Okay, you know that hc where Tim Reincarnates as The Trash of the Bat Family? It got me thinking of him scamming and making the "Real League of Assassins". He integrates Pru, Z and Owens early, makes them his people (or assassins disguised as servants).
"Where's the coffee?"
Owens, pouring chamomile tea, "We're all out of coffee, Sir."
"Energy drinks?"
Pru, throwing a trash bag away. "All gone too, Sir."
He integrates Kon before he experiences the SA with Tana Moon and other ladies, and Kon becomes his bodyguard.
"Are we doing something bad?"
"Oh, we're doing something veeeeery bad. To Lex Luthor."
Tim rescuing Damian.
"You're Damian Al Ghul Wayne. You're an Al Ghul and a Wayne. You can do whatever you want. I'm not taking care of you."
Damian, not trusting this lying bastard, secretly follows him around. Tim knows Damian is, and begrudgingly just accepts Damian into his fold until he reaches Gotham again.
"If you die, Timothy, I will dominate the world, kill everyone, and then myself."
I love these additions so much!!!
The "Real League of Assassins" is such a petty name, and I live for it. Just Tim as a kid and his little League of Assassins (depending on how far back he went into the past and how soon he aquires the OG best assassin squad). It would be double hilarious if his "Real League of Assassins" doesn't actually kill anyone, but I also respect Tim's right to commit murder however he deems fit. I like to imagine how mad Ra's would get at the name.
Part of Tim's asshole cover comes from Pru. There's two ways this can go. One, Pru is her complete self in front of everyone (she will break someone's nose no matter their price tag). This causes major scandals and issues for Tim cause how could he hire someone who behaves like that? Or Two, Pru is creepily pleasant and respectful around other company, and Tim continues to act like usual around her. This causes people to pity Pru for having such a horrible boss.
I also live for Bodyguard Kon AUs. You know the two of them are playing a "I know your sickly Victorian child looking ass can beat me up, but I will pretend I don't know this until you tell me why" with a "please stop saving me from every small things because I know you know a sunburn isn't going to kill me." It's dealer's choice on how soon Kon finds out about Tim's vigilante gig. Also, if Kon is a bodyguard in this, is he also Superboy or the equivalent? Does he become a superhero once he finds out about Tim's heroism? There's no way Kon would stick around Tim if he believed the persona Tim kept up.
Cue Tim accidentally forming the YJ again, but this time it's hidden from the JL radars and is a closely guarded secret.
As far as Damian, I absolutely love that quote you included. It's so Damian coded and I live for him threatening to take over the world. I also want to see Tim's reaction and how concerned he is over Damian threatening to kill himself. As an older brother, he legit could care less about Damian managing to kill the entire world. It's Damian wanting to die that scares him.
As far as the AU, Tim is trying so hard to distance himself from the Waynes that his dumbass shouldn't have picked up Damian in person. He was probably too anxious to leave it to someone else, but now he has a tiny suspicious assassin who reluctantly became fond of him.
There's a few different ways this can play out.
One, Tim picks up Damian in his vigilante costume and never unmasks to Damian. The little tot starts to think of this vigilante as maybe a brother before being given to Bruce (angst of abandonment tied with identity shenanigans. How soon does Damian realize that Timothy "Trash" Drake is the one to save him from the League?).
Two, Tim starts off with his secret identity in tact but reveals himself while traveling back. They bond, Damian is left at Bruce's, and, to the surprise of literally all the Waynes, the kid is seen constantly talking to the complete jerk Timothy Drake. Damian is actually nicer to this douchebag stranger than he is to some of his family members. What's equally shocking is how kind Tim is to Damian. Tim hasn't been cruel to children before, but he hasn't gone out of his way to be nice either. This cues investigations into Tim by the batfam.
Three, Damian refuses to go live with his dad and sticks around Tim when they return to Gotham. Depending on when Tim rescues Damian, Tim's fake uncle adopts Damian, and they become brothers legally. When Bruce finds out Damian is his son, he doesn't take the excuse, "I found him on the streets!" from Tim seriously.

So Much for Slow
Fandom: Smallville
Rating: E
Pairing: Clex
Word Count: 1056
Warnings: smut, pwp, kinktober ficlet, est. relationship, 69, oral, deep-throating, anal play
Summary: Clark wants to move things along in their new relationship.
A/N: Written for Kinktober. I tried to get more done for the month, but I just don't think it's gonna happen.
Tumblr media
“I've told you before, Clark, you don't need to feel obligated to reciprocate.”
“I know, but, well, it just feels so good when you do it. I wanna make you feel good, too.”
“Trust me, Clark, everything you do makes me feel very good.”
“Please? Just, I don't know, guide me through it?”
Lex looked up at those wide, green eyes, and couldn't deny his new lover. Especially not when he was unwittingly asking him to play out one of his favorite fantasies, one that had played out in his mind a couple hundred times over the last four years.
“Alright, since you asked so nicely. Slide over, and turn on your side.”
Lex undressed as Clark kicked off his pants and got into the directed position. Climbing on the bed, Lex stretched out alongside Clark, head to toe, shuddering slightly at the puff of warm breath that ghosted along his hard cock. His cock that was finally about to be sucked by the mouth he had dreamed about for years.
“We'll take this slow, Clark. I don't expect you to be able to deep-throat me on your first try, so don't let it embarrass you if you can't. Just do what I do, and watch out for teeth. You may be invulnerable, but I most certainly am not.”
“Uh-huh.”
Lex smirked at Clark's loquacious vocabulary, and leaned his head forward to nose around the base of Clark's cock, one hand reaching down to trail gentle fingers over the brunette's heavy sac, the other curled over his hip to brace against. Clark whimpered and moved to mimic the motions, the first touch of hot skin on his causing Lex's eyes to flutter.
Skimming a teasing path along the long shaft, Lex flicked his tongue out over the plummy head, lapping up the drop of fluid gathered there. It took all his restraint not to buck forward into Clark's mouth as he did the same.
“That's it, baby. Told you, you would make me feel good. Now, take me in your mouth, Clark.”
Clark did as instructed, the warm cavern of his mouth enclosing around Lex's girth, tongue still swiping gently over the head. Lex followed suit, muffling a groan of pleasure as he slid his lips over Clark's cock. He tried to concentrate on blowing Clark, but the feel of his cock surrounded by the perfect heat of Clark's wet mouth left him speeding towards orgasm embarrassingly quickly. The reality of it, so much better than any fantasy he'd ever conjured of it, because it was real, because it was Clark.
Clark was moaning around him now, his own hips finding no qualms about thrusting deeper, down Lex's lax throat, knowing from experience how much the older man could handle. The taste of Lex on his tongue sparked arousal down his spine, making his cock throb in pleasure. He wanted to make Lex feel like this, wanted to taste his cum as it slid down his throat. Relaxing his throat, he slowly slid down the length of Lex's cock, swallowing instinctively when he felt the head press against the back of his throat. And, swallowing again when he heard the dampened yelp of pleasure it elicited from Lex. Pawing at Lex's hip, he urged him into movement, wanting to feel the thrusts, to feel used.
Lex suckled harder at the cock filling his mouth, fingers trailing behind Clark's balls to rub lightly at the perineum. He gave in to Clark's obvious request for movement, thrusting slowly at first so Clark could adjust. God, if this was what sixty-nine was like between them, he wasn't sure how much longer he could wait before they moved up to actual penetrative sex.
Sliding his finger along the smooth strip of skin, his calculations adjusted as Clark's legs spread slightly wider to allow better access. Maybe they wouldn't have to wait much longer, at all. Not if the moans of pleasure coming from the younger man, as Lex circled the pad of his forefinger around the puckered furl of muscle, were anything to go by.
Not long at all, considering how quickly Clark came as the tip of Lex's finger pressed into him, Lex's throat contracting around the pulsing cock in desperate swallows to not lose a drop of the thick substance he was quickly becoming addicted to.
The feel of Lex’s finger easing into him, aided by only the scant dribble of saliva that had slid down his cock, over his balls, and down between his cheeks, had him coming in record time. Clark barely kept control of his strength as he forced himself still, not wanting to cause irreparable damage to either the throat he was thrust down, or the cock spearing into his own. The feeling of being filled, both throat and ass, made him question his own sanity on why he had ever wanted to take this slow.
Coming back into focus, Clark tightened his grip on Lex’s hip, letting instinct take over again, mouth sliding up and down the thick cock. Lex's mouth was still on him, tongue licking up along the shaft as it tried, in vain, to soften. That finger was still there, barely moving, still wonderful, as he relaxed into its foreign touch.
Lex lost the fight as the slightest graze of teeth scraped the head of his cock, the added thrill of muted pain triggering his climax. Stiffening against Clark's hard body, he let his release flood that perfect mouth, pleased at the moan Clark made as he swallowed him down.
Minutes passed in a haze of hormones, breathless panting the only sound filling the bedroom as both men came down from their mutual high. Letting Clark's still-hard cock slip from his mouth, Lex eased his finger gently from the snug grip of Clark’s ass. His own cock was released, pitiably, and he found himself quickly manhandled right-way-up, head hitting the pillow before he could blink.
Clark captured his mouth in a deep kiss, their tastes mingled as tongues twined in a sloppy, passionate dance. His arms wrapped around Lex, pulling him into a tight embrace.
“Thank you.”
Dumbfounded, and a little cum-drunk, Lex accepted the gratitude unthinkingly.
“I told you, Clark, I'd do anything for my friends.”
“Well, in that case, maybe there's another favor you could do for me?”

Batfamily Introduction- Matt Reeves universe
So...this is how I'd go about assembling the Batfamily in Reeves verse. I have (at least the movies about Jason) completely developed in my brain, but well, writing the scripts is a whole other issue. I could, but 2k fics are too much for me at the moment, so I thought I'd share this with the world, free some space in my brain, so to speak. Praying that someone out there, that has the actual pull to make this happen, reads this and maybe uses it a little. Mainly about Jason, because my poor boy deserves better, and an live action portrayal that is accurate and true to character, instead of the constant angst trainreck that is his life in the comics, for some reason.
The more detailed an idea is, the more doubts I have about it, idk. Dick's is less developed since pretty much everyone is familiar with him, so I kinda skipped him, sorry. And Damian...well, I don't know enough about him to write him much more than he is, and tbh, I'd like to do something with him and Jon more than anything else.
Here it goes!!! (Also, I'm just a fan, so please don't hate on this, yeah? If you don't like it, move on.)
