I've been trying to grow them by the fence and when I went to go check on them they were absolutely flattened," you remarked crossly, stirring the contents of the pot waaay too aggressively, proceeding to bang down a pan before noticing a certain mess and gasping.

"When I find out who they are - ooh, no, nope, don't drool on daddy, baby." The Water Pillar had never been so happy about liquid...even if it was the saliva dribbling from his son's mouth (hey, it saved him from having to come up with something to his empty threat).

As the game switched to FIFA, Felix, already nervous about his impending loss, decided to make some small talk. “Alright, Sam, since you’re apparently good at everything, how are you at FIFA?”

Sam chuckled, his voice a little smug. “Oh, I’ve got practice. Max and I play a lot between races.”

Felix paused, clearly not expecting that. “Wait. Max Verstappen plays FIFA with you?”

Jack’s jaw dropped. “Hold on, what?! Max Verstappen and FIFA? This is news. Why did we not know about this?”

Sam, casually setting up his team, replied, “Yeah, we play all the time we can. In between races, quali's and Fp's. Max is actually really good at FIFA. I think he was even one of top 100 players last year. We started playing together and then later the thing kind of got out of hand and now there are FIFA tournaments between some drivers and engineers whenever we have free time.”

The chat exploded, and Felix looked shocked.

User 190: “SAM PLAYS FIFA WITH F1 DRIVERS???”

User 191: “Is there anything Sam doesn’t do?”

User 192: “Max is in top 100 players of FIFA?? That man has waaay too much free time😂”

Felix was still processing. “Wait, wait, wait. So, you’re telling me you’ve been playing FIFA with F1 drivers in hotel rooms? Who else are we talking about here?”

Sam shrugged, setting up his lineup. “Not necessarily hotel rooms only. Lando brings his PlayStation with him most of thew times, even to the paddock, in case of long red flags or something. Carlos plays with me and Max the most. He’s good and way too proud of that. There’s always at least one driver with a console wherever we go.”

Jack was now invested. “Bro, how have you never mentioned this? You’re just casually playing FIFA with Carlos Sainz?”

Sam smirked. “Max started it. He figured it was more fun when there were more people involved. And he gets a kick out of seeing their reactions when they realize we're better than they expected when we play in teams.”

Felix was flabbergasted. “So, Max just drags you into these other drivers’ rooms, and then you two just wreck them at FIFA?”

Sam nodded, completely relaxed. “Pretty much how it started, yeah.”

Felix threw his hands up in disbelief. “This is insane. Here I am struggling to get a goal in Rocket League, and you’re out here destroying F1 drivers at FIFA.”

Jack couldn’t stop laughing. “Mate, Max is genius for this. Can you imagine him just sitting back, watching Sam annihilate Carlos and Lando? That must be hilarious.”

Sam smiled, clearly amused by the memory. “Max finds it hilarious. He just lounges back and enjoys the chaos. I think he enjoys the fact that no one expects us to be good.”

The chat was going wild:

Felix was still in disbelief, reading more comments aloud. “Someone in chat says, ‘Max should stream with you next time, Sam.’ Can you imagine that? Max and Sam, the FIFA tag team, live on stream?”

Sam raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. “That would be funny. He’d take it way too seriously if he ever joined us, though. I don’t think you’d last five minutes.”

Felix laughed, trying to picture it. “Alright, alright, I get it. Max is a pro, you’re the FIFA god. But you know what? I still want to see it happen, I’d pay to see it.” Sam just keeps quiet and smiles while Felix continues fueling the chat and Jack just eyes him but says nothing.

Felix, still recovering from the laughter, added, “Honestly, Sam, you’ve got to get Max on a live with us. That’d break the internet.”

Felix leaned forward, pointing at the camera dramatically. “Alright, chat, you heard it here first. If I ever meet him and Max ever agrees to it, we’ll get a stream with him and Sam. But until then, you’ll have to make do with me getting destroyed by Sam.”

Sam chuckled. “I’d go easy on you.”

Felix sighed. “That’s what you said earlier, but look at what happened.”

The stream continued with more banter and FIFA matches, but the highlight for the fans was clearly the revelation that Sam had been quietly dominating F1 drivers in between races. The internet couldn’t get enough of the Kjellberg brothers, Max mentions, and their unexpected bond over gaming. Fans were already demanding more Sam and Max content, and Max could do nothing but laugh at the absurdity of it all, watching from the comforts of his home in Monaco, counting down the rest of the day in the week until Sam comes and joins him.

They 100% refer back to the time Etoiles said this regularly, and similar things like it. The same can be said for Fitza but my god the extent to which these two are more than willing to kill for each other. OUGH.

Phil does not realize how much pent up stress and emotion he can vent out via sparring or hitting something really fucking hard. Etoiles is going to fix that one day.

Phil's Etoiles impression has made Etoiles attempt to learn how to mimic Phil in retaliation but he cannot for the life of him get the hang of Phil's fuckass accent. Geordies stay winning to this man's dismay

Etoiles is frustratingly yet fascinatingly hard for Phil to clock sometimes. It's difficult to gauge exactly how he's feeling or what he's thinking. And yet as inconvenient that can be sometimes, something about it is incredibly attractive to Phil at the same time. Which is funny because unpredictability is usually not something his survivalist brain would like. Something about how he trusts Etoiles and therefore his being a wildcard is not so scary,,

Various Pjo Character hc: games and Pets apparently

In honor of my snake shedding and scaring my socks off while he does so because for a solid moment I got to stare into the black void of my room and consider that a entity would chose to announce its presence by crinkling a like chip back before I realized and screamed, “it’s you” at him and grinding all day in royal high because the Dev team is setting it on fire but I still want to be a pretty princess in the game.

It is only day two of midwinter break please my marbles have already scattered,

Octavian; if he had access to the game. Would’ve played royal high. He strikes me as a dress up type of guy. Does profit trading but refuses to diamond farm. Also doesn’t like switching over to different rh like games. Again, like exclusively uses it for the dress up aspect, thinks everything looks really pretty. He has all of the stuffed animal items/stuffed animal like ones. Gets oddly heated about the game too. Like, would argue with someone about a value of an item and then leave to server hop. Yeah he’s that one I’m sorry guys. Also his dorm is so bare bones, refuses to spend a lot of diamonds on it until he can do it all at once. But Octavian likes a lot of games where he has total control of his character and everything about it. Really liked Animal Crossing, also feels like he uses the sims purely for character customization; has a bunch of mods and then just never uses them. Has all of his friends/probably the cohort as sims too. Doesn’t like rpg-rpg games that have like fighting mechanics, just feels like the sort of guy to not like video game fighting.

