most obviously: everything is a personal attack on him. EVERYTHING. you can see it most clearly at the birthday party; while everyone else is understandably freaking out about being laid off, jimmy starts telling curly off and insulting both him and everyone else at the table, as if being laid off is a personal attack on jimmy specifically. it doesn’t matter that anya has nothing to go back to, that swansea’s life is thrown away- jimmy is the ONLY victim here, apparently. curly is personally responsible for getting laid off, in his eyes.

i don’t actually know the words for this but the way he’s constantly going “i have to do EVERYTHING around here”- again, feeling like its a personal attack to be asked anything at all. anya asks him to take care of curly because her entire fucking life is falling apart, its her end of days, but somehow shes the villain for struggling.

also the general antagonization of anya. she’s extremely competent for the hand she was dealt! shes too poor to attend med school yet shes very knoqledgable in medication and wound care! and yeah no shit shes struggling now, someone she cared deeply about is suffering immensely and now the ship is being “run” by a man who assaulted her. no fucking shit shes breaking down. but jimmy makes it clear time and time again that this is somehow her fault, all this shit of “shouldn’t nurses EARN their titles?” while she’s having a mental breakdown.

similarly, swansea being villainized for holding the cryopod for daisuke and killing him. like, i get it, but jimmy’s whole thing of saying he can fix daisuke is… c’mon man. he’s a hero to himself, he “always” fixes things the same way he “fixed” the ship, and he will fix daisuke and claim heroism even though it’s very clear nothing else can be done for him.

“someday you’ll thank me” while forcing curly to eat his own leg. the incredible confidence that he is in the right even when literally torturing someone.

MOST IMPORTANTLY: the final scene with curly burning. jimmy doesn’t earnestly believe he has anything to be sorry for. even when apologizing to curly he says “we can BOTH be heroes!” despite everything, he still thinks he’s in the right. he STILL thinks he’s a hero, because he’s right, he’s ALWAYS right, surely. he can apologize and grovel all he wants but in the end he still thinks he’s the hero of this story; he doesn’t genuinely think he has anything to right, he’s only doing this to be freed of consequence. and/or believes a simple “sorry” is enough, that it can fix completely ruining the lives of four people with his own inferiority complex.

i do think the choice to put curly in the pod instead of himself is the only time he recognizes his own guilt, if any. maybe it’s realizing that he DOES need something more than a simple “sorry” to even begin to try to fix things, maybe it’s that he thinks this will cement him even further as a hero. even then, does this fix anything? all it’s doing is making curly suffer more. is this actually a good thing?

to him, he’s the hero here. he always is. crashing the ship is a heroic thing, putting all his crewmates through hell is a heroic thing. all because something nobody can control is somehow a personal attack on jimmy.

not to mention all the “hallucinations” he has- it’s what he thinks should happen, it’s what he wants to hear. curly still calling him a friend, the dead corpses of his crewmates praising him, even in the final cutscene with curly burning where he says “no, YOU take the pod”. none of it’s real. it’s just what jimmy thinks is “right”. despite everything, he thinks everyone should thank and praise him, because he can do no wrong.

conclusion: jimmy is a narcisstic piece of shit.

i am so completely exasperated with Laudna as of the latest episode. however, i temper that exasperation with my enjoyment as a viewer; indeed, i am feasting on the conflict, thinking finally, some good fucking food, because i think (and have always thought) that Laudna is terrifically interesting as a character and she presents wonderful opportunities for growth not only on her end, but as a catalyst for others.

that being said. the sword. how she handled it. how she handled her own trauma bubbling up, how she handled (or didn't) Delilah, how she handled Orym and Chetney and Dorian and the whole miserable mess she made.

it was selfish. there. i said it. you may disagree with me, i care not, but her course of action was terribly selfish and destructive.

i know many people out there have been likening her behaviour to that of an addict's (and there are many common factors there: the hiding, the lying by omission, the shame, the acquiescence to bad behaviour), but i think in some ways that to do so is reductive, and also removes agency from Laudna herself.

she is allowing her trauma to almost make her decisions for her, allowing it to define her, and she is not giving herself the opportunity to realise that growth beyond it is possible--or, perhaps, she does realise this and is simply too afraid to reach out and grasp it. i think even if Delilah weren't trying to subsume her, Laudna would still be self-sabotaging and self-destructive and still try to hide the parts of her she felt were undesirable; Delilah in many ways simply makes it easier for Laudna to do so and, if pressed, provides a rationalisation for Laudna's choices and actions (as in 'it wasn't me, it was her, she made me do it).

first and foremost, Laudna was a victim of heinous trauma, being murdered and then being put on grotesque display. then she was further traumatised in coming back from the dead and being forced to isolate herself from people for many years, with only Delilah's honeysweet venom dripping into her ear for that time. then she is murdered again as an object lesson for the woman she loves, then stuffed down so deep into her own psyche by the one who first killed her; she is fought for and brought back by her friends...who then seem to do little to check in with her, to make sure she is stable, or coping, because they each have their own baggage and oh by the way, the world is possibly ending. to be fair, there is little time for therapy and stability when you are literally running from crisis to crisis and trying to stop something you haven't even conceived of in your nightmares.