Batman: Gravity / Gravitas/ Gravitational Pull
(Dick's origin story as Robin movie, Zucco,  Selina helps, Ace shows up, Zucco almost dies but D!R decides not to, little scenes with Batgirl (?),etc)
•Robin the first*: Dick's solo movie when he's older, establishing the Titans (Babs, Roy, Donna, Joey(?)), Deathstroke as antagonist(?). He ends the movie as Nightwing (?).
Batman: Mind Games
(Jason as Robin origin story, Jason steals the Batmobile tires, B sends him to a home. Mad Hatter/ Dollmaker is buying kids from Ma Gunn's and Jay helps B & Gordon realize this and to put a stop to it, B ends up kidnapped and Nightwing isn't answering Agent A and Batgirl is holed up in the precinct with Gordon; so Jay dresses up as Robin and goes to try and stop the freak. He trips the rogue with his marbles and knocks him out, waiting until Batgirl/Nightwing come to free the hostages from the tech, keeping the conscious kids calm. Dick is surprised about Jay but not a dick about it. Bruce offers to adopt Jay, and says it's not necessary to be Robin too, but Dick Is all "unless you want to, little wing! I'm gonna teach you all the *best* moves B is too old to do!" Sue me, I want one happy Batfamily, ok? Ok).
•Robin the second*: Jason's solo movie, Kid Devil Pen pal, Kyle(?), Rose(?), Gar(?) or the Titans say he's too little?; Catwoman/Ivy/Nocturna as mentors/aunts? Heist movie. Professor Pig/Toymaker as antagonist? He ends up saving the Titans/Batman despite the doubts about him.
Batman: "A death in the family"/[?]
(Garzonas/child trafficking ring; they butt heads about 'procedure' and 'too much violence'; Barbara is paralyzed; Jay looks for Haywood, she sells him out to Joker, Jason dies. A few months later, B gets called to deal with Flashpoint and finds out Flash is the reason Jay died ("Allen, you killed my son? You killed my SON!" "I'm sorry- Bruce, I'm-" "Effective immediately, Allen's tenure in the Justice League is terminated. Central City will be relegated to Wallace, if he's ready to take on the name." "Bruce!" "If he can not use his powers responsibly, he can not be trusted with them. Unless you want me to give you an antidote." "...you don't have one." "Are you willing to try me?" post-credit scene. Jay's hand breaking the ground of his grave post-post credit scene)
Batman: [?]/Bane of the City
(Tim as Robin Origin story. Broken back, Dick as Batman for a little while, they defeat Bane, Bruce heals a little bit, Barbara remakes herself as Oracle and saves their asses at a crucial moment, etc. Jason is alive and with the LoA, baby!Damián? post-credit scene.)
•Robin the third*: Tim's solo movie, he finds Connor and goes against Lex? + Cassie and Bart, of course. Steph is introduced at the end (iconic brick-in-the-face moment).
Batman: Under the Red Hood/[?]
(RH takes over the Alley in a couple of weeks; steals the kryptonite and ruins deals for Black Mask; kills the leutenants of the mobs and gains control over them, etc. ("B, this guys is not out of control." "Dick?" "I'd say this guy is completely in control. Look at these! He hasn't killed a single innocent. Every one of these men and woman have charges for murder, rape, abuse, child pornography or molestation, human trafficking... and all of them got away with it or got the minimal sentence or had the charges dropped or the witnesses killed. They weren't casualities, they were targeted." "It doesn't matter, he's still killing people." "Yeah, bad people! The worst society has to offer." "Dick..." "Bruce, we have bigger problems than a man that keeps the civilians out of things, the children protected and only takes his rage on the worst of humanity.") Jason still attacks Tim at TT, but only to keep him out of the final confrontation -broken wrist, ankle and bruised ribs- ("No more dead Robins" is written in Jason's blood on the wall). Jason as RH reveal; B accepts Jay killing Joker -he turns around and gives him permission- but the damn clown blows up the building before he can and scapes even after RH shoots him a few times. Jason collapses in Bruce's arms, sobbing, terrified. B asks Jay to comes home and he does, to a heartfelt reunion. Jason apologizes to Tim, giving him the R he cut off the Robin suit in the case instead of the one he took in the Tower. Damian's existence bomb drop post-credit scene. One big happy Batfamily, see?).
•Robin the fourth*: Steph's solo movie. She starts the movie as Spoiler, ends the movie as Robin but dead. Steph tries to stop her dad, meets R!Tim, they fall in love somewhere in the middle. R!Tim wants her as part of the Titans, she refuses cuz her mom doesn't know about Spoiler and she wants to stay in Gotham due to Cluemaster. Jack Drake forces Tim to give up Robin (Steph finds out his identity due to him screaming threats to Bruce) and Bruce offers R to her a few days later, she agrees. Tim doesn't like ir, but Steph is Tim's only contact with the Batfam, so he's ok-ish with it. Cluemaster realizes his daughter is Spoiler/the new Robin and sells the info to Sionis, hoping he'll get him out of prison (he thinks Black Mask will use it to find out who Batman is, not torture her to death, but still). B&Steph butt heads, some "you're too much like Jason" comments/classism thrown her way (Jason is in the LoA trying to convince Talia to give up Damian to B, btw) She starts a war between two gangs to stop them destroying her block/neighborhood's business and homes. BM kidnaps her then, and tries to torture the info of Batman and Red Hood (his bitter enemy) out of her. She holds out until N&B&RH rescue her, but too late. She "dies" then ("was I a good Robin?" "you were a great Robin"). (Post-credit scene is her waking up gasping in a hospital bed, her window shows a Savanna.)
Batman: Blood Son/ Blood Feud
(Damian gets to Gotham to witness the end tail of the gang war after Steph's death. Tim is back in the Manor, back as Robin (he put on the suit to stop the war and BM; since Jack is in a coma he doesn't care anymore), working with B & N & RH to clean things up. R almost kills BM by beating him, so RH puts a blade to the guy's throat and says he will kill him if Tim says the word. Tim, in the end, says no. RH then cuts through BM's spinal cord, leaving him paralyzed. ("As a compromise" he grins savagely at Batman, winking.) Damian tries to off Tim the moment they meet, but Tim is very on edge and puts him down quickly and brutally ("You want to be Robin, remplace Steph, with *those* skills? Ha! Give me a break/Pathetic.") Dick tries to explain how fragile Tim is at the moment, while Jason & Alfred try to make them bond by cooking together, and B makes them solve cold cases together (it turns into a competition, of course, but since it ends with Tim spending less Time on the field, B doesn't stop it). Jack dies after an attack at the hospital by Cap Boomerang; after the funeral he goes out as RR, to get revenge. Zsasz gets him first, since RR is out of it. Damian -who was following him, not worried- ends up saving Tim after Zsasz kidnaps him on BM's orders, as payback. He stalls Zsasz until the others get there and cuts off one of his arms while trying not to kill him. (I wanna add Killer Croc here somehow, he's hired but Damián either convinces him to leave or beats him by drugging him or something). While Tim is recovering in the hospital/cave he passes the R to him. (''You'll do a good job." "Tt, of course I will." "Just...maybe get a less sharp weapon?" "Because blunt force trauma is more elegant?" "Nop. It's usually less deadly, tho."))
The (*) means I have no idea for a tittle. I know I want it to be secuencial, like a series, because that's what they are lol.

Lex Luthor (Smallville) - Short Story : Chapter 7
Tumblr media
Friday afternoons were made for getting all your grading done so you could enjoy a stress free weekend.
You'd planned to go to Central City to visit your uncle, but that idea was sort of in the air because you were still a bit worried about Lex. He told you that he needed a few more days with his project and you were a little worried that he wasn't taking proper breaks or getting rest.
The plan was to stop by his place tomorrow and drag him out of the mansion.
You just needed to get through this.
Also apparently get a lollipop for Clark because he looks like a kid deprived of candy. He's been sulking since he showed up at your place that evening.
"Why are you so mopey?"
"I just feel like you're replacing me. Plus I'll probably end up walking in on you two if I just decided to show up at your place without warning."
Your brows scrunch up as you try to listen, but also concentrate on the answers before you.
"What are you complaining about?"
"Lex's crush on you."
The statement caused you to create a long scratch on the paper.
You cursed when you realized and Clark now looks invested.
"W-What do you mean a crush, are you crazy!! Lex doesn't see me that way!!"
Your denial was a bit suspicious.
Any other person would have brushed it off, but your face was actually getting red.
Clark looked like he was assessing the situation.
"(Y/N) do you..have feelings for Lex?"
You really should have seen it coming.
Clark may be blind, but he's not stupid.
Except when it comes to his own life.
"THAT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!!"
So that was a definite yes.
Clark sighed.
"You should tell Lex."
"Are you mad!"
"Trust me."
"Yeah, cause that has never bitten me in the butt before."
"That was one time and it wasn't my fault!!"
"Sure."
With the current topic, you knew you couldn't even think, much less work on the papers. You dropped the red pen with a frown.
"Because of you I have to give this kid an A+. If I give back this paper they might think I'm out to get them."
You slid it to the bottom of the stack, running a hand through your hair.
"Where the hell did this come from all of a sudden?"
"It's not that sudden. You've been spending all your time with Lex. You were probably planning to hang out with him this weekend."
You bite your lip guilty and Clark sent you an accusatory look.
"I knew it!!"
"Whatever!! When did you become such a clingy puppy?"
His face fell.
'I'm not clingy."
Then he persisted to look like an actual puppy that was just denied a pat on the head.
"He says, looking like a kicked puppy."
There was literally no winning.
You try your best not to think about it. Even when you do stop by Lex's place.
It's hard to pretend that you don't wonder what it would be like. To be with him. To watch him smile, because more often than not he's wearing that blank expression. Almost like he's guarding himself.
Guarding his feelings.
You don't want to be just another person that he has to wear a mask around.
So you sort of take the coward's way out. In the event that you're wrong and he doesn't see you that way, at least this conversation would be something you can both laugh off.
"Clark thinks you have a thing for me."
Lex's shoulders became tense, and you're sitting there waiting for him to vehemently deny it, but he just looked stunned. Like you'd just found out something you shouldn't have.
He wanted to punch Clark at that moment because he distinctly remembered telling him not to say a word.
Despite yourself, you blushed, clearly caught off guard. This is what you were hoping for, but it's still a shock.
"Listen, this doesn't mean that we..that you have to.."
For the first time Lex was speechless. You were so used to being the one flustered. Yet Lex was the one losing his composure.
He looks away.
"I don't expect anything from you." He finally says.
Although those are his words, you feel the pulse of disappointment that streams from his body. It's become clear that he's been keeping this from you to maintain this newfound friendship.
