One of the most powerful parts of Disco Elysium is how constantly and urgently it portrays that feeling of grieving a relationship.

I mean, when you go through a major breakup, essentially everything reminds you of the person you lost. It's truly incessant.

Harry, for example, links his ex, Dora, to the smell of apricots. This comes up again and again, even before the official start of the game.

When we read the ledger, we smell that apricot chewing gum. We smell her.

In speaking to other people, we hear apricots come up again and again, usually in conjunction with the idea that we've lost something.

It even pops up unexpectedly, both with Esprit de Corps (in a way that really isn’t relevant at all) and Joyce, of all people.

And, well, when we get shot, we can mention it, thinking it may very well be the last thing we ever say.

And yet, despite all our hatred of apricots, the feeling that they have betrayed us—

We also say...

Because we still love it, in some way. When it's whole.

"Do you have a rat problem?"

You were chilling in your apartmant waiting for your boyfriend Sal to come over. You called him a few minuts ago over your walkie-talkie he gave to you not too long ago.

While waiting for him, you decided to play with your two pet rats Harry and Jerry. ( don't ask why i named them that, it's the first thing that came to my mind and it rhymes.)

You took them both out of their cage and placed Jerry, the darker gre one, on your shoulder. And kept Larry in your hands as you gently stroked his tiny head.

You checked their cage in the meantime, making sure it was clean and they had all they need. When suddenly there was a knock on your front door.

Finally. That should be Sal. Even tho he literally lives in the same apartmant building as you, he somehow always takes too long to get to your apartmant.

You placed Harry on your other shoulder and went to get the door. You opend the door and there you saw your living boyfriend Sal with his usual mask on. But only this time you could see his eyes were slightly wide?

"You have rats?!"

was literally the first thing he said to you. "Yea? and your making it sound like i have a rat problem.."

for a moment he was silent while he watched the air of rats climb around your shoulders, sniffing your neck.

You moved to the side and let Sal in so you two could sit in your living room.

"These are my pet rats, how come you never noticed their cage in my bedroom?"

You asked slightly confused while filling a glass of water for him and getting some snacks out. Meanwhile, Harry and Jerry were still just chilling on your shoulders.

"I mean yea i did notice the cage.. but i thought it was for a hamster..."

You chuckle out slightly as you place the glass water on the coffee table and a bowl of some chips.

Comfortably, you sat down on the couch next to Sal. "Wanna pet them?"

you straight up asked him while holding Harry in the palm of your hands, while Jerry was climbing on top of your head.

Not gonna lie, Sal thought it was cute. How you had pet rats and how much you loved animals in general.

Sal nodded his head as he bought his hand to pet Harry.

"gently now."

You told Sal as he began to pet his little head, he seemd to enjoy it.

"Aww i think he likes you"

"Really? Well thats a realife, i don't know what i would've done if my partners pet rats didn't like me."

Sal joked as you two laughed together.

The rest of the time, Sal was playing with your two rats. For a moment it seemed as if he liked them more than you (that ain't true yall). It was cute seeing him smile and laugh without his mask. Especially while he played with your rats.

Now that you think about it.. you gotta be extra careful about them if you want to live with him... I mean gizmo, come on.

Ok ok, this is gonna be a long post... But I've been really wanting to do this for a long time! Here's my Our Life MC: Kel Jamie Last! In all 4 steps! (here I'm gonna write what I wrote uptop because I know my hand writing isn't the best/is chicken scratch) Kel 8yrs Old (Confident Fond) - Confident - "wild"/clumsey - fond of Cove, aka the "Weird New Kid" - Loves Bugs, especially pill bugs (will collect them on her hands) - 4'0'' tall - Tomboy - weird kid in class so doesn't have a lot of friends until Cove - close with Lizzie at this point Kel 13 yrs old (Nervous Crush) - has grown shy/reserved - introverted - tries to take care of others over herself - very self conscious - enjoys art - in band (plays the violin) - "EVERYTHING" grew at once over the year - 5'4'' with boobs (based this on my own experience with life and growing up.) - tall like Cove - Big crush on Cove but just acts buddy buddy (he's her best friend in the whole world! She can't ruin that!) - Good buds with Derek; thinks he very fun to hang around - finds school on the easy side/doesn't care much about it - still the weird kid at school so she mainly hangs around with Cove and sometimes Miranda Kel 18 yrs old (Nervous Crush/Love) - panromantic/demisexual - starting to come out of her shell - still very introverted tho (few friends but high quality) - still tries to take care of everyone with the tendancie to ignore her own needs - sleep issues - more of a confident artist/ exploring that route more - plays violin until she graduates high school, but stops right after - 5'4'' ; never grew more after her big growth spurt at 13! Still mad about it and blames Cove for stealing her height (jokingly) - Says she has a crush on Cove (not really outloud to anyone...), but honestly she's fallen in love with him - thinks he's out of her league (why would he like her back???) - no idea what she wants to do in life; feels very lost after high school - doesn't get along well with Baxter at first... Like Cove she finds he comes on WAY too strong Kel 23 yrs old (Relaxed Love) - "goth" era - still shy but starting to feel more like herself/stand up for herself more and just feel normal in her own skin - freelancer/artist - diagnoised with depression and adhd. Medicated but still working on those issues (thankfully Cove is always there for her) - because of that has a hard time remembering to eat (especially when she's hyperfocused on a project), and feels guilty about it, but Cove is really good at helping her out (he likes taking care of her when he can) - picked up the ukelele about a year ago just to play music again - adopted an older cat - In love with Cove and probably engaged by now, if not by the Step 4 events - lives with Cove and his fish (thankfully the cat is chill and doesn't go after them) - Still keeps in touch with Miranda, Terry and Derek. Gets a redemption arc with Baxter (they will be friends or ELSE) Height chart throughout the steps:

Does anyone think that Spirit Tracks’ kingdom of New Hyrule should be changed to something different? I personally do because by calling the kingdom “New Hyrule”, it is, one; uncreative and redundant, and two; completely disregarding the ending of The Wind Waker in saying that they should let go of the past and Hyrule is gone, that the land Tetra and Link would establish their new home would not be an old kingdom long gone, but it would be their land.

So I’ve decided to give it my own name; The Kingdom of Ferrovia (it means ‘railroad/railway’ in Italian, and it sounds and looks pretty).
