call me brutus, michael or canidae, my pronouns are it/its. welcome to my fandom blog! (tho i treat it as my main atp)

the main focus of this blog is, and always will be, spiderverse, as that was the focus when i created it (also it's my special interest). but, gradually, i just started reblogging more and more stuff from different fandoms, so now we're here.

this blog is strictly 18+. i post/reblog nsfw, and i do not tag it.

i also more often than not forget to tag f slur and t slur usage, so

i have, among other things, narcissistic personality disorder, so i will refer to myself/my ocs as narcissists, as personally i don't find it derogatory if it's somebody with the disorder using it.

likes and follows come from @canidaegutz, however i just treat it as my reblog dump, i don't do anything with that blog. thumbs up emoji (i'm on pc i don't know how to add emojis)

TAGGING SYSTEM:

SPIDERVERSE: i do not tag the franchise, or any of the movies. i tag the individual characters by names, not spider-names (so margo kess, and not spiderbyte). i don't reblog a lot of ship content, but i only use one name per ship, the ones off the top of my head are spiderdads, ghostflower and prowlerbyte. for any character's comic related content, i tag (character name) comics, for example, miguel o'hara comics. for miguel, since he's my favorite :3, i also have the tag comic miguel, to refer to the variants of him from the comics. for a non-specific, classic spiderman, i use the tag peter parker.

ART AND THE LIKE: fanart is my general art tag. original art also goes there, even if it's not really fanart - i just started tagging it as such and now it's too late to back up. crafts is for sculptures, plushies, etc. if i post any of my art here, it'll be tagged with my art/my writing. animation is for... well, that. i tag any writing about characters as fanfic, even if it's just blurbs. i tag smut and fluff, but really nothing else. x reader fanfics are tagged with (character name) x reader. reader is tagged with afab!reader, amab!reader, f!reader, m!reader or gn!reader depending on the contents. writing is a tag for writing tips/resources/etc, drawing is the same for, well, drawing.

HERMITCRAFT/LIFE SERIES: i do use the general tags hermitcraft/the life series, however i do not differentiate by season. i tag creators by their usernames, and while i do differentiate c! and cc!, i do not tag that separately. i also use the hermitcraft tag to generally tag anything related to that group of people.

CALL OF DUTY: i don't like the military i'm just here for the gay guys. i use a general cod tag, and then i tag the four main 141 boys by name and callsign, for example john soap mactavish, otherwise i don't tag characters. i tag ghost x soap as ghoap

MISC: hatsune miku, mouthwashing, and any other fandoms that aren't included in the above list i tag just by name, and i don't include characters' names. deadpool and wolverine are tagged as dp&w. firefox is anything internet/browser related. "(oc name) [oc]" are my oc tags.

many things about the chronicles of Narnia made me irrevocably insane at the small age of six years old but one of the big ones was the bit in prince Caspian where caspian blows susan's horn to try and summon help and it summons the pevensie kids like. that's crazy ok. that's insane. imagine at 12 years old you're given a horn thats purpose is basically summoning divine intervention & then years later someone blows it and summons YOU . I'm crazy !

As a reminder that good exists out there, a coworker recently confessed to me that he found out his child is questioning their identity (kid's gender redacted for this post). The kid is keeping it from him, so he can't say anything to them or show that he knows, but he's doing his best to get mentally prepared and educated so that he'll be ready whenever his kid does feel comfortable enough come to him.

For context, this guy is a big, bulky middle aged dude who loves sports and typical outdoor "manly" activities. As his coworker and friend, I know he's a kind and sweet teddy bear of a person, but his kid probably views him as a stern, authoritarian figure, the way most teenagers view their parents. His family lives in a conservative area, so I'm sure between that, their dad's looks and interests, and the fact that their dad is a Figure of Authority, the kid is worried that they won't be accepted.

But you know what? When he found out about his kid, the first thing he did was reach out to his closest queer friend and ask for resources for parents of questioning children. His biggest fears are that his kid will be bullied or discriminated against and won't feel comfortable enough to be themself. His second action was to find himself a mentor in another parent who went the same situation (kid coming out in a conservative town). The other person is preparing him for some of the struggles his kid may face and the fights he may need to take on as a parent to make sure his kid is safe and treated well.

Something I want to emphasize for people focused on language as the primary method of allyship is that when we spoke, he used some outdated terms and thoughts about gender and sexuality. That does not make him bad. These were the terms and thinking used about questioning teenagers when he was growing up and he never needed to learn more current ones. But now that he does have that need, he's throwing himself in head first because that's his kid and he's darn well going to make sure that his kid feels welcomed and has a safe place to be themselves even if they never come out to him.