"I care about you. I didn't want to sacrifice that. I want to have someone that I can trust who knows parts of me that no one else does. I enjoy your company and this friendship. Wanting anymore than that would be selfish. I've ruined too many relationships by being selfish. I wasn't about to lose this one."
Now that seems unavoidable.
"So you..have a crush on me?"
Lex huffs.
"You make it sound like we're high schoolers."
You have to admit that at this moment you feel like one. Your list of suitors is fairly small. You dated one guy back in high school and that was before you discovered your powers. The second you learned what you were capable of you sort of turned yourself off. More as a defense.
Yet...Lex knows everything and he still wants that chance. You know a lot of his indiscretions and you can say for a fact that you do have faith in him as a person. If anything, his past has made you respect what he's trying to become.
Lex's back is still turned, so you know he doesn't truly hear when you approach. You're hesitant. When you reach for him, you do your best to control your powers, because you don't want them to influence anything. You want to see, feel all that Lex is trying to convey naturally. He turns at the touch, clearly a bit startled at the lack of distance. Your eyes search for him, and when you touch his cheek, he's frozen in place. Everything is so easily displayed on his face and you can't help but wonder how you never noticed before. The pulse that releases from his body is so sudden that you gasp. Your hand drops to his shoulder and your knees buckle. Lex is quick to catch you.
"What's wrong!!"
He looks terrified at the prospect of you being hurt, and you can't seem to stop yourself. You lean up and kiss him. Lex is stunned for a moment, but the second your hands wrap around his neck, he pulls you back to your feet and flush to his body. He's holding on so tightly, like he's afraid this will all be a dream. His hand immediately finds purchase in your hair and you grip at his clothing.
This all feels like a fever, and illusion.
When you begin sliding his jacket off his shoulder, Lex pulls back.
"W-Wait we.."
He's breathing heavily.
You're still trying to collect yourself. When you do, he can see the way color rushes to your cheeks. It's frankly the cutest thing he's ever seen.
"L-Lex I'm sorry I don't know what-"
He shakes his head, still holding you close.
"It was my fault. You were reacting to me, weren't you?"
You swallow, licking your lips. Right now you should be focusing on his words, but his lips look so enticing.
He never thought that such a desperate look would have that effect on him.
"Do you really feel the same way or are you just..responding to me?"
Lex looks a bit unsure. Because more than anything he wants these feelings to be real. Looking at him, you understand. So you take a breath to settle your heart rate. To clear your mind. When you feel ready, you smile at him and press your palm over his heart.
"This is how I feel."
There's a distinct pink glow and Lex is the one who gasps, because what he feels in his chest is hard to explain. You've never truly used your abilities on him. Partly because of fear and the other due to uncertainty. He's not the only one who's been hiding his feelings.
It takes a few seconds, and the glow dissipates. You're smiling at him shyly and Lex takes your open palm, still a bit breathless.
There's no words he can use to describe how incredible that just felt. He squeezes your hand just a little, and you bite your lip, right before Lex leans in and claims it. You accept the kiss happily, smiling against his lips.
At this very moment, all you feel is content.

More controversial MAWS takes
(and a plead for people to reblog with screenshots from Maws for memes)
About the other Earths plotline
I semi worry about this plot thread. I am always excited to see other worlds, but I have to like wonder what their going to do with it.
A few things before I go off:
Jimmy doesn't feel like he internationally reveal this information with anyone but Clark or questioning Lois about why she has videos of Clark being evil
Jimmy doesn't feel like the type of person who would immediately start doubting clark after knowing him for years, but my god did the end credits start ominously
Having just watched the promo i am glad my feeling of someone is going to drop it and either clark or the general sees it was correct
Now on to points about like actually including the earths:
Aside from the mental scarring Clark is about to go through, the video will definitely get to waller at somepoint and it will definitely be used for propaganda.
Because it is either that or the Lois squad comes back to try and kill Clark and that is a whole other can of worms with many possible threads like if they'll work with the government/Kadmas (their is no chance their earth's don't have Kadmas, earth 16 is in the hall of Lois and Kadmas literally hijacked control of the watch tower to blow up a town so people would fear the JL)
So is that the last we see of them or do they find their way back to MAWS and manhunt superman? If they don't come back will the general find the superman x file and have a change of heart where he no longer has sympathy for superman? Will Waller get her hands on it and use it to strengthen her case that Superman should be put down so the public agrees? Will Alex finally become Lex and come to hate superman because he loses all his hair? Does this plot thread just become a will they won't they for Clark and being superman? How many times are we going to break this little bean of a superhuman man?
But even ignoring the multiple possible timelines we could go into there are a bunch of questions i have about the Loises in general; The superman in the file are dead, right? I can't imagine they kept them alive after seeing what they did.
So what happened to the other Earths and..since all their weapons seem to be based on just green kryptonite how do they deal with special supermen. Yes, there are evil supermen and man are affected by green kryptonite so it's a safe but but what do you do with people like Ultraman or Bizzaro Superman?
Can the Loises swap what kind of kryptonite is in their weapons? Do they know about the other Kryptonite? How do they feel about worlds were there aren't Loises or worlds with evil loises like earth 3 (any of them, sometimes she's evil, sometimes she's married to Lex)? What do they do about evil Loises? Do they just kill every superman they find?
I am both excited and worried for this because it can either be a really good plot or a maddening one. I don't want it to die waiting in the wings but I also don't want like an overly complex battle when at least 2 of these sides have the single motivation of "Kill superman because he has the potential to be evil" I blame neither of them for that take just like I couldn't fully blame Lois for not trusting Clark because they did have tangible proof to either not trust Clark or not trust Kryptonians, but we'll see where this goes

Comics this week, especially Wonder Woman's relaunch under Tom King ?
Wonder Woman #1 -
Wondersisters we're fucking back! Fantastic first issue from King and Sampere. It's a very tight compressed read, King wants to make the reader feel as blindsided by how quick everything goes to hell as Diana no doubt does. Sovereign looks like the King Washington from AC3, and I love his design. Connecting him to WW through the lasso mythology is a great concept. Despite the lasso being her iconic weapon, we really don't know a lot about it. King wants to write Superman so bad he gave Wonder Woman her own bald evil genius/mastermind to fight. Seeing Sarge Steel kill an Amazon in front of her own wife and child is a hell of a way to set the stakes. Some people were upset about that, but WW has needed to increase the feeling of danger in her books for a while now, and this accomplished that. Themsyacria itself isn't in danger, but Wonder Woman's mission in Man's World is, and that's a set up that works for me.
Love how Diana casts a huge shadow despite it being a while before she actually appears on page. We see King have her do all the actions you'd expect and then King shoots them all down as ineffective. God I love that scene where she sends her sword back to Nubia because she doesn't want to be tempted, sells the hell out of her being furious. And her dressing down of Sarge Steel? Peak Wonder Woman right there.
Steve is in a potentially very interesting place. Usually he's just Diana's wholesome and supportive boyfriend, this is a chance to put the screws to him and find out what makes him tick. He swore an oath and is technically committing treason by helping Diana, which he points out, but he still helps her all the same. Now I get we don't want to focus too much on a man in a WW book, but as her most important male supporting character, I argue that Steve needs fleshing out to bring him up to the level Lois and Selina are at.
My only qualm is I wish we get a page dedicated to the reaction of the other Wondy Rogues at this new player making moves. What does Circe or Cheetah or Cale make of this? Grail is going to show up, what's her angle? Definitely could see Psycho jumping for joy. While I doubt Sovereign can actually be Wondy's arch, I do like him as this new major player who upends Wondy's status quo, and I want to see where the other Wondy Rogues fit into his plans.
Superman #6 - Quick read but at least next issue is the oversized one. Livewire remains an ass despite working at the Daily Planet and that makes me deliriously happy. Having her as the anti-Superman voice at the Planet is a great gag, hell you could even have her livestream her fights with Supes to boost the DP's sales as a way to profit from being a villain even when she loses. AI Lex insisting on calling Superman "son" remains hilarious, Clark is clearly fed up with Lex's bullshit. The Chained seems to be a powerful telekinetic, was hoping for a more creative powerset, but at least he has hair. Saw that reference to Master Jailer helping Lex build the prison that held Chained, please let that be a tease for Jailer to make his return soon.
World's Finest #19 - Meh. Far as first meetings between Superman and Batman go, this one is down near the bottom. Jax is every bit as boring as I thought he would be, and Waid just pays lip service at the end towards the idea of Batman not trusting Superman. More fuel for the speculation that Waid is taking over Action with "Aethyr" showing up. What a boring look and design, not at all the Lovecraftian god in the vein of Gerber that PKJ had been building up. If Waid is really taking Action I have zero hope he delivers a satisfying conclusion to whatever plot threads PKJ himself doesn't wrap up. Waid is simply too stuck in the Silver Age. Let's hope Kingdom Come gives this book the shot in the arm it needs.
Nightwing #106 - Without Redondo the book's paper thin nature is front and center. Still, far as continuity goes, this does use the Ric era in a good way. Taylor of all people being the one to do something interesting with that time period surprises me.
Green Lantern: War Journal #1 - My grandma has dementia and I teared up at that scene where John makes a construct of his sister for his mother who has it. Caring for relatives with dementia is just trying to keep them happy even when it breaks your heart. If PKJ is really losing Action, at least here he can continue the United Planets plot threads with Thaaros. John put that fraud GL in his place and it was badass. If the Radiant Queen can body hop, maybe the people who speculated she's an alternate version of Katma are right and the body she's been in isn't her original.
Vigil #5 - It's good! Castle is more than a little shit.
Loki #4 - Damn good mini that I can only assume is being totally ignored by Ewing given the ending has Loki seemingly embracing his status as the God of Lies again. Or is that actually setting up Ewing Loki, who is openly apologetic about how he's going to fuck over Thor if it makes for a good tale in Immortal Thor? Watters needs to get more work.
Captain America #1 - Solid character beats and interactions, but it lacks a big "hook" as it were to keep me reading. I am amused to see JMS' big return to Marvel monthlies involves someone trying to make a deal with the devil.

Adding to this, Oliver taught Tim to use a bow when he was tiny, think Merida of Brave? Kinda like that. Little baby was small and Ollie got him a tiny bow and taught him, so that was actually his first weapon. So, despite leaving the bow skills mainly in Star City and using more bo staff as Robin or Red Robin, his best weapon is in fact the bow, because he's got more experience with it (Bruce refused to teach him or acknowledge their vigilante personas until he was confronted directly) and is actually as or more skilled than Roy, seeing as he's had his whole life of experience, but he only uses the bow as a hobby, he enjoys it, but doesn't use it as primary weapon. That said, his upper body strength is insane, he does have an archer build.