Octavian also had a rabbit. His family had a lot of animals (because he had a lot of family-) and he got to be the rabbit kid. His was the like toasty colored ones with the big lop ears. Sadly it was given away when he joined the legion. But he feels like a rabbit guy, it comforted him a lot.

Jason: you know the wolves life games? For a few certain amount of you I have just unlocked horrifying memories that your brain has tried to hide of emo wolves and if not then you don’t want to know. But I feel like he’d play them, they’d be the first ones once he gets on, along with like obbies. I just feel like he’s the type of guy to like a good obby. But also warrior cats ultimate edition. The first thing my man does when he enters the mortal world is get sucked into warrior cats because I feel like he’s that type of person. Also clangen. He feels like a clangen sort of guy, along with that Mario games. I also feel like he’s in a similar Octavian boat where he doesn’t like games with big fighting mechanics, just doesn’t find it that interesting or something he’s looking for in a game. He is however an open world type of guy, likes exploring.

I want to say he’s a dog guy and would’ve had a dog. But at the same time Jason feels like he’s deeply benefit from getting a cat. Cat’s are just soothing on the soul, also he just feels like the type of person to have a cat on his lap or laying on his chest. Silly little white cat for Jason Grace, or the scraggliest stray cat that was bestowed upon him by the distribution system.

Hazel: any of the like fighting games? Don’t particularly think she likes Roblox much, but if she is playing it’s either one of the games where everyone hates each other and you get to beat each other up or bee swarm simulator. Hazel either is having a de-stress day and it is through being stressed and upset at strangers in the beat ‘em up games, or by tending to her bees and being upset at other people and npcs in bee swarm simulator. Really likes other competitive games too? I don’t know she just strikes me as that type of gal to get waaay too invested in something like a Mario party. Also turn based rpg games, something’s ticks me as someone who’d like that.

Obviously she has Arion but Hazel also feels like she’d vibe with a dog, maybe a cat but I just see more dog with her. A silly little lab for the silly little lady.

Frank: does not play. I genuinely can’t think of Roblox games that are tame enough for him. Actually scratch that tycoon games. The super chill ones where no one interacts with each other and you just exist and build out your little space. He likes those. Enjoys seeing the progress he’s making in something. He’s also an animal crossing player, along with the casual tycoon games. However I’d also say he plays like CoD, just casually and he’s extremely average at it but I feel like he just, does that.

Frank feels like he’d have a really like barely a pet-pet. Like either a fish dude or he has isopods. Just strikes me as someone who can’t deal with a very like aaaaa pet. Or a ragdoll cat. Those are the options I present to you dear reader. Or an axolotl, he’d be an axolotl man.

Larry: Larry plays natural disaster survival. Larry is a menace to society. Also bloxburg, makes pretty okay builds but on a slightly different note feels like a Sims guy to me. I dunno, him and Annabeth get to be in the same boat. Also those really bad mobile games.

Larry gets a pet turtle or a bird. He also just feels like a bird guy, already joked about being a pirate I think he likes giving Camp’s eagles look overs and is happy when it’s his turn to look after them. Also just feels like a man who’d have like 50 pigeons.

Dakota!!!: I almost forgot my man. But Dakota. Dakota plays horror games, he can’t handle them but he still plays it. He is so loud when he plays too. Doors, fnaf, poppy playtime, the list goes on. I think he also sits there and is like, “oh I’m super good at them and like super brave” and it jumps cuts to him screaming because a monster is right behind him. He’s still super brave and great in battle, but he gets so jumpy once you put him in a dark area and instill paranoia. Also can’t play mafia because he screams a little too much.

Dakota is a hamster type of dude. He had a couple growing up and probably would’ve had another one if uh. Events didn’t happen (it’s literally so unfair what happened to him like aaa-). I feel like he had the really small ones.

Okay uh, that’s about it for the random headcanons I’ve spewed. These are 100% my opinions and probably don’t weigh on anything. Thank the Gods I managed to keep Bryce out of it (but if you ask me he is the opposite of Frank, plays CoD and is so annoying about it and very invested-). Anyway I’ll try and actually do something! Possibly New Rome things? Or more Camp Jupiter map, I want to finally put that one to rest. Or Dakota hc finally. We’ll see what happens.

Alright here we go... another chapter, another session of rambling. :D

I saw what you did there with the messages between Metaphor and y/n... like yesterday I said she doesn't change her approach with the messages and all of a sudden she's asking questions and using emojis. I'm shocked 😯😅

What drives me nuts about this chapter is her chat with Max. I'd LOVE to take a glimpse into their thoughts. Seriously. Like her texting with him is soo different compared to anyone else. It's like they're flirting without knowing it. When she talks about being robbed of the sweaty post race hair shots and telling him she misses him. Like there's no doubt about it and no reason for her not to say things like that.

I just keep asking myself what SHE wants Max to do... she was so irritated about her friends warning and nagging her what her dating someone could possibly mean to Max and how he'd react, she did seem bothered when none of it happened and he didn't react at all. But was it really only because she was angry about herself and her friends making it bigger than it seemingly was? Or does she want to get a reaction out of him? And if so... is it happening consciously or not?

And that gets me to the one thing that stuck out to me in between their texts... I didn't see it right away but the more I thought about how natural and easy their conversations always are, the more I picked up that there was something different this time... and I feel like it's been creeping into their messages slowly and barely recognizable, but it's there.

Like she's teasing him about the hair and writing things like he's robbing them of the post race sweaty hair and all and he questions whether she's drunk. Also his 'y/n...?' when she started how she doesn't know how to say this. You didn't give away anything that's going on inside his head after y/n told him about he dinner date with Metaphor. So where did that leave him? It just feels like he's a little more sensitive to everything that could possibly be laced with innuendo.

And like I said I wonder if she actually wants to get a reaction out of him. Is that why she's saying all those things. Is it their usual bickering? Is it their normal way of communicating? But why would he ask her if she's drunk then? It's like she pushes him a tiny little more than he's used to (maybe even unconsciously) and he hasn't yet figured out how to react, trying to navigate the streets of his own feelings and possibly very much afraid to ruin what they got. From her side it's always like 'I said what I said', she doesn't pull back whatever it was, and he's lost without an explanation how to interpret it. So he opts for the explanation of her possibly being drunk, out of mind, saying he doesn't have time for this.

It's like she's pushing for signs of him and he's fending her attempts off because he doesn't see hers, while desperately in need to get some.

Or there's always the possibility that I think waaay too much about it, but that's what you do to me with that story, that's how invested you get me. 🤣

We LOVE a ramble here!