she feels dismissed, often, minimised, and she never developed healthy people skills or coping mechanisms (i am sorry but as much as i love Pâté, a dead rat does not a support group make). so she lashes out, has poor emotional regulation, and Does Crappy Things. so i also understand when she said 'what else have i to give, but myself?'

all that being said. what she did with Orym and the sword was fucking selfish. she is behaving like a child, as if she is the only one whose tragedies matter; she's playing Oppression Olympics, and can i just point out that Orym was the one to say 'i'm sorry' but Laudna never apologised for accosting him while he slept and hurting him? saying 'i didn't mean to hurt you' is not the same, because that implies that if she had not hurt him, stealing from him was perfectly acceptable and reasonable.

i don't believe her when she said 'i accept responsibility' because that means one must accept the consequences of their own actions, and right after she said that, she argued with everyone, told the oldest member of the Hells that he had no right to talk about loss to her, and then fled. that isn't accepting responsibility; that is mouthing platitudes in the hopes you will sway others to your point of view and when it fails, leaving in a huff like a child having a tantrum.

she didn't even bother to ask Orym why he kept the sword. she just tried to take.

Laudna often reacts from a place of fear: of pain, of more trauma, fear of inadequacy, of loss. all of these fears are valid. they are understandable, given all that has happened to her. but just because her fears are valid does not give her the right to make others pay for her emotional baggage. this is what makes her behaviour in ep 95 selfish. all of her actions in the back half of that episode are things she chose to do, and now she must sit in the mess she made. Laudna seems to be falling into the same mental rut that many victims fall into when their trauma isn't dealt with in a healthy fashion: they start fucking others over, as if being a victim excuses it. it does not.

and before others come for me, i say that as one who used to do the same fucking thing but i was lucky enough to have therapy. Laudna doesn't have that luxury--none of the Hells do. there simply isn't time to make space for any of their issues, not just Laudna's. Imogen is still wrestling with her mother; Fearne is wrestling with her parentage; Orym is just trying to keep his feet under him and do what he feels is right without betraying anyone he cares for (yes, including Laudna, shut up); Ashton is still trying to process the loss of Fresh Cut Grass (for gods' sakes, the crafting night was a fucking wake for the lil guy); Dorian just lost his brother and watched his friend succumb to a Betrayer God that turned her into a monster; and Chetney? Chetney is an old man who, i personally think, can pick his battles and knows how to compartmentalise better than any of these kids.

Laudna is not unique in that she has suffered horribly. no one is saying she hasn't, but her behaviour implies that she believes they are saying that. her actions imply she believes not only that she does not trust her friends (thanks, Dorian), but that acknowledging others' losses somehow negates hers. there just isn't time to healthily process any of this, which sucks. it does. i do think her friends love her, care for her deeply, and i think part of the reason they haven't checked up on her as much as they could is because a) they're afraid that her problem with Delilah is much worse than they thought (duh, it is); b) they can't fix the Delilah Problem right now even if they were qualified to do so (even Pike couldn't scour that bitch out of Laudna, she said as much); and c) they run the very substantial risk of wholly alienating Laudna if they press the issue too hard, thus not only losing an asset in the fight against the Vanguard and Ludinus, but also a friend and lover.

it's shit, all around, we all know that. but to pretend that it's okay she did what she did to Orym--or worse, somehow transfer responsibility from her onto him and make it his fault--is infantilising and disingenuous at best, and more than a little insulting.

WIBTA if I told my mom to stop bringing her sickness into every single conversation?

My (17F) mom has been sick for the last year or so. Its nothing terminal or excessively bad, just the consequences of some poor choices on her behalf regarding things like birth control, diet and medication. Picking things she knows makes her sick, eating poorly even though she knows it makes her feel worse, ect.

Still. She's sick, and I've been sympathetic and as supportive as I can be while she goes through this vicious cycle of trying to get better. I do feel pretty bad for her because some days you can tell she's really not feeling good at all.

However. My mom also has...You could say not the best grasp on boundaries or what is actually appropriate or even welcome in general conversation. She has a habit of wanting everything to know everything. I've grown up hearing all about her sex life and her periods and her breast augmentation and what not.

More than once I've had to tell her that literally nobody at the dinner table wants to hear about how her period is coming out in chunky globs, but usually she just acts victimised and goes off about how she can never say anything and how its a totally normal, natural thing.

Which, sure. But also. Its not really what I want to hear when staring at a bowl of salsa.

And with her being sick and all the wonderful bodily things that come with that, my god, its gotten worse. And she will tell literally anyone about it.

The cashier at the grocery store now knows my mom hasn't taken a solid poop in a year. My best friends came over for dinner the other night and one of the literal first things my mom starts telling them about is how her period is so heavy she's flooding everywhere and how horrible it is.

At my doctor's appointment the other day I sat there for 20 minutes listening to my mom talk about her raw nipples and how her breasts feel like hot rocks.

I literally cannot take it anymore. I don't think there's been a single conversation or even day where my mom hasn't gone on about some form of frankly gross bodily function that I would happily live my life perfectly oblivious to.

I get she's sick. I get that it sucks. I understand that sometimes you just want to vent.

But honestly. I just want to tell her that if I have to hear about her poops or her breasts or her period again I will gouge my own eardrums out with a spork and I will wear blackout glasses so even if she learns sign language to keep going, I simply won't see it.