Now, if he did stalk the bats, I don't think he'd do it without something to defend himself with, so he took a bow and some arrows. This happens only during the few nights he was left with a nanny he could fool, because Janet did not leave him alone and her friends weren't always available. It's mainly school nights, where he couldn't get to and from another city so easily and Bruce wasn't able to take him in (bc of patrol mainly). This is before either he found out their identities, or he got the guts to confront B.
So this kid ran around with a bow and a quiver, and when he ran into trouble and the bats couldn't help without him compromising his position (especially after he figures it out, he's not willing to be seen because he WILL be recognized), he shoots the threat. Now, this boy spends a LOT of time with Lex, and while Lex refrains from sharing his most evil plans with the kid (or Janet will stop trusting him with the kid, he doesn't want that, he loves his nephew), he does challenge morality. As a result, Tim has no qualms about killing.
So before Tim joined the Batfam, the Bats occasionally found arrows on corpses. Batman interrogates Green Arrow, because an arrow or two are very evidently his or at least his style (Tim did not mean to shoot those, he uses more generic arrows, but sometimes he's in a rush and they mix), and Ollie absolutely knows the moment he sees the arrows that it's Tim. He's no snitch, though, and Tim is not associated with Green Arrow, so "No, Batman, what would I be doing all the way over there? I have my own city". This starts before Roy joins him. Tim is far too young, and Oliver will have a talk with him, but hey, at least he's safe. He'll also train the kid harder, just in case.
Tim does try to aim for injuring and not killing upon Oliver's request, "try" being the key word. He still does kill, but not as much. He only really kills if he finds it necessary (if he's heavily outnumbered, for example)
Tim Drake is not a vigilante before Robin. He's a kid that defends himself with arrows. That's it. It's not his job (yet) to interfere with crimes, he only does it when it's too bad to stand by and watch. Only to keep his uncle Ollie happy, he whistles a warning before shooting, a chance for the criminals to stop and walk away. If they take it and stop, he doesn't shoot. If they keep going, he shoots. Again, he tries not to kill, only because Ollie will know and be disappointed. So word spreads quickly, that if you hear a particular tune whistled, you better stop and run.
Instances of him shooting are rare and far between, and those of him killing with the arrows even more so. Batman kinda stops looking for the shooter, because 1 he has no lead, and 2 he has much more pressing matters and worse criminals.
There's a window of time before Jason passes down Robin but after Tim confronts them about their identities, where they train him but naively believe he's going back to bed like a normal kid.
During this period, this is a kid with a bow and arrows, and training to be sneaky and stay in the shadows. He follows the Bats, like he's always done, with a black hoodie, cargo pants and combat boots. Occasionally, he still shoots, and hides in the shadows immediately after and changes position.
The Sparrow Ghost (named by those who heard the eerie whistle, a play on the bird vigilante theme and the arrows) becomes a myth amongst criminals. Some believe it, some do not. You cannot see the archer (hence, Ghost)
Once, Batman, Nightwing and Robin were outnumbered. A trap. Smart, well-executed, and coincidentally well-timed. Robin is injured, Nightwing has a bad case of the flu, Batman is a concerned parent. None is at 100%. But they did not take into consideration the kid watching from the rooftops.
A whistle echoes. Some goons drop their weapons. Some do not.
Thwump
An arrow flies, piercing the shoulder of the guy holding Robin.
Thwump
Another pierces the hand of the goon pointing a gun to Nightwing.
Now without his boys in immediate danger, Batman can act. The Sparrow Ghost turned the tides, the bats did the rest easily. Tim remains hidden, just in case they need him again. They don't.
After being offered Robin, Tim doesn't really stick to his bow and arrows. It's not the Bat way. Sparrow Ghost disappears— Mostly. Occasionally, when he shouldn't be patrolling (school nights, for example) but he's restless, he still takes his bow and quiver, puts on his hoodie, a mask now that he has one, and goes out.
Ok, hear me out. An AU where Janet Drake is best friends with Lex Luthor, Bruce Wayne and Oliver Queen.
They met in school, and she's a high society girl, not expected or allowed to be much more than a pretty face, but there's this trio of smart idiots (they did all sorts of stupid stuff at school, but they are overall very, very smart), and they're in all sorts of cool classes and extracurriculars, and she wants to learn
So, she snakes her way into the group with well-timed looks and blushes. They eventually include her in all their activities, and so she learns all sort of stuff that she usually wouldn't be allowed to learn, because they help her keep it in the down low. No, she's not taking classes with them, she's being a proper lady and cheering her smart friends on through the oh-so-hard classes.
At some point or another, they all develop a crush on her, fleeting as it may be (they're hormonal teens and they're required to flirt, it was bound to happen)
They flirt publicly, as it keeps the media from pressuring them into relationships— or so they thought. It backfires when they're adults, the media is demanding Janet settle down and stops leading all three of them on. But there would be a scandal if she picked any of them, so she picks Jack, someone who doesn't love her or she loves, but someone desperate enough to climb the social ladder to care if he loves his wife.
When he's not allowed to flirt anymore, that's where Bruce realizes that he actually liked her.
When Tim comes along, and Janet has to go on trips, she leaves him with her trusted friends. So, Tim learns a lot from his Uncle Lex, learns to shoot a bow from his Uncle Ollie, and loves staying with his Uncle Bruce and his children. He figures him out far too easily and does become Robin when Jason figures he's ready to pass on the mantle to his little brother (because they're brothers. Tim spends a lot of time in their house)
Bruce adores Tim, he really does. It just kinda hurts, that he's Janet's kid, but not his.
Eventually, Janet divorces Jack, and she gets to spend a lot more time in Gotham. But by now Tim is as much Bruce's as he is Janet's, so they co-parent the gremlin that is her son, which leads to a lot of time with Bruce.
Bruce treats her better than Jack ever did, and she trusts him far more. They have the memories of years together. Eventually, Bruce tells her the truth— that he never truly moved on from his best friend.
When they marry, sure it's a media circus, but also not a surprise.
She's also a good mom, to Tim as much as to Dick or Jason.
When Jason finds out Catherine is not his mom, sure he gets curious, but he has a mom already, he's happy. He does want to meet his bio mom, but he agrees to do so safely, not go alone. Fine, B, you can come with.
Joker never happens. Jason is disappointed when he finds his mom is not at all what he expected, and he has a much better one at home.
Eventually, when Damian comes into the picture, he's snappy with Janet. "you will never be my mother, you harlot!" but Janet simply puts a hand on his shoulder and speaks calmly, yet sharp as the blade he threatens her with
"You will not speak to me like that, boy. No, I am not your mother. But I am married to your father, and I hold the authority as such, so you will go up to your room, you will cool down, and you will never threaten or insult me again, or you will be grounded."
"You can't do that!"
"She can. She has my full permission to discipline my kids, Damian. In this house, she holds as much authority as I do." Bruce interjects
Damian, begrudgingly, learns to respect Janet, and eventually he does see her as a second mom
The amount of times Oliver or Lex visit the Wayne-Drake household is absurd, but sue them, they like their friends. This leads to a lot of chaos, because every time Oliver visits so does Roy, and Roy hangs out with Dick and Jason, while Damian sticks to glaring at everyone.
Meanwhile, they dote on Tim, because they sure as hell have a favourite nephew, and it's the one they watched grow inside the belly of one of their best friends, the one they all changed the diapers of, the one they've taught a lot of skills to, the one they helped raise in a way they never helped raise any of the other Wayne boys. They don't even try to hide their preference. Now, of course they like all their nephews, but it's always hilarious because when Tim is around his uncle Lex, he's ten times the evil mastermind he generally is, and Oliver encourages it, simply for the chaos, and so does Janet, while Bruce is downright terrified of the idea of Tim as a villain (everyone is)

No because the way this list is so so wrong in so many ways.
Like I get that this website probably isn’t all that serious, but I need to break this down because I just-
Okay.
I have a couple issues with this list:
The main one being the way in which they have ranked the Nublar 6, while the other is the actual arguments for how they seemingly decided to rank these kids.
First, besides for Zach, all of the campers are at the bottom of the list. I’m not going to get into where they are all placed in the ranking, but it is clear that whoever made this list didn’t actually pay attention to how the kids were written and the actual depth that these characters have. Collectively, it seems like their arguments for the N6 is that they’re all annoying in their own ways, and that’s that.
I get that not all Jurassic fans may be interested in CC, especially since it’s garnered for a slightly younger audience (even though everyone can enjoy it and that doesn’t mean it’s dumbed down or anything!), but if someone goes to the trouble to actually rank all of the kids in the Jurassic franchise, they have to actually understand each of their arcs, personalities, quirks, vulnerabilities, motives, etc. In the case of the N6, they really only list the “bad” or “annoying” things about them, instead of actually taking a step back and looking at these characters as a whole. (And yes, I do understand that the N6 have their moments as well, like Darius in S5.)
For example, with Kenji they describe him as being “obnoxious” and an “arrogant trust-fund brat”, while also stating that he has a character arc. This reads as if they’ve only watched the first season of the show. (And this article was released AFTER Dominion and season 5 came out, so there’s no excuse for not having seen the other seasons.) And these are the same people saying that they love when Kelly drop-kicks a velociraptor out of a window! (Though I’m not saying you can’t like this scene, is was a pretty goofy moment.)
In Kenji’s case, he’s so much more complex than that, and he goes through a MAJOR arc throughout the show, even flip-flopping a few times.
I could go on about all of the other issues I have with their statements on the N6 (like how Sammy is “poorly written” or that Ben is suddenly super pretentious after having spent some time alone in the jungle or how Yaz is one of the least interesting characters, when I’d argue that she’s actually one of the MOST interesting), but I digress.
The other issue is the actual comparisons that they’ve made for these kids. With the N6, they simply state their “annoying traits” or flaws, so to speak, while with the other kids they either:
A: only state their good or bad qualities or
B: list a few facts about what they did in their respective films
Take Maisie as an example (who I’d argue is one of the least interesting characters of the franchise despite her unique backstory and great portrayal from Isabella Sermon):
Their only real argument for her is that she is a clone. That’s it. They go on to say that’s she been in two movies and has played two different characters, unlike the other kids, but there’s nothing actually about her as a character and who she is.
I would also mention that the novel versions of Lex, Tim and Kelly are on this list (as well as Arby Benton from The Lost World), but it’s been a hot minute since I’ve read Jurassic Park and I never really got into The Lost World, so I can’t offer my two cents on those kids.
