Fanfic Thieves on Youtube

A collection of youtube channels have been uploading preexisting fanfictions in videos with little to no credit to the original authors. These are not podfics, these channels copy-paste the fics into text-to-speech readers then upload the unaltered audio over static or unrelated backgrounds, either art that is also stolen or mobile game footage. In addition to not naming the authors, they alter the title to make it that much harder for readers to recognize or find the original uploads. Some go so far as to pretend they themselves are creating the fics in question. Many claim that their stealing actually helps give fics "exposure" despite the intentional steps they take to conceal the origins of the fics they profit off of. However, this practice has lead many authors to discontinue fics after the frustration of having their hard work stolen. Many of these channels claim they will remove videos upon request, but will either argue with the author in order to keep it up, or simply unlist the video for a time until they think the author isn't paying attention anymore. And their solution to receiving strikes against their channels in the past has been to further obfuscate the origins of their content instead of even considering asking first.

”I got caught stealing, so instead of not stealing anymore, I’m doubling down on stealing even more so it’s harder for people to find out and prove I’m stealing. Stealing doesn't count if the specific person I stole from didn't call me out. I am the real victim.”

That, plus the incessant tag scumming in all the videos (spamming unrelated tags in order to appear in more search results) proves to me that these are lazy attention seekers who don't want to put in creative effort when they could just leech off of the passion of others.

In order to report them, go to their channel's "About" page and click the flag icon. Said icon might be behind the three dots in the top bar on mobile. Go to "Report User" at the bottom and tick the "spam and scams" button. This will allow you to list multiple videos as offenders instead of reporting them individually. Youtube's policy states that video spam constitutes:

Massively uploading content that you scraped from other creators.

Auto-generated content that computers post without regard for quality or viewer experience.

If you recognize one of your fics among the stolen, say so in the additional comments box, and perhaps call out the channel directly in the video's comments. If you recognize someone else's fic, please let the original author know so they can report the channel as well. Many have been confronted for stealing previously and refuse to admit wrongdoing.

Most of what I've found has been My Hero Academia fics since that's my fandom and those are the ones I can recognize as stolen, but there are many other channels that steal from other fandoms, so I invite anyone and everyone to reblog this with their own findings.

The reality is that this extremely low-effort content and new youtube channels are both very easy to make, so most likely they'll start new channels once the ones on this list are run through. But hopefully, if we all work together and keep whacking these moles, perhaps we can instill that same defeatism they caused so many creators who didn't deserve it, and eventually they'll give up.

Chiho Saito’s 1999 Revolutionary Girl Utena Original Illustration Collection

Vanna here! I have posted some already about this project, and the responses I got, public and otherwise, have been absolutely incredible. Y’all have been reblogging and hyping this before it even finished…I haven’t felt so encouraged about an Utena project since the musicals! (Yes, streams soon, I promise.) This is the first artbook I ever scanned. I did it in 2001. In Photoshop, using multiple scans per page that took hours to process. But it was 2001. A half megabyte file that was 1250px wide was considered extremely hardcore and impressive. That’s just always been the business I’m in when it comes to Utena art, you know? 

It’s now the latest artbook I’ve scanned, and so much of the process, and effort involved, is unchanged. What has changed, is the result. Welcome to your new desktop background. Your new phone background. Your new poster print. 

What I’ve done here is attempt to create definitive digitized images of Chiho Saito’s work as offered by this book--I have removed the print moiré of the original scans, and used my literal decades of experience to try and tease out as much information from them as possible. Without being physically in front of the original artwork (which is a thing I’ve had the great fortune to get to do) this is The Most Chiho Saito you are ever going to get. I’ve tried my best to make sure there is a way to get it that works for everyone:

I have a confession. This artbook was my ‘side project’ as I worked on this, *the main project.* For a couple years I’ve been banging around with a new domain, and originally I had other plans for it, but Elon Musk ruined my Twitter and Discord is well along on its way to enshittification, and well….we joke on the Discord a lot about ‘reject modernity, embrace forums’ and you know what? We’re right. So Yasha and I are putting our money where our mouths are once again, and doing something insane. We are launching, in 2023, a website forum. Obviously, this is not the official ‘launch’ per se, but I cannot announce the artbook without directing you to the forum, since it sits on the attached very cool gallery system. Oops! Told on myself. Another post more focused on the forum will be forthcoming, but if you are just that motivated to get in right away, you absolutely can! (This will help stagger new arrivals anyway, which is good for us!) If you would rather wait for the ‘official’ launch, by all means that’s coming, including a lengthy screed about how and why we’re doing this. In either case, remember: this is a couple weebs trying to make internet magic happen, we are not website developers by trade. narumi gen and academic achievement

note: uh first post yay. english is not my first language ngl. also idk how to format anything please. writing this while i have an essay due tmr morning is crazy though.

• Recently, you've been stressing yourself over the overwhelming tests and work that never seems to end. After working your ass off for weeks without any respite, all your efforts are finally being paid off.

• Staring back at you was your phone screen with words of congratulations and a high score written along with it.

• Absolutely elated you turned to Narumi Gen, your close friend of many years. Preparing to tell the good news to Narumi who's busy with his controller and some kind of BS5 game.

• There's a high chance of him not even hearing you because he's too absorbed in his gaming, bloodshot eyes boring holes into the screen. Yet, you're still showing him your phone screen anyway, excitedly displaying your proud achievements. The adrenaline rush overpowering the small, hideous doubt stored in a corner of your mind.

• At first, you're sure he didn't even register your voice talking to him. But then suddenly Narumi is putting down his controller and taking the phone from your hand, the BS5 no longer playing game music and sound effects. His bangs block half of his face so you can't read his expression well. Silently, you eagerly awaits his reaction.

• After a while, he says "You worked hard so it's to be expected that you would do well," before handing your phone back to you. It's startling, but Narumi is really someone who is blunt.

• "Yeah...but there was a chance I still wouldn't be able to do it you know?" Narumi, who senses the sadness in your voice, goes still. Finally, he lets out a huff and faces you properly.

• "What are you talking about? Since when did you have so little faith in yourself? You always gave your all in everything so this result isn't surprising in the least." Damn this guy and his attitude.

• But this is pretty much Narumi Gen's roundabout way of saying I've seen you put your effort into this and I believed you would succeed from the start. It might seem like he doesn't care, but Narumi is a person who pays close attention to someone important to him.

