YOU'RE A TIM DRAKE STAN, TOO?? That guy's one of my favorite, but I think I'm leaning more towards Jason Todd as of the moment. Him and Peter-Noir have some things in common, like being forced to become an adult because of a responsibility that was given to them even though they were just kids/teens. I love all the robins though! They all have such different aspects to them that I really like. I haven't read too much of jason's robin days but from panels I've seen he looks really fun. What I think Batfam members listen to to go to sleep

Bruce- Nothing. Any sort of talking, or uneven noises will wake him up in a cold sweat because he’s paranoid like that.

Dick- Sitcoms. Friends is his favourite to fall to sleep too, but his favourite overall show is B99 because it reminds him of his fam.

Jason- nothing usually, but if he’s struggling to sleep audiobooks will knock him out. But only ones he’s read over and over. If it’s a new one he will stay up to find out what happens.

Tim- he won’t sleep until he passes out. You might think that’s too fanon, but my guy has passed out on a roller coaster in canon. He will fall asleep reviewing security footage tho.

Damian- bro was a nothing kind of person until he fell asleep while watching a movie with Jon during a sleepover. His mind starts racing before bed but putting something on to direct his thoughts helps a whole lot.

Steph and Cass- Steph was obsessed with ASMR and showed it to Cass who liked it a lot too. Steph does like the roleplays while Cass prefers ones without talking.

Duke- podcasts because most of their apps have a built in sleep timer. If he has to turn off the podcasts manually, the light from his phone wakes him up too much.

how i hc duke's relationships with the other (main) bats

bruce: mentor/friend/weird HS teacher u bond with kinda thing, i think bruce on his end still feels simmering guilt for not being there for duke when he needed him, duke feel simmering resentment towards bruce for being another adult that left him, this will boil over at some point but then they'll get over it, they will never be that dumb nuclear found family thing, i think doug and elaine would like bruce tho so maybe one of those friend of the family situations where u call someone ur not related to aunt/uncle

cass: very very good friends, would probably consider her a sister from another mister if u will, i would hesitate to call her a best friend *gestures at all of war* but i think she's up there, i really love the headcanon that there is some tension on duke's end because cass has the ability to be more efficient but she actively chooses not to, i think for a long time duke is going to be holding some unhealthy and unrealistic standards both for himself and also people around him, like everything else this causes tension then erupts before it gets resolved, cass i think would know about said tension the whole time but have no idea how to bring up the issue or how to even think about resolving it so it drags on

dick: i think duke holds a grudge for the robin war thing, and i think he fucking should iykyk, (the way he just leaves duke on a roof??? with cops????, i was shouting at my fucking comic) idk i think dick would probably make light of it for a while but duke would be real fucking clear that he remembers and won't be forgiving and forgetting any time soon, i think they're acquaintances at best but realistically, coworkers

damian: like cass Extremely good friends, found family if you will, honestly i think they got a lot of their interpersonal issues out of the way before duke becomes signal, so really its a matter of time before they actually become friends and not just acquaintances, they're old man young to me, i think they do old man things like feed birds in the park and play Go together, i think damian is probably one of the only people duke doesn't hold to his standards, he thinks damian deserves to be a kid, making damian be a kid is probably some of the only time that duke is forced to relax by proxy, therefore duke and damian's friendship is strongly encouraged by bruce who is out of his depth for what to do with both of them and throwing them at each other seems to be working (👍 parenting)

tim: i honestly don't think they know each other well, like i think they may have talked once??? so i don't have shit to base their relationship off, generally i think they're amicable if distant, like a coworker you say hi to at the coffee machine

babs: i Need them to interact, honestly it would be really funny if duke meets babs for the first time as oracle and he's just like??? you're my favorite librarian? and babs is like !! we missed you when you stopped volunteering!!! and duke has to be like yeah that was the joker, i think they would have a good relationship, they don't work together all that much cause oracle doesn't run duke's ops and duke isn't usually on the night shift but they know they can call each other in if they need. one of duke's few trusted AdultsTM

jason: i think rocky at the start, duke would definitely have some Memories of the red hood, that would probably be a hill to overcome, but i generally think that jason will eventually move into a more positive position in the city even with the shadows of all that stuff following him ofc. they are absolute Assholes to each other in a way that is clearly affection, jason will let duke get away with anything up to and including murder, duke will never let jason get away with anything, its like a typo in the group chat

steph: re same as tim, and babs practically nothing to base the relationship on BUT i think they would get on like a house on fire, like cass: sister from another mister energy, steph is giving duke the "you just found out ur dad is a supervillain" support he needs, they are the only bats successfully going to college they probably go to events on campus together, idk they have so much potential as the forgotten robins and all that, i think they should bully bruce together that would be so fun.