I know this isn’t super serious or whatever, but I just needed to rant because when I read this list, I was mad that our beloved N6 weren’t getting the love that they deserve.
(Ps if you actually read this entire thing, thank you! I know it’s just a silly goofy ranking list, but I enjoy talking about this kind of stuff!)

Heya, I was wondering if I could get a quick comic book rec. I've read RHaTO Vol. 1 up to issue... 27 I think it was? (Basically the first 4 volumes) ans RHaTO Vol. 2 up to issue 18 (end of Vol. 3)
Are volumes 6 & 7 of RHaTO vol.1, Red Hood & Arsenal, volume 4 of RHaTO vol.2, and Red Hood: Outlaw, worth a read?
Hi Anon! I apologise in advance because I was very verbose in answering this yes or no question lmao.
Disclaimer first, because RHATOs is always gonna be written by Scott Lobdell, so it's always gonna be at least vaguely misogynistic and full of heavy handed abuse apologia because Lobdell is a misogynistic abuser. That said, if you can stomach that, there's usually *some* merit to most of them.
(and, just to be clear, I am certainly not recommending you *pay* for any of them 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️)
So, RHATO vol. 1.
Volume 5 is actually one of the better ones imo, it finishes up the story from volume 4, and then has a few self-contained stories focusing on Roy and Kori individually (so depending on your opinions of nu52 characterisation ymmv). Bonus points for this adorable panel;
Tumblr media
Volume 6 and 7 are a really weird mishmash of main plot about Kori doing space-drugs (which is unsurprisingly lacking in any nuance, making it especially frustrating when the book also features a recovering addict and a guy who grew up surrounded by drug users), their nu52 origin stories (which are retconned again in Rebirth anyway), then there's the bizarre little Christmas issue (which I don't hate), and the weird flash forward issue (which I *do*) that is also retconned out with the Red Hood/Arsenal run so. These two are entirely skippable for me.
Red Hood/Arsenal
There are only two volumes of this, and if you managed rhato vol. 1 then this is fine. It's a lot lighter in tone, even if I'm not a big fan of the Joker's Daughter plot in volume 2. Personally, I think this run is worth it just for the jayroy dynamic - genuinely don't know what Lobdell was going for but he accidentally wrote a gay sitcom. I mean seriously, look at this break up scene;
Tumblr media
RHATO Vol 2.
I canNOT believe I'm saying this, but you should probably read through this one. #25 (MY BELOATHED) is actually the conclusion to the Bruce and Jason trust arc of early rhato rebirth, and as much as I hate the direction they went with it, it does fit with the general state of Jason and Bruce's relationship in rebirth. It also seems to be the jumping off point they've used for more recent interactions (Cheer and TFZ).
Red Hood: Outlaw
Volume 1: Requiem for an Archer. So, this is the start of Lobdell's shameless projection onto Willis Todd, and naturally they skip right over any consequences of Bruce beating the shit out of his kid AGAIN, but I actually quite like this one. It's nice to see Jason work competently alone, and I think it does a good job of letting Jason's grief breathe, after the chaos of everything in the previous volume. Also, this is where he meets Dog and she's a good girl.
Tumblr media
Volume 2: Prince of Gotham. I like this one too, actually. Jason gets to wear his fancy little suit and be clever and calculating, he gets to actually use his criminal links for once, and it's the biggest fuck you to Bruce since utrh imo. I hate the random ass non-plot point of Jason suddenly having a public civillian ID again, but that nonsense is worth it for this scene alone;
Tumblr media
Volume 3: Generation Outlaw. This one... I like in theory lol. Jason gets to be a teacher, I think putting himself between Lex Luther and a bunch of impressionable young metas is something he would do, and one of the kids is a non-binary entity (it's a little ham-fisted, but I never say no to more enby characters!) HOWEVER. The writing takes a turn again here, and where Jason was clever in the last one he's now a bit of a bumbling idiot being outsmarted by a bunch of kids. The Artemis and Bizarro plotline is weird and a but pointless, but they are back by the end of this volume, and it contains the one jaytemis kiss that I like (because they both hate it lmao. wlw mlm solidarity).
Volume 4: Unspoken Truths. This is just out and out bad. The writing goes from bad to worse, Isabel is dragged back for absolutely no reason other than Lobdell wanting his blorbo JT to be surrounded by women he's slept with at all times, the art is terrible. There's a single Joker War crossover issue which is meaningless without context, and also drags Joker's Daughter back up AGAIN, and it ends with the Outlaws breaking up again because Jason isn't allowed to keep any friends ever.
ANYWAY. All of that was a complete non-answer because it really does depend on what you like and don't, but I hope my rambling at least helps a little!

HI @jellyfitzjelly I FORGOT TO TALK ABOUT THE ENCHANTED AU SO HERE I GO (some stuff is kind of wishy-washy and some relationships might not make the most sense but like I'm trying to string the Justice League into a Disney movie give me a break)
The premise is, instead of a fairytale world, there's the real world, and the comic world. Just like in the fairytale world, the characters are archetypes of fairytale characters, in the comic world they're archetypes of comic book characters. Think real classic 40-50s, cape-can-stop-lava type vibe, very black and white view on good and evil, and the supes are pretty much "on" all the time, they don't really have public personas -- if you asked them their names, sure, Superman could tell you he's Clark Kent! GL could tell you he's Hal Jordan, no problem. But when's the last they remember actually being Clark or Hal? They live to save people and fight evil! That's what gives them purpose in life!
Superman and the Flash team up to do a job together and what do you know, they make a great pair! What would be even better is... what if they put together a crime-fighting team? (Crime-fighting with someone else is like... their equivalent to romance, almost, so Flash might as well have proposed to Superman -- and he says yes!)
In putting together their crime-fighting team, Superman turns to someone he knows can help -- the generous Lex Luthor. Philanthropist, inventor, genius businessman who's helped the people of their city through countless disasters, who better to help than him? :) So when Lex tells Superman that he has an amazing new technology that will make their lives so much easier, Superman is eager to see.
Next thing he knows, he's travelling through dimensions. The multiverse. Whatever you want to call it.
Unbeknownst to pretty much everyone else in comic world, Lex doesn't fit into the black/white view of evil. He's not a one dimensional character. He pretends. He holds the trust of the citizens, of the superheroes, and behind it, he commits whatever unethical acts he wants, because who's going to think to stop him?
Back to Superman. The real world. It looks... Familiar, in a strange way. Reality itself looks different; detailed, imperfect in ways he can't describe, and yet not too different to his world. The buildings are a little uglier maybe, but everyone looks human anyway. He flies off to try and get his bearings and figure out what's just happened to him.
But he can't.
He can't fly.
He can't even leap a building in a single bound. What the hell is happening? The sun doesn't look like a red dwarf, so why is he so weak?
Amid trying to get off the ground, a car hits him. While he's dazed on the ground, registering the fact that, ow, that hurt!, there's a woman standing over him, fussing about, trying to make sure she didn't just kill a guy in the street. Lois Lane.
--
Ok I'm too lazy to write the rest narratively so bullet points!
• Bruce is Lois' boyfriend. Head of Wayne Industries, still about as fucked up as canon Bruce, but he hides it better and gets on with life because, what else can he do?
• Seeing as she nearly killed him with her car, Lois takes Clark in (after being fairly confident that he's not a danger to her; she probably pepper sprays him at least once in this AU), which leads to an. Odd? Situation with her and Bruce? Bruce doesn't jump to thinking she's cheating on him, but he is like. Why is there a bodybuilder in blue spandex in your apartment. Lois does her best to explain that he's clearly not well and she's just trying to figure out how to get him back home, wherever that is.
• Clark gets to experience being a normal guy! Which, again, is weird for him, because he knows he has a civilian persona but... when has he ever been a civilian? He gets to wear a normal shirt and normal pants and normal glasses (because it turns out that without his powers, his eyes suck), and he gets to stand in LINES and deal with delays on the SUBWAY, and even help Lois with some news stories! Being a civilian is so different and wonderful
• Coming off the black and white good and evil thing, I had thought that it would be really interesting if Clark was faced with complex morality in the real world. Maybe he goes with Lois to meet an informant who's an ex-con, and he doesn't understand at first how a criminal can help fight crime. He has to learn that people are multifaceted and can change and grow, or that sometimes they do bad things because they have no choice, or people sometimes pretend to be good but do awful things behind the scenes (cough)
• While Clark is dealing with all of that and Lois is dealing with all of Clark, Wally has made his way into the real world (against Lex's advice, claiming the machine is unstable or some bullshit) but Wally can't just leave his future partner-in-justice to fend for himself! So he's going around Metropolis trying to find Superman, without his powers and without much luck.
• (this is one area where things are a bit vague because I don't know the best way to tie it together. I don't have an equivalent for the evil queens lackey, nor for the chipmunk that helps the prince in the movie -- I thought it would be funny if Hal was Wally's "chipmunk", but I couldn't think of a reason why he couldn't clue Wally into the lackey being evil, and again, still no lackey picked)
• Clark comes to realise he loves being a normal guy and being in the normal world, and Lois realises that she loves Clark (and vice versa)
• they have a big fight with Lex at the end where they have to go powerless up against his big mech or something
• Bruce helps out in the final fight alongside Wally, and it turns out oh he likes this. This feels good. He can get behind this. And he goes back to the comic world with Wally to go fight crime in a bat costume and not have to deal with business stuff or social life or ANYTHING, he just gets to kiss his crime fighting husband and beat up murderous clowns
• I don't have many specifics to say on Batflash just because they're not the main focus, but I like to imagine that they get more "screen time" than the prince and uhhh idina menzel in the movie, maybe they meet first while Wally is looking for Clark
Yea :]

Note
semi sapient absolutely sentient eldritch gotham gets tetchy and sulky whenever tim leaves gotham because what if this is the time their little birdy doesn't come back? what if this is the time some other city sinks their claws into her birdy like that hussy central city threatens sometimes? they already nearly lost their Nightwing, their first Robin, to Bludhaven, and the League keeps trying to take their sweet Jason! And Gotham knows in some deep part of herself that if Tim left her for good, she couldn't blame him, but she'd miss him! she'd miss her little starlight who kept her from destroying herself, her little birdy who saved her son, her Bat, she'd miss the little birdy that loved her even when she was at her worst and she doesn't want him to go!
