Hey guys. So, between bomb threats in dozens of polling locations across several swing states, burned ballot boxes, an uncounted number of absentee ballots being contested and rejected, voter purging, PA with thousands of mail in ballots that need to be re-scanned as well as Elon Musk literally paying PA citizens to vote, and the second highest record voter turnout in the past century but yet currently still 15 million less blue votes compared to the 2020 election (granted counting has not finished yet), there's been a lot of call for a recount and investigation, which I personally feel like is absolutely worth doing. So anyone who can, I direct you here to make your requests on this ASAP

One of my favorite themes Midst is exploring is what it means for a person to become an idol, a symbol. How they and the narrative deal with that is FASCINATING.

Obviously we have Lark. Clara Mire was shoved into her symbol at a very young age— she became the poster child for Caneum, the boogeyman under Trustee’s beds, the universal villain. She has spent her entire life running from that symbol, adopting an alias and jumping from place to place. But her tragedy is that in running from her symbol, she has had to partially become it. Lark is TERRIFYING, and leverages that all the time, against Fuze, Phineas, even Tzila. Lark became dangerous to run from her symbol of Dangerous.

Then we have our buddy Tripotentiary Moc Weepe. Upon his transformation, he becomes the symbol of the Trust. He literally and figuratively makes the Trust translucent to show off its diseased, rotting insides. He is the true Trust, inside and out. No wonder everyone hates him.

Jonas Spahr is forced to be this golden idol— don’t show weakness, put on a media-ready smile, not a hair out of place and it’s showtime. He groomed to be this way like one of Costigan’s plants, and she’s snipped away all of his natural humanities. He is golden and perfect at the cost of his personhood, and it’s killing him.

Contrast that against Phineas Thatch. Phineas tries to become that golden idol, Spahr tries to cull his imperfections, but it doesn’t stick. Phineas is too messy, too human, he can’t become the untouchable symbol. So he’s rejected and abandoned by his idolatristic society.

I think even Hieronymous Loxlee could count as a symbol— if Weepe is the Trust, Harry’s the Breach. Secretive, in disguise, hidden in plain sight. It’s a heavy burden to carry though, causing him to have to make decisions as a symbol rather than as a person. He needs to maintain the Breach above his own personal relationships—drop the moon on Midst if it saves the Breach, even if it dooms his loved ones and his own daughter. He can’t afford to be a person, he has to be the symbol.

But then Midst episode 15: Breach comes and says they’re just people. Lark is just an old woman. Jonas Spahr is just a man. It’s a clash of these various symbols and ideologies and inflated idols but they’re all flesh and blood that can die in an explosion. Anyways

Let’s talk about that lacy piece Bruno is wearing under his suit jacket.

What exactly is it? The JoJo’s wiki claims that Bruno is wearing a “lacy top,” like it’s a tank top he’s layering underneath his jacket. Is it really a lacy top though? I say no; it’s lingerie, and I have indisputable proof.

Let me ask you folks a question: have you ever seen it get bunched up? Like, once?

Shirts get bunched up when you wear them because the edge isn’t pulled down by anything. Bodysuits wrap around your crotch and pull the fabric taut.

There’s probably some people out there who think that the idea of Bruno wearing a one-piece lace bodysuit is weird. They may ask, “What if the fabric is stiff and his top can’t actually bunch up?”

Nope, this panel right here shows that this lace piece is capable of bunching up. That means that for the majority of the time in Golden Wind, It must be pulled taut as if it was in the shape of a bodysuit.

Okay, so now we know for sure his “lacy top” is actually a one-piece bodysuit. As for it actually being “Lingerie?” Come on guys…. what else does it look like?

I guess for this post I’m going with a logic of “not all bodysuits are lingerie but some lingerie are bodysuits” and separating the two by the fact that all these are tinted darker so you can’t really see the skin underneath. Something that's really irritating me about the Off-White doll is that when you look at the concept art, she has 0 monster features aside from her green skin. Her monster type was such an after thought, and that's why its so poorly reflected in her design. Like she's supposed to be a fish (I think) where are her scales? Where are her fins? For such an expensive doll, I expected more than just a reused face mold, and a very easily recognizable one at that.

Her concept art really looks like a pale Casta Fierce. And honestly, I would probably like her more if that was the direction they took. Instead of being completely new, lazily designed characters, they could have done something like "Casta Fierce modelling for Off-Fright" or something, and added a witchy twist to the actual Off-White look. I mean, it would still be grossly overpriced, but I guarantee she'd sell better, especially considering Casta only ever got one doll. And it would've been SO PERFECT for an October Friday the 13th release.