Ok, so I know in Dark Knights of Steel, all of the Robins met each other on the streets… but like… did they all have to? It changes their age gaps and what makes elements of their characters unique to them, so I’m going to fix it so it stays similar to canon.

First, with Dick. You can keep his circus background. You can keep the murder of his parents. Maybe an individual with magic casts a beam at his parents and they die. And Bruce sees himself in Dick that he takes him in. And Dick trains to be a knight from the moment he’s in the castle because he wants to protect the kingdom.

You can also keep Jason’s background, but him and Cass being family friends (Willis Todd having that connection with Lady Shiva) but Jason is recently orphaned and Cass is running away from David Cain. They have to steal to survive, but if they have extra, they try to help out other kids their age. They then meet Steph, who saves them from her Dad, (idk what was going on tho— he was probably trying to steal what they stole or smth) and they’re all really close. Maybe they meet Duke. Maybe they don’t. Who know

Jason steals from a Bruce who’s in disguise, and Bruce takes him in, but Jason’s like ‘wait! I have a friend’ and Bruce takes in the rest of them. (Not Steph, because Steph has parents, but she gets free training as a knight)

Tim comes from a noble family, so I would like to think they run the same circles, but they all stray to get to know each other in training.

Damian is a surprise baby. Like usual.

Honestly I think there'd be a reason for the fact the Wayne's family home is right on top of the heart of the Tunnels, but I'm not to sure which reason that is quite yet. Perhaps the original reason has been lost to time now.

Love the thought of Bruce's throat being connected to the back cavity lol. Or he just has multiple esophagus. It's not like he's in a rush to figure it out because honestly it gives him a migraine when he thinks about it too hard. A large cave that feels utterly wrong to anyone not part of their colony, if they can even find it. I am thinking something similar to Gemini Home Entertainment if anyone has watched that, with something between plant and flesh growing across the walls. Where one can't tell the difference between the two, or realize that it's already gripping onto them. The caves are already dangerous after all, nevermind the depths that It doesn't let anyone else into.

Also made me think about Jason, and like, so he doesn't die in the cryptid au, and definitely wouldn't in a world where he has a flesh puppet. But that still makes me think about how badly said puppet would be utterly maimed, right? Not to mention the explosion that would burn a lot of it too alongside whatever affect that'd have on his mind and human body. But now I am thinking of how the tunnels are everywhere under Gotham, how the bits of tendrils can reach through that ash, can meld with it, can for a cocoon of sorts. Turning a little robin into something else, letting it evolve into something new.

I am also rotating on if they'd be known to the Justice League like in the Doll au or if only Clark knows about them like in the Genesis au. Tempted for the second if only so there can be fun distinctly Not Human moments. Maybe the Justice League even getting concerned for their friend Superman because there's times he'll whistle or chirp under his breath (he might have picked up a few habits from his friends from Gotham) or literally snap his teeth if he's startled.

But oh the lil robins would probably be so adorable. Very fluffy and downy and brightly colored in a clear warning, but still unsettling. The way they move isn't right, like a jerky contortionist, but can also go too fluid or completely inhumanely still within a heartbeat. Not helped by the fact they don't need to breathe. O h, the batfam could most definitely be venomous. What with how in both Aus they use paralytics and sedatives on their claws and spikes, It could definitely include that within the secondary bodies.

depending on the kid they will either be extremely devastated (jason, cass, steph, tim, damian) or they’ll feel closer to their dad (dick, barbara, tim, duke).

just them not even registering that the JL member meant B and maybe they even go on to talk about their dad and B who was preening a bit in the back from thinking the kid got it from him just gettin all broody

It would be funny to see all of them bonding on the fact that all of their bio dads did this same thing. This would probably trigger either a very sappy feeling conversation about their respective dads, or they would turn it into jokes ("did you inherit your stupidity from him too?")

