One of the things that brings me sm joy is how even though Cyrus is a jerk a solid 75% of the time, whenever he’s talking about something myth related (Aquila, or the entry quests of Azteca) you can literally HEAR in the voice acting how legit passionate he is about it.

Like yea, the man clearly doesn’t have the temperament for the education field (and needs some serious post Malistaire therapy) but you can’t say he isn’t legitimately passionate about Myth, and it’s so heartwarming to see him happy about something when so much of his storylines are depressing as all hell.

BUT ALSO it would be really cool to have her as an opponent since she can conjure monsters or maybe even build up to a fight against Scylla since she was the cause of that.

It has been 1 entire year since we sold our condo near Sarasota. Best decision ever, thank G-d and all forces of this Universe that we sold when we did.

We made $50k on the sale and we only owned it for 1.5 years. The last year I have kept up with the units in our old building that were trying to sell, and they've had terrible luck. They haven't been able to sell for even close to what we sold for. I'm talking like 30-35k less than what we sold for, and not because our unit was one of the nicest in the community -- the values just tanked there.

it makes sense of course that you would not be able to then have a down payment if he doesn't agree to it (since it's a mutual expense too) but don't you have your own money to buy stuff that you want?

Yes and no. All of my money is his money and all of his money is my money. IE we share everything, even if we have it in our 'own' accounts, it's expected that it I need something (like gas in my car) and I don't get paid for 2 days, he pays for it. Or if we need groceries and he doesn't get paid until the end of the week, I buy them. If I want to buy something not in our budget, I generally ask him for permission to do so. He usually doesn't say no unless it would be an exorbitant espense (more than $50 or so). If I want something but can only be purchased online, I ask him to purchase it for me.

This works best for us because I work part time and sometimes don't get hours at all on days I'm scheduled to come in. For example I was scheduled yesterday, but since there was only one appointment, I didn't go in. We would have a slightly different arrangement if I was working full time, but I'd still ask permission to buy things. We also are not well off by any stretch of the imagination, as the only thing that keeps us above the poverty line is his works generous bonus system. So our budgeted monthly 'fun' money that doesn't go to savings is about $30.

Learning about the experiments through more gradual, impactful ways than a lore dump at gunpoint. Motomi could be the one to make Akira remember things. Giving Akira more painful memories, more reason to be afraid of his blood, more reason to feel affected by what happened- he's stuck fixing other people's traumas throughout the game and we don't get to learn enough about him. And he s weirdly well adjusted and opinionated for the character thats meant to be apathetic and cold...

Rin getting more screentime. Shiki being more than a one note villain. Giving Akira more agency instead of him just running around and stumbling upon the next plot point. Keisuke not just fucking instantly dying after surviving rein, giving Him more agency...

I don't know how i'd end the story. I d probably be biased, for example i d never have akira be with shiki at the end, but i d want to pick the one thats the most satisfying narrative-wise, and that feels like it'd be nano or keisuke.

hi! though i adore the idea of an animatronics themed zine, i worry that you might face legal action by aaron fetcher, who as we all know is notoriously protective of the rae, even with games like rockafire replay that don't even profit monentarily, or even cec corp themselves, considering they didn't hesitate to send a cease and desist letter to the person who made reel to real. this zine is a really good idea, don't get me wrong, and id love to contribute, but the two biggest franchises have people who won't hesitate to strike something like this down, aaron fetcher especially, which makes me hesitant to join or watch the project too closely. hope this doesn't come off as mean or dismissive, just from a genuine place of worry

Hi! This is something I've considered already and TL;DR I can assure you that from a legal standpoint this is completely fine. The long answer:

Aaron never actually C+D'd Replay or issued a takedown on it, I've spoken to 64th and he confirmed to me Aaron literally just yelled at him until he gave up on the game. A lot of what happened with RR is because Aaron at the time had plans to make his own sim (which ofc fell through but y'know at the time) and he didn't want anyone else overshadowing his. His general stance on fan creations seems to be anything is fine as long as there's no profit made from it– and while our zine will cost money, it's for-charity, meaning no one working on it actually makes any money from it (honestly if anything I expect to have a bit of a hole in my wallet after this lol).