Gotham goes NUTS when she realizes that Ra's is being creepy about her birdy and almost, almost forces a boon on Tim so she can keep him close and keep Ra's away from her birdy
Kon has similar issues with Metropolis who has thoroughly claimed Superman and Metropolis noticed negative vibe Superman displayed towards Kon and the dehumanizing sort of attitude from its other chosen, Lex, and so Metropolis isn't too welcoming to Kon either
Bart didn't have a boon, Central, Keystone, and any other city in his future that could have offered him one were all either destroyed or twisted so that boons were a bad idea and Bart doesn't really want to be tied to any single place now either, just in case
Cassie may or may not have been offered a boon from Themyscira but she asked Tim how to politely decline
C4 WITH BOONS!!!
I particularly like the angle with Bart. Not only does he not trust it due to his experiences in the future, but he also doesn't want to be tied down. Bart is constantly on the go and traveling. A boon makes it difficult for him to leave for extended times (especially if YJ does space missions).
I also love sentient city beef. Let them bicker and hate each other (maybe some actually like each other). Regardless, they are all stuck to their city limits. They can't leave, but they can ask their favored to mess with other cities.
I'm kind of curious about the association of boons with heroes. I don't think GLs would have boons, but what about the rest? What if not having boons is another reason "Just Us" was formed and relied on each other? What if that was a trait ALL YJ members shared?
Perhaps Gotham is special in her boons and behaviors/responses, and the other cities are much more subtle in their boons/favor. Lots of possibilities

i fixed supergirl season 5 (part 1/3)
hi i'm back on my supergirl bullshit :) anyway my episode by episode notes for how supergirl season 5A could/should have gone is below the cut, enjoy
(the rest will be in another post, this got way too long)
Overall Themes
Season 5 is about facing reality and accepting grief and pain. This is already done well in 5B imo but it could have been even more central to the plot (see plot)
Emotionally Lena is in a terrible horrible no good very bad place right now. They executed this pretty well in the show but I think they should have scrapped Lex and Rama Khan / most of Leviathan and made her the primary villain.
Kara has to learn to forgive herself for keeping a secret she was forced to keep. They also did this pretty well huh maybe season 5 had good themes after all
Overall theme of forgiveness, of self and of others. This ties into the previous themes; you need to face your grief and forgive in order to move on.
Note on CGI
Real talk here the CGI is the one thing that I have no defense of
It's dependent on budget so there probably wasn't much they could have done but. hhh
Anyway imagine all of these things with like season 2 level CGI
Episodes
*important changes in bold.
5x01: Event Horizon
Original rating: 7/10
Absolutely love the cold open. Perfect. Change nothing
Instead of the confusing restrictive contract thing, the crew stays at CatCo because they still believe in it. A small amount of blackballing can be involved.
Kara and Lena scenes are good
Fight scene with Midnight: They don't know Malefic exists yet so there isn't that much you can do with action. But definitely a roll call style fight scene that showcases each character's powers in their most iconic way (Dreamer gets a dream pun, Guardian does his shield slide move, etc.)
And maybe let Supergirl do the sonic boom clap thing, just for kicks
Malefic doesn't tell J'onn he's his brother right away. Like Lena, he wants to hurt the person who hurt him while avoiding direct confrontation with those feelings or that person.
5x02: Stranger Beside Me
Original rating: 5/10
Cold open on William, talking to someone about Andrea and Russell Rogers. We start to get hints of his true integrity; he's kind to his source and willing to show his vulnerability to earn their trust.
Also he should be less annoying in general
Malefic releases some other villain from the Phantom Zone to kill J'onn. Brief villain of the week run ensues.
Lena is continuing to develop Non Nocere, but she's having science problems, as she often does. Perhaps intersperse some clips of Lex from S4 or childhood, showing her emotional volatility.
Leave Eve out of the picture for now
Kelly and J'onn figure out that J'onn is missing memories. J'onn thinks his mind was wiped by someone, but Kelly notes that his brain activity matches that of someone who's repressed trauma.
5x03: Blurred Lines (Ancestral Memory)
Original rating: 4/10
Split this episode in half and stretch it over two episodes. Move James's goodbye to episode 5.
Kara and Lena stuff is good
Malefic releases the Aurafacian from the Phantom Zone in a continued villain of the week fashion.
Nia and J'onn access J'onn's repressed memories. They realize that Malefic (1) exists and (2) is behind all this. J'onn considers reaching out, but he can't find the courage.
The Super Friends defeat the Aurafacian, but Rip Roar kills her before they can take her in.
Fight scene with Malefic: He continually turns into and/or mind controls each of them so that there's very little actual fighting (think DEO scene in human for a day)
Also I think it should be called ancestral memory
Closing scene: William finds an exhausted Russell after the attack. He tries to reason with him, but Russell speeds away.
Closing image: Frustrated at his delegates' failures, Malefic decides to take things into his own hands.
5x04: In Plain Sight
Original rating: 6/10
Cue Sean Astin and temporary Kelly superpowers
Lena works with the DEO to create the modified Phantom Zone projector
They manage to corner Malefic using temporary Kelly superpowers. Right when they're about to hit him with the Phantom Zone projector, J'onn calls out for them to stop—Malefic is worth saving, and one needs to face their past, not lock it away—but Lena sets it off anyway, imprisoning Malefic.
Meanwhile, Kara follows William while he investigates Gemma Cooper (prev. Margot), Eve's white-haired connection to Leviathan. He reveals that he's investigating the disappearance of his friend Russell, which he believes is related to Andrea.
None of the Elena Torres stuff. This is solidly a B plot
He tells her that he was only acting so annoying because Andrea only trusts people who act for their own predictable self-interests (hinting at a deeper backstory for Andrea). However, he got into journalism because he isn't afraid to face the truth. Kara relates.
Kara and Lena talk about what happened with Malefic. Lena asserts that she was right, echoing her words to Lex; Malefic is a bad person, and the world will never be safe with him in it. We see how the events of the past few months have radicalized her mindset. The only way to save humanity is to control it.
5x05: Dangerous Liaisons
Original rating: 4/10
Put James's goodbye here. We can still do the date-aversary and trauma stuff with Kelly in Calvintown.
Wracked with guilt, J'onn tries to reach out psychically to Malefic, but he can't reach him. He thinks it's because Malefic is in the Phantom Zone, but it's actually because Lena has used her data from the previous episode to block J'onn's Q-wave frequencies while she experiments with Malefic's Q-waves.
Big showdown with Rip Roar over the geyser
Fight scene with Rip Roar: Supergirl faces him alone, trying not to hurt him and instead to reason with him. When she says William's name, he hesitates long enough for her to catch him.
Closing scene: At the DEO, William talks to Russell, appealing to their close friendship. When William asks who did this to him (implying Andrea), Russell says one word: "Leviathan."
5x06: Confidence Women
Original rating: 8/10
I highkey love this episode, wouldn't change much about it
Previously on Supergirl: lots of longing looks between Andrea and Lena. But neither of them have the mental or emotional well being to actually talk to the other.
I think overall the adult plot could have been organized better. Spend less time on Acrata and focus instead on Russell, Leviathan, and the general turmoil in Andrea's life.
Draw clear parallels to Lena and Kara's relationship
Canon Rojascorp optional but encouraged
5x07: Tremors (mid-season finale)
Original rating: 7/10
Get rid of Rama Khan. Literally just delete him
Having been told by Kara about William's investigation, Lena follows the clues to Eve. Eve tries to apologize, but Lena won't engage and kidnaps her instead.
The Super Friends research Leviathan. Supergirl goes to the Fortress to gather more information.
Meanwhile, J'onn gets wind that Malefic is still on Earth.
Fortress scene good
Intercut with the Fortress scene, J'onn tracks Malefic and realizes that Lena's been keeping him prisoner. The two pairs speak in parallel as they finally air their grievances. J'onn and Malefic are able to forgive and make up, but Lena and Kara can't.
The reference in my head is why stay / a promise from Next to Normal
I think they kind of did this but not as deliberately
parts 2 and 3 to come!

The Bat & The Lantern || Batman x Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hi, lovely! I had so much fun writing this (I'm not gonna lie, I was quite nervous at first, since I don't know that much about the whole green lantern universe, but guess it turned out...ok?) so I hope you enjoy it as much as I did and to be honest, I would like to revisit this story again in the future!
Little disclaimer: The reader is a Human green lantern but similar to star-lord she lived the majority of her life in space, that's why she's so oblivious as to whom Batman is, also this takes place during Dick Grayson early years as robin (12-13).
Word count: 2233!!!
Summary: Reader is a new member of the Justice League...but Batman doesn't seem too happy about it.
Keys: Y/S/N: Your Superhero Name | Y/N: Your (real) Name.
Hal Jordan was your friend since you joined the green lanterns (which it was barely 3 or 4 years ago)
Basically...you were "new"
But that didn't stop your fellow green lanterns (?) From seeing all your potential.
Everyone is convinced that with the right training and perseverance, you will become one of the greatest green lanterns of all time.
So, it didn't take long before you proved yourself to be capable enough to join the big leagues.
More specifically, The Justice League.
Hal was the one to introduce you to his companions.
The Amazonian, the human looking alien, the speedster, the other Alien not so human looking, the half robot; everyone was so nice to you since they met you.
Everyone except...The grumpy bat.
When you first introduced yourself, he didn't even bother to be as welcoming as the others.
He just stood there, looking all big and serious that you almost thought it was a statue or the poor guy had catatonic lapses or was way too shy or socially awkward to approach you.
You felt bad, so you approached him instead.
—Hi! I'm Y/S/N...—You said enthusiastically before being abruptly interrupted.
—I know, I heard your introduction already—His voice so devoid of any kind of emotion that you may as well had been talking to a machine.
"Scanning complete, Batman"
A voice inside his cowl informed him, it sounded like an older man with a British accent.
—Thank you, I'll check it later.
That’s when it hit you…the reason why he was watching you so intensely and standing so incredibly still: He was scanning you.
Fucking. Son. Of. A. Bitch.
You stayed there, your face paralyzed with surprise and anger, without knowing very well what to answer; you didn't want to cause a scene on your first day, but this man was just so rude; That is not an appropriate way to receive a new member. yes, it is normal to have suspicions, but you would appreciate if he had the decency to let his suspicions be known when you weren't present.
—she just introduced herself and already on with the paranoic behavior, Bats? seriously? —Hal stepped in your defense.
—this is a routine procedure; I'm just being cautious.
—He was like that at the beginning with all of us too, don’t worry he’ll warm up to you in no time—Wonder woman whispered in your ear after watching your uncomfortable expression.
Ultimatedly you decided to listen to the amazonian and let that one slide, “is normal to be wary of new things anyways” you repeated yourself.
