader-ya also takes animal classes. Law would interact with her and they'd do homework together. They’d train together. Law would be stronger than Reader-ya, but she trains a lot more. It causes conflict at times.
Reader-ya would forget her homework and Law would just look away as he's handing her his notebook like “Don’t let it happen again, silly-ya”. And she smiles really big and Law turns around to catch it and just is in love with her.
It would look something like this:
They're already pretty vulnerable and open with each other at that point, and Law becomes unintentionally more compassionate and tsundere with students in the infirmary.
Regardless, he’ll be much more thorough and helpful when treating them, and be much more gentle because of Reader-ya.
Law gets teased too for hanging out and crushing over Reader-ya, because she's very eccentric and very much a lone wolf.
He waits for Reader-ya and wants her to show up. Sometimes, she’ll pass in the hall and his heart will skip a beat from the infirmary room. If she waves at him and smiles, Law’s internal CPU will crash LOL. I also forgot but Law would like watching her conjure animals.
I think she’d have a ferret, an owl, or a dog. Law would have one of those, too, but not the same one. He hates the fact that they're in different classes and so they pass notes alot too and find quiet places to hang out. They skip class together once to go into the woods and I think that'll be their flower crown chapter.
I think Law will start to realize she likes him when he catches her looking at him during lunch from another table. He also starts seeing her blush a lot more and uses it as an excuse to check her fever and look at her and touch her forehead.
She’ll also do alot more conjurations around him and draw things for him. She’ll write little things in his notebooks and during class he’ll let her draw in them. He’ll start pecking her cheeks at times and Reader-ya starts hugging him a lot more.
Law and Reader-ya get detention when they're caught sleeping together in the halls or in a quiet area they usually go to (not anything sexual, just like literally cuddling sleeping.)
Still, I like to think this could be possible but maybe the professors just let it slide when Law and Reader-ya get flirty because they realize what she endured or something and also just realize that they’re both smart, mature and healthy. They don’t have any concerns.
Before that, During xmas (I can’t remember if this is canon or not) but Reader-ya won’t have anywhere to go for the holidays, so Law will do one of two things:
1. He’ll stay behind and keep her company.
2. He’ll invite her to his place for the holidays.
On Christmas, Law kisses Reader-ya under the mistletoe and confesses his love to her. They become a very loving and strong couple!!🤍🤍🤍

In regards to my last post, I feel it's time I finally break my peace about this because a lot of rp blogs who have Harry Potter muses have been getting so much unnecessary drama directed towards them lately. I've been holding back, but it's time I finally address this in my rules (and heck, I'll even put it on my pinned post because it's sadly become a weird issue as of late.)
This is not only in regards to my Harry Potter muses, but some of my other muses and fandoms on this blog too.
I understand if you don't want to follow certain blogs that might make you uncomfortable. That's your prerogative and choice...but to bash others who rp certain fandoms, characters or even send anon hate to them is shitty. This is supposed to be a fun hobby that's stress free. If you don't like something or feel comfortable, don't follow. Don't interact. Block. It's simple as that.
When it comes to problematic creators, there is such a thing as separating them from their media. It doesn't mean you support them or stand with their views! You are allowed to like what brings you comfort and joy and still not agree with them. Heck, you shouldn't even have to state that, but these are the times we are living in currently. What is problematic are the people attacking others without understanding this!
I like Severus Snape as a character. I know some in the fandom may think differently of him, but he's meant to be a complex character that others are supposed to debate about in college classes for centuries---is he a hero or a villain? That's what makes him compelling. There is more to him than meets the eye. He will always be one of my favorite characters and that's why you will probably never see him leave this blog. Hence, if you don't like Snape as a character, then this blog probably isn't for you.
Hating on the female characters/ocs because they get in the way of your ships is just... *sighs* It's almost 2025. Let people ship what they want to ship! Let people like what they wanna like! You don't have to agree with it and that's okay, but you don't have to bash others or send anon hate because you don't agree with it either. It's not rocket science. We're tired of it. Cut the shit.
I like the Witcher Netflix. Granted, it’s not perfect by any means, but I still like it. While I don’t follow it for my muses, preferring the books and games storyline, I do use FCs from it and reblog things from it for my Ciri. Anyone from The Witcher Netflix rp is welcomed to interact with me. Any hate towards it will not be tolerated.
#𝐎𝐎𝐂 || serenity has left the group chat#*drops mic*#✌️✌️✌️#// it’s known I will personally fight any anons who come my way or bother any of my rping buddies to.#// I’m not afraid to battle some monsters ⚔️#tw venting#tw Critical