• It did kind of sound like he was scolding you though. "Narumi, you really..." "Hah!?!?" Breaking a smile, the bickering between you and Narumi erases the traces of doubt lingering in your mind.

• Narumi is someone who knows about hard work, results, and acknowledgement better than anyone. So, I believe he would think that you were more than capable of achieving the results that you wanted. Even if he's not as direct about it, he has a lot of trust in your abilities.

• If you end up falling asleep in the living room at the end of the day, the familiar sounds of Narumi's BS5 lulling you to sleep. He would take a glance at you before muttering something like a, "You did well," his gaze holding a kind of secret fondness to it.

Ok I'm finally gonna post on my gut feelings about the next chps (including this months one)

Ok I know it's a scratch BUT I have a tiny gut feeling Teru's gonna make another appearance- again I KNOW this is a stretch and I'm not betting on it BUT I'm gonna post it anyway JUST IN CASE IM RIGHT.

I have a tiny gut feeling Teru might appear again to make sure Nene doesn't fail-

I know that the sunflower trio is definitely cooked BUT it could be possible that what Teru did to The Red House could give them an opportunity to get out and meet up with Nene-

Or at least one of them- and it could be Teru...

The grief and anger he's feeling rn has resulted in VERY intense power outputs from him- we've NEVER seen this kind of output from Teru and it's INSANE.

Teru has no reason to hold back rn bc if he does he quite literally has EVERYTHING to lose- he made sure Nene got out of there and that definitely could be as far as his help goes (bc again I know this is a stretch)

But if this kind of output continues from him I wouldn't be surprised at all if we see him come and help Nene bc if she fails Teru loses EVERYTHING...they all do but with his recent lose he's graving the absolute most rn and that could turn into his greatest motivation to make sure Nene succeeds.

Another point is Nene is absolutely defenseless rn...Nene has shown to handle herself well on her own but against The Red House? Absolutely not...I'm 100% curtain that The Red House is gonna follow her to the School more specifically Tsukasa.

Tsukasa is ABSOLUTELY gonna make an appearance again probably honestly this chp-

Tsukasa said he wanted to see Nene again he can absolutely go to the School (ty random person on TikTok for pointing out Tsukasa said he wanted to see Nene again 🙏)

I definitely think Tsukasa is going to make an appearance in the School (definitely the most likely)

But what about some other little things that could happen?

Like maybe him?

He's our last lead with Amane- Nene still needs to know what happened to Amane and Tsukasa to try and figure out what changed- that's why they went to The Red House in the first place and OBVIOUSLY she's CAN'T go back there especially after Teru made that last effort to get her out so who better then Tsushigomori?

He's ALWAYS been a supernatural (or at least he died WAYYY long ago) so technically he shouldn't have been messed with by the Clook Keepers at all? And I KNOW everyone says every arc is gonna be his BUT I feel like he's gonna play a role in this arc-

If he still has his library and still has his powers (he's just not a Mystery anymore) then he would be our best shot LITERALLY.

His power and his books weren't talked about a lot and we still know so little about him, his books and more specifically the "Red Books" what are they?

We never got an answer to that question...

I feel like this arc would be perfect for him but I'm not gonna get my hopes up- but I DO feel like it makes sense why he would make an appearance and even maybe play a role in this arc and he quite literally would be the PERFECT lead for what has changed in the current timeline

Another possibility is the broadcasting club-

We haven't seen them at all yet so it could be possible they could make an appearance but I'm not to hopeful about this one-

Yes, before we even START this blog, I kindly request that you reblog this. I request a reblog with questions and proof at the end, but reblog this if you see it PLEASE. This is a massive theory on the entirety of Rick and Morty as a show as well as C-137. This is not my usual kind of post, but I’ve been working on it for months. It recontextualizes the entire show and required a lot of proof and effort for it to stay together. If you could spread it around, I would appreciate that so much from the bottom of my heart. This is my passion project.

This is my ‘Rick Meta-Parasite’ theory.

There are many instances of parasitic entities across Rick and Morty that have a common theme. Each one will be explained here first, before I try to explain why they even appear.

There’s the Total Rickall parasites that latch onto the family to create false memories to anchor themselves. These parasites just barely resemble Previous Leon, a similar entity. They both create fake memories to flash back to and manifest themselves over and over, spreading out and multiplying. Previous Leon is more ‘meta’, which is going to be explained later on.

The Total Rickall parasitic aliens likely come from Unity’s planet. I say this because these two episodes are right next to each other. Beta-7 and Unity meet up constantly, meaning there is a hivemind alliance between MULTIPLE hiveminds out there. This is also going to be crucial to remember. Rick says that the parasitic aliens likely came from the bottom of someone’s shoe, so Summer or Morty might have accidentally stepped on this parasite from a hivemind source and brought it to their home as a result. That explains what these parasites are doing to begin with

There are other examples of parasitic entities in Rick and Morty. But these are targeting the mind and memories. We know that the Federation consists of bug-like aliens that created a device that allows them to enter the mind of Rick to extract the schematics of his portal gun, which was still shown to be false later on

So we have a galactic federation made up of bug aliens that targeted Rick and innovated technology to enter Rick’s mind for portal travel. Going back to the aforementioned hiveminds, we know that Unity and Rick had a relationship together. Unity literally tells Rick that he’s more of a parasite than she could ever be. The two relate to this sentiment, which will ALSO be explained soon. One thing at a time, I just have to keep these things in your mind

The fear hole is implied to be sentient, but it leeches off of fear. Although it was stated to go after Rick, I think this was a method used to just get the most fear out of Morty instead. It would allow him to dive deeper into his fears from this false statement that threw him off. It IS interesting that it appeared in a Denny’s. Rick loves Shoney’s, a place that exists as a parody of Denny’s. Instead, this parasitic hole manifested itself in the ORIGIN of this parody that Rick holds close. This will be the final thing to keep in mind before I dive into this theory one final time

Rick is a meta-fictional parasite.

We already know he IS a parasite. I mean come on, he came into another Beth’s life and travels through dimensions. Unity sees him as a literal bloodsucker. Morty tells Summer that Rick goes into people’s lives and just leaves them once he gets what he wants. It’s not a new idea that he’s a parasite, but this is a change of pace. Already, this is basing itself on the idea that Rick is a parasite in the NARRATIVE sense.