Blackout seesaw mv has made me insane for many reasons but

^ THIS SCENE in particular is what's getting me the most. As far as I know, the only other mv to include this feather effect is the living on the edge mv (and surprisingly enough not the tsubasa moratorium mv.)

So I went through the mv again and the image above is the best I could find that could match the blackout seesaw screenshot.

And it's like. Aira feels so much more confident in the first screenshot.. he's closer to the camera, there's less feathers, the rest of alkaloid isnt in the shot, and even his pose just feels more like he's facing the crowd head-on.

Oughf. He and the other members have grown sosoososo much and blackout seesaw makes me very emotional. Or something.

Before reading this bare in mind I am terrible at analyzing characters soo. okay also like while both Kenji and Asami could be said to be similar with the fact the both at relatively? idk Kenji’s age is, young ages inherited immense amounts of power and responsibility that also coincides with a legacy of continuing what their parents did. AND I just remembered both their mothers are dead. Anyways the difference is that Kenji eventually is able to reconnect with his father and presumably reform a positive relationship. His main? problem was his father’s distance and absence. Asami’s relationship with her father is much more rocky (I will do my best trust). She lost her mother at a young age, unlike Kenji who had his mother’s support, and no other supports really mentioned besides her father. She is in a codependent, abusive relationship and seems to also take on the form of a pseudo caretaker. (I’m not explaining this well, there’s better stuff about what I’m trying to get at) Also there’s the whole……Hiroshi tried to kill Asami. They also both struggle to deal with the responsibility at first but later adapted. Anyways meaning while they could hypothetically bond over daddy issues Kenji was eventually able to reconcile, Asami will also never have the chance due to Hiroshi being dead. Also would Asami want to rekindle their relationship? Kenji is a loser with no friends (affectionate) besides Mina. Asami making new relationships and forming a support net outside of him and establishing her personhood is important. What both of them need and ultimately how their acts culminate are different. I kinda waver back in forth but I feel when you get down to it they are very different characters. Anyways Asami getting adopted by Professor Sato (idk what his name is) and having a fun time with all the new tech.

Ok so um. I have a theory. About the Beginning and the Fall.

I was thinking about the dynamic between Crowley and Aziraphale in the season one / book beginning, on the wall of the garden of Eden could be a lead on from their Before the Beginning first meeting and um. it spiralled.

Obviously when book (at least) & s1 were written, their meeting on the garden wall was their first proper meeting (I think), but I reckon that with the developments of s2, you could say it was their first proper interaction after the Fall.

Aziraphale is nervous/awkward because the last time he saw Crowley was as angel just before the fall - either Aziraphale didn’t see Crowley’s actual Fall, or he heard about it happening and was too late and never forgave himself (but I'm sure he'll try and find out when he's archangel),  or he *did* see the fall and his memory of it was wiped. Because he had too many feelings for Crowley. And  AND IT'S PART OF THE PLAN THE FRICKEN INEFFABLE PLAN CROWLEY HAS TO BE A DEMON AND AZIRAPHALE HAS TO STAY AN ANGEL FOR THIS WHOLE THING TO WORK GODS BEEN PLANNING THIS THE WHILE TIME SHE NEEDED HIM TO BE AN ANGEL AND CROWLEY TO BE A DEMON WHAT IF.

WHAT IF AZIRAPHALE WAS GOING TO FALL WITH CROWLEY.

SEEING CROWLEY FALL WAS AWFUL FOR AZIRAPHALE AS WELL BECAUSE AZIRAPHALE KNEW CROWLEY WAS RIGHT. HE WAS A DEMON BECAUSE OF IT BUT HE WAS RIGHT - Heaven aren't always the good guys. Crowley was cast down for asking questions, never gets the answers, and Aziraphale has always doubted heaven, and he was beginning to wonder too, to, ASK QUESTIONS, HE WAS PREPARED TO FALL

WHAT IF HE WAS PREPARED TO FALL WITH CROWLEY BECAUSE HE KNEW HEAVEN WAS WRONG. And what if heaven either prevented him from witnessing Crowley’s actual Fall, or erased his memory of it because he needed to stay an angel for this whole plan to work. Ineffable. Neither of them had any say.