Obviously, I'd be more gentle about asking her to tone it down or cut it out. Hell, I'd probably even try to find her a friend to talk to it about just so it doesn't have to be me.

But like. Is it too rude? I know being sick and periods and what not are natural, but honestly, its been years of this and I really feel like no kid should know what vibrator their mom prefers and what the current consistency of her period is.

Even though you hit the nail right on the head about Puppet and her actions, I fear some people are more mad at EAPS Sun than they would be at her. I can sort of get it, but not really?

Yeah... I can totally understand. People usually hate characters who are annoyed more than the one who literally murdered and slaughtered tons of innocent victims. (*Cough*cough* Bloodmoon, Eclipse)

And not to offend, but with people like Puppet, they just love to see how she keeps Girl boss to win and being overpowering with anything, and they don't care whether her actions hurt anyone's feelings or not.

Sunrise is selfish for sure. And I would gladly see if Sunrise and Moondrop are working together to change these circumstances they are forced to be in. But like I say, god forbid if a Sun wants to be selfish without being criticized.

Not only Puppet and Eclipse force their way into fixing Sunrise and Moondrop (good for Moondrop I guess), they also belittled and well... Bullied Sun a lot. Like they respect Moondrop, but with Sun? They treated him like some spoiled hypocritical brat, for the things he couldn't control.

And I know alot of people think Sunrise is annoying and feels awful for Moondrop, but for me, it really feels like some kind of fanfic for Eclipse to be the protagonist on his way to heal himself and resolve and make friends with Moondrop, with Sunrise is the main antagonist.

They keep pushing the idea Sun is the bad one while he just tried to get some sense control for himself.

And don't forget he is really enthusiastic about the idea they are separated. Which means, if they have the patience to talk to Sun without letting their hatred, their annoying getting in their way, I am sure this Sunrise is willing to listen.

But NOOooo, they have to make Sunrise the bad guy. Because, you need to love people who hurt you. And it is wrong for you to not forgive them if they don't mean to do their harm for you or if it is just an accident.

Every action has consequences. Sure Moondrop doesn't want to be in Sun's head, and it really sucks for both of them, especially for Moondrop who couldn't get out. But he still hurts Sun, and he knows it too.

(And I don't blame him for feeling bitter, but still, this is his actions leading to the consequences. Sun still feels pain and any wrong Moondrop did could hurt Sun physically the most. We may feel mercy for a bear if it is dead. But if the bear killed your family, can you still forgive it, even if it doesn't know anything?)

So I am not blaming Sunrise for being selfish, because he is still freshly made, he didn't know better. Like when you touch fire and it burns your hand, you will never want to touch it again. Sun doesn't know who Moon is, and like Eclipse says, sure Sun has seen some of Moon's memories, but let's think really carefully about it. Moondrop still has Killcode, which means, he still killed kids, or invaders. So Sunrise must see it too.

Imagine you see some visions of your hands reapping someone's throat, not a pretty view.

And this really affects how the viewers see Our Sun. Because right now, literally, people justify how our Sun was treated before.

They keep saying Our Sun was so annoying, and poor Moon, and because Our Sun is refusing to share, leading Moon went crazy and made Sun's life a living hell.

Which is not true. Sun was freshly made like Sunrise too, but he tried to listen to Moon, and even after the attempt tortured of Moon, he still willingly gave Moon a chance to become brother, to be better.

It just... We finally have people's sympathy for Sun after so long, having them finally acknowledged that Sun was treated like shit.

But with this new dimension, everything turned back to round 1. Sun is a coward bullied meanie for Moon and we should feel happy to see him suffer.

The different morality systems at play within my own works is always really interesting to me. Cause like, it’s not the action itself, it’s how it’s framed.

Like, I’m just thinking about how despised and villainous MFR Philza is for his everything, but he never physically hurts Techno, unlike how Lambs ”sbi” bruise, bloody, poison, starve, nearly murder Lambs Philza and are still sympathetic. Just like MFR Philza, “sbi” also harm their victim’s loved ones, given MFR Piglin’s kidnapping/torture and Lambs Sbi kidnapping/murder. Lambs “sbi” also kill a lot of people, similar to MFR Phil’s Nether Massacre. And yet, the narrative weight is different, and we’re supposed to root for Lambs “sbi” bonding with Lambs Phil.

MFR Philza’s all encompassing surveillance to protect everyone is treated as a horrific violation of privacy with long lasting psychological consequences. Fault Tubbos’ all encompassing surveillance to protect everyone is treated as common sense. Both are dealing with actual massive threats. Fault’s threat is literally guaranteed to be non lethal in a way MFRs isn’t, even! Or in another direct comparison, both MFR and Fault Philza commit horrible massacres that leave Techno/Tommy (respectively) traumatized and convinced escape is impossible and at least a little catatonic. And both Phils are considered bad because of it, but unlike MFR, Fault Philza can come back from that. It’s considered a mistake that he can apologize for and they can move on from, because in Fault death doesn’t have quite the same weight. Sure it deviates from the pure action schlock of its genre by having some consideration for it, but giant death tolls are still normalized. Hell, Fault Tommy has killed like crazy but he’s poor little meow meow’d about it!