When we say Rick, we are referencing C-137, NOT Prime. That’s because Prime is the Rick of the Rick and Morty franchise. C-137 is pretending to be a Rick that eventually found this property to latch onto. There’s a few reasons as to why this happened at all. The first is that this parasite took the place of the scapegoat of Rick Prime, who would inevitably create portal travel

This portal travel method would allow him to escape his own dimension if necessary, not to mention it would create a container and franchise to exist in. This would be the border of the meta structure. But first, let’s explain the cosmology so far:

The Central Finite Curve is capped out at a certain point. The reason it curves is due to the deviations on every single dimension. The word dimension being used is very interesting, because it can be used to describe the features and aspects of an object. To ask the dimensions of a box is to ask how long, wide, and tall it is. To ask about the dimensions of the Central Finite Curve, you’d also be asking about what makes it up and causes it to curve. That would be the slight alteration to every single hypothetical Rick scenario

We end up seeing that dimensions can have sub-iterations added onto them from deviations OF DEVIATIONS that are specific enough to be noted. The D-716 Ricks are classed as B and C. They are minor divergent points from D176, which is already a branch from Prime’s dimension. And like how dimensions describe the shape of an object, the way it branches out would be literally spiraling out into a curve that is off by JUST a bit each time

The Central Finite Curve caps out at Rick being the smartest being several times over. The outside of the curve is chaotic because it has boundaries or shapes. There is nothing that centralizes and defines it, so it is a mess. And since Rick slowly becomes more and more irrelevant as the curve displaces each dimension by adding deviations, the point at which Rick no longer matters is the point where the multiverse actually begins. This explains both boundaries clearly. With that being said, there’s still more to explain

There is the edge of the canon itself and what was considered non-canon. This is the outside level of the continuity that is basically formless and desperate to find some format in any way. We know that the story train is circular. If it were to deviate, it would form a spiral, a CURVE. That describes the still state of the curve when it originally began as well.

Something important is that the outside of the train is referred to as the non-canon state of reality. But it’s also worthy of an explanation. Check this scene out

The outside of the non-canon isn’t just not canon. It’s formless as described before. It is ‘free floating’, so to speak. The Tickets, Please Guy is being submerged into countless narratives to try to anchor him. It spirals out of control. Every single non-canon instance we see is one that has no set narrative or format

That’s also why the self-proclaimed non-canon Rick and Morty series takes place in another medium entirely to try to anchor its narrative. It needs some way to anchor itself, so this outer shell also relies on trying to find the nearest location. That would be the multiverse, the Central Finite Curve at least. This explains how Story Lord already considered himself an enemy of Rick, someone who’s clearly able to travel through all of these spaces and saw Rick’s clear potential (which will be explained later in full detail as to why Story Lord is his nemesis)

That would also explain Previous Leon’s existence as someone who implants false memories and causes feedback loops through flashbacks. It’s to find some way to anchor themselves and tread through the multiverse. But why?

It seems that each parasitic entity is capable of finding their designated host. The entire point is that they can navigate through the non-canon or similar spaces to find a host for themselves. They’re mainly concerned about the meta-fictional parasite known as Rick C-137. That’s because this version managed to rebel against the usual Rick format. Being the ‘Rickest Rick’ despite not even being Rick is insane in this context now. Even LOOk at the dimension they assign him in:

C - 3, prime number

1 - prime

3 - prime

7 - prime

3,137 - prime

His assigned dimensionality is prime. Going back to what I said about the dimensions, we know that he and Rick Prime were the first ones to start this. A prime axis would be the very center of this ‘shape’ I keep describing, C-137 being a false prime as well but still as important

Finally cycling back to the original point I was making, Rick took this spot to be the other Rick who created portal travel. Where does the meta-fictional parasite part come in? Oh, that’s right

We need to talk about The Real Animated Adventures of Doc and Mharti first. That’s right, the thing that actually started Rick and Morty that’s never referenced. This is the part of the theory that goes crazy. If you just wanted an explanation of the Central Finite Curve and stuff, now would be a good time to leave. Otherwise, strap in.

The Real Animated Adventures of Doc and Mharti started as a Back To The Future parody. The actual source is crude and does include sexual scenes that won’t be explained here. It would lead to something disturbing, though. Back To The Future also literally has an incest subplot with Marty and his mother in the past. If these two became Rick and Morty, then yeah, it’s also gross shit between them. And we know this sadly became a theme in the show that popped up over time. But that…sadly matters to this theory and explains a lot

When I use this term, I am also referring to a self-parasitic method that Rick is initiating. He is surrounding himself with OTHER Ricks as well, despite them being deviations. It’s some universal sibling relationship, if you think about it. I mentioned that the non-canon system is free floating and allows any format to manifest. When this Doc and Mharti…you know, off-screen and shit, it created a deviation level that was not possible. It is detached from the parody on another level. It’s not related to the original source and parody anymore. As it passes, there is less satire and parody. It becomes its own thing. It creates an original character, just like how Rick and Morty is no longer tied to Back To The Future

We get Rick Sanchez, C-137.

That’s not where the theory ends, though.

If this parasite was born through that and was self-parasitic, it would anchor itself to a character that resembles him and Doc and Mharti. That would be Rick Prime

That explains how C-137 and Prime existed at different times despite being the ‘main characters’, so to speak. Think of it like this

Rick and Morty was ALREADY EXISTING with Rick Prime, until C-137’s parasitic form pushed through the non-canon and latched onto this host that resembled his ‘dad’ and himself to continue the cycle. Every now and then, these gross themes and parodies pop up as the literal lifeline of Rick C-137 to sustain him. He is also fueled with the resentment of Rick Prime for destroying Diane, which can also be explained in this context clearly

If Rick has to exist as an anchored character, that means he needs an in-universe anchor as well. He needs to blend in and exist in the narrative. That’s where Diane comes in

Diane kept Rick C-137 from leaving into the non-canon and actually existing in-universe. When she was unexpectedly killed, it threatened Rick and caused him to create portal travel. He kills two birds with one stone when he hunts down Rick Prime. That would also explain why portal travel, Operation Phoenix, and other lifelines are used. The theme of incest is also being used metaphorically like I said - it persists because it was the origin source. That’s also why parodies are so prominent across the show too, but are somewhat spread out. UNTIL it peaks around the time Rick Prime is killed

And Season 7, the season he’s killed, has no incest. There aren’t as many parodies either, because he is fully independent. He has removed all anchors from himself at this point by instead cementing his new purpose in-universe, not just through meta-fiction or non-canon instances

By the way, we still aren’t done. We have a lot more things to explain

If Doc and Mharti exist as a parody backstory, we can also explain Shoney’s easily

Shoney’s is a parody that also anchors Rick. It’s the first thing that we see in The Rickshank Rickdemption and Rick’s mind when these parasitic Federation soldiers try to extract the backstory from Rick’s memories. Shoney’s as a parody of Denny’s shows the idea that this is a lifeline. Ironically enough, there seems to be duality when it comes to…the whole Szechuan Sauce existing here as an extended reference that affected the real world. Why am I mentioning this?