The thing about the Elliot messages, and I guess this did not land like it did in my head because you can’t see when in the day this all happens and I should have time stamped - everyone she normally talks to is asleep. By the time she’s telling Elliot about her day all her friends in Singapore are in bed lol. I do think she’s consciously trying to give him more but also she was running low on options lol. I saw it very much like, she’d had a bit of an emotional day, and everyone she goes to for comfort wasn’t there, and then there’s Elliot asking how her day was and she suddenly appreciates his presence a little more than usual. She realised, hey here’s someone I can talk to who’s sweet and charming and takes my mind off things and most importantly he’s here.

I will tell you, because I don’t think this gives too much away, Y/N wants Max to do exactly what Max wants to do, and as far as she knows that’s what he’s doing.

Max, for his part, is a little on edge. He was waiting for her to tell him about Elliot, now he’s waiting for the next shift, the next shoe to drop. A bit of anxiety is creeping in that maybe they are on borrowed time. He sees her saying she wants to talk and his chest seizes like, what now.

I also think Max doesn’t like to be messed with. Dirty joke? Yes. Flirt? No. And he knows she knows that, so he’s a bit like, why are being like that with me, how do you want me to react? Because it’s not something he can really reciprocate. And on top of everything else, I think the poor guy was like, can this girl give a break.

Also, I did a writing exercise of what happened when Y/N came home from her date so I have headcanon of what their last in person interaction was like and just…poor Maxy is probably feeling the heat in Singapore in more ways than one lol.

OKAY SAME ANON sorry this is the third one,, but im going thru the rest of your asks and im realizing so many things.

I agree, a show SHOULD be able to stand on its own as an individual thing rather than counting on a sequel to continue its story. Now that I'm looking at the show in this lens, it is very lackluster. I still do quite love it, scratches that slice of life itch,, but mystery wise? No. I loved how ominous the "Everyday" song was. I thought it was supposed to foreshadow Armageddon (which it did, kind of) but more so it was for the Beel Gabriel reveal in the end. Aziraphale ran around looking for clues, but the annoying thing for me is he never puts it together? It was just something he does for US, the audience. It would've been good if he acknowledged all those clues in the ending, or realized it faster than us. In the end it seems so fruitless for him to investigate bc it never really did him any good? It was just for the audience to see. Also the Nina--Maggie subplot was cute, but it was also lacking? I like the point of "you cant force us together" bc theyre humans and its not that easy. But as a subplot it was waaay too ignored for it to be any relevant at all to the plot.

The thing about you mentioned abt A/C being supporting charas in the book, I agree. The good thing abt their dynamic is even with little clues and gestures we realize how good they are w/each other. The subtlety is what makes everything MORE interesting. But s2 makes it revolve around the ship, to the point where its all just filler. I dont mind filler,, but as you said, canon-compliant filler would be better. I appreciate that they're the main characters now since more screentime but I'd love it if they weren't ship-focused and still had proper interaction and dynamics with people outside of their circle (which I liked from the book + s1).

Anyways,, I still like it. But I appreciate seeing your takes since it really changed the way I view the show now. I feel more neutral about it now somewhat? I'm not invested in fandoms anymore bc of irl stuff so I don't think I would've spotted these things like you did so I really, really appreciate all your insights. Thank you. There's a lot of things to fix if s3 ever gets announced.

I think Neil mentioned that Terry brought up the "Everyday" song as a song about the Apocalypse (the book or S1), which could have been so good and ominous......instead it got used on this random Beelz x Gabe romance that came out of nowhere 😂😂 I thought the Nina x Maggie romance had potential in the beginning, but also completely fell flat/didn't go anywhere towards the end. Again, my takes are NOT trying to convince people who liked the show that they should change their opinions and NOT like the show anymore -- I'm just trying to explain why I personally didn't like it. Hello, loyal reader of your work here, I've been quiet for too long probably, considering how I eat up your carlando fics, too many thoughts and I'm shy, oops.

You sometimes invite to vent, so here I am, because of the last two chapters mostly. My brain of an artist just couldn't shut up at Carlos. If you like his art and you know he struggles financially, just commission him, commission him, commiss- argh. Commission him like Michelangelo was commissioned to do Sistine Chapel or whatever. And then there's story of my friend, that I can't stop thinking of while reading this, who dated a sex worker, and despite of not that high income as the certain character here, was ready to provide for their partner, so they wouldn't have to sell their body (said partner did not want to give it up though, so they broke up). Like!!! Commission him for stupid high price and you have a good excuse to make his life easier and maybe being able to drop sex work for survival thing! Like I get it, after the whole 'I pay you for the OF stuff' part, paying might feel icky, Lando's pride could make him refuse (he did not have this problem selling his ass to the other guy in ch 1 though and here it's about his supposedly dream work...), but- you already wanted to buy finished painting, so... goddamit, I'm getting too invested and solution oriented, adhd things ig, sorry for yelling 😅

And then there's the racing part, that I'm probably thinking too much about as well. That is for the past chapters, you made Carlos be Ferrari driver anyway, but if it's fanfiction, why not let imagination wander a bit more? Before his team affilation was mentioned and only that he's reigning wdc, I hoped that maybe in this fantasy reality he remained with RB (Merc taking Max in 2015 or 2017, so he was never in RB, CS eventually becoming their main guy after beating DR when it mattered or whatever - there's also this rally driver!Carlos thing that I can't stop thinking about, but that's waaay off topic). Not that it matters, it's just that I can't imagine Ferrari doing things right even in fanfiction, lol. I'm trying not to get too much into how you imagined Carlos getting that concussion with all the HANS, roll hops and halos, because I guess it's my problem being overly attached to details in story that is basically porn with plot and feelings, so bit of drama is a must have, especially considering how amazing your writing for that part is. I hope you don't think I'm taking away anything from where you're going with the story, just some of my own thoughts and your works give me a lot of those, in a positive way.

Okay, I think I vented all I wanted? There are some older fics of yours that I probably should have written similiar wall of text about, but that's it for now 😅

Hi anon! First, thanks for writing out your thoughts - second, happy to touch on some of these:

I totally understand the want for Carlos to commission Lando's work, and I think Carlos actually shares your exact frustration - he has the means to provide for Lando, it would be so easy. But like you said, it's a transaction-based power dynamic that neither of them want in their romantic relationship. He offered by buying the painting, in a way, and Lando's hesitance told him all he needed to know about whether he wanted his financial help.

In regards to Carlos' team, I actually never said he was a Ferrari driver! I didn't name his team at all in this fic – I didn't think it was important to the story, and allows the fic to be kind of timeless in a way.