As the months passed you have grown quite frustrated. Between all the missions and meetings even though you felt your relationship with the rest of the team grow closer and they began to trust you and respect you; your relationship with the Batman stayed pretty much the same.
Yes, there was a bit of progress….a bit.
He was bit more talkative to you, a bit more “friendly”, a bit more trusting.
But it was always just a bit never actually fully a teammate to you, your relationship felt more like distant coworkers.
At the beginning it didn’t worry you too much, until your lack of communication started to mess with your performance in the missions, sometimes something completely bizarre and unexpected would happen and because both of you didn’t know each other very well, the mission would take the double amount of time to resolve since you couldn’t coordinate at all.
One time he almost ran you over with his batwing…
The whole thing was kinda funny looking back on it but at the time you were furious (rightfully so)
In his defense, he didn’t knew you were there…I mean…you basically where standing in his parking spot (not that you knew there was such a thing, most members could fly or at least jump really high, so you kinda always forgot he couldn’t…and to be honest you didn’t know his exact powers)
—Sorry—was all he said as he got out of the strangely shaped flying vehicle and directed only one glance at you to make sure you where ok before entering the building, always maintaining that characteristic calm and cold demeanor.
One day you entered the hall of justice earlier than usual only to find an unexpected guest sitting in one of the empty chairs his gaze fixated on a book, he was wearing a rather colorful suit of some sort matching his green mask, then you realized when you were close enough…he was a C H I L D.
You panicked, why was a child here? Is he some sort of mini spy? How was he able to get through the security system?  Did he touch anything dangerous?
This and many more questions ran through your mind, the child noticed you were looking at him and only gave a polite nod as a greeting before returning his attention to his book.
Perhaps a school trip that you weren’t aware of was taking place and this kid strayed from his class? Perhaps he was looking for one of your teammates to ask for a photo and got lost and decided to wait here for his teacher? That will explain why everyone wasn’t here in the meetings room, perhaps they were busy giving the (hypothetical) group of children a tour?
—Hey kiddo! Are you lost? —you began the conversation in a friendly tone before kneeling down a little in order to appear less imposing…after all he was a child you didn’t wanna scare him.
He looked at you so incredulously.
You could almost hear him think “ma’am wtf are you doing???” through his expressions.
—What’s your name?
—Ummm…uh…Robin?—He spoke like it was something obvious  while signaling the “R” symbol on his chest.
—Robin, uh? What a pretty name! tell me Robin…why are you here? Are you lost?
Poor boy he was so confused, you didn’t know who he was? Didn’t any of the members told you about him? And more importantly…Why where you talking to him like if he was a 5-year-old?
—No, ma’am…I’m just waiting for Batman.
“Batman? Was he a fan of Batman of all superheroes?”  It surprised you a bit, usually kids tend to like superman or wonder woman more since they are nicer and charismatic, and Batman was the opposite.
—Sorry Kiddo, I don’t think he’s one for photos, perhaps you could ask the others some other time! — you began explaining trying to dissuade the kid while guiding him towards the exit.
—He’s not here for photos—smooth as ever…the Bat was behind you.
—He’s my sidekick.
Your jaw dropped, a sidekick? He’s a CHILD! You knew superheroes had sidekicks, but you never knew they were that young!
Before you could even begin to protest, Batman ignored you, looking down at the child and instructing him to collect his things.
—Hurry, you’ll be late for class again. — He said before disappearing behind the door that led to his parking spot.
Robin quickly followed, hanging his backpack over his shoulder before stopping in his tracks directing an apologetic smile towards you and saying:
—Don’t worry miss, I can take care of myself! — He must have noticed the concern on your face before leaving.
Since that day your routine changed.
You would wake up earlier, many times you’ll be the first to arrive to the Hall of justice, and even have breakfast flying on your way there all for one thing: Robin.
Once you learned he was Batman’s sidekick you couldn’t help but worry over that poor child, “what if he gets hurt? Is he eating/sleeping/resting properly?” you just couldn’t help yourself.
At first it was just checking on the kid by just…seeing him in the morning and greeting him casually but there were times he wasn’t there, and you would panic internally and there was no other way to calm your anxiety until you would ask the Bat about the child.
He would always replay shortly: “He’s at home” “He’s at school” “He’s busy” and your conversations always would end there.
One day that Robin was there however, instead of your usual ‘greeting nod’ he started talking to you.
He asked you all sorts of things (that weren’t compromising to your real identity ofc) “What’s your favorite color?” “What music do you like?” “What’s your favorite movie?”
And it started from there.
The conversations with Robin grew not only more frequent but also more personal (as personal as someone with a superhero lifestyle can be), to the point it had become a routine for you to come early and talk to the boy, sometimes you had breakfast together or even helped him with his homework before the Bat would take him to school.
Perhaps it was because you didn’t have many acquittances here on earth, but Robin became family to you.
And family takes care of each other.
It had been a rather difficult and spontaneous mission; Lex Luthor was starting to act a little bit fishy (more than usual) using his connections and money Luthor had been acquiring/robbing very specifically concerning items all over the US, his next objectives: a Radion sample being investigated in a secret laboratory in Star city and a Dionesium sample...contained in the Wayne tower laboratories...
The team decided to split to put a stop to Luthor’s minions and his plan.
The Bat insisted the rest of the team should go to Star city, telling them that he and Robin could handle it, but everyone was immediately against it: Luthor had already collected relatively powerful items and being the intelligent motherfucker he is, probably transformed some of those items to give to his goon’s so they might have a chance in harming any of the members if they were to interfere.
Ultimately, the team agreed you and cyborg would accompany them to Wayne Tower.
Robin was stoked, he would get the opportunity to fight alongside you! But Batman…not so much…he kept trying to lose the two of you on the way there; fortunately, cyborg put a tracker on the batwing, he wasn’t going to get rid of you that easy.
Upon your arrival, you could spot several men (armed like if they were military but with a much more upgraded equipment) already leaving the building, carrying two tanks (presumably full of that substance Martian Manhunter had mentioned before) and heading to a truck without any plates.
Long story short: you organized a plan as quickly as you could but…something went wrong…Cyborg and Robin were supposed to create a distraction while the two of you recovered the tanks without damaging them, since the properties of the substance within remained unknown.
But something went wrong: You and Batman failed to coordinate and so you were spotted by the henchmen, they started aiming their weapons at the two of you, initially you thought a force field generated by the power of your ring would be enough...oh no, honey, you’re so wrong.
Sonic weapons were able to not only break your concentration quickly, but also made your ears bleed! One after another you kept re-making the fields, but the sonic waves so deathly and loud just kept coming.
You don’t know how but you were able to stand your ground long enough to make cover not only for Batman and allow him to get the tanks back safely but also for the rest of your team and give them a slight advantage to take down as many of Luthor’s minions as they could.
And then…you passed out.
You woke up at the infirmary in Justice Hall, your head a mess and wrapped in bandages, you had broken your arm because that shit inside a cast too for some reason…and…your ring was gone!
Panic!
No, never mind it was on the nightstand next to the chair in which batman was sitting on.
WAIT…next to the chair in which batman was sitting on?!?!?!
—How are you feeling? — you didn’t know if it was him suddenly talking or the genuine concern on his voice that startle you, so you just nodded slightly while he approached you.
—Can you hear me properly? —Surprisingly you could, but you still were a bit taken aback by his presence.
—I…—Before responding your brain reminded you of the fact that you didn’t had your ring on, hence your secret identity was revealed to Batman. Your hands practically flew to your face in embarrassment. You didn’t know why but without your mask you felt naked and vulnerable.
He noticed.
His gaze studying your pained expression before he let out a small sigh.
—I came here…to thank you…and apologize— hesitantly his hands moved to the back of his cowl.
—You not only put yourself in danger for Cyborg and Robin, but you also concerned yourself with my safety even when it was probably my fault that we ended up in that situation —He admitted pressing a hidden button loosing up his cowl before finally taking it off and reviling the most gorgeous man you’ve had ever lay your eyes on.
—And for that I thank you and apologize…sincerely—Such sudden action left you speechless for a while, Batman not only had thanked you and apologized, but he had entrusted his identity to you.
—I think-…I think we started with the wrong foot; you know? —You finally were able to respond, breaking the silence that filled the room and surprising him slightly by your sudden declaration.
—Let’s start again…Hi! I’m Y/N—You imitated the same friendly voice tone you first used to talk to him.
The lips on the man in front of you curved forming a subtle almost imperceptive grin.
—Hello, Y/N, I’m Bruce…Bruce Wayne.
 ♡♤♡♤♡♤♡♤
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! IT. TOOK. SO. LONG. Sorry :c
I had a bunch of ideas for this request but ended up going with this one since I wanted to expand on their beginning, I’m still trying to figure out a way to write Bruce and this was my first attempt, so…sorry if it was…bad :c I’ll try harder next time!!!
Any errors you might see, please let me know; English is not my first language so I’m trying to improve.
In the final scene I wanted Bruce to show he recognized the Reader as an equal so that’s why he took it off…still I felt like it could improve.
 ♡♤♡♤♡♤♡♤
I will forever thank you if you go check out my other profile: @aileysmirnov where I post things about my OC: edits, one-shots, imagines, art, etc. If you like Greek mythology and the bat family maybe you would get to be a little bit fond of her as much as I am!
Anyway! Thank you for reading!

Prom Night!
(ao3)
word count: 2k
rating: T
Shoutout to @krdnvrs for being my number one fan and cheerleader on all of my random ideas, and for listening to me complain. Another thanks to @red-cape-morgana for being my glorified cheerleader ;)
They were in Midvale, working a case, when it happened.
Somehow Lex managed to lace the water supply with kryptonite, the team got wind of it, and so they went to investigate.
Lena, now an integral part of the team, tagged along.
Alex, J’onn, Brainy, and Nia went first to make sure everyone was safe and that the kryptonite wouldn’t harm anyone, while also checking to see what kind of kryptonite it was and how it would affect Kara.
Kara and Lena are staying back at the town line. Waiting patiently. Some more than others.
“Will you please stop pacing? You’re stressing me out,” Lena rubs at her temples.
Kara stops mid-step, skidding on the loose gravel, and sighs. “I’m sorry. I’m just really anxious right now, and I’m scared of what they might find. I mean, what if—Eliza lives here! I can’t just—
“Hey,” Lena interrupts by placing both hands on Kara’s forearms. “It’ll be fine. Eliza isn’t even here. She’s out of town, remember?”
Kara lets out a deep breath and nods.