Well, Rick is still using ways to contextualize himself in the world of Rick and Morty. Yet he’s using a parody instead of the real deal. The real Denny’s would be on the same plane as Doc and Mharti’s level of reality. That means it actually pierces through these layers, the fear hole is a hole drilled across all three layers of reality being shown here. Why do you think it was able to show Morty the TRUE nature of Rick??

It literally shows how Rick is unhealthy by exposing Morty through the ugly truth. You know how the hole has layers? That’s because Morty is passing through those layers of reality - the ONLY way to know Rick inside and out across every possible layer. He basically learned his origin and primary function during it

We also have Evil Morty to explain. How did he extract Rick’s backstory when The Citadel of Ricks couldn’t?

That’s easy

Evil Morty is basically a counter parasite

So I started this theory showing how there’s so many parasites, then explained that Rick was one. Even if that seems like a good segue, I didn’t actually explain how it works. But I can now!

Previous Leon is able to pass through the fourth wall, it’s shown to be a power early on that Rick SOMEHOW KNOWS ABOUT when he sees it happen before him. That’s because all of these parasites can pass through these layers of reality, mainly the meta and non-canon ones. Remember how I said the non-canon is basically formless like the multiverse? Previous Leon is one of many beings who can anchor themselves easily. If they use Rick’s origin source, they would be the only ones who could actually use that information meaningfully. The Federation extracting portal travel information means they can’t even have quick travel methods like Rick’s portal gun. Do you expect them to actually be able to travel through the meta and non-canon layers when, as shown before, it’s impossible to navigate and stay latched onto one narrative?

These are meta-fictional parasites because they are narrative parasites. They are the only ones capable of pulling this off. And just to prove a point, The Self-Referential Six are literally the same type of idea

-Flash Back enacts flashbacks, which has been shown before with Leon and the Total Rickall parasites

-Protago Nick, who would be establishing hosts before latching onto them with the weight of protagonism

They are literary devices that become real. They exist within these characters, because their named and designated designs are the Rick and Morty version of these characters. Of course they can travel through non-canon easily, they’re the sentient extensions of actual literary devices!!

Okay, this did derail a bit. I just explained how, technically, retcon itself exists in Rick and Morty. But let’s get back to my point after I explained why there’s parasites everywhere.

Evil Morty led Rick C-137 to kill Prime. This would be Rick killing his main host to leave him as an empty shell with no purpose and nothing to feed off. Evil Morty was also able to subvert the curve and leave it entirely. He denounces the name ‘Evil Morty’, which has an in-universe explanation. But also in the context of this theory, it’s because he is not just some deviation of a dimension. He transcends that, meaning he is a parasite and not a byproduct of this parasitic war. That also explains why he can eventually pass through the multiverse and outside the Central Finite Curve, a power I keep saying parasites hold

The reason he can actually get Rick’s backstory is because it’s more of a dissection device. He is aware of his own nature and was able to create a device that extracted the mind of a parasite. This would be identical technology to the one that Evil Morty implants in Rick Prime’s brain! He has anti-parasite measures because he knows about his nature! Don’t believe me?

This is the same Morty that located an Evil Rick who himself stated he was a few deviations off C-137. This is the same Morty that created an eyepatch that CONTROLS THE BRAIN.

What do all of these parasites do? GO AFTER THE BRAIN OF RICK.

So Evil Morty clearly has this technology in place to use, besides the fact that he was a parasite among Ricks by taking a place of power within The Citadel of Ricks. That enough is an explanation for continuing the fight between both Ricks and somehow being able to extract his backstory when everybody else failed. Remember - multiversal variants are deviations, the few beings I’ve been mentioning are parasites. And as the cherry on top, who does Story Lord allow to be the leader of an entire army of Ricks in the Story Train’s manifestation?

Evil Morty.

The parasite killer. The one thing Story Lord knew would stop this meta-fictional parasite right in his tracks.

There are still a few things I need to explain before I wrap this theory up

For one, I mentioned Operation Phoenix being a lifeline. Wouldn’t it be worse for Rick to go to a dimension other than his in another body? Even if it helps him come back?

Operation Phoenix would re-establish Rick’s place across the Central Finite Curve, even if he’s in another set of deviations. He already moved dimensions, so this is fine. He would also be spreading out his influence, which is what he did in The Rickshank Rickdemption and when he switched to other dimensions

What about Memory Rick?

At first, this actually stumped me. I felt like this was too important to dismiss but also had way too little information to its name. Until I realized that this is a manifestation of Rick in Birdperson’s memories that acts completely different

Kind of sounds like how I explained multiversal deviation off-sets or parody deviations that become their own character

That become SENTIENT.

Sentient enough to willingly cross minds and memories…

In a way, Memory Rick was dormant and became a willing parasite in Rick’s memories AS WELL. That can explain how Memory Rick works as well

This can also explain Slow Mobius’ wife AND my theory on Summer becoming Rick. I couldn’t hold back, I just had to mention Summer at some point. But the idea is how hunting after a host makes you a parasite. Again, this echoes a statement by Evil Morty about how if wanting Rick gone is bad, then it’s considered evil and is more of a demoting statement. They are classed as parasites hunting their host. Their lives were ruined and feel fulfilled AS they chase their target, but it leaves them meaningless once they actually kill their host.

I’m referring to how Slow Mobius went on a hunt for whoever killed her husband. I’m also referring to my theory about how if Rick left Summer’s life, she’d become just like him when HE was finding Rick Prime - taking the mantle of Rick without any of the glamor.