For the concussion, there are loads of ways to get concussed, from whiplash to flying debris - the Halo's just make it more likely to be just a concussion and not d*ath. As you said, though, i'ts fiction and we love a bit of drama ;)

I try and make things as realistic as possible in my fics, bc glaring plot holes drive me up the wall - so I feel ya. I should have the next chapter posted soon, I hope you're enjoying it!

Floyd first saw the game when Idia was playing it at the game club. His club meeting ended shortly so he decided to go bother his best friend, Azul. Sadly Azul was too busy explaining something or the other to one of his club mates, so he decided to go bother little old firefly squid.

He didn’t get why people would play it at first, it was boooring~ but he gave it a shot since he was bored. None of the characters caught his eyes, but Idia said he’d like someone called Viper? Veeper? Vesper? Yeah he thinks that’s what he was called.

But in his opinion Vesper was just sooo booring. He didn’t do anything, usually leaving whenever things got too intense. Staying neutral in fights. And just being so fucking quiet all the time.

There just wasn’t anything memorable about him. He had medium green hair, light brown skin, pink eyes(one being hidden by an eye patch), wore the uniform pretty normally and just didn’t do much.

But as the game continued on he started seeing things differently. Especially when a chapter came out that vesper just couldn’t NOT help. He just had to help out. And so he started seeing more of a character.

At the beginning of the chapter he disliked the fact that vesper, out of everyone, was the main character to help them. And when he wined to Azul and Jade about it, Azul told him that Idia said “just wait, he’ll love how the character is by the end of the chapter”. So he continued to play.

And lo and behold, Vesper was actually sorta interesting. They had wits and had zero problem in causing chaos for no reason other than “He felt like it”. In one of the scenes instead of talking to a guard(don’t ask) Vesper just started causing chaos. And at the end said that it started getting boring anyways.

They spoke their mind and had no problem with the randomness. Hell the reason why they just leave when things get so interesting was BECAUSE they just didn’t wanna deal with anyone’s bullshit. And they weren’t just some chaotic teen, they actually had depth. They come from a family of four(boring) his dad is a baker and mom is a school teacher (double boring). He’s a perfectionist(still boring). They get the highest grades in the school, usually without trying(hmmm). They can fight, bake, cook, skate, use a sword(pretty cool). And the biggest thing he likes? Vesper still had so many secrets, like the fact that Vesper isn’t even their name.

After the chapter the whole “Innocent kid that doesn’t do much” act just dropped. First thing first, their eyes are shown. One pink, one purple. He was ecstatic to see this! Someone had the same eyes as him and Jade!(And Jade liked it). The let their hair down and turned out that they have bleached hair underneath!! Their uniform is worn much, much, more different. Instead of the white shirt he wore a white hoodie with a black cap and tied his blazer around his waist. Piercing on the ears and bandages around their body.

And Floyd found is so cool! And the more he learned the more invested he got. What about their siblings? What are they like? His parents? Are they actually a baker and an elementary teacher? How did they get all those scares? Why are they such a perfectionist? How come their hair is that pretty? The questions just kept coming.

One day while he was existing in his dorm room(Monstro lounge was too loud and Azul was busy) Jade came in with some desserts for him and his brother to share, and a gift? He instantly sat up and grabbed the bag. Inside he saw some merch for this game(mostly vesper and some other characters he liked, they were really cute too) and at last was a plushie of Vesper, specifically the steampunk event.

He looked at the Plush then at his brother then the plush then grinned at it then leaped at his brother, engulfing him in a hug for 5 second before letting him go and toying with his new stuff.

Jade just smiled as he got changed out of his usual clothes and sat there “reading”.

Floyd might get bored with people very easily, and might not like mysteries, But Vesper just had way too much to unpack. With every dialogue he got more invested.

He felt heard for some reason. This character just went with the flo(and sorta reminded him of both Azul and Jade with some things). He knew that if they met Vesper wouldn’t give a single shit about his moods.

He wanted to meet them, really REALLY wanted to meet them.

Maybe someone would finally get him.

Bathes with them: ngl it’s fricking precious when you catch cat dad Zenitsu bathing w/ his children — they’re curious and well behaved, calm as he gently scrubs them… except for the fourth (the fourth watches disdainfully from the edge of the tub)

Brushes their fur daily (they’re longhaired), an hr each, because, “They purr the whole time!” — which, they do, but that’s four hrs daily spent brushing cats (the fourth, surprisingly, falls asleep during brush hr)

Goes hunting, daily, so they can, “Eat fresh!”

Takes them on walks: they pitter patter behind him, tails perked, and you can’t resist smiling fondly whenever he interrupts your chores or training or whatever — he’ll hold your hand for a bit as you chat, cats weaving between your legs, head butting your calves

Refuses to let anyone else help him

He’s a #jealous cat dad

Doesn’t let anyone else feed or groom his cats

Claims it’s bc nobody else:

Would clip their nails properly, and he insists on using a specific technique (won’t show anyone the technique tho)

Would participate fully in bathtime, and he insists on a personal experience vs simply “dumping them in a bucket”

Would brush their fur for the full hr, and he insists he can tell the difference between 59 minutes of brushing and an hr of brushing

Would hunt fresh meat for every meal, and he insists on never feeding them anything dried, frozen, or preprepared

Would be able to get them to follow them for walks, and he insists that walks are crucial to their emotional and mental wellbeing

“What about when you’re sent on a mission?” you ask him quietly

He’s 47 minutes into his allotted brushing time, sitting cross legged with a cat on his lap, the remaining three sprawled nearby

“I…” he falters, freezing mid stroke, “I guess, could you take care of them?”

You smile gently, bending down to press a kiss to his forehead, “I would be honored, but… Zeni, what if we’re both sent on missions?”

Zenitsu’s eyes close as he inhales and exhales

A sheepish expression flitting across his face

“I should…” he nibbles at his bottom lip, hesitant, “I should be less possessive?”

You laugh cheerfully, poking the dent between his eyebrows, “You’ll always be overprotective cat dad… but you need to trust more people to take care of them. Perhaps Aoi? You know she’s caring and attentive to details. It’ll ease the pressure of being their primary caretaker, and… when you do have to leave, hopefully the guilt’ll feel… more manageable.”

He swallows, glancing at the ball of fur—his fast growing, beautiful, ball of fur—purring in his lap, and nods

“Thank you.”

You chuckle, twirling a bouncy tendril of his hair around your pinky, “Whatever for?”

���For handing me the kitten,” he smiles brightly, scratching under his cat’s jaw, “And for looking out for me — for looking out for them.”