Perhaps it’s the culpability of it? Fault Tommy was heavily coerced into doing lots of murder. MFR Philza had a lot of agency in the Nether massacre, but Fault Philza’s Amnestic massacres are far more dubious given his sanity was being chemically bleached away. Lambs “sbi” don’t have the background context to actually understand typical morality, and so readers treat them far more sympathetically compared to MFR Philza who should have a modern morality system. Or what about Altars Techno, who LITERALLY EATS ORPHANS AND HAS FOR CENTURIES? And yet we just kinda gloss over that, potentially because gods in Altars are controlled and shaped by their worshipers, and so it’s unclear how much agency he had in the sacrifices (or in stopping them; again, was that a choice Altars Techno made? Or did Altars Tommy make that for him by his more innocent worship dictating it?). Or Fault Tommy kidnaps Techno like constantly, because he can’t control summonings, or Weight in Gold Philza is a giant bird so we forgive him for kidnapping Techno because he was only intending to eat him, but when MFR and Lords! Phils do it, it’s suddenly reprehensible?

Could be reader attachment to characters, since again moral weight is warped in fiction so it’s up to if it harms the reader. The MFR Nether massacre hits more than Fault’s Hallway massacre because the reader knows the characters being killed, compared to Fault’s faceless corpses. And then we only knew MFR Blaze and Squidkid like a chapter, compared to Fault Rosalind being there the entire first epoch before being brutally murdered by Tubbo. And she’s not even actually dead, but that’s treated with massive weight compared to multiple characters known a short amount of time, compared to hundreds npcs.

I think a lot of it is the ‘sell’. Like in a fake wrestling match, where the impact of the heel is determined by how much the target is supposedly hurt. Since it’s fiction right, it’s all artifice, we only care so much as the protagonists do. When MFR Techno goes absolutely catatonic for weeks after the Nether massacre, when he spends the entire rest of MFR in its shadow- that more than anything gives those deaths weight. Or within Fault itself, where Fault Philza is despised by Fault Tubbo because they watched him murder a bunch of people, but (like the readers) are far more forgiving of Fault Tommy’s murders because they like him and haven’t really been impacted by them (happen mostly off screen). And hell, for Weight in Gold Techno and Kristin and Phil doing a bunch of terrorism and murder is a bonding activity!

Like. This is why just stating war crimes lists or whatever doesn’t always tell you if the character is considered good or not, because it depends so much on the tone, genre, context, and character reactions. One story’s irredeemable villain is another’s protagonist’s Tuesday, you feel me?

Hi anon ☺️ honestly, I think I’m just underwhelmed like there were definitely things I liked and things I didn’t like at all but I’m just like….

For the things I liked:

I loved that we got Shouto asking Touya what his favourite food is, and it almost seeming like Touya wouldn’t answer but he did. Shouto’s “same” was cute, and his face seemed so bright! My two boys are soba loving lads 😭 I wish we got to see them share a bowl!

I loved that Touya was able to cry and he apologised to Shouto, even though technically it most likely wasn’t heard by Shouto but I loved that nonetheless!

I’m so happy that Natsuo’s choice is to go no-contact with Enji, because 1) I love consistency, and it fits with his character and 2) it’s a great show of how choosing to move on and cut contact from someone who hurt you, especially a parent is valid and understandable! The Todoroki family has shown many valid ways of handling abuse/trauma, choosing to forgive, or to not to forgive etc. I also appreciate/love that Enji accepts and understands Natsuo’s decision, he didn’t push any boundaries or undermine Natsuo love it!

I really love Shouto’s talk about his friends being there to support him, and how he is going to become the man that he wants to be!

The things I didn’t like:

Enji reiteration of “I’m going to atone/I’m going to face the consequences for the rest of my life” speeches 🥱 it’s all grand hearing your still going to atone and whatnot, but we’ve heard this before like I’m not trying to hate I just don’t care to hear it anymore! Do appreciate your understanding of Natsuo’s feelings tho!

Touya is slowly dying 😭 but that’s a no brainer of course I’m not going to like that!

That Natsuo didn’t speak a word to Touya, and all we got was “we wanna talk too” from Rei and Fuyumi to Touya 🙃 like good it sets up the idea that they’ll visit him to talk but like…..wow!

Rei’s lack of care for Shouto, and by that I mean in Shouto’s small speech before he departs from them is a call back to her words of comfort to him, and her response is….talking to Enji about how even in hell he has people supporting/watching him as his sidekicks(my eyes rolled into the back of my head seeing that Onima is alive still 🙄) and his driver coming to pick them up, as well as Hawks texting him! P.s I’m not saying Rei doesn’t care for Shouto or doesn’t love him but I just wished she acknowledged him or something!

That Fuyumi got scars 😭 my poor girl, and losing her job but at least she got a new one thanks to a friend!

Natsuo’s haircut 🙃 I’m sorry but it’s ugly, like god damn it Touya you gave all the girls beautiful hairstyles but your barber skills failed you here with Natsuo!