There’s also the theory I have that Summer is likely being turned into Diane. She can either be a parasite anchor and canonizer OR another Rick-esque parasite on the prowl. These deviations are being set AS WE SPEAK and Rick is fully aware of it in some way

This is the archetype of these parasites. That’s why Rick C-137 is so desired across these people who want his origin. His numbers are prime, he SEEMS prime, HE IS THE FALSE PRIME!! There cannot be an even number of primes though, that’s against logic, LITERALLY! Instead, he exists as the prime PARASITE archetype that they all come from. Meanwhile, Rick Prime is the prime HOST instead. Since one is native to the franchise first, one is seen as ‘actually prime’, while the outsider is not seen that way

So, for the recap of this entire theory that honestly, can hold way more information than shown:

Rick C-137 is the son of Doc and Mharti. This deviation of parodies and sources created an abomination parasite that sought out a host to leech onto. It found an existing franchise with a character similar to its dad and itself. As it settled, it became an in-universe being until its in-universe wife was killed. This would kickstart portal travel, a way to spread out its influence and to kill its host now. Even if this removed their purpose, this meta-fictional parasite would not care at ALL. Throughout the journey, we see similar beings who want to find the origin of this parasite for two reasons. One, it allows portal travel, and two, it allows them to dissect this current parasite that dismantled an entire franchise and remade it around itself - a ‘Rickest Rick’ more Rick than Rick Prime.

The themes of incest and parody exist as the metaphor for how the show satures itself WITH its own crude nature, like its father origin and itself. Over and over. A parasite feeding on itself because its host is gone. And this parasite then decides to critically examine itself when its host, show host, SHOW RUNNER, LEAVES THE PRODUCTION OF THE SHOW. Around the same time the SAME host known as Rick Prime also leaves the picture. This leaves the parasite purposeless without realizing how far they’ve come and become their own character - right until their companion runs into a hole plunged through all of this that exposes them.

Oh and for the record I do not endorse incest or it happening in the show or fandom. DO NOT HOLD THIS AGAINST ME. PROSHIPPERS, DO NOT USE THIS EITHER. This is a meta-fictional theory that also managed to involve that element into the narrative because that’s what this theory is all about, got it?

Here we are, on the cusp of 2025.

This is my last 'signing on' post of 2024.

This is normally the part where I'd share the drawings I'm proudest of from the first and last halves of the year...but something bizarre happened this year.

Looking through all the drawings I've done over the course of 2024...there are just so many art projects I'm proud of that it might actually be easier for me to list the drawings I've done this year that I'm not that crazy about.

I...can't think of another time in my life where something like this has happened. But it's true--there were a lot of drawings I made this year that I set out to do, got done...and I'm actually really happy with the end results! And yeah okay, I still wish that my art got more notes here on Tumblr, but regardless of how much attention it may or may not end up getting, I have even more drawing ideas planned for the future, and with any luck as I keep working and practicing my art and other creative endeavors, my efforts will start getting noticed by more people :P Obviously I'm going to keep drawing and making art regardless anyway...but that in and of itself I think is proof of how far I've come, considering that once upon a time I got VERY easily discouraged and self-conscious about my art, and was too scared to even TRY drawing.

So instead, I'm going to shout-out some awesome people, some of whom are also artists :P

Hi hello

I'm... Taking a bit of a break, from social media and fandom related stuff aka isat fandom first and foremost

These two-three months were great, don't get me wrong, but...

I didn't really get anything form it other than a ton of irl problems, because of the priorities mixed in my brain

It's fine, everything's perfect even

Haven't felt like my art is liked this much... Pretty much basically never. Not even long ago.

I do enjoy sketching for myself, but that all was low effort and low interest in return and began to become more and more passionate about anything as a result

And... I think I burnout myself for real this time, both fandom wise and emotionally.

There were no conflicts, really, like yesterday was the most fun I had in years compressed in one day

And yet. It doesn't affect anything in my real life. Even more so my hyperfixation affected it super negatively and if it was anyone's fault it was mine.

So. I think it's time to set one thing straight - so I'm taking a break. Not deleting anything here again, just probably going silent aside from my scheduled 3 pm reblogs I've gathered in last 6 months.

I'm awake not, at 4 pm (or more like 5 pm) because I fell asleep at 8 am drawing and drawing for no reason. And it wasn't really worth all that effort. Nothing ever was worth any effort honestly.

And when you start questioning to yourself if it's worth it and can't find the excuse to continue on going and burning yourself away until you finally choke from your own grip on your useless neck... Isn't it better to rethink last choices?

I'm long past the point of having a mental break and cry that life isn't fair or something. And more than that I don't need help.

Honestly this little post is really just a quiet vent while I sort my thoughts.

And I've sorted them. Isat is just... To good to be true right now for me. Undeserved.

So a break, and I can thing of so many reasons while never believing any! But right now the effort it takes is not worth it, sorry. And I'm not scheduling again because that just resulted in me being scared that I posted one post twice

And now... I don't have that post anymore. And it did shook me, and it's still there.

Does it matter that the original post is deleted? Nope. You might never find it outside of reblogs with a wrong looking text and that's it.

Hello! I'm happy the weekend is here and I have plans to enjoy it. I hope you're doing well! Thank you so much for the lovely asks.

1. Write a scene from 'Is Not That Strange?' in Newt or Anathema's POV:

In the interest of time, I promise I will answer this, I've already got some ideas, but I'll need to slot it into my writing schedule, so it'll take me a hot minute. I'll reblog this post with the results when it's done.

2. Which of your fics is your pride and joy?

'Unfallen' is always going to have a very special place in my heart specifically because I didn't believe I could finish a story until I managed to write that one. Nothing else would have been possible if 'Unfallen' hadn't rattled around in my brain demanding to be let out.

After that, I think either 'Terminus' because I was really happy with how it came together and how well it was received, or 'Is Not That Strange?' for being something that was both playing with tropes but also new and interesting for me.

3. What are your top three most commonly used tags on AO3?

So in checking on the answer for this one, I've had to come to terms (yet again) with the fact that I am really shit at tags. But here's some sort of an answer:

Mind Manipulation - when I first started out, most of my stories had some sort of memory shenanigans

Crowley Forgets Aziraphale in self-defense - this is entirely due to my post-season 2 series since each entry gets tagged with it

Fluff/Mostly Fluff - I've found that any time I dip a toe in angst I need to write an excess of fluff to reset my brain chemistry

7. Coffee or tea while you write?

Mountain Dew when I write, almost exclusively.