As for CEC, their stance seems to be about the same as Aaron's when it comes to fan works (see Reel to Real) – and they're also kinda a big company with way more important stuff on their radar than this. Similarly goes for Disney and their animatronics. Almost anything more obscure than these don't have any copyrights on their characters anymore (even some more well known stuff like Gulliver's HLB and Hannah Banana aren't owned by Aaron).

I understand the concern completely! Part of my job as the person behind this project is to research this stuff and at the very worst case scenario, take the blame and pick up the slack if any of these entities do happen to get upset about the zine. I can't claim to know absolutely everything about copyright law, but I am quite confident we've covered our tracks here.

I know I can't singlehandedly convince you (or anyone else with this concern) to apply, but I hope I can at least quell some anxiety!

SO, i’ve realized that this has gotten so out of hand. This was supposed to be about hijinks and funny misunderstandings but now it has a PLOT. But there’s no going back now, so anyways, i made a third and final part that im gonna divide in two parts. enjoy! :>

3.1 - Showdown

Zatanna was frustrated. She had a lot of mixed feelings about her recon mission and whether the information she gathered was actually worth anything. What she did realize was that she would 100% rather deal with the esoteric and old world magical legends than occult demonology and ghosts. Constantine could keep that for himself.

Regardless of her internal conflict, she called Batman on her way to the Watchtower to keep him updated, and vice versa. However, what she didn’t expect to hear was that they were using outside help on the case now.

“His name is Danny Phantom,” Batman’s deep voice said directly into Zatanna’s ear. “He’s been hanging around Gotham for longer than I told him he should. He’s helped Superman and Flash before a couple of times, meaning he’s not wholly unfamiliar with the League. But I want you to keep am eye on him, Zatanna. There’s something… off about him. Superman will update you on the rest. If you need me tonight, contact me on my personal cel. I’ll be dealing with some… personal matters. Batman out.”

Leave it up to Batman to be as specific as vaguely possible, Zatanna thought to herself as she replayed their conversation in her head. She stepped out of the zeta tube and into the common room, thankful to find Superman waiting there. She was curious to know just what exactly Batman meant by that Phantom guy being "off".

“Zatanna,” Superman greeted at once with a polite smile. “Learn anything new from your side?”

“Actually yeah, but it’s hard to tell if it’s anything useful yet,” she stated, crossing her arms. “At first all I got were rumors about some unknown entity obsessed with technology—”

“Let me guess,” Superman interrupted. “Was his name Technus?”

Zatanna’s eyebrows went up in surprise.

“Yeah, how’d you know?”

“Phantom told us about him yesterday and immediately discarded him.”

She huffed annoyedly.

“Would’ve been nice to have that bit of insight two whole days ago. Did he tell you anything else about him?”

Superman shook his head.

“He left to do some investigating of his own. Why, did you get something from him,” he added, noticing the look on her face.

“Kind of? It’s what I mentioned earlier. I had a brief encounter with this Technus guy— I’d rather not talk about the details of it,” she quickly added, her eyes darkening in annoyance. “But during our fight, he did mention a ‘Danny’. If I remember right, he thought or hoped this ‘Danny’ would be too busy dealing with the chaos of an escaped prisoner. His favorite prisoner, Technus had said.”

Superman was in deep thought, brow furrowed and a hand on his chin.

“It’s most likely that the Danny he mentioned is the same as our Danny Phantom, and he hasn’t mentioned anything about an escaped prisoner.” He directed his gaze at Zatanna. “I’m sure Batman’s already told you, but we have our suspicions about Phantom.”

“Yeah, he mentioned something was off about Phantom but wouldn’t say what.”

The look on Superman’s face let her know she was about to find out. Mentally, she prepared herself for the absolute worst. Because with their luck, that’s usually what they got.