“Can I—Kara, can I give you a hug?” she asks, timidly. Lena won’t openly admit it, but Kara’s the only one she openly and freely gives hugs to. Anyone else and it’s touch and go.
Kara smiles, “Duh! You don’t even have to ask, you know that.” She wrangles her arms out from Lena’s hands and wraps her own around the CEO’s shoulders, burying her face in raven hair.
Lena grips her hands tightly around the hero’s back and inhales deeply, the sweet smell of honey and lavender from the blonde's shampoo, and the hint of earth which makes Kara, Kara.
The moment was quickly disrupted by a chirping in Kara’s ear. She steps back slightly so one arm is still resting on Lena’s shoulders while the other presses the comm. “Alex?”
Lena is moderately perturbed at Alex in this moment, but doesn’t let it show. Instead, she loosens her grip and slides her hands to rest on Kara’s hips, giving them a reassuring squeeze.
“You guys should head into town,” Alex supplies.
“What is it?” Kara asks while absentmindedly playing with Lena’s hair.
“Everything’s fine, but you’re gonna wanna see this for yourself.”
Kara frowns. “Okay, we’ll be there shortly.” She clears her throat and Lena eyes her warily.
“So?” Lena steps back and crosses her arms in front of her chest.
“Alex says she has something to show us,” Kara replies. “So,” she moved her arms in a swooping gesture, “Ready to go?”
Lena shakes her head. “No. We are not flying there.”
“Suit yourself,” Kara laughs and begins to take off. Lena stops her with a hand on the wrist before she can. “Change your mind?”
“Just promise to go slow,” Lena huffs, giving Kara permission to scoop her up bridal style.
“Yes, ma’am,” she smirks.
___
“Blue kryptonite?”
Alex nods.
“What is his endgame?”
Alex puffs her cheeks up and releases hot air. “It seems he wants to get rid of your powers. And apparently he thought starting here would be the best course of action, knowing you grew up here and you’d come this way. Fool proof plan, really.” A sudden serious look clouds over her. "And I have a feeling this is only the first step in his nefarious plans."
Kara groans, "Well, is everyone okay at least?" She puts her hands on her hips, in the classic hero pose.
"As far as we know, it doesn't have any negative effects on humans. In fact, we think it does the opposite."
"Of course!" Lena interjects from her spot. She's stayed quiet and let the sisters discuss things, until now she remembers information that could help.
"Lena?" Kara raises her eyebrows in question.
"When Lex was researching ways to hurt Superman, he discovered blue kryptonite," she rolls her eyes. "Blue kryptonite can drastically improve the health of any non-Kryptonian organism, such as livestock, crops, and humans. Continual consumption of blue kryptonite-irradiated water puts humans in a perfect state of health. I'm almost positive he's been drinking the stuff for years."
"Well, fuck," Alex huffs.
Lena shakes her head. "I wouldn't worry about it too much. It doesn't make him super-powered or anything. Actually, now that I think about it, the blue rock makes humans more prone to mental irregularities. If that's the case, it would explain a lot."
"Is there a way to counteract it?" Kara asks.
Lena sighs. "If I'm hypothesizing correctly, I'd bet my life on lead getting the job done."
Kara nods and looks to Alex. "Okay. You got all the rock bagged up then?" Alex nods. "How long until the water supply is back to normal?"
"A week? Maybe two. Just don't go drinking the water at mom's house, got it?"
"I'll stick to bottled," Kara smirks.
___
As they’re flying to Eliza's later that night, Kara notices her old high school is bustling with people and everyone is gussied up. She gasps loudly in Lena’s ear. “Lena, look!”
“What?”
“It’s prom night!” she slows down and finds a spot behind some bushes for cover. Once grounded she practically beams. “Let’s break in!"
Lena guffaws.
Kara stares at her with a gleaming twinkle in her eyes.
“Are you serious?” She asks incredulously.
Kara nods furiously like a bobble head. “Yeah, totally! I remember you telling me once how you never went to prom, and then I promised you if the opportunity ever arises I’d take you myself. And I'd dance with you.”
“You said no such thing,” Lena states, highly amused.
“Okay, well," Kara visibly flusters, "Maybe I never said that part out loud, but I still thought it in my head. And...I mean it.”
“Kara, that’s very sweet, but look at us,” she gestures between them, “I’m dressed like I’m ready for a board meeting, and you,” she glances around to make sure no one can see or hear them and whispers, “You’re Supergirl.”
Kara looks down and pouts, “Oh. Right.” It doesn’t keep her down for long though, because she speeds away and comes back in a dress before Lena can even blink.
“Wow. Don’t think I’ll ever get used to that,” Lena chuckles. “You didn’t think to grab anything for me?”
The hero frowns while looking Lena up and down with an intense gaze, causing Lena to feel immensely self-conscious. With a finger to her chin Kara says, “I think you look perfect. You’re basically wearing a suit, anyway, just one that probably costs more than anyone in that building can afford.”
Lena raises her eyebrows haughtily.
“Shall we?” Kara holds out her arm.
Lena rolls her eyes fondly, before relaxing, and hooks her arm through the blonde’s. “Alright, MacGyver, how are we doing this?”
“Easy,” Kara shrugs. “I’ll just open the door to the gym with my super strength, and sneak in the back. Piece of cake.”
“Famous last words.”
___
“Ha! Told you we could do it!” Kara exclaims as they make their way through the gym, where fairy lights are strewn about everywhere, and the ceiling is decorated with cheesy cotton drapes. Surprisingly, no one even notices the two women, and if they do they don’t care.
“The night is still young,” Lena points out.
“Oh quit being a downer,” Kara teases. As they find a secluded spot in the corner, a slow song starts to play. The lights cast a glow on Lena making her seem ethereal, and Kara gapes in awe.
"You look beautiful, Lena."
"I could say the same for you," she blushes.
“May I have this dance?” Kara playfully bends forward with one hand outstretched.
“You’re such a goober,” Lena laughs and takes her hand.
They slow dance for a while, the heat between them hanging in the air. As soon as Kara thinks about asking Lena the question that's been niggling her for the past few months, she notices a man poking around in the corner of her eye. He makes eye contact with her and begins making his way toward them. Kara panics.
“There’s a man coming our way. What do we do? He’s probably gonna kick us out!”
“Shit, I don’t know! This was your idea!” Lena hisses.
Kara thinks fast and makes a decision. A decision she never thought would happen, here in Midvale, in her high school gymnasium of all places. A decision that will inevitably change their lives forever.
“Do you trust me?”
“With my life,” Lena answers immediately, with a wistful smile plastered on her face.
Kara nods and takes a moment to compose herself. Just a tiny moment. Because they’re kind of running out of time here. Before she can second-guess herself, she takes Lena’s face in her hands and kisses her.
She kisses her like her life depends on it. She’s waited for this moment for so long and it’s finally here. At a high school prom she wasn't even invited to. The thought makes her want to laugh. But she can't, because she's kissing Lena. And Lena is kissing her back with just as much ferocity! It’s funny, she never imagined she’d be back here, years later, with the prettiest woman in the universe at her side, yet that’s what was in the cards for her.
When what feels like minutes of absolute heaven go by, Kara pulls back slightly, breathing heavy. She slowly opens her eyes and whispers, “Do you think it worked?”
“Excuse me?”
The voice startles them from their little bubble and makes the women jump apart in surprise.
"Gosh, you scared the crap outta me," Kara shudders, clutching at her heart. She gathers her wits and when she sees the man, realization slowly dawns on her. "Kenny?"
The man, presumably Kenny, frowns. "I'm sorry, do we know each other?"
"It's Kara. Kara Danvers!" she smiles with hesitancy. The gears in Kenny's head start turning and he puts his hands on his head in utter bewilderment.
"Kara!"
Being the tactile person she is, Kara envelops him in a bone crushing hug. When they pull back she asks, "What are you doing here?"
"I'm the principal," he replies bashfully. Kenny smirks and tilts his head. "What are you doing here?"
Kara blushes a deep red and clears her throat. "Um, well...I'm just visiting, actually." She adjusts her glasses awkwardly. "You know, see how everyone's doing since I left..."
"And who's this?" Kenny asks, peering behind her, effectively cutting off the inevitable ramble about to happen.
The blonde swallows. "Oh geez, where are my manners?" she bonks herself on the head and turns to Lena. Kara gently pushes her forward by the small of her back, and rests her hand there. "Lena, this is my friend Kenny from high school. Kenny, this is my....Lena..."
Lena chuckles and holds out her hand. “Lena Luthor. Nice to meet you.” His grip is firm when they shake hands.
“Pleasure’s all mine,” he replies.
Kara grins after seeing her former (dead?) best friend meet her current best friend (maybe more?) chat with one another.
She explains why they’re there and that they essentially snuck in.
“I won’t tell a soul. You have my word,” Kenny winks at them. “Keep in touch, yeah?” Kara nods enthusiastically, and gives him one last hug before departing to the other end of the gym, where he sees a student spiking the punch bowl.
"So..." Lena starts, "That's the Kenny you told me about?"
Lena notices Kara's eyes crinkle and one corner of her mouth lifts up, in that cute way it does when she's thinking deeply about something. "Yeah. He died though, in my timeline." She frowns, and her eyes dart around the floor like the cracks and scratches have all the answers. "This whole universe...reset...thing is mind-boggling."
Lena reaches up and rubs softly at Kara's little crinkle with the pad of her thumb. When it disappears, she drops her hand and plays with the blonde's fingers instead. "Nothing's ever easy in our lives, is it?"
Kara hums an affirmation in response.
"You can tell me about it, if you'd like," Lena offers.
"That'd be nice," Kara smiles, then like a flip of a switch she's throwing her a flirty smirk. "But not right now," she joins their other hands together and pushes them forward and back, as if they're on the cusp of telling each other exciting news.
"No?" Lena plays along.
"Nope," she raises their hands up so Lena's rest on her shoulders, and Kara pulls her forward by the waist. "I was kinda hoping we could talk about that kiss."
"Mhmm, I was wondering if you were gonna bring that up," she inches closer so her forehead touches Kara's, and she encircles her arms around her neck, the distance between them practically nonexistent.
"I should've asked," she connects her hands on the other woman's back.
Lena shakes her head, the action causing their noses to bump. "You never have to ask to kiss me." Before Kara can properly respond, Lena connects their lips together again, shutting her up in the best way possible.
They still have a lot of things to figure out, a lot of demons to fight-both literally and figuratively-but Lena relishes in the thought that at least she has Kara.
At least they're doing it together.
After all, it is their life motto: stronger together.
