ELABORATE ON THE 5+1 TSHOT ADVENTURES PLEAS?

!!! OKAY SO. This started because months ago I saw a post asking if you’d let your icon do your hrt for you which no I wouldn’t <3 but it got me thinking and I think that he absolutely would for Daniel, even if he doesn’t really understand it at first. Armand’s also trans in this because I say so but hrt came out centuries after he was turned, and I don’t think he would even know about it (let alone consider it an option) until he met Daniel, or if we’re going off of amc verse, until he and Louis started bar hopping in the 70s (which, coincidentally, is when they meet Daniel.)

I think that when the interview takes place Daniel hasn’t began to medically transition, maybe he’s not even sure if he wants to, but he’s socially transitioned. Moving to sf for college was the perfect opportunity to present as himself without anyone knowing otherwise. Then when he’s doing the cat and mouse game with Armand, he doesn’t really have the time to think about it more until after pompeii (which also gives an additional layer of meaning to “you are mine, beautiful boy.) Once things have settled down a bit is when he decides that he wants to go on testosterone and is also when he officially comes out to Armand.

Which brings me back to my silly little fic idea; five times that Armand assists Daniel with his t shot, and the time that Daniel helps him with his. (This is amc verse but if I ever get the idea/motivation for a t4t vc fic...)

So, idea #1: It's Daniel's first time doing his t shot and he's really nervous so Armand offers to do it for him which he agrees to, and it'd just be a very intimate moment for both of them

#2: Daniel has been stressed out of his mind and forgets to take it and just as he’s about to fall asleep Armand reminds him that he should probably do it and Daniel says he doesn’t have the energy or patience to do it so Armand does it for him

#3: Because I absolutely love Armand tormenting old maniel: “You're scheduled to have your testosterone injection tomorrow." Aka Daniel’s like. You mean the shot I’ve been giving myself every week for the past 45 years? Why are you making it seem like such a big deal?” and Armand role playing as Rashid goes “what? Don’t be silly. I’ll give it to you :)” and Daniel has to pretend like he isn’t short circuiting. While the first two are more serious this one's really funny to me because realistically there's no way that Daniel would let "Rashid" do that but he looks to Louis for help and he just smiles and gives him a thumbs up HGHG

#4: So people on t produce more blood. Armand's a vampire. Enough said. (but because I can't shut up:) Daniel bleeds a bit from the needle which gets Armand excited and they fuck nasty about it <3 (initially I was picturing dm era but it could also be in dubai??)

#5: I haven't gotten this far yet but if anyone has any ideas please tell me!!

+1: Armand decides that he wants to try t, and together they experiment to come up with something that works (again, this could be dm era or dubai, there's too many decisions)

I know that #3 is more detailed than the other ones, initially I was writing down what was essentially an outline and then decided that I needed to be way more vague but I was struggling to condense that one hghg

The secret Dungeon Meshi sauce that's getting people to eat better is that it's so non-judgmental. Was looking at refs and since Viktor has two different leg braces I was wondering, do we think he wears them simultaneously?? The refs don't perfectly line up perspective-wise so it's hard to tell but parts of the one he wears during the Hexcore scenes look like they could maybe line up with the brace that he wears over his clothes, but also some parts really don't and look like they'd be super uncomfy. Also HOW does he take these on and off. Experts weigh in

outside of the fact that everyone who has sex is murdered by the narrative, this is a surprisingly chill portrayal of female sexuality? these teen girls are horny and actively enjoying Getting It On with their boytoys. no pushy boyfriends sneaking in through their bedroom windows--these ladies are taking the initiative to sneak out and GET SOME. one of them gets laid and then immediately orders her boyfriend to get her a beer. (yes she gets Slashered soon afterward, but so does the boyfriend so honestly, gender equality.) yes the Final Girl is the only one not having sex, but she's not bullied for that, nor are her friends slut shamed except possibly by being murdered by the narrative

actually the only character who is shown being morally condemned on-screen is michael myers. specifically FOR his violent overreaction to other people's sex lives. (people he is spying on). metaphorically, the villain is American Puritanism sticking its judgy nose into other people's business.

but actually the real villain is the doctor. guy's a judgemental, shaming, pathologizing asshole. and he's been in charge of michael's care since he was SIX YEARS OLD? kid never had a chance. i'd go on a killing spree too

also the parents. where are the parents? it's halloween night and all the teenage girls are home babysitting their younger siblings? come to think of it, michael's first victim was his own older sister, whom he killed while she was babysitting him. teen girls are really shouldering a labour burden here. maybe parentification is the true villain

side note: mike commits his first murder wearing a clown costume...which is never referenced again? his 'iconic' costume is a generic mask and wig and jumpsuit, when we coulda had a Killer Clown Michael Myers??? travesty

hey i dont go here but jayce's speech about viktor in s2e9 isn't him saying 'u should never have tried to heal yourself, you were perfect the way u were x3' it was him saying that viktor's physical health never made him any less beautiful, never made him any less important, never made him any LESS, period. he wasn't saying viktor didn't need to pursue a cure for his ills like come on his motivation to invent hextech was to help people. to cure disease. viktor's first and foremost among them.

anyone else obsessed with the recurring theme in TTPD about how in each instance with the three notable muses referenced, they each made a show in their own way of stepping up to Be Someone for her, only to completely cut and run (whether physically or emotionally or both).