“He and I saw something,” he admitted, suddenly serious.

Attentive, Zatanna listened as Superman explained what they had seen regarding Phantom. A crown floating above his temple engulfed in bright green flames. A long white cape made of an animal’s hide with skulls adorning the neck of it. Entirely green eyes. And ever since he saw it, Superman couldn’t stop seeing it. At least, glimpses of it every now and then. Including Phantom with a set of canines sharper than any human’s.

Her eyes went wide.

“A crown… do you think he’s royalty?”

Zatanna admittedly didn’t know enough as she wished to about the complex hierarchies of the afterlife, but something about Superman’s description did sound familiar. She just wasn’t sure how yet. Royalty was usually the safest bet, though ‘safest’ wasn’t the best word for it. Otherworld royalty were unstable at best.

“Maybe,” Superman replied. “But he isn’t what he says he is. We think he’s more than just a ghost.”

Following the tone in his voice, she caught on to what he was trying to get to.

“You’re saying he might have a demonic nature?”

Superman’s lips were pressed into a tight line.

“Possibly. We don’t have anything concrete to back it up with. But whether he is or not, he’s hiding something dangerous and what you said just confirms it. Until we know what it is, we’d prefer if you stick close around.”

Zatanna nodded, fully understanding their suspicions. Again, the League hasn’t exactly had the best luck. She might borrow some of Constantine’s books, at least the ones he’s storing here in the Watchtower. Something about that crown was still nagging her at the back of her mind.

In the midst of the tense atmosphere, both heroes’ phones made a sharp ding. Superman pulled his out in an instant, reading it before Zatanna even took her own phone out.

But by the look on Superman’s face, she could tell it was something serious.

She saw a notification from Red Robin, reading: Gh boy at Wayne Gala. Possd B. Zat and available bats here asap. SOUPS FIND VLAD MASTERS

Dread dropped like an anchor in her stomach. Danny Phantom made his move.

Bruce smiled widely, eyes crinkling at the corners, as he greeted another of his guests. Lester and Bethany Goldman were cofounders of a new non-profit organization in Gotham aiming to help homeless people in Crime Alley. Naturally, Bruce preferred keeping a very close eye on entrepreneurs like them. Non-profits in Gotham were notorious for embezzlement and as fronts for a handful of his rogues.

He thanked them for attending his gala, hoping they’d find it a welcoming one and that he’d be honored to support their noble cause. After sending them to the open bar, Bruce set out to find Tim. It’d been a while since he heard from his son.

He found Tim next to the refreshments table (specifically the espresso machine, which Bruce had only brought in at Tim’s request) talking up the governor’s assistant Lucy Williams.

“Miss Williams,” Bruce said brightly as a way of greeting with his signature smile. “What a pleasant surprise to see you here! On your own tonight?”

“Mr. Wayne! Loving the gala, as always,” she said with a casual wink. “And unfortunately, yes. Girlfriend works tonight, so I’m all on my lonesome. Tim here, however, has been a great job so far at keeping me company.”

Tim shrugged at the compliment.

“I’m just keeping her updated with the comings and goings of Gotham’s socialites.”

Ah, Bruce thought, gossiping then.

“I’m happy to hear that! Tim’s a great conversationalist.”

“Only when I’m drinking,” Tim joked, lifting a glass of wine that held coffee instead. He turned to Lucy. “Do you mind if I talk to Bruce for a quick moment?”

Lucy pretended to mull it over.

“I suppose I can manage alone for a minute or two, if you tell me what happened between Mr. and Mrs. White.”

Time nodded like he was sealing a business deal.

“You have my word.”

After play-threatening to hold him to the promise, Tim and Bruce made their way out of the main gala room and to a secluded hallway. There, Bruce let out a long exhale, fixing his suit jacket.

“High life getting to you already?”

“Hardly,” Bruce let out. “Any updates from Oracle?”

Tim nodded.