I do like tea but I tend to drink it at work where I can get it for free.

I'll drink coffee, but I like my coffee like I like my alcohol - I don't want to taste the base ingredient.

16. What do you struggle with most when writing?

The easy answer is focus. I have raging ADHD and whenever the words aren't flowing easily, my brain is seeking easier sources for dopamine without checking in with me first. To help avoid that, I do things like setting my phone out of reach and opening my writing in a separate window so I don't see all the other tabs with their notification counts, which... helps some.

There are parts of the actual writing that I feel like I'm not as skilled at as others, but I wouldn't call those struggles. They're just things that I'm working on challenging myself to improve.

17. What is something you recently felt proud of in your writing?

This might seem odd, but I'm actually really proud of the fact that I'm taking the wonderful editing I get from @mythosandsuch and carrying his suggestions forward into my first draft work. Basically, as he's taken up the job of helping improve my stories, I noticed trends with some of his feedback. Specifically, there were things that I was doing pretty consistently and by working on changing those habits both in the first draft process and in my initial editing, it's making my writing stronger.

I know from experience that editing can be a really hard job and I will forever be grateful for the time and effort that @mythosandsuch puts into making my writing shine.

Seriously, beyond the regular mundane editing and invaluable feedback, at least once a chapter he finds a very silly mistake that I'm grateful got caught before the posting stage.

23. What's a story you'd love to write but haven't even started yet?

This is tough. I fall in and out of interest with stories in a way that I have almost no control over. I have small scene ideas that are really gripping, but if I haven't fleshed out a whole outline around it yet, the idea as a whole doesn't really get under my skin and demand to be written.

I have a time travel story that has some interesting elements. There's a vampire AU that I've been poking at an outline for, but the final battle and resolution is too vague for me to lock in on it. Truthfully, I have a bunch of folders of ideas and whenever I finish something I go poking around hoping one of them will catch my eye.

28. What's the angstiest idea you've ever come up with?

I had one where Crowley was an incorporeal spirit who was drawn to places where people were about to die, but he had almost no ability to save them, which was such a horrible way to exist that he thought it must be some sort of punishment. No one who isn't deceased ever saw him until he met Aziraphale because someone was stabbed behind the bookshop. Since Aziraphale can see him, he convinces Crowley to let him help him try to save people. Crowley is hesitant from the start and though they do manage to save some of the people together. But as Crowley feared, Aziraphale ends up in harms way and badly injured a few times in the process. At one point, Aziraphale is hurt so bad it seems like he might die and he believes maybe this is a way they can finally be together. That was not the resolution of the situation because Crowley has been keeping secrets about who he used to be...

There was more to it than that, but the whole story was just angst and pining all the way down. Plus, you know, unknown strangers in mortal peril. I started writing the first chapter, but there really wasn't room for the type of humor I like to have in my stories and when I realized how far into the negative emotions I would need to wade to finish it, I concluded it would make me miserable to try to write it.

35. Are you working on anything at the moment?

I am! None of my big ideas caught my attention when I sat down to write again after I finished posting my last fic, so I decided to knock out the next entry in my series 'Till the Hurting is Done'. I figured those are usually a few thousand words, I could easily finish it in a few days-a couple of weeks at most! Now I'm watching the word count confidently approaching the 20k mark. But I'm happy to follow where the story needs to go.

In the series as a whole, after Season 2, Crowley decided to pull a Jim and get rid of his memories. He just decided to only forget the ones that included Aziraphale specifically. Problem is, the outcome is a little less stable than Crowley expected. In one of the earlier entries, Warlock showed up and Anthony, the name he prefers post memory dump, doesn't recognize the boy, but feels a strong desire to try to help him.

In the entry I'm working on now, Warlock has returned to Whickber Street. He's ready to accept the offer of help because he can't stop thinking about the man who is the spitting image of the nanny who disappeared with the family gardener the night before Warlock's eleventh birthday.

okay, are y'all ready? cause we got results from that smut poll, and it absolutely confirms everything i'd already discovered through keeping a stats spreadsheet of my own fics.

let's fucking talk about this!! first, almost 5% of people either don't read explicit fics on ao3 or don't read fics at all, so we can just sort of slide those results out of the poll entirely, since they don't matter for purposes of information gathering here. the big thing that i sort of KNEW would be a thing but was desperately hoping i had made up in my head is not that 5% of people, but the staggering 15.4% of people who say they won't even leave a kudos on explicit works that they liked (options 1, 2, 3, and 7).

now, interaction, at least in my fandom, is pretty shitty anyway. i've had people i considered friends in this fandom point-blank tell me they read my fic and i hadn't seen a kudos from them in 6 months. i will yell until the fucking world explodes that it's a GOD DAMN BUTTON that you CLICK and takes zero effort, and yet. here we are. that 15% of people? i am so fucking uncharitable towards. you don't deserve to read fic at all. you don't deserve to read a single explicit fic. it's an ANONYMOUS WEBSITE. literally nothing is stopping you from creating A SECOND USERNAME if you are THAT WORRIED about someone seeing that you left a kudos on an explicit fic, which, might i remind you, no one can fucking see unless they are on the fic themselves (or the author).

see, the thing about smut, is that for a lot of us, it's nerve-wracking to post. it's nerve-wracking to WRITE. and we are out here, putting our whole ass username on it BECAUSE WE ARE THE ONES POSTING IT (unless you post to anonymous), and y'all can't even click a button at the bottom of the fic??? a ton of the tags mentioned that this is a devil's sacrament situation, and they're right. anyone who sees you in the kudos list either also read the fic or wrote the fic. all you are doing is hurting your chances of getting more fic. honestly, the not leaving kudos pisses me off way more than the not leaving comments does lol. it's the lowest of energy. it's a fucking button. you can click it with your finger, or your nose, or you dick, idgaf, but you click that god damn button. absolutely horrible lol.