And that’s why their meeting on the wall has very first-meeting vibes - Crowley is still working through *remembering* what happened Before the Beginning, and the Fall and the whole Asking Questions thing - AZIRAPHALE HAD A QUESTION. ON THE WALL. IT HAD BEEN BOTHERING HIM IF GIVING AWAY THE SWORD WAS THE RIGHT THING TO DO OR NOT. CROWLEY WAS NOW FREE TO OPENly question, being a demon, and hearing him say it was a little reassuring that it wasn’t just him wondering if what he’d done was right or wrong. And Aziraphale had to ask who Crowley was because he was sure he knew him from somewhere but maybe couldn’t remember yet (he probably hadn’t quite worked out the whole looking where the furniture isn’t stuff yet). but also they act familiarly because they ARE familiar, even if they can only half remember why. And of COURSE OF COURSE THE NAME WAS BECAUSE HE ONLY KNEW HIS ANGEL NAME, NOT CRAWLY. Even though he bangs on about ‘you were an angel once’ HE KNEW THAT HE WASN'T TALKING TO THE ANGEL ANYMORE. SOMETHING HAD CHANGED AND IT HURT HIM TOO BECAUSE HE HATES CHANGE. In a way it was their first meeting - they were both different people to who they had been Before the Fall. Aziraphale loved Crowley right from the very first moments, FROM WHEN HE HELPED HIM - DOING A NICE THING FOR HIM BY HOLDING THE SCROLL - from right when ‘look at you you’re gorgeous’ and seeing angel!Crowley’s love for what he had created and wanting to protect it . Just as he was now trying to protect the first of the humans they would both come to love.

I'm still not over whatever is happening with The Sign's Special Episode... Doubly so, because it seems as if the universe just does not want me to see it 😩😩😩

My cousin invited me to go with her to the "Lost in the Jungle Fanmeet" the first time...but I had already bought tickets to "Prem's Private Space" Concert that was happening on the same day, so I couldn't go. That one's on me...fine

Now, after waiting too long for news, I've already booked a flight back home for the summer... but my flight leaves on the 29th, three days after this Encore Event...

The only thing giving me hope that the episode will eventually become available for fans who cannot attend the event is the fact that they are using The Sign's Special Episode to link to their newest GL series, Cranium [X] in an effort to establish some sort of IDF Multiverse

Sorry for the rant, I'm just frustrated...in a frustration born of my own making kind of way

I really like the idea of some kind of injury/illness being the new lifestyle change that Ryan is talking about, because honestly I have no other idea what it could be. Sidenote: I know you're not thinking he's getting a queer realization this season (honestly rn I'm not either, its just too much to cram into 3 episodes) but do you think we might get one next season?

answering these together because even though i know queer realization & feelings realization (which i believe is what the second anon is referring to) are different things i feel like they're obviously connected and my answer is kind of the same for both of them. so.

I've never been the person who's 100% sure they are going to make Buddie canonically romantic and that's still true now. (Actually the scene that made me a believer didn't happen until season 6...for some reason it was the graveyard scene, although really it was the way the show KEPT emphasizing Eddie and Buck's relationship throughout 6b. The graveyard scene just felt incredibly pointed at the end of like 3 straight episodes of grief/tenderness/flirtiness/etc).

Did getting canon confirmation of Bi Buck change my opinion? Of course. But it moved me from basically thinking there was very little chance to thinking there's maybe a 50% chance. I don't necessarily think that just because we have Bi Buck means we're definitely for sure no doubt about it getting Buddie. Do I want that? yes, obviously.

I think where I'm at now is hopeful that it is coming next season--and by "it" i mean any truly unambiguous indication that Buck and Eddie have romantic feelings for one another (whether or not they actually get together, which I think they could potentially draw out a bit longer).

Where I'm also at is that if they don't do that next season, I'm not sure it's happening at all. Confirming Buck as bi is, imo, THE biggest catalyst they have toward turning Eddie and Buck's relationship romantic. And the fact of the matter is we (and they) don't know how many seasons we're getting after season 8 so if they do want to do it, they might as well do it now (and by now I mean next season).

I believe Tim when he says that he doesn't plan storylines out super far in advance. So I do believe that he may not even know for sure whether they are going to go down that road or not.

What I also know is that he loves Buck and Eddie and their dynamic and so if nothing else I trust him and the other writers to continue writing that relationship with the care and love and nuance that made me into a Buddie shipper to begin with. I don't need them to be canonically romantically together in order to enjoy the show or enjoy the ship. Obviously, I would love it if they did and I think it would be a great storytelling choice to shake up one of the main dynamics in the cast. It would give them a lot of new material and story to explore, which, after eight seasons, they kind of desperately need, given how repetitive/dead-ended/just plain ABSURD some of the storylines have felt in recent seasons.

At the end of the day I do think Tim/the writers are going to do whatever it is they want to do, and whatever they think is right for the story. As a creator I respect that, even if I might not agree about what the right thing for the story is.