I also love jokes about the batfam where they must have inherited certain traits from B. Just hurt/comfort about them being a found family

tim- ooh. i’m conflicted bc i love other people’s regressor tim headcanons a lot but in MY head i mostly see him just being a babysitter sometimes!

kon- ooh. a flip! i think he’s already such a mom friend that it’d be pretty natural to take care of his friends. but he definitely regresses too, little kid range mostly! and i think he’d pet regress/dream to play with krypto sometimes too :D

tim and damian’s dynamic and how their development proceeds in fic is sth that really annoys me bc it’s always a “oh they secretly love each other” dynamic. but idk i don’t really think that’s the case. i believe they would eventually move past the animosity imo and have a more or less amiable dynamic (well. as amiable as it can be with damian who’s an olympic level hater lol) but i don’t think it will ever be even close to the level of trust and love either of them have with dick. and that’s fine! would they sacrifice themselves for the other? probably, but then they’d do that for anyone, even a random stranger on the street. i don’t think that’s indicative of a greater level of care lol.

as for others, i believe he idolises cass but isn’t particularly like. close to her? i think cass has a lot of sympathy for him like they share some of the same experiences but also the age gap is so large that idt cass can be completely honest w him about her problems (as with any child). he’s just her little brother, they both like each other, the majority of their hangouts consist of them playing valorant together. i do think they’d grow closer as damian become an adult though. i do hope they explore that a bit in pkj’s b&r or the new cass solo, i think they have a ton of potential.

i think he likes steph okay, she’s one of the first people he connected with in gotham, and she obv empathises w his situation a lot as well. icl i don’t particularly care for their dynamic as portrayed in steph’s batgirl solo because it’s obvious to me that the author positioned damian as some sort of misogynist so steph could make girlboss oneliners at him. doesn’t really sit right w me as it’s never a trait that morrison wrote him with, and doesn’t appear much in other books either. also steph’s not much of a fave so idrc about her lol.

w jason, i think he’s pretty neutral. he’d disagree w jason’s ideas surrounding murder, but also he wouldn’t be militantly opposed to it like cass would be.

i really liked the seeds planted of duke and damian’s rship though it sadly hasn’t been expanded much. i fear duke is in the age group where having a 13 yo tagging along on his adventures is just cringe instead of cute, but i think they’d be friendly enough.

overall tho, bruce and dick’s relationships with damian will always be my fave but i’d need a whole new post to expand on that bc this is already long enough lol

Bruce: I mean cmon he’s so punk rock and emo. MCR and Nirvana! He doesn’t have to listen to Alfred when he’s listening to this. They understand what it’s like! He is the darkness. He is vengeance. He has a dark playlist for when he broods and looks like a wet dog. (Battinson)

Dick: Pop. He likes the catchy songs but doesn’t pay attention to the lyrics. Anything fast paced bc energy! He can’t sit through slow songs unless he’s really tired or feeling down. He listens to fast pop songs to raise his mood. Catch him humming or singing the top 10 catchy songs of the year and he’ll make it stuck in your head because it’s always stuck in his. When he was younger it was songs from musicals or Disney movies.

Jason: Rock music/heavy metal- anything with drums and guitar (Metallica & Skillet are his top). Also have a hc that he plays violin and piano and loves classical bc he’s soft and who wouldn’t want to dance at a ball like in the 1800s??. Also he’s a Swiftie and has a custom made shirt that says The old Jason can’t come to the phone right now. Why? Cus he’s dead. (Steph got it for him. Bruce was not pleased).

Cass: Everything really because she hadn’t been able to listen to music really until she was adopted. Mostly going through Bowie, the Beatles and ABBA. She tries to read and learn the lyrics of the ones she especially likes the sound of. When she just wants to wind down though she enjoys watching the choreographed dances.

Duke: Pop and hip hop. Queen is his favourite. He remembers the words to pretty much all the songs. Don’t Stop Me Now is his favourite and when ever he’s told not to do something by Bruce he just says “Don’t stop me don’t stop me don’t stop me” like Freddie Mercury.

Steph: Swiftie through and through. (The whole Batfamily are pretty much). She unapologetically listens to 1D and 5SOS sometimes and teaches Cass about them. Also likes rock and songs with bass. Generally depends what mood she’s in but the songs with the good vibes (& meaningful lyrics) are what she loves most.