“Yup. That lead Phantom gave you about Vlad Masters paid off. It got us the last known location of the project stole from Star Labs. Masters’ Mansion. Thing is, Flash already checked the place and couldn’t find anything. Not even the millionaire himself.”

Bruce’s eyes narrowed in thought.

“He’s on the move then.”

“Most likely. Oracle sent out an APB for all possible cities he might strike next, including Gotham. Anything from Phantom?”

Bruce turned the information over and over in his head, searching for how it all connected. How did Phantom know about Vlad Masters? What was the ghost’s relation to him?

“No, nothing,” he finally answered. “Tell Oracle to check any suspicious connections Vlad Masters might have—”

A ding sound coming from Tim’s phone interrupted him.

“Already done,” Tim said.

He took out his phone in one fluid motion. It only took him a few seconds to read out the info to Bruce. But in just that time, Bruce waited anxiously. He was getting a bad feeling. He had been all night. Something just wasn’t sitting right and he knows it had to do with Phantom’s secret and his relation to Vlad Masters. Something the half-ghost refused to be transparent about.

“Everything checked out, except for one thing.”

“And that is?”

Tim scrolled further.

He has a friendly connection to a couple who are self-proclaimed ecto-scientists. They’ve known each other since college… couple is deemed hazardous by their town in multiple reports…”

Bruce’s eyes narrowed once more. He did not like where this was headed.

“They have two kids, Jasmine and Daniel Fenton. As in—”

“Danny Fenton, as in Phantom. What else?”

“Well, guess who they designated as Danny’s godfather.”

“Vlad Masters,” Bruce said, all but dragging the name out. He definitely did not like this at all.

“Correct. They could be working together. He could be stealing the tech for the ecto-scientists.”

Or for someone else entirely. Namely, their son.

What were the chances that Phantom was in on it all along? That it was his plan to begin with, even. Getting hired by the League may have given him just the “in” he needed. And Bruce was the one who gave it to him.

The crown… that damn crown. They could be planning an invasion right under their noses. The League had to act fast.

“Call Superman and tell him to get on the search for Vlad Masters, and—” A familiar, juvenile laugh coming from the gala interrupted his train of thought. A laugh he’s heard five too many times during his patrols.

“Bruce—? Wait, where are you going?”

Tim followed after him, but even speed-walking Bruce was fast. He stopped at the ballroom entrance, spotting the source of the laugh almost immediately. Standing there at the open bar, striking up a conversation with two of Gotham’s socialites as if he were in his element, was Daniel Fenton, suit-clad and all.

Daniel Fenton, who was also Phantom and who was supposedly somewhere not even a simple cellphone could reach.

Bruce observed as the teenager threw his head back in another laugh. Clearly, Danny was not where he said he was going to be. A controlled fury surged in Bruce’s chest at the thought of being taken for a fool.

This ends tonight.

By the time Tim caught up to Bruce, he stormed off once more, this time directly towards Fenton.

Tim groaned tiredly.

“I don’t have enough coffee in me for this.”

Bruce eased his approach when he was less than fifteen seconds away, shifting instead to an elegant gait. He greeted the two socialites gracefully, like the perfect host he was, all while keeping an eye on Fenton’s reaction.

The teen didn’t know he was technically in Batman’s house, or that Bruce Wayne was Batman. But taking into consideration his previous hits, if Fenton was here tonight, then it wasn’t a stretch to say that Bruce was his intended target.

So, he watched carefully, and kept a distance he could defend himself in.

The two socialites introduced Danny to Bruce, who, after a lot of social somersaults, sent them away to meet the senator.

Bruce turned all his attention to Fenton.

“I don’t believe we’ve ever met before, Danny Fenton,” he said, leaning fully into his billionaire persona.

Looking closely, Bruce had to admit that something was… different about Fenton this time around. His ears were long, slightly tapered at the point— not so much to be glaringly obvious, but enough to be noticeable if you looked. His facial features were all sharp edges, and his teeth seemed sharper and bigger the longer he stared.