Would be extremely curious and HYPED after your discovery of a box of kittens

Ofc he has positive intentions, but he’s also the embodiment of chaotic toddler energy

“Kocho-sama, could we please shelter these kittens? They’re so… tiny,” you hold out the box for her to peer into

Shinobu tries not to flinch at the three scraps of fur, noting their poor condition, “What if they eat Fugu?”

Inosuke scowls beside you, gently, protectively, taking the box from you

You interject before he ruins any chance of Shinobu agreeing, “How about until they’re healthy?”

Shaking her head, “If we shelter them until they’re healthy, then everyone’ll become attached and this’ll become their permanent residence,” Shinobu sighs resignedly, “They may stay here under the condition of: if they eat Fugu, then neither of you will be welcomed here again.”

Inosuke’s about to protest What if we’re injured? You’ll just let us die because our cats ate your dumb fish?!, so you stomp on his foot instead

Damn it [y/n] !! I’m carrying precious cargo !! his glare communicates, big toe throbbing

Shinobu claps cheerfully, flaring her haori as she spins around

“No kitty!” as he squats, cradling it in his hands, manually maneuvering it through a backflip motion

You suspect it’s bc you’re raising them, but they’re uncharacteristically unbothered by Inosuke’s usually rambunctious behavior

—Bc Ik most cats would not tolerate Master Hashibira’s antics

—Again, he means well !!

—He just reeeally wants them to complete a bamboo ramps and rings obstacle course

“Aww kitty, are you tired?” he murmurs

The cat’s curled into a shrimp shape, tail tucked under its chin

“One more backflip! I believe in you!” he exclaims, lifting the drowsy cat for another rotation

You snort as the cat yawns disinterestedly, allowing Inosuke to flip it

“[y/n]!” he grins widely

“Master Hashibira, how goes the training?” you smile playfully

“I like when you call me Master Hashibira!” he declares loudly, staring as you enter the common area

“Your student… is sleeping,” you chuckle, pointing to the now snoozing cat

Inosuke scowls good naturedly, tenderly petting its ear, “I’ll just find one of its siblings!”

“Ah,” you pat his head, knees pressing lightly into his shoulder blades

He leans back, grunting softly

“I like when I can touch your face,” you tap along the edge of his jaw

“S’because I don’t wanna scare ‘em,” he grumbles

“How noble of you, Master Hashibira,” you crouch behind him, chest warm against his back arms hanging comfortingly over his shoulders 

“I’m still God of the Mountain,” he huffs without malice, interlacing his unoccupied fingers with yours

Master Hashibira: sans signature boar head, stroking his dozing, purring cat

God of the Mountain: sans shirt as expected, stripped bare — in body and in… in something… delicately sweet, fragile as jasmine, soothing as chamomile, promising as sunflowers

Inosuke: sans bells and whistles, who lets you caress his skin, meet his gaze, and call him out on his bullshit

“My Inosuke,” you whisper into his neck

He shivers, a low groan building in his throat

His footsteps thud loudly, getting closer and closer

“DARLING! LOOK WHAT I FOUND!”

He’s holding a box, carefully, eyes alert and shining 📦🤗

“That’s… a nice box!” you’re supportive, albeit confused

“Listen!”

Silence envelops your room for a moment, and then…

“Wait,” you squeal, “Wait, wait, wait,” you rush to the box, grasping Tanjirou’s hands so you’re holding the box together

Five kittens totter in the box, muted mewls and the scraping of claws against cardboard accompanying their frail bodies

“Where?” you gasp, face flush with excitement

“Outside the mansion. I meant to go to the market, but I smelled something… odd. Turns out it was these precious bundles.”

“And Kocho-sama?” you ask sharply, eyes narrowing at the prospect of having to abandon the kittens a second time

“I’ve already received her permission to house them here,” Tanjirou smiles proudly

“Change of plans,” you grin, “My room is organized. Let’s play with kittens!”

Tanjirou is 100% a #cat parent

Not exactly a #cat dad tho, bc he happily shares parenting responsibilities w/ you

Like, if someone didn’t know any better, then they’d prob assume he’s talking about a literal child

“Darling, did you feed them this morning?” I did Tan, they’re so greedy! 😋

“[y/n], how are they doing? Have we weighed them recently?” Not recently, Tan. We could do it in an hour? “Sounds wonderful to me, darling!”

“Sweetheart, I miss them.” Oh Tan, I miss them too. “Let’s finish this mission as soon as possible?” Absolutely Tan.

“[y/n]... I can’t find one of them!” Calm, Tan. Honey, Tan, love. I’m sure they’re just getting into trouble somewhere. We can look for them, together. They’re going to be okay. “Promise?” I promise, Tan.

“Sweetheart! They broke another one of Kocho-sama’s pots.” Uh oh! Quick, grab them and we’ll run away! “Are you serious?” I am so serious Tan.

You fall into a cozy rhythm, alternating feeding, grooming, and playing

Tanjirou claims doting parent; you, the levelheaded one

It’s endearing, truly, how meticulously he cares for your kittens

Worrying about their diet — he consults experts in the nearby villages, as well as a reluctant Shinobu

Obsessing over their fur — he buys five different brushes before settling for the one that seems the least abrasive

Allowing them to sleep in your bed — they’re warmer than any blanket, and make great alarm clocks

And the sweetest most annoying part?

He consults you constantly

“Is it okay if I adjust their diets slightly, darling? Kocho-sama suggested more meat.”

You smile fondly, “Sure, Tan.”

“Sweetheart? I think their brush is wearing out. Would you mind if I bought a replacement?”

“Of course, Tan,” you press a grateful kiss to his cheek

“[y/n]? I feel like we haven’t spent quality time with them recently.”

You smooth your thumb across his furrowed brow, “We can definitely make more time for them. How about this afternoon after sparring?”

He nods, gently catching your hand, nuzzling his nose into your palm, “Thank you, darling.”

“You know Tan,” you murmur as you sit in bed together, three purr balls sprawled at your feet—additional kittens on both of your laps—as you sip tentatively on fragrant tea 🍵

“Hm, sweetheart?” he reaches, placing an affectionate hand on your thigh

—UGH imagine snuggling in bed w/ Tanjirou and KITTENS 😭

“I trust you.”

He hums in acknowledgment, faint pink dusting his ears

“You’re considerate, attentive,” your heart flutters, “You amaze me.”

A shy laugh fills your room as he ducks his head, “Darling, why’re you… saying… all of this?”

“Because I want to?” you wink cheekily, “And because…” you drift off, suddenly, timid

He squeezes your thigh, reassuringly, encouragingly

“Do you regret stumbling upon our kittens?” you ask softly

His reaction is shockingly abrupt, hands cupping your nervous expression, calloused finger pads steady as they stroke your cheekbones

“How do you mean?”