It was an alright chapter, I do wish it was centred around the Todofam completely. Instead of having Hawks and Nagant at the end, but it is what it is! Plus in a way I guess we kinda need them to appear in order for the shift of characters into the next chapter!

snapped neck: 6/10. ok. not good, not bad, well-deserved, timeless, impactful. i love the way thawne is still complaining about that one though.

flashpoint: 9/10. imagine becoming a living paradox and proceeding to rant about how your speedster nemesis cant hurt you now (very normal way to put it btw.) only to be pierced by a fucking sword. dumb and classic, all good here.

the button: 100/10 THE DUMBEST DEATH OF THEM ALL AND MY ALL TIME FAVORITE. also a classic, imagine being told multiple times that youre going to die and fucking carry on like youre the Smartest here and nothing could ever happen to you and actually ima adopt you barry. thawne's character at its finest.

running scared: 8/10. not bad. ironic last words and 'on my life i swear' about the promise he intended to break all along. once again, dead because he couldnt shut the fuck up and look around him. iris, my beautiful tired of thawne's shit queen, I STAN.

the flash cw season 1: 5/10. dont remember it much asides from being totally pointless as it has 0 effect on thawne's existence further and our beloved Genius of Time Travel, who can Calculate Every Single Timeline Consequence To His Actions revealing his fucking name to his ancestor and bullying him into murder by suicide.

legends of tomorrow season 2: 10/10. love this one. top 10 reverse-flash moments. my dude got together like 15 other versions of himself for each to do practically fucking nothing other than to group pose and die. an honorable mention: poor black flash who got called a monster just for trying to do his timeline protection job and who endured all of thawne's shit only for it to turn out completely pointless as well. then again if you think about it, everything that happens in cw is pointless.

the flash cw season 6: 2/10. does that even count as a death. makes zero fucking sense. 2 points only for thawne being a total loser and resembling negaduck's 'crisis on infinite darkwings' death.

suicude squad: hell to pay: 10/10. i gave this 10 points already just for his last words 'fuck my life'. again, DOESNT KNOW HOW TO SHUT THE FUCK UP WHICH GETS HIM KILLED. thawne believing in the afterlife in the first place feels out of character to me though.

finish line: 0/10. it was very hard to waste a character like that without even realizing it AFTER WRITING HIM WITH SUCH A DEEP UNDERSTANDING BEFORE but you've done it, williamson ⭐

legends of tomorrow season 7: 7/10. very balanced death, little bit of thawne having zero fucking braincells, little bit of meaning. not even complaining about the concept, silly little domesticated rat doing his silly little job of preserving the timeline. i approve.

jurassic league: 10/10. first i suggest we just stop and think for a moment about the fact that we got a DINOSAUR THAWNE in a list of deaths. second THIS PREHISTORIC DUMPLING GOT FUCKING EATEN. third insert an extinction pun. perfect understanding of thawne being a fucking joke of a character and meme potential.

flashpoint beyond: 12/10. did NOTHING in the plot. meant NOTHING for the plot. just spawned as a corpse and looked pretty in the morgue (10 points already purely for The Page) and i respect that. 1 more point for the button encore and another to martha wayne. thank you for your service queen, we'll never forget your impact on this one.

knight terrors: the flash: 8/10. this mf lasted exactly 3 pages. neat but a bit sad if you think about it. not only got killed unprovokedly but his precious museum he just tried to protect got damaged as well. didnt even get to finish neither the tour or his point about barry not being able to wake up (again, only tried to help in a way by that?). also i like the way he's once again a creation of barry's subconsciousness acting suspiciously fruity.

i absolutely hate Glimmer, and not just because of s4.

she was a terrible person from the start and i'll get into why.

i'm going to get into her relationship with Angella another time, because that is a whole mess in of itself [ because of Glimmer ], and deserves its own post.

anyway, Glimmer:

undermines her supposed best friend's [ Bow ] abilities for no reason and doesn't give an actual apology [ her admittance to being wrong also seems really reluctant and annoyed to me ].

has an issue with Bow having friends for some reason, even though this was never brought up in any way before, and uses Adora as a prop to show just how much better fun she's having [ yeah, obsessing over your best friend daring to have fun with someone that isn't you is totally having fun ]. and then when Bow tries to talk to her about, she expects him to apologize [ yes, i know she does apologize for this later, but i hate how she even thinks of this in the first place ].

projects her own insecurities onto her ma like crazy while constantly, constantly going behind angella's back for no fucking reason and being ridiculously reckless, but then whining about how her ma doesn't see her as capable [ this sounds like a familiar cat... ].

this isn't specifically about Glimmer, but it just annoys me how literally almost no one actually helps Adora with Catra constantly harassing and assaulting the poor girl until she's about to die or get kidnapped, like what the hell?

'Ties That Bind' is another episode that was a complete waste of time and did nothing but paint how annoying and asshole-y Catra, Glimmer, and even Bow, unfortunately, are.

'Roll With It' Glimmer [ and everyone else, but Glimmer's a streak atp ] can actually kiss my ass, because this is not what you do in a war or when someone is having a panic attack about someone trying to kill them and everyone else.

no one talks to Adora about White Out. ever. what kinda friends are you?