but then you gotta look at the other options, where people leave kudos but not comments. a few people were like "oh haha my explicit fics get lots of interaction" well good for you, you must have a real dedicated group of friends who reads and comments on your shit lol, but most of us don't have that! we are out here worrying over, was this hot? did i do a decent job? did i get the characters right? because i find smut difficult not just because i freeze up trying to write the narration, but because i am so focused on making sure the characters still read like themselves! and we just wanna know if we got it right, if it was sexy, if it sounded good. 56.2% of readers will not leave comments on explicit fics that they like.

that leaves us with just under 20% of people who will leave a kudos AND leave a comment on the fic if it's explicit.

look. i knew this would happen lol. i keep a spreadsheet of my fic stats (one-shots only, as chapters skew hit counts). anything explicit will end up sitting at about half what the others are in terms of kudos and comments. a lot of reblogs mentioned that people re-read explicit fics more, but in a small fandom like mine (tiny! niche! very low fic count!) i find that ALL my fics get re-reads simply because there is so little of it available, and that all the fics get the re-read numbers by the end.

if you ever wonder, why don't i have more fic to read? this is why. fic writers are putting this out for free. we are creating this out of love. yes, we all know, and have been told about 5 million times by everyone under the sun, that we should write for ourselves, but that's not the point of FANDOM. fandom is for interaction. fandom is for finding community. and fandom ain't gonna get fic if people treat writers like content creators on tiktok.

my last huge fandom was livejournal based, and sometimes i'm struck by how much i miss that. there were no hit counts on LJ. no kudos buttons. the ONLY way people could interact with your fic was to reply to the entry. and people DID. that's how we all made friends. that's how we all connected. that's how we created our community. people commented on your fic, and the ecosystem thrived. and people just don't do that anymore.

anyway. for the people who, like me, said they would kudos and comment on explicit fics, thank you. you are keeping this whole place afloat. and here are some of my favorite tags, the ones that made me feel slightly better about how the results from this came down.

I recently received an ask containing some concerns the asker had about medical fatphobia. That ask is not posted, because the asker requested that it be answered privately, but I thought it was worth making a list of advice for those of you who are facing fatphobia and are trying to access medical care.

Some of you may feel too triggered, scared, or frustrated to speak up for yourselves when you feel your doctor isn't taking care of your needs. If you're concerned about your ability to do this throughout your appointment, consider bringing along a trusted individual who can serve as an advocate. A family member or friend might be able to do this for you if you have anybody you trust enough. Make a plan with this person beforehand, keeping your specific concerns and triggers in mind. Doctors may be more concerned about showing you respect if they're aware that their interactions with you are being observed.

If you've come in to be seen about a problem and you're concerned it's not related to your weight, but your doctor assumes that it is, try asking them what advice they would give to a thin patient who was struggling with the same symptoms.

Doctors may suggest weight loss as a first course of treatment, and assume that failure to lose weight means you haven't tried. This means you can wait and wait to get your problem addressed, only to have them refuse to address it at all. Some health problems cannot afford to wait that long. Get a second opinion. And if they refuse to pursue further testing, say you want it noted in your chart that your doctor chose not to test further.

I know it's so frustrating and triggering to go through the effort of getting an appointment, only to have your concerns dismissed. This piece of advice is going to be frustrating, because the last thing you'll feel like doing is attempting to speak with more doctors, but keep trying. The financial and emotional impact, not to mention the wasted time, may put you off medical services in the future, but you deserve a practitioner who takes you seriously.

If you feel triggered by being weighed, you can ask them not to weigh you, or not to tell you what your weight is.

Use your community! Ask other fat people who've had success getting real medical treatment how they found their doctor and what techniques they use in medical settings to ensure they get results. Ask them how they manage their triggers in medical settings. If you are diagnosed with a chronic health condition, seek advice from others who have the same condition. Learn what works for them, and how they got diagnosed.

You are not obligated to prioritize losing weight, but if you're fat, you might have better luck with your doctors if you offer a justification for that. Yes, that sucks and no, you shouldn't have to, but if you really need answers/support unrelated to weight loss issues, try saying "I am not prioritizing weight loss at this time. The issue I came in for is impacting my life more acutely just now, and I want to focus entirely on addressing that." (Again, if they insist on adding weight loss into the conversation, or if they refuse to test until weight loss has happened and not fixed the problem, find a different doctor.

I know I don't owe anyone an explanation and I am not looking for sympathy here, so please don't think that this is the purpose of this post. I just wanted to provide some insight into why the vibes here might be a little sad/off here at the moment.

I have some stuff going on in real life that is really bumming me out, I won't dive into the particulars. Fandom is my escape from real life and should be a space that I can use for escapism, it should feel enjoyable. Yet lately, it feels the furthest thing from that.

I blocked two people that I wasn't comfortable having in my space, for reasons I won't delve into. People I'm friends with did the same. I have since learned that these two people have taken it upon themselves to "warn" people about us (I'm not quite sure what we are supposed to have done?) and a few impressionable individuals have blocked/unfollowed us as a result. I know I shouldn't care, it's only Tumblr after all, but I'm only human and it hurts to have people judge you without knowing the facts.

Engagement feels like it's fizzling a little. I get that season two is a long way off and interest is dwindling, but I feel like I have a lot of people that make requests/blow smoke up my ass, but then don't follow it through with a reblog. It slowly chips away at my confidence. It shouldn't, but it does, especially when I see those same people losing their minds over other people's work.

The rampant community labelling that's affecting me and my friends and anyone we dare to interact with. I have since learned that it takes around 10-15 reports before Tumblr will deploy the AI to scan for naughty keywords, so there is some asshole obsessively blasting our fics - or it's an organised group effort. The level of dedication and obsession is honestly a little scary and feels like stalking.

This too shall pass, etc. But if you're wondering "what the fuck is her problem?!" then all of this is what.

Bio: I am an artist, mainly focusing on traditional sketching with digital coloring. Drawing doesn't come easy to me, it's very draining and a big effort for me to actually finish a good piece. I have a love-hate relationship with art for that same reason, but I'm always proud to see the end result, even if it's not my best work. Because of this difficulty, I don't offer commissions (although if you REALLY want my art, we can talk).

To make my stance clear, however, I believe humans are humans, and everyone should have rights and easy access to basic necessities. I also don't believe we should regulate other people's bodies.