Tim: K-pop, any kind. Idk I just see it like that. The words sound pretty and besides he’s learning Korean anyway. Occasionally will listen to 1D for the nostalgia. There was a time he liked young Justin Bieber songs but we don’t talk about that. Sad songs too bc why not.

Damian: Tim got him into K-pop. Specifically BTS and BlackPink. Other than that he prefers to listen to ambient sounds or white noise to block out the sounds of the imbeciles in his life.

Alfred: Opera? Classical maybe. Something fancy since he’s a fancy guy. Would actually love it if he secretly likes pop or rock. He’s sick of metal tho because Master Bruce has played it for too long on repeat and too loud.

So starting with Bruce, my fav ship for him is probably batcat. I just think they're cute and she's a great character. But superbat and superwonderbat do have their appeal - again I'll say my main problem with this is I literally cannot picture a Clark who isn't in love with Lois, but polyamory fixes this for the most part in theory. In practice anytime I've read anything superbat either Clark has been gay or clois aren't together for some reason and it always low-key throws me off

As for Dick there aren't many people I don't ship him with it honestly? Certainly I can work with any ship that's even sort of mainstream. So birdflash, dickbabs, dickory, dickroy, etc. As long as it's not incest or Slade Wilson, I could conceivably go for it

For Jason I'm basically strictly JayRoy and joyfire, with the occasional jaytemis thrown in there. Idk I don't vibe with most of his canon love interests

Tim's a canon bicycle honestly but uh timkon obviously, timber, timsteph, timberkon, timpulse, timbartkon, core four as a ship, I can and have vibed with all of them in fic

We've already covered timsteph but obviously I also like stephcass!! Beyond that I honestly don't know enough about Cass or Steph to ship them with anybody else tho. Honestly I agree they already don't have powers of any sort aside from Duke so they would be non benders in the avatar world it makes sense

My thoughts on the batfam in the avatar universe with there talents

Dick: would be a chi blocker like tai Lee honestly I can see him kinda being the male version of tai Lee tho honestly that's obvious or it should be also he'd probably be one of the best chi blockers ever and one of the best at hand to hand combat

Jason: I can see Jason being similar to jet maybe not being as aggressive as jet was nor would he murder or attempt to murder innocent people like jet attempted to do but I can see Jason wielding dual weapons like jet or zuko and being a mercenary of some sort and taking justice in his own hands

Cass: I feel like she'd be similar to June if she was in the avatar universe she'd have the ability to track down targets and get money for bringing them in very skilled at what she does best of the best

Note: I don't know much about Cass aside that she was part of the league and her vocal cords got severed because of her mom also this is for fun so who cares if I'm super accurate this is just my take

Tim: I can see him being an inventer of some sort good in combat as well similar to sokka but less goofy about it very knowledgeable in a technical way would probably have created some sort of advanced technology (again I don't know or I should say remember much about tim I honestly keep forgetting about him I'm sorry I'll eventually update this when I learn more lore)

Damian: hed probably be one of the more dangerous non benders he'd be like mai he'd have deadly precision like mai quick on his feet weapon of choice would be a katana and a bunch of short blades and throwing stars like mai, honestly he'd probably know some chi blocking I feel like he definitely wouldn't give you the chance to monologue he'd just attack as quickly as possible

Bruce: okay Bruce obviously nonbender he'd probably know a bunch of techniques he'd be similar to iroh in terms of knowledge minus the spiritual aspects and the kindness portion as well he'd be similar to asamis dad hirashi sato he'd have all the advanced technology even during aangs time only he wouldn't rely only on thr technology and inventions hed also be a sword master, know how to chi block and how to counter most bending techniques remember how iroh swung those boulders with his chains with just shear strength and howw zuko smashed them with his foot yeah that would be bruce minus the fire bending, he'd also have bombs similar to sokkas stink bombs only they'd knock u out...

I'm leaving out Duke and Steph because idk much about them like I know nothing of either characters also yes I saved Bruce for last because personally I don't like him as a character or a person he's kind of a terrible parent

some of you guys just can't accept that in an avatar au all the bats (except Duke) would be non-benders