It all added to the bad feeling in his gut.

Fenton’s casual smile was borderline wild.

“Let’s just say I’m a friend of a friend. Unless you wanna get technical, then I’m more like a brother of a friend of yours.”

“Oh,” Bruce said, a bit of an edge in his voice. “And who would that friend be? I’d love to meet them.”

“My older brother, actually,” Fenton stated nonchalantly, before his voice suddenly changed, pitching deeper as he spoke. “And you’re about to make his acquaintance. In fact, I’d say you’re going to get to know each other quite well.”

Bruce quickly stepped back as Fenton’s eyes went red, but it was pointless. Fenton lunged at him in the blink of an eye. His vision went black.

Tim knew his obsession with coffee was actually an addiction. He also suspected it might get him in trouble one day, and it turns out that day (night) was today. Except it wasn’t him who got in trouble. He turned away for five minutes after Bruce speed-walked back to his gala (mid-conversation might he add!) to get another coffee and when he looked back it was just in time to see Danny Fenton, aka Danny Phantom (obviously he knew, it was in Bruce’s Hero Identities File), throw himself at Bruce and disappearing into him.

At first Tim thought maybe Danny had simply phased through Bruce, in the middle of a gala, with hundreds of witnesses.

Tim watched in mounting suspicion as Bruce(?) cleared his throat. Tim had a pretty bad feeling about this. Recording the outcome was really the most investigative thing he could do right now.

“Ladies and gentlemen, if I could please have your attention.”

The music came to a gradual stop as the guests of the gala all turned to their illustrious host. With pearly white smiles and a drink in their hand, they waited expectantly.

Bruce(?) seemed to keen at the attention.

“It brings me great joy to see you all enjoying yourself at my gala! So happy, in fact, that why should the party ever stop?”

The guests clapped roaringly, a wave of agreements and appreciations going through the crowd. Bruce���s(?) smiled widely at their reaction, eyes bright and sharp.

Tim’s gut feeling got worse. He didn’t remember Bruce(?) having that many teeth. Something was definitely off…

“Yes, yes, exactly! We’re all having so much fun, and why would we want it to end? People like us deserve a party to end all parties!”

The guests applauded louder. Tim sneaked his hand into the inner pocket of his jacket, where his second phone was. His fingers moved swiftly across the keyboard, sending a message to the first chat he could think of.

“My esteemed guests, things are about to get even more fun! I invited a few special guests tonight, personal friends of mine really, and they love a party,” Most-Definitely-Not-Bruce finished with a near growl. “So, folks—”

All the doors in the room slammed closed by an invisible force, thundering throughout a now hushed ballroom.

To NOT-Bruce’s right, the air shimmered before claws suddenly appeared in mid-air. A horrible shrieking, ripping noise echoed through the room as the claws went downwards. There was a straight line, blurry and vertigo-inducing where the claws were. Like a tear. One that began expanding to reveal a green swirling vortex. Something, many things, began pushing their way through the initial small opening. Floating, toxic green blobs of ghosts— a whole fleet of them.

“—welcome to the Eternal Party!”

What if Danny’s King Regalia always shows up in the dark? Danny can keep it invisible/unequip it, but it’s permanent in dark settings. Yet, it always shows back up in dark rooms etc.

except he has a really hard time figuring out if it is dark out or not because his vision is tinted green 100% of the time, and he has night vision anyway, so whenever the lights flickered in a room, and his crown was visible for a few seconds, and whatever hero he is with thinks they were seeing things, he just never notices

so danny’s a daylight hero, and avoids dark rooms with the JL because he thinks being a king isn’t a big deal. There are demigods and champions of magic, so what difference is a king? Or maybe he assumes they already knew or smthn, and he didn’t like the weird looks people used to give him when he left the crown visible, and the JL never seemed to care that he was (technically) ruler of infinite realms, only that he could save people, and stop world-ending threats

and, of course, they don’t actually know; cue misunderstandings.