“Well, they’re a lot of work. Sometimes I wonder if… I fear that…”

You meet his eyes, raw and adoring

—Tanjirou’s totally befuddled btw

—What are you wondering?

—What are you afraid of?

—Has he not demonstrated his intentions, deeply and vulnerably?

“I fear I’m not an adequate partner. For our kittens. For-”

His forehead is firm and intimate, nudging yours, derailing your spiral

“Stop.”

His tone is… lowered, more serious than you’re accustomed to

“Please stop. Darling. Sweetheart. [y/n]. My darling, sweet [y/n].”

His eyes

Safe, infinite, enduring; tempered by hollow grey, the fragility of not knowing

“You are adequate. Brilliant. The first and only person I thought of when I stumbled upon our kittens.”

He smells the panic leaking from the fissure in your heart

A winding, puzzled symphony of Could this be enough?

“What do you see, [y/n]?” he asks quietly

He waits as you process his question, fingertips continuining their protective strokes

“I see you,” you smile slowly, “And our kittens. Our five precious bundles. I see you pacing in the middle of the night, terrified that they might not make it. I see you relieved, shimmering, joyful, as you realize they’ve made it — as you realize they’re ours. I see you with your face in their fur as they purr. Dangling the sleeves of your haori for them to play with. Pulling them onto your lap when they yawn. I see you, Tanjirou. I see you and your kindness, your generosity, your dedication. You’re brighter than all the light I could ever wish to see.”

You render him speechless with your openness

With how precisely you see him

How painful it was for you to confess

I just saw your post from a few months ago ( this one https://at.tumblr.com/a-small-tired-lonely-potato/hi-ive-seen-some-of-your-posts-about-mairuma-and/6c7a5uv63rvk) and since you said that we could ask you about your opinions of different characters I wanted to ask, what do you think of Balam ?

I only watch the anime so I'm not up to date with the manga but I really like him, he's adorable and seems like a really good teacher too !!!!

Balam Shichiro is my favorite Bird Teacher.

He is one of my favorite characters in the entire show! And I would adore sharing my thoughts on him.

(note, sorry to all for my absence, Christmas time was chaotic and my batteries were hella drained, even doing things I liked doing took waaay to much outta me, hopefully when I finish moving in my mojo will come back)

When Balam first showed up, like when we first meet him in class, I thought he'd only be a teacher with a couple odd quirks that the gremlin side of the fandom would froth at the mouth for.

I wasn't entirely wrong about that, but I was wrong about him being only that.

"I showed everyone your wings, not out of malice but it still probably sucked showing people something you might be embarrassed about, and I'm sorry, so you can see something I'm embarrassed about so we can call it even." I thought that was a very sweet gesture to give someone, because Iruma was worried about showing his back, not in the way Balam was thinking but still.

It was just such pure kindness, then we got Iruma's sudden confession after being shocked by that kindness and Balam's reaction just sealed my love for him immediately.

At first his excitement gets the best of him, I mean if I spent my whole life hearing that the study I was invested in wasn't even real and that I was crazy for spending so much time on it, only to have living, breathing, Talking Proof! I might get overexcited and almost pass out too.

And then he immediately turns on his teacher switch, realizing that Iruma was in incredible danger and had no way to defend himself if the truth came out to someone who shouldn't know and he should be keeping his humaness a SECRET and that Dumb Naive Boy just up and decided to out himself!!! For What??!? TEA!? KINDNESS!?!

And ends up chastising the boy for hours

And you know what? I'd do that too, That confession scene gave me a heart attack Iruma, what in Delkira's name were you thinking?! Thank God you stumbled upon the ONE demon who wouldn't immediately eat your dumbass.

And after that my love does nothing but grow every time we meet, he has such pure honest dad energy

I adore his vibes.

The first thing he does is make sure no one else knows so he can guarantee Iruma's safety, for no other reason then Iruma is his student and is an endangered precious species and he has a responsibility to keep the boy safe and help him grow.

He makes picture books for Iruma when he hears he's having problems with studying so he can make sure he has the knowledge to survive the demon realm, and from there on becomes Iruma's closest ally and confidant, at least in Bablys.

He can't tell any of his friends or his other teachers about him being a human, and while Grandpa Sully is sweet he can't always be there for Iruma, neither can Opera. So Balam becomes his de-facto guardian, and then also becomes someone he can talk to when he's unsure.

And while I loved him in the Walter Park Arc my favorite moment of him comes much later.

There are spoilers ahead so I'm gonna make a block in orange so you can skip if you dont wanna get spoiled for it.

So after the HeartBreaker exam Balam calls Iruma to his office to give him a full check up (He's probably become his doctor since he's the closest thing the demon realm has to a human expert now that i think about it) and after checking up on him he drops some bitter truth on our boy.

He brings up the attack by one of the teachers, and that even though two other students were attacked with one being injured, the teacher was primarily searching for and targeting Iruma.

He brings up that the teacher more likely then not, has figured out that Iruma was a human, and he gives Iruma two options going forward. Either seek out the Border Patrol to send him back home to the human realm, or stay by Sulivan's side under lock and key for the rest of his lifespan.

Iruma, when faced with two options he doesn't like, does what he usually does, and makes his own option. He decides to devote himself to getting stronger so he can stay with his friends and be safe.

Balam then admits it was a test of Iruma's conviction, and to make sure he understood the danger he was in.

And it just melted my heart, because he truly cared about Iruma at that moment, and wanted him to be safe, but also wanted him to follow the path he wants.

Other then that, his relationship with Kalego as being each other Best Tolerants (I fully believe Kalego would die before he admits to caring) gives me life, and I love how different their relationships with Opera are!

The one problem I have with Balam isn't even with Balam himself, It's with Sullivan, Because Balam's Bloodline Magic is BUZZER, A lie Detector Magic. Didn't think maybe Iruma might've wanted a warning about the One Demon who could for SURE out him?!? No heads up on that??? Thanks For Nothing you useless Grandpa.

Balam's protective nature and kind demeanor coupled with his immense power and frighting appearance reminds me of my Father, Whom every single person we meet is terrified of because he's 6 feet of pure muscle and his resting face looks like death, but he's really just a big teddy bear! Anything that reminds me of Dad is great to see in manga because usually dads in anime and manga suck so Balam gets all the love points!!

Very Dad Behavior, well done.

I love his closeness with Sabnock and Azz-Azz when he becomes their personal tutor in the Forest arc, he really shows how much he cares about his students. He just wants the best for them.

And yeah! I just adore our Bird Teacher, he's the best and can do no wrong. We stan a King.