Glimmer continues undermining Angella and doing stupid ass shit, like letting Shadow Weaver power her up [ yes, this could've been an arc and, maybe, about one where Glimmer would eventually understand what Adora had gone through, but that didn't happen, and she put pretty much everyone in danger by trusting SW. and yes, i'm aware Glimmer apologized to Angella in the fake reality thing, but i don't buy it ] and leaves her ma with the belief that she's a coward [ when Angella's one of the most logical characters out of the cast ].

i'm tired of people saying that Glimmer was manipulated by SW in s4, and that's why she let SW walk whenever she wanted, when in previous seasons, Glimmer has repeatedly brought up how manipulative the woman is and WATCHED HER TRY TO WIPE ADORA'S MIND. Glimmer has no excuse other than doing it just because she wants to and think her rights are of no consequence.

i don't care what people say, Glimmer's plan was stupid. either the planet would die, or they would win. if they were [ realistically ] pushed into a corner, then maybe i can see that being an option they would have to consider. but Glimmer is clearly a 'my way or the highway' kind of person and doesn't even bother listening to her supposed best friends.

manipulates Adora into trusting her with the "i know you don't trust Shadow Weaver [ reasonably. and why do you trust her? she gave you power? ooohhh, wow, it's not like anybody else in your family could've have done that ], but can't you trust me" bullshit. like, wow. honestly wow. the audacity if you.

'Mer-Mysteries' and 'Boy's Night' Glimmer can actually get kicked in the nards. "she was acting" yeah, duh, but did y'all forget that it was heavily implied ( by DT and the expressions on both of her and Adora's faces ) that they were at least somewhat speaking from the heart, and Adora was genuinely hurt when Glimmer said the most inane bullshit i have ever heard [ seriously, her and Catra could be buddies at this point ] by implying Adora wanted to be SW's favorite?

blames her for Angella's death. "she realized she was wrong almost immediately aft-" guess what? still doesn't take it back. especially since Adora watched her die.

uses abuse of power via using her Queen status to prevent Adora and Bow from leaving Brightmoon to rescue Entrapta [ and insults the grown ass woman while she's at it ], and it's really obvious that it was because they told her she's wrong [ and she is ]. because she goes to Light Hope with the intention of proving Adora wrong.

uses Scorpia's insecurities to get her to use the Black Garnet. Catra literally did the same thing in Princess Prom.

SURPRISE, SURPRISE, the entire planet is about to die and the Princesses are getting injured by Glimmer's stupid ass decision that her best friends literally told her would have severe consequences.

manages to avoid severe consequences because even though the world nearly died, there's no civilians to criticize her and rightfully hate her for what she did.

i hate her apology to Adora, not only because it's shoddy at best, but also because Adora immediately forgives her [ like Catra ], even though she was deeply hurt by what Glimmer said and did [ like Catra ].

I HATE HER CONVERSATION WITH BOW. it sounds like she's allowing him to be angry for, idk, nearly destroying the world and pretty much giving out the location of Etheria to Horde Prime, and then she's immediately rewarded with his forgiveness. fuck off.

instead of consoling Adora for being frustrated with Catra after she risked her life to save the ungrateful little shit, Glimmer instead borderline defends her [ or at least undermines Adora's anger ] by going "lol, did you think she'd become a different person after we risked our lives saving her 🤪".

Glimmer and Bow are Catra's ass-kissers now. shocker. and they don't take anything seriously anymore unless the plot calls for it. also shocker.

why does she say [ in the Heart 1 episode ] "it isn't going to work"??? like, it kinda sounds like she'd consider it. which, if you do, just say that atp.

and, just like catra, says Adora left them.

that's not all she did, obviously, and i know she's like this because of the show, yada yada, but i just really hate her.

i keep thinking about my Dsaf and Fnaf crossover. specifically, in regards to Charlotte Emily and how she’d react to the Dsaf cast.

she was murdered on her twelfth birthday by a man she considered her uncle. she was left in an alley, dying alone. she was forced to watch her friends die and not be able to do Anything to save them. she spent decades just trying to find a way to free them all and put them to rest.

she's gone through so much.

and i think that'd make her interactions with the Dsaf Cast very interesting:

i feel like she'd try and comfort Dee to the best of her ability. she knows, from experience, how horrible of a job that it is to basically be the guardian of the souls. mix that in with the fact that Dee is basically half her age...it saddens her, makes her concerned for what this poor child has been forced to witness. add onto to that, the fact that Charlie's only had to do that for eleven children, while Dee's been forced to do this for dozens upon dozens...what on Earth has this six-year-old witnessed?

she sees Jack doing what she's also been tasked with: save the souls, put them to rest. she sees a man with a tired look in his eyes, reminding her of Michael, and she can't help but feel sympathy for him. from what she saw with Dee...it seems the universe they came from was rather hectic. maybe she'd give him encouragement. she's seen an older brother, desperate to fix his mistakes and free his siblings, even if it would cost him his own life in the end. this is hard work, after all. she would know.

i feel like she'd get along with Dave. she sees a version of Uncle Will who was willing to fix his mistakes, like, legitimately trying. she's always sensed William's regret, but he'd never admit it. he'd rather have Cassidy kill him over and over than admit that he'd done anything wrong. it's almost...refreshing, in a sense, to see some version of him willing to fix things. she'd be a bit wary, obviously...but he's got...okay-ish vibes.

Jungkook loves and I don't have a problem with the way he loves. Like let's not get it twisted. He probably loves hard between the two. But loving someone and relating with someone are two different things.

And I feel that's were many people lose the plot when it comes to those two.

Jimin is extremely brilliant and relating to people. He has all the right emotional skills to relate with people. I'm just gonna say Jungkook is a bit lacking in that department so he can come off as aloof to some people.

But that doesn't in no way shape or form negate the love they each have for the other. Like I have no doubt on my mind Jimin and Jungkook love eachother.