As far as engagement with your fics dwindling, I think it’s mainly a result of the ao3 tag naturally being flooded with show verse content and book writers disappearing. There’s also the increasing rhetoric among popular show writers/bloggers that continued art and fic for book Louis and Armand is inherently racist so my guess is no one wants to out themselves as someone who enjoys book fic for fear of being shunned. Which is disappointing but with a large fandom that is mainly centered around a popular show, not surprising (not that there wasn’t gatekeeping preshow but the fandom was significantly smaller). I think most fans of the show think with these new (and improved) incarnations of the characters, there’s no need for their book counterparts. And the belief that people who do still enjoy book Louis and Armand are ignorant and fundamentally don’t understand the vc characters. It sucks because it would’ve been sweet if it could all be enjoyed for the multiverse it’s become since there are fans (like myself) who enjoy both the books and the show but there does seem to be an unspoken rule that you shouldn’t still be interested in producing content for the books. However, I’ve always been a huge fan of your works (and meta/thoughts!!) and the quality of your writing and grasp on the characters is still just as compelling as ever so I selfishly hope you continue writing 🫶 I promise I’ll make an effort to drop comments! lol

Well first of all thank you!! I just want to reiterate that the point of my original post was never to fish for comments or anything, I was just curious about why the engagement was happening on here suddenly vs ao3, but I always appreciate comments, kudos, reblogs, etc, it makes me so happy to know people like my writing because I really love doing it. I have plenty more stuff planned just because I love writing fic and I love the characters, so no worries there!

That also makes a lot of sense actually as far as people wanting to send me anons instead of comment. That's a crazy take though, like the books are forty years old you can't expect them to suddenly not have fans because of a new adaptation...? And I think it's a wild take to say that the original books/fans of them don't understand the characters?? Tumblr discourse is on another level always.

Liking the show better is absolutely fine, everyone can have their own preferences in media, but I don't believe for one second that the show is "less problematic" than the books. They just found a different way to be insensitive and offensive 😭 I think Anne Rice IP is just destined to be a morally bankrupt trainwreck and we all have to accept that. No one has moral high ground here really. And in a way it really feels like people coming into OUR house and saying we suck and aren't welcome.

This might be a selfish way of looking at it too, but I didn't get called literal slurs for months because I was defending the show and diverse casting for people to act like I have a problem with black Louis or brown Armand. Myself and friends of mine were harassed (including racially and sexually) for speaking positively about the casting decisions from day one, before most of these people knew the show or IWTV existed. My issues with it only started after episode 5 and that will always be my reason for jumping ship on the show.

I really wish things could have been different too, I was hoping the show would bring new people into the fold and just generally expand the VC multiverse like the movie did except with a new take on the story, but of course everything has to degenerate into a slap fight on the internet.

So I don’t go here, but one of my friends (@aortaobservatory) is a Homestuck nerd, and qir breakdown of classpects is fascinating for character development actually. I worked with qir to tear apart Vaati, and the results I got are something I’m still thinking about.

Qir diagnosis was “Thief of Breath”. Whenever qi posts about it on qir blog I’ll probably reblog it here so everyone can witness the awesome, but specifically in the context of Vaati the “challenge” portion of the diagnosis really interests me. He’s someone fixated on freedom, specifically hoarding freedom for himself and taking it from others, without really understanding the value of it. What it means to be free isn’t as relevant to his priorities as freedom at all costs. As such, he’s fundamentally and deeply unsatisfied, and might not even register why.

So it follows that if he’s going to evolve as a person, he needs to understand the value of freedom. What he’s actually wanting out of life, what his goal truly means to him. Introspection as opposed to just reaction. Also, letting others be free and understanding why it’s important to them.

It’s such a cool analytical structure, and definitely going to impact how I write Vaati. I’m mostly writing him in what I term his “retirement arc” era, so after he starts introspecting and reevaluating some priorities in an effort to engage in mage crimes without setting off the nearest hero. I didn’t have a clear frame of reference for that until now, mostly because in canon we always see him in moments of high stress, positive or negative. We never get to see him just hanging out.

Now I’m armed with ideas and very dangerous. Time to put him through some character development.

All right!

I wasn't expecting this to motivate me enough to actually post on my Tumblr again, considering that I haven't in years.

If anything, expect a lot of miscellaneous stuff including rambles, ideas and world building. For a bit I've just been reblogging stuff.

But now I want to talk about UrbanSpook.

I like to watch the video essays about analog horror but I'm not really deep in the community? I still like Local 58 and I hope that it uploads again one day, But a lot of the series I started to watch I quickly stopped and fell behind with each new upload.

For a bit, "The Painter" series was one that I actually kept up to date with.

I'm no longer subscribed to UrbanSpook, But surprisingly it isn't for the reason that you might think.

I deal with psychosis and as a result can often fall into delusions. Currently trying to find a medication that works, but as of right now the identity of the painter is one such attachment that I made, and why I had to abstain from the series. If anything, the controversy surrounding Corey, along with the creators behavior is what keeps me from delving back into any of their social medias or platforms. But it's because of the art and the morbid curiosity that I finally watched the most recent upload featuring camera footage of the two killers.

I'm no stranger to pushing it when it comes to what I can handle and what is safe for me, and I'm well aware that if this ends up being a bad move that I can just as quickly pull the plug and stop again.

Looking on the posts under the tag #urbanspook I'm definitely seeing two opposing sides. For all I know in discussing this I could be pissing a lot of people off.

But maybe it's not that serious, so let's get into the real meat and potatoes of why I decided to post something on this account again.

I want to try and rewrite the series. I want to be careful and make sure that I don't use any past visuals created by Slug themselves, but for the most part I'll just be spitting up some ideas. It would be nice to actually try and find a way to convert this into a series complete with twists and world building but I don't know if I would be excited enough about it to put that much effort and time in.

For this idea, anything related to it is going to fall under the new tag "RuralSlug". Basically a parallel to the initial analog horror story.

This does mean that I will have to rewatch the series as it stands so far, and better understand the inconsistencies and plot holes so that I can patch things up.

Things I want to address or rework, or remove:

-contradictions in location addresses etc

-The horse incident

-Corey

-The baby deaths

-the pets

-The involvement of the police force

-The fact that the painter knows the names of every single victim

-Who are the tapes made for, given their format?

And overall, I want to build more of a plot.

Please keep in mind that this isn't really organized, as I again, genuinely don't know if I'm going to actually piece things together and put out a cohesive story somewhere.