I’m about to go into another very long Marvel rant/dissertation here— mostly for myself— that I started writing soon after the Loki Series finale so please feel free to just scroll past this, because honestly I think I kinda overdid this one. It’s jaded and overly dramatic even for me. You have been warned:

The last 4 Marvel movies/shows I’ve watched left me feeling so completely depressed and unsatisfied and hopeless about the future of popular entertainment and story telling in general, and I know I’m not the only one. The fact that fans are going into these experiences hoping for a good story and character arcs that make sense with prior characterization, and leaving feeling… empty is a very clear sign that their approach leaves a lot to be desired.

Infinite War had some valid reasons to end the way it did, because by having our heroes fall so much harder than ever before, it built up the tension and high stakes for the next film. But what does that do when Endgame leaves us feeling even worse? I wanted them to triumph and finally come together to be better. I expected there would be losses of course but not enough to negate the wins. Instead the characters were subjugated for plot, characterization was watered down, and we lost all the original Avengers besides Thor and Bruce (who was no longer even Bruce). Peter loses Tony, Thor’s previous loses are permanent, and so many other things that, in spite of loving a lot of the movie, mean I haven’t been able to stop being sad about it for literal years. And the amount of thoughtless destruction that seems to be at an all time high when it comes to character’s lives and disregard for properly exploring emotions just doesn’t leave much to be expected at this point. Far From Home was good. It was. I liked it a lot. The acting was wonderful and there were some really interesting themes they grappled with but I still walked out of the theater feeling like there was still so much detachment surrounding a lot of the decisions, a little too much thoughtlessness (that, and the gaping hole of Tony). I’m not going to talk about WandaVistion but I’ll say that I was invested until the start of episode 8, and finished episode 9 feeling drained and tired and sad.

Then we get to Loki, a show which has plagued far too many of my thoughts since I started watching it, and has crushed my hopes for ever truly being happy with a Marvel project ever again. Loki is a character who’s ostensibly felt alienated and unseen for most of his life, and that’s before finding out about his parentage. His first movie ends with his suicide attempt and subsequent fall into the void. His second takes place a year into working under Thanos and ends with him being taken away in chains (yes I know he’s the villain he’s done bad things etc. etc. but for the purposes of this I’m only focusing on his pov). Then his third involves his solitary imprisonment, his mother’s death, and his near-death (considering the likelihood that he was actually stabbed), although it does end on a lighter note with his acquisition of the throne. Then we get his redemption and reconciliation with Thor in Ragnarok, immediately followed by the utter tragedy that is the first 10 minutes of Infinite War, which I don’t think I need to explain.

So what I suppose I’m saying here (very very inadequately) is that after all of that, I can’t believe the proper story to tell in his first chance at being a main protagonist was one where he’s constantly degraded and beat up, convicted of things he didn’t actually do, given no focus on backstory or implied/established motivations, and labeled as a clown and a narcissist! His powers are weakened, he displays almost no recognizable mannerisms or competence, he’s held to a higher moral standard than every other character, shown no respect, and ultimately loses EVEN MORE. We’ve seen him lose and lose and lose and lose again. We’ve seen him die THREE TIMES, we’ve seen him redeemed TWICE. So who in their right mind thinks that the most compelling story to tell after all of that was to see him LOSE AGAIN?! And not only lose, but lose without any real triumph, dignity, or acknowledgment beforehand. Death to the author aside, reading the utter nonsense the team behind it have spread, it’s so clear that it wasn’t made in good faith. Whether in ignorance or true maliciousness, they just don’t care. They didn’t research. They didn’t try and see things from his point of view. They didn’t truly sympathize with him as a person while writing. They didn’t understand. And they truly, truly wanted him to fail.

I’m tired of feeling hopeless at the end of everything, of leaving the theater or turning off the TV wondering why I even bothered, why I even care when I’m just being strung along with as little consideration as an audience as my favorite characters. I wanted to actively see him strive to be better, not just be told he could be. I wanted to see him triumph over his demons, not forget them. I wanted to see him be the “master of magic” that every other damn movie has alluded to, and to use his powers effectively. I wanted him to be powerful. I wanted him to, if not win, then win on a personal level at least. I wanted to see him take agency in his life and PROVE EVERYONE WRONG! And, though it’s now bafflingly controversial to say, I wanted it to be told by an experienced and competent writing and directing team that knew and understood his character and were passionate about telling his story.

I would ascribe to the notion of “don’t like it, don’t watch” if I could but I care to much to not be affected by this obvious decline in quality and awareness. And I’m a relatively recent fan. I haven’t been waiting for Loki to get his moment in the sun for 10 years. I’M NEW HERE, and my heart breaks so much for fans of the original movies who have lost their love of Marvel or Loki because of the way it’s been handled. No one should fall further than they can climb up from, and I’m tired of watching loss after loss and never getting the release of gaining enough of it back. What’s the point of caring about these characters if the writers won’t? Of investing in a connecting cinematic universe if it lacks continuity? Of looking for clues and foreshadowing when there isn’t any and the only twists are random and pander to shock value? The way these pieces/characters are being created and interpreted is reductive and incompetent, and for once I’d like to watch something that feels crafted, inspiring, and gratifying to see to the end.

If some people like the Loki show we got, I have no argument against that, because my own opinion is just as subjective as theirs. Though, I’d like to think that if what I want is for the show to be better out of love for the same character, then what they enjoyed from the show can coexist in that. If anyone’s actually read up to this point, I have to admit I’ve forgotten mine. Mostly I just wanted to express my frustrations over how unfeeling and stale most entertainment, specifically from Marvel as of late, has been.

TL;DR: I care too much, waaay too much, Marvel cares too little, Disney doesn’t care at all, and I don’t know how to accept that.

Can't remember if this got asked (I'm so paranoid I'm asking questions that I've already asked before lmao) but if the Mc asked the ROs to teach them their other language who would take it rlly seriously and do proper sit down lessons, who would try that and then just forget to keep doing them, who would just teach them words and phrases them as they'd use them thru the day and would anyone just not do it? Nino and Flavio, both, the first thing they'd teach MC would be how to swear. Nino in a more sublime way, aka a full sentence or two just straight up how to demolish someone verbally, while Flavio'd opt for a handful of silly insults. Now, Nino's a terrible teacher, so MC'd be better off trying their luck elsewhere, but Flavio is (surprisingly perhaps) an excellent tutor.

Jewel would be waaay too invested. I can see her printing proper materials for MC etc. Also a good teacher material here.

Alan doesn't have the patience to teach anyone anything, but he'd tell MC random words and phrases, answering all their questions too. I wouldn't expect much engagement from him unless MC was really serious about it.