And I know Jimin is confident in Jungkook's love towards them and more importantly he's confident in his own emotional skills to help them relate well in their relationship.

And listen, my guy, Jimin will choose his dynamic with Jungkook and perhaps has more confidence in the potential of a successful relationship with Jungkook than he has in Taehyung for example.

He's willing to forgive and Jungkook is willing to be told what he needs to do no matter how stubborn he may be.

I've learned and grown so much from their dynamic and in a perfect world I want to be like Jimin but right now Jungkook is where am at and if I sink low I'm a Taehyung 💀

I've seen TikToks where people dunk on Rollo and Honest Fellow, and others, mainly in the Spanish and JP fandoms, being confused about this reaction. To play devil's advocate, the main reason is how the game handled them and that they're poorly written characters. I can pinpoint a few reasons why that is...

Honest Fellow: His motivations to make him sympathetic and his actions are at odds with one another.

In that arc, Honest Fellow gleefully turns people into puppets to sell off to the highest bidder, even hinting at some people using them for sexual pleasure in the JP version. Why is he doing this? Because the school system is hard and he wants to get back at rich people. Yes, really. That's one of the dumbest villain motivations I ever heard! How does that justify what he did or put his actions into perspective? He's a human trafficker! By making the reason why he's doing this something so disconnected from the story makes him seem like a sociopathic monster on par with the Coachman. It's like if someone murdered your pet and said they did that because had a hard time in school. That's horrible, but that has nothing to do with that action nor does that make you like that more any more.

(Personally, if I was writing this arc, I would've made his boss the TWST Coachman, who is threatening to turn Giddel into a puppet if he doesn't do what he says. That makes far more sense, and makes his actions more understandable. I think a lot of us had shitty bosses that forced us to do things we disagreed with or would do a horrible act to protect a loved one. It makes him more like his movie counterpart due to Honest John and Gideon being threatened by the Coachman to convince Pinocchio to come to Pleasure Island, despite Honest John thinking it was fucked up. Idk, that's just me.)

Rollo: While he's better written than Honest Fellow due to his motivations at least making sense, he's still not the best written character either. Shitty and lazy character name aside, being a woobie and not adapting the character in a...questionable manner.

A woobie, for those of you who don't know, is an older fandom term used to describe bland pretty characters with a tragic backstory that the author expects you to feel sorry for them and get away with everything. Oh, boy. Does he fit that definition in spades. He's pretty bland. His only real standout personality traits are that he hates magic and the fae, prideful, traditional and possibly athletic. That's it. He has a sad backstory where his brother died in a fire after his magic got out of control. Fine, that's cliche, but it works. Hell, it's kinda clever in a sense where it's inspired by the Hunchback of Notre Dame off-broadway musical. Characters like Idia point out the hypocrisy in Rollo's ideology and that he is really doing this thanks to his own guilt for his brother's death, which is a good thing. The problem is, outside of him being boring as a character, that despite wanting to suck out all of the magic in the world, he got away with it scott free, and his only form of "punishment" was living with the guilt of knowing everyone thinking that he was some sort of hero…despite Malleus wanting revenge on him five minutes earlier. (I don't get it either.) I think a lot of this problem plays into a reoccurring one the game has a whole—the character stagnation and Yana's utter unwillingness to let them face any consequences for their actions. Rollo is also prejudice against the fae if him covering his nose whenever he's around one is to be concerned, which is also never addressed.

I think the way he was handled was in poor taste. Frollo is one of the most realistic villains in the Disney canon and is triggering to a lot of westerners due to his ties with the Catholic church. Unlike the other Great Seven, there's no way to possibly turn his story to make him seem like a hero nor are their any admirable traits. The fact of the matter is that by making Noble Bell honoured after Frollo, who is such a realistic character and is tied up in a lot of religious baggage for westerners, the game is glorifying his actions to an extent. While I know Christianity is a minor religion in Japan, so adding Christian elements to "spice things up" is common in anime, the developers know that the game is being distributed internationally and should've known better. The game should've made Rollo like the staff where he has no dorm or school honoured after his counterpart. That would've lessened the impact a lot.

Both of them: Like I said with Rollo, they completely get away with their crimes, despite everything they did. That is asinine. All actions have punishments, and that goes for them. Plus, the NRC boys are based on villains! Wouldn't they want to exact their revenge on them, especially in Honest Fellow's case who wanted to turn them into living household items and sex dolls! You are based on villains, act like it!

(This is also a huge problem with the game as a whole, but I wrote other posts about that before, so I don't wanna get into it here.)

So, yeah. There reasons why many English speaking fans dislike or despise these characters. Hell, if anything the reason why they are so beloved in JP and Spanish fandom circles is more bizarre to me. I get it. Honest Fellow is hot. But outside of that...Really? So I guess it goes both ways and we can be baffled at each other's choices. xD

My good stockholder in HASDAQ (Hell’s Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations), the moment I announce that my poorly bred og Kaitos are for public sale, Konami will burst through my office in hell and confiscate all of them (Yes, they have people in hell…it is a corporation, after all). I cannot sell them to you even if I wanted to.

Due to my insistence on breeding and hoarding sickly Kaitos, I have become a pariah in the bishie breeding (BB, for short) community.

Yes, these new healthier Kaitos are very aesthetically displeasing. However, if you truly love Kaitos, you would buy a newer one for the sake of his health.