The first love who laid on the charm offensive, "I'm not an organ donor but I'd give you my heart if you needed it," sweeping her up in this great big first serious adult love, inspiring all of the dreams that go with it, making her feel like This Is It and the actions undertaken as a result. But then bailing at the first sign of inconvenience, leaving her distrusting of her own feelings and instincts.

The longtime partner with whom she built a foundation against all odds, the one with whom (or perhaps rather for whom) she meticulously placed those stars on the ceiling. The one who at one point painted dreamscapes on the wall and sparked her darkest nights, the one who chose her mess and said there was nothing that could stop them, the one she believed in so completely she crafted a whole life around, but then accused her of abandoning the ship when he had long since metaphorically and physically left the house on the Heath.

And then of course the final boss level, the infatuation from hell who saw all this and said "I can be the one that none of the others were" and insinuated himself into her life and her consciousness until it felt real, only to vanish after the ploy did its damage.

(Of course, it's all contrasted by a fourth party with whom the trust and dreams come freely and solidly.)

It's just a fascinating study in how patterns keep repeating themselves, not only in a person's choice of partners but in people's behaviours in general. And how so much of the album is not just about specific situations but also globally about the pitfalls of relationships and dynamics and how we choose to believe. TTPD album that you are.

I'm thinking about a Cardassian's claws, traditionally kept sharp. Blunt claws were, after all, an unwelcome vulnerability, and showed a lack of dedication to the State. Sharpened and polished claws were a status symbol, dull or dirty claws a sign of negligence, and blunted claws? They were practically demeaning. They were a sign of low status, or of frivolity, in the eyes of Cardassia.

And Garak, Obsidian Order, never once went without his claws sharp and well-polished, a symbol of his dedication to his planet.

But Garak, Exile, was a tailor - and a tailor works with fine and fragile fabrics, easily snagged.

A tailor cannot have sharp claws.

This was not a cover picked by Garak himself. He did not choose this. It was chosen for him.

Perhaps, if he weren't an exile, blunt claws would not be such a weakness. If he were on Cardassia, instead of surrounded by enemies, they would not make him feel so naked. Indeed, on Cardassia, they may even be a boon. Who, after all, would suspect a man who willingly blunts his claws of being an agent of the Obsidian Order?

But he is not on Cardassia.

He is on Deep Space Nine (not even Terok Nor, anymore!), his status as a (former) spy is practically an open secret, and he is surrounded by those who would gladly see him dead.

No, his claws are no boon.

They are simply the last insult left to him by Enabran Tain. They are a target on his back, an act of mockery.

But still, Garak obeys.

Yknow, though I don't think its completely inaccurate to call Linda a stay at home mom, she technically isn't really.

I don't think she is ever explicitly stated to be one in show first of all, but we do know she helps Lawrence out with the antique store. We see her working there. She has a job, which kinda negates the "stay at home" thing.

The antique store is often considered to be what Lawrence does for a living, and Lawrence seems to have more of an interest in antiques but it is "Flynn-Fletcher antiques" and Lawrence doesn't have the hyphenated name. It is just as much Linda's store as his by all accounts. If it is Lawrence's job it is also Linda's. Now, I don't think "mom sells antiques" is said the way "dad sells antiques" is. But we do know Linda enjoys antiques, going to antiquing events with her husband. And again, we see her running the store sometimes.

It's just that Linda is ALSO the kids primary caregiver, and since we see her mostly doing household management tasks. So we gloss over the fact she's a business owner.

Admittedly we see Linda doing a lot of non-work related things, lot of volunteer work, a lot of classes, a lot of get togethers with friends. But we do see Lawrence engaging in other activities too, if not as frequently (painting, putting together an old car for Candace, buying stars, watching favorite childhood shows). Not to mention the hobbies the pair participate in together.

I wouldn't be surprised if Linda takes a step back from the antique store during the summer months to look after the kids when they are out of school but puts in more hours during the school year. And since the show is set during the summer that's what we see. And as a business owner, she's got flexibility in her job schedule to do all the things that stay at home moms do: make dinner and snacks, drive kids places, dedicate lots of time to volunteer work, and generally just be around while her kids are home. But she does, in fact, have a job.

idk where I'm going with this exactly, but I feel Linda is more often seen as a stay at home mom rather than a working mom, even though she's kind of in between. We forget that she ALSO sells antiques for a living. Linda IS a housewife in the sense she takes care of the house and kids while Lawrence looks after the shop more. But both parents do both.

a little strange to get dms from other trans people saying they agree with biden's dumb statemet that he doesnt want minors getting gender-affirming care. if you really think its such an epidemic that 13 year olds are getting their knockers blown off by surgeons every other day, then please point me in the direction of said 13 year olds that are somehow accessing gender-affirming care that literal trans adults can't even access.

like please be fr. we literally have privatized healthcare and insurance where not even people who go through the appropriate avenues can get approved for care they need to stay alive. what makes you think a trans minor is getting phallo or vaginalplasty. feel whatever you want about 13 year olds who want gender-affirming care, but dont parrot transphobic rhetoric that is based on no facts and a moral panic. they second they legitimize barriers to care for trans minors is the second they start finding ways to do the same for trans adults. dont be a buffoon.