Laurent would insist that he's not qualified to teach MC (and imo he's not much of a teacher either. He's naturally very strict, but with people, he loves it's the other way around, and he gets too lenient), but if they were persistent or really just asked twice he'd give in.

Generally, Reed has lots of patience, and he'd teach MC well enough, starting from the most useful phrases. He's really drill them with grammar, though. 😂 On the other hand, a romanced Reed would find this opportunity too good to pass... teaching MC how to say allllll the best things, like 'I love you' for example 😉

I'm rewatching Peacemaker. I remember when I first watched it a friend of mine thought Vigilante was cute (as in fun and charming) and I was like "what? No!" and then I came here and everyone seems to be thinking the same thing and I was like "maybe it's me". And now I'm rewatching Peacemaker and I cannot, for the life of me, see how he is cute or charming in any way. He gives me the creeps, for real.

I want to make sure we are all in the same page before I continue with my analysis. This is the first time I'm invested in a fandom and I'm starting to understand the "Your fave is problematic" joke, but the question is not whether your fave is problematic or not. The question is: are you aware of the problems? Are you idealising the problems? I do not judge your headcanons, your fanfics or your personal fantasies, but I do worry that some of you are getting confused with this character because he is a handsome young man.

I don't see people justifying Chris Smith as much as they justify Adrian Chase. People will straight up say that Peacemaker is an asshole and a killer and then go on to say that Vigilante is so cute and our neurodivergent king, they will get mad that the team doesn't trust him.

He is a very interesting character, he is physically attractive and he is the comic relief, but like, they make sure in the first 2 chapters (I'm in the beginning of the 3rd one) to state as clearly as possible that he is a serial killer with a serious untreated mental problem. And if only it was just that (at least half the team fits this description and they do not creep me out).

First, and the thing that worries me most from what I see here, we have the obsession he has with Peacemaker. He is a stalker, he calls him compulsively, more than once a day even though he never replies (because he is in prison and has no phone). He really thinks he is his best friend and gets jealous and defensive when he says he is not (and this doesn't change, to the point that Peacemaker tells Leota at the end "don't tell Vigilante but you are my BFF" as if he was afraid of Vigilante). He follows him to the HQ, he tells him he doesn't trust his coworkers who are also there and that he wants to make sure he is ok. That in itself is bad enough.

Does a good friend check on you to make sure you are ok? Yes. Is someone a good friend if they follow you to your work, call you compulsively and get jealous that you may have another friend? No.

I cannot like this in any way. I know many so called "romantic" plots and movies use stalking and controlling behavior as something cute or seductive but here they don't dress it as that in any way. They use it to make jokes, to show pathetism in Vigilante, but never to make it cute. It is plain stalking. And Peacemaker is NOT thrilled by it, he barely accepts it and deals with it as it comes, like the rest of the things he doesn't like in his life. Again, ship them if you want, adjust what you need to make it work but don't call this behavior love (for your own sake in life, I do worry that some of you believe this is healthy or ideal).

In case this wasn't bad enough, the police mention Vigilante as a problem they have. Yes, there is a trope in superhero movies of the police dismissing the superhero because they are messing with police investigations but in this case, Economos also mentions that Vigilante is wanted because of various murder cases.

Now, VIGILANTE HIMSELF speaks of how much he likes and enjoys killing people with his own hands in gruesome detail. He says he only kills bad people but bad people, in his eyes, include people who do graffiti or who smoke joints. His moral compass is waaay off. It's barely hanging on the US law.

And he speaks about that just when Peacemaker is trying to open up and speak about how he is questioning his life choices, how he maybe has killed too many innocent people. He has just cried because he killed Rick, he mentions to Vigilante,* hoping he understands*, that his biggest motivation for killing for peace maybe was wrong and he is received by "I enjoy killing people and I know you do to". And the only thing Peacemaker can do is look at Vigilante horrified. Again: this is how Vigilante thinks he is helping his friend who is questioning his life choices. He doesn't listen and then, Vigilante tells Peacemaker what he, Vigilante, wants to believe.

When he waves in the bar, Peacemaker says "this is my friend's brother, he has mental issues" as if it is something well-known in the neighborhood, as if Peacemaker's friend had mentioned to him "we got my brother tested because there is something wrong with him". I may be reading to much into this, except Vigilante later says that he is a sociopath and that he was not affected by Peacemaker's bullying because and I quote him "I don't have emotions like people do".

People seem to reduce Vigilante to a quirky autistic boy because he misreads people's expressions and gestures. But I know enough autistic people to know that this goes beyond autism. The autistic people I know can tell if someone is crying and you wouldn't fool them saying you don't, they are actually quite empathic, make jokes, know when and how to let you be on your own and when and how to check on you. He may be autistic *too* but that is not all he is and that is not what affects him the most.

Let's get serious into potential symptoms here. I don't know if he is a sociopath, as he says or it is something else, I'm not an expert, but:

he is way too naive (he believes crying is actually facial training, even in a context when that is impossible), so naive that he is very easy to manipulate (as we see when Leota manipulates him to kill Peacemaker's father).

He follows blindly his own ideals, and he seems to change them to fit his needs or desires ("3 years ago I would have killed you for that" he tells Chris and Amber for smoking joints after the threesome)

He is very friendly but he doesn't measure when to say or do certain things to show support or to shut up.

When they speak about "funny nicknames" that Peacemaker used to give, he knows Peacemaker is a bully but cannot see what is wrong with it. Sure, people were pissed off but how is that even a problem, Chris is like that. He knows the theory, maybe for some things somebody has told them explicitly but if that is not the case, he is always off.

He isn't even good at copying people's behavior or manipulating people to get what he wants. Some people with poor social skills or difficulty with interpersonal connection are excellent at copying people and manipulating them.

And then is the obsession with Peacemaker. That is probably his biggest drive, probably what's behind his justifications to kill people, to be with his friend, to be like him, to be worthy of him. Of the idea of him that he has, because Peacemaker tries to be different and Adrian doesn't really follow. Again, let's remember the conversation when Peacemaker is doubting his life choices.

So yeah, the first time I watched Peacemaker I was creeped out by VIgilante but he is a fun character and I enjoyed him as the co-protagonist and comic relief. He is a good counterpart for Leota. But now that I know soooo many people dig him and seem to think he is misunderstood, not only I'm creeped out, I'm also really worried about you guys.

Please, tell me you are aware of all this and that what I see here on Tumblr is an oversimplification for the fun of it, a headcanon or an AU. If you really think Vigilante is misunderstood and that he is just a cute autistic boy, if you really don't see anything wrong with him, be careful with the people you deal with in real life. Please.