Another note, my Kaitos have a shelf life of maybe 7-8 days. I don’t think they are even worth purchasing. You may as well buy yourself a pack of organic strawberries, since they look and last about the same.

I wish you luck on your quest to find og Kaitos. I also hope you are prepared to handle the consequences that come with the og Kaito’s poor health.

Getting back into my shenanigans and a 'Dagur working through prison trauma w/ Hiccup' fic reminded me of an old angsty idea @reallyprofoundkryptonite and I had for the Kin All the Same AU. Also nutmeg idea inspired by that one @evilwriter37 Heather fic. (I'm almost certain it was one of their fics at least-)

The last few weeks have been... Hell, to put it lightly. The panic of Magnus' initial disappearance, followed by the anger and fear of learning he'd been taken by Grimmel, and then the fight to get him back. A fight that was doomed to be a bloodbath from the second the hunter dared lay his hands on Magnus. For rather obvious reasons, in retrospect. No sane person, or person even vaguely aware of the consequences, would reasonably try. And for good reason.

Viggo, Dagur, and Krogan saw Magnus as their own. They'd worked together to raise the boy, and they didn't tolerate their son so much as being insulted. Dagur has thrown men overboard for challenging what Magnus says in regards to the dragons he handled. He's struck a few idiots with an axe for suggesting the boy be used as 'stress relief' during some particularly rough weeks at sea. Krogan has outright killed a few men, his own flyers and Viggo's hunters alike, for similar reasons. One poor bastard thought it would be funny to grab the boys chest once. There wasn't enough left of him to even throw to the fishes, and Krogan's clothes were soaked in so much blood you'd believe they had always been that red. Viggo, ever the voice of reason (about 90% of the time at least), was less violent. But he's still fired men on the spot for making the wrong comment, even jokingly, about Magnus.

The battle, the raid of Grimmel's camp, had been a gory mess. A vague plan of action, but endless violence otherwise. Men had been ripped apart like paper or gutted like fish. Broken bones, charred bodies. Even Hiccup refused to hold back, letting the dragons fight however they thought best. Letting the dragons, for a few moments at least, sink back into their wild nature. Some men had bites taken out of them, courtesy of Krogan and Hookfang. Grimmel himself had barely escaped, and even when he had he'd been one arm and almost an entire camp short. Those that survived the attack would be permanently scarred. Permanently mutilated, and carrying the memory of violence they've probably never even imagined before.

Magnus wasn't in good condition, physically or mentally. He was blind in one eye now, a fact that made both Viggo and Krogan's hearts ache. They both knew what that was like, of course. The scales around his left eye that created a birthmark-like appearance, that marked Magnus as having Lycanwing blood like Krogan did, had also been flayed off. Cut and pulled. Separated from skin and muscle in a manner that was grotesque, yet neat. Showing Grimmel had drawn out the process. Broken bones that had begun healing wrong and needed to be painfully readjusted. Dehydration. The list seemed extensive, yet far too short, considering this was Grimmel who did it.

"Do you need anything else?" The voice is soft and smooth. Very characteristic of Viggo, but lacking the usual edge it carried. There's a pause. A moment of silent consideration, then a shuddering breath.

"Nutmeg. A large dose." The answer is straightforward, like Magnus has been thinking about it for a while now. Which, in retrospect, he probably has. He'd picked up a fair bit of Viggo's planning ahead habit over the years. And, of course, being the resident healer of the hunter's gave him plenty of knowledge.

The younger ones in the room, helping monitor and tend to Magnus's injuries and mental state, don't understand the implications. But Viggo does. It makes him feel nauseous and enraged all at once. It makes him feel guilty as well.

"... Grimmel..?" The question is asked by Krogan this time, in a clipped manner. Like the dark skinned man is just barely holding himself back from screaming and punching a wall in a mix of grief and rage. A simple nod is the answer, and then Krogan is storming out. Ryker follows. Viggo swallows the lump forming in his throat, and nods to Hiccup and Fishlegs. A silent gesture for them to go get what Magnus requested. Dagur and Viggo stick with the boy. Until Krogan's yelling grows audible, at least, and then Viggo leaves to try and help his brother calm the man.

Dagur refuses to leave the boys' side. He sticks by Magnus like a tick to a dog, fingers carding through reddish brown hair. They sit mostly in silence. There isn't much to say. No amount of comforting words or promises seemed to be enough. No vows for revenge felt right. The thought of telling the boy about his time in prison doesn't seem right at the moment either, and Dagur highly doubts Magnus wants to hear how his adoptive father had gone through a similar thing in the first place. It would likely hurt the boy more than anything else.

Krogan and Viggo returned at some point. Ryker left to go make some food and to give the immediate family some time. It's been weeks since they've all been together, after all. So they're given time to just be there for each other. Krogan, the man was surprisingly cuddly when he trusted someone, kept Magnus up against his side in a protective embrace. Dagur crowded the boys' other side, resting his head on Magnus's shoulder. Viggo sits next to Krogan, fingers lightly interlocked with the boys own as a reminder that he's here as well.

And when the bleeding starts, when it's clear Magnus needs his dad's more than anything else right now, they stay. They wouldn't dare leave, no matter how much the evidence of the horror their son experienced hurt. Their pain is miniscule in comparison.
